Buckcherry to Celebrate 25th Anniversary All Month Long!

Buckcherry's debut album turns 25 this year and the band is celebrating all through 2025.

Beginning April 6, frontman and founding member Josh Todd will take us down memory lane through a series of "The Story Behind The Song and Album" confessionals giving insight of the songs and the history behind some of the moments writing and recording the album. The videos will be released on the band's socials + website through the coming months.

Released on April 6, 1999, by DreamWorks Records, "Lit Up," "For the Movies," "Dead Again," and "Check Your Head" were released as singles. After peaking at #1 on Billboard's Top Heatseekers, the album has sold in excess of 1,000,000 copies worldwide. The album was certified Gold by both the RIAA and Canada, making it DreamWorks' first Gold album.

"Lit Up" reached #1 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks chart for three consecutive weeks and #33 on the Modern Rock Tracks in mid-1999 and peaked at #74 on Billboard’s Top 200. The song was not without controversy due to the lyrical references to cocaine, which even led to MTV censoring the video for broadcast, but that didn't stop it from becoming one of the most popular rock songs from the era and has since accrued nearly 70 million streams on Spotify and 23 million views on YouTube  It even made VH1's list of the 100 Greatest Hard Rock Songs in January 2009, landing at #98.

Skid Row Shares Music Video For "Resurrected" — WATCH // Second Leg Of Buckcherry Tour Starts Friday!

Now's the time to see, we're resurrected!

earMUSIC and SKID ROW unleash the music video for "Resurrected," the fifth single from the band's latest album The Gang's All Here.

Skid Row were never a band that was going to let anything get in their way, and their latest video for "Resurrected" takes that idea to the ultimate next level.

Directed by Frank Gryner, who has created eye-popping videos for Alice Cooper and Def Leppard, and from an original concept by Skid Row's Rachel Bolan, the video captures the band in a new environment, showcasing their versatility as they confidently tackle a formidable challenge.

"Being a fan of animation, I was very excited when the opportunity to do an animated video was presented to us," recalls Bolan. "I really wanted to give the video a sci-fi feel that would convey that you can conquer anything, no matter how big the monster, even if it lives within the parameter of your inner circle."

WATCH THE VIDEO FOR "RESURRECTED"

Since releasing The Gang's All Here in 2022, Skid Row have been non-stop conquering all that there is to conquer. With Top 20 album positions in numerous countries, the album has spawned new fan favorites like "Tear It Down" and "Time Bomb," which rock side-by-side with classics like "18 and Life" and "Monkey Business" in their live sets.

Undefeated and now "Resurrected," Skid Row are back on the road in December in North America along with Buckcherry.

"You don't want to send this band out on stage with a chip on its shoulder," advises Bolan. "That's for damned sure."

VENREZ RELEASES RADIO SINGLE WITH SPECIAL GUEST STEPHEN PERKINS, ANNOUNCE TOUR WITH BUCKCHERRY

Fast-rising melodic rockers Venrez are back with a new single and upcoming live dates. The single “Each and Every Day” featuring Jane’s Addiction drummer Stephen Perkins and mixed by Malcolm Springer (Tantric, Collective Soul, Matchbox Twenty), was just delivered to rock radio and was #3 most added for the Billboard Rock Indicator Chart. The song is the follow up to “Show Me” which previously hit #16 on the Billboard Rock Indicator Chart.  Both tracks are taken from their current EP, ‘Purgatory Awaits’, released via Pavement Records. The EP features 4 songs with Jane’s Addiction’s Stephen Perkins on drums. And come next month, the band will be playing a set of US tour dates this August, supporting Buckcherry.

“The new radio single, 'Each And Every Day,' lyrically has an important message regarding what dangers government overreach can cause,” explains the group’s singer, Ven. “Musically it simply rocks like no other Venrez song we have recorded, and is one of the 4 tracks on the EP which Stephen Perkins from Jane's Addiction played drums on. This track is one of my favorites to play live.”

Rounding out the band is Jason Womack on guitar and backing vocals, Gabe Maska on bass, and Victor Singer on drums. In the past, Venrez has opened for Alice Cooper, Slash, LA Guns, Buckcherry, Fuel, Hardcore Superstar, Michael Schenker and Enuff Z'Nuff.

“I met Stephen 'Perk' Perkins when he was playing in an all-star band at the Dome shows in downtown Los Angeles. When we signed with Pavement Entertainment, there were 4 of the 6 songs that had to be recorded. Our drummer, Victor Singer, lives in France, and the COVID restrictions at that time would not allow him to come to Los Angeles to record. So, I contacted Perk and he was totally down to record the tracks and really dug the sound we had going for those songs. He actually changed the intro to 'Each And Every Day,' making it a much better song than the demo. We were really blessed to have him on those 4 tracks.”

Concerning the upcoming live shows with Buckcherry, Ven offers some hints as to what fans can expect from their performance. “Venrez is an extreme force of energy on stage. The chemistry between my bandmates is virtually telepathic. We deliver a huge and raw 4-piece rock n roll sound that goes on feel. Every show will be slightly different.”

And lastly, expect to hear more from Venrez going forward. “Jason and I recorded over 64 new demo songs between the pandemic and January 2023. We will get back in the studio after this tour and record the new EP, release it early next year and plan to tour all year behind this new record. COVID may have set us back 3 years, although the best of Venrez recordings and live shows is yet to come.”

BLACKTOP MOJO Introduce Fans to New Concept Theme with Animated Video, "Jealousy/Make Believe"

Texas Rock Band BLACKTOP MOJO has released an animated, "Jealousy/Make Believe," a two track compilation and first installment for the 3 song concept within their 2021 released, self-titled album. Created by front-man MATT JAMES and bassist CATT MURTIS on the porch of the band’s house in Palestine, TX, with an acoustic guitar, "Jealousy/Make Believe" blossomed in Nashville with the help of producer PHILIP MOSLEY. The animated video will be released in two parts, with part two concluding the story with "Darlin I Won’t Tell,' which will be released later.

“From our fourth record, ‘Jealousy/Make Believe’ and ‘Darlin I Won’t Tell’ are sort of a concept album within the album. The three songs flow together as a singular narrative and we wanted to create a striking visual to convey the story. We decided to do something cool that we’ve never done before and make a 3 song animated video to tell this story of heartbreak, murder, and deception. ” - BLACKTOP MOJO

Formed in late 2012 by vocalist Matt James and drummer Nathan Gillis in the small East Texas town of Palestine, Blacktop Mojo’s fiery blend of sludgy grooves, classic rock guitar riffs, and southern metal shredding falls somewhere between Soundgarden and Lynyrd Skynyrd to form a sound deemed by some as "Texas Grunge". The music draws on a multitude of genres and styles to form a hodgepodge of dirty, heavy rock and roll mixed with sensual and at times even, carnal blues.

After their debut album I Am” in 2014, The band spent a few years cutting their teeth in dive bars, dancehalls, and honky tonks around Texas. In 2017, during the recording of their sophomore record Burn The Ships the guys quit their day jobs, moving into a small house together in Palestine, TX. The house created an unbreakable fellowship between the band and a culture of constant creativity.

Released via their label Cuhmon Records, Burn The Ships yielded two Billboard Top 40 singles on the Mainstream Active Rock charts including “Where The Wind Blows” (#27) and a cover of the Aerosmith classic, “Dream On” (#31). After the album cycle and touring for Burn The Ships concluded, the guys returned home in 2018, where they locked themselves in the band house for six months to write their third record, Under The Sun. The record yielded them another top 40 single in "Can't Sleep" (#27) and the band continued touring in the US through the beginning of 2020.

Locked down with the rest of the world and unable to continue touring, the guys began work on their fourth, self-titled album, which released August 13th, 2021 to rave reviews, reaching #3 on the iTunes Rock Chart and #17 on the all-genre Albums Chart.

About SUMO CYCO and Initiation:

Over the course of the past several years, Ontario, Canada’s SUMO CYCO featuring teen pop-superstar/songwriter turned rock goddess Skye “Sever” Sweetnam as well as producer/guitarist Matt “MD13” Drake and bassist Oscar Anesetti – have proven themselves as one of the hardest working DIY-to-overnight sensation stories in heavy music, boasting an undeniable following of fans with their impressive mixture of metal, pop and everything in between. Even after garnering early viral acclaim and signing to Napalm Records in 2020, the band's seasoned DIY attitude and self-starting viral savvy continues to propel their creativity at every step, converting audiences all around to their infectious world of sound!

Initiation invites a mass of new followers into SUMO CYCO's warped, dystopian-like world of “Cyco City”! As with their prior full-length albums Lost In Cyco City (2014) and Opus Mar (2017), and countless singles, Initiation is based in the imaginative conceptual location of the same name. Last fall, SUMO CYCO took the album a step further and dropped the official Digital Deluxe Edition of Initiation, featuring peppy new single "Sun Eater", plus additional limited edition tracks "New Jive", "We Are The Nation" and "Awakened".
