Anti-Flag Share "SOLD EVERYTHING" Video

BAND'S 13TH ALBUM LIES THEY TELL OUR CHILDREN OUT TODAY, JANUARY 6, VIA SPINEFARM

TOURING WITH FLOGGING MOLLY + SKINNY LISTER KICKS OFF IN FEBRUARY

Incendiary Pittsburgh punk rockers ANTI-FLAG have released their 13th album Lies They Tell Our Children today, January 6, via Spinefarm. Get it here.

To celebrate the release, the band will be featured on the upcoming cover ofNew Noise. The issue includes a flexi-disc featuring the band's take on the Dead Milkmen classic "Punk Rock Girl." Get it here.

Additionally, the band has shared the video for "SOLD EVERYTHING." Watch it below.

The video was directed by INDECLINE, who impressively shot SEVEN videos for the album tracks.

Take a deep dive into the track by reading this document.

2023 is an incredibly important year for Anti-Flag, as it marks three decades of profound punk rock.

"2023 — 30 years of Anti-Flag. If we're being completely honest, this milemarker of longevity is both unbelievable to us and at the same time not a shock at all.

"The four of us have committed our lives to these songs, shows, and records. We have placed precedence on this work and believe it to be intrinsically tied to our value as people on this planet. If you would have asked the kids who started this band if we would still be Anti-Flag 30 years later, we would have probably thought we wouldn't make it this long. But we would have collectively resounded that as long as we're alive, we would be making music with the goal of unifying people and communities, positioning empathy over apathy, and using everything at our disposal to be agitators and disruptors of status quo, exploitative, capitalist politics."

"LIES THEY TELL OUR CHILDREN represents a band that is still working on its craft, and we challenged ourselves to be better songwriters, leaving familiarity and comfort zones. Perhaps it's too ambitious to make your 13th full-length album a concept record, but if we have learned anything through our privileged lenses of longevity, it's to be true to ourselves. This was our plan. A record that is fulfilling emotionally and spiritually, we basically said 'Fuck it, this is the record we wanted to make, the people we wanted to collaborate with, the type of song we want to play live and share across the globe.'"

"It's a shot of optimism and inspiration to carry on, stay the course, created because it's what we have to do. We hope that people like it, listen to it, stream it, or whatever… but truthfully, we would be doing all of this with or without an audience, it's all we have known as Anti-Flag for 30 years and we don't see that changing any time soon."

Lies They Tell Our Children was recorded, produced, and mixed by Jon Lundin.

Anti-Flag Share "VICTORY OR DEATH (WE GAVE 'EM HELL)" Video Feat. Campino

New Album 'Lies They Tell Our Children'

Out January 6 Via Spinefarm

Band Touring With

Flogging Molly & Skinny Lister in 2023

Incendiary Pittsburgh punk rockers ANTI-FLAG are inching closer to the release of their 13th album 'Lies They Tell Our Children' on January 6 via Spinefarm.

Pre-Order it HERE

For this record, the band recruited several high profile and like-minded artists to feature on the songs.

For "VICTORY OR DEATH (WE GAVE 'EM HELL)," A-F looked to Campino of Die Toten Hosen.

Watch the video below. Video is directed by INDECLINE.

"From the first play through of the chord progression of 'Victory or Death,' we knew where it needed to go lyrically. It sounded like hope. It sounded like empathy. Carrying the stories of freedom fighters who were forgotten, perhaps never known, or far too often had their legacies softened, made out to be less radical and safe for American History books.

"This song stands as homage and a testament to the people who've laid the groundwork for progress. Using all within their sometimes limited power to alleviate suffering, challenge the status quo of violence, and demand a reckoning with societal norms that further marginalize and exploit people.

"In spirit with the concept behind Lies They Tell Our Children, we were leaning hard on and embracing our inspirations as a band. Touring with Die Toten Hosen in 2008 was an eye-opening experience. One that has stuck with us through the years. So it only made sense for us to reach out to Campino to see if he had interest in being a part of this track. Not only was he willing to sing the verse we wrote for him, he also penned his own in German. Our hearts and minds were blown away by it.

"This song is one of the most important moments on the album. We’re grateful to share this with the world. To pay our respects to the activists and agitators who lived their lives to leave the world better than they found it.

"March on to our very last breath, it's victory or death…"

NEW ALBUM 'LIES THEY TELL OUR CHILDREN'

OUT JANUARY 6 VIA SPINEFARM

Incendiary Pittsburgh punk rockers ANTI-FLAG will release their 13th album 'Lies They Tell Our Children' on January 6 via Spinefarm.

Pre-order it here.

For this record, the band recruited several high profile and like-minded artists to feature on the songs and on "NVREVR", they've partnered with Bad Cop/Bad Cop's Stacey Dee.

Watch the video, which was filmed in Pittsburgh by Josh Massie and directed and

edited by INDECLINE, Below

"Living in a society that values corporate profits above all else is a grind," the band proclaims. "Making the choice to go against the grain in such a world is even harder, especially in a culture that has been brainwashed to worship capitalism as a savior and cure-all. Those who strive to create alternatives to capitalism for the common good garner little attention and quite often find their efforts met with open hostility. This song is dedicated to those who recognize that 'the free market' is incapable of solving many of the ills that plague our society and do everything in their power to put people and the planet before corporate profits."

A-F continue, "Stacey Dee of Bad Cop/Bad Cop is one of those unsung heroes. That fact inspired us to ask her to appear on this song. In addition to being an incredibly talented performer, she dedicates countless hours to the organization she co-founded, The Sidewalk Project, which works to empower houseless communities around the world."

For this record, the band recruited several high profile and like-minded artists to feature on the songs.

Today, the band has shared the video for "MODERN META MEDICINE"

Watch it below.

The track features Killswitch Engage vocalist Jesse Leach.

"Let's be honest, in a world and cultural climate that reaps division and sows a void of nuance in our conversations, writing a record that challenges a healthcare system that puts profit before people can be scary," the band says. "But an opioid crisis, miracle cures for our weight, our skin, the hair on our heads, a limp dick, and then the simultaneous denial of access to healthcare for the bodies of pregnant people, the poor, Black and immigrant communities is a stark contrast that must be discussed.

"At the crossroads of where business models and our healthcare intersect, the for-profit model has beyond proven it is unsustainable. And the fact that these corporations have preyed openly upon the most vulnerable in our society with very little push back has only opened the doors wildly for the conspiracy theorist, instead of allowing us to globally celebrate science, progress and the advancements of our healthcare.

"MODERN META MEDICINE' looks to trace back the origins of capitalisms takeover of our health as global citizens, the Reagan era policies that allowed for billionaires to flourish off of the suffering of so many. Healthcare is a human right, and we need to steal our rights back from a machine that sees us as commodities and profit margins, however we can.

"We are grateful to Jesse Leach from Killswitch Engage for lending his talent and empathy to this track. Since becoming friends we’ve had a few great conversations on this topic so we knew he would be perfect for this and holy shit did he deliver."

For the lyrics and essay about the track, click HERE

INDECLINE, who shot the video, also commented, "In a feedback loop of self-referential information, it's hard to sort out any kind of accountability. The moment of epiphany is often washed away in the tidal wall of think pieces, hammering truth into sophistry, our sense of identity into marketing campaigns. Music is powerful, like all art, because it hinges on the truth of the moment, something felt first. We feel, personally, that health is the point of being alive, not a luxury good to keep the markets accelerating toward a concentration of wealth in the hands of an emerging class of cynical billionaires, who would burn the planet to build their rocket ship out of here.

"The Black Panthers understood that health is the first step in community, and community is the first step in change. We won’t argue about resources; in a world of cruel excess, we are sure that a little organization and empathy in the dispensation of what we already have would make a difference in the quality of life for everyone. So, imagine a world in which quality was preferenced over quantity. Or rather, over empty dollar signs. Imagine measuring our markets in the effect they have on those who participate in them instead of the intangible math of growth. We would have a different health care system in that world. What would it look like?

"'First, 'do no harm' has never been an excuse to do nothing. It is a challenge to think about the deeper consequences of how we dispense care. It doesn't cost us anything to think about it, but it costs an awful lot not to. We are grateful to Anti-Flag for giving people music that allows them to think about what really matters. This is actually a love song. But the love is available equally, for everyone who is willing to accept it. That’s our hope for health care, too."

'Lies They Tell Our Children' was recorded, produced, and mixed by Jon Lundin.

Anti-Flag Announce New Album "Lies They Tell Our Children" + Share "Laugh. Cry. Smile. Die." Video

ANTI-FLAG ANNOUNCE NEW ALBUM LIES THEY TELL OUR CHILDREN

ALBUM OUT JANUARY 6 VIA SPINEFARM

BAND SHARES "LAUGH. CRY. SMILE. DIE." FEAT. SILVERSTEIN'S SHANE TOLD — WATCH

Incendiary Pittsburgh punk rockers ANTI-FLAG will release their 13th album Lies They Tell Our Children on January 6 via Spinefarm. Pre-order it HERE.

Today, the quartet has shared "LAUGH. CRY. SMILE. DIE.," featuring Silverstein's Shane Told. Watch it below.

The video was lensed by INDECLINE Activist Art Collective

The song takes a deep, hard look at climate change. Click HERE for the lyrics and the essay behind the song.

"Look, this is our 13th album," the band declares. "There's no other way to put it; Lies They Tell Our Children is the best fucking version of Anti-Flag we have ever been. We haven't been afforded the privilege and ability to spend every day together writing and focusing on every detail of an album in well over a decade and I think you can feel that collaboration and collectiveness in these songs more than any other record of ours. That collaboration was only extrapolated on with the inclusion of the eight guests who are featured on the album, spanning genres, years of friendship, and a vast array of perspectives."

A-F continue, "The album itself is the first conceptual album the band has ever done, spawned out of a compulsive need to not just comment on the dystopian corporate wasteland we all face but to trace it back to the origin of this fate; the political policies, laws, cultural shifts, and lineage of injustice that have led us to the world we live in today."

The band finishes, "Like the band itself, of course the album is an anti-war statement both in the literal and figurative sense. This is an important moment in history and demands an urgent response, but we thought it was also important that we retrace our footsteps to the beginning of these issues. In order to better understand how to eradicate climate devastation, imperialism, war based economics, systems predicated upon racism, and the increasing belief that these things do not even exist, you have got to take people to the source. This idea is the crux of The Lies They Tell Our Children; put this wretched history in their face and demand their empathy."

As mentioned, the album features multiple notable guest appearances, including Rise Against's Tim McIlrath, Killswitch Engage's Jesse Leach, and more. Details are in the full track listing below.

Anti-Flag Announce Fall 2021 Tour Plans + Record Store Day Release Details

BAND TO RELEASE 20/20 DIVISION ON VINYL FOR RECORD STORE DAY ON JUNE 12

Anti-Flag have announced their return to the road and their Fall 2021 headline North American tour dates.

The first leg will kick off on September 14 in Grand Rapids, MI and run through October 14 in Vancouver. Support will come from Dog Party, Grumpster, and Oxymorrons. The second leg features Bad Cop/Bad Cop and Doll Skin. It kicks off on November 2 in Buffalo and runs through November 20 with the ANTIfest show in their native Pittsburgh. All dates are below. Tickets are available here.

"The last time Anti-Flag embarked on a North American tour, it lasted two days before COVID-19 brought it to an end," the band recalls. "After more than a year of challenges, hardships, and misfortune for many the world over, we are pleased to announce that we are hitting the road again. In the grand scheme of current events, this announcement is small but we also take it as an optimistic sign that life is slowly inching out of the pandemic and that gives us a cause to celebrate."

The band continues. "These shows will be a celebration of the fact that we have all come through a very hard time and pay respects to those lost over the past year. They will also be a gathering place for all who believe in and support equality, human rights, and those who stand against authoritarianism and fascism. In the wake of the past year, these issues are front and center, which makes our desire to connect with friends, allies, and accomplices even greater. There is power in connectivity and knowing that you are not alone. We want everyone who believes that Black Lives Matter, that neo-fascism has no place in this society, that LGBTQ+ people are free to be who they are, that war and war profiteering is morally reprehensible, and that capitalism is fucked, to walk away from these shows feeling re-energized for the struggles ahead and to know that they are, indeed, not alone and to keep up the good fight."

ANTI-FLAG RELEASE DIGITAL-ONLY DELUXE ALBUM 20/20 DIVISION

RELEASE SERVES AS DELUXE VERSION OF LATEST ALBUM 20/20 VISION

BEYOND THE BARRICADES: THE STORY OF ANTI-FLAG DOCUMENTARY DIGITALLY AVAILABLE NOW + ARRIVES ON DVD ON NOVEMBER 6

ANTI-FLAG released their twelfth album 20/20 Vision in January 2020 via Spinefarm Records. The band has just issued the digital-only, deluxe version of that album, titled 20/20 Division. It features five new songs and is available here.

"To say this year hasn't gone according to plan for anyone may be one of the greatest understatements of all time," the band states. "But through it all, the sadness that overwhelms in the world during a global pandemic, the constant pain American justice systems deliver on a daily basis, and the fear that comes along with watching our planet squeezed like a lemon for profit, we must actively choose optimism over cynicism."

The band furthers, "It's hard. It takes work. But if you look for it, hope is still there. In the face of neo-fascism, relentless police murder, the still-burning forests, people are becoming activated, taking note of those who perpetuate this pain, and standing on the side of freedom. This record was a warning of the path we were on — but with an underlining hope that this all could change. In an effort to continue to be a member of the countless activists, artists, and communities calling for social, racial, gender, economic, and environmental justice, we wanted to refresh our conversation with 20/20 Division and these five new songs."

Anti-Flag finish, "With the election looming, we have to remain vigilant. Voting is only a VERY SMALL act that we can participate in to reduce harm. But when partnered with strikes, boycotts, protests, and more, this is how WE WILL win and the soundtrack to it all just got a little larger."

In other Anti-Flag news, the band's Beyond the Barricades: The Story of Anti-Flag documentary is available now via Vimeo and Amazon. The DVD version arrives November 6. Get it here.

The film tells the story of political punk band Anti-Flag by diving into the world of punk rock and activism. It sheds light on the trials and tribulations of playing politically charged music for over 25 years. It's also an inspiring look at a group of musicians dedicating their lives to fighting for human rights through their songs and outreach. With their endless drive to help others, they put empathy over apathy and fight cynicism with optimism but find that things could go tragically wrong at any moment. The film features interviews with the band and contemporaries such as Tom Morello (Rage Against the Machine), Billy Bragg, Tim McIlrath (Rise Against), Brian Baker (Bad Religion), Chris Cresswell (The Flatliners, Hot Water Music), Tom May and Greg Barnett (The Menzingers), and many more help tell the story of a band whose drive to spread their message is truly unstoppable.

"It's hard to sum up the life of a band in an hour and a half," says frontmanJustin Sane. "We started Anti-Flag out of a passion for punk rock with the belief that punk music had the power to change people's lives and have a positive impact on the world. With this documentary, we hope people will see that while life may not be as straightforward as that idealistic philosophy, it isn't so far from the truth, either. Regardless of what others take from this film, for us, the experience of looking back on the history of Anti-Flag — sometimes good, sometimes bad, and sometimes unbelievable — leaves us grateful to have had the opportunity to live a very rare and at times extraordinary life as part of this punk rock band."
