PHILADELPHIA’S SLIK HELVETIKA IS BACK WITH THE NEW FULL RELEASE , FEATURING THE BRAND-NEW TRACK, “WALK THROUGH FIRE"

One of the heaviest bands to emerge from the Philadelphia rock scene is Slik Helvetika. From the glory days of the Philadelphia and New Jersey rock scene of the 80s that spawned Cinderella, Britny Fox, Pretty Poison, John Eddie, and an entire laundry list of artists who went forward to be stars, there was a band called Destroyer. Led by Michael Myers, the band had unknowingly sidestepped all the woes and pressures of being “that commodity” and unwanted influences. Taking some time to let the songs and playing develop to be the best it could resulted in that band today called Slik Helvetika. Lots of driving energy, melody, memorable chorus hooks, great playing and strong lyrics.

The line up has always featured Michael Myers on lead guitar and vocals – who has had the privilege of playing alongside a variety of talented musicians, such as Kjell Benner [formerly of Quiet Riot] and Vern Parsons [Greg Howe]. The newest full release, Walk Through Fire, which drops through Deko Entertainment on February 20th, kicks off with the first single that was released in December Solar Head. Which, begins with an unsettling actual recording of solar wind, then erupts into full ass kicking mode.

Walk Through Fire consists of 13 blistering tracks including a cover of the Sweet’s “Fox on the Fun” and the title track, which the group's long-time singer/guitarist/songwriter Myers was happy to elaborate on.

"Do you ever feel like you are walking through fire just contending with the daily insanity and events of this world? Question everything! Humans have been giving up their power and potential by letting those who think they are in power create a mental box of falsities and limitations.  We all should be different people today than yesterday if we continue to learn as we go. Right?  Many stopped asking questions, acquiesced and bowed down to so-called 'authority figures' and put the blinders on. Those same authority figures run highly advanced psychological operations to divide us, keep us fighting with each other while they rob us mentally and literally. Those who noticed and objected to this system since birth are not alone.”

OUT NOW: Laughing Hyenas That Girl: Recordings 1986-1994

If ever a band deserved an LP of live material, it’s the Laughing Hyenas. As Wolf Eyes’ Aaron Dilloway so eloquently put it, “The Laughing Hyenas were the scariest band I have ever seen.” With their roots firmly planted in Detroit’s Cass Corridor punk rock and hardcore scene of the early 80s, the Laughing Hyenas took aggressive rock ‘n’ roll to a completely different plane.

Out today from Dissentience!

DISSENTIENCE, the progressive death-thrash unit from Bethlehem, PA, returns with their most conceptually ambitious and sonically punishing release to date: Kaiju. Scheduled for release on February 20, 2026, Kaiju is a four-track concept EP that fuses cinematic horror, crushing riffs, and lyrical dread into a singular apocalyptic vision. Drawing inspiration from classic Japanese monster films and the unknowable terrors of Lovecraftian mythology, the record explores the narrative of a colossal, nameless beast as it decimates a city. Rather than paying tribute to kaiju lore in name alone, DISSENTIENCE builds a world where riffs, lyrics, and production align to place the listener in the path of annihilation.

The EP begins with "Obsidian Tomb", a track that captures the initial moments of catastrophe. A somber acoustic intro builds tension before the monster is unleashed. The song moves through blast-laden choruses, thrash-driven verses, and groove-heavy interludes, all while painting a picture of destruction through the eyes of a terrified populace. The band intentionally avoids naming the monster or the city to keep the setting timeless and the fear universal. This choice also reinforces the Lovecraftian tone by allowing the horror to remain undefined, inviting each listener to project their own dread into the story.

"Chaos Absolute" takes a different narrative angle by focusing on the political and social collapse that follows the attack. Opening with a syncopated, high-tension riff and shifting into a massive, deceptively catchy groove, the track evokes the panic and futility of global leaders attempting to respond to an unstoppable force. Frantic guitar harmonies, dissonant progressions, and a brief clean bridge section give way to some of the heaviest material on the record. The phrase “fall into chaos absolute” functions as both a summary of the storyline and a reflection of the listener’s experience as the music surges with desperation.

The title track "Kaiju" represents the climax of the EP, unleashing a relentless barrage of violence and devastation. The lyrics describe grotesque scenes of bloodshed and helplessness as the beast rips through the last remnants of resistance. Riffs churn beneath guttural vocals, with every passage dripping with urgency and rage. The music mirrors the scale of the narrative, building to overwhelming levels of sonic brutality. The repeated line “Kaiju will bring forth a new age of rot” serves as the thesis for the entire record, framing the monster not only as a literal destroyer but as a symbol of humanity’s self-inflicted reckoning.

The final track "Death Shroud" transitions into the aftermath. With the monster gone, what remains is a landscape of ash, grief, and existential dread. The band leans into dissonance and atmosphere, balancing crushing heaviness with bleak introspection. Survivors are left to make sense of their trauma, questioning whether the world can rebuild or if it even should. The Kaiju, now retreated, is no less present. Its legacy hangs in the smoke, a constant reminder of how fragile everything truly was. “The Kaiju may lay dormant, but the anguish remains” is the emotional core of the track and perhaps of the entire release.

Kaiju was produced by DISSENTIENCE in collaboration with Corey Pierce, recorded at Peach Pie Sound by Matt Menafro, mixed by Zeuss, and mastered by Alan Douches. The yet-to-be-revealed cover art is by Matt Stikker, known for his vivid and brutal visual storytelling. This release follows the band’s prior offerings Mask of Pretense (2018) and Empire Anatomy (2022), continuing their evolution as songwriters and sonic architects.

Refusing to imitate the past, DISSENTIENCE draws from influences like TRIVIUM, REVOCATION, SYLOSIS, THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, DEATH, and LAMB OF GOD, all while forging a sound that avoids the trappings of nostalgia. Their music is defined by technicality, brutality, and a refusal to be boxed into genre clichés. Critics have taken note. Decibel Magazine remarked that DISSENTIENCE channels the essence of classic thrash and death metal without creating a carbon copy. Metal Injection praised their ability to blend groove and fury in a way that hits with maximum impact.

With Kaiju, DISSENTIENCE has crafted more than just a record. It is a fully realized conceptual journey that pushes their sound further into new territory. Every song contributes to a unified narrative of destruction, dread, and reflection. It is a rare example of a metal record that is both musically blistering and thematically rich. Where others nod to monsters, DISSENTIENCE gives them voice, weight, and consequence.

About DISSENTIENCE:

Formed in 2013 in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, DISSENTIENCE is a progressive death-thrash metal band that combines the technical precision of death metal with the relentless energy of thrash. Rejecting retro imitation and genre stagnation, the band creates forward-thinking metal that is both aggressive and dynamic. Drawing influence from bands like TRIVIUM, REVOCATION, SYLOSIS, THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, DEATH, and LAMB OF GOD, DISSENTIENCE forges a sound built on sharp riffs, crushing rhythms, and inventive songwriting.

The lineup features Connor Valentin on guitar and vocals, James Vitale on guitar, Sean Langer on bass, and Nick Scherden on drums. Known for their intense live performances and refusal to be confined to a single subgenre, the band continuously pushes their sound in new directions. Their music balances chaos and melody while exploring dark themes through a modern lens.

After releasing their debut EP Mask of Pretense in 2018 and their full-length album Empire Anatomy in 2022, DISSENTIENCE returned with the concept EP Kaiju in 2026. The record blends the devastation of giant monster cinema with the dread of Lovecraftian horror, showcasing the band’s evolution in sound and narrative depth. DISSENTIENCE has earned a reputation as one of the most compelling rising forces in heavy music. Their mission is clear: to make metal that is uncompromising, inventive, and unapologetically intense.

DISSENTIENCE is:

  • Connor Valentin – Guitar / Vocals

  • James Vitale – Guitar

  • Sean Langer – Bass

  • Nick Scherden – Drums

Out Today - Necronomicon Ex Mortis - Zombie Blood Nightmare

Chicago horror-death fiends NECRONOMICON EX MORTIS return with their most ferocious and unhinged release to date, the aptly titled Zombie Blood Nightmare. Out Now, this six-song EP is a whirlwind of 90s death metal stomp, 80s shred obsession, and tongue-in-cheek B-movie gore that cements the band’s identity as both serious riff-worshippers and gleeful purveyors of horror camp.

From the opening grind of “Left To Die,” listeners are thrown into a pit of decay and despair, guided by a colossal guest solo from none other than Jeff Young of MEGADETH. The song lurches like a doomed soul chained in a gore pit, every riff dripping with rot, until Young’s guitar screams carve through the gloom. Without pause, the band erupts into “No More Room In Hell,” a SUFFOCATION-inspired riff frenzy that pays homage to Dawn of the Dead. It’s a brutal sprint of tremolo riffs, spiraling solos, and lyrical nods to malls under siege and the endless march of the undead.

If excess is a virtue, “Chopped Up and Burned” is a cathedral. Seven minutes of gratuitous death-thrash chaos, the track features blistering guest solos from Matthew Mills and Jeff Young, and pays blood-soaked tribute to The Evil Dead. The band thrives in the chaos, with riffs piled high on top of each other until the track collapses under its own madness. By contrast, “Lumbering, Blood Sucking Freaks” staggers like its namesake: a mid-tempo, oozing collection of riffs that shouldn’t work together, yet somehow lock into an eerie, zombified groove.

The bloodthirst only intensifies with “Hungry For Brains,” a thrash assault structured around symmetrical diminished scales and spiked by a guest solo from James Norton, a personal connection from guitarist Michael Nystrom Bala’s college days. Lyrically blunt and musically savage, it’s a zombie anthem that gnashes at the listener until there’s nothing left but bone. The EP closes with “Démoni,” the most technically demanding of the set, inspired by the 1985 Italian horror film Demons. Featuring time-signature shifts, Suffocation-style brutality, and a grotesque slam section in 5/4, it’s also the only track without a Bala solo, but instead, Manuel Barbara takes command, shredding with reckless abandon as the song spirals into total madness.

Zombie Blood Nightmare is NECRONOMICON EX MORTIS at their most chaotic and gleefully grotesque, but also their most ambitious. Produced, recorded, and mixed by Charlie Waymire at Ultimate Studios, and mastered by Ernesto Homeyer, the EP boasts a sound as sharp and punishing as its subject matter. Genoicide Artworks provides the cover art, completing a package that is equal parts brutal, absurd, and lovingly steeped in the traditions of horror metal.

Over the past three years, the band has released a steady stream of EPs (Necronomicon Ex Mortis, Silver Bullet, The Mother of Death) and splits (You’ve Got Red On You with BLOODFEAST RITUAL), carving out a niche with their technical fury and horror-inspired narratives. They’ve drawn praise from No Clean Singing (“a band to watch”), Metal Noise (“there is so much depth and texture”), and Games, Brrraaains & A Head-Banging Life (“thrilling heaviness”), while even catching the attention of Christian Muenzner (ex-OBSCURA).

With Zombie Blood Nightmare, NECRONOMICON EX MORTIS deliver not just another step forward, but a gory leap through the gateway to hell. It’s a record that pays homage to their death metal forebears while shamelessly indulging in horror schlock and fretboard excess. It may open new doors, or as the band prefers to put it, “new gateways to hell.”

About NECRONOMICON EX MORTIS:

Formed in Chicago in 2023, NECRONOMICON EX MORTIS have quickly carved out their place in the metal underground with a sound that is equal parts 90s death metal stomp, 80s shred worship, and campy B-horror storytelling. Guitarist and songwriter Michael Nystrom Bala, guitarist and orchestrator Manuel Barbara, bassist Yusuf Rashid, drummer Joey Ferretti, and vocalist John Sawicki bring a mix of technical ferocity and tongue in cheek horror fun that is as brutal as it is entertaining.

Since their debut EPs Necronomicon Ex Mortis and Silver Bullet in 2023, the band has unleashed a steady stream of releases including You and Your Friends Are Dead: Game Over in 2024, The Mother of Death in 2024, and the split You’ve Got Red On Youwith BLOODFEAST RITUAL in 2025. Their relentless creativity culminated in the 2025 compilation From the Void…THEY CAME, which further established their reputation as prolific riff mongers with a love for the grotesque and absurd.

With recognition from outlets such as No Clean Singing, Metal Noise, and Games, Brrraaains & A Head-Banging Life, and praise from Christian Muenzner of OBSCURA, NECRONOMICON EX MORTIS are being hailed as a band to watch. Their music fuses thrashy death metal brutality with dizzying solos while embracing the bloody theatrics of cult cinema. Equal parts homage and parody, their songs invite listeners to bang their heads, laugh at the gore, and revel in the chaos.

At their core, NECRONOMICON EX MORTIS are here to shred, to bleed, and to drag metal deeper into the crypt, one zombie, demon, and undead riff at a time.

NECRONOMICON EX MORTIS is:

  • Michael Nystrom Bala — Guitars / Songwriting

  • Manuel Barbara — Guitars / Orchestration

  • Yusuf Rashid — Bass

  • Joey Ferretti — Drums

  • John Sawicki — Vocals

Robin Ross & The Melodynes unveil 'Mind Space' album & ‘Campfire on the Moon’ video

Indie rockers Robin Ross & The Melodynes present their new 'Mind Space' album. Their second album, released via Pennsylvania indie imprint RPM Entertainment on February 20, showcases their diverse sound, mixing their own flavor of indie rock and classic rock sounds. The band also presents their new video for focus track 'Campfire on the Moon'.

Previewed by the B-52s-esque lead track 'Spill No Mo Wine' and the single 'Echo of Love', a shimmering anthem of sonic intimacy, 'Mind Space' is a head-trip with heart, blasting off from bedroom daydreams into a technicolor inner universe. Built from raw acoustic bones and lit up with electric spark, it balances cosmic drift with dance-floor swagger -- a joy-chasing, freedom-fueled reminder that the wildest frontier is the one inside your own head.

Robin Ross & The Melodynes is not just about music - it's about big fun between like-minded artists, including Wharton Tiers, JoEllen Gaetani, Katlyn Albrecht, Emery Rhodes, Tony Anniello. Joe (Bass) Torres, TW Howell and Nancy Isola. That shared joy is woven into every note, creating an infectious energy that invites the listener right into the heart of the party.

"Into my mind we roam. If we close the world around us and keep your eyes open, you can see prisms if you let them through. 'Mind Space' is a world of prisms -- some reach far and some are close. The title track 'Mind Space' is about resting in bed and drifting to the stars. Being the captain in your mind you can go wherever you want. Other songs like 'Spill No Mo Wine' and 'Shiny Blue Shoes' are our party stamp songs. Whatever world you land on, let's hope joy and spirits are plentiful," says Robin Ross.

"Other songs are about the journey. 'Follow' is aboard a spaceship en route to Mars, while 'Campfire On the Moon' is about all of your campfires in life together with others in a secluded sphere like the moon. We give in life as we move along the 'Echo of Love', which is a song about love by JoJo. I wrote the music on an acoustic guitar and built from there, adding the Strat later for the edge. 'Cause I Do' is something we do when we fall in love along life's flight. 'Taking All of My Heart' is another change ball, more of a pop love song about being swept off your feet on your journey. 'Come On In' is about being welcome -- come in let's dance. And 'Curious Mind' is about being tossed around in a dream but waking up to hope and beauty in someone someday".

This album was recorded at Baa Baa Leaf Music Studio in Milford, Pennsylvania, whereRoss produced and engineered it, along with famed engineer Jonathan Duckett (Phillip Glass, Kenny G, David Sanborn)

"This album wouldn't be complete if it didn't have a few side pocket tunes. 'Free the Young'is one of those songs, recalling castles and kings, where tyranny was born to a new generation -- a crest that is upon us now. This is a message for youth to question history and fight for freedom," saysRobin Ross.

"The other side pocket song is'Sweet Jane', a blues riff song about a pooch named Jane. We were chilling with Sweet Jane and hit the blues and her master, Tony, wrote up some lyrics. We put this down in the studio and have been playing it ever since."

Emerging from the New Jersey and New York music scenes in 1988, Robin Ross has grown into a central figure in the creative pulse of Milford, PA. A multi-faceted musician, songwriter, and producer for cover thirty years, he has released numerous album while helping launch and develop several recording spaces, includingTriple R StudiosandSound Complexnear NYC. He has since grown his current hub,Baa Baa Leaf Music Studiointo a creative sanctuary and production house.

In the early ’90s, Ross co-foundedLaughing Jack(later renamedJack’s Maze), praised for a progressive rock style echoing the grandeur of Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin. Though business pursuits eventually pulled him down a different path, 2021 marked a return to form: he built Baa Baa Leaf Music Studio and reunited with bandmates Frank Cinquegrana, Scott Cowan, and Joe Torres to record new material, with a fresh Jack’s Maze release anticipated later this year.

As of February 20, 'Mind Space' is available on digital platforms, including Apple Music,SpotifyAmazon and Bandcamp, where his 2025 debut'Back To The Forest' EP  asRobin Ross & The TW Howlers, is also available. CDs can be obtained athttps://robinrossmusic.com/ music.

ARISING EMPIRE ALERT: The Veer Union Release New Album "Reinvention"

This is what a reset actually sounds like.

With Reinvention, The Veer Union return sharper, louder and more focused than ever. The album doesn't feel like a comeback — it feels like a band reconnecting with its core and pushing forward at the same time. Heavy, melodic and emotionally charged, Reinvention captures everything The Veer Union have built over years in the scene, refined into their most confident statement yet.

At the center of the record sits "Feel Again," the album's focus track and emotional backbone. It’s a song about breaking through numbness, about finding that spark after being worn down — and it hits with soaring hooks, crushing guitars and the kind of chorus that sticks instantly. "Feel Again" isn't just a highlight, it’s a reminder of why The Veer Union's music resonates so deeply with their audience.

The album also marks the peak of an incredibly successful campaign cycle. Over the past months, The Veer Union rolled out a steady run of singles that kept momentum building — tracks like "My Empire," "Sea Of Fear," "Caught In The Crossfire," "Sunk Your Teeth In" and "Meet Your Maker" each showing a different side of the band while staying unmistakably true to their sound. Each release pulled in more listeners, more attention, and more anticipation for what Reinvention would become.

That consistency paid off. With nearly 300,000 unique monthly listeners on Spotify, The Veer Union are proving that their reach is bigger than ever — connecting with longtime fans while constantly pulling in new ones across the global heavy scene.

Reinvention isn't about chasing trends or rewriting the past. It's about evolution, resilience and rediscovering purpose. This is The Veer Union fully locked in — and sounding stronger than ever.

LIGHTNING STRIKES Release New Album, The King Is Victorious, February 18th!

Los Angeles–based heavy metal outfit Lightning Strikes return with their long-awaited new full-length album, The King Is Victorious, out today, February 18th.

The album features eight powerful new tracks and showcases a truly international lineup of elite musicians. The majority of The King Is Victorious was recorded by Lightning Strikes co-founder Maksudian, alongside Japanese guitar virtuoso Norifumi Shima (Concerto Moon), American bass legend Barry Sparks (Michael Schenker Group, Yngwie Malmsteen), and rising Argentinian vocalist Mariano Gardella. Rounding out the album is a special guest appearance by keyboard maestro Derek Sherinian (Black Country Communion, Sons Of Apollo), who also appeared on the band’s debut release.

Karpis Maksudian shares:

They said heavy metal was just noise.

They said the wait was too long.

They said the fire fades with time.

They were wrong.

This album isn’t just music — it’s years of pressure, pain, growth, and hunger forged into sound. Every riff hits harder. Every drum feels like thunder. Every scream carries everything I’ve been holding back.

This is the heavy metal you’ve been waiting for.

Superstar-level heaters. No fillers. No limits.

Just raw power.

I didn’t come back quietly.

I came back louder. Stronger. Hungrier.

When this drops, it’s not just an album release — it’s a takeover.

Turn your speakers up.

Tell the world heavy metal is alive.

And get ready… because once this is out, there’s no turning back.

And I also as a producer want to take this moment to speak from the heart.

From the bottom of my soul, thank you to every single person who was part of this powerful journey. This album was built on passion, fire, and brotherhood — and I’m beyond grateful to the warriors who stepped into the storm with me.

A special, thunderous thank you to the legends who played on the title track “The King Is Victorious” without hesitation, without conditions — just pure love for the music and the metal spirit:

Rowan Robertson, Mark Zavon, Craig Goldy, Norifumi Shima, Takehiko "Shake" Kogure, Dario Mollo, Mariano Gardella, Rob Math, Barry Sparks, Derek Sherinian, Michael T. Ross and the Moscow Symphony Orchestra.

Your talent, your energy, your riffs, your solos, your power — you helped turn this song into a battlefield anthem. This wasn’t just collaboration… this was unity. This was heavy metal brotherhood at its finest.

The King is Victorious because of all of you.

Let the world hear it.

Originally formed in 1984, Lightning Strikes made history as the first heavy metal band with an all Armenian-American lineup, predating the emergence of System Of A Down by more than a decade. After disbanding, Maksudian revived the Lightning Strikes name more than 25 years later, assembling a new lineup to record the band’s self-titled debut album in 2016.

That release featured Brazilian vocalist Nando Fernandes (Sinistra, Hangar), drummer Rob Math, Derek Sherinian, and legendary former Black Sabbath vocalist Tony Martin, who sang on and penned lyrics for standout tracks “Death Valley” and “301 AD (Sins Of Our Fathers).” Mixed by renowned producer Roy Z, the album was met with strong critical acclaim and peaked at #6 on Japan’s Burrn! Magazine import charts.

After our former guitarist, John Funk, informed us last spring that, “I just have no passion to play hard rock anymore,” we had to decide whether to replace him with another second guitarist. We very briefly considered holding auditions, but rather than going through the agony (and time!) of that process, we elected to forge ahead as a three-piece, and have never looked back or regretted our decision.

The album features songs from our first two studio albums, as well as a brand new track, “Lover,” a tune I wrote about a fellow who has watched a woman being mistreated by someone from afar, and tells her to “leave him – c’mon with me”! “Lover” is the first single from our upcoming third studio album, which again will be co-produced, recorded, and mixed by Johnny’s “Blood Brother,” the incomparable Brian Bart. We cannot wait for our fans to hear us get back to our hard rock roots - this time as a three-piece!”

Band Members:
Johnny O’Neil: Lead Vocals, All Guitars
Benny Craig: Bass Guitar and Background Vocals
Joachim Baecker: Drums and Background Vocals

JOHNNY O'NEIL:
O’Neil has been in practice as a Ph.D.-level clinical psychologist for over two decades, quite a feat considering he dropped out of high school at 16 to focus on his burgeoning music career. After more than a decade of achieving many of his musical dreams, including the ‘80s with Dare Force, O’Neil decided to go back to school at the age of 28 to get his GED. He went on to earn his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota, followed by a Master’s degree and eventually a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from The Ohio State University.

Now a solopreneur in private practice as a forensic psychologist, O’Neil conducts Independent Psychological Evaluations (IPEs) of claimants involved in workers' comp and personal injury cases, and provides courtroom testimony as an expert witness – a fascinating occupation to be sure. In fact, he found himself interviewing dozens of Minneapolis police officers who filed disability claims due to PTSD in the wake of the murder of George Floyd in 2020.

Not surprisingly, for O’Neil, playing music is an invaluable form of therapy and expressing his emotions. “I don’t have a choice, I have to play music,” he says. “It’s how I’m wired and how I preserve my sanity. It’s therapy for me. I’ll be performing until my last gasp.”

O’Neil fell in love with music at the age of five, begging his parents to buy him a guitar after seeing The Beatles perform on The Ed Sullivan Show, which they finally did when he turned eight years old. The stars aligned when his future Dare Force bandmate, Brian Bart, moved in across the street when he was nine. “We had a tussle over something silly in the front yard, then my mom invited us in for a piece of cake; we’ve been thick as thieves ever since,” O’Neil says.

O’Neil and Bart immediately bonded over their mutual love of music (including The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Johnny Winter, Steppenwolf, and Creedence Clearwater Revival), and quickly formed a band together. One of their first gigs was at Sunny Hollow Elementary School in 6th grade, where Bob Dylan’s younger brother, David Zimmerman, was their music teacher and introduced their band to an audience of 500-some fellow classmates.

Infusing his songwriting with his personal values of tolerance, compassion and empathy throughout his career, O’Neil believes that an important part of an artist’s job is to not only reflect what’s going on in the world, but also to comment on it and influence it. To this end, O’Neil’s driving rock tunes go beyond being simply upbeat, feel-good rock ‘n roll, to songs that really have something to say to the world.

Eric Church’s 'Evangeline vs. The Machine Comes Alive (Official Motion Picture Soundtrack)' Out Now

With his latest critically acclaimed project, Evangeline vs. The Machine, earning a nod for Best Contemporary Country Album at the recent GRAMMY Awards, maverick entertainer Eric Church brings his live show to fans at home with the release of Evangeline vs. The Machine Comes Alive (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) via MCA. The 19-track live album compliments the IMAX® exclusive theatrical release of Evangeline vs. The Machine Comes Alive, with tickets to the remaining Feb. 14 showing of the limited engagement available now via IMAX.com/EricChurch.

Both the concert film and the companion album – the first live album ever recorded at The Pinnacle in Nashville – showcase Church performing his critically acclaimed eighth studio album front-to-back before transitioning into select catalog hits, all reimagined with a six-piece band, four-piece horns, four-piece strings, eight-piece choir and vocalist Joanna Cotten. Watch an official performance video of “Springsteen” live from the Pinnacle HERE.

“The thing about the IMAX film is it freezes a moment in time. I’m going to get older; those fans are going to get older, but we froze that moment in time forever musically,” Church shared on “CBS Mornings” earlier this week. “If I want to watch a sporting event tonight…if I want to go to the game, that’s great. If I don’t, I’m going to watch it on television. You can’t do that with concerts, right? I can’t just tune in to who’s playing in Cleveland tonight. So, concerts are a little bit different that way, and that’s why the IMAX film mattered.” Watch the full interview HERE.

The film and live album arrive as Church continues his Free the Machine Tour, earning praise from critics across the country as the run continues. “From the jump, it was clear this wasn’t going to be about flash – it was about mood, intention, and immersion…The entire show felt less like a concert and more like a film unfolding in real time,” shared Relive Magazine of the recent D.C. stop, where The Music Universe added, “if you can see only one country music concert in 2026, it needs to be the Free the Machine Tour…there will not be a bigger, fuller all-live sound on the road this year.”

The Minnesota Star Tribune opined in St. Paul, “Eric Church is country music’s most courageous and unpredictable superstar – both musically and culturally…The concert, like Church’s career, was about conviction not convention, about evolving, not standing pat, about the moment, not tradition,” while the Green Bay Press Gazette proclaimed the show to be “so nuanced, so sneaky sophisticated, so good that the sum of its parts was as great as the whole. That’s saying something for an artist who increasingly transcends the boundaries of today’s country to be one of music’s more electrifying live acts – period,” with Cleveland.com perhaps stating it most simply, “Country music’s iconoclast did it again.”

Church’s October 2024 release, “Darkest Hour,” saw the superstar signing over all of his publishing royalties to the people of North Carolina to provide immediate relief following the devastation of Hurricane Helene while also providing ongoing funds to support a more resilient future for his home state. The song is featured alongside current single “Hands Of Time” on his latest album, Evangeline vs. The Machine, marking his first new music since 2021’s Heart & Soul triple album (“Stick That In Your Country Song,” “Hell Of A View”). That project followed prior releases including RIAA Gold-certified Desperate Man (“Some Of It,” “Desperate Man”), Platinum-certified Sinners Like Me (“How ’Bout You,” “Guys Like Me”), Carolina (“Smoke a Little Smoke,” “Love Your Love the Most”) and Mr. Misunderstood (“Record Year,” “Round Here Buzz”), Double-Platinum certified The Outsiders (“Like a Wrecking Ball,” “Talladega”) and 4x Platinum-certified Chief (“Springsteen,” “Drink In My Hand”), as well as 32 Gold, Platinum and multi-Platinum certified songs. MALEFIC Unleash Debut Album Impermanence Today via Terminus Hate City; Premiere Video for “In Darkest Dreams (The Reaping)”

Atlanta blackened thrash visionaries MALEFIC have officially released their long-awaited debut full-length, Impermanence, out today via Terminus Hate City. Marking the culmination of a journey that began in 2018, the album stands as a testament to perseverance, creative defiance, and an unrelenting devotion to extreme metal in all its forms.

In conjunction with the album’s release, MALEFIC have unveiled a new music video for “In Darkest Dreams (The Reaping),” a harrowing visual companion to one of the record’s most dynamic tracks. The video plunges viewers into a nightmarish landscape where fantasy and mortality collide, echoing the song’s tale of a deathly reaper figure stalking the shadows of the subconscious.

Blending black, death, and thrash metal into a volatile and cohesive statement, Impermanence explores themes of political decay, addiction, existential dread, perseverance, and the irreversible consequences of human choices. The album refuses to be confined by genre boundaries, drawing from progressive rock structures, melodic black metal atmospheres, and punishing death metal intensity.

The record erupts with opener “Blood Of The Throne,” a blistering assault of precision riffing, furious drumming, and venomous vocals that confronts oppressive economic systems head-on. “In Darkest Dreams (The Reaping)” follows with a progressive-leaning structure and one of the album’s rare defined choruses, merging death metal brutality with blackened thrash undertones. The album can be ordered HERE

“Of Gods And Man” shifts into melodic black metal territory, weaving intricate picking patterns and dueling solos beneath vocalist Aaron Baumoel’s existential reflections on greed and humanity’s relationship with a creator. The dynamic “Idiocracy” introduces a black-n-roll swagger, pairing memorable triplet riffs with sharp social commentary.

“Deserter” reintroduces crushing death metal grooves and call-and-response harsh vocals that channel themes of abandonment and despair. “Disembodiment” offers a haunting acoustic opening before ascending into the album’s emotional apex, confronting narcissism and manipulation with both musical beauty and lyrical darkness.

The sprawling centerpiece “Obsidian Earth” serves as Impermanence’s magnum opus: grandiose, melodic, and unrelentingly aggressive, culminating in a searing solo by Jason Davila while lamenting humanity’s self-inflicted extinction. “Echoes Of Silence” ventures further into progressive territory, chronicling addiction’s dual nature through chaotic black metal passages and cathartic melodic release.

Closing track “It Haunts” descends into a blackened abyss of charging riffs and spectral acoustics, sealing the album with an ominous sense of supernatural finality.

Forged through years of personal and professional trials, the album captures MALEFIC at their most focused and fearless, delivering a work that is as intellectually provocative as it is sonically devastating.

About MALEFIC:
MALEFIC roared onto the Atlanta metal scene in 2007 with ambitions to modernize the black metal genre. With their tight riffs, tasty leads, and relatable lyricism, MALEFIC abandons cliches and defies traditional genre boundaries. Their special blend of black metal, drawing from thrash and death metal influences, appeals to metalheads across subgenres. They count OLD MAN'S CHILD, CARCASS, TESTAMENT, DISSECTION, and OPETH among their most prominent influences, offering a fresh, modern take on metal that is unrivaled in the United States.

Though they are set to release their very first full-length album, Impermanence, in 2025, MALEFIC boasts an impressive live performance history, having played shows with notable bands such as 1349, CRYPTA, and PROFANATICA. After a hiatus in 2009, the band eagerly picked back up where they left off and reformed with a new lineup. MALEFIC initially began work on Impermanence in 2018, taking their time to ensure that every detail accurately reflected their vision for their album. The band's hard work and dedication has culminated in a powerful debut, lovingly crafted by fans of nuanced, boundary-pushing music.

MALEFIC lineup:
Jason Davila - Guitar
Aaron Baumoel - Drums, Vocals
Sam Williams - Guitar
Andy McGraw - Bass

TX2 Drops New Single "Murder Scene" Featuring Magnolia Park

LA-based alt-rock artist TX2 has today released his debut album End Of Us via Hopeless Records. The 13-track album features collaborations with Black Veil Brides, Magnolia Park, Ice Nine Kills, DeathbyRomy, and Ekoh, and arrives after a decade of building one of heavy music's most polarizing and devoted fanbases. Today’s release is highlighted by focus track, "Die Alone" which captures the album's emotional core. Fans can listen to the full album HERE

Speaking on today’s highly anticipated release,TX2 frontman, Evan Thomas shares

“After 11 years of building toward this moment, the band and I are excited to unveil our debut album, ‘End of Us’, structured as a rock opera. Each single leading up to this release has told a story painting the larger album theme of, ‘The Resistance’, the final survivors in a world devastated by a vampire holocaust. I hope the story we’ve told through our debut album reminds the X Movement and those all around us that they cannot erase us.”

End Of Us marks a turning point for an artist who did what most won't: weaponized being the internet's punching bag and turned online hate into undeniable momentum. With 1 million monthly Spotify listeners, 1.3 million TikTok followers, and 100 million streams on previously released singles before the album even dropped, TX2 turned algorithmic outrage into a self-sustaining business outside traditional development models.

The album collects previously released singles including "The End of Us" featuring Black Veil Brides, "Murder Scene" featuring Magnolia Park, "HOSTAGE (they will not erase us)," "The Rain," "Feed" featuring DeathbyRomy, and "Nice Guy" featuring Ekoh, alongside new tracks that complete the album's narrative arc. Between them, the previously released songs generated 100 million streams and 42 million TikTok likes in the last 12 months alone.

TX2 has earned co-signs from Caleb Shomo, Ice Nine Kills, Black Veil Brides, Magnolia Park, and From First to Last while building the X Movement, a Discord-based mental health community with thousands of active members. As an openly queer artist, his refusal to sanitize his advocacy has made him both a target and a lifeline.

Thomas describes the album's sound as "punk meets vampire-core with an Eminem edge," drawing from influences like My Chemical Romance, Green Day, Black Veil Brides, and Linkin Park while carving out space entirely his own. He self-directed all music videos alongside guitarist Cameron Rostami with horror aesthetics inspired by Resident Evil and Silent Hill.

TX2 begins his US "End of Us" headline tour this month before heading to Australia with Rain City Drive in March, followed. He then returns to the US for a North America tour supporting Black Veil Brides before heading to Europe for a massive European festival run including Download Festival (alongside Linkin Park, Guns N' Roses, and Limp Bizkit), Rock AM Ring, Rock Im Park, Rock For People, Novarock, Graspop, Jera On Air, and Vainstream. ABOUT THE HELLACOPTERS

Less than three years after their triumphant, chart-storming comeback record, Eyes Of Oblivion, which entered on #1 in their home country, on #3 in Germany, and on #6 in Finland, Sweden's most consistently great rock outfit is back with another banger of an album called Overdriver, due out on January 31st, 2025.

In the meantime, THE HELLACOPTERS have celebrated their triumphant return by playing a show with the mighty Iron Maiden in Gothenburg in July 2022, and gigs with Ghost in Germany in June 2023, apart from their own string of headline shows throughout Europe. Eager to keep the rock flowing, February 16th, 2024 saw THE HELLACOPTERS release not one, but two stunning versions of their classic Grande Rock album, which was originally released in 1999. Grande Rock Revisited included a remastered original version and a remixed and partially re-recorded version as a companion piece, showing how the album could have sounded in a parallel universe with guitarist Dregen being in the band at the time. After making rock grande again, the group set sights on new material, debuting the phenomenal single 'Stay With You'  in May 2024 and releasing it as limited 7inch via Lightning Records.

Their ninth full-length Overdriver was recorded at Strawberry Studio & The Honk Palace and is the first HELLACOPTERS album entirely produced by Nicke Andersson. As you might expect from a HELLACOPTERS album it's filled to the brim with roaring guitars and earth-shattering grooves, fist-raising energy and anthemic choruses, while keeping the variety richer than ever before. Overdriver was hailed by many as a career highlight and it was a huge success, entering the Swedish charts on #1 and the German charts on #6 upon release.

It’s a powerful meeting of voices that elevates the song into true modern power metal territory.

"I am honored to feature on INDUCTION’s new album, especially on this song 'Strangers to Love' that carries a very nostalgic yet energetic vibe," the VISIONS OF ATLANTIS singer says. "I feel like I’m back in the vibrant eighties, singing about a love that is as impossible as it is to travel back in time… I had a lot of fun interpreting this song alongside the great Gabriele Gozzi!”

Watch the video clip premiering below:

INDUCTION guitarist Tim Kanoa Hansen comments on the collaboration: "The second that I had the demo of ‘Strangers To Love’ done, I knew it needed a second voice. With Clémentine from VISIONS OF ATLANTIS, we found the perfect match to bring the story to life. Clémi and Gabri complement each other beautifully! ‘Strangers To Love’ is probably the closest thing to a ballad that you will find on Love Kills!, and it's also probably one of my personal favorite hits. I believe everyone will somehow relate to this song, because it captures the essence of human experience at its core, and fits perfectly to the album's message: Love Kills…but it's never gonna die.”

But the connection between INDUCTION and VISIONS OF ATLANTIS doesn’t stop at the studio. Love Kills! marks the beginning of a new era for INDUCTION, defined by musical evolution, emotional depth, and a fearless drive to push the boundaries of modern power metal.

For me, this album carries a lot of raw and personal emotion", Tim recently said. "Life always moved forward, and even in the darkest times, love always found its way back. Out Today! - AGENBITE MISERY - Remorse of Conscience

AGENBITE MISERY is a New Hampshire-based trio whose debut album Remorse of Conscience is one of the most ambitious concept records to emerge from the modern extreme metal underground. Formed in late 2022 by guitarist Sam Graff, bassist Cam Netland, and drummer Adam Richards, the band began with a deceptively simple idea: to adapt James Joyce’s Ulysses into an experimental metal album. What emerged from that idea is a 55-minute odyssey of layered sonic aggression and literary depth, an album that blends blackened sludge, dissonant death metal, post-punk, ambient drone, and more into a singular, genre-defying statement of purpose.

The name AGENBITE MISERY is itself a reflection of the band’s literary roots, pulled from a line in Ulysses that references the 14th-century English devotional text Agenbite of Inwit. The phrase, literally “again-bite of inner wit,” or modernized as “remorse of conscience," became the perfect thematic and philosophical framework for an album steeped in grief, alienation, and the search for meaning in modern life. The band’s name was chosen because it reflects the deep, biting sorrow that pervades the novel and their music. Though the original pronunciation might have been “ah-jehn-bite,” the band opts for a harder, contemporary “ae-ghen-bite” as a nod to their mission of dragging ancient texts into the present.

Remorse of Conscience was written over the course of 2023 and recorded in 2024, entirely self-produced by the band, with mixing by Eric Sauter and mastering by Brad Boatright. The recording sessions were a direct extension of the trio’s collaborative ethos: a commitment to honesty, maximalism, and transformation. Each of the album’s eight songs adapts a chapter from Ulysses, using lyrics pulled directly from Joyce’s prose and reshaping them into brutal, beautiful sonic forms. The band sees each track not merely as a song but as a new translation, an attempt to convert stream-of-consciousness literature into aural energy.

The album opens with "Telemachean Echoes," a short, grinding burst of power violence and hardcore chaos that adapts the novel’s opening scene: Stephen Daedalus waking from a bitter dream of guilt and loss. The lyrics, shouted and whispered, move from internal shame to furious defiance: “Hyperborean scrotum tightening mother killer” to the repeated cry of “Let me be and let me live, Agenbite of Inwit.” It’s a blistering introduction to the world AGENBITE MISERY has constructed.

From there, the album spirals into "Cascara Sagrada," a disorienting piece of blackened death metal that explores the quiet horror of Leopold Bloom’s morning routine. Built on warped time signatures, sliding guitars, and sections that move from Slint-inspired indie to full-blown noise assault, the song captures the mundane terror at the heart of Bloom’s lonely life. Lyrics range from meditations on defecation to biblical hallucinations: “Captivity to captivity, multiplying dying being born everywhere, the grey sunken cunt of the world.”

The centerpiece of the album’s first half is the 13-minute "A Charitable View of Temporary Insanity," a devastating doom-sludge epic based on Bloom’s experience at a funeral. Lurching between minimal ambient textures and towering funeral doom riffs, the song reflects on loss, failure, and the strange bureaucracy of death. The vocals echo with grief: “If little Rudy lived, if I had seen him grown, my son, me and his eyes,” while the final line offers a glimmer of hope: “The blood sinking in gives earth new life.”

At the edge of genre, "Whatness of Allhorse" reimagines post-punk and industrial through a metal lens. With deadpan vocals, massive drum machines, horror-synth textures, and a blackgaze-style climax, the track adapts a scene where Stephen Daedalus debates Shakespearean theory with literary elites. The chaotic freedom of that conversation translates into a song full of bold choices and layered absurdity. “He left her, and gained the world of man,” we hear before the song explodes into shimmering tremolo guitars and a final scream: “But I’ll survive.”

"Bellwether and Swine" brings the record back to pure metal, a pummeling, riff-driven anthem inspired by Bloom’s argument with a xenophobic Irish nationalist. The song weaponizes the tropes of epic metal to mock toxic patriotism, stacking sludgy power chords over blast beats, while spoken word passages echo Old Testament imagery. The narrator’s bile is palpable: “Begob, he got as far as the door. Begob, always some bloody clown or other.”

With "Circe," the band returns to black metal, this time with a psychedelic bent. The chapter in Ulysses this track adapts is a hallucinatory descent into Dublin’s red-light district. The song mimics this spiral with hypnotic guitar lines, overlapping time signatures, and an atmosphere of dread. At the climax, we’re given one of the novel’s most haunting images: “A white lambkin peeps out of his waistcoat pocket.” It’s a fever dream of guilt and memory.

"The Twice-Charred Paths of Musing Disciples" offers a brief, contemplative interlude. Inspired by the penultimate chapter of Ulysses, the piece uses dungeon synth textures and ambient layering to conjure the quiet moment when Bloom invites Stephen to stay the night, and is turned down. The central melodic motif is taken from actual sheet music printed in the text, adapted into a modern drone setting.

The record closes with the monolithic "Mnesterophonia," a sprawling, droning epic that mirrors the novel’s final chapter, told from Molly Bloom’s perspective. Drawing on indie rock, doom, and freeform noise, the track builds from intimate to immense. The lyrics pull from Molly’s internal monologue as she drifts into sleep: “When I put the rose in my hair and how he kissed me and I thought well as well him as another…” The final lines of both book and album, “Yes, I will, Yes”, are screamed over a wall of sound, sealing the record with one of the most powerful emotional moments in modernist literature.

Though Remorse of Conscience is steeped in literary references, its emotional core is universal. At every turn, AGENBITE MISERY seeks to translate not just words but the raw human experience: grief, desire, disconnection, hope. In doing so, they’ve created something greater than a concept album, it’s a reinvention of what metal can do.

There is no other band like AGENBITE MISERY, and no album like Remorse of Conscience. This is a project that refuses to compromise, refuses to simplify, and refuses to be easily categorized. Instead, it dares to ask the same question Ulysses once did: can we still find truth, beauty, or meaning in the wreckage of the modern world? And their answer, it seems, is a resounding Yes. Yes, we will. Yes.

Out Today - INDUCTION - Love Kills!

Power metal upstarts INDUCTION aim to astonish and amaze with their highly-anticipated third album, Love Kills!. Catchy melodies and upbeat riffs dominate the soundscape, capturing the band’s energy as a relentless force to be reckoned with in the modern metal world. Though eclectic and refreshing, Love Kills! remains underpinned by a lingering sense of nostalgia for the power metal legends who inspired INDUCTION. The band pays homage to their roots while introducing less traditional elements and building a new, intriguing sound. The result is an album that is sure to please longstanding fans, while also exciting newcomers and proving that power metal is here to stay for years to come.

Love Kills! kicks off with the emotional “Virtual Insanity”, where blasts of synth notes meet melodic riffing and shredding guitar leads. The narrator longs to escape from a world to which they no longer belong, and to be free from the obsessions and desires imposed on them by others. Electronic effects on the vocals leave no doubt that the band is aspiring toward a more modern aesthetic.

“War Of Hearts” keeps the barrage of sweeping lead guitars and chugging riffs coming. Furious drumming lays the foundation for the desperation that the song conveys. A passionate vocal delivery and subtler keyboard notes betray the melancholy that lurks beneath energetic, fast-paced beats. The lyrics speak of uncertainty, regret, and fear of the future, while remaining determined to forge onward in spite of it all.

The synth-dominated “Dark Temptation” marks a dramatic twist in the album’s trajectory. In a surge of catharsis, the vicious thrill of forbidden love replaces the melancholy and yearning of the previous tracks. The narrator declares their love for a “mistress of the night”, igniting a renewed spark of passion that had once threatened to fizzle out. Instrumentally, the song trades complexity for impact, with melodies certain to be remembered long after the story ends.

The album takes an ominous turn on “Steel And Thunder”. Heavy, hard-charging riffs and lightning-fast leads intertwine with cinematic synths as a ferocious battle rages. The song sheds a new light on classic power metal themes, with imagery of a vengeful narrator taking back their destiny in the face of a seemingly-unstoppable, inhuman enemy. The bridge offers a short lull amid the chaos, but the energy quickly picks up again, carrying on with unrelenting force until the final note.

“Strangers To Love” introduces bass-heavy electronic elements and melodic female vocals. Though the riffs remain prominent, the song leans more heavily on melody and cinematic atmospheres, contrasting noticeably with the previous tracks. The band proudly shows off their versatility and emotional depth with a sound that bridges modernity and nostalgia.

“Beyond Horizons” opens with triumphant guitars and Latin-language gang vocals that recall the classic, energetic power metal sound that inspired INDUCTION. The synths are relegated to the background, in favor of shredding solos and powerfully-layered vocals. A higher key change in the final chorus lends one last dramatic flair, as the narrator proclaims the fulfillment of a destiny.

“Gods Of Steel” brings the bass back to the forefront, accompanied by crushingly heavy riffs and dramatic synths. Ominous vocals dominate the verses, warning of an impending conflict. The drama comes to a head in the chorus, as the narrator urges their companions to take their fates into their own hands “with an iron will”.

Mixed feelings about a relationship arise on the title track, “Love Kills!”. The narrator laments the failure of their romance while acknowledging the enduring, complicated nature of love. Like others before it, “Love Kills!” is deceptively upbeat, presenting a serious undertone beneath the polish and glamor of the music.

“I Am Evil” is a straightforward, shredding rocker that relies on heavy riffs and keyboards in equal measure. The softer moments never last long, inevitably exploding into brash, catchy melodies or guitar solos.

“The Veil Of Affection” leans heavily on cinematic drama, with sweeping synths and melodic guitar work. The riffs chug along, while symphonic atmospheres soar above. The narrator longs to open his heart, but fears losing himself in his emotions, and closes himself off to the world.

The final track, “Empress”, tells a contemplative tale about following one’s heart. Softer verses are neatly balanced with energetic choruses. Gritty, soaring vocals and melodic guitar solos carry the bulk of the emotion, taking the listener on a journey through the narrator’s inner conflict.

HÉR are seekers and storytellers. Their debut album, Monochrome, reflects polar extremes: fire and ice, violence and tenderness, bravery and care, the brutality of war and the solace that’s brought by peace.

The Polish collective are celebrating the release of Monochrome with a new video for the album’s third single. Slinking and pulsating, “Going Down” enters into a trance where descent isn’t a collapse but a passage toward resolve.

“This song is a hymn to strength, perseverance and unyielding will”, HÉR says.

By exploring the human nature described in Norse mythology, the musicians make a deep insight into the emotions embedded in its verses. They bring out the dark beauty of the North and its extremes: fire and ice, violence and tenderness, bravery and care, the brutality of war and the solace that peace brings, struggle and feast, the milky sweetness of honey and the salty tang of blood, love and hatred, birth and death, beginning and end, terror and awe…

Out Now From Red Sands

Mexico City’s RED SANDS return with Evocations, a six-track release that captures more than a decade of evolution in a single statement. Formed in 2012 and reassembled in 2022, the group of Jonathan Corral, Daniel Novelo, Eric Novelo, Juan Carlos León, and Ángel Asiain has built a sound rooted in melody, structure, and emotion. Their music blends the strength of classic heavy metal with the depth of symphonic and gothic traditions, giving rise to what they call melodic metal.

The artwork for Evocations, designed by vocalist and visual artist Jona Corral, mirrors the album’s theme. It depicts a creature made from fragments of memory, a symbol of time, loss, and unfinished creation. The image and the music share the same language of impermanence.

Evocations is not a debut in the conventional sense but a culmination. It gathers songs written across different eras and unites them under one idea: that death and remembrance shape art more profoundly than survival alone. In its layers of melody, rhythm, and emotion, RED SANDS find a balance between past and present, creating music that listens as much as it speaks.

RED SANDS is:

  • Jonathan “Jona” Corral – Vocals

  • Daniel Novelo – Rhythm & Lead Guitar

  • Eric Novelo – Bass

  • Juan Carlos “CJ” León – Piano & Keyboards

  • Ángel Asiain – Drums

JENNA PAULETTE RELEASES HORSEBACK (DELUXE)

Leo33 rising singer/songwriter Jenna Paulette arrives today with her 20-track Horseback (Deluxe) album, featuring three previously unreleased songs, including a duet rendition of “The Dirt” with John Morgan. Additionally, “The Dirt” will be featured on SiriusXM’s Highway On The Horizon beginning today. Listen to it and the full Horseback (Deluxe) album Below

Produced by Will Bundy, Horseback (Deluxe) expands on the original Horseback album, released in 2024, adding depth with a glimpse into Paulette’s live show with covers of Tim McGraw’s “Cowboy In Me” and Tanya Tucker’s “Texas (When I Die),” recorded live.

“I’m excited to release the deluxe version of Horseback featuring new versions of songs on the original record — some turning into duet versions with artists and friends I admire so much, as well as a few live versions of songs I love to cover,” shares Paulette. “The album originally came out just two weeks before my daughter was born, and so much life has happened since then. Revisiting these songs now makes this chapter even more meaningful.

“One of those duets is with my dear friend John Morgan,” she adds. “I met him through our friend Jeb Gipson and before we both had record deals, he played a little guitar for me. He’s always been one of the best pickers and singers in town. Our version of ‘The Dirt’ feels complete with him on it.”

Horseback (Deluxe) contains all 13 tracks off the original album, which was released in 2024 and has already amassed 26 million streams to date. Starting with “Wild Is Her Favorite Color,” celebrating the freedom that comes with living authentically, before delving into “3 Kings,” a tip of her hat to the three kings that have influenced her lifestyle, “King George, King Ranch, King James.”

The album intertwines upbeat tracks, including previously released “Outside” and “Run The Damn Ball,” harkening back to the values of grit and hard work that Paulette has come to embody, and empowering “Darlin’,” which signals the redemption of love lost and found again. Additionally, “Steady,” which honors strength in consistency and showing up, is resonating with fans as the song breaks into the top 15 at Texas radio.

In addition to “The Dirt” with John Morgan, Paulette also finds a new spin on tracks in her duets with longtime friends and collaborators on “Chasin’ Whiskey” and “The Prophet (Grandaddy’s Song);” featuring Jake Worthington and Ashley McBryde, respectively.

And, after learning the ropes of navigating a career and newfound motherhood in 2025, Paulette recently jumped Back In The Saddle with a 26-date tour in 2026, with more shows to come.

While Paulette took a step back from touring in 2025, her business endeavors continued to expand with the launch of her Sunrise and Sunset Boots collection with Justin Boots, as well as a new Fall collection of her women’s rangewear line with Ely Cattleman, CowboyGirl.
