Denver-based instrumental post-metal band ONLY ECHOES present the title track of their forthcoming full-length Born Adrift. The album is scheduled to arrive on August 14, 2026, via Braeburn Records.

ONLY ECHOES deliver "Born Adrift" with a striking impact. Wave after wave of intense heaviness brings the track's concept to life. Shadowy passages feel weighted and inescapable but they are not dwelled upon without hope for too long. 

Alternating between light and shade, ONLY ECHOES deploy carefully curated changes in the track's pace as well as through their instrumental layering. The structure of "Born Adrift", while exploring periods of turmoil and relief, is emotionally complex as the music rises and falls before meeting an abrupt end.

In August 2026, ONLY ECHOES will release their sophomore full-length album Born Adrift through Braeburn Records. Expanding on the emotional and conceptual depth of their previous work, Born Adrift explores the search for meaning through monumental riffs, ethereal atmospheres, and dynamic songwriting that remains both devastatingly heavy and deeply melodic. The album artwork reimagines an 1876 Gustave Doré engraving from The Rime of the Ancient Mariner, colored and illustrated by Denver artist Celeste Hayes (@chayesart).

Though the band originally intended to include vocals, no one ever stepped forward to sing. Over time, ONLY ECHOES realized vocals were unnecessary entirely. Their music speaks through dynamics, melody, and sheer sonic force alone, summed up in the band’s defining ethos:

“No gods, no vocals.”

A relentless DIY band at heart, ONLY ECHOES have played more than 75 shows across the United States everywhere from bookstores and backyards to theaters and festivals. Their touring history includes multiple DIY west coast and midwest runs alongside performances with PALLBEARER, BIG|BRAVE, STRAWBERRY GIRLS, and THE ONGOING CONCEPT, including an appearance at the inaugural Ghost Canyon Fest.

At the center of the song is Allison Eckfeldt’s dynamic vocal performance, moving seamlessly from intimate, haunting whispers to explosive, confrontational anthems. Her delivery mirrors the track’s central theme: the divided self is not something to be conquered, but integrated.

Musically, “No Absolutes” was crafted to feel expansive, heavy, and precise. The band relied on a Mesa Boogie Mark V amplifier to preserve mid-range clarity while cutting through the electronic weight of the production. Rhythm guitars were re-amped and doubled with a wide left-right panning spread, carving out a powerful center channel for Allison’s vocals to strike with maximum impact. Subtle octave layers lift the choruses, giving the track added depth and scale at its most explosive moments.

The single’s visual identity expands the song’s philosophy through sacred geometry. The cover art features the Vesica Piscis, an ancient symbol formed by the intersection of two identical circles and often associated with creation, duality, and the meeting point between the spiritual and physical worlds. Wrapped in protective shielding and untamed thorny vines, the imagery reflects the song’s thesis: we are not fragmented, warring personalities, but one unified being experiencing life across multiple frequencies.

Melodic Death Metal Quartet FALSIMONIAN Release Video For New Anguish Driven Track "The Enemy"

FALSIMONIAN present a ferocious aggression in their new single offering, "The Enemy". Taken from the forthcoming EP For Survival, scheduled to arrive independently on November 7, 2026, the track is rooted in melodic death metal alongside groove, thrash metal, and black metal influences. 

On the new release, FALSIMONIAN share: 
"'The Enemy' speaks about the manipulation that society has fallen where everyone is pitted against each other to create conflict and a divide in society making enemies of people who may share a common goal."

"The Enemy" sees FALSIMONIAN joined by vocalist Alfredo Rocha Sifuente (ORCUS O DIS) whose performance alongside Erick Valverde contributes to the depiction of argumentative voices in conflict. This vocal arrangement is designed to evoke a state of paranoia and persecution complex. The track's chorus sees the vocal parts join to further emphasize the 'victim/aggressor' dichotomy. Fast-paced and overlapping phrases build a sense of urgency, anger and chaos.

The US and Mexico based melodic death metal band FALSIMONIAN infuse their dynamic heavy sound with influences from Mexican folk and Latin-American roots music, as well as progressive elements and jazz. Centered around a fictional, dystopian world, the upcoming EP considers the everyday impact onto individuals who are living under the threat and fear of a world-ending catastrophe.

For Survival was produced by Jesus Fuentes Valverde, with mixing and mastering by Gil Andrade. Drums engineering was undertaken by Ruben Sanchez at Urvn Studios, with guitars and keyboards recorded by Jesus Fuentes Valverde and vocals recorded by Erick Valverde. Guitar and vocal editing, and bass programming, was by Jesus Fuentes Valverde. Additional guitars on "Limitless", "Judgment" and "For Survival" were recorded and edited by Cesar Robles. 

All artwork photography for the EP and single releases are from X-Rays Erick Valverde has taken over the last 10 years. The artworks utilize original photographs of a colorful sunset as the light source behind the X-Rays. These colors are commonly seen in the desert skies of the US/Mexico border. Ariadne Willis, adjusted the photographs for the layout and design of the EP and single covers. Based out of Los Angeles, CA, ANGELS ON THE BATTLEFIELD began as a side project for guitarist JD McGibney (ex-VOODOO KUNGFU) before augmenting to a full line-up in 2021. Alongside McGibney, the instrumental symphonic progressive metal band is now comprised of Jason Klein on bass (ex-BUTCHER BABIES), Eddie Trager on drums (ex-NEKROGOBLIKON) and Chris Wirsig on keyboards (award winning TV and film composer).

In 2025, ANGELS ON THE BATTLEFIELD's 2024 single release "Modern Prometheus" was long listed in the 2025 GRAMMY Awards in three categories: Best Metal Performance, Best Instrumental Composition and Best Arrangement - Instrumental or A Capella. KING ULTRAMEGA Unleashes New Single “Birth Ritual,” a Powerful Tribute to Chris Cornell

KING ULTRAMEGA, the all-star tribute project honoring the music and legacy of Chris Cornell, returns with its latest single, “Birth Ritual,” a reimagining of the SOUNDGARDEN deep cut originally featured on the legendary Singles movie soundtrack. Arriving one day after what would have been Cornell’s 58th birthday, the release also lands amid the continued celebration of Singles’ 30th anniversary, adding another layer of meaning to a track forever tied to the film, its era-defining soundtrack and the Seattle sound Cornell helped shape.

The new version brings together Matt Cameron, the legendary SOUNDGARDEN drummer who co-wrote and performed on the original track, Mark Menghi (bass & producer), and Lzzy Hale (vocals) and Joe Hottinger (guitar) of HALESTORM. For Menghi, KING ULTRAMEGA has grown into something larger than a covers project.

“KING ULTRAMEGA has become more than a cover project; it feels like a living tribute to Chris Cornell’s entire creative spirit,” says Menghi. “If you notice the trend of KING ULTRAMEGA releases thus far, we cover all aspects of Chris’ career—spanning different albums, bands and solo records—with no more than one song from any given release. ‘Birth Ritual’ was originally featured on the legendary Singles movie soundtrack, and it has always been one of my favorite SOUNDGARDEN songs. It was important to me to give a tip of the cap to a phenomenal film—which Chris famously cameos in—and a soundtrack that perfectly defined that entire era. I still have my original VHS of the movie! Even our artwork for this release is a direct nod to the movie’s fictional band, ‘CITIZEN DICK.’”

When it came time to build the lineup for “Birth Ritual,” Cameron’s involvement was essential.

“Bringing in Matt was essential,” Menghi continues. “Having the guy who actually lived that experience—and is famously in the movie performing the OG version of this song live from behind the drum kit in one of the scenes—gives our version an undeniable, authentic energy. Getting to lock in on bass with Matt driving the drums was an absolute dream. Pairing our rhythm section with the sheer power of Lzzy and Joe took this track to the stratosphere. Lzzy completely channels that raw Cornell vocal grit, and Joe’s guitar work is just blistering. Together, I believe we honored the history while bringing fresh energy to it.”

“Birth Ritual” also marks the second time a member of SOUNDGARDEN has performed with KING ULTRAMEGA, following Kim Thayil’s appearance on “The Day I Tried to Live.”

“Humbled, grateful, and completely surreal,” Menghi says. “Between having Matt on ‘Birth Ritual’ and Kim Thayil laying down guitars on ‘The Day I Tried to Live,’ it’s an absolute full-circle moment for me. SOUNDGARDEN has been woven into my creative DNA since a very young age. For Sweden's SARCATOR, that moment has arrived.

With "The Ones We Follow," the first single and title track from their forthcoming fourth studio album with the same title, SARCATOR open the next chapter of their story. Released alongside a blistering performance video directed by F/53 Films, the track also marks the launch of the album pre-order, offering the first glimpse into a record where every piece of SARCATOR finally falls into place.

Over the past years, SARCATOR have built a reputation as one of Scandinavia's most exciting young heavy bands, earning nominations for both Sweden's P3 Guld and Grammis Awards while sharing stages with Hellripper, 1349 and Midnight. Yet The Ones We Follow is not the culmination of that journey.

MESHUGGAH Announces Exclusive Signing and Limited-Edition Transformers Collaboration at San Diego Comic-Con

MESHUGGAH members Tomas Haake and Mårten Hagström will make a special appearance at San Diego Comic-Con, signing for fans at the Reigning Phoenix Music/Stern Pinball booth, #4029, on Friday, July 24, at 3:30 p.m.

The appearance will coincide with the unveiling of a limited-edition MESHUGGAH x Hasbro’s Transformers T-shirt, created to celebrate four decades of The Transformers: The Movie and three decades of MESHUGGAH’s seminal album Destroy Erase Improve.

The collaboration draws inspiration from the transformation of Megatron in the 1986 animated film. After being destroyed in battle by Optimus Prime, Megatron is betrayed by Starscream and cast into space, before being rebuilt by Unicron as Galvatron, a narrative progression that mirrors the title Destroy Erase Improve.

“Big machinery. Massive destruction. Reconfiguration. A pretty accurate analogy to our sound, is it not?” says Mårten Hagström.

The limited-edition design brings together two influential forces in music and pop culture, connecting the mechanical destruction and transformation of the Transformers universe with the precision, power and constant evolution of MESHUGGAH’s sound. The artwork was done by renowned Transformers and G.I.JOE artist, Ken Christiansen. (@ken_christiansen_art ) Ken has spent over a decade shaping the Transformers franchise's visual identity for Hasbro and Activision, from Generations toy packaging and Covenant of Primus lore art to Transformers video game concept art and IDW comic covers.

Ken comments, "Two of my favorite things are Transformers and metal music, when the chance came up to combine the two, how could I pass that up?  And to do it for a killer band like MESHUGGAH, can't get much better."

Reigning Phoenix Music will also celebrate the band’s anniversary remastered reissues of Destroy Erase Improve and Catch Thirtythree with San Diego Comic-Con-exclusive splatter vinyl variants of both releases.

Chicago's heavy quartet BLACK SITES present their fifth studio album, For Eternity. Released today, the band deliver impactful catchy choruses and lyrical hooks alongside a powerful riff-driven sound across the track list.

About OSYRON:
Originally formed in 2012, the band's current lineup is comprised of vocalist Reed Alton, guitarists Krzysztof Stalmach and Bobby Harley, bassist Tyler Corbett, and drummer Cody Anstey.

Their latest album, Momentous (2022), reached new heights gaining international praise, including the single release "The Deafening", featuring Stu Block (ICED EARTH, ANNIHILATOR, INTO ETERNITY) and Percival Schuttenbach (The Witcher 3 OST). Achieving multiple features on Spotify's All New Metal playlist Momentous has over 174,000 streams on Spotify alone to date. In the following year, OSYRON was nominated for the 2023 Western Canadian Music Awards "Metal Band of the Year".

Beyond the streams, OSYRON has shared the stage with renowned groups such as NIGHTWISH, INSOMNIUM, EVERGREY, DARK TRANQUILLITY, KAMELOT, DRAGONFORCE, AMORPHIS, KREATOR, DESTRUCTION, HYPOCRISY, and many more at their performance on 70,000 Tons of Metal.

OSYRON's metal version of "O Canada" was licensed for a Destination Canada ski video that was shown before all screenings of Warren Miller's 2021 movie Winter Starts Now, and the band received the prestigious FACTOR Canada "Juried Sound Recording" grant in 2021.

In summer 2023, OSYRON played their first European festival at Rock Castle in Czechia alongside HAMMERFALL, AMARANTHE, U.D.O., ALESTORM, BEAST IN BLACK, DORO, and more. The quintet brought their world-class sound on the road that same year touring North America over 16 dates supporting SEVEN KINGDOMS.

OSYRON returned to Europe in the summer of 2024 on a 6-date tour bookended by festivals where they shared the stage with JUDAS PRIEST, BRUCE DICKINSON, AVANTASIA, and ACCEPT at Masters of Rock in Czechia.

OSYRON is deep in the process of finalizing their forthcoming full length studio album, intended for release in late 2026.

Chilean Guitarist And Composer BAXTY Faces Reality In The New Single "Threshold" Ft. Pierre Danel (NOVELISTS)

BAXTY presents "Threshold", the first in a tripart collection of compositions that entwines emotional storytelling through technical progressive music. This trilogy of singles explore the psychological states of a painful realization of truth, the subsequent internal destruction, and the journey to acceptance and rebuilding one's identity. The single also features Pierre Danel (NOVELISTS), bringing his signature modern progressive guitar approach to the composition and adding another layer to BAXTY’s cinematic and technical vision.

On "Threshold", BAXTY shares: 

"'Threshold' represents the culminating point of a deep disappointment — the moment when you finally realize there is no turning back. It’s the instant when illusions begin to collapse and the truth becomes impossible to ignore. The song explores the emotional weight of standing at that edge, where the only option left is to accept reality and take the step toward confronting it."

Commanding intensity strikes from the moment "Threshold" begins. A fast and powerful display of intricate guitar leads traverses above a contrasting heavy rhythmic pattern. The progressive arrangement evokes a sense of unease while the track's inescapable momentum races forwards. "Threshold" presents a stylistic shift in the following section as the pace is restrained and the instrumental arrangement widens providing space to breathe. 

Dynamic orchestration, delicate piano melodies and warm synths aptly convey the emotion and conceptual narrative across "Threshold". The multi-textural sound contributes to BAXTY's detailed sonic world building. 

About BAXTY:

Based out of Santiago, Chile, the solo project BAXTY emerged in 2022 driven by Bastian "Baxty" Martinez's need to find his own voice while seeking to connect the melodic and the aggressive. BAXTY draws heavily from cinematic sound design and immersive musical experiences, alongside an exploration of self-expression, artistic freedom and emotional storytelling. 

Blending intricate and progressive technical guitars with impressive soundscapes and emotive narratives, BAXTY takes inspiration from across a wealth of heavy music genres and styles into his distinctive compositions. Influences in BAXTY's sound derive from an array of bands notably, DREAM THEATER, THE CONTORTIONIST, ALICE IN CHAINS, PANTERA and PINK FLOYD. 

In 2024, BAXTY independently released the debut EP Event Horizon and collaborated with Jordan Rudess (DREAM THEATER) performing guitar solos on "Into the Lair" and "Embers" from his album Permission to Fly. In the same year, BAXTY took to the stage opening for BABYMETAL in Chile during their Knotfest sideshow and opened two nights for DREAM THEATER at Movistar Arena, the largest indoor venue in Chile. In 2025, BAXTY performed at Guitar Universe Camp on invite from John Petrucci, and BAXTY launched The Baxty Signature Guitar model with Kiesel Guitars.
