The Bites Release New Album + Have The Worst Day Ever In New Video For "Hold On"!

Los Angeles rock quartet, The Bites, have today released their long awaited, sophomore record, "The Bites" via Earache Records. Pulling grit from garage rock, energy from pop punk, and swagger from blues, the record finds The Bites looking back at how far they've come while barreling straight into what's next. Alongside today's album release, The Bites take us on a chaotic ride with a brand new video for standout track, "Hold On", chronicling one disastrous day where seemingly nothing goes right. The Bites also celebrated the release of their new record with a premiere of the music video for "Hold On" at Universal Studios Hollywood: Citywalk last night, giving fans the first look ahead of the official release. The band will also be performing at Universal Studios Hollywood: Citywalk as a part of their Halloween Horror Nights entertainment series on Saturday, October 24th. The Bites have also just been announced as part of the upcoming video game Stage Tour's setlist - seeing “Do Me a Favor,” their fan-favorite track from debut album "Squeeze", appear alongside the likes of Metallica, Motley Crue and ZZ Top in the game.

Breaking down the chaos of a day-gone-wrong on "Hold On", The Bites share:

"We wanted the ‘Hold On’ video to take the idea of having a really bad day and push it to ridiculous extremes. Just about everything that could go wrong does, and we had a lot of fun with that. But underneath all the chaos, there's a real story about holding on to hope, even as it starts to slip away. The rose starts looking a little worse for wear as the day goes on, too. We took that same approach across this album, getting more honest and personal without losing the fun and energy that's always been part of The Bites. Sometimes you've just gotta laugh at how bad things get, pick yourself up, and keep going.”

On the sound and the story behind their sophomore album, The Bites share:

"We tried several other album titles, but none of them felt right. Squeeze captured a band that was still figuring itself out. By album two, we'd toured together, lived together, written together, and developed a much clearer understanding of who we were.

We got more honest with the lyrics, experimented with new sounds, and pushed ourselves further than ever before. Some songs are more personal, some are louder and more reckless, but they all feel like us.

The self-title wasn't about declaring we'd reached our final form. It was about finally understanding the foundation of the band well enough to put our name on it. The name feels earned, but we're nowhere near done. Now we get to see how far we can take it.”

The Bites first ignited this new era with "Aftertaste", a high-voltage comeback that hinted at what was to come on the new record. Hailed by Classic Rock (UK) as "zingy, catchy rock'n'roll with dirt on its boots and sunny pop rock harmonies fresh off the beach," the track took The Bites to new heights at radio, peaking at #32 on the Mediabase Activator and #33 on the SMR chart, and highlighted their ability to fuse road-worn edge with a breezy, West Coast melodic shine. THE ETERNAL CELEBRATE RELEASE OF NEW STUDIO ALBUM OBSCURED HORIZONS WITH MUSIC VIDEO FOR "HARMONY BREAKS"

Australian/Finnish progressive dark metal masters THE ETERNAL celebrate the release of their new, critically-acclaimed studio album Obscured Horizons via Reigning Phoenix Music, further refining the band’s distinctive musical vision. Currents Unveil "Worlds Away" EP + Share "Kill the Ache — Reimagined" — LISTEN

Foward-thinking Connecticut quintet CURRENTS — Brian Wille [vocals], Chris Wiseman [guitar], Ryan Castaldi [guitar], Matt Young [drums], and Christian Pulgarin [bass] — are releasing the new EP, WORLDS AWAY, via SharpTone Records. Get it here.

"Worlds Away is five stripped down, re-imagined songs from The Way It Endsand The Death We Seek. 'Kill the Ache' hasn't left our live set since it came out six years ago. We've played it all across the world and shared it with so many of you over the years. It felt great to get in the studio and approach this song with all those memories behind it," the band said. "With that said, each song is very special to us. We're happy to present you all with a new way to hear some of our favorites and yours. JD Deblieck helped us take this project to another level and Steve Sopchack delivered some stellar guitar work throughout."

Currents never compromise neither creatively, nor philosophically.

As if controlling chaos by hand, the Connecticut quintet balance an inclination for invention with innate intensity, defying expectations and expanding the scope of heavy music in the process. By following an internal creative compass, the group have continued to tread a singular path without comparison. 

"Over the years, we didn't listen to anyone else, we made the choices we wanted to make, and we believed in the people who stood behind us," Wille says. "Each day, it's always just been one foot in front of the other. Since nobody ever thought this would be a viable career option, it's so meaningful that people want music from us."

Long before tallying hundreds of millions of streams and playing to sold-out crowds, the spark behind Currents began to flicker as early as 2011. Wille had joined the fold during 2015, and the band pushed forward with a series of critically acclaimed fan favorite releases such as The Place I Feel Safest [2017], I Let The Devil In EP[2018], The Way It Ends [2020], The Death We Seek [2023], and All That Follows [2025]. Along the way, they shared stages with everyone from Parkway Drive and Beartooth to Ice Nine Kills and Motionless In White to The Plot in You.

Bayside Share "Saddest Song" B-Side From "Premium Selections" EP

Since their 2000 formations, Queens punk rock icons BAYSIDE — Anthony Raneri (vocals, guitar), Jack O'Shea (guitar, vocals), Nick Ghanbarian(bass, vocals), and Chris Guglielmo (drums) — have been the purveyors of heartbreak that you can sing along and sink your teeth into. The Queens' 4-piece consistently craft perfect blends of gritty punk energy and razor-sharp pop hooks, giving the alternative world emotionally raw storytelling wrapped up in punchy catchiness that mirrors the chaotic world we live in.

This summer, the band has been issuing EPs curated and selected by a specific band member, complete with artwork designed by said member. Each collection also features a B-side from 2011's Killing Time that has never been digitally released and was only previously available via vinyl.

"Saddest Song" is painfully gorgeous and begins with delicate acoustic guitar and Raneri's rich, immediately recognizable voice as he delivers a deeply personal story with the conviction of someone unafraid to put their emotions on full display. The song steadily builds before erupting into a powerful full-band crescendo, transforming its melancholy into something expansive, visceral, and cathartic.

"I remember the song being one that we had a hard time establishing an identity for on the record and it really just became a vibe or a mood," says O'Shea "Having a very intimate controlled verse followed by big crushing wall-of-sound part filled with dozens of layered parts gave this one its life."

Nearly fifteen years after arriving in Nashville with a dream and lots of determination, Baldridge is entering a new chapter with FARM FAITH FAMILY, his third full-length album and first release on BBR Music Group/BMG Nashville. The 16-track project is a deeply personal reflection of the life he has built along the way - one shaped by music, family, faith, farming, entrepreneurship and an unwavering belief in himself.

For Baldridge, the album represents more than a career milestone. It is the culmination of more than a decade of persistence, sacrifice and independence, arriving at a moment when the singer-songwriter finally has a team behind him that shares his vision and believes in the music as much as he does.

“It’s overwhelming to think about sometimes,” said Baldridge. “I’ve been working toward this moment for almost 15 years, which is crazy to think about. Olive Vox Release Debut EP 'Trace It Back'; Release New Video For "I Do"

Texas alt-rock quartet Olive Vox release their debut EP, Trace It Back, today via Big Machine Rock. Across six tracks, the band turn the lens inward, working through guilt, damaged relationships, self-destructive patterns, expectation and the uneasy process of confronting the parts of yourself you would rather leave buried. Arriving alongside the EP is focus track “I Do” and its official video. The song centres on the pressure of being defined by other people and the conflict between keeping the peace, staying true to yourself and wanting to be properly understood by someone who has witnessed what you have been through. Speaking on “I Do”, Olive Vox share:

“This song is about wrestling with the heavy weight of expectations and the feeling of having your true self buried by people who thought they had you figured out. It is caught between wanting to conform to keep the peace and the desperate hope that your art or your voice can bring you back home. Underneath the fear of judgment and getting things wrong, there is a strong need to be truly seen and understood by someone who was actually there to witness the struggle.”

That tension sits naturally inside Trace It Back, an EP shaped by what happens when honesty starts costing something. Trace It Back captures that period without trying to force it into a clean resolution. The songs deal with recognising destructive behaviour, carrying guilt, wanting forgiveness and struggling to move beyond versions of yourself that still affect the present.

Musically, the EP draws from alternative rock, post-punk, indie and modern heavy music, with the band keeping melody and live impact at the centre of the songs. That emphasis on performance has remained central throughout the campaign, with Olive Vox continuing to build their audience through touring as much as through streaming and video.

The EP arrives while Olive Vox are on the road supporting The Toadies across the US. Following recent runs with Badflower and Raue and a return to Camp Woodward this summer as featured musicians and mentors, the band play The Blue Note in Columbia, Missouri tonight before continuing the tour through October 3rd in Ventura, California.

Just days later, Olive Vox will head back out for a newly announced run supporting Beauty School Dropout on their “The Circus” F/W 2026 US Tour. The seven-date run begins October 8th in Sacramento, California and takes the band through Reno, Tucson, Oklahoma City, Indianapolis, Allentown and Pittsburgh.

Oregon's death metal quartet SEA SLEEPER preset their sophomore full-length album, Burden of Antlers. With a sound that embraces the weird and obscure, Burden of Antlers sees the band hone further the cohesion across their composition process to produce an offering that is thoroughly eclectic and heavy.

Today, Five Finger Death Punch released various physical editions of their brand-new 10th studio album, Legacy, which arrived digitally on July 31 via Better Noise Music. The collection includes limited-edition vinyl, CD, and cassette variants featuring exclusive artwork, available now through the band's official store HERE, with the European and UK vinyl release following on October 9. Adding to today’s release, the band also dropped the official music video for the album’s title track "Legacy." Celebrating two decades of Five Finger Death Punch, each physical variant stands out as a singular collectible, arriving as the band continues its current North American leg of the 20th Anniversary World Tour through October 23.

Since its digital release in July, Legacy has already yielded over 60 million streams and counting. Upon release, the album claimed spots on 18 international charts. Most notably, it vaulted to #2 on the US Top Digital Albums Chart, hot on the trail of only Ariana Grande's Petal. On Spotify, it hit #6 on the US Top Albums Chart and #8 globally.

Strix is blending the nostalgic fury of MySpace-era deathcore with grim black metal influences, marking a deliberate shift toward a less symphonic, more hardcore sound.

After the release of “New Moon Rising On Florence” in June and “Groan From The IXth Circle” at the end of July, both accompanied by vibrant and fast cut performance videos, for the EP release the artist is focusing on the last track on the EP, called “The Heptad Omen” and comments:

Postpunk-Shoegaze stalwarts A SHORELINE DREAM reflects on two rich decades on ‘20’, announcing 'Waiting' album

Twenty years since their debut album ‘Avoiding the Consequences’, Colorado postpunk-shoegaze outfit A Shoreline Dream mark the milestone with '20', a dark and deeply introspective single that looks back on the distance traveled while questioning what remains ahead. It also previews their new album ‘Waiting’, released via Latenight Weeknight Records. 

With brooding lyrics, '20' turns the anniversary into something far more personal than a celebration. This is a head-on confrontation with time, uncertainty, sacrifice, and the weight of devoting so much of one's life to music.  Hitting it hard and merging genres into one loaded number, this blast of "melodispych cave-of-the-well sound", as it has been called, is an appropriate way to celebrate the nearly 120 tracks the band has released to date - cavernous offers rooted in waves and inner-eye soundscapes.

Formed in 2005 and based in Barnum, Colorado,A Shoreline Dream is aduo of multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Ryan Policky and guitaristErik Jeffries. For just over two decades, Policky and Jeffries have built a catalog approaching 120 released tracks while developing a sound rooted in shoegaze, psychedelia, post-punk, and expansive guitar-driven experimentation.

“The track '20' just somehow came together so fluid and was just all my favorite sounds combined into one memory of our sound. Paying homage to our original vibes from way back when. I love goth. Love darkwave. Love huge walls of any genres sound, and this was trying to hit them all at once. Why not do something big at such a crazy place to be in this music career of ASD," says frontman Ryan Policky.

This single arrives on the heels of ‘Legacy’, which similarly reflects on the time, choices, and sacrifices behind one of Colorado’s longest-running independent music projects. A sludging, bass pumping song that reflects thoughts agout all that has been sacrificed - so many of the normal everyday life milestones achieves in the band's sometimes tragic, yet rewarding, legacy.

As they near this 20th anniversary, A Shoreline Dream look at that history from a deeply personal perspective. Years spent writing, recording, producing, and refining A Shoreline Dream's music have often meant choosing the demands of the creative process over many of the conventional milestones of everyday life. The song considers what remains when so much of a life has been devoted to making music, and whether the work itself ultimately becomes the legacy.

The release comes during one of the band's most prolific periods. Rather than treating 2026 as a year of reflection, A Shoreline Dream committed to releasing singles every month, while developing new material towards ‘Waiting’, the band's second full-length album of 2026, which will include nine tracks.

Their current creative roll follows a significant period of collaboration with Ride frontman Mark Gardener. Through A Shoreline Dream's partnership with Shameless Promotion PR, Policky and Gardener connected for a series of recordings that resulted in five co-produced and performed songs, the most recent of these appearing on the album ‘To Where They Have Gone’, released in February.

That relationship is part of A Shoreline Dream's love affair with the UK music community. The band has worked extensively with Ulrich Schnauss and has also collaborated with members of Engineers, Chapterhouse, Rocket Girl Records, and mastering engineer Mark Kramer (Urge Overkill, Bongwater, Shimmy Records).

“2026 has been the year of true sonic inspiration, and the first time I’ve found myself in a constant music writing mode. After working with Mark Gardener, my mind has been humming melodies to me daily," says Ryan Policky.

That renewed creative momentum has also been shaped by the world outside the studio. The response has been to make music that provides an alternative to that noise: music that is melodic, heavy, expansive, and immersive.

“It’s been a brutal human climate, and the distractions are so overwhelming in the media / toxic social media world. I’m f’ing over it. I just want explosive and melodic tunes to distract from this insane world, and these songs are exactly that. The tales of dealing with a world in chaos I hope resonate with all those out there looking for new musical vibes and explosive soundscapes. We have come back to the original feeling of A Shoreline Dream," says Ryan Policky.

ASD's 'Waiting' album arrives not as a retrospective statement, but as a marker of where they stand now. With Policky and Jeffries having maintained their creative partnership through changing musical landscapes and an evolving industry, 'Waiting' is their response to reaching the 20-year milestone by a band looking back without standing still. While ‘Legacy’ and '20' acknowledge an event-filled journey, ‘Waiting’ points firmly toward what comes next.

As of September 11, '20' is available from digital music platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp, where 'Legacy' can also be found. The ‘Waiting’ album will be released on October 16th.

As for the EP's accompanying title track, GOA says, "'Saint of the Dark' is about the tug of war between virtue and pleasure. The desperate feeling of slipping away from the light, trying to hold on with all you have. Sonically, this song leans into being the ballad of the EP, but don't expect a lack of intensity."

Get Out Alive is the brain trust of Chas Huff, a solo alternative metal artist originally from the southwest suburbs of Chicago, Illinois, who later relocated to Palm Coast, Florida. His musical journey began in high school, producing on a borrowed computer before stepping into the local scene as a performer. Over the years, he played in multiple bands, including a punk band which shared stages with acts like Puddle of Mudd, and later a group that opened for artists such as Fame on Fire, collaborated with notable features, and secured a distribution deal. He further expanded his reach through an international project earning another distribution deal and working alongside recognized collaborators.

After years of band experiences and setbacks, Chas shifted his focus toward his solo project, Get Out Alive, creating a fully independent outlet for his artistic vision. Self-produced and developed alongside collaborator Zack Baker (Rain City Drive), his sound blends heavy riffs, immersive atmosphere, melodic vocals, and emotionally driven, hook-focused songwriting. Outside collaborations and industry opportunities ultimately reinforced his decision to invest fully in his solo path.

Born out of isolation and personal struggle, Chas uses Get Out Alive as more than just music, it serves as a self-help-driven creative expression rooted in growth, faith, and introspection. Influenced by psychology and philosophy, his work explores the balance between light and dark while embracing raw honesty. Through his music, he aims to turn pain into purpose, offering listeners both emotional release and a sense of hope, grounded in the belief that to truly get out alive, you must face the truth.

The long-awaited fourth album from Green Lung is finally upon us. The masters of occult riff-craft have officially released Necropolitan, which is out now via Nuclear Blast Records. A huge step forward in songwriting and vision, Necropolitan is the album Green Lung have been threatening to make since their inception.

As well as a portrait of the triumph and power of death and nature over the dreams and dominion of humankind, Necropolitan is a grand celebration of the folklore, occult and heavy music scene of the band’s birthplace, the city of London. The album title derives from the seven garden cemeteries (necropoli) circling the city, all built in the Victorian era.

Today, the band have also revealed a visualiser for 'Dance to the Grave', the record's first track. The song delivers a memento mori to the current alliance between far-right politics and tech in the face of the climate crisis, with giant, swinging riffs and a chant-along mid-section.

With producer Tom Dalgety (Opeth, Ghost) at the helm, this time handling everything from recording to mixing, the band decamped to Rockfield Studios in January 2026, following in the muddy footprints of some of their key inspirations, from Black Sabbath to Queen to Judas Priest. Sonically, they were set on capturing their megalithic live sound more accurately than ever - stripping back their usual dense, multilayered arrangements to their rawest, leanest form and recording much of the album live to capture their Sabbathian heaviness, frenzied Hammonds and haunting Mellotrons as faithfully as possible.

A cult band in every sense of the word, Green Lung emerged from London’s heavy rock scene with self-released debut EP Free the Witch (2018).

SHOWING TEETH Drops New "A Fate Worse Than Loneliness" EP — OUT NOW

Infiltrating the vanguard of heavy music with an uncanny and unpredictable sound like no other, acclaimed Nashville-based sonic alchemist SHOWING TEETH presents her much-anticipated debut EP, A FATE WORSE THAN LONELINESS, out now via Republic Records + Spinefarm. In tandem with the project, she opened up an online store and uncovered her first-ever official merch drop, featuring a "Bad Exchanges" camo hat, Labyrinth longsleeve shirt, and CD version of A FATE WORSE THAN LONELINESS — available here.

Musically, the track's glitchy riff slips into a buoyant palm-muted groove, while airy keys carry the verses. Boosted by alternately crunching and chugging distortion, SHOWING TEETH translates anxiety into a transfixing refrain as she accepts, "Maybe it's too late to pick me up…I'll throw myself back down….Even up to now, I'll tell myself, 'You'll never make it out'." 

Amplifying her internal struggle aloud without shame, she fearlessly wrestles with self-defeat on the hook and pushes through with honesty and heart intact.
