BLACK SEA OF TREES Announce New Single "Visions of A Crimson Moon".

Melbourne-based progressive metal band BLACK SEA OF TREES have revealed their new single "Visions of a Crimson Moon".

"Visions of a Crimson Moon" occupies a central position within this narrative. The song marks the first moment of uncertainty for the protagonist. A prophetic dream reveals a cosmic serpent and visions of a kingdom exposed under crimson moonlight. The landscape is shown as barren and built on destruction, with temples of bone beneath a sky dominated by a black hole. The vision introduces doubt that continues to shape the remainder of the album.

Musically, the track unfolds as a long-form progression defined by shifting dynamics and tonal contrast. Structured passages dissolve into atmospheric meditation before reforming into heavy, technical climaxes. Rolling percussion, layered guitars, and cyclical lead motifs establish a sense of motion and inevitability. A recurring note-bending guitar phrase introduces a circular, gravitational feel that becomes a key motif later in the album.

About BLACK SEA OF TREES:
Based out of Melbourne and Victoria in Australia, the progressive metal ensemble composes their music around the narrative of their releases. BLACK SEA OF TREES formed in 2018. The debut album, The Spiritual Beast, materialized in the spring of 2023. The band's forthcoming sophomore full-length is an exploration of spirituality, folklore and philosophy, with death metal, folk and ambient elements incorporated into the soundscapes. "A Red Dawn" marks the beginning of this next chapter for BLACK SEA OF TREES, introducing this next album's concept: the protagonist is chosen by god to overthrow an old kingdom in a spiritual revolution. It's a narrative that is heavily influenced by the Ancient Egyptian Pharaoh, Akhenaten and his life’s journey.

BLACK SEA OF TREES bring to life their themes and concepts through dark atmospheric tones, strong full voiced melodies, falsetto and deep growls. With songs ranging from intense 8-minute long walls of sound to 3-minute atmospheric/acoustic passages, BLACK SEA OF TREES draw inspiration from the likes of OPETH, KATATONIA, CULT OF LUNA, RUSSIAN CIRCLES, and KARNIVOOL. A wide array of styles is entwined into the outfit's distinctive and compelling sound.

Deathcore Act SARCOMA Unleash Video For "Ahora Voy Yo"

Ecuador's SARCOMA have unveiled the ferocious new single "Ahora Voy Yo" with an accompanying music video. The deathcore ensemble obliterates with unyielding heaviness, explosive riffs and brutal gutturals.

Released via Valley of the Death, "Ahora Voy Yo", which translates to "Now I Go", is the first single to land ahead of the bands forthcoming full-length album set to arrive later in 2026.

"Ahora Voy Yo" addresses the issue of integrity. It forces artists to confront their egos and their authenticity. "The whole song revolves around the deep regret of long time procrastination and unbalanced ego, when confronted by the urge to prove oneself and grow as long as we live." The band explain. "All audio samples in the song come from 'Ratas, Ratones, Rateros', a hugely successful 1999 Ecuadorian movie, from director Sebastián Cordero. The spoken lines allude to a dead body, which in the lyrical setting is metaphorical, as an underachiever is better off dead."

The new single, "Ahora Voy Yo", produced by Juan Pablo Flores, was recorded at Valley of the Death recording studio, with mixing and mastering by Juan Pablo Rivas.

About SARCOMA:
SARCOMA is the first Spanish-language deathcore band in the world. Formed in Quito, Ecuador, in 2006, the quartet launched their debut EP Silenciosa Tortura independently that same year. 2016 brought a hiatus until seven years later, in 2023, original members Santiago Romero and Juan Pablo Flores returned to write new music, now joined by Andrés Jaramo (drums) and Andrés Éguez (bass).

During SARCOMA's first incarnation, following the first EP, the band released the debut, self-titled full-length album in 2008 with the Esclavitud del Siglo XXI EP arriving in 2013. The band embarked on a heavy national and international touring schedule in neighboring countries.

SARCOMA's unmistakable style, technical precision, and impressive live performances led them to be considered, by the media and the public alike, as the undisputed "fathers of deathcore" in South America. In early-mid noughties, the band's unique mix of hardcore and death metal elements was something unheard of in the country at the time.

The band's sound draws influence from the likes of DECAPITATED, DYING FETUS, KNOCKED LOOSE, SEPULTURA, DESPISED ICON, GOJIRA, with the addition of progressive elements and a thematic focus on their life experiences and environment of Latin America.

2023 saw the band return with renewed vigor and intent unleashing the EP Mesak, the live releases Al Rojo Vivo and En Vivo En Quito in 2024, and "Divino Poder" single in 2025, all via Valley of the Death. SARCOMA wasted no time returning to the live stage in 2023 venturing on the Mesak Ecuador National Tour, along with performances at Mechanimal Fest and Quitofest.

SCHATTENMANN Unveil Title Track From Upcoming Album Endgegner

SCHATTENMANN usher in the new year with the release of Endgegner, the title track from their upcoming studio album. The song signals a decisive next step for the band and sets the tone for a new chapter in their musical journey.

With “Endgegner” [German for “Final Boss”], SCHATTENMANN present themselves sharper and more focused than ever. The track blends German-language metal with pronounced core elements, driven rhythms, and an unapologetic attitude. Crushing riffs, a powerful groove, and a commanding chorus turn the song into a statement piece that reflects both intensity and confidence.

As frontman Frank Herzig reveals:
"This song was my ultimate final boss! Never before has a track driven me so crazy, challenged me so much, and demanded so much from me. In the entire history of Schattenmann, there hasn't been a song that required so many versions and attempts. In the end, I am incredibly proud of it – especially because the path to the finished song was so rocky and because it offers so much both musically and lyrically. It grabs you immediately and doesn't let go until the very end: hard, loud, emotional."

DEAD ANIMAL ASSEMBLY PLANT Roll Out New Single "Hearse"

Portland-based industrial outfit DEAD ANIMAL ASSEMBLY PLANT return with their new single "Hearse", a cheeky, high-energy bone shaker inspired by classic gallows humor and driven by relentless industrial force, available via Armalyte Industries.

The track takes its cue from the haunting childhood rhyme, “Don’t ever laugh as the hearse goes by for you may be the next to die.” Embracing the dark humor of the line, DEAD ANIMAL ASSEMBLY PLANT transforms it into a frantic, stomp-along anthem that barrels forward with manic intensity and morbid fun.

“Hearse” features guest drums by Martin Atkins, a founding figure of the Chicago post-punk and industrial movement. Best known for his work with PUBLIC IMAGE LTD., MINISTRY, and KILLING JOKE, Atkins helped define the sound and attitude of modern industrial music. He is also the founder of Invisible Records, a pivotal imprint responsible for releasing and championing numerous underground industrial and experimental artists. His signature frenetic style underscores the song’s urgency and chaos, pushing the track into overdrive.

Adding another layer of ferocity is Glen Clarke, currently of VEER UNION and UNGOTHLY PLACES, and formerly of 2 SHADOWS, whose screams and growls inject raw aggression into the mix. The song also features a chilling spoken sample from John Kassir (aka the Cryptkeeper), alongside Z. Wager, delivering the titular line with unmistakable menace.

Anchored by relentless guitars and bass, "Hearse" is a high-energy march through the graveyard and a reminder of life’s brutal simplicity. In the end, we’re all just meat on the slab. Live it up or die trying.

About DEAD ANIMAL ASSEMBLY PLANT:
Formed in 2007, the Portland OR, USA, act began as a solo project by Zach Wager before evolving into a full band in 2011. Drawing inspiration from the likes of SLIPKNOT, PIG, NINE INCH NAILS, and ROB ZOMBIE, DEAD ANIMAL ASSEMBLY PLANT allow themselves to be experimental with their creative direction. The band use these influences along with a wide array of instruments and styles to create a distinctive sound, "I think the unique elements of our sound really stem from not trying to write any conventionally genre specific song. So whether it’s using theremins, sampling high tension wires, or anything we feel can add some personality to the song - nothing is off limits."

Over the course of their career to date, DEAD ANIMAL ASSEMBLY PLANT's notable appearances include Knotfest (2015), Wasteland Weekend (2018-2022, 2024), as support for COMBICHRIST on the Only Death is Immortal North American Tour (2024), along with headlining Hellfire Tour (2018, West Coast/Southwest Run) and Bring Out The Dead North American Tour (2019). DEAD ANIMAL ASSEMBLY PLANT have also created/performed multiple soundscapes for Belgian surrealist photographers, Mothmeister, at their art exhibits.

DEAD ANIMAL ASSEMBLY PLANT is:
Zach ‘Dead’ Wager (Vocals)
Rebecca ‘Buzz’ Wager (Guitars)

Away from the kitchen, Tsao is the lead guitarist and bandleader of the metalcore act LOSS BECOMES.

The juggernaut from Montreal will soon be unleashing their devasting death metal on audiences across Europe, joined by VADER and BLOOD RED THRONE for the Freedom Or Death Tour 2026. The onslaught begins on February 18th, in Paris, France. Get your tickets HERE.

About KATAKLYSM:

Born in 1992 from the cold winds of Montreal, Québec, Canada comes one of the country’s top extreme musical exports to date: KATAKLYSM.

Relentlessness and a hard work ethic have made KATAKLYSM a household name in the extreme metal genre in addition to their overwhelmingly positive reputation of fan-friendliness. With a career spanning over 20 years, KATAKLYSM is a leading force in the most brutal & powerful genre in heavy metal and has conquered territories such as Europe, North & South America, Australia, and Asia while recently becoming the first Canadian metal band to ever play South Africa.

KATAKLYSM’s 2013 studio album, Waiting For The End To Come, experienced worldwide success in terms of album sales and touring. Around the globe, the band played to full houses and paved new in-roads into Brazil, Japan, and South Africa where they played to their native fan bases for the very first time. That same year, KATAKLYSM won the “Metal Band of the Year” Award at the renowned Indie Awards ceremony in Ontario, Canada and soon after, was nominated in the “Best Metal/Hard Album of the Year” category at the prestigious Juno Awards (Canada’s equivalent to an American Grammy).

Fueled by the loyalty of their legions of fans who have made so many of the band’s accomplishments possible in their nearly twenty-five years of existence, the members of KATAKLYSM become even more inspired, determined, and unapologetic in their rise to the top of their genre by any means necessary. It’s now 2015 and KATAKLYSM are at it again – like a train that can’t stop its raging momentum.

With the completion of their twelfth studio album, Of Ghosts And Gods, KATAKLYSM is prepared to unleash a tsunami of the best possible hurt among the masses. Of Ghosts And Gods was recorded in three different studios from Montreal, Quebec to Dallas, Texas and Sanford, Florida in order to harness the expertise of the metal industry greats who best understood the band’s talents and their vision. Album tracking was entrusted to longtime producer/ KATAKLYSM guitarist J-F Dagenais (DESPISED ICON, MISERY INDEX, MALEVOLENT CREATION); KATAKLYSM frontman Maurizio Iacono recorded his vocals with producer Mark Lewis (CANNIBAL CORPSE, DEVILDRIVER, WHITE CHAPEL) at Audiohammer Studios; album mixing was masterfully handled by legendary producer Andy Sneap (MEGADETH, AMON AMARTH, TESTAMENT).

The result is Of Ghosts And Gods – a melodic affair of top notch brutality graced with intelligent songwriting. As expected, KATAKLYSM’s famous body-slamming riffs and grooves never falter. Upcoming artist Surtsey (Occvlta Designs) designed sinister album artwork depicting the reality of humanity’s beautifully disturbing existence and its impending death.  Endorsed by producer Mark Lewis as “KATAKLYSM‘s best album to date,” Of Ghosts And Gods demonstrates how – just like fine wine and an expert demolition crew – KATAKLYSM just keeps getting better with age.

KATAKLYSM is:

  • Maurizio Iacono – Vocals

  • Jean-François Dagenais – Guitars

  • James Payne – Drums

  • Stéphane Barbe – Bass

DISSENTIENCE Level Cities With Crushing New Single "Kaiju"

DISSENTIENCE has released "Kaiju," the ferocious title track from their forthcoming EP Kaiju, arriving February 20, 2026. The new single opens with an explosive riff that immediately sets the stage for total destruction and signals the band’s most cinematic and punishing material to date.

Driven by relentless D beat heavy verses, "Kaiju" channels the raw aggression of punk influenced Swedish death metal pioneers like ENTOMBED and GRAVE while maintaining a distinctly modern edge. Riff after riff pummels the listener, creating a synesthetic clash between sound and story as the lyrics depict a colossal monster leveling a fictional city. The massive groove of the chorus adds a new dimension. It is catchy enough to linger yet crushingly heavy, proving that brutality and memorability can coexist.

Midway through the track, DISSENTIENCE briefly eases the throttle with a tense guitar break before detonating into what may be the heaviest riff on the EP. A haunting and dissonant solo from guitarist Connor Valentin escalates the chaos before trading off into searing pentatonic shredding from Jimmy Vitale. Just when it seems the song might relent, the final section surges forward, building intensity with each repetition and culminating in absolute chaos as soaring vocals collide with pummeling drum fills and harmonized riffing.

With "Kaiju," DISSENTIENCE continues to push the boundaries of modern metal storytelling, blending technical mastery with vivid cinematic scope. Fans can expect a fully immersive experience when Kaiju drops in full on February 20, 2026.

Kaiju is a four track concept EP inspired by Japanese monster cinema and Lovecraftian horror. Produced by the band alongside Corey Pierce, the record was engineered by Matt Menafro at Peach Pie Sound, mixed by Zeuss, and mastered by Alan Douches. The EP will be released independently on digital and CD formats.

OFFICER LUCIFER Releases New Single "Far From Right" Featuring Page Hamilton of HELMET

OFFICER LUCIFER returns with "Far From Right", a blistering new single featuring the unmistakable vocals and guitar work of Page Hamilton of HELMET. "Far From Right" delivers a confrontational and uncompromising statement that attacks complacency, false authority, and media-fueled outrage.

Fusing metal, punk, grunge, and Latin rhythms, "Far From Right" expands OFFICER LUCIFER’s genre-defying sound while reinforcing the project’s core mythology. The song exists within a narrative world where engineered hybrids rise up against their human creators, mirroring real-world cycles of control, corruption, and resistance.

Driven by crushing riffs, volatile rhythms, and Hamilton’s venomous vocal performance, "Far From Right" functions as both protest and provocation. The lyrics dissect moral decay, consumer worship, and hollow belief systems, calling out performative rage and manufactured ideology with brutal clarity. It is politically charged without slogans and aggressive without compromise.

The single was recorded across Ecuador, California, and Austin, Texas, with production handled by OFFICER LUCIFER. Mixing and mastering were completed by Jim Kaufman. The international recording process reflects the project’s hybrid identity, unconfined by borders or traditional genre expectations.

With "Far From Right", OFFICER LUCIFER offers no comfort and no easy answers. The track stands as a warning and a challenge, demanding awareness, resistance, and a rejection of the systems that thrive on apathy.

About OFFICER LUCIFER:

OFFICER LUCIFER is a conceptual heavy music project built on confrontation, storytelling, and sonic collision. Drawing from metal, punk, grunge, and Latin rhythmic traditions, the project creates an aggressive and immersive sound that refuses genre boundaries. Each release exists within a dystopian narrative framework where engineered half-animal, half-machine beings turn against their human creators, reflecting themes of control, resistance, and collapse in the modern world.

The project first revealed its universe with the debut single "Uncivil War", establishing a raw and cinematic atmosphere where chaos is not background noise but the driving force. The music is designed to feel physical and urgent, pairing crushing instrumentation with a sense of narrative tension and unrest.

OFFICER LUCIFER operates as a collective rather than a traditional band. The core creative vision is shaped by Pancho Tomaselli, David Coloma, and Andrés Benavides, musicians whose international careers span diverse projects, scenes, and stages. Their combined experience fuels a foundation that is both disciplined and volatile. As the project evolves, additional collaborators are brought in to expand the sound, introducing new textures, voices, and perspectives without diluting the central vision.

Beyond the music, OFFICER LUCIFER functions as a fully realized world. Band members are portrayed as hybrid soldiers assigned distinct military-style ranks, reinforcing a shared identity rooted in rebellion, unity, and defiance. The result is not just a collection of songs, but a living mythos designed to confront listeners and challenge complacency.

OFFICER LUCIFER is:

Pancho Tomaselli - Bass
David Coloma - Guitars
Andrés Benavides - Drums

DIRKSCHNEIDER & THE OLD GANG Broadcast Their Metal ‘Propaganda’ In New Video

On time with their monthly rendezvous with fans since the first single release, here comes another video from Babylon: DIRKSCHNEIDER & THE OLD GANG have unveiled the new visual for "Propaganda", one of the most high-energy tracks from their latest album, released on October 3rd, 2025 through Reigning Phoenix Music (RPM). While the song has already made its mark on the album, the video now adds the visual dimension to its uncompromising power.

"Propaganda" is a rousing song in typical double bass drum style that barely gives you time to breathe. After an aggressive guitar intro and a sublime guitar riff, the highlights follow in rapid succession: Udo Dirkschneider and Peter Baltes shine with their polyphonic choir type vocals which alternate with two-part guitar licks, while the chorus screams the entire media-critical message of the lyrics out into the world.

Manuela “Ella” Bibert supports all this with her solo vocal interludes as well as with a harsh and intensely played Hammond organ. as if that weren’t enough, a guitar solo follows a hymn type vocal part, which culminates in a harmony battle with the organ. The seventies and eighties send their regards!

About DATOG:

DIRKSCHNEIDER & THE OLD GANG (DATOG) was originally launched in 2020 as a one-off charity project, but quickly developed a momentum of its own and formed into a band consisting of Udo Dirkschneider (vocals; ACCEPT/U.D.O./DIRKSCHNEIDER), Peter Baltes (bass, vocals; ACCEPT/U.D.O./DIRKSCHNEIDER), Stefan Kaufmann (guitar; ACCEPT/U.D.O.), Mathias “Don” Dieth (guitar; SINNER/U.D.O.), Sven Dirkschneider (drums; U.D.O./DIRKSCHNEIDER) and Manuela “Ella” Bibert (vocals). Between 2020 and 2021 their first three singles attracted a lot of attention, whereupon the band wrote more songs and recorded their debut album. "Sounds of Ardul" by Chronicler of Ardul

Sounds of Ardul is a sweeping orchestral journey into the dark fantasy realm of Ardul, composed by David Williams of CHRONICLER OF ARDUL. Instead of relying on metal elements, the album embraces cinematic storytelling through rich symphonic textures, intimate folk tunes, and atmospheric worldbuilding. Each track feels like a moment from a larger adventure, guiding listeners through taverns, shadowed forests, ancient mists, and violent clashes. With recurring motifs, emotional character themes, and evocative arrangements, Sounds of Ardul invites audiences to step directly into the world itself, experiencing its wonder, danger, and humanity firsthand.

“Watch Over Me (feat. EXILED HOPE)” opens the album as a bardic folk song carried by clean guitar, violin, hand percussion, and the expressive voice of Sofia Frasz, following a lost traveler yearning for home while navigating the perilous roads of Ardul. “Watch Over Me (Village Version)” shifts to a smaller, more comforting space, portraying the safety and simplicity found within village walls through a short instrumental loop of guitar and violin. “You’re Gone (feat. SYYN)” brings the emotional weight of loss to the forefront, with Aaron Johnson III delivering a somber tavern ballad about love, its fleeting beauty, and the devastating revelation of death that reshapes the meaning of each chorus.

The album’s worldbuilding takes a lively turn with “Oh Me Oh My,” a rowdy late-night tavern song featuring vocals by David Williams, built from stomps, claps, bottle taps, and a catchy refrain meant for drunken patrons. “Woodlands” ventures outside into the dark beauty of Ardul’s forests using strings, harp, clarinet, piano, and choir to evoke mystery and deceptive warmth. Its variations expand that setting: “Woodlands (Alternate Version)” isolates the listener with cello, piano, and harp, while “Woodlands (Battle Theme)” heightens the danger with brass, percussion, and rhythmic urgency as hidden threats reveal themselves.

“In the Mists of the Myrewood (Remastered)” returns to the foundational themes of the larger Ardul mythos. A solo piano piece born early in the project’s history, it whispers with darkness and elegance, building into the thick, treacherous fog that defines the Myrewood. “Veiled Truth” explores moral ambiguity through shifting strings, piano, choir, and guitar, reflecting the uneasy question of whether familiar faces can be trusted. “Unwelcomed Guests” continues the rising tension with timpani heartbeats, clacking percussion, unsettling strings, and a divided choir as an unwelcome figure approaches with unclear intentions.

“To Arms! (String Quintet)” marks the snapping point where conflict erupts, delivering an intimate yet fierce battle theme reminiscent of classic RPG duels. “Temporary Respite” pulls the listener back into calm with soft piano and choir, offering a resting place after turmoil. “Moments From Disaster” churns with heavy drums, tense strings, rumbling voices, and pounding piano, capturing the split second before catastrophe when every instinct screams to act.

“Underground” descends into the cold, winding depths beneath Ardul where dissonant strings, heavy drums, male drones, and brooding piano create deliberate disorientation. “Underground (Alternate Version)” tightens the space to a quieter but more claustrophobic passage lit by a single torch. “To Arms!” unleashes the full symphonic battle, a large-scale conflict with expanded orchestration and dramatic intensity.

The album’s final bard song, “Zarek the Bloody,” introduces a legendary figure whose reputation is both heroic and ominous. With accordion, bass, percussion, and vocals by David Williams, the piece hints at Zarek’s deeds, the cursed blade he wields, and his place in the greater Ardul narrative.

Sounds of Ardul also includes extended ten-minute looping versions of twelve tracks, crafted for worldbuilders, tabletop players, writers, and listeners who want to immerse themselves even further. As the third pillar of CHRONICLER OF ARDUL’s overarching project, this album expands the world’s scope while maintaining musical motifs that connect past works to future stories.

About CHRONICLER OF ARDUL:

CHRONICLER OF ARDUL is the cinematic dark fantasy project created by composer and multi-instrumentalist David Williams, blending orchestral storytelling with the atmosphere and intensity of extreme music. Formed in 2023, the project explores the mythic world of Ardul through three creative pillars: metal, orchestral composition, and written narrative. Every release expands the lore, using recurring motifs, character themes, and emotional worldbuilding to connect albums, stories, and songs into one cohesive universe. Influenced by SHADOW OF INTENT, MENTAL CRUELTY, Nobuo Uematsu, and Yasunori Nishiki, CHRONICLER OF ARDUL approaches concept music with the depth of a novel and the drama of a film score.

The project began as an idea in 2015 and has since grown into a multi-medium saga, starting with the Myrewood EP in 2023 and continuing with Sword of Virné and accompanying short stories. Williams handles all writing, recording, mixing, and artwork, giving the project a distinct voice anchored in emotional honesty and narrative purpose. Every melody is intentional and often foreshadows future events in the overarching story, creating a world that rewards close listening. CHRONICLER OF ARDUL stands as a unique fusion of fantasy, composition, and immersive storytelling, inviting listeners not only to hear the music but to live within the world it creates.

"Arrival" by Acidosis

When ACIDOSIS first tore through Miami’s underground, they were teenagers armed with cheap gear and unshakable conviction. Years later, Arrival revives those early songs not as a nostalgia act, but as a reclamation of origin. Frontperson Ben Katzman, after stints with GUERILLA TOSS, COLLEEN GREEN, and MANNEQUIN PUSSY, dug up the band’s high school material while searching for a spark and found a raw map back to the core. Together with guitarist DIEGO EDSEL, protégé-turned-ripper DEO BUDNEVICH, JONATHAN RUSTEN, and drummer HARRY SCHWARZ, ACIDOSIS re-recorded the set with sharpened intent, producer Ryan Haft at the console, and mastering by Howie Weinberg. The result is 26 minutes that feel like ignition.

“Arrival” opens with a galloping statement of purpose, the sound of a door kicking open. “They Live!” channels protest energy into speed and release, a punk-fueled surge that treats the pit as a place of solidarity. “Hostile Negotiations” turns internal conflict into a whiplash sprint, riff after riff challenging the voice that says stand still. Between the shocks, “Interlude I” offers a moonlit breath, a reflective guitar-and-bass vignette co-written by Katzman and Budnevich that frames the record’s stakes.

“Tied To The Tracks” is the catalyst, born from teenage betrayal and redirected into forward motion. About ACIDOSIS

ACIDOSIS is a heavy metal band originally formed in Miami by Ben Katzman and Diego Edsel during high school. Rooted in thrash, punk, and traditional metal, the band channels the spirit of teenage rebellion through sharpened musicianship and a love of riffs that hit hard and stay stuck in your head. Now based in Los Angeles, ACIDOSIS has evolved into a multigenerational lineup that includes Katzman’s former guitar student Deo Budnevich, who began touring with the band at 14 and now shreds alongside his mentor.

Known for chaotic live shows, politically-charged lyrics, and hook-driven songwriting, ACIDOSIS has shared the stage with acts like D.R.I., NEGATIVE APPROACH, and the JERRY ONLY MISFITS. After years of hiatus and other musical ventures, Katzman resurrected the band with renewed fire, recording the long-overdue debut Arrival, a collection of songs originally written in high school and reimagined with full force.

ACIDOSIS blends the power of early METALLICA and ANTHRAX with the urgency of MUNICIPAL WASTE and the melodic sensibilities of classic IRON MAIDEN. With art by JUAN MONTOYA (TORCHE) and design by PERRY SHALL (GREEN DAY, BLACK KEYS), the project is a full-circle realization of the band's past, present, and future.

This is riff worship without irony. Punk speed without slop. Metal hooks without ego. ACIDOSIS is built to shred, sweat, and scream until the tape runs out.

ACIDOSIS is:

  • Ben Katzman – Bass / Vocals

  • Diego Edsel – Guitar

  • Deo Budnevich – Guitar

  • Jonathan Rusten – Guitar

  • Harry Schwarz – Drums

RED SANDS Unleash “The Hunt”

Independent melodic metal band RED SANDS announces the release of their new single “The Hunt,”. The track appears on the band’s highly anticipated EP Evocations, set for worldwide release on January 30, 2026.

“The Hunt” serves as an energetic and subconscious tribute to one of RED SANDS’ favorite metal acts, Iced Earth. Written by Eric Novelo (bass), with arrangements and lyrics by Daniel Novelo, the song blends galloping riffs, urgent pacing, and a sharp melodic edge. Although it is the most traditional track on the EP, it stands out as one of the most vibrant due to its direct songwriting and fast, unrelenting momentum.

Lyrically, “The Hunt” immerses listeners in the brutality and fervor of medieval warfare. While its themes resonate with nearly any era of armed conflict, the song draws particular inspiration from the Battle of Hattin in 1187, where Saladin’s forces defeated the Crusaders and reclaimed Jerusalem. Arabesque guitar solos, atmospheric backing vocals, and intricate sound effects depicting clashing swords and firing trebuchets create a vivid, cinematic portrayal of chaos on the battlefield.

Evocations features six tracks that explore themes of mortality, memory, and transformation. From the ominous opening “Mors Vincit Omnia” to the commanding presence of “The Coven,” the aggression of “The Hunt,” and the introspective melancholy of “My Beloved Ghost,” the EP traces a cycle of creation and decay. At its center is “System,” a new song that confronts modern corruption with sharp lyrical intent and complex musicianship. The artwork, created by vocalist and visual artist Jonathan Corral, reflects the record’s themes through surreal imagery featuring a being made from memories and relics carrying a dying bird on a blank musical score, symbolizing both unfinished creation and impermanence.

RED SANDS is:

  • Jonathan “Jona” Corral – Vocals

  • Daniel Novelo – Rhythm & Lead Guitar

  • Eric Novelo – Bass

  • Juan Carlos “CJ” León – Piano & Keyboards

  • Ángel Asiain – Drums

ATAVISTIA Unveil Lyric Video For "Eternal Oceans (Reforged)"

Symphonic melodic death metal band ATAVISTIA return with their reimagined and re-recorded album The Winter Way (Reforged), unleashed today via Blood Blast Distribution. The Winter Way (Reforged) showcases ATAVISTIA’s ability to merge cinematic orchestrations with ferocious metal intensity to form a catalyst for their epic storytelling. The new album is accompanied with a lyric video for the dramatic and enthralling “Eternal Oceans (Reforged)”.

Engulfed in the lyrical theme of a vast, cosmic sea, “Eternal Oceans (Reforged)” sees the pacing become slower with lower-tuned guitars, but without lessoning the power and resonance of the arrangement. The track demanded extreme changes from its original incarnation; the band focused intently on removing unnecessary details so that the most important parts of the song could make the greatest impact. Although the arrangement remains long, the orchestration and atmosphere were completely overhauled, and a guitar solo was added for a sudden burst of energy. It is as dynamic and thrilling as the untamable nature of the open water.

Originally released in 2020, The Winter Way marked a defining moment for ATAVISTIA’s ambitious fusion of extreme metal and orchestral soundscapes. However, founder Mattias Sippola felt that its execution and production did not live up to his vision for the album. While working on a brand new record, unforeseen delays arose and during this pause, Sippola decided to completely reconstruct The Winter Way from the ground up. This new version is not a remix or remaster but an entirely new recording, featuring reworked arrangements, modern production, and rewritten orchestral and atmospheric elements. Some of the original drum and bass recordings remain but have been refined for tighter performance. The addition of Spencer Budworth’s powerful growls brings an entirely new energy to the mix, elevating the album to new heights.

The Winter Way (Reforged) was produced, mixed, and mastered by Matthew Richard Sippola at Atavistic Studios with engineering support from Maximilian Sepulveda. The recording lineup includes Mattias Sippola on vocals, guitars, orchestrations, and production, Max Sepulveda on drums, Spencer Budworth on backing vocals, and D’wayne Murray on bass. The album artwork was created by Simo Häsänen.

ATAVISTIA lineup:

Mattias Sippola - Guitar, Vocals, Composition, Production
Max Sepulveda - Drums, Engineering
Elia Baghbaniyan - Guitar
Spencer Budworth - Bass, Vocals

About ATAVISTIA:

Formed in 2017 in Vancouver, Canada, ATAVISTIA takes their fans on a spellbinding journey though vast sonic landscapes of snow covered forests, desolate tundras, and permafrost-laden landscapes. Fans of WINTERSUN, ENSIFERUM, DIMMU BORGIR, and XANTHOCHROID will be enthralled by the elements of melodic death metal, black metal, and Scandinavian folk that is intricately woven together throughout their diverse soundscape.

Taking inspiration from the majestic natural landscapes of their homeland, earthly seasons, and ancient Norse culture, ATAVISTIA’s grandiose sound matches these lyrical themes in an impressive symphony of destruction. Their debut EP, One With The Sun (2017) introduced their unique blend of beauty and ferocity, which they followed up with a stormy full-length in 2020 through The Winter Way. The next two releases, the full-length Cosmic Warfare (2023) and the EP Inane Duncam (2024), saw the band spreading their wings and exploring a wider variety of influences. Through it all, ATAVISTIA balances graceful melodies with a brutal rhythmic cacophony, swirling elegance and fury together like a ferocious northern blizzard.

On stage, ATAVISTIA is a force of nature, like waves crashing against a rocky shore. Their music washes over audiences worldwide, leaving them gasping for more long after the last note has faded. They have toured Europe twice alongside notable acts such as SKÁLMÖLD, METSATÖLL, and SEVEN SPIRES, and have opened locally for MOONSPELL, ELEINE, and OCEANS OF SLUMBER. ATAVISTIA has firmly established its presence in a niche among a wide swath of metal genres.

Are you ready to lose yourself in the juxtaposition of lush and arid, the dichotomy of hope and despair, and welcome the inevitable and beautiful end?

About AMORPHIS

With Borderland, released in September 2025 as their latest album, the title couldn’t have been chosen more fittingly. Throughout their career, spanning over more than three decades, AMORPHIS have been an ever-evolving act, wandering on an exciting boundary-pushing path. From their sinister death metal debut Karelian Isthmus over genre-defining mid-90s melodic death works like Tales From The Thousand Lakes and Elegy as well as the melodic 2000’s grandeur ofEclipse or Skyforger to records combining the very best of all prior eras to refreshing new soundscapes (f.e. Under The Red Cloud or Queen Of Time): Whatever this group works on promises long-range success. With 2022’s Halo, the Finn’s were rewarded for their researching musical approach once again the sextet took home two awards from the prestigious Emma Gaala (“Band of the Year” & “Export of the Year”). The impact of Halo became a driving force for what’s to come. Rather than rushing into a follow-up, the band chose to step back from live performances and focus fully on their next chapter. The result is Borderland - a meticulously crafted opus that builds on their celebrated recent era, while seamlessly weaving in new, timely elements. It’s a bold, organic continuation of their journey, shaped by experience and guided by vision.

Out Now from Aunt Cynthia's Cabin!

The San Diego, CA, based psychedelic desert rock trio AUNT CYNTHIA'S CABIN, are preparing to celebrate their 2020 debut full-length album Misty Woman with a re-release containing a new bonus track. Recorded in the midst of the sun-scorched landscape in Austin, TX, at Electric Deluxe Recorders with Grammy-award winning producer Adrian Quesada, Misty Woman contains the influence of this impressive environment. The album will arrive on cyan and magenta vinyl, as well as on CD, via Black Throne Productions on December 19th, 2025.

"Kennel and the Dog" gently introduces the album with contrasting brighter guitar leads and grounding bass tones, before building into a fuzz-fueled powerhouse. There's a subtle underlying touch of shadow beneath the brightness of the psychedelic rock sound with doom influences. Found within are moments of catchiness, intriguing progressions and full immersion. "Which One Is the Jellyfish?" drifts away from the desert and down into the echoey depths as the prominent bass tones bring to life this watery world. A touch of drama carries through the enticing arrangement in which steadfast rhythms are interrupted with flourishes of keys, guitar licks and other sonic explosions. Seeing the overdrive turned up way past 11, this instrumental offering is characterful in its world building.

The enticing seductive mood of "Misty Woman" is brought to life with a slow tempo, a more minimalist arrangement placing the focus on Brennan Justice's lead vocals. The playful layering of instrumental components sees the track ebb and flow, gently teasing. Gradually building into a full inviting sound, "Rider in the Desert Sun (Pt I)" sees a multitude of tones and textures manifest throughout it's journey. The presence of additional organ layers reveals a 'feel good' vibe in this instrumental track. Hidden further within, a heavier rock section reveals further stylistic influences in the band's sound. "Rider in the Desert Sun (Pt II)" follows on from it's brighter first half with a dustier, more raucous rock 'n' roll spirit. This guitar driven track brings memorable hooks in the lead vocal melody supported with fuzzy distortion laden chord progressions beneath.

A sense of drama and adventure is prevalent from the off. "In the Valley"'s steadfast percussion hits contrast the bright tones of the guitar strums and notes that float above. There's an uplifting and comforting feel to this expansive and immersive instrumental offering. "There’s No Saving Cass" returns from the wild expanse of the valley into the Western plains. Subtle bass grounds the track while the lead guitar and lead vocal line entwine, rising and falling together. Reaching it's full arrangement, this charismatic track delves into the heart of the band's psychedelic rock style. "Grains of Sand", an interlude piece, briefly diverts in mood and feel. Acoustic guitar arrangement contribute to the track's melancholy feel that reverberates through a slow tempo and contemplative progressions.

The intensity of "Black and Blue" hits instantly. The high octant feel and movement of the track's rhythms is instantly alluring. Dynamically, it ebbs and flows between brief moments of reflection and full on vigorous impact. Taken from the Miramar Sessions, the bonus track "Magic Touch" offers a more intimate feel of AUNT CYNTHIA'S CABIN's sound.

About AUNT CYNTHIA'S CABIN:
AUNT CYNTHIA'S CABIN is comprised of San Diego’s Brennan Justice (guitar, lead vocals), Anthony DeFreitas (bass, vocals) and Jeremy Luvaas (drums, percussion). Beginning as a duo, Justice and DeFreitas' previous time in a surf rock ensemble saw the pair develop their signature western tones with an excessive use of spring reverb, translating now to the ethereal, dusty sound of psychedelic desert-rock. The band’s name is born from a fictional 1970s murder mystery novel dreamt up by the trio on a drunken night, capturing their embrace of “strange and heavy”, aptly fitting of the uncanny elements entwined in their sound. AUNT CYNTHIA'S CABIN produce an neo-psychedelic sound that carries an eerie quality. The sonic atmosphere envelopes with nostalgia.

The trio began as a self-recording band with a home-brew analog-meets-digital rig set up. The DIY approach was left behind in 2019 when the outfit ventured from their hometown of San Diego, CA to Austin, TX to record Misty Woman in a studio they felt would best fit the vibe of their new compositions. Working with producer Adrian Quesada (The Black Pumas, 7-time Grammy-nominee) at Electric Deluxe Recorders, the very sun-beaten landscape that surrounds the studio fed into the quality and mood of the recordings.

Initially released by Nasoni Records in February of 2020, the enthralling textures and captivating character of AUNT CYNTHIA'S CABIN's Misty Woman returns including the new track "Magic Touch", on vinyl and CD via Black Throne Productions on December 19th, 2025.

ESHTADUR Releases Epic Symphonic Melodeath Single, "Fire Above Mountain Below"

Colombian blackened melodic death metal force ESHTADUR has released their latest single, "Fire Above Mountain Below", off of their latest album, Symphonic Crows – Live at the Santiago Londoño’s Theater. Grandiose symphonic elements provide a powerful backdrop for ominous riffs and snarling vocals. In signature ESHTADUR fashion, "Fire Above Mountain Below" balances crushing heaviness with a catchy, cinematic earworm of a chorus.

Vocalist and guitarist Jorg August comments, "The shapes that can be explored with a symphonic orchestra reminds me of why I enjoy music so much: the character and the intensity of 40 people giving the music their all. That's very ritualistic and powerful. This new live album is something I wanted to do for so long."

Watch the official video for "Fire Above Mountain Below" below:

Symphonic Crows – Live at the Santiago Londoño’s Theater is out now on the ESHTADUR official Bandcamp page: https://eshtadur.bandcamp.com/album/symphonic-crows-live-album

About ESHTADUR:

ESHTADUR was founded in the fall of 2005 by Jorg August, releasing the Timo Be Timo demo with a sound in the vein of COVENANT, DIMMU BORGIR, and OLD MAN’S CHILD. Since then, they have released a pair of EPs and four powerful full-length albums. ESHTADUR, meaning "the rebellion of angels," can be most closely likened to bands such as SEPTIC FLESH, BEHEMOTH, FLESHGOD APOCALYPSE, CARACH ANGREN, and the like. Like their scene counterparts, the band embodies a deathly melodic atmosphere that reaches into realms of darkness and despair through the decay of humanity. It seeks to rebel, in its darkened way, embracing the abject reality.

Their rich touring history includes performances across Colombia, Peru, Mexico, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, and Slovakia. They have shared the stage and toured with CRADLE OF FILTH, VADER, GRAVEWORM, SEPULTURA, ABORTED, and DECAPITATED, the last three at Rock al Parque 2016. Their 2017 release via Bleeding Music Records, Mother Gray, is an expression of planetary death and putrefaction. The scathing release saw the band touring eight countries in Europe through 2018, and then visiting the United States for the first time for the Gray America Tour, including dates in Mexico. The band’s latest album, From The Abyss, was released via Blood Blast Distribution and physically distributed by Hateworks in Latin America.

In 2022, the band toured in support of BATUSHKA and DIABOLICAL, visiting Romania, Bulgaria, Greece, Austria, Slovenia, Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, and Switzerland. In 2023, ESHTADUR performed at 70000 Tons of Metal, being the only band from Colombia to do so. They then embarked on a North American tour with SUMMONER’S CIRCLE, visiting New York, Kentucky, Iowa, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Nebraska, Colorado, Texas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, South and North Carolina, and Virginia.

After conquering 19 shows in the United States, ESHTADUR was invited as a guest of honor to the largest music festival in Latin America, Rock al Parque, supporting IN FLAMES from Sweden. The Crows from Colombia delivered a magnificent concert with Pereira’s Symphonic Orchestra at the Santiago Londoño Theater at the end of the year. This live concert was released on Pro Tape for collectors by Mutilated Records.

In 2024, the band united forces with GRAVEWORM for a Latin American tour, visiting Mexico, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Costa Rica, and Colombia. ESHTADUR also performed at the 17th edition of Grita Fest in Manizales, Colombia, supporting HATE and EXODUS. Now the crows are gathering mist forces once again, ready to fill your soul with darkened despair at their next visit.

BLAZONER Announces First Single "I'm In Love With My Car" From Upcoming Covers EP Sonic Chambers

Fredericksburg, Virginia heavy rock trio BLAZONER has released "I'm In Love With My Car," the first single from their upcoming covers EP Sonic Chambers, due out February 13, 2026. The track offers an electrified and harmony rich reinterpretation of the classic QUEEN deep cut.

The band approached the recording with a mix of respect, intensity, and playfulness. Drummer Andy Murray takes the lead vocal, a nod to Roger Taylor’s original performance, while Brian Carnes and Stephen Sullivan join him to build thick, layered choruses that showcase the trio’s signature multi vocal sound. The band recorded an extensive number of vocal tracks to capture the fullness and dramatic lift that makes the original song such a standout. Longtime friend and producer Jeff Covert helped guide the arrangement and brought extra clarity and dimension to the performance.

"I'm In Love With My Car" marks the first look at Sonic Chambers, a collection born from a spontaneous decision to record a few favorite covers in the studio. What began as a simple session quickly evolved into a five track EP that celebrates the music that shaped BLAZONER’s sound and spirit. The single highlights their ability to blend heavy rock power with melodic precision while staying true to the emotional core of the source material.

Listen Below;

About BLAZONER:

BLAZONER is a heavy rock power trio from Fredericksburg, Virginia, built on the belief that loud music should feel both massive and melodic. The band leans into thick, saturated riffs, driving rhythms, and vocal harmonies that hit as hard as the instruments behind them. Their sound blends the grit of stoner rock, the pulse of classic heavy rock, and the swirling textures of psychedelia, creating a style that feels raw, hook driven, and unmistakably their own.

Formed by Andy Murray, Brian Carnes, and Stephen Sullivan, BLAZONER is powered by the natural chemistry the three share when they play together. Every member sings, which gives the band a vocal identity rarely found in heavy music. Whether delivering gritty leads or layered harmonies, the voices of all three members work together to add color and emotion to the band’s thick wall of sound. The result is a blend of heaviness and melody that stands out both live and on record.

BLAZONER came out of the gate with a commitment to playing hard, writing often, and letting instinct lead the way. Since releasing their first music in 2023, the band has grown quickly through high energy performances that showcase their volume, intensity, and connection as performers. Crowds respond not only to the weight of the riffs and the immediacy of the songs, but also to the sense that the band is having as much fun onstage as anyone in the room.

Their music reflects a wide range of influences, yet everything is filtered through the same core approach. Play loud, play with purpose, and make songs that feel alive. Whether crafting originals or reimagining the tracks that shaped them, BLAZONER focuses on movement, emotion, and the thrill of a great groove hitting at full power.

BLAZONER continues to evolve as they write, record, and perform, always pushing toward a heavier, tighter, more expressive version of their sound. For the band, heavy music is more than a style. It is energy, teamwork, and a constant exploration of what three people can create when they trust every instinct and hold nothing back.

Chronicler of Ardul Announces New Single “To Arms!” From the Forthcoming Album Sounds of Ardul

CHRONICLER OF ARDUL presents “To Arms!,” a powerful new single that plunges listeners into the intensity of open conflict within the dark fantasy world of Ardul. Arriving ahead of the upcoming album Sounds of Ardul, due out April 10, 2026, the track highlights the project’s most dynamic orchestral writing yet, capturing the decisive moment when tension gives way to full-scale battle.

“To Arms!” surges with commanding brass, urgent strings, and relentless percussion, creating a vivid and cinematic sense of motion. Composer David Williams channels the spirit of classic video game battle themes while shaping a narrative turning point within the album’s broader emotional landscape. The piece expands on motifs that appear earlier in the record, transforming subtle melodic hints into a triumphant and volatile climax.

Serving as a counterpart to the more intimate “To Arms! (String Quintet),” the new single presents the full battle in its largest, boldest form. Where the quintet version evokes a duel or contained skirmish, “To Arms!” unleashes the full orchestra to paint a much grander conflict.

With Sounds of Ardul, CHRONICLER OF ARDUL deepens its commitment to immersive worldbuilding, weaving thematic motifs and emotional storytelling into every composition. “To Arms!” stands as one of the album’s defining moments, a track that invites listeners to feel the rush, fear, and determination of a hero forced to act.

About CHRONICLER OF ARDUL:
CHRONICLER OF ARDUL was started as a passion project by David Williams when he wanted to combine his love of metal music and dark fantasy to tell a story that spanned over songs and albums. After graduating from Berklee College of Music, he puts his skills to the test to create the music for a story he had been working on for 9 years. The debut EP called Myrewood released late 2023, with its written short story partner, Myrewood Part 1, published in May 2024. The following EP, Sword Of Virné arrived in the summer of 2024. Musically, CHRONICLER OF ARDUL draws from the likes of SHADOW OF INTENT and MENTAL CRUELTY in the metal world, while also taking inspiration from Japanese composer Nobuo Uematsu.

HUMANNESS TEST announces the release of their newest single, "Prima Facie"

Progressive heavy outfit HUMANNESS TEST announces the release of their newest single, "Prima Facie," the seventh track to emerge from the ongoing Humanness Test project.

The phrase prima facie translates to “at first sight” or “based on first impressions,” a fitting lens through which the band invites listeners to experience the track. What will people think when they first hear it? For HUMANNESS TEST, the answer lies in a piece that stands firmly on its own, one that honors the foundation already built while opening the door to the project’s evolving future.

An instrumental composition written by Maurice Taylor and Chris Lucci, "Prima Facie" began with a bass riff that sparked deeper exploration. The dynamic interplay between bass and drums drove the track’s growth, expanding organically through layers of guitars and keyboards. The single features standout performances from international collaborators Francesco Finori (Italy) on keyboards and Pedro Ricardo (Portugal) on lead and rhythm guitars. Ultimately, the track reflects the creative partnership Taylor and Lucci have nurtured over three decades.

As Chris explains: “There’s definitely a synergy within progressive music, and this track is the result—something that truly sounds like us. You can hear the influence of other bands, but ultimately it’s a reflection of how we write.”

"Prima Facie" showcases the band’s distinctive blend of progressive sensibilities, heavy grooves, and collaborative musicianship, serving as a clear next step in the unfolding narrative of Humanness Test.

About HUMANNESS TEST
Having recently emerged into the heavy music scene in 2024, HUMANNESS TEST produces a dynamic sound that traverses progressive rock and metal realms while also drawing from more traditional heavy subgenres. RUSH, PORCUPINE TREE, and DREAM THEATER are but a few sources of influence and inspiration across the HUMANNESS TEST's musical direction. Appealing to audiophiles and musicians alike, HUMANNESS TEST celebrates the individual creativity and irreplaceable 'human' element of music created by those with a love for their craft. This feeds into the band's inclusion of a diverse array of musicians from around the globe throughout their releases.
