Irish Emo Duo GREYWIND Announces New Album ‘Severed Heart City’ Out September 19th via FLG

Today, the Irish emo duo GREYWIND is excited to announce their cinematic new album,‘Severed Heart City.’ The album will be released on September 19th via FLG. Having heralded the start of a new era earlier this year with epic cuts, ‘Acid Rain’ and ‘I.K.A.M.F.’, the brother-sister duo have announced their second full-length alongside the release of another arena-ready anthem, which will also appear on the record, titled ‘Waterfall.’ The new single is accompanied by a music video, available below.

Guitarist Paul O’Sullivan comments:

'Waterfall' is about hopelessly wanting someone to love you, but getting absolutely nothing in return and waking up to the fact that they couldn’t care less about you. Recording this song felt like a massive moment in our career - it’s dark, cinematic, and has everything we love about music in it.”

Getting to this point has been more than a rollercoaster for GREYWIND, whose debut album ‘Afterthoughts’ was released in 2017 via a major label who promptly dropped them despite the band’s ultra-promising “Ones To Watch” status. They’ve gone on to stoke their own creative fire and herald an avid fanbase with a Tik Tok surge during lockdown, an EP released by Version III last year (‘Antidote’), tours and festival appearances across the UK, Europe and North America, and now a partnership with FLG. ‘Severed Heart City’ is both the culmination of and the soundtrack to that journey, taking in all the twists and turns in the siblings’ story, both personally and professionally, along the way.

Steph and Paul O'Sullivan comment on the new album:

’Severed Heart City’ is an extended allegory for the stages of trauma, and one’s inner struggle to find resolution. There are many roads that lead to the heart of this broken city, but there is only one bridge out – one of acceptance and hope. Our band was created after the suicide of our uncle and since then we’ve been on an intense journey of achieving some of our biggest dreams to then having everything ripped away from us. ‘Severed Heart City’ is a place where it’s ok to be sad, depressed and feel like the whole world is against you but it’s also a place where you make sure none of those things ever make you give up on yourself or your dreams. Only you can save yourself.”

It’s no surprise to hear that GREYWIND are inspired by great emo pop originators like Jimmy Eat World, Fall Out Boy and My Chemical Romance, with the duo’s flair for the dramatic and knack for an earworm melody resulting in an album filled to the rafters with anthems. These are songs you can imagine ringing out from the biggest of stages and being sung back at the band by rapt audiences all over the world. Envelope yourself in GREYWIND’s ‘Severed Heart City.’

Alternative Rock Duo PEAKS! Release Digital Ep ‘Modern World Survivors II’ Out Now via FLG

Today, alternative rock duo PEAKS! is excited to announce the release of their digital EP, ‘MODERN WORLD SURVIVORS II,’ out now via FLG. In addition, a new track, “LEECHER,”is out now, accompanied by a lyric video, available to view below.

PEAKS! comments on the new track:

’LEECHER’ is a scream disguised as a song - born from the urge to call out the toxic patterns we sometimes tolerate. It’s about those people who feed off your energy, twist your words, and hide behind false concern while pulling the strings. We’ve all met someone like that. This track is about waking up to it - seeing the manipulation clearly and refusing to play along anymore.

“Lyrically, it’s sharp, sarcastic, and rooted in truth, not just anger, but clarity. There’s freedom in naming things for what they are and breaking the roles others try to put you in. Sonically, it hits hard: distorted, punchy, relentless. Every riff is designed to cut through the noise like a slap to the face”, they added. 'LEECHER' is a statement: I see you, I’m done, and I won’t shrink to make you comfortable.”

About the EP, the band stated:

’MODERN WORLD SURVIVORS II’ is for anyone who’s ever felt too much in a world that listens too little. It’s for the gaslit, the shutdown, the ones who’ve been guilt-tripped into silence - and still found a way to make noise. Each track is a snapshot of resistance: ‘LEECHER’ confronts manipulation with venom and truth; ‘BAD DECISIONS’ embraces the beautiful mess of recklessness; ‘MORPHIA’ howls from the edge of numbness, and ‘DON’T WANNA BE LIKE YOU’ goes straight for the throat of hypocrisy.

“This EP lives in the tension between chaos and clarity. The lyrics are confessional, confrontational, sometimes self-destructive - but never hollow. They’re laced with irony, pain, and the raw need to break free from anything fake, expected, or imposed.

“Musically, it’s cathartic and intimate: distorted guitars, punchy rhythms, and haunting melodies form a wall of sound that feels like fists against the walls and voices breaking through static. It’s a darker, more resolved end to the storm we started in Part I - less about survival, more about defiance. We didn’t write these songs to be safe. We wrote them to feel alive. If you’ve ever felt like the only sane person in a twisted system - this one’s for you.”

About SKUNK ANANSIE:

Their debut album ‘Paranoid & Sunburnt’ (1995) and its follow up ‘Stoosh’ (1996) both hit the Top 10 album chart in the UK, and with hits like “Weak” and “Hedonism,” they established themselves on the international stage, helped by their stunning live performances. GREYWIND Releases Vengeful Condemnation of Toxic Friendships With New Single ‘I.K.A.M.F.’ + Music Video

Today, Irish brother-sister duo GREYWIND continue their bold new era with the release of their explosive new single, “I.K.A.M.F.” Following their storming return with “Acid Rain” a few weeks ago, this latest track channels pure rage and catharsis into a furious emo anthem that refuses to hold back. The new track is accompanied by a music video, available to view below.

Steph O’Sullivan shares:

“This song is about finally getting rid of people who I thought were ‘friends.’ It’s our revenge song. People who I thought were my friends in the past were never supportive of me being in a band and it always made me feel like I was crazy for wanting to live my dreams. There’s been too many times where I’ve kept friendships just because I felt like I had to or I was too scared to stand up for myself, but this song is the complete release of all of that built up hurt and rage. I know when they hear it they’ll know it’s about them, which makes me love the song even more.”

Alternative Rock Duo PEAKS! Reveals New Single “BAD DECISIONS” + Video via FLG

Following the release of “MORPHIA” last month, Italian alternative rock duo PEAKS! are pleased to reveal their new single and accompanying visualizer video, “BAD DECISIONS," now via FLG.

PEAKS! comments on the new single:

"'BAD DECISIONS' is one of those songs that came from a really honest place. It’s about that part of you that always seems to pick the chaos: quitting the job, running toward the fire, saying the wrong thing at the worst time, but still hoping to be understood. We all have moments where we know we’re messing up, and somehow, we do it anyway. That tension between impulse and consequence is where this track lives.

“There’s a bit of irony in the lyrics, but there’s also a lot of truth. It’s not about glorifying screwing up. It’s about owning it, learning from it, and realizing that sometimes the path that looks wrong to everyone else might just be the one you need to take. We wanted the song to feel reckless but human, with that mix of regret, adrenaline, and hope. That’s 'BAD DECISIONS' for us,” they continued.

British Rock Icons SKUNK ANANSIE Release New Single "Lost and Found" + Music Video

Today, British rock icons SKUNK ANANSIE have released their new single "Lost And Found," following its worldwide premiere on BBC 6 Music’s Steve Lamacq show. Opening with Skin’s lone vocal before a staccato piano motif starts to accompany her, "Lost and Found" is a striking example of the beauty and drama contained on the band’s forthcoming album 'The Painful Truth,' out on May 23rd via FLG.

The video for "Lost And Found" was scripted and directed by Skin. Shot in Munich by the band and India Fleming, the video tells the story of Skin splitting into two personalities after bumping into a demon (Mark Richardson) disguised as a human. The story is told backwards starting with ’Lost’ Skin bloody, bruised and broken, intermingled with her as ‘Found’ Skinperforming with the band.

On the new single, Skin comments:

“We wanted to evoke the loneliness and desperation that can occur in a split second by one tiny mistake. Any of us at any time can lose the security built up over a lifetime whether it be via an accident, or a sudden twist of fate.”

Watch the Music Video for “Lost and Found” Below

'The Painful Truth' is a truly mesmerizing, provocative, powerful and emotional album demonstrating a band at the absolute peak of their powers, yet with everything to prove.

“I don’t care that we were big in the Nineties,” states vocalist Skin. “Creatively it’s irrelevant because in my rock bible the first commandment states, 'If thy rest on them laurels thy shall wither up and die artistically, musically, mentally. And then financially.'”

And for Skin, the past counts for nothing. Even when you’ve been a band for 30 years and history seems on your side. 'The Painful Truth' is the sound of SKUNK ANANSIE facing up to who they are and what they want to become. It is more than an album title. It is a reality that they have lived through.

A combination of parenthood, illness, and the departure of their longstanding manager seemed to conspire against them and add to their uncertainty, forcing singer Skin, guitarist Ace, bass player Cass and drummer Mark to question their place in the world as a band, as well as their own personal ambitions. For a while, they came close to calling it a day.

Unsure of what to do, and failing to write on zoom, the four-piece retreated post-Covid to a farmhouse in Devon where amid frank conversations and home-cooked dinners, they slowly began collating their feelings into songs.

“When we write it’s just the four of us in a room with no outside distractions or interference, getting to know each other again. We’d done the Greatest Hits tour and we realized that things needed to change. If we didn’t do something fresh and forward thinking, we couldn’t really be a band anymore. We’d just be doing SKUNK karaoke,” says Skin bluntly.

And 'The Painful Truth' is anything but SKUNK karaoke. Produced by David Sitek of TV On The Radio fame, it’s a fresh, frank, uplifting, and textured album, with the band’s knack for writing big pop songs remaining defiantly undiminished. If anything, their hooks this time around are sharper and sink in quicker.

The first single, "An Artist Is An Artist", is proof of that; a witty, provocative, pulsating slice of spiky, new-wave brilliance has been greeted with a rapturous reception from fans and media alike, proving a radio smash with playlists on BBC6Music, Kerrang Radio, Planet Rock and Absolute alongside being championed by Jo Whiley on Radio 2. And, today's brand new single "Cheers", which rides along on a deeply infectious, pulsating rhythm and boasts a truly euphoric chorus, demonstrates once more the sheer quality and ambition of the new album.

'The Painful Truth' is a radical record made for these uncertain times. Their first release on the newly formed FLG Records, and with new management in place, also comes with a freshness that belies their storied career and previous multi-platinum achievements. It’s a record that will see SKUNK ANANSIE reclaim their place as one of the most exciting, visionary, and important bands in British music.

“When I really think about it, yes, we have made some good records in our time but it’s been a long time since we have made a great album. And that is the painful truth,” confesses Skin. “Understanding that, led us to making what I genuinely think is our greatest record yet.”

Paul adds:

“As soon as we finished writing ‘Acid Rain,’ we knew it had to be the first song to start the new era of GREYWIND. It’s cinematic, dramatic, and has everything we love about music in it. We wanted it to feel like a movie and you’re now in our world.”

Italian Alternative Rock Duo PEAKS! Unveil New Single “MORPHIA” + Video Out Now Via FLG

Today, Italian alternative rock duo PEAKS! are excited to unveil their new single “MORPHIA”, out now via FLG. The new single is accompanied by a music video, available to view below.

PEAKS! comments on the new single:

'MORPHIA' explores the struggle between self-destruction and the desperate need to feel something real. It’s about those moments when silence becomes unbearable, when the weight of unspoken thoughts and bottled-up emotions pushes you to the edge. The song channels that chaos, that inner conflict between escape and confrontation, turning it into something tangible - something loud. Because when everything is falling apart, when there’s nothing left to hold onto, sometimes the only thing left to do is scream at the top of your lungs.

"Sonically, 'MORPHIA' mirrors that emotional push and pull, blending raw energy with an undeniably infectious melody. The bittersweet contrast between soaring hooks and gritty intensity reflects the song’s core tension - between drowning it all out and feeling it to the fullest. Recorded with a sense of urgency, capturing emotions at their peak, every note carries the weight of that internal battle, making it impossible to shake off, long after the last chord fades."
