ENVY OF NONE’S NEW ALBUM STYGIAN WAVZ OUT TODAY

The highly anticipated second album from Canadian/American four-piece Envy Of None is out today. Titled Stygian Wavz, the album draws its name from the work of the Roman poet Ovid who spoke of “Stygian waves and turbulence at the gates of hell” – a metaphor for the struggles and hardships we face. Following a recent string of standout single releases and stunning music videos, the band are excited to finally be able to share the album in its entirety and bring their full creative vision to life.

I loved all the quality building materials that arrived from my partners and enjoyed cementing each board and brick of an idea into 11 unique rooms within a most beautiful abode. I would encourage you to stroll slowly and repeatedly through each of these rooms, drinking in the colours, gazing at the vistas and feeling the warm wash of sensory vibration. Within these rooms, we have built a place for you, our cordial guest, to relax and open your heart and mind in the comfort of our beloved home.

Welcome, friend.
Alex Lifeson

Though they’d never describe themselves as such, Envy Of None are the living, breathing definition of a supergroup. No other band on earth could rightly claim to have Alex Lifeson – one of rock’s most influential visionaries – heading up guitar duties, with Andy Curran of Coney Hatch and Soho 69 overseeing bass/programming as well as producer extraordinaire Alfio Annibalini on keyboards. However, the star in this band could very well be its youngest member – American singer-songwriter Maiah Wynne – whose wonderfully emotive vocals are able to spin the music in new exciting directions that thrill to the core.

Stygian Wavz is out now on a selection of formats including coloured vinyl, standard black vinyl, CD, Blu-ray, digitally and as a special deluxe edition boxset –

ENVY OF NONE’S NEW SINGLE ‘THE STORY’ OUT TODAY WITH NEW VIDEO, TAKEN FROM THE HIGHLY ANTICIPATED NEW ALBUM STYGIAN WAVZ Aol

Ahead of the release of their new album Stygian Wavz (March 28th, Kscope), American/Canadian fourpiece Envy Of None have shared a brand-new single today. The second track from the new album, ‘The Story’ holds a special place in each of the band member’s hearts and is brought to life with a stunning new video by Jaden D.

Speaking about the new single and inspiration behind the video, songwriter and vocalist Maiah Wynne shared “I wrote about wanting to be better, to grow, and the sense of desperation that comes with that desire. To me, the song is about the struggle of not being able to break bad cycles. I had been stuck for a very long time and was trying to be better. I think it’s a theme a lot of people can connect with in some way. Whether it's habits, addiction, self-sabotage, or just unhealthy patterns, we all are trapped by something we are trying to break away from. If I had the power to write my own story, I’d want to be the hero, but so often I am my own villain.”

Envy Of None announced their new album back in January and have so far shared 3 standout singles, ‘Not Dead Yet’, ‘Under The Stars’ and ‘Stygian Waves’. To promote the album, the band recently appeared on Talk Shop Live in the US with host Steve Harkins to discuss the creation of Stygian Wavz, the writing and recording process and plans for the future. Check it out here.

On their self-titled debut of 2022, the group were able to prove that they were a lot more than the sum of their parts, with an abundance of panache and finesse poured into a contemporary alt rock sound that was hard to predict and even harder to categorise. This year’s sophomore release,Stygian Wavz, is the sound of a band basking in the radiant glow of creative confidence and coming into their own, staggering the listener with every twist and turn encased within their heady mix of genre-splicing brilliance.

ENVY OF NONE ANNOUNCE NEW ALBUM STYGIAN WAVZ (MARCH 14TH, 2025) ALBUM TITLE TRACK + NEW VIDEO ‘STYGIAN WAVES’ OUT TODAY

Envy Of None are back today with news of their much anticipated second album,Stygian Wavz, set for release on Kscope on March, 14th. The announcement follows a recent flurry of activity from the Canadian/American band which saw them release two singles, ‘Not Dead Yet’ and ‘Under The Stars’, both of which included on the new album.

To celebrate the announcement, Envy Of None have shared a new single - album title track ‘Stygian Waves’ – alongside a new music video animated and directed by Mariano Biotico. Speaking on the new single and the upcoming album, Envy of None songwriter and bassist Andy Curran said “This track is a favourite of all 4 EONs. Despite the fact of the spartan lyrical content, this song features our sweet Maiah on lead vocals. Her harmonies and layers of vocals are literally symphonic! It’s hard to put a finger on what style or genre this one is…and we’re proud of that!”

Though they’d never describe themselves as such, Envy Of None are the living, breathing definition of a supergroup. ENVY OF NONE SHARE NEW SINGLE ‘UNDER THE STARS’ NEW VIDEO OUT NOW!

Following the release of their superb single ‘Not Dead Yet’ in October, rock supergroup Envy Of None are back with the follow up, ‘Under The Stars’. Speaking on the single, songwriter and bassist Andy Curran said “Alf & I toiled over this one for months and really felt, even at its rough demo stage that we had something special. We left a ton of space for Maiah in the verses and there’s such a cool mood shift when the chorus hits. Joe Vitale's drum track and percussion added an almost trance like vibe and the icing on the cake, is an unmistakable “Alex” guitar solo. I’m a romantic at heart and the message here is universal.  Soul mates, "two against the world!”

The single is accompanied by a stunning new video created by Olivier Boscovitch.

Envy of None are busy in the studio finishing off their next album and the follow up to 2022’s self-titled debut, expected in Spring 2025.

ENVY OF NONE RELEASE NEW HALLOWEEN SINGLE ‘NOT DEAD YET’ - NEW VIDEO OUT NOW

With an unyielding spirit and defiant energy, "Not Dead Yet" is the latest offering from Envy of None, scheduled for release on Halloween. Featuring the masterful musicianship of Rush’s Alex Lifeson (guitars), Coney Hatch’s Andy Curran (bass, keyboards, backing vocals), Alf Annibalini (guitar, keyboards), and Randy Cooke(drums), with the ever-compelling Maiah Wynne delivering lead vocals, Envy of None conjure a unique blend of classic, progressive rock and modern, vibrant textures.

Speaking on the song's meaning, Maiah, who penned the lyrics, shared that it was inspired by Andy's raw chorus line: "I'm not dead yet, come on along and see what I am good for." She describes the track as a cathartic anthem, one that embodies resilience and defiance against the forces that aim to tear us down. "Simply continuing to exist, to create, and to fight is inspiring and powerful. "You have to continue to exist, to create, and to fight. That’s the heart of the song: keep going and enjoy the ride." The single is accompanied by a video inspired by the Mexican Dia De Los Muertos ‘Day of the Dead’ holiday, produced by Mariano Biotico.

As the band blends their dynamic soundscapes, "Not Dead Yet" unfolds as a layered journey, driving forward with tight rhythms and Alex Lifeson’s legendary guitar lines. The breakdown, Wynne’s favourite part, is the song’s emotional peak, offering listeners a moment of release before launching back into its resilient conclusion. The mix, by Annibalini, coupled with Harry Hess’s mastering, guarantees that every element shines with clarity and force.

‘Not Dead Yet’ not only serves as a bold statement from the band but also as a testament to the unyielding human spirit, a reminder to keep fighting, creating, and pushing forward—no matter what.

ENVY OF NONE UNVEIL ANIMATED VIDEO FOR ‘THAT WAS THEN’ NEW EP ‘THAT WAS THEN, THIS IS NOW’ OUT NOW VIA KS

In celebration of the release of their new EP ‘That Was Then, This Is Now’, Envy of None have revealed a beautiful and striking new video. Recalling the idea of retro Pop Art genius Roy Lichtenstein seen through the lens of a psychedelic graphic novel in the beautiful clip’s vibrant and stylistic imagery.

Created by Olivier Boscovitch (YouTube / Instagram), who has previously worked with David Guetta, the artist was handpicked by Andy Curran, to create a video that was inspired by Maiah Wynne’s lyrics representing both a metaphorical and literal chase.

Andy Curran comments:

The video was created by the super talented Olivier Boscovitch. I discovered some of his work online and reached out to him and he loved the song ‘That Was Then’. He was inspired by the dark and haunting lyrics that Maiah wrote for the song. He pitched the concept of a girl riding a chopper and travelling through a fictional trippy landscape , basically her life, while being chased by a bad assed villain in a muscle car. The  driver  of the car represents the person in our lives that we’re getting away from. Olivier’s amazing graphics are a testament to his unique creativity, we’re very lucky to be working with him.

He continues:

I’m super proud of the new song, Ty Dennis played a killer drum track that breathed new life into the song and we’re very grateful that Alex reached out to him. I think the track itself shows a real growth for Envy of None. It’s like we’ve hit out stride creatively and a nice marker to punctuate that our first record was not a one and done thing. It really opened the floodgates for us writing wise and we’re well on our way to a 2nd record.

The all-star line up of Alex Lifeson , Andy Curran, Maiah Wynne and Alf Annibalini, continue their exponential growth of their trippy, edgy atmospheric sound that took the world by surprise. The new EP is made up of very adventurous tracks that consist of remixes of ‘Dumb’ and ‘Dog’s Life’. Alongside ‘Lethe River’ and ‘You’ll Be Sorry’ only previously released on the deluxe edition of their debut record.

Following these, the EP culminates with a newly recorded track ‘That Was Then’. The song undulates with progressive dexterity and is a perfect example of the unbound writing ability this incredible band showcase.

All tracks were written, arranged, recorded and produced by Envy of None.

‘That Was Then, This Is Now’ remains in canon with the band’s sound of their eponymous debut whilst also pushing the boundaries and is a fantastic prologue to the next chapter of Envy of None’s story as the band have been in the studio creating new music and remixes.

An essential addition to their repertoire.

The new EP is made up of very adventurous tracks that consist of remixes of ‘Dumkoptf’ and ‘Dog’s Life’. Following these, the EP culminates with a newly recorded track ‘That Was Then’. The song undulates with progressive dexterity and is a perfect example of the unbound writing ability this incredible band showcase.

All tracks were written, arranged, recorded and produced by Envy of None.

Andy Curran comments:

“Very happy to say that chapter 2 for Envy of None has officially started. We have a brand new song called “ That Was Then, This Is Now” which marks the first new track we’ve recorded since our debut album release almost a year ago.”

He continues:

The new EP has that song sandwiched between some really trippy remixes that we had some serious fun creating. We’re also looking forward to sharing all of these songs in 360 surround sound to take it one step further. Stay tuned for more cool news around the corner for EON…”

‘That Was Then, This Is Now’ remains in canon with the band’s sound of their eponymous debut whilst also pushing the boundaries and is a fantastic prologue to the next chapter of Envy of None’s story as the band have been in the studio creating new music and remixes.

ENVY OF NONE RELEASE NEW SINGLE “DUMB (Der Dummkopf remix)”

Following the release of their debut self titled album, which charted worldwide and garnered praise from both fans and media, Envy Of None, the new project featuring Alex Lifeson (Rush), Andy Curran (Coney Hatch), Alfio Annibalini and singer Maiah Wynne have released a new digital single ( https://envyofnone.lnk.to/DumbRMX )and lyric video for a remix of the album track “DUMB” – “DUMB (Der Dummkopf remix)”.

“DUMB (Der Dummkopf remix)”, was created collectively by Envy Of None and chosen for the remix as it had proven to be one of the band’s favourite tracks from the album.

Envy Of None bassist Andy Curran comments on the process “The approach we took was to create a different version that also kept the spirit of the original. The seeds of DUMB were focused around the relentless bass line that sits under the chorus. The lyrical hook was something me & Maiah co-wrote trying to have fun with the 1+1=3 line as well as the “dumb dee dumb” lines. We always felt the song had a bit of a Euro-electronic dance vibe so on the remix we really pushed that button. Not only did Maiah add back in some her original vocal tracks which don’t appear on the original version, we added three additional drum loops, some keyboard pads and had fun with some voice samples layered in throughout the song. Lastly we added a new intro for the song as well as an outro which Maiah created after she heard some of the first few remixes passes. We really just had fun messing the hair up of this song while trying to keep its simple charm. But as per usual, it really was a joint effort - all 4 EONs had their fingers in the making of this pie! The video was also a blast to be part of. Hope you like it!”

Envy Of None, feature Rush’s Alex Lifeson, Coney Hatch founder/bassist Andy Curran, accomplished producer and engineer Alfio Annibalini and singer-songwriter Maiah Wynne, their self-titled 11 track debut album ricochets between various shades of alternative, experimental and synth rock, throwing surprises at every turn, twisting dark melodies against contemporary pop hooks.

ENVY OF NONE, PREMIERE THEIR NEW VIDEO FOR SECOND SINGLE “LOOK INSIDE”

ENVY OF NONE, PREMIERE THEIR NEW VIDEO FOR SECOND SINGLE “LOOK INSIDE”
TAKEN FROM THEIR DEBUT ALBUM ‘ENVY OF NONE’
DUE FOR RELEASE ON KSCOPE ON APRIL 8TH

NEW VIDEO & SINGLE FOR “LOOK INSIDE” – Watch below.

PRE-ORDER ‘ENVY OF NONE’ HERE (https://eon.lnk.to/EnvyOfNone)

Following the announcement of their debut, self titled, album and first single “Liar” (https://youtu.be/vV-IZRh22mo ), Envy Of None, the new project featuring Alex Lifeson (Rush), Andy Curran (Coney Hatch), Alfio Annibalini and singer Maiah Wynne have revealed “Look Inside”, their next single and video featuring Envy Of None singer Maiah Wynne and directed by “Jaden D. (www.jaden-d.com ).

“Maiah’s lilting vocal performance was an inspiration” – Alex Lifeson.

Andy Curran, having a “soft spot” for “Look Inside” recalls the song’s creation “I was in my studio late one night, headphones on… a few glasses of red wine deep and thought, wouldn’t it be fun to pull out my bass, blow up the tone, double it and play to a really messed up super slow drum groove. It’s got a real stoner vibe to it. That’s what happens when you mix wine and bass… Mission accomplished!".

With the rough bed track and song name sent to vocalist Maiah Wynne her initial thoughts were one of introspection “Sometimes you have to shine a light on all the ugliest pieces of yourself in order to truly change, and you have to keep slaying that dragon over and over again. It is a continuous, slow and painful process. The guitars and bass really drive the grittiness and heaviness I felt when I wrote those lyrics. It feels like an all-encompassing sludge, and that is what I absolutely love about this song.”

Alex Lifeson, as one of the founding members of Rush, throughout his career has been able to explore more musical ground than just about any other guitar player out there – taking rock to new progressive heights throughout the decades and always in the most wildly inventive of ways. His influence can be heard on countless bands around the world, from indie shoegaze and math rock to heavy metal and beyond. Over the last few years Lifeson has been focusing on a new project that, no matter how well-acquainted you are with his discography, will undoubtedly shatter all seeds of expectation and blow the mind. That project is Envy Of None.

Envy Of None also feature Coney Hatch founder/bassist Andy Curran, accomplished producer and engineer Alfio Annibalini and singer-songwriter Maiah Wynne, and their self-titled debutalbum will be released on April 8 via Kscope. Its 11 tracks – which ricochet between various shades of alternative, experimental and synth rock – throw surprises at every turn, twisting dark melodies against contemporary pop hooks. Lifeson himself is proudly aware of how little of it crosses over with the band that made him famous.

The album’s first single to be released, Liar, is a track full of industrial beats, driving fuzz bass and atmospheric guitars that concoct a seductive swirl, thrilling in ways closer to the darker art rock of Depeche Mode, Nine Inch Nails and A Perfect Circle than anything these musicians have been known for prior.

“Maiah became my muse,” continues Alex Lifeson. “She was able to bring this whole new ethereal thing through her sense of melody on tracks like Liar and Look Inside. After hearing her vocals on Never Said I Love You, I felt so excited. I’ve never had that kind of inspiration working with another musician. When we say she’s special, it’s because she’s really fucking special!”

The album closer, Western Sunset, which was penned by Alex Lifeson in tribute to his dear friend Neil Peart. It’s a highly emotive piece of music to honour a man deeply missed by the rock community at large, and even more so by those who were lucky enough to know him. “I visited Neil when he was ill,” says Alex Lifeson. “I was on his balcony watching the sunset and found inspiration. There’s a finality about a sunset that kinda stayed with me throughout the whole process. It had meaning. It was the perfect mood to decompress after all these different textures… a nice way to close the book.”

Alex Lifeson is no stranger to the concept of evolution. As a founding member of Rush, he’s been able to explore more musical ground than just about any other guitar player out there – taking rock to new progressive heights throughout the decades and always in the most wildly inventive of ways.

The new band, also featuring Coney Hatch founder/bassist Andy Curran, accomplished producer and engineer Alfio Annibalini and singer-songwriter Maiah Wynne, will be releasing their self-titled debut album on April 8 via Kscope. Its 11 tracks – which ricochet between various shades of alternative, experimental and synth rock – throw surprises at every turn, twisting dark melodies against contemporary pop hooks. Lifeson himself is proudly aware of how little of it crosses over with the band that made him famous.

However, it was only when singer Maiah Wynne became involved that this truly started to feel like a band destined to go somewhere. Her haunting melodies and soul-baring intensity is – by the admission of her own bandmates – what truly brought this music to life. All things considered; she is a star in the making… “I sent over an early version of the song Shadow,” explains Andy Curran. “When I played what she’d done back to the others they were like, ‘Who is this crazy talented person?!’”

The album’s first single, Liar, is out now. Its industrial beats, driving fuzz bass and atmospheric guitars concoct a seductive swirl indeed – thrilling in ways closer to the darker art rock of Depeche Mode, Nine Inch Nails and A Perfect Circle than anything these musicians have been known for prior.

“One of my favourite things about these songs is the intimacy of them,” reveals Maiah Wynne. “It makes them feel different and more honest. There are some heavier songs too, like Enemy, and then tracks like Kabul Blues, that sound completely different to anything else.”

It’s a book you’ll almost certainly want to be reading. Envy Of None’s self-titled album is due for release on April 8 via Kscope.
