Randall King’s NEON (UNPLUGGED) Available Now

When Hereford, Texas native Randall King created his sophomore major-label album Into The Neon, the neotraditionalist ventured into a new territory sonically, intentionally adding more edge and instrumentation. King always intended to strip it back, so after switching it up night-after-night across a solid year of touring, Neon (Unplugged) was complete. Recorded at Sound Stage Studios, it’s available today – listen HERE.

“One of the things I love most about country music is the ability to take one song and completely change the sound just by stripping it down to vocals, guitar and a dobro,” King says of the album he co-produced alongside Jared Conrad. “Country is equal parts two-stepping in a honkytonk and sitting around a fire singing your heart out, and I wanted to capture both. I’m excited to share this stripped back version with all of you.”

Where Into The Neon drew inspiration from the hues of neon found in the glowing honky tonk signs that backlit the more than 150 bars, dancehalls, clubs and theater stages he plays a year, Neon (Unplugged) is more reminiscent of his nights spent under those that light the skies in the plains of West Texas.

Neon (Unplugged) offers slowed-down renditions of fan-favorite waltzers “When My Baby’s In Boots” and “What Doesn’t Kill Me,” and also features King’s close friend, singer/songwriter Dan Smalley, on his reimagined honky tonk anthem, “Tonk ‘Til I Die.”

Into The Neon was released Jan. 26, 2024 to critical acclaim, leaving Holler crowning him as “the genre's neo-traditional figurehead” and Texas Monthly observing “his Texas bona fides are unimpeachable.” Into The Neon was also named among the top country albums of 2024 by Entertainment Focus and Whiskey RiffThe album yielded King’s first country radio single, “I Could Be That Rain,” which has 80 adds to-date.

Randall King Sets Acoustic Album ‘Neon (Unplugged)’ for Feb. 21

Hereford, Texas native Randall King, lauded by Billboard as a “hardcore country vocalist," is stripping back his sophomore album Into The Neon  with the release of Neon (Unplugged), set for Feb. 21. “One Night Dance (Unplugged)” offers the first taste of the acoustic album, and is available everywhere now.

“There is something unique about taking a song, stripping it down to just an acoustic guitar, and singing it with a bit of a different flare,” muses King. “That’s one of the beautiful things about country music. You can rock out with a band or you can sit down by a fire with only a guitar and sing your heart out to the same song. ‘One Night Dance (Unplugged)’ is the first taste of that stripped back version that I wanted to share with all of you.”

Produced by King and Jared Conrad, Neon (Unplugged) was recorded at the historic Sound Stage Studios in Nashville, Tennessee. Known for its prestigious status in country music, the studio has produced over 500 No. 1 hits for some of King’s greatest traditional influences, including Johnny Cash, George Strait and Alan Jackson.

Where Into The Neon drew inspiration from the hues of neon found in the glowing honky tonk signs that backlit his budding career, Neon (Unplugged) derives a more raw, natural sound reminiscent of his days spent under the neon stars that light the skies in the plains of West Texas where he was raised.

Randall King Enters Neon Era

Hereford, Texas native Randall King is embarking on a new sonic chapter as he ushers country music Into The Neon with his 18-track sophomore album, available today.

"We are officially in the Neon era baby,” proclaims King. “The TONK factor is on and set to 11!"

With inspiration drawn from the hues of neon that backlit his budding career – inclusive of the glowing skies in the plains of West Texas where he was raised and the radiant signs of the nearly 150 honky tonks he performs in each year – Into The Neon is a humble recollection of King’s experiences and observations.

“Sonically, this album represents a sound I’ve been honing in on for some time,” shares the west Texan of his 7-year journey. “Lyrically, the album’s a little bit of everything, just like life: heartbreak songs, two-steppers and love songs, all are mostly true stories of life along the way.”

Co-produced by King alongside Jared Conrad, his second full album for Warner Music Nashville incorporates a unique blend of the influences from icons and modern masters alike who have inspired King’s sound; inclusive of the timeless country twang of George Strait and Keith Whitley, and the blood pumping, Y2K-era rhythms of Dierks Bentley and Gary Allan.

Opening track “One Night Dance” kicks off the project with a spark, as the narrator shares a dance with a girl at the bar and is determined it won’t be their last. As the plot progresses, King traverses from toe-tapping waltzers “When My Baby’s In Boots” and “Tonk ‘Til I Die;” to the yearning lament on “I Could Be That Rain.

Laying it all on the line with songs that could just as easily be enjoyed while slow dancing under the starry night sky or while two-stepping at a local honky tonk, King simultaneously showcases a sense of maturity with introspective tracks “Hang of Hangin’ On” and “I Don’t Whiskey Anymore.”

King is currently on the road, with upcoming headlining shows in Springfield, MO; Baton Rouge, LA and more. For the full list of tour dates and more information, visit RandallKingMusic.com or follow @RandallKingBand across all social platforms.

“Heartbreak and Honkytonk. Turn up the dial and pour ya a drink, you're gonna need one,” remarks King. Written by Jake Worthington, Kim Penz and Roger Springer, “Coulda Been Love” is an up-tempo toe-tapper, as the narrator retrospectively ponders his decision to turn down a dance with a girl and realizes perhaps it could have led to more.

What was I thinkin’ sayin’ I don’t dance girl
Let her walk away and it coulda been love
Bet you right now she’d be lightin’ up my world
What was I thinkin’ it coulda been love

Co-produced by King alongside Jared Conrad, Into The Neon incorporates a unique blend of the influences from icons and modern masters alike who have inspired King’s sound; inclusive of the timeless ‘80s country twang of George Strait and Keith Whitley, and the blood pumping, Y2K-era rhythms of Dierks Bentley and Gary Allan.

Inspired by the countless nights spent strumming his guitar under the expansive skies in the plains of West Texas where he grew up – and by his current road warrior diet which finds him revitalizing Country’s neo-traditional sound under the neon signs of nearly 150 honky tonks he performs in across the country each year – King ushers people Into The Neon on Jan. 26, 2024.

It’s a place where rowdy roughnecking, romantic tenderness and breathtaking emotion are all welcome; an ode to nature and the humble establishments that have nurtured country music’s blue collar roots since its foundation. It’s these very places that have nurtured King’s love for music and wide open spaces, too.

About Randall King:
A West Texas native and self-described “old soul," Warner Music Nashville's Randall King has never wavered in his honky-tonk allegiance – in fact, he’s worn it like a badge of honor, growing with pride into a leading voice for today’s traditional country. Amassing over 290 Million streams with singles like “You In A Honky Tonk,” “Hey Cowgirl” and “Mirror, Mirror,” he’s kept the twang alive in country’s mainstream while also earning acclaim through deeply personal EPs like 2020’s Leanna, and his 2022 major label album debut, Shot Glass – which landed on both Whiskey Riff’s Top 40 Country Albums of 2022 and Billboard’s All Genre 50 Best Albums of 2022 (So Far). Schooled on icons like Keith Whitley, George Strait, Alan Jackson and John Anderson, but inspired by modern masters like Dierks Bentley and Gary Allan, King first built an independent, grass-roots following on the strength of his electrifying live shows – each one a harrowing mix of rowdy roughnecking, romantic tenderness and breathtaking emotion – never asking for permission to explore his creative vision. He has since gone on to headline all across the U.S., the U.K. and Europe, where he continues to play nearly 150 shows a year and hone his craft where it matters most. Named a Country Artist to Watch by everyone from Pandora and Country Now to Music Mayhem Magazine, his sophomore major label album Into the Neon takes that craft to the next level on January 26, as King’s neo-traditional roots meet the blood-pumping rhythms and sharp, arena-sized grooves of Y2K-era country and beyond. Co-produced by King and Jared Conrad, and featuring 18 tracks, punchy sounds exist side-by-side with timeless swagger, further blurring the line between yesteryear and today – even as King renews his forever-country vows.

Randall King Offers Baritone-Treatment on Holiday Classic “Silent Night”

With his highly anticipated 18-track sophomore album Into The Neon arriving Jan. 26, 2024, Warner Music Nashville’s Randall King isn’t making fans wait for new music, today offering his Billboard-praised “sturdy baritone” on holiday classic “Silent Night.”

King’s take on “Silent Night,” co-produced by King and Jared Conrad, juxtaposes his signature low-pitched vocals with the dancing high chords of the mandolin, and the steady strum of a steel guitar, offering an upbeat tempo on the holiday favorite. View “Silent Night” lyrics below.

“We ain’t silent on this night, it’s out now!” exclaimed King. “Early Christmas present from me to y’all!”

Into The Neon, also produced by King and Conrad, incorporates a unique blend of the influences from icons and modern masters alike who have inspired King’s sound; inclusive of the timeless ‘80s country twang of George Strait and Keith Whitley, and the blood pumping, Y2K-era rhythms of Dierks Bentley and Gary Allan.

Showcasing his ability to traverse from a toe-tapping waltzer with “When My Baby’s In Boots” to the yearning lament of “I Could Be That Rain,” King lays it all on the line with songs that could just as easily be enjoyed while slow dancing under the starry night sky or while line dancing at a local honky tonk.

King has stayed busy on the road while balancing time in the studio recording new music throughout 2023, recently returning from his first-ever European tour in September, Neon Overseas, with a set of 11 shows, including sold-out stops in Cologne, Germany; London England and more. As the year winds down, King continues to support Jon Pardi and Ian Munsick on select tour dates, while headlining stops in Las Vegas, NV during NFR; Salt Lake City, UT and more.

About Randall King:
One of country’s new crop of modern traditionalists, Warner Music Nashville artist Randall King grew up on the endless plains of West Texas – and his sound is steeped in their timeless beauty with a mix of grit and grace. He grew up singing in the back of a ‘93 Chevy Suburban, mimicking the pure-country vocals of stars like Keith Whitley, George Strait, Alan Jackson and John Anderson and over the years became drawn to the electrifying energy of modern stars like Eric Church, Dierks Bentley and Jason Aldean. After years of hustling and a road-warrior’s diet of 150 shows each year, King produced and released the defiant 2016 EP, Another Bullet, then followed up with a 2018 self-titled album. Now, King is bringing an organic, timeless sound to the mainstream with his major label debut album Shot Glass. The 11-song collection, seven of which were co-written by King, centers around a night out at a bar, with each track representing a different point of view of those in the room. The album was named to Whiskey Riff’s Top 40 Country Albums of 2022 and Billboard’s All Genre 50 Best Albums of 2022 (So Far), making him the only male country artist to make the list. With over 200+ million career streams to his name, the 2023 Music Mayhem Magazine and 2022 Pandora and Country NowCountry Artist to Watch is looking to the anywhere-and-everywhere future with music that captures the essence of a Western poet who’s never been afraid to be himself.

Randall King’s ‘Into the Neon’ 18-Track Album Arrives Jan. 26, 2024

Raised on the plains of West Texas, Randall King honed his craft with countless nights spent strumming his guitar under the expansive skies, backlit by the stars’ neon glow. Flash forward to today, and King’s road warrior diet finds him revitalizing Country’s neo-traditional sound under a different kind of neon – the radiant glow from the signs of nearly 150 honky tonks he performs in across the country each year.

It’s this inspiration of nature and the humble establishments that have nurtured country music’s blue collar roots since its foundation that inspired King to usher people
Into the Neon – to a place where rowdy roughnecking, romantic tenderness and breathtaking emotion are all welcome – with his 18-track sophomore album, due Jan. 26, 2024 via Warner Music Nashville.

“You grow wiser with age, you grow wiser while you’re working and experiencing life, and I feel like I have a deeper understanding of what my music really is,” King reflects of the growth he’s experienced since his 2022 release, Shot Glass. “We're moving into the neon era of country music. The pendulum is swinging, and you’re watching it happen… Now I just hope people get their mind blown.”

Co-produced by King alongside Jared Conrad, the project incorporates a unique blend of the influences from icons and modern masters alike who have inspired King’s sound; inclusive of the timeless ‘80s country twang of George Strait and Keith Whitley, and the blood pumping, Y2K-era rhythms of Dierks Bentley and Gary Allan.

With the release of “
Hang Of Hangin’ On,” available now, King finds himself graciously holding close to the girl he loves despite keeping “a goodbye up his sleeve” in the past.

“Think I’m getting the hang of hangin’ all this music out there,” King laughs. “I sure loved this song from the first time I heard it. Go spin your lady to this one y’all!”

Despite being in the studio recording new music in 2023, King has stayed busy on the road, recently returning from his first-ever European tour in September,
Neon Overseas, with a set of 11 shows, including sold-out stops in Cologne, Germany; London England and more. As the year winds down, King will support Jon Pardi and Ian Munsick on select tour dates, while continuing to headline stops in Paso Robles, CA; Reno, NV; Salt Lake City, UT and more.

King’s 3rd Annual KingFest in Luckenbach, TX will take place on Nov. 11 with Gary P. Nunn, Jon Stork and Braxton Keith at the helm for support. For upcoming tour dates and more information, visit

Randall King Releases “Burns Like Her” Amid European Tour Proving Pain is Universal Language

As Randall King readied a new release this week, he was a long way from Amarillo, Texas – the closest big city for the Hereford native. Following shows in Gstaad, Glasgow, Manchester and London, the “You In A Honky Tonk,” and “Hey Cowgirl” singer takes the stage in a few hours for his first-ever show in Cologne, Germany, on the tailend of a run spanning two weeks in Europe, complete with sellouts and plenty of schlager.

Sharing his excitement on the release of "Burns Like Her" and his tour underway, the man who’ll play over 200 shows this year alone shares, "Got another new one y’all! Gotta say this one is different in a great way. Had a lot of fun with my co-producer puttin that edge on this one! Got the steel burnin just like her & the drank.

“Country music is the people’s music, and taking it to the people wherever they are is what makes this so much fun. Whenever we’ve got a new song, we play it for them first, and ‘
Burns Like Her’ tipped her hat early as one we needed to get out sooner-rather-than-later.”

Written by Adam James, Greylan James and Mikey Reaves, “Burns Like Her” depicts the irresistible sensation of wanting someone so much it hurts, and is the latest release off his highly-anticipated upcoming 2024 album.

        She’s a night in California
She’s a cigarette and I’m the vinyl seat
        She’s blacktop in Arizona
And I’m hitchhiking at high noon on bare feet

“For a kid that grew up singing the late, great Keith Whitley’s ‘Living Like There’s No Tomorrow,’ if I’m gonna sing about pain then the lyrics gotta put you right there with me. It’s everything I love about Country music: storytelling, visuals, a two-stepping tempo with an intro that invites you to come on in, regardless of the burn.

“For fans of ours who’ve cried on
‘Around Forever,’ or sat in a smoky bar and recognized themselves in ‘Mirror, Mirror,’ ‘Burns Like Her’ is for you.”

Randall King Debuts 2 New Tracks: “Hard To Be Humble” & “The One You’re Waiting On”

Hereford, Texas native Randall King brings his Billboard-praised “sturdy baritone” to the forefront alongside a healthy dose of hubris and equal parts vulnerability on latest double-shot delivery: “The One You’re Waiting On” and “Hard To Be Humble.” Listen HERE

The son of a working man, King was raised on the influences of country music greats Alan Jackson, George Strait, Keith Whitley and more; his neo-traditional style a byproduct of living life the way he often heard reflected in their lyrics. It was this same authenticity that rang out when King first heard “The One You’re Waiting On” and was instantly drawn to the longing, reflective track.

“The first time I heard this song, I had it playing in my truck and was just blown away, pretty sure I missed a turn,” King laughs. “The song is just incredible. I have sung along to it so many times runnin’ down the highway. I have always loved it and you can hear my passion for this song reflected in my vocals. I’m beyond excited to have this one out there.”

On the other hand, where “The One You’re Waiting On” hangs on King’s ability to project the anguish of love slipping away, “Hard To Be Humble,” also out today, balances as an upbeat, cheeky brag. With his head held high, King sings:

No I can't help talk about you
Walk a little taller in my old boots
Never liked showing off what I got
But look at you baby, how could I not
Ain't anybody else that I wanna be
When every guy in here wants to be me
Walking in with you on my arm
Lovin’ you’s easy, but girl it's so hard
        To be humble

“We were pitched ‘Hard To Be Humble’ by my buddy Jake Gear (produces Hailey Whitters), and the email had gotten lost in the mess of what my inbox is. Two days before we went in to cut I just happened to be going back through my old emails and found this song sittin’ there, put it on, and went ‘Whoa… how was this song missed?!’ We cut this catchy fun love song and boy I got to tell ya, I’m sure glad I double checked my Gmail that day!”

As he continues to tease new music, King is set to kick off “KingFest” at the Nashville Palace tonight for the first of two back-to-back shows in Music City. The two-day branded festival event features support from Tyler Booth, Braxton Keith, Drake Milligan and Jon Stork.

Already known for his road warrior diet of over 150 dates each year touring across the United States, King continues his trek internationally next month with 11 European tour stops. With five of the shows already sold-out, the overseas dates have been met with fan enthusiasm, leading King to set his sights on larger venues to meet the demand. Once he returns from the European run, King will join as direct support on select dates of Jon Pardi’s Mr. Saturday Night World Tour.

Now, King is bringing an organic, timeless sound to country’s mainstream with his major label debut album Shot Glass. With over 200+ million career streams to his name, the 2023 Music Mayhem Magazine and 2022 Pandora and Country Now Country Artist to Watch is looking to the anywhere-and-everywhere future with music that captures the essence of a Western poet who’s never been afraid to be himself.

Randall King Ushers in His Neon Era with "Green Eyes Blue," Out Now

Warner Music Nashville recording artist Randall King’s music is bound to keep people “two-stepping on the dance floor” as noted by CMT, and with his latest release, “Green Eyes Blue,” the Texas native continues to do just that. Ushering in what can only be described as his “neon era of country music”– with tunes that are best enjoyed while swaying under the neon haze at a local honky tonk – “Green Eyes Blue,” written by King and Randy Montana, finds him in awe with the taming of his once wild heart. Listen below.

Debuting the song for the first time from the Grand Ole Opry stage last week (March 15) during his second Opry appearance – exactly one year after making his debut in 2022 – made its meaning even more special. The song finds King acknowledging his wayward past while displaying a vulnerable side and sense of astonishment with the power of the love which saved him:

I was running around all over town
        Fences couldn’t keep me in
All my buddies said I’d be lucky
If I could outrun my sins
It’s like I was saved from the hell I raised
When my gaze locked on you
        Said I’d hate to make
        Those green eyes blue

“I wrote this a couple years back with Randy Montana about this great green eyed girl I know," shares King. "It’s about being a better man and leaving your wild ways behind to not hurt the one you love.”

Fresh off a performance at London’s celebrated C2C Festival, King recently announced he will continue his international trek this fall with the addition of new European tour dates. Known for his road warrior diet of over 150 dates each year touring across the United States, the hustling King will carry the fall leg of his tour through seven new cities in 2023, with stops in London, Manchester and Glasgow in the U.K. and Berlin, Munich, Hamburg and Cologne in Germany.

Hard-Touring Texas Troubadour Flies Two Stepping TikToking Fans to Town
and Brings Viral Dance to Video Set

Filmed at Cahoots Dancehall & Honkytonk,
Home to King’s First Headlining Show in State of Tennessee

Warner Music Nashville artist and Amarillo, Texas native Randall King has a knack for creating tunes that you can tap your feet to, and as fan-favorite “You In A Honky Tonk” off 2022’s Shot Glass gets a video treatment, it also brings a new two-step to one of middle Tennessee’s last remaining true honky tonks.

“In West Texas, if you don’t keep ‘em on the dance floor you aren’t doing your job,” King speaks of his early days playing for tips and growing his touring base. “When I booked my first headlining gig in Tennessee, I couldn’t believe we pre-sold-out Cahoots Dancehall & Honkytonk. It’s kinda become a tradition to bring these songs to life there just like I remember that first night on their stage. First with our ‘Record High’ music video, and now, with a song named ‘You In A Honky Tonk,’ you have to go to a real honkytonk for the video.”

Claiming a MusicRow DisCovery Award upon its release, critic Robert Oermann states, “this dude is a for-real country singer, and this rhythm-happy Texas honky tonker stakes a for-real claim to stardom,” while Rolling Stoneremarks, “King sings it with delicious gusto, curling his voice around notes in impressive — but not flashy ways — and demonstrating why he’s a talented newcomer to watch.” And King’s music has even Saving Country Musicopining, “nobody is more traditional when it comes to new mainstream country than Randall King,” and the UK’s Holler noting ahead of his performance at C2C Festival this year, “there’s an old-fashioned sensitivity and a likeable softness to King’s particular brand of cowboy masculinity.”

Written by John King, Matt Rogers and Brandon Day, the Bart Butler and Ryan Gore-produced “You In A Honky Tonk” music video was brought to life by director Brooke Greenberg after already amassing millions of listens (and spawning tens of thousands of videos) thanks in large part to user LonestarTequilaBar’s original thigh-grabbin’ new line dance. “Naturally when it came time to shoot the music video, we had to have the ‘You In A Honky Tonk Two Step’ featured,” King boasts, “and who better to star in this than the ones who made it famous!” See King with the duo behind the scenes of the shoot HERE
