TESTAMENT ANNOUNCES REMASTERED/REISSUE OF 'PRACTICE WHAT YOU PREACH' OUT MAY 8TH

Iconic Bay Area thrash band TESTAMENT has announced the upcoming remastered reissue of their coveted 1989 album, Practice What You Preach, on May 8th via Nuclear Blast Records.

The Practice What You Preach (2026 Remaster) reissue was remastered by Justin Shturtz at Sterling Sound. It will be available digitally and 180G vinyl on Yellow and Orange Swirl with Black Splatter (limited to 1250 worldwide) and is packaged with brand new artwork from Bill Benson (who also designed the original cover art), a 20pg booklet showcasing old photos and documents provided by Chuck Billy and Eric Peterson of the band and newly provided liner notes.

Commenting on the reissue, Chuck Billy says:

UK alt-hardcore quintet Higher Power have released a video for their track 'Count The Miles', ahead of their highly anticipated sold-out show, at Leeds Brudenell Social Club on Friday 16th January.

The band's third studio album, There's Love In This World If You Want It, was surprise released digitally in summer 2025 via Nuclear Blast Records.

Frontman Jimmy Wizard commented on the video:

Inner peace. That’s the aim for us all, isn’t it? Well, the truth is that it is always there waiting for you. You just need to work away a little bit to find it, digging deep and questioning yourself to get closer and closer to achieving that ultimate sense of personal zen. It may not always feel like the search is paying off, but there is always potential for that love, compassion and understanding of who you are to seep through. The journey may be challenging, but you’ll be glad that you took part in it in the end.

For Higher Power, that journey has seen them do things that, when they emerged onto the Yorkshire hardcore circuit in 2015, were never even on their radar. From their innocently frantic beginnings of emulating and celebrating legendary bands like Leeway and Merauder for a new generation, even playing their first two shows in the basement of the house owned by The Flexand at an early iteration of Outbreak Fest respectively, the ten years that have followed have seen them ride every ebb and flow that the music industry has to offer. Rob Zombie and Marilyn Manson today announced a co-headlining tour across North America, taking place this summer. The tour unites two of rock’s most recognizable icons and consummate showmen for what promises to be a blockbuster 21-date run. It kicks off on August 20 in West Palm Beach, FL at iTHINK Financial Amphitheatre, rolls through major markets such as Boston, Chicago, Detroit, and more before concluding on September 20 in Concord, CA at Toyota Pavilion at Concord. The tour will also feature Gold-certified Mongolian metal collective The Hu and Multiplatinum-selling Los Angeles industrial rock stalwarts Orgy as special guests on all dates.

With their third studio album now just weeks away, MØL continue to push deeper into their own creative world. PARADISE LOST UNVEILS NEW VIDEO FOR 'SALVATION' FROM ACCLAIMED NEW ALBUM 'ASCENSION'

Icons of goth and doom, PARADISE LOST have revealed a new music video for the song ‘Salvation’ from the band’s widely acclaimed new album, Ascension. Directed by longtime collaborator Ash Pears, the stunning, cinematic portrayal of one of 2025’s most haunting tracks provides further evidence of their unyielding creative vision decades into the band’s legendary career.

Commenting on the song and video, vocalist Nick Holmes states:

"Salvation embraces the belief in a higher power and seeking forgiveness for a lifetime of transgression, typically prompted by the approach of death or a significant crisis. However, the video, and given that it is Christmas, takes perhaps a more optimistic view. The circle is closing. THE HALO EFFECT unveils the fifth and final song from their highly anticipated cover EP We Are Shadows. Each member of the band selected a personal favorite and classic track to reinterpret, and this last choice comes from drummer Daniel Svensson.

Svensson’s pick is a heartfelt tribute to Gothenburg legends Broder Daniel – their 2003 alternative pop anthem 'Shoreline'.

Needless to say, THE HALO EFFECT have made the song entirely their own, delivering a powerful and emotional rendition where frontman Mikael Stanne once again shines, seamlessly blending clean vocals with his unmistakable growls.

Reflecting on his choice, Daniel Svensson comments:

Swedish melodic death metal collective THE HALO EFFECT continue to reveal tracks from their forthcoming cover EP We Are Shadows, out November 21.

Each band member has chosen a personal favorite song to reinterpret, and this time it’s guitarist Niclas Engelin’s turn. His choice: the 1985 classic 'Dance With The Devil' by the legendary “supergroup” PHENOMENA, featuring Glenn Hughes, Mel Galley (Whitesnake), and Cozy Powell, among others.

THE HALO EFFECT’s version transforms the iconic track into a crushing, melodic storm — with Mikael Stanne’s ferocious growls and the band’s trademark guitar-driven intensity breathing new life into the timeless song.

Niclas Engelin recalls the song’s lasting impact:
“I got hit by lightning in the 7th grade when I got to borrow the album by Phenomena from my friend Emil Olsen. The song Dance With The Devil struck me hard, and I recorded the whole album on cassette — which I played into dust.”

Texas death metal hellions TRIBAL GAZE have released their eagerly awaited sophomore album, Inveighing Brilliance, today with Nuclear Blast Records.

Since their introduction just four years ago, the five-piece has quickly slayed listeners and audiences around the world with their signature, modern twist on brutal old-school death that has propelled the band to pack leaders in their scene. Armed with an unbridled onslaught of riffs, the band cuts through the crowd with an intense, unrelenting new album of disorder, featuring furious stand out tracks like “To The Spoils of Faith” and “Beyond Recognition.”

Commenting on the record’s release, guitarist Quintin Stauts says:

“This album represents a different era for us. The world really seems like a different place than when the last record came out. This one focuses less on creative fictional story telling and more on truly feeling violent. We felt it was appropriate to take a more radical approach to riff and lyric writing.”

With digital artwork by Dom Pabon (Final Resting Place) that evokes sci-fi decay and meditations of ancient ruin, the album looks and sounds like a lost realm where reality fractures under the pressure of its own contradictions.

Tracks like “Beyond Recognition” and “To the Spoils of Faith” expand on these apocalyptic themes. The former imagines an outside force annihilating humanity in judgment of its arrogance, built on some of the band’s most punishing riffs to date—swinging between chaos, groove, and sheer obliteration. The latter churns with mechanized fury and contempt for blind belief, echoing Meshuggah-like timing with lyrics that drag faith to its own ironic hell. Across the record, Tribal Gaze capture the violence of thought and sound in equal measure—uncompromising and vividly self-aware.

Their ascent to Nuclear Blast was anything but formulaic. After leveling stages on tour with Frozen Soul, the band caught the attention of legendary A&R Monte Conner, who waited outside a venue in New York just to share his admiration. That moment solidified a new chapter for Tribal Gaze—a label that values creative freedom and pushes bands to expand without dilution. With “Inveighing Brilliance”, they’ve done just that: stripped away illusion, stared into the abyss, and made it echo.
