RAZORWIRE HALO Take On NINE INCH NAILS Classic with Haunting New Cover Of "SOMETHING I CAN NEVER HAVE"

"When approaching the cover of "Something I Can Never Have", our goal was not to reinvent the song, but to honor what made it special while incorporating elements of our own musical identity. We stayed closely aligned with the original piano and synth-driven foundation, preserving the mood and intimacy that define the track. At the same time, we introduced our own stylistic touches through the performance, production and overall sonic texture to create a version that feels both familiar and uniquely ours."

The recording process focused heavily on atmosphere and emotion. We wanted every piano note, synth layer, and vocal phrase to contribute to the emotional journey of the song. Rather than overcomplicating the arrangement, we concentrated on capturing the sense of longing and reflection that has made the original such a timeless piece. Finding the right balance between staying faithful to the source material and expressing our own artistic voice was the most important part of the process.

Covering "Something I Can Never Have" was an opportunity to pay tribute to a song that has inspired us for years, and we are excited to share our interpretation with listeners who have loved the original as much as we do.

RAZORWIRE HALO has never been a band afraid to embrace darkness, vulnerability, and raw emotion. Now, the band is paying tribute to one of the most influential acts in alternative and industrial rock history with their powerful new rendition of the Nine Inch Nails classic, "Something I Can Never Have."

Originally appearing on Nine Inch Nails' groundbreaking 1989 debut Pretty Hate Machine, the song has long stood as one of Trent Reznor's most emotionally devastating compositions. Rather than simply recreate the original, RAZORWIRE HALOdigs deep into the song's haunting core, delivering a version that is both respectful of its legacy and unmistakably their own.

From the opening notes, RAZORWIRE HALO transforms the familiar track into a cinematic journey of heartbreak, obsession, loss, and longing. Atmospheric textures, crushing dynamics, and emotionally charged vocals breathe new life into a song that has resonated with listeners for generations.

Merrimack Cover Depeche Mode’s “Wrong”

Veteran French black metal band Merrimack are releasing a cover of “Wrong” by Depeche Mode. Originally appearing on the UK synth-pop band’s 2009 album Sounds of the Universe, “Wrong” reached the Top 10 in nine countries and peaked at Number #1 on the U.S. Billboard Dance Club Songs chart. While faithful to the original, Merrimack’s cover is black metal in every breath.

Merrimack’s cover of “Wrong” is rooted in long-standing devotion. Guitarist, Perversifier, who proposed the cover to his bandmates, describes Depeche Mode as having "only grown better over the years". He singles out "Wrong" for "already carrying more darkness than even Black Metal rarely reaches."

Merrimack recorded their cover of “Wrong” during the sessions for  their 2012 album The Acausal Mass. The cover was shelved for more than a decade before the band returned to record vocals. Perversifier says their cover "highlights just how dark the original song already is". They preserved all the notes from the original, only bringing "the level of violence that Black Metal can bring”. Where Depeche Mode channel obsessive self-negation through cold synth-pop, Merrimack strip away any distance the original might have offered.

Although MERRIMACK decided to reach out to a larger audience with the release of their first full-length 'Ashes of Purification', the Parisians did not sever their roots with the underground at any time. With the following albums, 'Of Entropy and Life Denial' (2006) and 'Grey Rigorism' (2009), MERRIMACK closed ranks with the most influential, active, and authentic acts of the French black metal scene. Their classic combination of harsh sound with epic structures appealed to critics and fans alike and put the band on their celebrated first US tour with MARDUK and NACHTMYSTIUM in 2009.

After recording 'The Acausal Mass' (2012) in the legendary Necromorbus Studio (WATAIN, DESTRÖYER 666) again, MERRIMACK embarked on a European tour with Norwegian icons MAYHEM and accepted invitations to prestigious festivals such as Hellfest in their native France, Germany's Party-San Open Air and Summer Breeze as well as Montreal's Messe des Morts in Canada. With their latest album, 'Omegaphilia', MERRIMACK were breathing fresh life into an exhausted genre. While ignoring epithets such as progressive, post-, and avant-garde, the French focused on razor-sharp songwriting, captivating melodies, and close to perfect arrangements.

ANGELS ON THE BATTLEFIELD Present Epic Interpretation Of ALICE COOPER's "Poison" Feat. ANTHEA

ANGELS ON THE BATTLEFIELD has unleashed an epic and cinematic reimagining of ALICE COOPER's iconic track "Poison". This release sees the symphonic progressive metal ensemble join forces with Los Angeles based symphonic/melodic metal band, ANTHEA.

The alluring gothic mood of "Poison" is enhanced through ANGELS ON THE BATTLEFIELD's immersive musical arrangement. Intensity arises from the ferocious heaviness of the metal instrumentation while orchestral and synth layers sculpt an enveloping atmosphere. Haunting harmonies and technical prowess on display from ANTHEA's vocalists Diego Valadez, Juna Pina, Astrid Anaya, and Mel Del Real elevate the track with a touch of the ethereal.

ANGELS ON THE BATTLEFIELD honor the character and impact of the original song while infusing the arrangement their own distinctive compositional qualities. Produced by ANGELS ON THE BATTLEFIELD, "Poison" was recorded at Counter Communications with engineering, mixing and mastering by Chris Wirsig. The track's cover art was created by JD McGibney.

About ANGELS ON THE BATTLEFIELD:

Based out of Los Angeles, CA, ANGELS ON THE BATTLEFIELD began as a side project for guitarist JD McGibney (ex-VOODOO KUNGFU) before augmenting to a full line-up in 2021. Alongside McGibney, the instrumental symphonic progressive metal band is now comprised of Jason Klein on bass (ex-BUTCHER BABIES), Eddie Trager on drums (ex-NEKROGOBLIKON) and Chris Wirsig on keyboards (award winning TV and film composer).

The ethos of the band is to empower listeners through music, to assist individuals who are fighting on their own battlefields and to help them find courage. ANGELS ON THE BATTLEFIELD strive to improve awareness of and discourse around mental illness through the power of heavy metal. The band made their live debut at the 2022 "This Is My Brave" mental health fundraiser, where the band helped to raise around $30,000 to donate to local Los Angeles mental health charities.

2024 saw ANGELS ON THE BATTLEFIELD open for Taiwanese folk metal artist NiNi at her debut USA headline show in November of 2024. In the following year, the quartet embarked on their debut headline West Coast tour across October/November of 2025.

In 2025, ANGELS ON THE BATTLEFIELD's 2024 single release "Modern Prometheus" was long listed in the 2025 GRAMMY Awards in three categories: Best Metal Performance, Best Instrumental Composition and Best Arrangement - Instrumental or A Capella. Additionally, "Modern Prometheus" was nominated in the Hollywood Independent Music Awards in 2025.

Following the band's haunting interpretation of "Phantom of the Opera" featuring guitarist Eli Santana (IGNITE, ex-HUNTRESS, ex-HOLY GRAIL), ANGELS ON THE BATTLEFIELD deliver untamable power in the new single "Poison" featuring ANTHEA.

Power Metal Warriors WARKINGS Release Cover of "Live is Life" — WATCH + LISTEN

Power metal warriors WARKINGS celebrate their energetic shows with a new single: Their cover of "Live is Life" honors fellow Austrians Opus. Originally released in 1984, the song became an international hit. Similarly, WARKINGS stormed the top 10 of the German and Austrian charts with their latest album, Armageddon, released in the summer of 2025. Now, the quintet turns "Live is Life" into a power metal anthem with a charming '80s vibe — headbanging to this will leave you with a melody stuck in your head.

Of course, WARKINGS are using their new live anthem to expand their legions this summer. Their latest campaign will lead them to various European festival grounds—among them, Copenhell, Alcatraz, and Elbriot. Find the full list of dates below!

The Tribune about "Live is Life":
"When we forged our own WARKINGS version of 'Live is Life,' we never expected it to become such a massive anthem. But once we played it live on tour, our warriors and shield maidens in the crowd sang every word with us—and from that moment, we knew this song had become part of our battle hymn arsenal. The energy and the unity—it was impossible to ignore. This song belongs to our legion as much as to us."

Watch the Official Video for "Live is Life" Below:

Since their formation in 2018, WARKINGS have cemented their place in the power metal scene. They have conquered festival stages, played alongside legends like Powerwolf, Hammerfall, and Subway To Sally, and built a devoted fanbase that has chanted their anthems at Europe's biggest stages, including Wacken Open Air.

The five warriors in WARKINGS have once again taken up their weapons to bring the legends of their past to life with mighty power metal anthems. Each of them carries the memories of great battles within, and now, the time has come to unleash these stories upon the world alongside the indomitable sorceress Morgana le Fay. The band's fifth album, Armageddon, is a journey through some of history's most pivotal conquests—moments where warriors stood firm, empires crumbled, and the world was forever changed.

WARKINGS comment:
"Armageddon is not just the end — it's the moments in history that changed the world forever. This album is a tribute to the warriors and shieldmaidens who faced the battles that shaped their world."

Legendary Hard Rockers TESLA Share Cover of Queen's "Spread Your Wings" + Official Video

Today, the acclaimed American hard rock band TESLA is proud to share a new cover of Queen's 1977 classic, "Spread Your Wings," taken from their upcoming album, 'Homage,' set for release on July 17, 2026, via Frontiers Music Srl. Marking a full-circle moment in their storied career, the album finds the band returning to their roots with a collection of covers honoring some of rock’s most timeless hits.

Bassist, keyboardist, pianist, and backing vocalist Brian Wheat shares:

"'Spread Your Wings' for me was the song I always wanted to record by Queen. I always felt it was the one song they had in their catalog that should’ve been a massive hit, but wasn’t because it was overshadowed by 'We Are the Champions' and 'We Will Rock You' on the'News of the World' album. It was also a song written by John Deacon, who was the band's secret weapon and whom not many people talk about, the quiet one, shall we say."

Watch the Official Video for “Spread Your Wings” below:

It is remarkable to reflect on the more than 40 years since TESLA began as a cover band performing in California nightclubs before going on to write and record original material and sell millions of albums.

Much like their musical heroes — The Beatles and The Rolling Stones—artists who honed their craft by performing songs from those who came before them, TESLA followed a similar path in their early years and continues to embrace the tradition of paying tribute through cover songs today.

‘Homage,’ the band’s upcoming album, not only honors legendary artists but also provides an opportunity to showcase lead singer Jeff Keith's vocal diversity. The album stands as a thank-you expressed through music, an offering to the iconic voices and songs that shaped the band’s influences and, ultimately, their own songwriting.

'Homage' is not about imitation, but acknowledgment, tracing the line from influence to identity, from listening to becoming. The project also arrives more than 20 years after the ‘Real to Reel’ series, a release that helped inspire the creation of a new original TESLA song, “Never Alone.”

The selected songs on 'Homage' were chosen for a variety of reasons, primarily representing some of the greatest vocalists of all time, including Elvis PresleyFreddie MercurySam CookeDavid RuffinEtta James, and James Brown. Additional selections reflect songs the band grew up hearing on the radio and on their turntables.

On the upcoming album, TESLA shares:

"Our new album 'Homage' is a thank-you note written in sound. An offering to the great singers and songs that shaped the music we grew up listening to, and the songs we would eventually write. We hope you all enjoy this as much as we did making it. Thank you for all the years - Keep it Real and Keep On Rockin'!"

A High-Octane Re-imagining of the Classic June Carter & Johnny Cash Anthem Arrives Alongside a Cinematic World Premiere Video and a Massive Hollywood Showcase at The Viper Room

On Thursday, May 21, Blacklist Union unleashes their blistering new version of “Jackson,” the legendary June Carter & Johnny Cash classic, featuring none other than rock icon Lorraine Lewis of Femme Fatale. The track is already being hailed as a full-throttle “barn burner” destined to set radio stations ablaze worldwide.

The release arrives with the world premiere of the official music video directed by Paul Crosby (formerly of SALIVA) and produced by Chris Johnson, known for his work with Evanescence, Hans Zimmer, and more.

Pre-Save "Jackson" HERE

But that’s only the beginning.

Later that same night, Blacklist Union will storm the stage at The Viper Room for “Tommy London Presents The $5 Rock Show,” delivering what promises to be one of Hollywood’s wildest rock events of the year.

The stacked lineup includes:

  • BLACKLIST UNION

  • Ten Ton Mojo

  • Chad Stewart's Party Ninjas

  • Honor Among Thieves

  • Mursic

And in a moment fans won’t forget, Lorraine Lewis herself will join Tony West and Blacklist Union live onstage for a scorching performance of “Jackson.”

Joining Tony West for the night are:

  • Dee Hayes - Rhythm Guitar

  • Jimi Zolo - Lead Guitar

  • Nick Mason - Drums

  • Cordell Crockett - Bass

  • Jacob Cohan

The event also serves as the official launchpad for BLACKLIST UNION'S upcoming European tour this September as direct support for Faster Pussycat — a collision of legendary Hollywood sleaze and a dangerous new generation of dirty rock energy.

Tony West says, “Everything that is happening right now is like walking through the keyhole to my biggest dreams. I’m here to bring the wow factor and the fire to the firefight… so let’s rock this shit.”

Lorraine Lewis adds, “Working with Tony has been icing on the cake for me. Having newly signed with Cleopatra Records, FEMME FATALE is slated to release our full album in August, produced by Steve Brown. The timing couldn’t be more perfect for the FASTER PUSSYCAT / BLACKLIST UNION tour.”

“On tour I’ll be kicking off the night with my own brand of rock n’ roll, but I’m honored and grateful to share the stage with these killer front men — Taime Downe and Tony West. Faster Pussycat is such a legit and iconic Hollywood band, and Blacklist Union is a new breed of dirty Hollywood. Both bands have killer songs and hooks, and to be included with these bad boys… I’m over the moon.”

With Femme Fatale’s upcoming Cleopatra Records release produced by Steve Brown — known for his work with Trixter and Ace Frehley — and Blacklist Union gearing up for a massive European run, all signs point to a breakout moment for both camps.

Mark your calendars for Thursday, May 21st!

The single.
The video.
The chaos.
The fire.

Hollywood rock n’ roll just found its next anthem.

BLOODHUNTER Release Video for Cover Version of ANNIHILATOR's “Human Insecticide”!

Following the recent release of their latest single “Threshold Of Hell” featuring Fernando Ribeiro of MOONSPELL, Spanish melodic death metal act BLOODHUNTER have unveiled a brand-new music video for their crushing cover version of Annihilator’s classic “Human Insecticide”!

The track will appear on the band’s highly anticipated upcoming studio album Sons Of The Abandoned, set for release on June 12 via ROAR - A Division of Reigning Phoenix Music. In addition, BLOODHUNTER have announced a series of Spanish tour dates as special guest to CRYPTA. All upcoming shows can be found below!

Speaking about the single, guitarist Dani Arcos comments:
“It’s a carefree, fun, and very raw song by Annihilator that I think fits well at BLOODHUNTER.”

Vocalist Diva Satanica adds:
“A classic from this thrash band that it’s very convenient due to the current worldwide political events that was super hard to sing for me due to its speedy verses. I had a blast singing through it!"

Stream “Human Insecticide”: https://bloodhunter.rpm.link/humanPR

Formed in Galicia, BLOODHUNTER have steadily carved their name into the international extreme metal scene through relentless touring, uncompromising sound and a clear artistic vision. Fronted by Diva Satanica, the band blends extreme metal aggression with melodic depth, groove and narrative ambition, forging a sound that is both ferocious and emotionally charged.

Since their inception, BLOODHUNTER have stood out for their conceptual approach and strong identity. Their music has always balanced brutality with atmosphere, drawing from themes such as ancient civilizations, power, human conflict and transcendence. Over the years, the band has evolved naturally, refining their songwriting and pushing beyond genre boundaries without losing their aggressive core.

Sons Of The Abandoned, produced by Tue Madsen, marks a turning point in BLOODHUNTER’s career. It is their most personal and honest album so far, shifting the focus inward to explore identity, vulnerability, personal struggle and the cost of pursuing one’s own path. For the first time, the lyrics speak directly from the heart, addressing inner demons, toxic environments, generational disconnection and the feeling of being lost in a world driven by individuality and superficial values. Musically, the album expands the band’s palette. Crushing riffs coexist with elegant grooves and striking melodic passages, while sharp contrasts define the songwriting: rage against beauty, speed against atmosphere, darkness against clarity.

With Sons Of The Abandoned, BLOODHUNTER solidify themselves as a band unafraid to evolve, challenge expectations and expose their own scars. This is not just another extreme metal album, it is a statement of identity, resistance and survival in a world that constantly demands compromise.

Arena Releases Re-Imagined Version of Lou Gramm's "Just Between You and Me" via Retro Synth Records

Alt/Pop/Synthwave artist Arena returns with a powerful re-imagining of Lou Gramm’s iconic hit “Just Between You and Me,” delivering a modern, synth-driven take on the classic track while honoring its timeless heart. The song was produced by Justin "JD" deBlieck (Ice Nine Kills).

“Covering 'Just Between You and Me' honestly meant a lot to me. Being from Rochester, NY and growing up knowing that a voice as legendary as Lou Gramm came from the same place—it hits different. There’s a real pride in that. I didn’t want to just cover the song, I wanted to do it justice while bringing my own sound into it. It’s one of those moments where everything just feels aligned," says Arena.

The collaboration marks a full-circle moment for Arena, who has been driven by music from a young age. Picking up his first guitar at the age of 10, Joey Arenaknew there was no “Plan B”—music was his calling. By 17, he was already a road-seasoned performer, playing night after night and steadily building a loyal fanbase. Hailing from Rochester, NY—a city that’s produced household names like Lou Gramm and Steve Gadd—Arena’s musical journey is deeply rooted in a city rich with artistry and influence.

"Just Between You and Me" is now available on all major streaming platforms via Retro Synth Records.

"Just Between You and Me" can be Streamed/Downloaded here:

https://hypeddit.com/uv0bdj

WATCH "Just Between You And Me" Official Music Video Below:

Arena is the neon-lit solo synthwave project of Joey Arena, blending cinematic 80s nostalgia with modern polish and emotional depth. Drawing inspiration from the golden age of analog synths, arena rock, and late-night cityscapes, Arena delivers a sound that feels both timeless and urgent—like a soundtrack to a memory you never lived, but somehow remember.

The project made an immediate impact with its debut single—a reimagined cover of "Dreams" by Van Halen—which caught the attention and endorsement of rock icon Sammy Hagar himself. That early recognition set the tone for Arena’s trajectory: honoring legends while carving out a distinct sonic identity.

Building on that momentum, Arena went on to release three singles under a subsidiary of Warner Music Group, further cementing the project’s place in the modern synthwave and retro revival scene. Arena continued bridging generations with a powerful cover of "No Easy Way Out"—featuring original artist Robert Tepper—bringing new life to an iconic anthem.

Now, Arena returns with a deeply personal release: a synth-driven reinterpretation of

"Just Between You and Me" by fellow Rochester, New York native Lou Gramm. It’s a full-circle moment—paying homage to hometown roots while pushing the sound forward into new territory.

With each release, Arena continues to blur the lines between past and present—reviving the spirit of arena rock through a synthwave lens, and proving that some sounds never fade… they evolve.

In observance of legendary outlaw country singer Merle Haggard’s birthday today, April 6, Jamey Johnson is honoring his memory with a cover of Haggard’s 2010 release, “Pretty When It’s New.” Produced by The Kent Hardly Playboys and recorded at The Moose Lodge, with T.W. Cargile serving as engineer, Johnson’s version of “Pretty When It’s New” is available everywhere now. Listen Below.

Haggard was born on this day in 1937 and died on this same date ten years ago at age 79. One of the most important figures in the history of country music, the California native was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1994 and the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1977.

Haggard also received a Kennedy Center Honor in 2010, and Johnson was among those who honored him, performing “Ramblin’ Fever” with Willie Nelson and Kid Rock.

Bobby Bare introduced Johnson to Haggard during a party in 2008, and later they were both booked on a show in Hodag, WI.  Haggard invited Johnson to spend time with him on his bus and they became fast friends. Haggard would call him, sometimes at 3 a.m., to talk about music, musicians, fishing, the military, or whatever was on his mind.

Johnson performed with Haggard numerous times, such as the memorable collaboration during the 2012 Ohio State Fair, where Johnson joined Haggard on “Long Black Veil,” a performance that some said signified the passing of the torch—two generations of outlaw-leaning country artists sharing a classic. Around this time, the two also performed “Heaven Was a Drink of Wine” during a Haggard concert.

Haggard and Willie Nelson recorded “It’s All Going to Pot,” written by Johnson, Buddy Cannon and Larry Shell, for their 2015 album Django & Jimmie. The light-hearted song became a fan favorite from their final collaboration together.

Haggard and Johnson recorded “I Fall to Pieces” for Johnson’s 2012 album, Livin’ for a Song: A Tribute to Hank Cochran

Johnson often performed Haggard’s songs during his show, including “Mama Tried” and “I Think I’ll Just Stay Here and Drink.” After Haggard’s death, Johnson filled in for Haggard on the nine dates that had been planned with Nelson.

Rolling Stone asked Johnson to write a tribute to Haggard after his death and published it in April 2016.

Johnson wrote, “Merle Haggard was a mentor to me. But more than that, he cared about me. He wanted to make sure I learned something from him—not just the music, not just the lifestyle, but something good. You’ve heard it said, ‘You give a man a fish, he eats for a day. You teach a man to fish, he eats for a lifetime.’ Merle taught me how to make music, and that’s how I make my living and feed my family today. I couldn’t owe anybody a greater debt of gratitude than I owe Merle Haggard.”

About Jamey Johnson
Award-winning singer/songwriter Jamey Johnson has served as country music’s north star for nearly two decades, inspiring a generation of artists with his unforgettable albums that have built a bridge connecting traditional country with the music of today.

The 10-time GRAMMY nominee has been called “one of the greatest country singers of our time,” by The Washington Post. As rock legend Don Henley says, Johnson is “the nearest thing” we have to late country icon George Jones. His music has garnered international acclaim and is embraced by fans of classic and contemporary country, as well as Americana and mainstream rock.

The Grand Ole Opry member is also widely regarded as one of the greatest country songwriters of his generation. He is one of only two people in the history of country music (along with Kris Kristofferson) to win two Song of the Year awards in the same year – for “Give It Away” and “In Color” – from the Academy of Country Music and the Country Music Association

UADA Announces 'Devoid of Light (10th Anniversary Edition), Reveals Delays for 'Interwoven'

Enigmatic black metal masters UADA is celebrating the 10 year anniversary of their debut album, 'Devoid of Light,' with a special reissue! Originally released in 2016, 'Devoid of Light' remains a remarkably focused debut - just five tracks, a little over thirty minutes - and yet a fully formed statement. The 'Devoid of Light (10th Anniversary Edition)' returns in an expanded form. Remastered by Arthur Rizk, who previously handled mixing and mastering for UADA's sophomore album 'Cult of a Dying Sun' and mastering for the acoustic album 'Interwoven,' the material gains depth without losing the character of the original recordings. This edition also includes previously unseen photography by Peter Beste, alongside rare archival material, expanded liner notes, and an exclusive bonus track. It will be released on July 17, 2026 via Eisenwald in CD format and 3 vinyl color variations; it is now available for pre-orders HERE.

Moreover, UADA's upcoming acoustic album has been delayed. The original April 10 release date will still be honored digitally, but physical copies will not be shipped until late May due to delays at the manufacturing plant. The album represents an acoustic journey tracing one song from each chapter of UADA's discography as well as various covers from the bands who've inspired them. 'Interwoven' will also be released via Eisenwald and is now available for pre-orders HERE.

ICYMI: UADA recently unveiled a haunting version of ROME's "Der Brandtaucher." The release comes just before UADA embarks on their next North American journey alongside MORTIIS, in which Jerome Reuter’s ROME will be among the support. The song can be heard now below.

UADA comments, "Originally composed by Jerome Reuter and Patrick Damiani, this rendition was the final track chosen for Interwoven. Having followed Rome since 2008’s Masse Mensch Material, “Der Brandtaucher” held deep personal resonance, especially during the most difficult chapter of my life. Its inclusion was not simply artistic - it was necessary."

In addition, UADA has joined forces with industrial metal artist MORTIIS for a very special co-headliner, featuring exclusive anniversary sets and supporting performances by Jerome Reuter’s ROME and WRAITH KNIGHT. UADA will be performing their seminal 2016 debut album 'Devoid of Light' in its entirety + a special CERMONIAL CASTINGS 30-year anniversary set featuring Wraith Knight. In addition, MORTIIS shall be performing songs from his groundbreaking 2001 full-length, 'The Smell Of Rain,' along with other volumes of dystopian despair. The full itinerary can be found below while tickets are now available HERE.

Moreover, after much demand from fans, UADA will be returning to Milwaukee Metal Fest for the second time since leaving their mark during the 2024 edition. The festival will take place at The Rave/Eagle's Club from June 4 - 7, with UADA performing on the 7th. More info and tickets can be found HERE.

THE 69 EYES Announce New EP ‘I Survive’ Set For Release On June 5, 2026 Via BLKIIBLK

Finnish rock band THE 69 EYES is thrilled to announce their new EP ‘I Survive,’ set for release on June 5, 2026 via BLKIIBLK. To celebrate the announcement, the band shares a cover of the timeless Thin Lizzy hit “Cold Sweat.”

After touring Europe earlier this year with D-A-D on the Cowpunks & Glampires tour and continuing with shows in Finland, the new single is a fresh-sounding and hard-rocking take on the song, originally released in 1983.

THE 69 EYES version is produced by Erno Laitinen and mixed by Barry Pointer (Ozzy Osbourne, Mötley Crüe). The video for the song was filmed in January during the band's recent European tour. It features a cameo by Portuguese goth legend Fernando Ribeiro from Moonspell.

Vocalist Jyrki 69 comments:

“A friend of mine sent me our demo of 'Cold Sweat' from over ten years ago and asked why we never released it. After hearing the demo, Gabi Hakanen, head of Vallila Music House, said this is exactly THE 69 EYES at their best. Rock for the radio! Every respectable rock band also covers Thin Lizzy at some point, so now that is done as well.”

The band will continue touring in Finland until early April, after which they will return to the rest of Europe. See the updated tour dates HERE.

Watch the Official Video for "Cold Sweat" Below:

Once you’ve survived the 80’s rock scene, you become unstoppable - and THE 69 EYES are living proof. Formed in Helsinki in 1989 and still going strong with the same line-up some four decades later, the Helsinki Vampires have earned their legendary status.

In a world with fewer and fewer true believers in leather jackets, midnight sunglasses, and low-slung guitars, THE 69 EYES keep the Johnny Thunders flame burning like an endless sleazy club night back in the days.

Their biggest hit, “Lost Boys” from 2005, was made into an iconic music video by MTV's Jackass star and skater Bam Margera and remains on annual Halloween rock playlists.

One foot on glam, another one on goth, THE 69 EYES have released thirteen albums, reaching gold and platinum and a mainstream status in their native Finland, where they are signed to Gabi Hakanen’s Vallila Music House. Their previous studio album, ‘Death Of Darkness,’ was released in 2023, and they have been touring without any notable breaks all over the world for the last twenty years.

Vocals, a lead and a rhythm guitar, a bass, and drums are the classic rock band line-up. THE 69 EYES have that magic on stage that is needed for these elements to carry on beyond the rock'n'roll dreams, theirs and their cult following.

Pre-Order 'I Survive' HERE

THE 69 EYES are:

Jyrki 69 – Vocals

Bazie – Guitar, Backing Vocals

Timo-Timo – Guitar

Archzie – Bass, Backing Vocals

Jussi 69 – Drums

Lowlives Return With Cover of Garbage's "Only Happy When It Rains"

LOWLIVES aren't so much about carefully stoking the embers as pouring on gasoline with merry impetuosity. The band was founded on a shared love of '90s alternative and grunge, and a shared desire to make music for little more than the love of doing so.

They capture that musical spirit and mission statement wholly with their cover of the '90s alt x pop x rock smash "Only Happy When It Rains" by Garbage.

Watch the official video below

For this cover, the band has cranked up the guitars and sprinkled some additional grit, giving it the Lowlives' treatment, while remaining true to the spirit of the original.

"We've had a list of songs we’ve been wanting to cover for years, and 'Only Happy When It Rains' has always been at the top of it," the band states. "The song is about finding comfort in misery, and that's a theme that runs through a lot of what we write, so covering this song felt less like stepping outside our world and more like reinforcing it."

LOWLIVES ARE:
Lee Downer — Vocals/Guitar
Jaxon Moore — Guitar
Steve Lucarelli — Bass
Luke Johnson — Drums

Life of Agony Release Live Video for "Don't You (Forget About Me)" — A Darker Reimagining of Iconic "Breakfast Club" Hit

Brooklyn, NY's Metal Hall of Famers Life of Agony have released a powerful new live music video capturing their emotionally charged cover of "Don't You (Forget About Me)," the Simple Minds anthem made famous by its appearance in the 1985 John Hughes film The Breakfast Club.

Watch the video BELOW

See the exclusive premiere via SPIN here.

Filmed during the band's 30 Years of Ugly anniversary tour in Europe, the video captures Life of Agony at a defining moment in their career. While honoring the spirit of the original, the band delivers a distinctly Life of Agony–sounding interpretation — darker, heavier, and more emotionally weighty than the original recording, transforming the song into something raw, brooding, and deeply personal.

The video was filmed and directed by Leigh Brooks of Firebelly Films, a longtime visual collaborator who has also directed several Life of Agony music videos, as well as the band's acclaimed documentary The Sound of Scars. Brooks' immersive live-performance approach places viewers directly inside the venue, capturing the intense connection between band and crowd.

Audio for the performance was recorded, mixed, and mastered by Life of Agony guitarist Joey Zampella, delivering incredible clarity while preserving the grit and immediacy of the live experience.

"Even though our studio version of 'Don't You (Forget About Me)' appears on Ugly, we had never performed the song live until the 30 Years of Ugly anniversary tour," bassist Alan Robert shares. "Bringing it to the stage after all these years — and experiencing the live energy of the crowd — made the song one of the highlights of the set every night."

Originally released in 1985, "Don't You (Forget About Me)" defined a broken generation through The Breakfast Club, symbolizing youth, alienation, and connection — themes that have long aligned with Life of Agony's own body of work. This live rendition underscores the song’s enduring relevance while showcasing the band’s ability to fully claim and transform familiar material through their own uncompromising lens.

The live music video is available now across Life of Agony’s official platforms.

ABOUT LIFE OF AGONY:
For more than 30 years, Life of Agony have remained one of heavy music's most distinctive and emotionally resonant bands, revered for their vulnerability, authenticity, and genre-defying sound. Their landmark 1993 debut, River Runs Red, was named by Rolling Stone as one of the Greatest Metal Albums of All Time, cementing its legacy as a defining release of the era and an enduring influence on generations of artists across rock and metal.

Continuing to shape the landscape of heavy music decades into their career, Life of Agony was inducted into the Metal Hall of Fame in 2025, recognizing the band’s lasting cultural impact and contribution to the genre. Known for their powerful live performances and deeply personal songwriting, the band maintains a rare and deeply felt connection with audiences worldwide — one that has only strengthened over time.

IRON SAVIOR Unleash New Video For A-HA Classic "Take On Me" From Upcoming Cover Album Awesome Anthems Of The Galaxy

Hamburg-based power metal veterans IRON SAVIOR have just released a new video clip for their latest single, “Take On Me” - the band’s electrifying metal reworking of the classic A-HA hit. The track is taken from their highly anticipated cover album Awesome Anthems of the Galaxy, set to arrive on March 27, 2026 via PERCEPTION – a division of Reigning Phoenix Music!

Following a series of successful singles previewing the album, including their fiery rendition of IRENE CARA’s “Fame” and the powerful take on ALPHAVILLE’s “Forever Young”, the “Take On Me” video adds a fresh chapter to IRON SAVIOR’s cosmic mission of transforming beloved ’80s pop anthems into full-throttle power metal epics.

Frontman Piet Sielck reveals: "'Take On Me' for sure is one of the most successful pop songs ever. So in the beginning it was more a 'must' than a 'want'… but during the process of transforming it, I started to love this version more and more. Today I am more than happy to have this classic on the album and I‘m proud of the outcome!"

Stream / Download "Take On Me" at: https://ironsavior.rpm.link/takeonmePR

Watch the video below:

After reigniting their cosmic engines with Machine World – Reforged in 2025, IRON SAVIOR embark on their boldest mission yet. “Awesome Anthems of the Galaxy” transforms some of the most iconic pop hits of the 1980s into full-throttle power metal epics, combining nostalgia, passion, and the band’s trademark precision and fire, proving that the past can shine brighter than ever when reforged in metal.

“After the huge success of the 2002 Condition Red bonus track “Crazy” (Seal), which was actually used in a HBO TV show, we have been asked by fans and medias almost constantly to do a complete cover tracks album," Sielck explains, and adds: "So… two decades later here we are!” quotes frontman Piet Sielck. “AWESOME ANTHEMS continues the transformation from pop-to-metal in Iron Savior style as started with Seal’’s “Crazy” and Eurythmics “Sweet Dreams. We are absolutely proud of the outcome, which never looses the original vibe of the tracks but yet is 100% Iron Savior. Just listen yourself.. I guarantee a lot of smiles while doing so!”

From the electrifying rush of A-HA’s “Take On Me” and the thunderous drama of PHIL COLLINS’s “Against All Odds” to the cinematic pulse of JERMAINE JACKSON & PIA ZADORA’s “When The Rain Begins To Fall” and the adrenaline-fueled “Maniac” by MICHAEL SEMBELLO, IRON SAVIOR turn pop classics into heroic, melodic metal anthems. With Awesome Anthems of the Galaxy, IRON SAVIOR prove once more that great songs never age - they just get heavier!

Pre-order the album now at: https://ironsavior.rpm.link/awesomeanthemsPR

About IRON SAVIOR:
Forged in Hamburg’s metal heart, Iron Savior have been delivering their signature brand of powerful, melodic heavy metal for nearly three decades. Led by founder, vocalist, guitarist, and producer Piet Sielck, the band has become a cornerstone of the German power metal scene with their blend of high-octane riffs, anthemic choruses, and sci-fi storytelling.

FORGOTTEN SHRINE Release Haunting Version Of BREAKING BENJAMIN's "Crawl"

Emerging out from the shadows, folk metal ensemble FORGOTTEN SHRINE, comprised of Josh Alexander and Sofia Frasz (EXILED HOPE), present an explosive and thrilling cover of BREAKING BENJAMIN's "Crawl".

Josh Alexander shares: "BREAKING BENJAMIN brings me back to a much simpler time of Halo LAN parties and hard rock, which we now call 'dad rock'. When Sofia approached me with the idea I was very excited because this song has almost no covers to be found online. And being that we are FORGOTTEN SHRINE, we had to put our own spin on things as far as the arrangement, both vocally and musically, evoking an almost horror vibe. I can't wait to see what everyone thinks!"

Sofia Frasz comments: "BREAKING BENJAMIN was the soundtrack to my middle school and high school years, and remains one of my favorite bands to this day. A few months ago, I was feeling nostalgic and wanted to cover a song that no one else seemed to pay much attention to. I had a specific idea for a cinematic cover of 'Crawl' in my head, and it turned out so beautifully that we couldn't wait to release it. I'm my own worst critic and almost never listen to my own music, but I've had this one on repeat on and off since we finished it back in November. I'm proud to have put such a special new twist on what I consider to be an underrated classic."

FORGOTTEN SHRINE create an eerie atmosphere in "Crawl" from the off with ethereal traditional instruments and haunting choir voices building into the heavy riffs. Enchanting folk parts, along with both Frasz and Alexander's clean vocals, are powerfully juxtaposed with heavy distortion and their fierce harsh. It's an enchanting and charismatic take on a noughties fan favorite.

FORGOTTEN SHRINE is:
Josh Alexander (Pennsylvania, USA) - Guitar, Bass, Hurdy Gurdy, Irish Bouzouki, Additional Instruments, Backing Vocals, Composition.
Sofia Frasz (Maryland, USA) - Lead Vocals, Guitar, Lyrics, Composition.

Listen Below.

"I have such a deep love for Spanish music and my culture in general, so this song always stuck out to me," says singer Joey Tyler. UADA Announces New Acoustic Album, 'Interwoven,' Unveils Haunting Nirvana Cover

Enigmatic black metal masters UADA are pleased to now reveal that their upcoming acoustic album, 'Interwoven,' will be released on April 10 via Eisenwald Records. The album represents an acoustic journey tracing one song from each chapter of UADA's discography as well as various covers from the bands who've inspired them. In celebration, the band is now sharing a haunting version of NIRVANA's "Something in the Way," which can be found along with a video below.

The video was filmed and edited by Karl Whinnery and directed by Jake Superchi, with Evan Gandy serving as the co-director of photography.

UADA comments, "When UADA was formed, a rule was set: no covers, in pursuit of carving a wholly independent voice. With 'Interwoven,' we allowed ourselves to bend that rule. Recruiting a cellist for this project created a rare alignment—a moment to pay homage to one of the most formative and regional influences of my youth. While staying close to the original arrangement, we allowed our interpretation to take on its own bleak, glacial weight—one that echoes through the song’s timeless sorrow."

'Interwoven' is now available for pre-orders HERE.

"More than a sonic experiment, this album was a deliberate act of vulnerability. It was a personal and collective trial - a chance to step outside the acquainted shadows and embrace the uncertain light. The earliest intent was to craft something primitive and ritualistic, echoing the ancestral tones of ancient Pagan folk. Vocally, we anticipated a palette of whispers, chants, and throat singing. There was never a plan to explore clean, melodic singing - until an improvised vocal passage in “Djinn” revealed something unexpected. That unscripted moment sparked the foundation of what would become this album. With the band’s enthusiastic support, the recording process began - without a script, without rehearsal, and with full commitment to spontaneity and truth."

The Intemperate Sons Release Cover of Julien-K's "Photo Voltaire" with Music Video via Frame|Work

The Intemperate Sons open 2026 with a powerful cross-genre collaboration, releasing their cover of Julien-K’s “Photo Voltaire”. The track mixes the band’s signature alternative hard-rock foundation with the dark, synth-driven atmosphere of the original, creating a fresh reinterpretation that highlights the strengths of both groups. The release features a special appearance by Julien-K’s Amir Derakh, whose production sensibilities and guitar work have long been central to the band’s influential sound.

WATCH "Photo Voltaire" - A Julien K Cover by The Intemperate Sons:

In the sweltering Dallas summer of 2019, before the onset of a global pandemic, The Intemperate Sons were born from blood, grit, and a shared obsession with the ghosts of alternative rock’s golden age. The Watson family—Keith on drums, Jake on guitars, and Max on vocals, guitars, and keys—joined forces with longtime friend and bassist Mark Marks to create a sound that’s equal parts searing riffs, haunting harmonies, and unapologetic soul. Think Alice in Chains’ brooding intensity, Stone Temple Pilots’ swagger, and R.E.M.’s poetic undercurrent, all filtered through a ‘70s rock haze that refuses to play it safe.

This isn’t just a band; it’s a family affair, where the unspoken bond between father and sons fuels every chord and lyric. Keith, a Dallas stage veteran, pens lyrics that cut deep—tales of regret, resilience, and the chaos of the human condition. Jake’s guitar lines, sharp yet soulful, weave narratives of their own, while Max’s voice carries the weight of a 25-year-old who’s lived a lifetime in his head. Mark, the groove-obsessed bassist, ties it all together.

The Intemperate Sons hit the ground running, catching the ear of rock heavyweights Ryan Shuck and Amir Derakh (Orgy, Dead By Sunrise, Julien-K), who signed them to their Frame|Work label in 2021. Even a global pandemic couldn’t derail their momentum—holed up in The Kitchen Recording Studios, they crafted their debut album, The Color Within (2022), with tracks like “Dust to Dust” and “Running Man”that pulse with raw emotion and retro grit. Collaborations with legends like Tony Franklin (Whitesnake, The Firm) on singles like “Running Man” and “Dust to Dust” and Derakh’s production on singles like “Game of Keep Away” and “Dark Day’s Night” featured on their second and highly successful album, Dark Day’s Night (2024) pushed their sound further, blending post-grunge edge with folk and hard rock undercurrents.

For fans of alternative rock, this band is a throwback and a revelation—a reminder of why you fell in love with the genre’s raw honesty and a promise that its spirit still burns. The Intemperate Sons aren’t chasing trends; they’re carving their own path, one riff, one lyric, one night at a time.performing tracks that scratch deep into the backbone of the human experience. There is no shortage of darkness in their writing style which has a retro vibe with many guitar driven tracks stacked on top of a groovy rhythm section. The heavier style fits perfectly with the two and three-part vocal harmonies that are a huge part of their overall sound. It has been said that musicians that are related form unique sounds and communicate on a frequency only they can understand. This frequency has become engrained in their songwriting, arrangements, guitar melodies and vocal harmonies. The band has been compared to Alice in Chains, Stone Temple Pilots, and even R.E.M.

The Intemperate Sons are:

Max Watson (vocals, backing vocals, guitars, keys, bass)

Jake Watson (guitars, bass and backing vocals)

Keith Watson (drums, backing vocals)

Mark Marks (bass)
