German melodic metal veterans MOB RULES present their brand-new single "Balance Of Power", offering another powerful taste of their forthcoming studio album Stories From The Verdant Vale. The album is set for release on August 21 via ROAR – A Division Of Reigning Phoenix Music.

Stories From The Verdant Vale sees MOB RULES return to the narrative world introduced with their latest album Rise Of The Ruler (2025), which was widely praised and marked a major milestone in the band’s career. The material originates from songs written during the final stages of those sessions, now presented as a special standalone release.

A true neck-breaker that makes no compromises, "Balance Of Power" impresses with its sheer force and relentless energy. As the band reveals, the track was refined down to the very last second: "Even during the final recording sessions at Bazement Studio, details were added and nuances refined to extract the maximum level of intensity."

The songs on Stories From The Verdant Vale reveal a slightly more direct and compact approach compared to Rise Of The Ruler, while staying true to the band’s signature blend of melodic power metal, atmosphere and storytelling. Expanding the original concept from a different perspective, the material forms a natural extension of Rise Of The Ruler, while each track also stands strong on its own.

As vocalist Klaus Dirks recently said:
“During the final stages of completing the album, we discussed possible bonus material for the earbook edition with the label. We were reluctant to use demo versions or similar material. This motivated us to write a few new songs. We were well aware of what we were getting ourselves into, but we also wanted to challenge ourselves a little.”

 Originally conceived in part as exclusive material, Stories From The Verdant Valewill now receive a proper release on vinyl and digital platforms due to high demand. The record was mixed by Markus Teske, with artwork created by Stan W. Decker.

Chilean guitarist and composer BAXTY has released the new performance video, BAXTY Live Session. Joined by Jaime Pape on bass and drummer Martin Alvares, the new film showcases the technical prowess of BAXTY's independent 2024 EP release, Event Horizon.

SINNER Release First Single "Wait" From Final Studio Album Boom Bang Goodbye

German hard rock legend SINNER present the energized new single "Wait" alongside a music video. This is the first single to land from the band's forthcoming, and final, full-length studio offering, Boom Bang Goodbye. The album will arrive on July 31, 2026, via RPM. For over four decades SINNER have delivered massive hooks, powerful guitars, emotional depth and pure hard rock energy with an uplifting sound, and "Wait" is no different. 

On the new single "Wait", Mat Sinner shares:
“For the first song from the album, I wanted a positive good-time track that simply puts people in a good mood. The political madness we’re living through doesn’t need another depressing soundtrack. ‘Wait’ is also a very representative song for the entire album. Working with Michael Bormann again after 10 years immediately clicked — the chemistry was there right away. And just like on the whole album, there’s an unbelievably great performance from drummer Moritz Müller and my partner Alex Scholpp, plus the absolutely brilliant mix by my friend Jacob Hansen. "No Absolution" showcases the dynamic characteristics of CRIMSON STEEL's sound. Lyrically, CRIMSON STEEL delve into themes surrounding guilt, condemnation, and spiritual isolation. BLOOD OF ANGELS Confront Mortality In The New Single "Nevermore"

"Nevermore" is the introspective new offering from BLOOD OF ANGELS. Confronting mortality, the unknown end that awaits all creatures, the band delve into the foreboding darkness. Accompanied by a lyric video, "Nevermore" arrives ahead of the forthcoming full-length album Les Agnst ov Thanatou, due to be released on June 21, 2026.

Les Agnst ov Thanatou is a concept album centered around mortality, grief, ritual, and the psychological weight of loss. "Where earlier tracks wrestle with death, guilt, and the chaos of mortality", the band explain, "this song embodies the point of no return: the moment when hope, time, and possibility are stripped away, leaving only emptiness and remembrance." The new single is not entirely without hope which is revealed in "Nevermore" in the final lyric: “Then I rise, break free from my demise.”For after death, one's life is preserved in the memories of their loved ones. 

Musically, the arrangement of "Nevermore" grew from a riff devised by BLOOD OF ANGELS' bassist The Maggot. The song leans further into the band's alternative influences, while remaining firmly situated in plains of heavy distortion. A haunting bridge comprised of a spoken word section against low orchestral strings reiterates the album's conceptual theme. Returning to thunderous realms, the track reaches its height by building into a classic doom metal sound.

Les Agnst ov Thanatou represents a significant evolution for BLOOD OF ANGELS. Written during a period marked by widespread uncertainty and personal loss, the album presents a unified narrative that traces humanity’s response to death through resistance, ritual, memory, and acceptance. Recorded at Underground Studios in Tampa, Florida, the album was produced by Bob Noxious, Preston DiCarlo, and BLOOD OF ANGELS, with mixing by Preston DiCarlo and mastering at Soundlab in New York City.

Since forming in 2017, BLOOD OF ANGELS have earned international recognition for their songwriting, musicianship, and uncompromising vision. Their accolades include the 2023 Hollywood Independent Music Award for “Best Rock/Metal Song” and multiple Akademia Music Awards. APOSTLE Announce New Album A Splinter in the Infinite Noumenon, Release Crushing New Single "Swine"

ATLANTA, GA metal trio APOSTLE have announced their forthcoming full-length album A Splinter in the Infinite Noumenon, set for release June 5, 2026 via Terminus Hate City. Alongside the announcement, the band has unveiled the album’s first single, "Swine", accompanied by a visualizer.

Formed in 2017, APOSTLE have built a reputation for blending the aggression of grindcore and chaotic hardcore with the atmosphere of post-black metal and the melodic weight of shoegaze and post-rock. Their sound is urgent, emotive, and cathartic, drawing influence from bands such as Plebeian Grandstand, Yellow Eyes, Wiegedood, Mourier, and Kły. With A Splinter in the Infinite Noumenon, the Atlanta trio deliver their most cohesive and devastating work to date.

"Swine" erupts with panicked tremolo melodies and punishing rhythmic shifts, channeling collective frustration into controlled chaos. Lyrically, the track confronts systems of oppression, consequence, and accountability, using stark imagery and visceral delivery to underscore the emotional and political weight behind its message. The album title references Carl Jung’s description of humanity as a “splinter in the infinite deity,” framing the record as an exploration of spiritual duality, grief, and self-examination. Next, kicking off with a section of torrential, arpeggiated dissonance, "Abyssal Uncertainty" quickly announces its brutality before diving into rapid, NECROPHAGIST-inspired riffing. The fretless bass weaves in and out of each riff, acting as the translator between the frantic guitars and precise drumming. Despite shifting meter and tempo, the song maintains a consistent feel and raw edge throughout, sonically illustrating the darkened narrative. It features the standout solo of the EP, utilizing the track's unyielding brutality as momentum into a soaring passage that showcases a more playful lead guitar style. "Abyssal Uncertainty" is the most lyrically-ambitious track of the EP, with nods to Camus, Lovecraft and other literary influences. The listener is invited to witness a trapped laborer's descent into madness, reflecting on and acknowledging the absurdity of his life and death. The struggles depicted here represent those of anyone who has been forced to devote themselves to someone else's greed, and the yearning for a world where we can each live in accordance with our own nature.

Finally, "Survive the Vermin" ends the EP with the appropriate blend of ferocity and spellbinding technicality. Vocalist and guitarist Ben Champion shows off a viscerally emotive vocal range, skillfully punctuating his mid-range snarls with screeching highs for maximum impact. Bassist Stan Mitchell and drummer Kim Hughes lay the foundation for the song's intensity with a punchy, driving rhythm section. Guitarist Blake Hibberd propels the momentum forward with a relentless barrage of twisting, turning, shredding leads. The lyrics of "Survive The Vermin" develop themes of purpose and identity on the EP through a first-person account of a cosmic, immortal warrior. Surrendering flesh for steel, the narrator struggles to detach themselves from the sensations they thought to have discarded. The lyrics ask if, when we give ourselves wholly to one purpose, it is worth sacrificing the simplicity of everyday life. Paying homage to sci-fi author Nate Crowley and absurdist philosophy, "Survive The Vermin" provides the most direct declaration of the themes behind the EP.

“War Of Hearts” keeps the barrage of sweeping lead guitars and chugging riffs coming. Furious drumming lays the foundation for the desperation that the song conveys. A passionate vocal delivery and subtler keyboard notes betray the melancholy that lurks beneath energetic, fast-paced beats. The lyrics speak of uncertainty, regret, and fear of the future, while remaining determined to forge onward in spite of it all.

The synth-dominated “Dark Temptation” marks a dramatic twist in the album’s trajectory. In a surge of catharsis, the vicious thrill of forbidden love replaces the melancholy and yearning of the previous tracks. The narrator declares their love for a “mistress of the night”, igniting a renewed spark of passion that had once threatened to fizzle out. Instrumentally, the song trades complexity for impact, with melodies certain to be remembered long after the story ends.

The album takes an ominous turn on “Steel And Thunder”. Heavy, hard-charging riffs and lightning-fast leads intertwine with cinematic synths as a ferocious battle rages. The song sheds a new light on classic power metal themes, with imagery of a vengeful narrator taking back their destiny in the face of a seemingly-unstoppable, inhuman enemy. The bridge offers a short lull amid the chaos, but the energy quickly picks up again, carrying on with unrelenting force until the final note.

“Strangers To Love” introduces bass-heavy electronic elements and melodic female vocals. Though the riffs remain prominent, the song leans more heavily on melody and cinematic atmospheres, contrasting noticeably with the previous tracks. The band proudly shows off their versatility and emotional depth with a sound that bridges modernity and nostalgia.

“Beyond Horizons” opens with triumphant guitars and Latin-language gang vocals that recall the classic, energetic power metal sound that inspired INDUCTION. The synths are relegated to the background, in favor of shredding solos and powerfully-layered vocals. A higher key change in the final chorus lends one last dramatic flair, as the narrator proclaims the fulfillment of a destiny.

“Gods Of Steel” brings the bass back to the forefront, accompanied by crushingly heavy riffs and dramatic synths. Ominous vocals dominate the verses, warning of an impending conflict. The drama comes to a head in the chorus, as the narrator urges their companions to take their fates into their own hands “with an iron will”.

Mixed feelings about a relationship arise on the title track, “Love Kills!”. The narrator laments the failure of their romance while acknowledging the enduring, complicated nature of love. Like others before it, “Love Kills!” is deceptively upbeat, presenting a serious undertone beneath the polish and glamor of the music.

“I Am Evil” is a straightforward, shredding rocker that relies on heavy riffs and keyboards in equal measure. The softer moments never last long, inevitably exploding into brash, catchy melodies or guitar solos.

“The Veil Of Affection” leans heavily on cinematic drama, with sweeping synths and melodic guitar work. The riffs chug along, while symphonic atmospheres soar above. The narrator longs to open his heart, but fears losing himself in his emotions, and closes himself off to the world.
