Hailing from Kelowna, British Columbia, FREEZE THE FALL is a dynamic trio that has quickly carved a niche within the hard rock and metal scene. Formed in 2023, the band consists of Quinn Mitzel on guitar and vocals, Aria Becker on bass and backup vocals, and Jonah Goncalves on drums. ELEINE Announce New EP 'We Stand United' For September 5, 2025; Reveal "Never Forget (Live at Masters of Rock 2024)" Video

There must be an undying source of inspiration, creativity and endurance where Swedish metal institution ELEINE originate from. How else would you explain non-stop touring - including their 2024/2025 debut headline run - and releasing four full-length albums, two electric and even an acoustic EP since their foundation in 2014? While they’re working on studio album no. 5, ELEINE didn’t want to let their fellowship wait even longer and therefore announce the release of a brand new EP today. Rewarding those without the band wouldn’t be what it is today - their endlessly supportive fan base - the Swedish outfit will put out We Stand United on September 5, 2025 via Reigning Phoenix Music, concurring with the first date of the Domination European tour which will see ELEINE enter the stages as special guests to German metal commandos PRIMAL FEAR.

The self-produced offering was recorded at Studio Bohus in Kungälv, Sweden before ELEINE handed the new material to trusted mixing/mastering engineer Thomas “Plec” Johansson (The Panic Room Studio). Finally layouted by Madeleine, the EP’s artwork was crafted by the band’s long-time partner Nestor Avalos alongside the front-woman.
 
Despite delivering brand new music, an unknown live recording is leading the way to the release of We Stand United, which once again refers to the special connection between ELEINE and their supporters.

EXILED HOPE Unleashes "Forbidden Majesties"

Critically acclaimed symphonic metal artist EXILED HOPE has unleashed a lyric video for her stunning track "Forbidden Majesties". The song is taken from her album Apocrypha which released digitally on April 11th, 2025.

Sofia Frasz, the mastermind behind the project, commented, "I rerecorded the guitar parts for this song multiple times before I was finally happy with them. This was the first time I experimented with a more rhythmic playing style, and while it took some getting used to, it finally feels natural. “Forbidden Majesties” is both atmospheric and intense, and briefly dips into a soft cinematic style reminiscent of “Deathslayer” during the bridge. It ties together all the different threads, from heavier styles to lighter styles, that I’ve woven throughout the album and feels like a natural conclusion, leaving the door open for further stylistic exploration."

About EXILED HOPE:

Multi-instrumentalist Sofia Frasz established EXILED HOPE in 2019, and draws musical inspiration from the likes of AVANTASIA, NIGHTWISH, KAMELOT and CRADLE OF FILTH to name a few. EXILED HOPE’s releases all take place in the same fictional universe and combine to form a dark fantasy metal opera. Each album centers on a character dealing with both an internal and external conflict in this world, and the lyrics explore how they navigate those conflicts. PRIMAL FEAR Unveil Fiery New Music Video In Support Of 'Domination'; Second Single, "The Hunter," Streaming Now

Less than three months before their new album Domination hits the shelves (September 5, 2025 via Reigning Phoenix Music), German metal frontrunners PRIMAL FEAR shift up another gear with "The Hunter". The second single from the record tells a conceived story while it musically sounds the attack for the quintet’s upcoming record.
 
Being also the opening track of Domination, the track builds up tension with anthemic lead harmonies before bursting drums and guitars break through the idyll to set the tone for another highly melodic piece from PRIMAL FEAR’s musical forge. The single additionally cements the thoroughly positive impression the group left with first single "Far Away", which saw them introduce their striking new line-up.
 
“Science fiction scenery, the beast is behind you, it’s me, I’m THE HUNTER, so better watch out, I smell your blood and I’m gonna get you!” warns vocalist Ralf Scheepers grinningly.

Picking up the dystopian theme of the single, director Patric Ullaeus (IN FLAMES, AMARANRATHE, EVERGREY etc.) placed the band -- Scheepers, bassist/vocalist Mat Sinner, guitarists Thalìa Bellazecca and Magnus Karlsson, and drummer André Hilgers -- in ruined environment to create a ‘metal as f**k’ music video where they find themselves surrounded by hellfire.

OPETH Present Official "§1" Band Performance Video

Swedish 2025 Grammi winners OPETH are pleased to unveil a full-on band performance video for "§1." The track is taken from their current success album The Last Will And Testament (released on November 22, 2024 through Moderbolaget / Reigning Phoenix Music), which was highly praised by press and fans alike and saw frontman Mikael Åkerfeldt return to growling vocal territory for the first time in 16 years. Their new material has additionally been warmly welcomed during their ongoing world tour, which is why the video arrives right in time as their touring cycle commences at the legendary Sweden Rock Festival today.
 
Åkerfeldt states: “So here’s a video (of sorts) for your ‘enjoyment.’ We had requests left, right & centre to do one of them measly ‘lyric videos’ or ‘visualizers’ for ‘content.’ Now, right there are three words I despise! I’ve made it clear in our circle of trust that we shouldn’t use the word ‘content’ even if that’s exactly what we’re working on. We’re not some goddamn influencers, now are we? So can we please settle on the old-fashioned word ‘video’ without meddling with modern online lingo? And a video is what it really is. A performance video, no less. We figured it’s a bit more happening to look at (should you decide to do so) than a lyric video. ‘§1’ is the opener on “The Last Will And Testament.” A good song. I like it! The video looks good. As good as it can look when involving 5 middle-aged, slightly hungover geezers miming along to something. We shot it in some industrial area in Birmingham (UK) on the latest Euro tour. Everyone (well, the band and crew) were quite eager to get out of there as we had dinner planned at a fancy curry house locally. OPETH’s 14th album was written by Åkerfeldt, with lyrics conferred with Klara Rönnqvist Fors (THE HEARD, ex-CRUCIFIED BARBARA). The Last Will And Testament was co-produced by Åkerfeldt and Stefan Boman (GHOST, THE HELLACOPTERS), engineered by Boman, Joe Jones (KILLING JOKE, ROBERT PLANT), and OPETH, with Boman, Åkerfeldt, and the rest of the band mixing at Atlantis and Hammerthorpe Studios in Stockholm. The strings on The Last Will And Testament were arranged by Åkerfeldt and Dave Stewart (EGG, KHAN) and conducted by Stewart at Angel Studios in London. Not one to miss a beat, visual artist Travis Smith returns to the fold, crafting his 11th cover, a haunting ‘photograph’ reminiscent of Stanley Kubrick's infamous Overlook Hotel photograph. Miles Showell (ABBA, QUEEN) also revisits mastering and vinyl lacquer cutting at Abbey Road Studios in London.
 
Åkerfeldt rolls out the red carpet for storied flutist and JETHRO TULL leader Ian Anderson. Not only do Anderson’s signature notes fly on "§4" and "§7," he narrates on "§1," "§2," "§4," and "§7." Joining Anderson, EUROPE’s Joey Tempest lends a backing vocal hand on "§2," while Åkerfeldt's youngest daughter, Mirjam Åkerfeldt, is the disembodied voice in "§1."
 
The Last Will And Testament is gripping from start to finish, jaw-dropping inside and out, representing some of OPETH’s finest material to date. Just as OPETH welcomed many into its distressed arms over the years, the Swedes again deliver on the promise that great music always tells a compelling story - this time with growls we had not heard since the 2008 Watershed.

Wise Blood Records presents the mind-blowing new album from Seattle metallic hardcore outfit TURIAN. Blood Quantum Blues blends the band’s explosive hardcore with a fresh palette of influences, making it one of the most vibrant, unique, and powerful heavy albums in recent memory.

“We are always trying to push ourselves and make better music, so we are never married to a sound or ideology,” shares guitarist Ryan Metztli-Moon. “A big push for us on this record was to make exactly the music we wanted to hear and not compromise on anything until we were all happy with it. That ultimately encompasses an enormous amount of influences and ideas.”

“This is the first album where we truly feel like ourselves,” adds drummer Andrew Nyte. “Up until this point, we were searching for our voice, but the influences were always there. Specifically, we wanted to bring electronic production into the mix, since a couple of us have been making electronic music longer than making metal. I think that was a huge change for us and one that felt completely natural.”

As their riffs smash tyranny, vocalist Vern Metztli-Moon guides the album through a blood-soaked history of American violence and oppression. “As a Yaqui Indian, this album is about my ancestors, acknowledging their unheard grief and our transcendental connection to one another,” Vern Moon explains. “It’s also about my decision to confront and break cycles of destruction caused by multiple generations of colonial genocide.”

Blood Quantum Blues is both a standout metallic hardcore album and a weapon of retribution. Wise Blood and TURIAN will release the album June 6th on CD, Cassette, and Digital formats.

AMORPHIS Unveil Lyric Video For New Single "Light And Shadow"; 'Borderland' Album Pre-Orders Available Now

Following the announcement of their 15th studio album Borderland, Finnish metal icons AMORPHIS release the first single from their forthcoming opus today. "Light And Shadow," which can also be interpreted as a metaphor of the album title in the sense of counter-play between two parties close to each other, wins over listeners right away with an uplifting piano intro, enriched by an electronic sound tapestry. As the song unfolds, it transforms into a driving, mythic anthem of self-discovery, a powerful reminder of why AMORPHIS remain unrivalled in crafting melancholic majesty.
 
Santeri Kallio, who wrote the music, adds: “I threw my brain into the closet and went with the flow - without stressing about opinions. I didn’t want to repeat the old nor copy what we’ve already done before. After recording four albums in a row in Sweden, Hansen Studios (Jacob Hansen, Denmark; VOLBEAT, AMARANTHE, PRIMAL FEAR etc.) were the destination of choice in late 2024 and early 2025. The album artwork was designed by Dutch artist Marald Van Haasteren (METALLICA, BLACK SABBATH, KVELERTAK, ALCEST etc.) this time.
 
Besides newly collaborating with Hansen and Van Haasteren, AMORPHIS still rely on the lyrical craftsmanship of Pekka Kainulainen, who’s been courageously writing for the band since their 2007 offering Silent Waters. About his inspiration for Borderland Kainulainen comments: “The generations that came here before us, our ancestors, also had to face death and destruction. Honouring the mythologies of mankind, as well as the listeners of AMORPHIS, I wrote lyrics that hopefully convey some of the humility and strength that mankind has always depended on.”
 With Borderland, the title of the album couldn’t have been chosen more fittingly. Throughout their career, spanning over more than three decades, AMORPHIS -- Tomi Joutsen (vocals), Esa Holopainen (guitars), Tomi Koivusaari (guitars), Olli-Pekka Laine (bass), Santeri Kallio (keyboards) & Jan Rechberger (drums & percussion) -- have been an ever-evolving act, wandering on an exciting boundary-pushing path. From their sinister death metal debut Karelian Isthmus over genre-defining mid-90s melodic death works like Tales From The Thousand Lakes andElegy as well as the melodic 2000’s grandeur of Eclipse or Skyforger to records combining the very best of all prior eras to refreshing new soundscapes (f.e. Under The Red Cloud or Queen Of Time): Whatever this group works on promises long-range success.
 
With 2022’s Halo, the Finn’s were rewarded for their researching musical approach once again: The album marked AMORPHIS’ sixth no. 1 album in Finland, even cracked the top 3 of the official German album chart, and last but not least the sextet took home two awards from the prestigious Emma Gaala (“Band of the Year” & “Export of the Year”).
 
The impact of Halo became a driving force for what’s to come. Rather than rushing into a follow-up, the band chose to step back from live performances and focus fully on their next chapter. OUT NOW From Horrenda -Díoltas

In a powerful fusion of Irish mythology and unbridled metal ferocity, HORRENDA’s 2020 album Díoltas is set to conquer the U.S. with its upcoming physical release. The Dublin-based extreme metal band, known for their intense blending of black and death metal with atmospheric elements, first captured the attention of the underground metal scene with their explosive live performances and innovative sound.

Formed in 2015 by Darragh "Outis" O'Connor, HORRENDA quickly evolved from a solo project into a six-member ensemble that channels raw black metal, death metal, and a unique infusion of Irish folklore. Their live shows, notorious for their chaotic energy and punk-hardcore influences, have earned them a dedicated following and a regular spot at Ireland’s largest metal festival, Siege of Limerick. 

Díoltas, translating to "Revenge" in Irish, is HORRENDA’s most ambitious work to date. The album weaves a dark tapestry of themes ranging from ancient vengeance to the modern decay of Ireland, explored through the lens of Irish history and mythology. 

The opening track, "Balor", named after the Irish mythological giant and god of destruction, sets a foreboding tone, driven by aggressive guitar riffs and relentless drumming. True to its name, “Fétide” is a festering blast of sonic brutality - an ever-evolving composition where no riff is played more than twice, save for the crushing final passage. The track refuses to settle, instead spiraling through dissonance and controlled chaos with surgical precision.

Lyrically, the band plunges listeners into the grotesque mindscape of a deformed man imprisoned and paraded as a sideshow attraction, exposing humanity’s darkest voyeuristic instincts. The accompanying video amplifies this narrative with stark, unsettling imagery that mirrors the song’s themes of exploitation, alienation, and raw despair.

La Suspendida Live is set to arrive on May 30th, 2025. The recorded performance of the jazz metal opera at Le Forum (Vauréal, France) on November 16th, 2023, will be available in video form. This is in conjunction with the live tracks releasing on streaming platforms and physical formats via Excursus Production / Silent Pendulum Records. This production is not just a performance; it’s a collision of worlds—a blend of the raw power of metal, the precision of classical opera, and the adventurous spirit of experimental jazz.

Directed by David Unger, who described the shoot as, “The most mind-blowing shoot I’ve directed in recent years: the first Metal opera in history! (Filmed with 8 cameras, including a crane and a Ronin—let me tell you, it was a blast!)” La Suspendida Live captures a story and soundscape like no other.

The vision was brought to life by Laurent David, bassist and producer, who led his experimental jazz trio KILTER to collaborate with an incredible array of artists. On stage, you’ll witness operatic soprano Andromeda Anarchia, the Montreal-based GROWLERS CHOIR (whose guttural metal vocals hit like the roar of an ancient beast), and the string quartet SEVEN)SUNS. Visual artistry and storytelling intertwine, thanks to stage direction by Jacques David, illustrations by Julie Castro-Grohowki, and a libretto penned by Metropolitan Opera’s William Berger. The entire production pulses with a light show designed by Mathieu Derothe-Renaud that feels like a living heartbeat for the story.

The live release of La Suspendida is more than a performance—it’s an exploration of boundaries, both artistic and existential. Capturing this moment was about bringing the energy of metal, the depth of opera, and the power of storytelling to life in a way that resonates deeply with audiences. It’s a celebration of what happens when genres collide and transform together on stage.

English thrash metal legends ONSLAUGHT return in full force with their blistering new release, Origins Of Aggression, out now via Reigning Phoenix Music. Leading the charge is the newly recorded version of "Thermonuclear Devastation Of The Planet Earth" - a scorched-earth anthem packed with apocalyptic riffage. First appearing on the band’s debut album Power From Hell, released in 1985, the track has been re-recorded for Origins Of Aggression to mark the 40th anniversary of ONSLAUGHT’s explosive entry into the metal scene. Four decades later, its message feels just as urgent and relevant as it did back then - if not more so.

Nige Rockett comments: “‘Thermo...’ is the very first song myself and Paul Hill ever wrote for ONSLAUGHT when we formed the band in 1982 and it’s still a very important / integral part of the live show right up to this day as it never fails to induce complete chaos within the crowds. One real highlight I remember was performing it at the Katacombes [R.I.P.] venue in Montreal, Canada. I kid you not, every single person in the venue turned the place into one awesome/brutal circle pit, it was absolutely insane. We still get one massive buzz playing this song live, it has such an incredible energy and a very cool back story to go with it…!”
