EXTINCTION A.D. Call Out False Allies with New Single "Morality Bait"

New York metal heathens Extinction A.D. are returning with another blistering slice of their signature metallic hardcore punk in the form of new single "Morality Bait". Listen to the new track, out via Unique Leader Records below.

Serving as a scathing callout of performative activists, "Morality Bait" focuses Extinction A.D's impeccable combination of groove metal, thrash and hardcore in to a furious riff-storm overlaid by a pointed lyrical evisceration of those exploiting morality for personal gain. Vocalist Rick Jimenez elaborates:

"Exploitation of moral causes is nothing new but it has never been more prevalent and transparent as it's been recently. No surprise that people talk out of both sides of their mouth when there is profit to be made though. "Morality Bait" is a powerhouse song that takes the frustration with false allies and rallies for their destruction with the weightiest Extinction A.D. riffs yet."

"Morality Bait" is just the beginning of the next chapter of Extinction A.D. Keep it locked for big news coming soon.

ABOUT EXTINCTION A.D.

For almost a decade, Long Island, New York’s Extinction A.D. have been bringing an intense and ferocious approach to metal. The frenetic energy and power of their live show is now matched on the brand new track, "Morality Bait" and the new era of the band it heralds, following the band's 2022 full length release, Culture Of Violence.

So many different worlds shaped this band; from writers like Alan Moore and George Orwell; lyricists like Wreak Havoc and Chuck D; to directors like Tarantino and John Carpenter. But musically, Extinction A.D. hook up a tube of early 90s era of metal into their veins. Not just bands like Pantera and Machine Head, but the often overlooked 90s offerings from Testament, Sepultura and Slayer.

Thrashing just as hard as their predecessors, the band also break their surroundings down and deliver some heavy as hell riotous mosh; hitting that all-important sweet spot mixture of 80s thrash, 90s extreme metal and New York hardcore, all encompassed into one.

San Francisco singer-songwriter E.G. Phillips presents new single 'A Bridge Too Far (MacArthur Station)'

"A fabulous heartfelt confessional... A purveyor of the urban blues, Phillips offers an enthralling proposition in this beautifully wrought song" ~ Amplify Music Magazine

"A romancing of the senses with its noir lit contemplation and that almost boozy air to its fiery breath... a soulful engagement as off kilter and unique as it is warmly beguiling and emotively comforting" ~ Ringmaster Review
'
"E.G. Phillips channels dark singer-songwriters… Like a distant cousin of his forbearers Nick Cave, Tom Waits, and Leonard Cohen... It's always satisfying to discover something with such an old wise soul." ~ Real Gone

San Francisco-based artist
E.G. Phillips presents his new single 'A Bridge Too Far (MacArthur Station)' featuring Grace Renaud on vocals. This previews his forthcoming 'Outlaw The Dead' EP, mixed and produced by Chris McGrew and Billboard-charting producer Jaimeson Durr (Sammy Hagar, Joe Satriani, Hope Sandoval).

Although the underlying backing track is a gentle bossa nova, there’s an undercurrent of tension and despair from the David Gilmour-esque riffs of an electric guitar and vocals that pierce through the darkness of the night as we are privy to a tormented inner dialogue.

The setting is a light rail station in the East Bay, where connections are made and missed and our protagonist is left stranded for an indeterminate nocturnal duration. With a refrain that directly quotes the title drop to a movie about WWII, a sense of conflict is unmistakable.

Last month, Phillips released the single 'It Ain't Good to Be in Love With You', a jazzy affair that showcases the Tom Waits meets Nick Cave-esque facets of his confessional songwriting.

This EP was recorded in Studio C of Hyde Street Studios in San Francisco (AKA
Wally’s HydeOut) at the former Wally Heider Studios, the same space where such legendary artists as Herbie Hancock, Santana, Grateful Dead, Green Day and Dead Kennedys recorded some of their most legendary releases.

"The East Bay train station in which this song is set is one where I've been stuck many times -- at night when you are alone in the dark, it can be a time for quiet reflection, or in this case a tumultuous inner dialogue, one rooted in conflict, as implied by the allusions to the WWII movie of the same name," explains E.G. Phillips.

A tech refugee originally from the Midwest, Phillips ultimately found greener grass on the West coast. Originally from Chicago suburbs, but having also lived in East Central Illinois and Minnesota, his musical journeys have grown more adventurous since relocating to the Bay Area at the turn of the century, especially since venturing out on the open mic scene in San Francisco -- finding a musical home of sorts at Bazaar Cafe.

With the steadfast backing of his band
Ducks With Pants, Phillips blends lyric-driven compositions with his own special blend of whimsy and cinematic imagery, offering a wry take in dealing with the longings of the heart and the madness of existence.

Grace Renaud is a vocal coach and minister of music. Currently music director at St. Paul's Lutheran Church and a pianist / cantor at Grace Cathedral, she also previously served as interim music director of the Queer Chorus of San Francisco, in addition to directing Soul Shine, a jazz combo accompanied by a choir of 25+ volunteers and professionals.

As of August 9, 'A Bridge Too Far (MacArthur Station)' is available across fine music platforms, including
SpotifyApple Music and Bandcamp, where Phillips' back catalogue can also be explored. On August 6, Phillips performed at Bazaar Cafe in San Francisco to celebrate this release

Fortier states,
"We are thrilled to join forces with an iconic artist like Violent J. He added such a kick ass and dangerous element to "Saddle Up and Ride" and "Sweet Toof". J has without a doubt taken The Lucid to another level."

"As far as live shows go, we had to cancel those shows back in May 2021 due to my cancer situation resulting in surgery which I have fully recovered from but with David and Mike looking to have a busy 2023 with Kings of Thrash/Dieth and Raven/Fear Factory respectively, it's looking like the most pragmatic route would be if Vin and I team up for some acoustic shows to promote The Lucid so be on the lookout for that."

The E.P. features artwork by Alex Sarabia and was produced by Mike Heller and mixed/mastered by Lasse Lammert.

The Lucid began in mid 2020 as an idea between frequent collaborators Drew Fortier and Mike Heller which led to David Ellefson (ex Megadeth) jumping on board on bass along with vocalist Vinnie Dombroski (Sponge) rounding out the lineup resulting in their debut self-titled album which featured 9 heavy hitting and emotionally charged tracks showcasing this eclectic quartet's unique sonic approach. To promote the album, 3 music videos were released, the Fortier directed "Deaths of Despair", "Maskronaut" directed by Michael Sarna, and "Hair" which was directed by Hannah Fierman and has gone on to win multiple awards from various film festivals.

WOODS OF DESOLATION Premieres New Song, "Illumination"

Atmospheric black metal project WOODS OF DESOLATION will be releasing its new full-length, 'The Falling Tide,' on December 9 via Season of Mist, making its debut to the label! The band is now sharing the third new single from the offering, "Illumination," which can be heard below.

WOODS OF DESOLATION comments, "'Illumination' is a song with layered meaning. As this was the first song written for the new album, the lyrics may also simultaneously offer some 'illumination' to the concept behind the preceding Woods of Desolation album, 'As The Stars.'"

'The Falling Tide' is now available for pre-order HERE.

Pre-save on your favorite streaming service HERE.

Australian visionary Woods of Desolation returns with The Falling Tide, a bewitching crescendo of atmospheric black metal and post metal elements. Unlike the act’s Australian contemporaries who are known for their raw, unrefined grit, Woods of Desolation takes a different approach, showcasing the genre’s beauty and elegance with their grand melodic passages and radiant aura.

Formed by multi-instrumentalist D. in 2005, the project started as a means for personal expression through music. Firmly built upon this ethos, a series of demo recordings garnered attention and a solid following within underground black metal circles worldwide. Continually evolving and working with different guest musicians in pursuit of new artistic territory, D. began to showcase his talent for crafting melancholic, yet at times uplifting, melodies on the debut album Toward the Depths (2008), further refining it on the Sorh EP (2009) and the influential sophomore full-length Torn Beyond Reason (2011).

In 2014, Woods of Desolation released the critically acclaimed third full-length As the Stars, receiving strong placements on Decibel’s “Top 40 Albums of 2014” and Stereogum’s “50 Best Albums of 2014” list. This album saw D. further introduce a wider array of musical influences, such as post rock and shoegaze, into his unique take on black metal, becoming one of the main protagonists in what would become the burgeoning genre of post black metal. Additionally, lyrical themes were expanded beyond what had come before – nature, life, sorrow – now personally exploring the metaphysical aspects of spirituality and the afterlife.

In the intervening years that followed, D. created and worked on two new black metal projects Remete & Unfelled, simultaneously writing and developing material for the next Woods of Desolation full-length. In 2021, finally ready, D. teamed up with Vlad (Drudkh, Windswept) on drums & keys to record The Falling Tide, the long-awaited follow-up to As the Stars.

This forthcoming album sees the musical palette of D. and WOODS OF DESOLATION continue to grow, exploring higher peaks, deeper depths, all the while maintaining honest artistic expression, unfettered and free – remaining ever faithful to those principles that lead the way all those years ago.

Lineup:
D. – Guitars, Bass, Vocals
Vlad – Drums, Keyboards

CINNAMON BABE Premieres "Loose" Music Video via Dread Central (Exclusive)

One of the most outspoken and controversial newcomers in heavy music, CINNAMON BABE isn't backing down from detractors with their latest single, "Loose". The LA-based nu-metal band helmed by model/actress Stormi Maya has partnered with Dread Central to premiere the horror-inspired music video for the track. The "Loose" video was directed byAlison-Eve Hammersley; a 2019 Lena Waithe AT&T Hello Lab mentee, with directing credits for short films like Fragile.com and You'll Only Have Each Other.

Watch the "Loose" video below

Speaking on the topics of misogyny and sex work, and how they influenced "Loose",Stormi comments:

“Sex work is what I turned to for survival when I was a teenager leaving foster care and dealing with homelessness. I was going back and forth from minimum wage jobs, but it was never enough to pay bills, especially in New York City. I first got into stripping at 18, and I stuck with it for a couple years. I also was a dominatrix, sugar baby, and nude model. In those years, I dealt with a lot of mistreatment, harassment, and abuse from the same men that wanted me for my sexuality. Within the strip club, a lot of the same men that were there paying for my service were the same men that were looking down on me."

Maya adds, "It’s hard to accept that the men I make feel good with my images and company are the same men that turn on me and call me out by name when they don’t get their way. I stand with sex workers no matter their gender. I hope they legalize sex work so it can be protected and girls can rely on law enforcement for protection instead of pimps. I wish we lived in a world where adults having consensual sex and being sexual wasn’t so taboo. My biggest inspiration for the song was ‘Whore’ by In This Moment. That song empowered me so much. Because it’s true – they love me for everything they hate me for."

"Loose" was engineered and produced by Esjay Jones & J.R. Bareis (Love & Death, Spoken), mixed by Joe Rickard, and mastered by Niels Nielsen (Ghost, Starset, In Flames).

Press Reactions to "Rock 'N' Roll Is Black"...

"Cinnamon Babe is letting everyone know where she stands at the crossroads of rock and race." -Loudwire

"On the incendiary single Rock And Roll Is Black — Influenced by Rage Against The Machine’s Take The Power Back, she rails against the gatekeeping of metal from its black originators." Metal Hammer

"For Stormi, Cinnamon Babe is a labor of love, an expression of anguish and strength born out of a difficult upbringing and a devotion to alternative music." - Metal Sucks

"That anyone questions the black roots of rock in this day and age is frankly flabbergasting but, again, it probably shouldn’t be. Hopefully, the likes of Maya can educate a few people." - Idobi Radio

NYC-French duo Frenchy and the Punk preview 'Zen Ghost' with latest Siouxsie-esque single 'Come In and Play'

"Explosive, subdued, confrontational, soothing, spikey, and accessible, an incredible blend of alt-rock shade and alt-folk light" ~ Big Takeover Magazine

"Penetrating psych-soaked post-punk... Brimming with their signature cinematic drama and that unforgettable voice" ~ Global Texan Chronicles

"Bombastic... a happy medium between the sonic atmosphere and thoughtful melancholy of post-punk music and the unmistakable drama of cabaret... as beautifully manic as some of the finest artists on America's early punk' scene" ~Amplify Music Magazine

"An inspiriting slice of post punk hued, new wave nurtured rock ‘n’ roll... under the skin and hungrily stirring the imagination in a flash" ~ Ringmaster Review

NYC-based postpunk duo Frenchy and the Punk has released 'Come In and Play', an upbeat Siouxsie-esque delight and the second enchanting single from their forthcoming 'Zen Ghost' album. Their seventh long-player record, this will be released via the EA Recordings label on October 28.

Frenchy and the Punk is vocalist, percussionist and lyricist Samantha Stephensonand guitarist-composer Scott Helland, who was co-founder and bassist ofOutpatients and also Deep Wound (along with Dinosaur Jr. founders J Mascis andLou Barlow). Influenced by The Cure, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Blondie, Concrete Blonde and The B52’s, the duo thrive in their trademark blend of post-punk and dark folk music.

About 'Come In and Play', Samantha Stephenson says, "I was named after the character in Bewitched. My mom was a fan of the show. It sparked a curiosity and enthusiasm for all things mystical and magical from an early age. I could be quite solitary and eventually dove into a meditation practice. That feeling of going inward and exploring the inner workings of the esoteric realm always felt very comforting."

Earlier, the band released the lead track 'Mon Souvenir', an unapologetically new wave nugget, propelled by chugging acoustic chords, that reflects the album’s central theme of transcending ‘mind phantoms’ - the experiences from the past that linger within all of us.

Dark times make for dark songs. 'Zen Ghost' was written and recorded during the downtime of 2020-2021. Here, the duo's shadowy sound takes an even darker turn. An inward spin, into the pair’s previously unexplored personal planes and interpretations of the insanity of our increasingly tumultuous age. But despite its more pronounced moodiness, like the rest of the band’s oeuvre, 'Zen Ghost' offers plenty of opportunities to dance in the darkness.

Tapped as one of the Top 25 duos in the US by Yahoo! Music, the freewheeling pair has released numerous recordings, including the acclaimed albums 'Happy Madness' (2010), 'Hey Hey Cabaret' (2012), 'Elephant Uproar' (2013), 'Cartwheels' (2014), 'Bonjour Batfrog' (2014), and 'Hooray Beret' (2019).

French-born, but raised in the UK and USA, Stephenson’s study of piano and dance ignited her eventual rejection of corporate conformity and fueled a quest to lead a truly autonomous life through art and music. A son of jazz-loving teachers, Helland grew up in Western Massachusetts and was a vital player on the region’s fertile early hardcore punk scene.

Helland and Stephenson met in NYC in 1998, when Stephenson spontaneously jumped on stage to accompany Helland during his solo guitar performance. The artistic union was immediate, powerful and undeniable. The two began to tour with fevered zeal, turning heads with their striking aesthetic, steadily building fervent fans on the mystical-folk/steampunk festival, coffeehouse, convention, and club circuits with their boisterous, revival-like live shows.

Since then, they've performed live with Dead Can Dance's Peter Ulrich and Dresden Dolls' Brian Viglione, and opened for Thomas Dolby, Dinosaur Jr., The World Inferno Friendship Society, Rasputina, Cruxshadows, Hurray For The Riff Raff and The Young Dubliners.

'Come in and Play' is now out everywhere, including Apple Music,Spotify and Bandcamp, where 'Mon Souvenir' can also be found. The 'Zen Ghost' album will be released on October 28 and is available for pre-order digitally viaBandcamp and on CD via the band's website.

Glasgow's Starry Skies present solidarity-based 'Light In Your Soul' single from their 'Small Wonders' LP

"Soft, vibrant joyousness of the duetting on the Kinksien ‘Light in Your Soul" ~ Americana UK

“Light In Your Soul....an evocative proposal, a slice of Americana edged pop which united with body and thought as the warm radiance of harmonies shone" ~ Ringmaster Review

"Teeming with positivity... bountiful and grounding while, at the same time, giving cause for deeper thought" ~ The Spill Magazine

"Light In Your Soul is the sort of song that The Beautiful South would have wrestled you bodily into the dirt to get their hands on – spacious, reflective, gorgeous" ~ The Swindonian

"Among the finest of the current crop” ~ Clash Magazine

"Infectiousness, addiction, groove and melody and has some real depth... straight-forward and brilliant" ~ Big Takeover Magazine

“One of the finest singers Scotland has ever produced…singular song writing talent”~ Stevie Jackson (B&S)

Scotland's Starry Skies present the single 'Light In Your Soul', a firm favourite among fans of one of Glasgow's most beloved folk-rock band and a positive, heartfelt and gorgeous reminder to remember the light and strength inside themselves regardless of the challenges they face.

Lifted from their fourth studio album ‘Small Wonders’, it starts with acapella vocals and finger clicks, and then transforms into a full-on production with hammond organ, jangly guitars and beautiful vocals harmonies.

Shaped by personal encounters with music icons Nina Simone, Iggy Pop and Chuck Berry, Warren McIntyre (aka Warren Starry Sky) founded the band in 2014 to encourage the proliferation of positive, hopeful music. Today, he is joined by Jenny Lunan, Heather Phillips, Sophie Pragnell, Johnny Rooney and Adam Scott, having supported Snow Patrol, Belle and Sebastian, The Vaselines and Teenage Fanclub over the years.

"‘Light in Your Soul’ started off as a tribute to New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern. She has been getting a lot of criticism in the press and this got me thinking about female leaders.I wanted to write a message of support to Jacinda to let her know that, even in far away Scotland, there are people who admire her and the kind inclusive approach she takes to leading her country. Her public show of empathy for the Muslim survivors of the Christchurch shooting was admirable and showed the strength of connection," says Warren McIntyre.

"The verse lines “Hey there sister…..I don’t believe in these leaders – but I’d follow you to the end” and the chorus reminder that no matter how dark it gets it is important to remember the light were little messages in this song as a personal thank you to Jacinda".

Dubbed a "masterpiece" and their strongest work yet, 'Small Wonders' is a hearty crowdfunded 10-track collection with a brilliant blend of indie rock and folk pop. These shimmering delights celebrate the small wonders that are all around us, these songs were written in 2021, when we were all really grateful for small things like being able to go for a walk with a friend.

Packed full of inspired and catchy songs with thoughtful lyrics, 'Small Wonders' was recorded and produced at Maybank Studios by Matt Harvey, perhaps best known for his work with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra and Scottish Opera, and mastered at Abbey Road Studios by legendary mastering engineer Frank Arkwright (The Smiths, New Order, Coldplay, Oasis, Primal Scream, Blur, Bryan Ferry).

As of October 7, 'Light In Your Soul' is available across digital platforms, including Spotify. The full 'Small Wonders' album can be ordered on Bandcamp or on CD and sky-blue vinyl via Last Night From Glasgow.

Montreal's The Ember Glows ripe with post-punk romanticism on 'Where Spirits Play' EP

“The Ember Glows is a time-shifting device powered by the spiraling lead lines reminiscent of the early Cult sound, woven of the same ornate intricacies as Echo and The Bunnymen, as anthemic as The Mission at their most bombastic best" ~ The Big Takeover

"Reminds me of early U2 or Simple Minds which is Tre cool" ~ Skin (Skunk Anansie)

"At the intersection between post-punk intensity, the romanticism of new wave and trippiness of psychedelic rock... their sound is more akin to late 20th century northern England" ~ The Spill Magazine

"Moodily brooding to dynamically vibrant songs that are drenched in ruminative baritone vocals, darkly shining guitars, low-register bass lines, and pushing drum beats" ~ The Record Stache

"Boasting a classic guitar-driven New Wave psych sound, the simple hooks, a pulsating rhythm section, textural guitar interplay, and baritone vocals bring to mind Echo & The Bunnymen, The Teardrop Explodes, U2, The Mission, and The Associates" ~ Post-Punk.com

Montreal-based indie rock / post-punk quartet The Ember Glows has released their new EP 'Where Spirits Play', a 4-track offering recorded at Closet Studios in Montreal with elements of Simple Minds, The Cult, Echo and the Bunnymen, early U2, Nick Cave and The Mission at the fore.

Formed in 2019 by members of Montreal-based indie artists Room Control, REPO, Scene Noir and Citylake, The Ember Glows is Richard Bunze(guitar), Kevin Hills (bass), Martin Saint (vocals and guitar) and Dan Stefik(drums).

Leading up to this EP, The Ember Glows previewed the singles 'Silent Love' and 'The Mirror'. About the latter, frontman Martin Saint says this is "about how most nations carry skeletons in their closets - even the so-called peaceful ones. Sooner or later, we must face the weight of history and the past hits us hard collectively".

The Ember Glows trace their roots to guitar-driven new wave, psych rock and 90’s British indie music, having crafted a sound that boasts simple hooks, a pulsating rhythm section, textural guitar interplay and baritone vocals.

Friends since their teenage years, personal chemistry and musical synchronicity brought them together as The Ember Glows. With all four members also being part of other bands, what started as a side-project ultimately became everyone’s main music priority, fueled by their jointly-forged sound and corresponding adrenaline. Each member brings something different to the table - Rich with his knack for texture and big sound, Kevin’s rumbling groovy bass lines, Dan’s manic and melodic drumming, and Martin’s delicate lacing of baritone and jangly guitars.

The 'Where Spirits Play' EP is out now, available from Apple Music and other digital stores, as well as Bandcamp, where their 'Passerby' EP is also available on cassette and digitally.

Dalton Dover Releases New Song "Damn Good Life"

Following the announcement of his global deal with Sony Music Publishing and Droptine Music Publishing earlier this week, the MusicRow-dubbed “master country talent” Dalton Dover releases his new song “Damn Good Life,” written by Dover, Alex Maxwell and Jaxson Free. Listen to “Damn Good Life” below.

“I wanted to write a song that makes people smile. There are plenty of drinkin’ songs, and there are plenty of love songs, but not enough feel-good songs,” Dover shares. “When Alex, Jaxson and I sat down, we were having a great day and ‘Damn Good Life’ basically wrote itself. It’s a reminder not to take all the little things for granted in life.”

Last month, as Dover was wrapping his seven-night Ole Red residency in Nashville, the Spotify Hot Country 2022 Artist to Watch was surprised by a call from the red phone during his set with none other than Blake Shelton on the line, inviting Dover to make his Grand Ole Opry debut later this year on Dec. 3.

“I’ve done the Opry tour and I walked out on the stage for a minute, but I really didn’t get to stay out there long,” Dover shared with Country Now. “So having the opportunity to go sing out there is gonna be different. It’s gonna be an animal. It’s gonna be a game changer.”

Before he makes it into the famed circle for a performance, Dover will support Priscilla Block this fall on the Welcome to the Block Party Tour launching Oct. 13 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Tickets are on sale now.

Today’s release follows “Hear About A Girl,” “You Got A Small Town” and “Baby I Am,” earning Dover a spotlight as Billboard’s February Country Rookie of the Month and Country Now’s “Country Next,” sharing “Dover’s country music career may be just beginning, but his star is quickly catching fire.”

About Dalton Dover
Lauded by MusicRow as a “master country talent,” twenty-three-year-old Dalton Dover first started singing at church as a kid, winning his fifth-grade school talent show performing Justin Bieber’s “Baby.” In that moment Dover’s love of performing was born. By the age of 16 he had picked up a guitar and started teaching himself to play, yet it was his grandfather who turned him on to country music and artists such as Keith Whitley, Rhett Akins, Joe Diffie and Steve Wariner. Enamored with the honesty and storytelling found in country music, Whitley’s “Don’t Close Your Eyes” was the first song Dover taught himself to play on guitar. Performances at local bars soon followed along with sharing covers of some of his favorite songs on TikTok. It was there he caught the ear of producer Matt McV and A&R Veteran and founder of Droptine Recordings, Jim Catino, who quickly signed Dover.

Married to his high school sweetheart, Faith, the two have lived in the same rural Georgia small town, population 1,200, all their lives, important for the Dovers to give their two young children, Taylor and Alyiah, the same idyllic childhood they had growing up — the life one finds in a small town. And it’s that pace and familiarity he enjoys so much that he sings about on his debut track “You Got a Small Town.” Produced by McV, “You Got A Small Town” quickly garnered critical acclaim from Billboard, MusicRow, Country Now and Wide Open Country. With his debut and follow-up “Baby I Am” earning notable playlisting, Dover was named a Spotify Hot Country 2022 Artist to Watch. Follow-up “Hear About A Girl” saw critical acclaim, with MusicRow sharing, “We’re in the presence of a master country talent when this man sings.” Dover’s latest single “Damn Good Life,” cowritten with Alex Maxwell and Jaxson Free is available now, with plans to release more new music later this year.

After opening for Luke Comb’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium show in Atlanta, Ga., Dover set out on his seven-night residency, performing across multiple locations of Blake Shelton’s Ole Red, where he was invited to make his Grand Ole Opry debut Dec. 3. Before performing from the famed circle, Dover will bring his captivating live set to Priscilla Block’s Welcome to the Block Party Tour this fall, kicking off Oct. 13 in Cincinnati, Ohio. The self-titled album 'The Riven' received great reviews and in the autumn of 2019 the album got a South American release through the Brazilian label Hellion Records. The first album developed the band’s sound from their EP 'Blackbird' and gave space to a more progressive and psychedelic side.

Liar Thief Bandit Release New Mini Album "Diamonds"

Liar Thief Bandit:

"'Diamonds' takes off where 'Deadlights' ends. The sound and lyrics follow the same theme and feel as its predecessor but with additional reflections and new views on self-realization. A troubled mind finding keys to push forward surrounded by roaring guitars, pounding drums and fierce vocals."

Liar Thief Bandit Biography:

What do you get if you blend the melodic essence that helped shape the ‘70s and the raw garage revival of the late ‘90s with a modern touch of uplifting lyrics and undeniable energy?

The answer is Liar Thief Bandit – a power trio born to play live with the sole purpose to carry the torch of all that ever was, is and will be rock’n’roll in its purest form.

After humble beginnings in 2015 making demos and playing those first crucial shows, the defining journey took off in late 2016 when the self-produced debut album 'Gun Shovel Alibi' was released. Extensive touring followed and the band’s DIY-ethics brought them to numerous European countries during 2017. Their lightening, energetic live show caught attention and left the audience wanting more.

That hectic tour schedule influenced the three-piece to write, record and deliver their sophomore epos 'Straight Ahead' released in August 2018 quickly followed by three European tours putting Liar Thief Bandit on the map as a hard-working rock’n’roll band to reckon with.

With new songs in the making, May 2019 saw the trio doing their 100th show in Hamburg as the premiere of an 18-day tour through Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Poland and Czech Republic. The coming fall saw a split 7” vinyl with Grande Royale released on The Sign Records and a joint tour through Germany and Switzerland supporting the double A-side single. The track "Virtue Not a Vice” left no one doubting the power of innovating riffs and rememberable melodies that makes Liar Thief Bandit stand out in the current rock atmosphere.

The third full-length was recorded during the spring of 2020 in Malmö’s Tambourine Studios inspired by hardships in a hard-working touring band as well as complicated situations in life. The theme throughout the 12 songs touches on philosophies of picking yourself up, taking chances and facing obstacles with a positive state of mind. 'Deadlights' was released on May 14th, 2021 via The Sign Records.

Always thinking ahead, more music was already on its way. Following the release of 'Deadlights”, one of land’s hardest working rock trios fired up the engine and headed to the outskirts of the small Swedish west coast town Strömstad in the summer of 2021 to record once again. 7 tracks were laid down in 7 days at Tilt Recording Studios with Max Dahlby at the helm, who’s worked with Åskväder, The Drippers and Scumbag Millionaire to name a few. 6 originals and a cover of Graveyard’s “Ain’t Fit to Live Here” which was released as the first single from the upcoming mini album 'Diamonds'.

Taking off where 'Deadlights' ends, 'Diamonds' follows the same theme and feel as its predecessor but with additional reflections and new views on self-realization. A troubled mind finding keys to push forward surrounded by roaring guitars, pounding drums and fierce vocals.

Liar Thief Bandit are:

Mikael Jacobson - Guitar / Vocals

William Grube - Drums

Niklas Dahre - Bass

Pillbox Patti Releases Latest Track, “Eat Pray Drugs”

Earlier this summer Pillbox Patti introduced her unique perspective, and tell it like it is – the good, the bad and the ugly – attitude to the world with the release of “Good People,” “ Young and Stupid ,” and most recently the autobiographical, “Suwannee.” Today she releases another chapter of her story with “Eat Pray Drugs.” The new track is another taste of her debut album, Florida, set for release via Monument Records on October 14.

Listen to “Eat Pray Drugs” HERE

Pre-Add/Pre-Save Florida HERE (Available October 14)

Pillbox Patti’s style is one Forbes has called “hypnotic” and “poignant” while stating “It's…honesty and authenticity that Hayford wants to share with listeners on her debut project.” Written by Hayford with Aaron Raitiere, Park Chisolm, Benjy Davis, and Connie Harrington, and produced by Chisolm, “Eat Pray Drugs” is brutally honest about the life Pillbox Patti led growing up in Florida with little money, resources, or options for extracurricular activities. It paints a clear image into a reality many live every day.

“I’m from a small town in Florida where there’s not a whole lot goin’ on," says Pillbox Patti. “Mostly casseroles, and Jesus, and getting’ high.…in other words, eat pray drugs. If I would’ve had the extra money to spend on decorative signs or kitchen towels when I lived in the little town I’m from, they would’ve all said eat pray drugs.”

On the track, she sings:

ONLY THREE THINGS TO DO AROUND HERE
AIN’T A HONEY HOLE OR A MOVIE THEATER
COUNTRY IS AS COUNTRY DOES
EAT – PRAY – DRUGS

HOSE CLAMP AND AN 80 MG
BAPTIST CHURCH AND A DAIRY QUEEN
WE JUST DOIN’ WHAT WE LOVE
EAT – PRAY – DRUGS

Pillbox Patti is the evolution of celebrated Nashville songwriter Nicolette Hayford. She has penned hits like “One Night Standards” and “Little Dive Bar in Dahlonega” for Ashely McBryde as well as songs for Lainey Wilson, William Michael Morgan and Chrissy Metz. In 2021 she was named MusicRow’s Breakthrough Songwriter of the Year and nominated for ACM and CMA Song Of The Year Awards.

After years of writing for other artists, Hayford is finally stepping into the spotlight as an artist. The ten-year town put her into a box, so she ventured off with her tribe of writers and what has emerged is Pillbox Patti, allowing Hayford to say anything and everything she wants. The fresh, authentic take on growing up in her Country is crystallized through the lens of a Florida native delivering her youth and adulthood in an honest, spirited, not always pretty, package on her debut album Florida.

Florida is a collection of my truths,” says Pillbox Patti. “it’s who I am and where I come from. It helped me heal. it helped me celebrate how far I’ve come, and I hope it brings some light to anybody out there in the dark corners of a small town, or anybody anywhere that needs to hear ‘I’ve been there too.’”

With Florida out October 14, stay tuned for details at pillboxpatti.com and follow along on social media @pillboxpatti for Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and TikTok.

More About Pillbox Patti in Her Own Words:
I grew up in FL.
Sometimes with my dad.
Sometimes with my sister.
Sometimes with my mom.
Sometimes with my grandma.
Sometimes at a friend’s house.
Sometimes with just a stamp of my dad’s signature.
Sometimes people were on drugs.
Sometimes I was on drugs.
Sometimes people were selling drugs.
Sometimes I was selling drugs.
Sometimes people were getting’ the shit beat out of them.
Couple times I was one of them.
Sometimes the cops came.
Sometimes no one did.
Sometimes you gotta get out of where everyone else is stuck.
Couple times I did.
Sometimes you remember you have a dream.
Sometimes you gotta take the long way.
Sometimes one dream pays for another dream.
Sometimes shit actually works out.
I still do pretty much everything sometimes.

Isafjørd to Release New Album 'Hjartastjaki' December 2nd

Isafjørd, meaning literally fjord of ice, is a shining new ethereal Post-rock band from Iceland.

Named after the town that both of their fathers came from, Ísafjörður, Aðalbjörn Addi Tryggvason (Sólstafir) and Ragnar Zolberg (Sign/x-Pain of Salvation) sculpt beautiful and desolate pop, as bright and dark as the sub-arctic seasons.

Isafjørd’s new album “Hjartastjaki” is an infectious rush of euphoric melancholy, quiet-loud dynamism, lush instrumentation and unforgettable atmospheric landscapes of song.

Meeting on the road, night creatures of the same renowned Reykjavik music scene, Ragnar playing live session bass for Sólstafir, Addi and Ragnar’s musical paths finally intersect in Isafjørd with a sound that reaches like a stalactite from the past into a gleaming future.

Holed up in the middle of winter, in an old house with a broken piano in the freezing cold, 'Hjartastjaki' is an album of songs that were written straight from the heart, sometimes in a single day.

Their chemistry as immediate as the climate they survive in, Isafjørd is a real meeting of spirits, with Ragnar’s sleek and cherubim voice a brilliant counterpoint to Addi’s dusty and aching cries, over orchestrated build-ups of soaring piano and sliding guitars. The catchy and haunting music that Addi and Ragnar create in Isafjørd is at once familiar in that lived-in, well-worn way a great song can touch your soul.

Having both lived in Norway and speaking Norwegian, Addi and Ragnar speak the same language of the heart, as their Nordic melancholy makes for deep and mountainous music. Isafjørd’s songs are sincere icebergs of tundra-anthems that bring to mind Fields of the Nephilim and Duran Duran jamming in a frozen valley, where the creative 80s New Wave meets GodSpeed You Black Emperor. With influences that range from Cardigans, Beatles, early Judas Priest and Neil Young, Addi and Ragnar have struck a vein of gold that crystallizes their own heritage of wide-screen Metal gloom into something new.

Now coming of age, matured into a shimmering diamond of Icelandic pop at its finest, Isafjørd is on another plain from Addi’s own Sólstafir, where their cinematic metal roots have been re-traced into sweeping glacial song-craft. A country known for their honest and heart–wrenching emotional take on pop music with Björk and Sigur Rós, Isafjørd gives a new definition of “landscape music”.

When an album feels like a place you want to inhabit and experience, 'Hjartastjaki' is a journey that you’re going to want to take.

About their first single "Falin Skemmd", Addi says, "This song is about freeing yourself from a toxic relationship and moving on to a brighter future.” Listen below.

Anyone that cut their metal teeth with The Big Four, and then dug a little deeper into the indie scene, should receive a major endorphin rush when they discover that speed and thrash masters RAZOR are about to release their first studio offering in 25 years entitled 'Cycle of Contempt'.

From the catchy, concise riffs and insistent beats of album opener “Flames of Hatred” to the double-barreled assault, muted power chord chugging and combative gang vocal of album closer “King Shit”, 'Cycle of Contempt' is a trenchant reminder of a time when clubs around the world were packed with long-haired bands that played as fast as they could to mosh pits that spun and tumbled like clothes in a short-circuiting dryer.

As energetic and exciting as "Evil Invaders" and as urgent and powerful as RAZOR’s1989 speed-fest "Violent Restitution", 'Cycle of Contempt' showcases a band that never stopped spewing venom.

“I tried to write songs that everybody could listen to and say, “Yeah, I know a guy who's done that to me or done this, or I know that situation. I can relate to that,” band founder Dave Carlo says. “And I didn’t want to make everything specifically about me because when you do that, you exclude people. I wanted to include everyone that’s ever felt pissed off about anything.”

An unrelenting slab of old-school thrash that showcases RAZOR's encyclopedic knowledge of the past along with Carlo’s growth as a songwriter, player, and lyricist, 'Cycle of Contempt' is here to show that RAZOR are as dominating as ever.

Since its inception in 2015, the enigmatic ritual collective HEILUNG has been paving melodic paths to the past with their unique and mystifying sound. Evading all conventional genre tags and the confines of any specific labels, the group aptly self-describes their sound as “amplified history,” emphasizing their ability to connect modern society with the rudiments of humanity’s beginnings through music. HEILUNG once again journeys back in time with its new chapter, ‘Drif;’ however, unlike previous offerings that centered around prehistoric northern Europe, album number three will explore other great rudimentary civilizations outside of Europe.

“All the songs on ‘Drif’ have their own stories,”  adds HEILUNG throat singer and one of the band’s three composers, Kai Uwe Faust. Each has its place and sense of belonging, with inspiration not only from Northern Europe, but from the ancient great civilizations,” explains the band. “We took the ancient surrounding advanced civilizations in account, because our ancestral Nordic civilizations did not just pop up, exist and disappear in isolation. Already in the Bronze Age, we found silk on German land that was imported already from the far, far East 3000 years ago. From the Viking age, we found beads that were brought there from present-day Syria high up in the Northern mountains.

“Centrally important concepts, still in extensive use today, like the number Zero and all the mathematical universes deriving from it, the use of iron and the general concept of settling all originate from traditional high civilizations outside the north and still fundamentally changing our ancestor's world.

“With singing these primordial songs we want to give tribute to these cultures, reconnect to the beginnings and remember that we all, from East to West, from past to present, are connected through the exchange of ideas and inspiring each other.”

Meaning “gathering,” ‘Drif’ serves as more than merely a gateway that bridges history with modern day society, but is also a statement of the strength in unity and togetherness, which will come as no surprise to those who have experienced HEILUNG’s live ritual, in which every ceremony starts with a reminder that “we are all brothers.” “‘Drif’ means ‘gathering,’' explains HEILUNG. “A throng of people, a horde, a crowd, a pack. In symbiosis with the album title, ‘Drif’ consists of a flock, a collection, a gathering, a collage of songs, that much like little flames were seeking towards each other, to join, to bond, to create, and be greater together.”

While HEILUNG features authentic and archaic instrumentation that ranges from rattles and ritual bells to human bones and throat singing, their captivating brand of music is far from primitive. Producer and founding member Christopher Juul implements subtle electronic elements that elevates the musical atmosphere and provides a more in-depth and layered soundscape.

“This album has very clearly dictated its own path. Our attempts to tame it were repeatedly fruitless, and once we came to this realization, the creative flow surged forward with immense force. So much so that sometimes it felt like the songs wrote themselves,” the band adds.

HEILUNG’s success has been unprecedented, achieving milestones in its few short years of existence that many do not see in a lifetime. The collective already had rapidly been growing a buzz upon the self-release of their first full-length, ‘Ofnir,’ in 2015, but their dizzying upward trajectory really took off from the moment they set foot on the stage at Castlefest in 2017 for the now-legendary debut of their live ritual. Luckily for those who were not fortunate enough to bare witness to this magical event, the full ceremony was captured on film, having since been viewed by tens of millions of fans across the globe.

As HEILUNG trekked across Europe and brought their mystifying experience to new audiences, talk of this new band and their stunning ceremony made way to Season of Mist label owner Michael Berberian, who quickly offered the band a record contract after seeing their undeniable musical impact for himself.

By 2019, HEILUNG launched their second full-length record, ‘Futha,’ which contrasted the masculine and battle-heavy themes of their debut with a feminine counterpart that celebrated fertility and female energy. Upon the first week of the record’s release, it graced the Billboard charts with coveted numbers, debuting at #3 on the Heatseekers Charts and #4 on the Billboard World Music Chart, placing on a total of seven Billboard charts while meeting critical-acclaim from the press on a global scale.

Having already made its way around Europe, HEILUNG announced its first ever North American tour for the start of 2020, which sold out entirely within 72 hours of ticket on-sale. The band later returned to the United States and performed their live ritual for a sold out audience of 10,000 people at the historic Red Rocks Amphitheater in Denver, CO (USA), further solidifying their early legacy status.

By this time, the band’s music started to appear in places outside the confines of music venues, videos, and vinyl. From hit television series like ‘Game of Thrones’ and ‘Vikings’ to video game giants like ‘Conqueror's Blade VII: "Wolves of Ragnarök’ and ‘Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II’ to the blockbuster Robert Eggers film ‘The Northman,’ HEILUNG’s music has risen far above the underground and has transcended into a greater world. Even a global pandemic couldn’t slow down HEILUNG’s success; it only strengthened them and gave them the gift of time to complete work on album number three, ‘Drif.’

According to Greek philosopher Pythagoras, three is a divine number, signifying harmony, wisdom, and understanding. He also believed it to be the number of time – past, present, future; birth, life, death; beginning, middle, end. Purposefully or not, ‘Drif’ embodies this philosophy, putting forth a divine work of art that ties together the beginning of civilization with the modern world today. Make no mistake, HEILUNG still does not represent any modern political or religious ideology, but rather delivers a humbling reminder of where we came from. “Remember, we are all brothers. All  people, beasts, tree and stone and wind, we all descend from the one great being that was always there, before people lived and named it, before the first seed sprouted.”

Wade Bowen Announces 'Somewhere Between The Secret And The Truth' (August 12); Lead Single "Everything Has Your M

Lead Single “Everything Has Your Memory” Out Now; Listen HERE

Full Length Album Follows Recent EP Where Phones Don’t Work; Pre-Order/Pre-Save
HERE

A dozen albums already show Wade Bowen’s musical evolution – including six studio sets, two live collections, a gospel album and an ongoing series of buddy-country hits with fellow Texan Randy Rogers – and yet he continues to prove that his music can’t be constrained by the state line with today’s announcement of his highly anticipated full-length album, Somewhere Between The Secret And The Truth, set for August 12 release via Thirty Tigers. Working with Warner Chappell Music to write and record on retreats to the remote landscape of Texas as well as in Nashville studios, Bowen’s lead single, “Everything Has Your Memory,” is available everywhere now. Listen HERE and pre-order/pre-save the album HERE.

“I went through a big writer’s drought; kind of just being shell shocked from everything, not knowing how to handle it, and then finally came out of that and just had this flood of just wanting to write,” reflects Bowen, who served not only as a cowriter on all 12 songs, but also as a solo producer for the first time in his career. “This reset button really rejuvenated my passion for my entire career, all the way across the board.

“I was trying to find where I fit musically again,” he continues. “I’ve been doing this so long that I feel like I got off track from where I felt I fit – I was all over the place with my songwriting and my career. Ironically enough, COVID really gave me a chance to just turn my brain off a little bit and stop thinking. When I came out on the other side, I really found not only a renewed sense of my music and wanting to get out and play again, but I found a renewed sense of self. I found who I wanted to be as a writer, as a singer, as an artist.”

The resulting project follows his recent six-song EP Where Phones Don’t Work, praised by American Songwriter as “a collection of heartfelt tunes and honest recollections” with lead single “When Love Comes Around” celebrated by Billboard for “[retaining] a newcomer’s energetic fervor, melded with his signature blend of sounds from across the wide spectrum of Texas Music” and honored by MusicRow with a “DISClaimer” Award, noting that the “perennially popular… honky-tonker can always be counted on for country excellence.” MusicRow repeated the honor for follow up “Phones Don’t Work,” describing the track as “a perfect performance.”

Now, with lead single “Everything Has Your Memory,” Bowen offers fans a glimpse at what’s to come with the full-length project this August and reflects his desire to create a project to truly supplement his live set list.

“I love when you finish a song and you feel like, ‘okay, this one is for sure going to make the record,’” he notes. “This one is so melody driven; it’s just singable… the way we produced it and worked it up, it fit perfectly as the opening track and I think it’s a great introduction to what people are going to hear for the rest of the album.

“Not being on the road very much, knowing we were going to come back and be playing a heavy schedule of touring,” he continues, “I really wanted just the simplicity of the songs to really carry themselves and carry the album and lead us all the way through the show; where the simplicity creates these big, massive sounding songs.”

Fans can catch Bowen performing these new songs as well as his extensive catalog of hits at shows across the country this summer.

About Wade Bowen
Twenty years and some 4,000 shows into his career, the name Wade Bowen has become synonymous with authentic Country music – and for good reason. An artistic descendant of American icons like Guy Clark, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Robert Earl Keen and more, Bowen is a contemporary link in a Texan chain of roots-rock poets stretching back more than 50 years – yet his ambition never ended at the state line.

Seen as one of the genre’s finest and most genuine modern voices, Bowen’s approach stays rooted in tradition, but also stands on the creative cutting edge. His focus remains on writing unique songs with a literary quality and shifting his sonic territory to match his life, as evidenced by uplifting lead single “Everything Has Your Memory” off his forthcoming album, Somewhere Between The Secret And The Truth, set for release August 12 via Thirty Tigers.

Wielding a knack for direct, poetic songwriting that never panders, Bowen matches his gravel-road growl to an organic sound spanning the whole of Texas and beyond, tapping both country and rock influences. A dozen albums have shown his sonic diversity – including six studio sets, two live collections, a gospel album and an ongoing series of buddy-country hits with fellow Texan Randy Rogers. Along the way, he’s scored hits and accolades based on quality, not quantity, and continues to perform around 200 nationwide shows each year – including multiple appearances on the venerated Grand Ole Opry stage.

THE BOPPERS Release New Single "Millionaire"

THE BOPPERS Release New Single "Millionaire"

New Album 'White Lightning' Out July 1, 2022

The Boppers have released the third single from their upcoming album 'White Lightning'. The new song, titled "Millionaire", was written by Eva Eastwood.

Matte Lagerwall of The Boppers comments on the song:

"Eva is a dear friend of ours and she has written top songs for us before, so I talked to her, we discussed some song ideas ahead of the new album, and soon a newly written 'Millionaire' landed in the box. We arranged it our way and here it is - The Boppers third digital single release this year!"

Eva continues:

"Being able to write songs for their idols is every songwriter's dream. The Boppers are cool - I'm so proud."

Together with the legendary producer Tomas Skogsberg (The Hellacopters, Backyard Babies, etc), the band has recorded their new album White Lightning! The Boppers celebrate 45 years as a band, and with the album White Lightning they prove that they are still a band to be reckoned with.

It’s an album for old fans as much as for new generations and after 45 years on the road, The Boppers sound even hungrier and are always up to date.

TEMPLE OF VOID SHARE NEW SONG “THE TRANSCENDING HORROR”

NEW ALBUM SUMMONING THE SLAYER OUT JUNE 3 ON RELAPSE RECORDS

PRE-ORDER/LISTEN:

https://orcd.co/templeofvoid-sts

Detroit death-doom force TEMPLE OF VOID’s Relapse debut, Summoning the Slayer, is out NEXT WEEK on June 3. Today, TEMPLE OF VOID share the third single “The Transcending Horror”. Listen now on all streaming platforms HERE and watch the video below.

Summoning The Slayer is out June 3 on LP/CD/CS/Digital. Physical pre-order via Relapse.com are available HERE. Digital Downloads/Streaming HERE.

The critically acclaimed, Michigan-based quintet—featuring Alex Awn (guitars), Don Durr (guitars), Mike Erdody (vocals), Jason Pearce (drums), and Brent Satterly (bass)—hunkered down during the last two years, expanding upon their brand of fusty, artfully brutish death-doom with equal parts process and imagination. The outcome is an album that feels massive yet sepulchral, exploratory yet distinguishable—as if crafted deep below and inspired by all the things (mentally and physically) that come with their subterranean endeavor. Summoning the Slayer creepily evolves TEMPLE OF VOID.

Watch the “Deathtouch” music video, directed by The C.O.I.N., AT THIS LOCATION.

Produced, mixed, and mastered by Arthur Rizk (Power Trip, Sumerlands, Candy, and more,) Summoning the Slayer pairs long-time influences and a bevy of non-metal vectors into hulking columns of heavy and desolation. Focus tracks “Deathtouch,” “Hex, Curse, & Conjuration” and “The Transcending Horror” showcases TEMPLE OF VOID’s death-doom at its heights and their massive, crushing lows. But the group’s fourth album is more than that. The album’s capper, “Dissolution,” is one example of the Detroiters stretching out, the song’s ‘70s rock/singer-songwriter motifs hitting The Moody Blues and Nick Drake hard. Lyrically, Summoning the Slayer eschews commonplace horror tropes with a deeper, broader psychological discussion of the self. TEMPLE OF VOID’s ultimate death-doom metal journey is now complete.

TEMPLE OF VOID Is:

Michael Erdody – Vocals

Don Durr – Guitar

Jason Pearce – Drums

Alex Awn – Guitar

Brent Satterly –Bass
