Rising Insane Announce New Album "DEATHRACE" + Unveil Video for Title Track

Following the massive success of their latest single "Good Enough" (Feat. CASKETS), which surpassed 1 million streams in record time, German metalcore outfit Rising Insane are keeping the momentum alive. Today, the band officially announces the brand-new studio album, DEATHRACE, set for release on August 21 via Long Branch Records.

Since their debut, Rising Insane have evolved from a fierce independent quintet into a global heavy-hitter, amassing millions of streams across their previous catalog. Their journey to the top has been defined by elite company, having shared stages with genre icons like Papa Roach, Of Mice & Men, and Stray From the Path, transforming them into an unstoppable live force.

This momentum is now reaching a fever pitch with their upcoming album, DEATHRACE. The record includes the standout track "Good Enough" (Feat. CASKETS), alongside the dark and mature "Error" (Feat. Steven Jones of Bleed From Within). Fans can also look forward to explosive new collaborations on the album with ACCVSED and David Schneider (The Butcher Sisters).

DEATHRACE marks the band's most radical chapter yet, stripping away polished refinement in favor of raw power and primal riffs. It is a limit-breaking statement that finally pushes their sound to the absolute limit — Rising Insane have never stood still, but now they are finally flooring it.

Alongside the album announcement, Rising Insane have also unveiled the high-octane title track. "With DEATHRACE, we realized very early on that we hadn't just written a single for the album, but also the title track," the band shares. "For one thing, the track has that energy we feel when we're on stage celebrating with the crowd. On the other hand, the song describes the state of the world pretty accurately; alongside anger and despair, there's also a call to stick together in these times."

Melodic Hard Rock Sensation NESTOR Announce First Live Album "Live At Gothenburg Film Studios" Out 8/14

NESTOR are set to present their thrilling live energy on record for the first time with new album Live at Gothenburg Film Studios, out August 14 via Napalm Records! Originally formed back in 1989, the band took the international rock scene by storm with its comeback and first music releases in 2021, unleashing the debut album Kids in a ghost town (earning a Swedish Hard Rock/Metal Grammis nomination!). The following studio album Teenage Rebel (2024) entered several charts internationally (incl. #12 on Official German Album Charts and #19 in Sweden), and the band has gathered millions of streams on several of hits.

On Live at Gothenburg Film Studios, NESTOR showcase their nostalgic, '80s-inspired melodic anthems in a new light — infused with their signature, radiant live presence. The band has won over live audiences around the world, from huge European festivals to the Monsters Of Rock Cruise in the U.S. and headline shows in Japan, and shared stages with legends like KISS and Europe. Now, the band is gearing up to release its first-ever live album. Make sure to pre-order your physical copy, and stay tuned for the first single!

Vocalist Tobias Gustavsson comments:
"When I listen to Live at Gothenburg Film Studios, it becomes clear to me that it shows everything that NESTOR was about, from the beginning. A live performance with all the little quirks and mistakes that makes it human, a thing that I have learned to love even more in an era of AI generated music. Live at Gothenburg Film Studios is less clinical and more of a human experience in comparison to our studio albums and shows a different side of NESTOR. I hope you will enjoy it as much as we did recording it up on stage."

Pre-Order Your Copy of Live at Gothenburg Film Studios NOW.

Live at Gothenburg Film Studios treats fans old and new to a hefty selection of live versions of future classics from NESTOR's celebrated catalogue. The band brings the heat with a new rendition of the track "Firesign" (originally from Kids in a ghost town, 2021) – catchy riffs and rhythms carry the heavily 80s-inspired, authentic sound that is topped with impressive rock vocals. The nostalgia-drenched following track "Teenage Rebel" (title track of the latest studio album, 2024) gets audiences singing along without a failure with its irresistible chorus that is accompanied with emotion-loaded melodies and massive riffs. Further highlights of this extensive, 16-track offering include a live rendition of one of the biggest NESTOR hits to date, "On The Run" (also from the praised debut Kids in a ghost town, 2021), featuring epic, AOR-inspired keys and guitars, and another one of the band's possibly catchiest singalong-choruses so far.

This comprehensive live album, available even as a DVD, draws from NESTOR's impressive repertoire of arena-worthy anthems and rock ballads, polished with the very best AOR and classic 80s rock influences. Without a doubt, NESTOR continue their steady mission to restore the glory of rock!

Philip Labonte of All That Remains' 2024 Op-Ed Gains Momentum as Federal Legislation Emerges

Philip Labonte, founder and lead singer of All That Remains, is drawing attention to his 2024 op-ed, "The Silent Crisis: Why Society is Failing Men and Boys,as new legislation introduced by Reps. Nathanial Moran (TX-1) and Derrick Van Orden (WI-3) reflects growing concern around the challenges facing men and boys in America. The op-ed was followed by multiple meetings on Capitol Hill to discuss how Congress can support boys and men across the country.

In the op-ed, Labonte highlighted rising male disengagement from education, work, and community, alongside increasing rates of depression, addiction, and suicide. His perspective is shaped by decades of direct interaction with fans, many of whom have shared personal struggles with isolation and lack of purpose.

"We are watching too many young men drift without direction or support," said Labonte. "If we don't take this seriously, we risk losing an entire generation not just of men, but of fathers and leaders."

Recent data underscores these concerns. According to the Pew Research Center, men now make up just 44% of college students, while the National Institute of Mental Health reports significantly higher suicide rates among men.

While the newly introduced legislation marks an important step in elevating these issues, Labonte is calling for broader awareness and action.

"This is a societal issue that requires real attention and real solutions," he added. "Acknowledging the problem is just the beginning."

Blacktoothed Return With New Single "Monsters"

With "MONSTERS," blacktoothed deliver one of their most emotionally direct and introspective releases to date. Blending atmospheric modern rock with raw, honest lyricism, the track dives deep into the fear of losing yourself and the internal struggle of not becoming someone you no longer recognize.

At its core, "MONSTERS" explores inner darkness, self-doubt, and the lingering weight of thoughts that refuse to fade. The song reflects on how easily reality can be distorted, how feelings can be numbed, and how internalized lies can slowly take hold. Lines like "Losing our feelings/We break what's real" capture that quiet unraveling, while the repeated "Can't let you turn into a monster" feels like both a warning and a desperate attempt to hold on to what's left.

Sonically, the band expands its signature sound with a strong sense of contrast and atmosphere. Driving instrumentation and polished production meet emotional vulnerability, carried by expressive male lead vocals and haunting female backings that add depth and tension throughout the track. The result is a dynamic balance between heaviness and space, intense without losing its sense of melody.

Over the past years, blacktoothed have continuously refined their sound and identity, building a reputation for combining modern rock elements with emotional depth and strong songwriting. This steady evolution has helped them grow their audience and establish themselves as a distinctive voice within the scene.

With "MONSTERS," blacktoothed take another step forward, not just sonically but thematically. It is a song about confronting what’s inside, recognizing the signs before it's too late, and fighting to stay human in the face of everything trying to pull you under.

Evildead Release "F.A.F.O." Video

American thrash metal masters EVILDEAD released a new video for the song "F.A.F.O," which was included on their latest studio album Toxic Grace.

"Due to unforeseen medical issues I experienced, including open-heart surgery and an aortic valve replacement, we had to cancel our 2026 European tour plans," said Rob Alaniz (drums). "However, after four months of recovery, I'm back—100% and feeling better than ever at 60 and counting. I'm looking forward to our next gigs and can't wait to get back out on the road."

"We had to take some time out a few months ago, and we were uncertain how long Rob would be away from the drum kit. This was a primary factor in canceling 'Headbangers Open Air Festival' in Germany," said Juan Garcia (guitars). "We're happy to report that EvilDead recently returned to the stage for a short live set at a private event, and it was great to be back performing these classic songs. We're excited that our reissues are once again available on vinyl, CD, and streaming platforms. We also recently filmed a video for the song 'F.A.F.O.,' from our latest album, Toxic Grace, and will be announcing a few exclusive West Coast shows for later this year—stay tuned."

"Thanks to all our loyal fans, old and new! We hope you enjoy the old school 'F.A.F.O.' music video. We look forward to bringing you new music and live performances in the near future. God bless you all and God bless this planet," says vocalist Phil Flores.

Hip-Hop Legacy D12 Unleash New Single "Tear It Down" Feat. Xzibit + B-Real

After years of anticipation, one of hip-hop's most influential and unpredictable collectives is back with more. D12 officially announce their long-awaited new album, D12 Forever, arriving this summer, alongside the premiere of their blistering new single, "Tear It Down," featuring Xzibit and B-Real.

LISTEN Below.

A fearless reintroduction, "Tear It Down" captures the raw energy, irreverent humor, and razor-sharp lyricism that defined D12's rise while pushing their sound into bold new territory. The track is a high-voltage statement: Aggressive, unapologetic, and unmistakably D12.

Emerging from Detroit in the late '90s, D12 carved out a legacy unlike any other crew in hip-hop. With multi-platinum success, chart-topping records, and a cult following that spans generations, the group built a reputation for blending dark comedy, boundary-pushing storytelling, and undeniable chemistry. Their influence continues to echo across the genre — and D12 Forever stands as both a tribute to their roots and a powerful step forward.

Marking their first new single in years, "Tear It Down" signals a new era - one that honors the past while reigniting the chaos, charisma, and creative fire that make D12 so very legendary.

On the project, Kuniva offered:
"We’re stepping into a new chapter with D12 Forever, and it means more than we can fully put into words. There's a lot of history behind this name, and a lot of growth that's carried us to this moment. To the Dertyheadz who are a part of the Dirty Nation old and new. This project is for you. When you hear it, you'll feel that nostalgia, but you'll also hear where we are now creatively. The creative process behind this one pushed us in ways we didn’t expect. It’s raw, it’s real, and yeah…some of it might surprise you. But that’s the beauty of it. Growth without forgetting where we came from. We're grateful for the opportunity to keep telling our story, and even more grateful for the support that’s never left us. As we navigate this new era, just know we’re bringing you with us. D12 Forever."

While details remain tightly under wraps, D12 Forever is set to feature a lineup of collaborators that reads like a who's who of hip-hop royalty — with appearances from some of the most iconic and era-defining artists the genre has ever seen.

D12 Forever is coming June 19. The story continues…

Skid Row's Rachel Bolan Releases "Anything But You" Video

Riding the momentum of the record announcement, Rachel Bolan keeps the energy high and the buzz building with the release of his second single "Anything But You" — giving fans another glimpse of what’s ahead and another hook that sticks!

After four decades as a driving force behind Skid Row, bassist and songwriter Rachel Bolan steps forward with his first solo album under the name BOLAN.

Gargoyle of the Garden State is a bold, deeply personal debut rooted in the grit, attitude, and storytelling spirit of his New Jersey upbringing, with "Anything But You" tapping into the raw, melodic edge that runs through the whole record.

Listen to "Anything But You"  HERE.

Watch the official music video for "Anything But You"  Below!

Produced by multi-Grammy winner Nick Raskulinecz (Foo Fighters, Skid Row, Rush, Evanescence, Alice In Chains) The album began as a simple conversation between friends. What started casually quickly evolved into a record that would ultimately define Bolan's voice as both a songwriter and
storyteller.

"Gargoyle of the Garden State is not a project, it is every bit of my soul," says Bolan. "Like me, it knows when to be serious and also knows where the party is."

Pre-order the Gargoyle of the Garden State album  HERE.

The record delivers several standout moments, including a surprising cover of Oasis' "Rock And Roll Star," reimagined through Bolan's distinctive lens. Expanding well beyond his role as a bassist, Bolan performs most instruments himself, shaping the record from the ground up. Drawing on influences ranging from Brit Pop and Glam to Punk Rock and New Wave, the album reflects a lifetime immersed in music.

Gargoyle of the Garden State also features an impressive lineup of guests, including Corey Taylor, Danko Jones, Nuno Bettencourt, Damon Johnson, Steve Conte, and fellow Skid Row members Scotti Hill, Dave "Snake" Sabo and Rob Hammersmith.

The album is out on June 12 and will be available as CD Digipak, LP Gatefold, as well as digital and download.

With "Anything But You," Bolan continues to open the door to his solo world one that feels personal, loud, and undeniably himself.

SharpTone Welcomes Glasswaves to the Roster + Band Shares "fvck.me.up"

SharpTone Records is thrilled to welcome Glasswaves, a Rochester, New York-based trio that seamlessly blends dark pop, alternative rock, and electronic elements with a heavy and dynamic edge, to the global roster.

The band has shared the video for gloomy and glitchy new single "fvck.me.up." Watch it below.

"What started as a completely different idea slowly turned into a mix of electronic textures and heavy guitars that just felt right," shares singer Noah Rich. "Once the chorus came together, everything really clicked into place. At its core, the song is about destructive love and emotional dependency that pulls you toward something you know isn't good for you but can't let go of."

He finishes, "Within the world we’re building as Glasswaves, it reflects that loss of control and the feeling of giving yourself over to something bigger, whether that’s a person, a system, or something inside your own mind. This track is the first piece of a bigger story that will keep unfolding with every release."

Stay tuned for more.

Regarding their new label home, Glasswaves says, "Being able to say Glasswaves is signed to SharpTone Records is honestly surreal. It's a label we've looked up to for a long time, and knowing we're also connected to the legacy of Nuclear Blast makes it even more meaningful. Starting this new chapter with our single 'fvck.me.up' feels like a perfect way to begin."

Formed in May 2023, the lineup is rounded out by Owen Miller on guitar and Brendan Curtis on bass. In a short time, they have built a reputation for pairing atmospheric melody with explosive intensity, creating a sound that is both cinematic and emotionally raw.

Their music moves fluidly between haunting, electronic driven verses and massive, high impact moments, offering a balance of accessibility and aggression that resonates across genres. Paired with their war paint aesthetic, Glasswaves deliver a live show that is immersive, visceral, and visually striking.

In 2025, the band won the grand prize at the Ernie Ball Battle of the Bands and earned a main stage performance at Warped Tour. That same year, they toured extensively, performing nearly 60 shows and spending close to 80 days on the road, quickly establishing themselves as a compelling and consistent live act.

Now signed to Sharptone Records, Glasswaves are positioned for rapid growth as they continue to push boundaries and connect with a new generation of listeners. With a sound that refuses to be confined to a single genre and a proven work ethic on the road, the band stands ready to make a lasting impact across the alternative and heavy music space.

Amberian Dawn Share Video For New Single "The Vision Of Dreaming"

Finnish symphonic metal band AMBERIAN DAWN share a second enchantment from their new era. "The Vision of Dreaming" is another charming glimpse into the upcoming album, Temptation's Gates, releasing June 26 via Napalm Records, which is the band's first with singer Nicole Willerton. The song's poignant riff spirals right into long-term memory and first hints at the new leading lady being more than an angelic fairy gently guiding listeners through languorous realms. Symphonic metal with a modern twist, "The Vision of Dreaming" proves AMBERIAN DAWN's thrilling dedication to their craft.

Tuomas Seppälä about "The Vision of Dreaming":
"I originally composed 'The Vision of Dreaming' back in 2021, but it truly found its final form only now as we began working on it together with our new vocalist. It represents the lighter side of the album, but it still has a nice metal bite to it. I spent a great deal of time carefully crafting its sonic atmosphere. The foundation is built largely on carefully selected analog synthesizer sounds, combined with thoughtfully detailed arrangements. There's a clear touch of ABBA-like atmosphere in the song, yet at the same time, it has a fresh and heavier edge that makes it unmistakably part of our world."

Nicole Willerton about "The Vision of Dreaming":
"The lyrics of 'The Vision of Dreaming' are dreamy and describe the deep spiritual and emotional connection between two people. It explores how their shared memories, emotions, and dreams keep them intertwined, even when physically apart. The lyrics portray love as a bond that transcends space and time. In essence, the song describes a powerful bond connecting two people beyond the physical."

Rising from the home of symphonic metal are AMBERIAN DAWN: The Finnish five-piece is set to open Temptation's Gates, their new album, out on June 26, 2026 via Napalm Records. The band's first release with new singer Nicole Willerton takes them onto a more modern, occasionally even surprisingly rough path. With it, AMBERIAN DAWN, led by founder, guitarist, and main composer Tuomas Seppälä, slowly emancipate themselves from being "just" the band who—gloriously!—covered Swedish pop legends ABBA with their previous album, Take a Chance – A Metal Tribute to ABBA (2022).

Infusing their epic keyboard sounds with guitar-driven melodic metal, AMBERIAN DAWN reach into a world unknown and prove their versatility while their catchy anthems remain strong and charming as ever. Temptation's Gates has the band determined for a future sparkling temptingly bright — and they're ready to step through that gate.

Tuomas Seppälä about Temptation's Gates:
"When I started working with our new singer, I felt the same kind of excitement I had years ago when I began creating our debut album back in 2007 and 2008. At that time, AMBERIAN DAWN were still newcomers to the band world, even though we were already experienced musicians. With Temptation's Gates, I felt that same spark of creating something new for the first time in a long while. I hadn't composed many songs yet when I began collaborating with our new vocalist. Most of the material came together surprisingly fast once I realized how easy and natural it was to work with her. I was deeply inspired by Nicole's enthusiasm, dedication, and efficiency. I truly feel that the band has been reborn with her joining us. Musically, our style has evolved once again, perhaps moving slightly back toward a heavier, more metal-driven direction. At the same time, elements of our classic sound and identity are naturally still present. In many ways, creating this album felt like going back to my roots. For the first time in a long while, I also took on a bigger role as a guitarist. I focused more on crafting guitar riffs, played roughly half of the guitar leads on the album, and even performed one full guitar solo myself."

Nicole Willerton about Temptation's Gates:
Temptation's Gates is the first album I've sung on and recorded with AMBERIAN DAWN, and it has been a beautiful experience. While writing the lyrics, each song was inspired by feelings, memories, and moments that were especially prominent during the creation of the album. Writing the lyrics felt like diving into the subconscious, bringing these emotions to the surface. It was wonderful to explore the creative process of arranging the backing vocals. I especially love how AMBERIAN DAWN's music makes strong use of backing vocals, helping to create a fuller, richer sound around the lead vocals. It's definitely a fiery album that combines a broad spectrum of emotional depths, ranging from love and melancholy to darker elements such as fear and inner struggles. A recurring message throughout the album is to embrace one’s true desires and to accept and acknowledge one’s honest feelings."

unpeople Return With Video for Ferocious New Single "clouds"

The formidable unpeople return today with the video for their ferocious new single "clouds" — a whirlwind track offering unforgettable hooks, and addictive harmonies, through to crushing riffs and singalongs — out now on SharpTone Records.

"clouds" embodies everything that unpeople are about. At its core, the track is a defiant rejection of external pressure, trend-chasing, and the hollow pursuit of validation.

Listen HERE and watch the video Below.

"'clouds' is essentially about not letting yourself be influenced by what other people think you should be doing to get ahead artistically, and trusting your own vision and process," explains frontman Jake Crawford. "I could feel myself being pulled in lots of directions when we started the band and I'm glad we stuck to our guns. I feel like this song is an excellent representation of us doing just that: 'Not buying it,' i.e. quick fixes or hopping on trends — be it musically or the way we present ourselves as a unit."

Comprised of Crawford, Luke Caley, Em Lodge, and Richard Rayner, unpeople are a unique four-piece driven with a mission to fuse powerful lyricism, hefty riffs, and melodic accessibility, and the band channels collective frustration into music that speaks directly to those who feel overlooked or undervalued. The meaning behind their name lies at the core of their identity: "Unpeople" — those deemed politically unimportant or without value. It's a concept the band embraces fully, creating a space where like-minded individuals can find genuine connection.

With just the one EP under their belts, unpeople continue to massively impress and see their sound combine hook-laden choruses, bone-crunching breakdowns, and lush harmonies, challenging preconceived notions of what heavy music can be. Tracks released already include "the garden" + "waste."

This same insatiable energy translates effortlessly to their live shows, which have already seen them support the likes of Metallica and Coheed & Cambria. And this summer will see a string of festival appearances that include a huge Main Stage opening slot at Download Festival, as well as Slam Dunk, Hurricane, Southside, Copenhell, and more — full dates below.

With "clouds," unpeople reaffirm their place as a band unafraid to challenge both themselves and their audience, delivering a powerful and timely message.

We are unpeople. You are unpeople. We are all unpeople.

Hardcore Torchbearers Pro-Pain Release Single + Lyric Video "Scorched Earth"

HARDCORE TORCHBEARERS PRO-PAIN RELEASE LYRIC VIDEO FOR NEW SINGLE "SCORCHED EARTH"

NEW ALBUM, STONE COLD ANGER, RELEASES MAY 15 VIA NAPALM RECORDS —
PRE-ORDER

"And so it begins…": Hardcore juggernauts PRO-PAIN share the third single from their upcoming album, Stone Cold Anger, out May 15 via Napalm Records. "Scorched Earth" sets the tone for the future, accompanied by heavy riffs, catchy guitars, and sing-alongs. A sinister yet fiercely anthemic track, "Scorched Earth" is a pummeling demonstration of power, perfectly fitting for the band's first album in 11 years. PRO-PAIN are back—and they stayed on top of their heavy game!

Gary Meskil about "Scorched Earth":
"'Scorched Earth' explores what happens when ordinary people are pushed to their breaking point. Drawing inspiration from films such as the 1990s Michael Douglas drama Falling Down, the lyrics examine how pressure, frustration, and a sense of powerlessness can build over time. The song speaks to themes of reckoning, consequence, and the desire for genuine accountability."

Legendary New York hardcore juggernauts PRO-PAIN make their debut on Napalm Records with their 16th studio album, Stone Cold Anger, out on May 15. Southpaw FLHC Announce "The Standard" Out 7/31 Via Spinefarm + Share "Rolling Stone" Video

Fast-rising hardcore band SOUTHPAW FLHC — Alan King, guitar; Harrison Linder, drums; Marc Laroche, bass; and Daryn LaMontagne, vocals —  have built their reputation brick by brick, focusing on the messages of self-empowerment, pushing through struggle, perseverance, and building a legacy that speaks to all walks of life.

Today, they have announced their upcoming album The Standard, which arrives July 31 via Spinefarm. Pre-order it here.

The band has also thrown another haymaker in the form of the video for new single "Rolling Stone." Watch it below.

"'Rolling Stone' leans into the reality of living a fast life on the road in pursuit of chasing your purpose," the band states. "Losing loved ones and pieces of yourself along the way are part of the game. In the process of moving towards your purpose, the climb feels never ending, yet time continues on. But as a man, you must walk that line in order to create your own path and legacy. In honor of frontman Daryn Lamontagne's grandfather. Rest in power, Pops."

"All gas, no brakes. Driven by hunger, discipline, and a relentless passion for the love of the game. This is The Standard," the band declares.

Southpaw FLHC, who bridge the gap between the old and new generations of hardcore with elements of punk, metal and hip hop, crashed the scene with their self-titled EP, released in 2020. They haven’t taken a breath since, releasing seven singles with accompanying music videos. Clearly, their DIY ethic is strong, as the band also hit the road — and hard. They've shared stages with and toured alongside With Blood Comes Cleansing, Tracheotomy, Bodysnatcher, Surfaced, and Hoods, inciting furious moshpits in every city they played. In 2025, they embarked on a headline run with Cutthroats, Kind Eyes, Unvow, and Resistor. Their hometown roots run deep as marrow, as evidenced by the fact that they headline and packed the first-ever show at a brand new venue called HARDLOVE in Jacksonville. Southpaw FLHC ain't playing and they've established themselves as an up and comer in the hardcore scene. This is only the beginning. Their worldwide partnership with Spinefarm will allow them to ascend to the next level — because that is where they are ultimately headed.

Her Head's On Fire Announce New Album "Am I Not Your Girl?" + Share "We're Not Running"

Her Head's on Fire announce their new record Am I Not Your Girl?, out via Iodine Recordings on July 17. Pre-order it here.

Alongside the album news, the band has shared first single "We're Not Running." Listen below.

"If you stand alone with a brick in your hand against an oncoming wave of tanks with no hope of success, you still throw the brick," vocalist Syd Jagger says. "If there is an overreaching theme to 'AINYG? It would be hope in the face of adversity. This song was the last one written for the album, a late night jam sent to me by the band. 10 minutes later, I had the melody and chorus, sometimes they write themselves. I wasn't trying to but you can hear me starting to blow out the vocal microphone during the 'I won't let go' part. All of the vocals for this album were done in one day so I waited til the end of the session to record this one because I knew I wanted a raspier spent sound."

Am I Not Your Girl? is the latest from a band that's excelled at weaving past and present to deliver rock music that hits a sweet spot of post-hardcore grit and genuine songcraft. Am I Not Your Girl? is an exercise in simplicity born from years of consistency, prioritizing true-blue songwriting that draws on a lifetime of influences, from Revolution Summer sincerity to the conciseness modeled by The Replacements: Big choruses, big moments, big emotions.

Despite its members having played in a murderer's row of beloved, important bands in the worlds of post-hardcore and emo (Garrison, Saves the Day, The Bomb, and more), the four-piece have locked in on what the band really is across two previous records, College Rock and Clove Cigarettes and Strange Desires. Her Head's on Fire isn't trying to coast off those acts but rather push their work forward.

Mixed by Jack Shirley (Deafheaven, Joyce Manor), the album excels at making the listener feel like they're in the room with the band as it happens, with production focused on capturing the music live rather than creating anything artificial.

Nowhere is the band's philosophy better illustrated than in Am I Not Your Girl?'s cover art. Painted by Joy Johnson and inspired by the photography of Nan Goldin, it's a collage of illusory moments all occurring within the same space, one emotion bleeding into the next. In the same way that different feelings melt into one another, the record's emotive highs do the same, each beat of exuberance, pain, and sadness flowing into the one that follows. "Maybe this record's on in the background while people have a beautiful conversation, fall in love, or navigate a brutal moment," Jagger says. "I am honored to be any part of that soundtrack."

At the core of the band's mission is community: Playing shows and inviting the world in. Having shared stages with the likes of Quicksand, Hey Mercedes, and The Suicide Machines, there's a sense of connection that threads through both the music itself and their consistent activity as a touring act. "This thing attracted us because we were outliers, and we needed to feel less alone in the world," Jagger says. "We can't let the ugly trappings of the world creep in and take a hold of this thing. This community, this love is what it is all about."
