Brooklyn post-punk outfit CLONE bring the firepower on debut album 'CL. 1', released via Little Cloud Records

"Loud, aggressive disharmonies flow into a flood of raging and conflicting emotions where droning reverb-injected riffs, angsty and obsessive excruciatingly ringing John McGeoch-esque guitar strains" ~ White, Light White Heat

"Feeding what are now greedy expectations, fuelled by this smashing earworm, Clone ignites a firestorm of sonic pleasure - enthralled and fascinated with its sonic impression, emotional turbulence and convincing delivery" ~ The Spill Magazine

"Highly Urgent Political Rock" ~  Destroy // Exist

"A monument to what seems like a dying art form, Clone emerges from the streets of Brooklyn—streets that have been fertile ground for underground music for decades—to remind us of what a band can truly be in an age of digitization, pre-fabrication, and superficiality" ~ Idioteq

Brooklyn post-punk outfit Clone presents their debut 'CL. 1' album, just in time for the summer solstice. Released via Portland label Little Cloud Records and North Carolina's 5BC Records, this is an album born from a seemingly lost wellspring of shared imagination and a youthful transformative power.

Their sonic exploration, once a private refuge, now invites all. Earlier, the band shared caustic excellence in the iconoclastic singles 'Dividing Line', 'Immutable' and 'Redeemer', each igniting a fire for change.

'CL.1' is a phenomenal debut album – a truly impressive first outing. Recorded and mixed by NYC legendary producer Martin Bisi (Sonic Youth, Swans, Brian Eno, John Zorn, Herbie Hancock, Iggy Pop, Helmet, Dresden Dolls) at his famed BC Studio, built by Brian Eno. Co-produced by Bisi and LG Galleon, this record was mastered by Fred Kevorkian (The White Stripes, Sonic Youth, Juliana Hatfield, Pharaoh Sanders, Regina Spektor, Cassandra Wilson, Lloyd Cole).

One of the most exciting new post-punk bands on the scene these days, each member of Clone is of strong musical lineage. Dead Leaf Echo frontman LG Galleon is joined by NYC musicians Gregg Giufree (Pilot to Gunner), Max Idas and Dominick Turi. Today, their live line-up includes Paul Liziragga (Namesake) and Alex Cox (The Veldt).

Clone's music is evocative, in ethos and ambition, of a time when music still could change lives. Their lyrics involve the struggles and critiques of the working person's daily life. The bands started playing shows in 2019, building their fanbase organically, brick by brick, word of their incendiary live shows spreading. Each time they play, more are won over.

"We had been rehearsing and writing the material all through the very end of Trump's first term, having started the band right before COVID hit.  Taking a leering look down on class systems via politicized punk rock always seems appropriate, but we had no idea that the first day of tracking at Martin Bisi's studio (BC Studios) would coincide with the results of the new election. We rehearsed the songs in Bushwick but the studio was in Gowanus (30 min away) so everyday I woke up and got on the bike to the studio for overdubs. But the first day was different - in the excitement of the election having gone deep into the night (after sleep had overtaken), we awoke to cheers of excitement," says LG Galleon.

"I went to my local barista and asked for my normal and was handed a bottle of tequila. No time for coffee, the celebrations had already started. Emotions were running high and optimistic and it carried over into the studio. We quickly delivered the material over to Martin during the next two days and overdubs followed shortly after. A feeling of writing the songs in desperation near the end of his term made for a feeling of release; albeit we knew it was a pyrrhic victory in the moment. COVID and life would mean we'd lose two of the original members when they left New York, but there will always be the feeling we had there in that moment on Election Day. It's interesting that now that this material is being released, Round 2 looms in the very near future, bringing back all those same fierce feelings of retribution once more."

Clone is a unit of its parts. Egalitarian in their writing process, songs are built upon inchoate sparks offered by any member, letting the jams run free in their rehearsal space until there’s a complete song, guided by the alchemy of intuition. There’s no rule book here, and no one defining member, but there is a palpable chemistry.

Rooted in belief in its galvanizing, redemptive power, the kind which used to be written for the lonely and the scarred and the diffident (before something truly was lost), something deeply enmeshed within the human psyche that could be shared. Clone are fitfully reclaiming this, which at its crux, is the imagination of youth. Captured vividly here, their private universe of sonic exploration is now open to all.

On June 21, the 'CL. 1' album was released as a 12" vinyl LP, featuring an impressive black and white mix, and as a digital download everywhere, including Apple MusicSpotify. and Bandcamp.

Brooklyn post-punk outfit CLONE reveals 'Redeemer', a caustic taster of debut 'CL. 1' album

Brooklyn post-punk outfit Clone presents their invigorating new single 'Redeemer', which is about cult leaders and the “cult” of personality surrounding politics and celebrities. A scathing indictment of the modern obsession with the cult of personality that folks so easily create and bow down to. Hollow trends, manufactured personas, this is a cleverly-constructed sonic commentary on a world obsessed with the superficial and the emptiness that lurks beneath the surface.

'Redeemer' is the third taste of their debut 'CL. 1' album, following 'Immutable' and 'Dividing Line' with its multi-media video created by Preston Spurlock. Through their sharp guitars and penetrating vocals, this is a call to arms to see through the charade and puncture such phenomena as hero worship, hype and propaganda (and to get back to what is real).

This album will be released on vinyl and digitally via Portland-based Little Cloud Records and North Carolina's 5BC Records on June 21.

“'Redeemer' is about convincing yourself that betrayal can be used a form of trust. Religious groups always need a scapegoat, who has failed them, to rely on to strengthen beliefs within their core," says LG Galleon.

"Like the smiling face on your television, it only takes a viral face to dictate policy to the people. Whether it’s Donald Trump paying homage to Hannibal Lecture or Eric Adams telling immigrants to become lifeguards because he thinks they’re good swimmers. Even the lowest level of intelligence can enthrall and convince the public with ridiculous statements."

Clone started playing shows in summer of 2019, building their fanbase organically, brick by brick, word of their incendiary live shows spreading. Each time they play, more are won over.

Operating in what’s rapidly becoming an antiquated model, they’re a unit of parts. Egalitarian in their writing process, one where songs are built upon inchoate sparks offered freely by any member, letting the jams run free in their rehearsal space until there’s a complete song, guided by the alchemy of intuition. There’s no rule book here, and no one defining member, but there is a palpable chemistry.

As a debut album, 'CL.1' is a damn auspicious opening volley, recorded and mixed by NYC legendary producer Martin Bisi (Sonic Youth, Swans, Brian Eno, John Zorn, Herbie Hancock, Iggy Pop, Helmet, Dresden Dolls, Cop Shoot Cop) at his famed BC Studio, built by Brian Eno. Produced by LG Galleon and Bisi, it was mastered by Fred Kevorkian.

On June 21, the 'CL. 1' album will be released everywhere digitally and as a 12" vinyl LP - the Salt Sea Strain Edition entails an impressive black and white mix.

Post-punk outfit Clone - a Brooklyn-based supergroup featuring members of The Veldt, Dead Leaf Echo, Namesake and Pilot to Gunner - announces their debut record 'CL. 1' and presents the lead track 'Dividing Line', a song about how Donald Trump tried to start a class war within the USA.

The 'CL. 1' album will be released via Portland-based Little Cloud Records and North Carolina's 5BC Records this summer. The video for 'Dividing Line', which involved claymation, drawing and digital rendering, was created by Preston Spurlock.

Clone is led by LG Galleon, best known as frontman of Dead Leaf Echo,  On this album, he is joined by NYC musicians Gregg Giufree (Pilot to Gunner), Max Idas and Dominick Turi. Live, he is joined by Paul Liziragga (Namesake) and Alex Cox (The Veldt). Clone's lyrics involve the struggles and critiques of the working person's daily life. About the new single 'Dividing Line', LG Galleon says, "This song is called the “Donnie” song. Yes it’s about Donald Trump. It’s when our former failed leader tried to incite a race riot during the Pandemic. The chorus goes “Get up, cause Donnie wants to start a fire, get up cause Donnie wants to start a riot, start a fire fire fire fire fire fire fight."

Texas based symphonic metal band, TULIP, has released their new single "CLONE" out now on all major platforms. The single is from their new 6 track storyscape EP The Witch due out on September 17th, 2021.

The EP, which is their heaviest yet, opens with the menacing "SIDEWINDER", and throttles listeners into the pulsing anthems of "CLONE" and "PROXY", finally ratcheting up to the massive title track "THE WITCH". Their first two singles "SIDEWINDER" and "PROXY" racked up over 100,000 listens on Spotify in their first month alone and topped curated playlists including Spotify's Epic & Melodic and Progressive Metal. With this latest release, TULIP is poised to impact the symphonic metal world, fronted by former opera singer Ashleigh Semkiw's intense vocals, Colin Parrish's powerful guitar and Ryan Claxton's fury on the drums making them unlike any other in the genre.

TULIP is headlining TREES DALLAS on September 26th, 2021.

Forged in the fire of excommunication, Texan transplants ‘Tulip’ deliver their own brand of symphonic metal, spearheaded by ex-professional opera vocalist Ashleigh Semkiw, and Colin Parrish on guitar.

Their story is a unique one. Publicly shamed, ostracized and cast out of the church, Semkiw and Parrish formed TULIP - an acronymic nod to their former faith.

Emerging together for the first time in September 2018, the members of Tulip are established artists, having performed for a decade in their respective past acts; Ashleigh in professional opera, Brandon with ONI throughout Europe alongside the likes of Children of Bodom and Lamb Of God, Ryan sessioning across the USA and Canada, and co-lead member Colin as an accomplished recording and mix engineer.

TULIP, their self-titled debut EP was self written, recorded and mixed, and was mastered by the legendary Troy Glessner (Devin Townsend, New Found Glory, Disturbed). The five song collection delivers symphonic metal with a modern groove oriented twist.

Following their first US tour with Swedish metal outfit Evergrey, Tulip went even further with their next recorded effort. The LP High Strangeness boasts twelve tracks of bone crushing drums, searing guitars and masterful vocals underpinned with full orchestration and layered synths.

Recorded at their home in Argyle, Texas - the LP was born out of a fascination and curiosity both Semkiw and Parrish share for the unexplainable. Avid fans of Coast to Coast AM Radio and Whitley Strieber, they sought to create a musical pilgrimage into the unknown.

Tulip is:

Ashleigh Semkiw, vocals

Colin Parrish, guitar

Ryan Claxton, drums
