MAD MAX Celebrate “Stories Of Destiny” Record Release With Brand-New “Dulces Falsos” Music Video

German hard rock titans MAD MAX celebrate the record release of “Stories Of Destiny” with a brand-new music video for “Dulces Falsos.” The song marks a special first in the band’s history: it is the first MAD MAX track ever recorded with Spanish lyrics and presents their classic “Piece Of Candy” in a powerful new version.

With “Dulces Falsos,” MAD MAX pay tribute to their loyal fanbase in Latin America. New lyrics by Andreas Baesler and the Spanish vocals give the song a fresh character while preserving the energy and spirit of the original.

Band mastermind Jürgen Breforth comments:
"Dulces Falsos" is the first song we ever recorded with Spanish lyrics. With this version of our classic "Piece Of Candy" we would like to say a very special thank you to all our fans in Latin America who have always stayed loyal to us and who have helped make the Mad Max comic a great success, especially in Colombia and Mexico.

Andreas Baesler has written a new and very up-to-date set of lyrics. The Spanish vocals give the song even more power, presence and raw energy. Many journalists see in "Dulces Falsos" an attitude and charisma reminiscent of bands such as HEROES DEL SILENCIO for example. That makes us very proud."

Watch the new video clip Below:

Stories Of Destiny finds MAD MAX celebrating 45 years of history while continuing to push forward with new material. Packed with powerful guitar-driven anthems, memorable melodies and timeless hard rock spirit, it combines newly recorded material, long-awaited hidden gems and collaborations with some of the most respected names in the rock and metal world. The album also introduces UK vocalist Alan Clark while welcoming original MAD MAX singer Andreas Baesler as a special guest for his first MAD MAX appearance in 45 years, creating a direct link between the band's earliest days and its present.

Founded in Münster, Germany in 1981 by guitarist, songwriter and bandleader Jürgen Breforth, MAD MAX have remained one of Europe's most enduring melodic hard rock and heavy metal acts for more than four decades. Renowned for their unmistakable guitar-driven sound, strong melodies and classic hard rock attitude, the band have built a loyal international following through countless albums, tours and festival appearances.

Reflecting on an extraordinary career while embracing the future, Stories Of Destiny is built around songs Breforth had the honor to co-write with acclaimed musicians including Sascha Gerstner (Helloween), David Readman (Pink Cream 69), Andreas Broon (The Sisters Of Mercy) and Michael Voss, known from his work with Michael Schenker. Reimagined and newly recorded in unmistakable MAD MAX fashion, the album captures both the band's musical roots and their continued evolution.

The visual world of Stories Of Destiny connects to the MAD MAX comic, created by Mexican comic artist Maestro Arturo Said. The comic tells the story of the band from its founding days in 1981 through the 1980s and up to MAD MAX’s first shows in Colombia in 2023, making the album both a musical and visual celebration of the band’s legacy.

ALBUM RELEASE: Zahna Releases New Album 'Break or Breakthrough'

Mexican-born heavy rock artist Zahna has released her new album, Break or Breakthrough, out now via XOVR Records, the label founded by Brian “Head” Welch of Korn. The ten-track record is Zahna’s third full-length studio album and her first full album release through XOVR. Listen to Break or Breakthrough HERE and watch an album sampler Below.

Produced and mixed by Kellen McGregor of Memphis May Fire, with co-writing and associate production from Cory Brunnemann of Through Arteries and mastering by Ted Jensen of Sterling Sound, Break or Breakthrough is the record that comes after survival.

Where Zahna's 2023 album Stronger Than Death was shaped by her near-terminal battle with kidney failure and subsequent transplant, Break or Breakthrough begins in the aftermath. The years that followed brought pandemic isolation, medical bills and financial pressure, lost momentum, family grief, betrayal, damaged relationships and faith pushed hard against its limits. Across the album, Zahna turns that fallout into ten tracks of hard rock force, metalcore intensity, dark pop atmosphere and ferocious vocal power, moving through rage and forgiveness, destruction and deliverance, grief and love, and the brutal work of rebuilding a life once the immediate fight to survive is over.

Sharing his thoughts on Zahna's album release, Brian 'Head' Welch says

"We are so happy for Zahna as she finally releases Break or Breakthrough to the world! This isn’t just another album title. Zahna and her team literally lived through it.

While facing so many obstacles, heartbreaks, and difficult moments while putting this album together, Zahna had every reason to break to pieces and give up. Instead, she chose to push through the pain and turn it into something powerful.

I have so much respect for Zahna and crew, and I can’t wait for the world to hear this amazing work of art!"

Speaking on the her journey creating Break or Breakthrough, Zahna shares:

“Two years of work, thousands of lessons, and one great adventure culminated into this moment. 'Break or Breakthrough' will always be the stone in the slingshot. I can’t wait to see the ceilings it will shatter, and the walls it will bring down.”

The album’s emotional and spiritual extremes have been revealed piece by piece throughout its release campaign. “Defiler”, featuring Brian “Head” Welch of Korn, introduced one of its darkest confrontations with spiritual corruption. “The Archer” arrived as a battle cry for truth, justice and the reckoning that follows when evil can no longer hide. On title track “Break or Breakthrough”, the fight turned inward as Zahna explored a damaged relationship finding its way back through vulnerability, humility, grace and forgiveness.

Most recently, “Love & Loss” pulled the record into its rawest territory. Written following the sudden death of Zahna’s father-in-law, a major musical mentor to both Zahna her husband and drummer Patrick Madsen, the song sits inside the disorientation of grief and the questions that surface when loss shakes the foundations of everything you believe.

Patrick Madsen plays drums throughout Break or Breakthrough, making the record an intensely personal collaboration as well as a musical one. Together with Kellen McGregor and Cory Brunnemann, Zahna built an album where its considerable weight never comes at the expense of melody, detail or emotional precision.

Defiler” has also carried Zahna’s momentum deep into active rock, earning support across SiriusXM Octane, Music Choice, HardDrive Radio and stations across the country. The track remained on the active rock chart for over a month and reached the Top 20 on SiriusXM Octane.

With more than 20 million streams already to her name, Break or Breakthrough arrives at the point where Zahna’s intensely personal world is connecting with an increasingly broad heavy music audience.

ABOUT ZAHNA

Zahna is a heavy rock artist, vocalist, guitarist, songwriter and vocal coach whose music combines hard-hitting rock, metalcore intensity, dark pop atmosphere and deeply personal storytelling. First emerging as the vocalist of alt-rock band ILIA, she launched her solo career with Red For War and later released 2023’s Stronger Than Death, an album shaped by her experience surviving a near-terminal battle with kidney failure.

Her new album, Break or Breakthrough, will be released September 4 via XOVR Records, the label founded by Brian “Head” Welch of Korn. Produced and mixed by Kellen McGregor of Memphis May Fire, with co-writing and associate production from Cory Brunnemann of Through Arteries, the album explores spiritual warfare, endurance, freedom and the possibility of life after crisis.

Zahna has amassed over 20 million streams and continues to build growing support across SiriusXM Octane, Music Choice, HardDrive Radio and active rock radio. Beyond music, she is a vocal coach, a passionate advocate for those living with chronic illness, and an artist whose work pulls from faith, anime, literature, gaming and visual storytelling. Across every chapter,Zahna’s mission remains clear: to create songs with substance, honesty and enough fire to help people keep going.

FRAXURES UNLEASH HEXES — NEW IMMERSIVE ALBUM ARRIVES SEPTEMBER 4th VIA CLEOPATRA RECORDS

Southern California metal force FRAXURES unleash their highly anticipated new album, Hexes, September 4th via Cleopatra Records, accompanied by the release of the official video for the album’s title track, “Hexes.”

A dark, heavy and deeply conceptual record, Hexes takes FRAXURES into ambitious new territory. Built around a singular premise, each song explores the forces that bind, haunt, manipulate and ultimately shape the human experience.

The title track serves as the gateway into that world.

The official “Hexes” video was directed and edited by FRAXURES bassist Vinny Marvaso of Marvaso Media and incorporates fragments from the upcoming film The Behemoth, creating a cinematic visual counterpart to the album’s ominous atmosphere and central theme. The Behemoth is forthcoming through Cleopatra Venom.

The release of Hexes follows the album’s third single, “Trauma Bond,” which introduced listeners to the record’s curse-driven concept through the destructive cycle of a relationship built around shared trauma.

Frontman Travis Neal described “Trauma Bond” as being about two people who remain helplessly connected despite the toxicity between them — trapped in a constant push and pull until the bond can finally be broken and freedom found outside the chaos.

That was only the beginning.

Across Hexes, FRAXURES expands the concept into a collection of individual stories, with each track examining its own form of darkness, while the album as a whole creates a larger narrative of entanglement, consequence, struggle and release.

Formed in 2020 in southern California, Fraxures line up as: Travis Neal (vocals), Fred Aching (drums), Vinny Marvaso (bass), Nolan Davis (guitar, vocals) and Esty Sanchez (guitar) - seasoned musicians from renowned acts such as William Shatner Band, Deadgroove, Kings Of Thrash, Divine Heresy, Powerflo, BillyBio, The Bloodline, and A Hero Within.  The members’ shared passion for creating earth-shattering music saw FRΛXURES emerge as a force to be reckoned with, blending the raw energy of metal with a modern edge.

Born during the uncertainty of the pandemic, FRAXURES quickly developed into a formidable heavy music entity, combining the visceral impact of metal with melody, atmosphere and a distinctly modern edge. The members’ collective musical history is unmistakable, but rather than relying on the past, FRAXURES have used those foundations to establish an identity entirely their own.

That evolution has been reinforced onstage, where the band has performed alongside artists including Fear Factory, Snot, Taproot, Orbit Culture, Of Mice & Men and Unearth.

FRAXURES made their recorded debut with the critically acclaimed Firewater Sessions EP, produced by Billy Graziadei of Biohazard. Its combination of crushing riffs, expansive melodies and thought-provoking lyrics laid the groundwork for the band’s next chapter and ultimately led to FRAXURES joining the Cleopatra Records family.

The band subsequently released “Blackheart Serenade” and its interpretation of Depeche Mode’s “It’s No Good,” which broke onto Billboard’s Mainstream Rock chart.

Now, with Hexes, FRAXURES deliver the record toward which that momentum has been building.

For listeners who want to venture deeper into the album’s concept, the physical editions provide another layer to the experience, with the band inviting fans to “grab the vinyl or deluxe CD to explore the deeper meaning of each track.”

Hexes arrives worldwide September 4, 2026 via Cleopatra Records.

LANIE GARDNER RELEASES FADED POLAROIDS (DELUXE) VIA BBR MUSIC GROUP/BMG NASHVILLE

Lanie Gardner releases Faded Polaroids (Deluxe) today via BBR Music Group/BMG Nashville, adding three new songs to the collection she released in 2025. Featuring “You Ain't My Daddy,” “Bye Bye,” and “Say It Sober,” the 21-track project brings resolution to a deeply personal chapter for Gardner while offering a glimpse at the woman and artist she's becoming. Listen to Faded Polaroids (Deluxe) below.

For Gardner, Faded Polaroids was always about more than a collection of songs. The album captured the lessons, heartbreaks and growing pains of her early twenties, but she felt the story needed one final chapter before she could move forward. The three new songs offer that resolution, reflecting the perspective Gardner gained after living through the experiences that shaped the original album.

“This project captures the lessons, heartbreaks, and growing pains of my early twenties while reflecting my desire to keep pushing the boundaries of country music,” Lanie shared. “Faded Polaroids (Deluxe) reveals, specifically, more of the woman I've become after living through those experiences and carrying the wisdom they left behind.”

The three new songs were written and recorded with Kristian Bush, who Gardner credits with helping bring her vision to life while allowing her to remain at the center of the creative process. Working without phones, distractions or outside comparisons, the pair and their team focused on building a world around the songs that felt entirely their own. The result is a collection that continues Gardner's genre-blurring approach while giving her room to explore a more evolved perspective.

At the center of the new collection is “Say It Sober,” which offers a more reflective side of Gardner following the unapologetic energy of “You Ain't My Daddy.” The track serves as another piece of the story Gardner wanted to finish telling before turning the page on the Faded Polaroids era.

Earlier this summer, Gardner gave fans the opportunity to choose which of the three new songs they wanted to hear first, with “You Ain't My Daddy” ultimately earning the most votes. The response reinforced the connection Gardner has built with an audience that sees itself in her honesty and independence. As she puts it, “The girls aren't taking the backseat anymore!” The song's message of supporting women rather than controlling them resonated not only with her female fans, but with listeners who connected to the idea.

Now, as Gardner brings Faded Polaroids to the road, the deluxe edition marks both an ending and a beginning. She recently wrapped select dates with Jordan Davis, continues Luke Bryan's “Word On The Street Tour”into the fall before joining Ty Myers. With the final chapter of Faded Polaroids now complete, Gardner is carrying its lessons forward while leaving behind the parts of herself that no longer fit.

ABOUT LANIE GARDNER:
Hailing from the Appalachian Mountains of North Carolina, Lanie Gardner has quickly established herself as one of country music’s most distinctive new voices, blending the storytelling heart of country with the grit of rock, the soul of blues and the hooks of pop. She first captured global attention with her viral cover of Fleetwood Mac’s “Dreams,” which has amassed more than 100 million views and helped launch her career. Since then, she has been named a 2025 Artist to Watch by the Recording Academy and Amazon Music, an Apple Music Riser of the Month, a member of CMT’s Next Women of Country: Class of 2025 and a SiriusXM Highway Find. Gardner made her Grand Ole Opry debut in 2025 and has performed everywhere from Stagecoach to TODAY, while sharing the stage with artists including Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean, Jelly Roll, Ty Myers, the Jonas Brothers, Cody Johnson and ZZ Ward. Her songwriting has also led to collaborations with Thomas Rhett, Warren Zeiders and Dorothy, with “What Could Go Right” reaching No. 1 on SiriusXM’s The Highway. Released in 2025, Faded Polaroids introduced listeners to Gardner’s most personal collection of songs to date. Now, Faded Polaroids (Deluxe) expands that story with three new tracks, continuing to explore the experiences and emotions that have shaped Gardner both personally and creatively.

Victoriana Infused Electronic Metal Duo CODEX LOVELACE Release Album 'Galvanized Heart' With Video For "The Corps"

CODEX LOVELACE present the debut full-length Galvanized Heart. With a shared love of Victoriana, history, and a bit of cyber punk, CODEX LOVELACE, led by Joan Avant and Holly Royle (DISCONNECTED SOULS), fuses dark EDM with metal. The album release arrives alongside a new video for "The Corps".

"The Corps" lifts the curtain on the darker side of entertainment. This song is about Les Petits Rats (little rats) who were corps ballet dancers in the nineteenth century and they were expected to prostitute themselves to certain patrons of the ballet. These are the girls in the shadows in Edgar Degas’ paintings being watched by lurking men.

With high energy and eerie changing moods, "The Corps" delivers rhythmic intensity across electronics and metal instruments. Seductive lyrics and enthralling moments are met with a thunderous and shadowy quality revealing the sinister aspects beneath.

About CODEX LOVELACE:
Devised from a shared love of Victoriana, fantasy and admiration for history’s ‘invisible’ women, CODEX LOVELACE is an eclectic project led by Joan Avant and Holly Royle (DISCONNECTED SOULS).

The band’s name is a direct reference to Ada Lovelace whose story, among others, is explored across the music and lyrics of their debut album, Galvanized Heart. Musically, the thunderous power of heavy metal, ethereal quality of orchestral arrangements and ambience of electronic textures become entwined across CODEX LOVELACE’s sound.

The project arose from what was initially intended to be a sole collaboration song between Texas, US, based Joan Avant and Chester, UK, based Holly Royle. Before long, the scope of their creativity grew into a full-length offering.

Produced by Joan Avant, the track list contains compositions spearheaded by both members demonstrating a wide breadth of genre and style influences from EDM to djent guitars. At the core, CODEX LOVELACE is designed to combine catchy simplicity, dance quality with intriguing textural layers, emotive soundscapes and stories of lives often overlooked. The debut album Galvanized Heart is scheduled to arrive on September 4th, 2026.

CODEX LOVELACE is:
Joan Avant: multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, composer & lyricist, producer.
Holly Royle: multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, composer & lyricist.

ABOUT 156/SILENCE

156/Silence makes intense, foreboding, and haunting music. Their songs are cinematic, blending brutality with intellect. They draw on real and imagined terror, all woven into melody and power. Vocalist and lyricist Jack Murray, guitarist and primary songwriter Jimmy Howell, guitarist Ryan Wilkinson, drummer Kyle O’Connell, and bassist Mike Ernst form a formidable unit, forged through shared passions and losses since the band’s earliest incarnation first formed in Pittsburgh in 2015.

2024’s crowd pleaser, People Watching, was a watershed moment, boasting breakout anthems Better Written Villain and Character Development (Cold Start).” Distorted Sound wrote, “There is enough in the band’s repertoire to not only keep you entertained but also keep you guessing.”

From a Distance, its spiritual sequel and the band’s first album with Pure Noise Records, ups the ante with gut-wrenching depth and atmosphere. Their sixth album is dark and ponderous yet triumphantly self-assured. (It follows the devastating standalone single Our Parting Ways,” released in 2025 in loving tribute to longtime bassist Lukas Booker, who passed away unexpectedly earlier that year.)

The group’s reputation as a live force of nature was earned on the road, where they deliver audience connection and sonic devastation while touring with the likes of The Devil Wears Prada, Chiodos, Fit For A King, Counterparts, Silent Planet, and The Acacia Strain, among other contemporaries.

Produced by Josh Schroeder (King 810, Lorna Shore, The Plot In You), From a Distance finds 156/Silence heavy as hell, while leaning into atmosphere, mood, and emotional impact even harder. The group reverently namechecks classic game scores like Resident Evil and Silent Hill, and the heady concepts of prestige TV like Twin Peaks (a sample from Apple TV’s Severance opens the album).

Murray’s lyrics remain keenly observational, personal, and incisive. From a Distance serves as a bold thematic companion to its predecessor. While earlier records often documented tension at close range, From a Distance observes from a wider vantage point, examining social behavior, celebrity worship, intrusive thoughts, and interpersonal connection with steely focus.

That authenticity is crucial to the band’s ever-growing audience.

No two 156/Silence albums are alike, from the unhinged frenetic chaos of Undercover Scumbag (2018) to the gloriously savage and technical Irrational Pull (2020), which Metal Hammer likened to Converge and Botch. The diverse ruminations found in Narrative(2022) took things even further. BrooklynVegan called that album “bolder and richer” and “an exciting step forward for [the] band.”

People Watching continued the prolific outfit’s tradition of steadfast evolution and innovation. Revolver praised the dark melodic edge of the Animal Farm-inspired Better Written Villain,” declaring, “156/Silence may have just penned an instant classic of their own canon.”

As Howell points out, they’d never really tried singing choruses and hooks prior to People Watching. “It went so well that we decided to double down on that.” From a Distance also features guest appearances from some formidable vocalists: Mike Hranica of The Devil Wears Prada, Alex Reade of Make Them Suffer, and Tony Castrati of Crippling Alcoholism. It also cranks up the soundscapes.

“I look toward bands we love that grew with their listeners, like Thrice and Bring Me The Horizon,” Howell says of their continuing creative mission. “They have a sound, but they grow and change. Some bands are comfortable repeating the same thing again. I don’t want to do that. I want to make you feel the way you do when you hear one of those important bands, without sounding like them.”

Murray describes the title track as “a love song” and “probably the most Twin Peaks-inspired song.”

From a Distance cuts deeper into People Watching’s lyrical heart. Proxy Idols tackles celebrity worship. Order & Entropycontemplates maintaining focus amid the utter devastation of things falling apart. Swept from Under (Call of the Void) sees Murraywrestling with intrusive thoughts. “They tell you to hurt yourself, even when you don’t feel bad,” he says. “It’s just the ever-looming shadow of weird and intrusive thoughts, and negativity, of just being swept from under by the void.”

From straightforward hard rock to synth-heavy experimentation and all the way back to the band’s deadly mathcore roots, 156/Silencehave established themselves as unbound by any genre limitation.

“We could go anywhere now, and that’s the goal,” Howell says. “Nothing is ever off the table.”

BEHEMOTH - Unleash New Single & Video 'In League With Satan' + New Release "I, Scvlptor" Out Now!

Polish extreme metal legends, BEHEMOTH, unleash 'In League with Satan', the second single from their new studio release, I, Scvlptor, which is out today via Nuclear Blast Records (digitally) and Massacre Records (physically). The music video for 'In League with Satan' was produced by the acclaimed Polish production collective Grupa 13. The song and the video feature very special guest, Shagrath of Dimmu Borgir.

Nergal commented on the new single:

“When we were looking for a name for our tour with Dimmu Borgir, I thought it would be great to use a timeless slogan and basically quote the gods of satanic rock’n’roll — Venom and “In League with Satan” perfectly fit my vision. I honestly don’t remember what came first — the idea for the tour name or the idea of recording the song itself. What matters is that we recorded it on seven-string guitars with Shagrath from Dimmu as a guest vocalist. The song gained a massive weight and a completely new dimension. We’re planning to play it live and I think our version turned into something truly powerful.”

'I, Scvlptor', which is out today, is an exclusive release featuring eight previously unreleased songs - seven new studio recordings and one live track. It is an autonomous body of work that bridges the band's foundational past with their present creative fire. The release features brand-new studio material embodying the full force of Behemoth's live energy and intensity. Two tracks - 'Rise of the Blackstorm of Evil' (from The Return of the Northern Moon, 1992) and 'In Thy Pandemaeternum' (from Pandemonic Incantations, 1998) - are newly re-recorded versions of early Behemoth material, reshaped with modern sonics while preserving their original spirit; a tribute to the bands who had a huge influence on Behemoth - 'In League With Satan' (originally by Venom, feat. Shagrath of Dimmu Borgir) and 'The Return of Darkness and Evil' (originally by Bathory, feat. Sakis Tolis of Rotting Christ). Available on CD, LP, MC and Limited-Edition Box Set through Massacre Records worldwide and digitally via Nuclear Blast Records.

Nergal commented:
We’re fucking excited about the release of I, Scvlptor. Even though it’s not a regular studio album and is, in fact, more of a compilation, the mere fact that it contains songs nobody has ever heard before makes it a significant release for us. What’s more, some of these tracks are likely a little different from what we offered on our last album, The Shit Ov God. That’s why we see I,Scvlptor as an important record — a connecting piece, a bridge between where we are now and whatever may come next in the distant future.

AIRBOURNE’S New Self-Titled Album Out Today: A “Big, Bombastic” Blast Of Pure Aussie Thunder

AIRBOURNE’s NEW self-titled studio album, out today, September 4th, is a true rock ‘n’ roll tale of no compromise, no sleep and still no ballads (or bullshit); a story fuelled by the riveted will of four musicians, brothers Joel & Ryan O’Keeffe, ably supported by Justin Street & Brett Tyrrell, to create a body of work that proudly offers a full 21 gun salute to hard rock’s glorious traditions, its heritage and its heartbeat, whilst keeping sights firmly trained on the road ahead.

To celebrate the album's release, the band has dropped their new video for the song 'Kid in a Candy Store.'

Watch the Video For 'Kid in a Candy Store' Below:

AIRBOURNE’s sixth studio album is the one that plants the flag deepest for everything the Aussie outfit stands for, their unwavering commitment to The Great Rock ‘n’ Roll Cause, leaving everything (apart from Lemmy’s Bar, of course) on the stage on a nightly basis.

“When I look up to the sky, rub the blood and sweat from my eyes

Hell, no, I ain't dead yet, as long as I can breathe, I can get…”  ‘Gutsy’

PRODUCED BY Brian Howes (who helmed 2013’s ‘Black Dog Barking’); engineered by Mike Fraser (who worked on 2010’s ‘No Guts. No Glory’ & 2016’s ‘Breakin’ Outta Hell’); mixed by Zakk Cervini (BMTH, Architects, Evanescence); and mastered by the legendary Ted Jensen‘Airbourne’ The Album is the statement, line in the sand recording that only one band could have made.

For staunch sons of Warrnambool, Joel & Ryanhere was the moment: to create not just the finest body of work in the Airbourne canon, but to raise the bar as high as possible in the name of the hard rock community; to seek out new turf, to protect the ground hard won by heroes past, some sadly fallen, and to both strengthen and celebrate the special, sacred bond with rock fans everywhere…

“Our aim from the start was to create something iconic, gargantuan,” states vocalist / guitarist Joel, “real blockbuster shit. It’s a rocket we’ve been building and building; we’ve filled it with fuel, now we’re ready to let it go.”

“We said, this is it, let’s make the oracle,” continues drummer Ryan, “and if we’re going to do it, no corner can be cut. All of the things we love most about rock‘n’roll are on this record. I firmly believe it’s our very best work…”

In order to embrace the mighty task, AIRBOURNE felt it wise to stay close to home, with Music Farm Studio in the “jungle” outside Byron Bay, South Eastern Australia, the chosen locale; not only does Music Farm host the original Neve console from Albert Studios in Sydney, the desk on which AC/DC, Rose Tattoo and The Angels recorded their classic early albums, but it’s also home to late AC/DC guitarist / founding member Malcolm Young’s eight-track Neve, and naturally both were put to full an’ fruitful use on the

AIRBOURNE sessions.

By choosing vintage gear (and recording to tape), these sessions were never going to be gremlin free, but as things turned out, technical issues were just a part of the story, with near cyclonic storms, deadly snakes and even deadlier super sized spiders (the fabled Big Boy!) adding to the list of perils. They say what doesn’t kill (or bite) you makes you stronger, and for musicians and studio team alike the overriding vision never blurred; nights around the fire pit were spent talking about the big, bold, bombastic albums they’d skipped their homework to listen to; those layered, beautifully crafted records, the recognised classics, that had made them rock fans in the first place…

Next stop, Hothouse Studios in Melbourne; here, all recording was completed alongside engineer / studio owner, Craig Harnath. Rounding things off at Hothouse was an easy choice to make; not only was it where the band had recorded their first EP, but the console, also a Neve, is from Alberts Studio 2, allowing the connection to prime rock history to be maintained.

The challenge was there. The game on.

‘Here She Comes’, one of the two Lange / Adams co-writes, the other being ‘Who Put The Rhythm In You?’, followed in late July, which brings us on a mighty wall of Eddie Van Halen inspired feedback to album focus track, ‘Bogotá’, complete with lashings of EVH ‘Frankenstein’ action, the first time Joel had wielded the instrument!

It’s surely impossible to be a guitarist and not realise the significance of EVH, who (along with Lemmy, Doc Neeson, John Bonham, Bon Scott, Little Richard, Malcolm Young & Ozzy) gets a hand on heart namecheck on album closer, ‘Send Me To Rock‘N’Roll Heaven’, the song that most clearly defines the album’s key themes of lifestyle and legacy; of artists being kept alive in the hearts and minds of fans; of the rock ‘n’ roll torch being passed from one generation to the next, the flame still burning…

‘When you play this riff, you give me back my hands

When you drop the needle, I'm back in the band…’  ‘Alive After Death (Last Plane Out)’

‘AIRBOURNE’. Made with passion. Made in Australia. The Great Barrier Riff.

Now officially out of its cage.

California's Soft Science releases fifth album 'Sand', their most immersive record to date

Northern California quintet Soft Science returns with 'Sand', their fifth album, released via Shelflife Records in North America and Spinout Nuggets in the UK.. Building on the band’s signature mix of dream pop, post-punk, shoegaze, and darkwave, this record is both intimate and expansive - rooted in melody, atmosphere, and emotional depth.

Across these 10 songs, the band pairs shimmering textures with renewed urgency, delivering a dynamic and immersive record that is unmistakably Soft Science. 'Sand' explores the fragile, cyclical nature of love, tracing how relationships can shift beneath our feet while still offering moments of clarity, devotion, hope, and renewal.

The singles 'Spinning', 'Understand' and 'Fade' pair propulsive energy with ethereal vocals and luminous guitars, finding beauty in moments that inevitably slip away. ‘Spinning’ captures the frustration of being caught in a loop of recurring conversations and patterns. ‘Understand’ delivers a buoyant, Lush-infused burst of hope rooted in the healing passage of time. ‘Fade’ shifts into a more intimate yet expansive space, pairing a classic four-on-the-floor pulse with dreamy vocals and reflective lyrics about memory, change, and connection. Together, they showcase the creative blend of layered harmonies, cascading guitars, electronic textures, and hook-filled melodies that define the sound of 'Sand'.

Lyrically, throughout 'Sand' runs a strong sense of being stuck in cycles: spinning, circling, repeating old patterns, trying to be heard, trying to understand what went wrong. But it’s not all bleak. The album strikes chords of tenderness and resilience, as evidenced by phrases like “there is hope for us,” “we find a way,” “let in the light” and “steady as we sway” - lyrics that create a push-pull dynamic between weariness and a stubborn belief that connection and perseverance can still produce a better tomorrow.

Soft Science features Katie Haley (lead vocals, percussion), brothers Matt Levine (lead guitar) and Ross Levine (guitar, backing vocals), partners Tony Cale (drums) and Becky Cale (bass, backing vocals), along with frequent collaborator Hans Munz (electronics). Built around ethereal vocals, twin 12-string guitars, bass, drums and synthesizers, the band creates lush, transportive songs that balance melody, harmony, and rhythm. Praised by critics, Soft Science pairs gauzy textures with restless momentum, blending dream pop, shoegaze, and indie rock into a sound that is hypnotic, melodic, and emotionally direct.

Soft Science's latest album 'Lines' (2023) was preceded by 'Maps' (2018), 'Detour' (2013), and 'Highs and Lows' (2011), along with a split 7”with The Luxembourg Signal (2015) and The House of Love cover ‘I Don’t Know Why I Love You’ and a rendition of Northern Picture Library's ‘Paris’ (2018).

Critically acclaimed, Soft Science has done live sessions at KEXP, WFMU and Part-Time Punks, and performed at New York Popfest, Paris Popfest, The Big Takeover’s 35th Anniversary show, Schellraiser Festival, Tremolo Fest, Dreamgaze PDX, and other festivals across the USA. Soft Science was also highlighted on Sound Opinions’ “Shoegaze Genre Dissection” as one of the hosts’ recent genre favorites (August 21, 2026, Show 1082).

With 'Sand', Soft Science pushes further into the noisier edges of dream pop while preserving the hooks, texture and emotive resonance at the center of their work. Examining how love, memory and identity are shaped by change, they ask what it means to stay connected in an uncertain world. 'Sand' stands as the band's most focused, poignant collection to date. As Dagger Zine wrote, “Pop hooks bump up against heaving waves of sonic swirl and it all shimmers and shines in all the right places,” a fitting description of a group that continues to expand its sound without losing its melodic core.

'Sand' is out September 4 on CD and vinyl, with digital availability through major streaming and download platforms, including SpotifyApple Music and Bandcamp

Liverpool stalwarts The Room explore the dark side of Modern Life on new ‘Doom Pop!’ album

Liverpool post-punk pioneers The Room present their third album 'Doom Pop!', released via 9x9 Records, as well as the video for the album focus track ‘The Room’. Inspired by the strange days in we are living through, ‘Doom Pop!’ explores the rise of authoritarianism, disinformation, war and paranoia. But it equally draws inspiration from science fiction, horror, and cinematic liminal spaces.

Recorded and mixed at Ark Studios in Liverpool, this album was co-produced by Dave Jackson and Steve Powell (Michael Head & the Red Elastic Band, Autour De Lucie, Echo & The Bunnymen).

"We aimed at shorter, sharper, more pop-oriented songs than on our previous album 'The Telling', which was a continuous story told in eleven songs without repetition or distinct choruses. The ‘pop’ element mainly harks back to the roots of our music, updating our original spiky, post-punk independent sound with Ethan Kyme’s keyboard stylings. Lyrically, it is a response to the current climate of emerging fascism and paranoia that increasingly colonizes all media," says Dave Jackson.

"While the songs ‘Drones’, ‘Drill, Baby, Drill’, ‘Continent of Lies’ and ‘Doom Patrol’concern the paranoia and destruction emanating from worldwide warmongers and oligarchs, other songs are influenced by a love of science fiction, horror and liminal spaces. ‘The Room’ is about the film 'Stalker' and a man who guides ‘tourists’ through a Zone corrupted by alien technology. ‘Temptation Harbour’ references three films by the late director Bela Tarr.

Earlier, the band shared the lead track 'Drill, Baby, Drill!' and 'Things Have Learnt to Walk that Ought to Crawl', an adrenaline-fueled blast of melodic post-punk driven by jangling guitars, relentless momentum, and distinctive drumming. In re-envisioning their 1982 cult classic, The Room revisits their roots, exploring themes that remain topical today, proving the enduring power of this music,

'Doom Pop!' is The Room's third album with 9x9 Records, preceded by 'Restless Fate' (2023) and 'The Telling'(2024). This a collection of eleven hook-driven post-punk songs confronts the anxieties of modern life, balancing political urgency with imagination and nostalgia.

"'Things Have Learnt to Walk that Ought to Crawl' is a the only older song re-envisioned for this album, and one of only three 1980s songs by The Room to survive in our live set. We decided to re-record and release it as it fits neatly into our new repertoire with its exhilarating jangly forward thrust, and also highlights Clive Thomas’ unique drumming," says Dave Jackson.

‘No One Comes Here From The Town’ is a response to Shirley Jackson’s 'The Haunting Of Hill House', and ‘Trespassing’ attempts to sum up Dave Jackson’s unproduced science fiction screenplay 'Trespassing' in a 3-minute pop song, tangentially influenced by Dave Bowie’s ‘Drive In Saturday’.

In a lighter, nostalgic vein, ‘Magic Games’ tells the story of a child in his grandmother’s parlour in the early 1960s, while ‘Stories’ is about an inspirational oral storyteller who once said, “Stories told thrice become our possessions”.

Favourites of John Peel, The Room was formed by singer Dave Jackson and bassist Becky Stringer in 1979, during the golden years of northern English post-punk. Reforming in 2022 after disbanding in 1985, they are now joined by guitarist Darren Brown, keyboardist Ethan Kyme, and original drummer Clive Thomas. They have since performed at Shiiine On festival and Preston Pop Fest, and have toured or played with The Red Guitars, Blue Orchids, Trupa Trupa, and Estonia with Shelton San.

The Room recorded four John Peel sessions, appeared on The Whistle Test and worked with Television's Tom Verlaine and John Porter (Roxy Music, TheSmiths, Billy Bragg) on their 'In Evil Hour' LP (1984), aside from releasing three other albums ('Bitter Reaction' in 1980, 'Indoor Fireworks' in 1982 and 'Clear!' in 1983. Recordings from Janice Long's BBC Radio One programme and Saturday Live were used for the 1985 release 'Jackpot Jack' EP

The Room toured the UK and the USA, and performed with The Fall, The Birthday Party, Bauhaus, Southern Death Cult, Violent Femmes, Tom Verlaine, John Foxx and The Red Guitars. Following the band's split, Becky and Dave went on to form Benny Profane, Dust and Dead Cowboys. Dave has also recorded under his own name and as The Room in the Wood (with Paul Cavanagh).

As of September 4th, the 'Doom Pop!' album is out on CD and limited edition mixed eco-vinyl with both physical formats available in North America via Darla RecordsIt is also available digitallyincluding on Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp

ONE WORLD (R)EVOLUTION Release New Album Reflections Of Resilience, Alongside Tracks "Complacency" & "Today Is The Day"

Reflections Of Resilience is the ferocious and empowering new full-length offering from ONE WORLD (R)EVOLUTION. The project, devised by songwriter and vocalist Astrum Lux Lucis, explores resilience, self-examination and personal transformation in the new album. Released via AstraLux Records, Reflections Of Resilience is accompanied by focus tracks "Complacency" & "Today Is The Day".

On "Complacency" Astrum shares, "We can become so consumed by what isn't happening, what we haven't accomplished or what we wish were different that we stop participating in the life that's already here."

"Today Is The Day" is about action. "I've spent enormous amounts of time living inside my own head—analyzing, questioning, second-guessing and wondering whether I should still be doing this at all", Astrum shares. "You can become so consumed with figuring out why you're not where you think you should be that you fail to notice something much more frightening:

Your actual life is happening while you're thinking about it.

Both songs recognize the same danger from slightly different perspectives. 'Today Is The Day' focuses on postponement—the endless belief that life will begin at some future moment.

'Complacency' looks at what happens when that postponement becomes a lifestyle."

Musically, ONE WORLD (R)EVOLUTION fuses alternative metal and modern hard rock with elements of metalcore delivered through heavy, contemporary production. Across Reflections Of Resilience, Astrum's melodic vocals meet moments of visceral aggression as ONE WORLD (R)EVOLUTION present a truly honest and vulnerable sonic offering.

Reflections Of Resilience was created through a collaboration between Astrum Lux Lucis and producer/songwriter Dusten "Dusty" Boles. Reflections Of Resilience was mixed by Dusten Boles and Frank Smith, with mastering also by Dusten Boles. Additionally, Dusten Boles provides guitars, bass, drums-programming, sound design to Reflections Of Resilience. The cover album artwork is created by Angelo Sanfilippo.

ONE WORLD (R)EVOLUTION isn't built around rebellion simply for the sake of rebellion. Its larger philosophy is that meaningful change in the world begins with transformation within the individual.

Eastblood feat. members of JASTA, DEE SNIDER, GENERATION KILL Release New Album 'Burn What's Left'

EASTBLOOD has officially arrived with the release of their debut album, Burn What's Left, available now on all major streaming platforms.

Featuring members of JASTA, Dee Snider, Generation Kill, and more, Eastblood is a four-piece metal force built on speed, volume, and zero compromise. Fusing the ferocity of thrash metal with the raw aggression of punk and hardcore, the band delivers ripping riffs, brutal breakdowns, punishing drums, and nonstop shredding across Burn What's Left.

“'Burn What's Left' is a record about anger, exhaustion, betrayal, and the emotional wreckage left behind by narcissism, manipulation, internet culture, and manufactured victimhood,” says Eastblood. “Beneath the aggression is something deeply human: self-doubt, grief, isolation, and the realization that sometimes the only way to move forward is to stop carrying what other people have done to you. We used that message with lyrics and the fastest, grittiest music we could—and this is just the beginning.”

Rather than simply channeling aggression for aggression's sake, Burn What's Left turns frustration, resentment, and emotional fallout into a full-force sonic attack. The album confronts the darker side of modern culture while exploring the personal damage left in its wake and the catharsis that comes from finally letting it go.

Recorded with a relentless intensity from start to finish, Burn What's Left was mixed and mastered by Nick Bellmore, whose production expertise helps give the album its crushing weight and uncompromising edge.

"Eastblood is pure alchemy — speed and intensity colliding with melody and catharsis, without a single compromise. We can’t wait to unleash what we’ve built on the world," says Charlie Bellmore.

No gimmicks. No polish. No compromise. Just pure sonic violence.

Burn What's Left is out now on all major streaming platforms.

MOB RULES Celebrate Release of 'Stories From The Verdant Vale'

German melodic power metal stalwarts MOB RULES celebrate the release of their new compilation album, Stories From The Verdant Vale, via ROAR - A Division Of Reigning Phoenix Music. Available now on vinyl and across digital platforms, the release invites fans back into the narrative world of the band’s acclaimed 2025 album, Rise Of The Ruler, while revealing another side of its story.

The material for Stories From The Verdant Vale was written during the final stages of the Rise Of The Ruler sessions and now emerges as a special standalone release. More direct and compact than its predecessor, the record remains unmistakably MOB RULES, combining melodic power metal, atmospheric depth and the compelling storytelling that has long defined the band.

“During the final stages of completing the album, we discussed possible bonus material for the earbook edition with the label," vocalist Klaus Dirks recently revealed. "We were reluctant to use demo versions or similar material. This motivated us to write a few new songs. We were well aware of what we were getting ourselves into, but we also wanted to challenge ourselves a little.”

Originally conceived in part as exclusive material, the songs are now receiving a full vinyl and digital release following high demand from fans. While Stories From The Verdant Vale expands the concept of Rise Of The Ruler from a different perspective, each track has a character of its own, making it both a natural extension of the album and a powerful release in its own right.

Stories From The Verdant Vale was mixed by Markus Teske, with artwork by Stan W. Decker.

The Barbarians of California Release Sophomore Album "Megatons" + Share "Earthquake" Video

The Barbarians Of California, featuring Aaron Bruno of AWOLNATION and Eric Stenman of Tinfed and a noted producer, remain equal opportunity iconoclasts with each new song and video they drop. They issue their slump-avoidant sophomore album MEGATONS . Get it here.

They also share the video for "EARTHQUAKE."

Watch the Barbarians get their "gym bro" on below.

"I feel like we are due for another massive earthquake," says Bruno, with his tongue planted firmly in cheek. "So, I wrote a song about it.. .assuming that California will break off into the ocean and Arizona would then be the new coastline."

Regarding the accompanying video, he says, "I wanted to put the band in a setting you'd never expect to find us in."

Gettin' those gains!

With MEGATONS, The Barbarians of California are unleashing fresh chaos straight from the sun-soaked, teeth-gnashing heart of the Golden State. Blending raw hardcore energy, riffs by the pound, and that signature mix of ferocity and tongue-in-cheek humor, these new songs hit like a caffeine-fueled fever dream. Through and through, the band delivers unapologetic anthems that feel both brutally fun yet dangerously addictive.

"Everyone has heard of the sophomore slump," states Stenman. "Making a second album can be a fraught process full of overthinking and self-doubt. Perhaps, the benefit of us starting this band, at this later point in our lives, relieves some of that pressure. This felt so easy, and is a seamless continuation of whatever we started with the first batch of song — just bigger and better."

The Barbarians aren't slowing down — they're just getting louder, meaner, and more ridiculously entertaining.

TBOC have also confirmed their first set of headline tour dates, alongside shows with Guns N' Roses and festival apperances.

ABOUT THE BARBARIANS OF CALIFORNIA:
The West Coast's contribution to hardcore punk is undeniable. That tradition of aggression, passion, and scrappy melodicism continues with The Barbarians of California, an engaging new manifestation of iconoclastic spirit and true bombast.  Born from the shared passion of Aaron Bruno (AWOLNATION) and his longtime engineer Eric Stenman — who cut his teeth in the same Sacramento community that eventually launched diverse and disparate acts like Deftones, Far, Will Haven, Team Sleep, Hella, Dance Gavin Dance, Death Grips, and Trash Talk — the spirit of the underground and the personal catharsis delivered through metallic hardcore never left either of them. So, when Aaron learned that Eric crafted a batch of throwback bangers combining impassioned angst with modern sensibilities, he wanted in immediately. The Barbarians of California was born.

In 2024, the band released their debut album, And Now I'm Just Gnashing My Teeth, and celebrated with a high-energy show at the iconic Troubadour in Los Angeles, cementing their place in the hardcore scene’s next chapter. Since then, they've continued to build momentum with headline shows across LA, a summer 2025 arena tour with Deftones and other festival appearances that brought their explosive live presence to a wider audience. The Barbarians Of California are gearing up in 2026 for the release of their sophomore album MEGATONS.

Produced by legendary heavy music producer Ulrich Wild (Pantera, Static-X, Breaking Benjamin, White Zombie), the album captures a band unafraid to tear everything apart in pursuit of something honest, powerful, and enduring. Coinciding with the album's release, Beautiful Skeletons have also premiered the official music video for "Myrkur," giving fans a powerful visual to one of the album's standout tracks.

More than a collection of songs, Pulse/Line/Scar serves as a deeply personal yet universally relatable body of work, exploring resilience, identity, loss, and the invisible threads that connect every human experience.

The band shares, "Pulse Line Scar is a universal anthology of lived stories, brought together by the thin red pulse line that connects us all, the same line that brings us life and the same line that leaves a permanent impression."

Pulse/Line/Scar showcases a band that has found strength in vulnerability and purpose through perseverance. Every track reflects the tension between chaos and clarity, pain and healing, creating an album that is as emotionally immersive as it is sonically crushing.

With Pulse/Line/Scar, Beautiful Skeletons are poised to establish themselves as one of alternative metal's most compelling emerging acts, delivering an album that doesn't simply ask to be heard, it demands to be felt.

Please get in touch if you would like to interview the band or review the record.

WATCH the Official Music Video for "Myrkur" Below:

The band was formed in 2017 after guitarist Einar posted a Craigslist ad searching for a vocalist. What began as an instinctive collaboration gradually evolved through lineup changes, setbacks, and creative discovery. Over time, the project transformed from an idea into something none of the members were willing to walk away from—a defining commitment that became, in their words, a "do or die decision you can only make once."

That commitment intensified in 2022 when the band received management support and hit the road alongside Yngwie Malmsteen. The experience offered an unfiltered look at the realities of the music industry and solidified their determination to push Beautiful Skeletons beyond potential and into purpose.

Trying to categorize Beautiful Skeletons has never been easy—and they prefer it that way.

Drawing inspiration from Deftones, Alice In Chains, Sevendust, Korn, and Nine Inch Nails, the group seamlessly blends crushing riffs, haunting atmosphere, soaring melodies, and modern heaviness into a sound that refuses to stay confined to one genre.

That fearless approach reached its fullest expression during the recording of Pulse/Line/Scar. Recorded in Los Angeles and produced by Ulrich Wild at WURMgroup, every song was challenged, dismantled, and rebuilt until it carried the emotional and sonic weight the band envisioned. The process forced Beautiful Skeletons to confront not only their songwriting but also their identity as musicians, resulting in their most focused and powerful work to date.

Bayside Share "Don't Come Easy" B-Side + Announce "Bark at the Moon" EP

Since their 2000 formations, Queens punk rock icons BAYSIDE  Anthony Raneri (vocals, guitar), Jack O'Shea (guitar, vocals), Nick Ghanbarian (bass, vocals), and Chris Guglielmo (drums) — have been the purveyors of heartbreak that you can sing along and sink your teeth into. The Queens' 4-piece consistently craft perfect blends of gritty punk energy and razor-sharp pop hooks, giving the alternative world emotionally raw storytelling wrapped up in punchy catchiness that mirrors the chaotic world we live in.

This summer, the band has been issuing EPs curated and selected by a specific band member, complete with artwork designed by said member. Each collection also features a B-side from 2011's Killing Time that has never been digitally released and was only available via vinyl.

It's time for another Bayside B-side!

Killing Time B-side is "Don't Come Easy," and it appears on the Bark At the Moon collection, assembled by Ghanbarian. Watch the visualizer below.

"Don't Come Easy" paints a vivid and candid portrait of a real American boy trying to figure out who he is and where he fits into this great big world. With its slice of life Americana lyrics, paired with post-hardcore and punk rock's oh-so-familiar three chords and the distinct talk-sing vocal style of Raneri, "Don't Come Easy" is a little bit Gaslight Anthem, a little bit Bruce Springsteen, and even a little bit Taylor Swift in how specific details and information about this American boy becoming a man are so immediate — you'll feel like you know him. It's all wrapped up in a post-hardcore package that only Bayside can deliver.

"'Don't Come Easy’ is the first song we wrote from the Killing Time sessions," Ghanbarian recalls. "I remember being really happy with it and thinking it was going to be a lead single, but after writing more songs for Killing Time, it shaped up to be a bit different. The album ended up having more fast and aggressive songs so the blue collar storyline of 'Don't Come Easy' didn't fit in with the rest of the album by then. It was a tough decision, but we knew it would be released eventually — and here we are!"

Bayside kicked off the B-side and EP series with Anywhere But Here, curated by Guglielmo and featuring "Monster." Watch the visualizer here. They followed with Proxima Centauri B, assembled by Raneri and featuring "Battle Scars." Watch the visualizer here

Ian Munsick’s 4th Studio Album, THE MOUNTAIN GOAT, is Available Now

As one of modern country’s few Rocky Mountain artists – and the only one to merge its timeless traditions with an electrifying roots-pop edge – Wyoming native Ian Munsick has taken his music to the wild places few singer-songwriters go. Yet with his fourth album, The Mountain Goat, he climbs farther out on his creative ledge than ever, all to prove Western culture is not a costume.

Listen to The Mountain Goat, available now, HERE

Marking his first independent album and the start of a new partnership between his own WEST TO THE REST RECORDS / Triple Tigers Records, Munsick remains as sure footed as his project’s fearless namesake, thriving in the isolation of a Western-flavored country pop frontier. But over a series of dizzying vocal peaks, new themes of incomparable beauty and harrowing hardship find the sonic homesteader in close harmony with nature.

“As usual, I just want to make sure the part of the country I come from is accurately portrayed in country music,” he explains. “There’s a lot of country in the Rockies and out West that needs representation, and I truly believe that’s a world where I will never run out of creative ammunition.”

Brought up in the shadow of the Big Horns on a family ranch outside of Sheridan, Wyoming, it’s a world Munsick knows by heart. Singing in the family string band before emerging as a solo artist in 2017, he earned the tongue-in-cheek “Mountain G.O.A.T.” title through hardscrabble success, wielding a tenor vocal as crisp as a mile-high morning.

Racking up over one billion career streams between previous albums Coyote CryWhite Buffalo, and Eagle Feather, Munsick has produced one RIAA-Platinum duet “Long Live Cowgirls” (with Cody Johnson) – which also hit No. 1 on SiriusXM’s The Highway Hot 30 Countdown – plus two Gold-certified hits: “Long Haul” and “Horses Are Faster.” Spotify, CMT, and the Grand Ole Opry were among the taste-making institutions to recognize Munsick’s vision, and concertgoers across the globe found a Western authenticity that can’t be faked – at least, not where Munsick’s from. It allowed him to make history in 2025, becoming the first Wyoming-born artist to headline Cheyenne Frontier Days, the iconic rodeo known around the world as the “Daddy of ‘Em All.”

With The Mountain Goat, his quest to capture the Western mystique and bring it to fans continues. Fusing genuine tradition with cutting-edge sonics, 15 tracks (including two interludes and one reprise) feature an “earthy” new organic undercurrent, with the multi-instrumental master more connected to his acoustic roots – and more protective of his territory. After buying a small ranch near the Wyoming/Montana border, he and wife Caroline welcomed the birth of his second child in 2025 – a daughter named Roan – filling his heart with more songs than ever.

“It’s just about 180 acres of prairie grass by the Big Horn Mountains – a peaceful spot where we can escape the craziness of Nashville,” Munsick explains. “My music is very inspired by the outdoors and the people that work the land, so it’s a great spot to reconnect and remember what my family and I have is real. What the Earth has for us is real. Tapping into those emotions is key.”

Co-writing every new song, Munsick explores the profound perspectives brought into focus by the West’s mythical vistas – and the awe-inspiring experience of fatherhood, falling in love, and finding one’s place in the world. That includes the plucky heartbreak anthem, “Love Is Blind” – a high-flying fiddle-pop jam currently scaling the treacherous slopes of country radio.

Co-produced by Munsick with Mike Robinson and Jeremy Spillman, The Mountain Goat continues to blaze new trails across the country landscape. An avalanche of untamed vocal power and raw, grizzled energy still form the bedrock of his sound, but Munsick’s string-band roots shine alongside a serene sonic charm, both wild and a bit whimsical. To get the effect, he and his team laid the foundation of each track personally.

Munsick played acoustic and electric guitar, mandolin, bass, banjo, harmonica – even bouzouki and piano – then a seasoned group of Nashville’s session hands helped finish the songs off. Among them, Ross Holmes’ fiddle was essential to multiple tracks. Justin Schipper added a cinematic pedal steel, and drummer Aaron Sterling gave it all a sense of forward momentum.

That much is clear from the album opening title track. A fiddle sawing banjo stomp with Munsick’s edgy vocal buzz in its full glory, “The Mountain Goat” is both a classic play on words spotlighting his Rocky Mountain credentials, and a tribute to those who resist the flat lands of conformity.

Elsewhere, tracks like the primal, pulse-pounding “Geronimo” take a flying leap off the ledge of love, and the easy trot of “My Montana” gives Big-Sky romance a mood-boosting beat (plus a soaring, free-spirited sound). “I’m a true tenor so there’s no use trying to fit in with the country norm,” Munsick says with a laugh. “Just got to work with the tools God gave me.”

Meanwhile, the overwhelming emotion of becoming a girl-dad surprised Munsick, even as an experienced parent. Tracks like stormy soul ballad “Blue Roan” begin with a tender, Spanish-style guitar, before swelling into a ferocious warning to any future smooth-talking outlaws. It’s joined by the controlled explosive outburst of “World War III.” “I’m a friendly guy, but if you hurt her, I’m going to hunt you down. Those are new emotions for me,” he explains.

Mother nature takes its rightful place in the center of Munsick’s worldview – even when it’s not obvious. With rusty country-rock hooks and a steel-braided drawl, “Cutthroat World” turns an icy trout stream into a restorative getaway. Through the serene prairie pop of “Palomino Eyes,” Munsick’s free-rein falsetto helps frame the stunning beauty he sees in his wife – and the beautiful world she makes possible. On “Winter in Wyoming,” he bids a sub-zero goodbye to a bitter heart.

Munsick takes on the role of a protector on the quiet, soul-and-steel guitar ballad, “Made Me a Man,” then the antidote to heartbreak on the intoxicating, atmospheric rocker, “Medicine Man.” A hand-crafted selection of interludes reference his favorite movie (Legends of the Fall) and an old-timey favorite from his family band (“The Girl I Left Behind”). But it’s not nostalgia Munsick feels for the Western way of life. That, he’s quick to point out, is very much alive.

With the rough-and-ready roadhouse anthem “Earn Your Spurs,” the rancher-turned-Rocky Mountain ambassador sizes up the cosmopolitan cowboys he sees every day. A dusky swirl of baritone guitar and cinematic synth back the message “Anyone can buy the boots, but you gotta earn your spurs.” As The Mountain Goat, it’s both a truth he was born into, and wisdom he’s privileged to share with the world.

“I don’t want to come off as a jerk, but being a cowboy is a lot more than just wearing the hat,” he says. “The main thing is just being able to be real and be who I am. What I want is for people to understand that Western life is not a thing of the past. It’s still here and hopefully it will continue to thrive in the mainstream of country music. And if you know, you know.”

‘A Beast To Praise’ (Live at Fållan, Stockholm) captures a very important moment in the history of DARK FUNERAL — not only the live release ritual for ‘We Are The Apocalypse,’but also our return to the stage after years of silence during the pandemic. That night at Fållanwas intense in every possible way. The energy in the room, the fire, the audience, and the atmosphere all came together into something far beyond an ordinary concert. ABOUT RYAN PERDZ

Ryan Perdz is a 25-year-old singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist from Buffalo, NY. Raised on his grandparents’ family farm, he began teaching himself guitar at age ten and expanded into bass, violin, and mandolin, developing a hands-on approach to songwriting and arrangement.

Influenced by artists such as Nirvana, Chris Cornell, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Led Zeppelin, Perdz channels the emotional weight of 90s rock through a modern lens, balancing grit with melody. His music often explores isolation, self-doubt, and perseverance, delivered with a clarity that feels lived-in rather than ornamental.

After independently releasing multiple singles and his First Sight EP an racking up tens of millions of views across social media, Perdz cultivated a loyal audience through consistent self-directed output. In 2025, he signed with Big Machine Rock and began recording his debut full-length album. His growing catalogue of original music has generated millions of streams, and his audience continues to expand across digital platforms.

As he prepares to unveil his debut album, Ryan Perdz stands positioned at the forefront of a new generation of rock artists shaped by both digital culture and classic influences.
