Fencer Release "Bad Bet" Video After Debut Self-Titled Album Release

The Los Angeles based rock trio, Fencer, have today released a music video for fan-favorite ballad, "Bad Bet," via Blood Blast Distribution. This single comes from their recently released self-titled debut album, composed of 10 completely self-produced tracks. Fans can stream the album here. You can also watch the music video for "Bad Bet" below.

Speaking on today's video release, vocalist Field Cate shares:

"Very excited to release the music video for our single “Bad Bet”. This song is one of my favorites off the album and I think the video is very representative of the tracks writing process. It was a very therapeutic song for me so I hope others can find something in it as well."

Not only was their debut album self-produced, but it was mixed by Henry Lunetta (5 Seconds Of Summer, State Champs, Grayscale) and mastered by Zach Fisher (Weezer, Rancid, Bad Religion). Prior to today's release, Fencer had previously dropped tracks "Junebug""Couch", and "Joseph Courtney" which had racked up over 2 million listens across all streaming platforms. Keep an eye out for more Fencer news coming soon.

WHAT THE PRESS ARE SAYING:

"This album is a fantastic example of how to step out and make a scene.

In a mentally visual sense, this album stuck true to the band’s motto of “Everything must be blue.” Each song is a shade of blue, different from the last, ranging from deep, vibrant, and hazy to bright, pale, and cheery. All in all, Fencer couldn’t have put together a better collection of songs as a way to debut themselves. This is an album that will open many doors for the band.

5/5"

CHARM Music

"Field’s soulful, melodic vocals pierce right through you from start to finish and are perfectly accompanied by a bluesy bassline and rhythmic drums. Field’s vocal range on this entire album is beyond impressive.

This album was just a rollercoaster of emotion and you could feel every word rush over you.

Fencer has really set the bar high for their next album."

Hunnypot

"This album has something for everyone and very diverse."

"Very excited to finally have our first album out in the world. We’ve worked really hard on this and feel it’s the most accurate representation of what we’re all about, proud to have it as the first full length release in our discography. The recent single “Couch” is about boredom and drugs and sitting on your couch all day. The video is as ridiculous and silly as we could possibly make it so we hope it’s something that can make you laugh or maybe get a catchy hook stuck in your head. Speaking on today's album announcement, vocalist Field Cate shares:

"We are excited to announce our self-titled debut album, "Fencer". This was entirely produced, written, and performed by the three of us. Every sound, every decision, every minute detail. It was all Cameron, Scott, and I. It's Fencer through and through and this is the record we wanted to make. Heavy, soft, silly, sad, raw, emotional. Very blue. We will forever be proud of this project and these songs because it's just us. And it's been all ours for so long, the idea of release something so intimate is really weird. But I'm glad people will be able to hear what we spent those countless hours doing all alone in our little lockout. I hope it invokes some kind of feelign in you when you hear it, whatever that is. It's important to feel."

Speaking on the brand new track,"Joseph Courtney,", vocalist Field Cate continues:

"Oh, well hello! Meet Joseph Courtney. He's angry, sexy, and utterly intense. Able to control a crowd and thrive off the attention. He's a star. Someone and something I aspire to be. A concept that cures my insecurities and allows me to lose a bit of sanity. I like that. He's my alter ego. Why deal with cards I've been dealt when I can just pretend to be someone else? He's perfect. He's Joseph Courtney. You love him."

Speaking on today's release, vocalist Field Cate shares:

"Sanitarium” was written during the height of the pandemic. It was a time when everything felt so unsafe and I was dealing with significant depression, anxiety, and loneliness. Ultimately indulging myself in a lot of codependency with a significant other, knowing this was a dangerous solution. But it felt really good. I was looking for somewhere to feel like I belonged and that fulfilled that for me. That feeling of safety inspired this song, a positive perspective on a negative decision. It felt like I entered a sanitarium, which is the origin of the name."
