It’s becoming apparent that Silver Sands Marina, Kenny Chesney’s 21st studio album and first for independent HEY NOW, sees the Country Music Hall of Famer hitting not just a new gear creatively, but connecting with fans on an even realer level. With “Carry On” becoming his 100th charting single and giving him the most Top 10s in the genre, the life-affirming midtempo summer anthem also struck a chord with radio as it became only the third song in history to close out all the reporting stations its first week.
As “Silver Sands Marina” established the power of one perfect encounter being enough, not clinging but appreciating what things are for the moment, the title track set a tone that suggests a map for how to live life as it comes, for all its worth, and with all the positive energy that’s defined his career. And on July 31, the East Tennessee songwriter-superstar will offer another taste of what’s to come on a project he’s personally labeling “an album.”
“Burn My Boat” starts as a ballad-leaning-midtempo strung across an acoustic guitar figure and his unadorned vocal, but quickly builds to a stunning crescendo that is thundering drums, a muscular melodic swoop and a triumphant sense of arrival. With an opening line of “This is one of those uncharted water things, never been where the grass don’t get more green… Think I love where I am,” the first track on Silver Sands Marina suggests that finding where we belong is a kind of freedom that is as much acceptance as it is actual location.
“This was always the first song,” Chesney says. “No matter how many sequences, adding those three songs, ‘Burn My Boat’ was the exact thing I wanted to say, and it’s in the chorus, recognizing ‘where I’m supposed to be’ is that sense of true arrival, knowing where you’re supposed to be. When you’re restless, and I am, there is no greater peace or freedom.
“Even more, ‘Burn My Boat’ wasn’t a song of surrender, but arrival. It builds and builds, like Lord Huron’s 'Ends of the Earth,' but what it delivers is what I think most of us are hoping to find. That line: Take this heart and light it/Send it up in smoke? It really is burning off all the things that distract us from what matters in this faster, harder, more world we deal with.”
Written by Nashville Songwriters Hall of Famer Casey Beathard, Tucker Beathard and Ryan Tyndall, “Burn My Boat” can be a love song, a life song, a work or chasing one’s dream song. “Whatever’s one’s truest passion is, when you find it, everything else falls into place and makes sense,” offers the man who just wrapped his second Sphere residency and named his No. 1 New York Times best-seller Heart Life Music.
For Chesney, who came of age as a songwriter at Acuff Rose Music Publishing, he brings a deep commitment to the music he releases. Silver Sands Marina raises the bar – in terms of what it says, the progressive and classic songs – for an artist with impossibly high standards. He will discuss the process, the decisions and what he hopes people will take way from the album when he returns to TalkShopLive July 30 at 7 p.m. ET. With a Sept. 25th release date, Silver Sands Marina draws ever closer. Pre-Save or Pre-Order HERE.
Symphonic Metal Legends KAMELOT Unveil Video for Grandiose New Single "Godlike Alchemy"
KAMELOT reveal the second single from their forthcoming masterpiece, Dark Asylum, out August 28 via Napalm Records.
The grandiose "Godlike Alchemy" emerges larger than life with its soaring string arrangements accompanying frontman Tommy Karevik's goosebump-inducing wails. Dynamically expansive and rhythmically infectious, the band flawlessly oscillates between ornate and brutal, with Thomas Youngblood wielding some serious melodic firepower in the solo and breakdown department. Biblical atmosphere with an anthemic chorus, "Godlike Alchemy" sees KAMELOT firing from all cylinders.
Singer Tommy Karevik on "Godlike Alchemy":
"This song encapsulates the overarching theme of the Dark Asylum. What if you don't need to look outside of yourself to find peace and happiness... What if you already possess the power you need to heal and create the reality you want to see? What if we are all magical, powerful beings with unlimited potential? It's a mind boggling thought..."
Pre-Order Your Copy Of Dark Asylum NOW.
Check out the official video for "Godlike Alchemy" Below:
Set within a shadowed Neo Victorian-era world, Dark Asylum invites listeners beyond the gates of RavenHill Asylum — an imposing institution once built as a grand cathedral, now repurposed into a place where science, faith, and madness uneasily coexist.
KAMELOT pushes further into cinematic and atmospheric territory on Dark Asylum, diving deeper into theatrical darkness while preserving the signature hooks that define their sound. Candlelight trembles along towering arches and cold stone corridors as you are greeted familiar spectres: Avantasia mastermind Tobias Sammet, Eluveitie's Lea-Sophie Fischer, Visions of Atlantis' Clémentine Delauney, Decessus frontwoman and current reigning Miss World Chile champion Ignacia Fernández, Rannveig Sif Sigurðardóttir and Sólveig Sara Leupold, and Billy King! Identity fractures, reality bends, and control slips into unseen hands, guiding its central figure through a descent into psychological darkness that ultimately leads toward transformation… and perhaps sanctuary. From the cinematic sweep of "Ashen World" to the introspective depth of "Sanctuary," and the layered mystique of "Ivy, My Dear," Dark Asylum unfolds as a fully immersive journey, blending orchestral grandeur, haunting melodies, and theatrical storytelling into one cohesive vision.
Will you find sanctuary?
Or will you wander its halls for eternity?

Eddie Skuller pays tribute to Tom Waits on 'You Can Never Hold Back Spring', teasing new EP
Jersey City singer-songwriter Eddie Skuller presents ‘You Can Never Hold Back Spring’, a fine rendition of one of Tom Waits’ most quietly affecting songs, revealing a gentler side of Waits’ catalog, where grit gives way to tenderness and reflection. Following ‘Downtown Train’, this is the second offering from his ‘Blind Love’ EP, bringing a raw, analog intimacy to these compositions, exploring the space between homage and reinvention.
This four-track personal tribute to Waits’ songwriting revisits a storyteller with a rare ability to capture human character, emotion and melody, as well as his ability to find beauty and humanity in unexpected places. With his own unique vocal style, Skuller performs ‘You Can Never Hold Back Spring’ with reverence, restraint and emotional intelligence, allowing the song’s emotional complexity to emerge through a delivery that favors intimacy over imitation.
In addition to his solo work, Skuller is a perennial guest vocalist with The Losers Lounge, the acclaimed tribute series curated by The Psychedelic Furs’ Joe McGintyand regularly held at Joe’s Pub and City Winery in NYC. His live performances have drawn praise for their authenticity, emotional clarity, and musical integrity.
For this EP, Skuller worked with producer Nick Kinsey, known for his work with Kevin Morby, Waxahatchee and Scott McMickey, who helped shape a recording that embraces the spontaneity and imperfections of analog production.
Skuller re-centers the songs around narrative and feeling, revealing layers of tenderness, nostalgia, and quiet hope. Captured without edits or vocal overdubs, the track preserves the spontaneity of the recording, with Skuller’s vocal captured live with the band. The arrangement also features Ryder Cooley of the Dust Bowl Faeries on accordion, Kinsey on drums and keyboards, Jack Skuller on guitars, and Jeremy Chatzky (Springsteen, Steve Earle, Ronnie Spector) on bass.
“What makes this recording experience unique for me is that it was recorded live in studio to tape. I wanted Nick Kinsey to produce because I was familiar with his aesthetic sensibilities and the warmth that analog recording can provide. The songs became meditative dirges and the lyrics read as pure poetry," says Eddie Skuller.
“There’s a key line in this song that hooks me every time I hear it: ‘even though you’ve lost your way, the world is dreaming, dreaming of spring. Using spring for a sense of renewal, hope, and a chance to reset—it’s as memorable and moving as any classic jazz-pop standard such as Sinatra’s ‘Young at Heart.’”
The music video grew out of a creative connection sparked through social media. Skuller discovered SPX ETC, founded by artist Sandrine Pagnoux and photographer/editor Sophie Etchart, after encountering Sandrine’s Tom Waits editorial work for 46pgs magazine. Skuller shares, “I followed them on Instagram with the thought that I’d someday have the opportunity to work with them”.
Ceating a dreamlike world blending collage, illustration, photography, typography, and animation, Sandrine developed the artwork using Sophie’s photography, while Sophie assembled and refined the final piece. Throughout the video, manipulated self-portraits of Skuller also appear through Sandrine’s distinctive approach. Pagnoux explains, “The lyrics are pure poetry. Joy, renewal and hope will always return after periods of darkness. Eddie’s emotional cover is magical and full of deep feelings.”
As of July 29th, 'You Can Never Hold Back Spring' is available everywhere digitally, including Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp, where 'Downtown Train' can also be found. The 'Blind Love' EP will be released on August 26th.

Dutch Black Metal Project BLACK DOOR Launches Pre-Orders, Unleashes Vampiric New Single, "Forged by Promethean Fire"
Dutch black metal solo artist BLACK DOOR is now unveiling yet another haunting, vampiric new single, "Forged by Promethean Fire." The haunting track is taken from the project's upcoming sophomore full-length, 'In the Shadows of a Funerary Gleam,' due on August 28 via Wolves of Hades. The song can be found below.
Additionally, pre-orders for 'In the Shadows of a Funerary Gleam' are now live via Wolves of Hades! The USA shop can be found HERE while the EU shop is available HERE.
BLACK DOOR mastermind and multi-instrumentalist Vestibulum comments, "Forging a conclusion out of the melancholic aestheticism I portrayed in this manifestation, 'Forged by Promethean Fire' looks ahead into the tempest of time, a future self-created in fiery fervour. The triumphant melodies embrace not only creativity, but also Pandoric curiosity, ridding it from the clutches of patriarchy."
Following the spectral path unveiled on its debut album, BLACK DOOR returns more fierce and haunting than ever before. 'In the Shadows of a Funerary Gleam,' a work steeped in nocturnal mysticism, sepulchral grandeur, and the lingering echoes of eons.
Following the spectral path unveiled on its debut album, Black Door returns more fierce and
haunting than ever before. 'In the Shadows of a Funerary Gleam,' a work steeped in nocturnal mysticism, sepulchral grandeur, and the lingering echoes of eons.
In the 'Shadows of a Funerary Gleam' delves further into the dimensions between life and death, nostalgia and oblivion. From the spectral procession of it’s haunting introduction to the Promethean revelations that conclude the album, these compositions unfold as chapters of a singular journey through the funerary mist of forgotten kingdoms inhabited by restless specters
Drawing inspiration from the black legions and vampiric romanticism, Black Door refuses to be confined by simple nostalgia. Beneath its veil of blackened melancholy lies a flame that illuminates both as a beacon and warning; a fading light that guides the listener through stale humid mists, crepuscular awakenings, lamentations of dying ages, and confrontations with powers older than mankind itself. Whether invoking liches wrested from mortality, ancient celestial names whispered from the abyss, or the tragic gift of Promethean fire, Black Door weaves together a mythology of spiritual yearning and cosmic resignation.
To be released by Wolves of Hades on August 28 on LP, CD, MC & Digital, 'In the Shadows of a Funerary Gleam' stands as a fully realized expression of the project's evolving vision, one that balances haunting melody, strife, nocturnal atmosphere, and triumphant darkness with a reverence for the mysterious and the eternal.

Green Carnation Perform Prog Miracle on New Single “The Messiah Complex”
After reaching crushing new peaks and delving into the deepest, darkest and most personal depths of their storied career during its opening chapters, the Norwegian prog bards Green Carnation are ending their critically-acclaimed album trilogy with a bold and uncompromising exclamation.
“A Dark Poem is by far our biggest achievement since Light of Day, Day of Darkness”, Green Carnation vocalist Kjetil Nordhus. “Our new album trilogy returns to the epic storytelling that put us on the map back in 2001. While the reception to Part I and Part II has been overwhelmingly positive for us, we do believe that Part III saves the best for last”.
Today, Green Carnation are releasing the title track as the second advanced single from A Dark Poem, Part III: The Messiah Complex. By performing a prog miracle, trilogy highlight “The Messiah Complex” reveals a dark truth about human nature.
“The title track from Part III of A Dark Poem is about our need to find external excuses for our behavior”, Green Carnation bassist and primary lyricist Stein Roger Sordal says. “This is nothing new, but with our uncritical way of working with our increasingly digital world, we seem unable to cope with the consequences of our actions”.
“‘The Messiah Complex’ is a standout song in the trilogy”, Nordhus adds. “The vibe to this song is quite unique for us, but it doesn’t take long to recognize that it is still very much a Green Carnation song. Bjørn’s guitar work lifts the song up, together with Jonathan’s drumming and, of course, Stein Roger’s bass and vocals during the bridge”.

A Dark Poem, Part III: The Messiah Complex comes out September 4, 2026 on Season of Mist.

SEA SLEEPER Release "Burden Of Antlers" With Guitar Playthrough, Launch Vinyl Pre-Orders For New Album Burden of Antlers
Ahead of their forthcoming second full-length album, Oregon's SEA SLEEPER present the new single and title track "Burden of Antlers". Accompanied with a guitar playthrough video, the band showcase their diverse and creative musicality. Burden of Antlers is scheduled for release on September 18, 2026, and is now available to pre-order on vinyl.
Contained within the collection of styles explored throughout "Burden of Antlers" are moments of untamable brutality. Describing the musical arrangement, the band state that "Burden of Antlers" "dances between tar thick mud and a clear crisp dawn morning lake."
Lyrically, "Burden of Antlers" holds personal meaning for lead vocalist and guitarist Jesse Cooley. Notably, the band draw attention to the song's lines: “Your heart flashed with floodlights” and “But I’m here and I don’t care you gave them your blood and let them keep us as two”.
SEA SLEEPER has refined the creative direction of their sound in Burden of Antlers. Leaning into the eclectic, 'weird', and, ultimately, heavy, the band focus on developing riffs and motifs across the track list, resulting into a more cohesive and thematically linked full-length offering.
Burden of Antlers was recorded at Sleeping Studio by Jesse Cooley and Shane Cooley. The album was produced, mixed and mastered by Jesse Cooley, with the cover artwork created by Johnny P.

Australian Hard Rockers AIRBOURNE Release New Single "Here She Comes" - Co-Written with Mutt Lange & Bryan Adams
When you're making an album that offers a 21-gun salute to hard rock’s proud past, its history and its heart, it makes perfect sense to align with writers and producers who have played a key role in championing the music worldwide, and who continue to do so.
Highly fitting, therefore, that AIRBOURNE’s latest single, "Here She Comes," out today, should and was co-written with Bryan Adams & Mutt Lange – names responsible for hundreds of millions of sales and for creating some of rock’s most revered and timeless releases, the likes of ‘Reckless’ and ‘Waking Up The Neighbours’ (global chart-toppers for Adams, the latter No. 1 in 11 different countries), and ‘Back In Black’ and ‘Hysteria’ (seminal albums produced by Lange for AC/DC and Def Leppard respectively, game-changers for the genre as a whole).
Watch the Visualizer for "Here She Comes" Below:
Add in the talents of producer Brian Howes (who helmed 2013’s ‘Black Dog Barking’ for AIRBOURNE), engineer Mike Fraser (who worked on 2010’s ‘No Guts. No Glory’ & 2016’s ‘Breakin’ Outta Hell’), mixing engineer Zakk Cervini (BMTH, Architects, Evanescence) and mastering legend Ted Jensen, and you have a track – Single 5 from the forthcoming self-titled studio album, out September 4th via Spinefarm – that manages to both box and charm the ears at the same time.
First there was do-or-die anthem ‘Gutsy’, then ‘Christmas Bonus’ (“Ho-ho-ho – let’s go!”), then ‘Alive After Death (Last Plane Out)’, officially No. 1 at German Rock Radio, and most recently ‘Kid In A Candy Store’, a rite-of-passage rocker in the spirit of AC/DC’s "Whole Lotta Rosie"; and now, blowing in hard on a festival-ready chorus and enough full-blooded ‘woahs’ to lift an arena roof or part the lower clouds, there’s ‘Here She Comes’, complete with guitar solo cranked high in the mix for maximum shoulder-straddling impact.
Lyrics like, "Here she comes, raising a hurricane, there she goes blowing my mind" might sound like they’re about one of vocalist/guitarist Joel O’Keeffe’s favourite subjects, women – which, to be fair, they are – but they also nod to the tropical storm that bore down on Music Farm Studio in Byron Bay, south-eastern Australia, as AIRBOURNE were recording, adding to a list of tribulations topped up by dangerous, potentially lethal wild-life and uncooperative vintage gear.
“It was like a hurricane came through,” recalls drummer Ryan O’Keeffe. “I remember screaming, ‘Get away from the windows!’ Streetie [bassist Justin Street] was sleeping in an old bus outside the studio, and a tree fell right next to it and almost crushed him!”
Adds brother Joel: “That’s how the song came about. It’s just out of this storm that blew in. Everyone was sitting there going, ‘Here she comes!’ Then we flipped it, and it became a bit of a double entendre. It’s so much fun.”
When AIRBOURNE – brothers Joel and Ryan O'Keeffe (vocals/guitar and drums, respectively), bassist Justin Street, and guitarist Brett Tyrrell – entered Music Farm Studioin southeastern Australia to record their new album, they effectively drew a line in the Byron Bay sand. The mission was clear: to create not only the greatest body of work in the AIRBOURNE canon ("Real blockbuster sh*t!," to echo their own words), but to scale the highest possible peak – shirtless, naturally, in true AIRBOURNE style – in the name of hard rock; to break new ground, defend the territory won by the heroes who came before them, and strengthen and celebrate the sacred bond with rock fans around the world.
In short, go forth and GET GUTSY!
Ryan: “This record distils everything we stand for into one place. Everything we love. It’s the best album we could possibly have made.”
“Everything we are as a band, our heart and soul, is in this record,” confirms Joel.
‘Airbourne’ is The Album, the statement recording, that only one band could have created; for proud sons of Warrnambool, Joel and Ryan, it was all about stepping up to the mighty task, staunchly protecting their beliefs and keeping the vision alive – no compromise, no corners cut, still no ballads (or bullshit); and if that meant staring down deadly snakes and even deadlier super-sized spiders, then so be it. Bring it on, Big Boy!
‘Airbourne’. Made with passion. Made in Australia. The Great Barrier Riff.

Guitarist Eric Steckel Announces "Sandstorm" Out 9/11 + Shares "She's a Goldigger"
Internationally acclaimed blues-rock guitarist, singer, and songwriter Eric Steckel has announced the release of his brand-new studio album Sandstorm on September 11 via OPEN/SPV Recordings.
To coincide with the album announcement, Steckel has released "She’s A Golddigger" — another glimpse into the new album. Stream the single and pre-order the album here.
Watch the video below.
"'She's a Golddigger' is just plain fun," comments Eric Steckel. "It was one of the songs that I just couldn't wait to record for this album and I can't wait for you guys to hear it. The lyrics are just hilarious, very relatable, especially to those who are musicians or in the arts. But even if you're not, I think you'll get a kick out of this song."
In an era where pedalboards, laptops, and samples have become commonplace, American blues rock/metal guitarist and singer Eric Steckel goes against the grain and harkens his listeners back to the days when great guitars were played loudly through great amps. Hailed by many as the top rising star of blues and rock, Steckel delivers a powerhouse performance that has left audiences in 30 countries (and counting) mesmerized.
Steckel has toured worldwide, sharing the billing with Steve Vai, Gregg Allman, Johnny Winter, John Mayall, Ray Charles, Larry Carlton, Robben Ford, and others, and was voted into Total Guitar magazine's list of "The 100 Greatest Blues Guitarists of All Time."
"My forthcoming new album, Sandstorm is the most fun I've had making a record in my career thus far," comments Steckel. "The incredible vibe in the studio brought forth tons of new and spontaneous material such as the title track 'Sandstorm,' which instantly became my favorite track on this album and a perfect representation of this body of work."

The Noise Who Runs shares 'The Summer Talking' - an anthem of Love, Lies & Climate Denial (from the 'Re: GenX' album)
Alternative pop artist The Noise Who Runs presents 'The Summer Talking', the third singls from his latest (and now acclaimed) 'Re: GenX' album, which is both a reckoning and a response from within a generation that inherited progress, equality, and expanding liberty, but failed to defend them when they came under threat.
Built around the repeated refrain, “It’s just the summer talking”, the song explores the promises we make when sunshine, nostalgia and hope temporarily blur our view of reality. Balancing melancholic indie-pop with widescreen alternative rock, it follows dreams of escape, new beginnings and forever as they gradually reveal themselves to be fragile seasonal illusions. Beneath the relationship story lies a wider reflection on the comforting stories we tell ourselves—about love, our lives and the future itself.
The Noise Who Runs is songwriter, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Ian Pickering of Sneaker Pimps (for whom he co-authored such hits as 'Spin Spin Sugar', '6 Underground' and 'Tesko Suicide') and also known for his work with Front Line Assembly). After relocating from Hartlepool in the north-east of England to Lille, France, 2023 brought his ‘Preteretrospective’ album, followed by 2024's ‘Come and Join the Beautiful Army’ EP, both met with rave reviews and airplay in more than 60 countries.
“This song is about love, memory and self-deception, but also about a culture that keeps choosing short-term comfort over uncomfortable truths. Whether it’s a relationship, a dream of somewhere better, or believing just one more summer holiday comes without consequence, we become very good at telling ourselves what we want to hear," says Ian Pickering.
The accompanying video develops those themes into a meditation on tourism and the climate crisis. Holiday imagery and idyllic landscapes become symbols of a world determined to preserve familiar comforts while the environmental emergency continues to accelerate.
Ian shares, “The video isn’t against holidays or people wanting to escape. It’s about why governments still refuse to treat the climate crisis with the urgency it demands. Most people want meaningful action on climate change and inequality, yet the biggest polluters continue to behave as though different rules apply to them. If we’re serious about protecting the future, governments have to lead, and the super-rich can no longer be exempt from the sacrifices expected of everyone else.”
Mixed and mastered by Colin C at The Cell Studio, 'Re: GenX documents a civilization caught in a downward spiral. Framing systemic greed, perpetual warfare, and the erosion of human dignity as the foundational mechanics of a world engineered for its own ruin, this album assesses society fueled by the interests of the elite, leaving behind a singular, urgent uncertainty.
Framed by the cultural optimism of late-1980s youth and the 1990s second summer of love, the album questions how a generation defined by scepticism, freedom, and possibility became comfortable with inaction as those gains were slowly dismantled and how scepticism hardened into detachment, irony replaced action, and silence came to feel like neutrality. Rather than nostalgia, it offers a critique of passivity: what happens when a generation knows better, but does nothing.
“This album is a reply to my own generation — what it stood for, what it stayed silent for, and how it enjoyed progress and liberty without doing much to protect any of it when it actually mattered. But it’s beyond generations, it’s humanity, society - it’s a class war, always has been — and the powerful rely on fear and division to stop people recognising that, even when we know all the tricks,” says Ian Pickering.
Across the record, exhaustion, outrage, and repetition form a recurring loop. Political failure, cultural denial, and performative morality are examined not as abstract forces, but as habits — things learned, tolerated, and repeated. The album resists slogans and solutions, instead holding up a mirror to complicity, comfort, and collapse. Re: Gen X doesn’t ask to be forgiven; it asks to be examined — and leaves open the question of whether awareness, this time, will finally lead to action.
'Just The English Way' is a sharp, darkly witty slice of commentary on English identity, exposing how politeness and tradition can mask deeper social and political fractures. 'Commercial Road' dissects a world where everything is for sale — bodies, truths, and even outrage itself. 'The Bodies Are Under The Bus Again' is an anti-war song and 'Bang Bang' captures the psychic exhaustion of life lived inside permanent crisis mode, where outrage replaces thought and reaction supercedes responsibility.
The "Re: GenX" album is out now via TNWR Records, available everywhere, including Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp.

About AGNOSTIC FRONT:
Founded in 1982, AGNOSTIC FRONT stand among the most esteemed pioneers of the hardcore genre. No band comes close in sonic and socio authenticity and sincerity, where the struggles of survival on the streets have quite literally given life to a sound that remains as impactful today as it was over four decades ago. AGNOSTIC FRONT‘s battering, socially critical sounds serve as the foundation of true New York hardcore and helped initiate the emergence of crossover thrash. Following a slew of pummeling offerings, the band, led by the inimitable roar of Roger Miret and Vinnie Stigma's legendary charismatic guitar playing, continue to showcase unapologetically honest lyrics and signature aggression in Echoes in Eternity.

Insomnium Descend Into Darkness With "Gleam in the Black" Video
Finland's undisputed masters of melancholy INSOMNIUM are unveiling their latest single and video "Gleam in the Black," offering an even deeper descent into darkness and the shadowy realms beyond. Blending haunting melodies with crushing heaviness, the track captures the essence of the band's signature sound while exploring the emotional depths that define their upcoming album.
Vocalist/bassist Niilo Sevänen comments, "Being one of the faster songs on the new album, this is a track that should get the crowd moving when played live. It definitely carries a classic INSOMNIUM spirit. The lyrics tell a dark and mysterious love story, capturing the mood and atmosphere of the entire album. We are doomed to wander the nightly woods, searching for something lost long ago, something we can reach only in our dreams. That single gleam of light amidst the blackness."
Atmospheric, powerful, and deeply evocative, "Gleam in the Black" serves as another glimpse into the album's haunting world, where beauty and despair walk hand-in-hand.

NYC art-rock provocateurs ECCE SHNAK debut gloriously unhinged 'Eddie, Legalistic Homeslice'
NYC art-rockers Ecce Shnak present 'Eddie, Legalistic Homeslice', the second single from their full-length album “Dandy Variances", anticipated later this year via Records, Man Records. Recorded and produced by Jeff Lucci, this single was mixed by Grammy award-winning producer Mario McNulty (David Bowie, Prince, Nine Inch Nails, Julian Lennon),
Formed in the mid-1990s and forged in NYC's experimental scene, Ecce Shnak (pronounced Eh-kay sh-knock) is made up of David Roush (composer, bassist and baritone vocalist), Bella Komodromos (vocals), Chris Krasnow (guitar), Gannon Ferrell (guitar), and Henry Buchanan-Vaughn (drums).
An ode to camaraderie, 'Eddie' reaches its lyrical denouement with what may be the “oldest prayer of friendship", but sounds like a throwaway Rivers Cuomo line: “I pray you don’t be a rat in a rat-suit! Pray you don’t be a rat in a rat-costume!”
"Like 'Larry, Sleepover Friend' from our 2019 'Joke Oso' EP, our new song is a garage-rock homage to a beloved friend of mine. Like 'Larry', 'Eddie' explores big themes in great friendships: their gnarly ambivalences, their absurd misunderstandings, their inside-jokes, and their contradictory mix of irreverence with utmost care," says David Roush.
"We are also overjoyed to feature two great friends as the co-stars of the music video, the preposterously funny and talented comedic duo Syd and Olivia! I was lucky to have met these two pugnaciously podcasting, thoughtfully Thespian, joke-slinging YouTube yokels on a fantastic journey to the Greek island of Crete two years ago, and the rest was thirst’ory."
Bella Komodromos adds, "They absolutely kicked butt at their roles in this Wes-Anderson-hued buddy-comedy music video, directed and produced by DJay Brawner. It is our ardent hope that all fans of Ecce Shnak and Syd and Olivia alike can shart out with their hearts out to this badass collaboration!"
Apart from directing and editing the new video with Brooks Jones, Beth Narducci and David Roush, Brawner also worked on the video for the album's lead track 'Vincent', an homage to superb music videos of yesteryear - for Meshuggah’s “Bleed” and 311's “Down”. Here, operatic trills collide with frantic rock energy in a high-decibel takedown ofa formulaic antagonist through the power of one's own voice.
Ecce Shnak's music a volatile yet meticulously crafted ecosystem, where technical precision meets inspired mayhem. Their 2025 'Shadows Grow Fangs' EP was recorded and produced by Jeff Lucci, mixed by Nicholas Vernhes (Animal Collective, Deerhunter, Wild Nothing, War on Drugs) and mastered by Grammy award-winning engineer Joe LaPorta (David Bowie, The Weeknd, Foo Fighters, Vampire Weekend).
Ecce Shnak recently wrapped up their UK tour with EMF after featuring on EMF's stellar single 'LGBTQ+ Lover' and joint East coast / Midwest tour. That video was filmed during their 2025 West coast tour, along with Spacehog.
'Eddie, Legalistic Homeslice'is out now, available from digital music platforms, includingSpotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp.

TEMIC Announce Mighty and Magical Second Album 'Ceiba'
From the moment they joined forces, TEMIC appeared as a dream come true for prog fans everywhere. The international supergroup features current and former members of Devin Townsend, Mike Portnoy’s Shattered Fortress, Neal Morse Band, Haken, Shining, Maraton and Big City. The group’s chart-topping debut lived up to the hype, but on their upcoming new album, Ceiba, they’ve grown by leaps and bounds.
Today, TEMIC are officially announcing the mighty and magical Ceiba with a soul-stirring video for the album’s lead single. While rattled by the encroaching shadow of death, “Ceased To Be” positively ascends by crossing the threshold between progressive metal, pop and hard rock.
“Ceiba is a concept album about loss in all its various forms”, TEMIC says. “While more progressive than our first album, the songs are driven by honesty and emotions. ‘Ceased To Be’ is told from the perspective of someone who’s dying, while surrounded by their loved ones. Death is not feared nor resisted. Rather, it is observed as a sacred rite of passage”.
Watch the music video for “Ceased To Be” below:
Ceiba comes out October 2, 2026 on Season of Mist
Pre-order
The video for “Ceased To Be” was directed by Cesar Mendiburu. It was filmed in the Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico, beneath a Ceiba tree and inside a cenote, where Ah Puch, the Mayan god of death, welcomes a woman to the afterlife.
“Since the moment I received the invitation to be a part of ‘Cease To Be’, I felt an immediate calling to say yes”, actress Anna Kirse says. “Representing all the joy and pain of life, its transformation after death, and the relief of letting go in absolute surrender resonated with me immediately. It was a beautiful artistic challenge”.
“Filming the underwater scenes was a profound experience for me as well. It required me to face my own fear of disappearing beneath the water. Surrendering to the unknown and trusting that I was safe became a significant moment of growth for me. Every day of filming was filled with magic, creativity, genuine collaboration and incredible team spirit. I am deeply grateful, truly happy and very proud to be part of this video”.

No matter how deep Ceiba digs into philosophical terrain, TEMIC continue to branch out in all directions both literally and figuratively. The album treats loss not as an end but as one more step along life’s path. “Your soul will never die”, assures lead single “Ceased To Be”, which crosses between prog’s technical sorcery and pop’s divine melodies with relative ease thanks to shrewd guidance from the group’s newest member and bassist Miguel Pereira (Withem, Big City). Supported by swaying leads, towering cleans and firm groove, 10-minute closer “As Long As We Last” promises to stay with us long after its final epic solo.
“We wrote this album together with contributions from all five members”, the band says. “We allowed ourselves to explore the songs and really extend ourselves while always keeping the emotions at the front of our minds”.

FROZEN CROWN Release New Single "Reborn" + Video! — WATCH + LISTEN
Italian heavy power metal band FROZEN CROWN share the second single from their upcoming album, The Legend of the Six Kings, out October 2 via Napalm Records. "Reborn" is a powerful anthem of steadfastness as well as a bolstering tale about team spirit, perfectly encompassing the more narrative approach the band takes with their new album. With infinitely catchy "Reborn." FROZEN CROWN also show magnificent instrumental abilities through a majestic guitar solo.
Drummer Niso Tomasini about "Reborn":
"'Reborn' continues the narrative arc begun with 'The One,' with bright light manifesting a rebirth after dark. As Samwise Gamgee said, 'Even darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines, it will shine out the clearer.' On this track, vocalist Giada 'Jade' Etro's voice takes some melancholic shades in the verses that find a great contrast in the powerful and cheerful anthemic choruses, running on a more straightforward, hard-and-heavy-inspired rhythm. In the video clip, our director Raoul Noise captured the band’s new dark fantasy aesthetic on a clear white background, embracing the theme of frost while keeping FROZEN CROWN’s signature live-performance approach, showing the energy and the alchemy between the band members."
Watch the Official Music Video for "Reborn" Below:
FROZEN CROWN about The Legend of the Six Kings:
"With our sixth album—our second on Napalm Records—we continue our search for the quintessential FROZEN CROWN tune, distilling the key elements of our sound and style into increasingly concise and straightforward songs, stripping away all unnecessary frills.
"The Legend of the Six Kings draws directly from our debut album The Fallen King, continuing the saga of the Kings and the Tyrant, as we are—thanks to a brilliant newly extended team—finally able to do justice to what we had in mind with the original concept of the band. The visionary genius of Raoul Noise (the video maker behind all our new videos and band photos), the masterful craftsmanship of Daria Gislon (who designed and built the throne and the literal 'frozen crown') and of course the outstanding artistic talent of Sheila Franco (who hand painted our album cover art) gave life to the vibrant, obscure, frozen world we had in mind since the very beginning of the band, somewhere between J. R. R. Tolkien’s harmonious and regal aesthetics and Robert E. Howard's brutality.
"The Legend of the Six Kings brings not only new visuals, but also an empowered sound, with the young war hearts getting older on the battlefield and becoming an increasingly leading force of the Crown (with drummer and multi-instrumentalist Niso Tomasini becoming a more integral part of the songwriting together with singer Giada 'Jade' Etro and mastermind Federico Mondelli) and new warriors joining our ranks (Aleksandra Stamenkovic and her scorching, old school, abrasive guitar leads).
This sixth album depicts the strength of our six band members, and our personal idea of Power Metal infused in ten catchy tracks touching the most varied nuances of the genre, from raw and uncompromising Speed Metal, to the sumptuous magniloquence of Symphonic Metal, to the occasional linear chaos of Melodic Death Metal, but always sounding as FROZEN CROWN as ever!"

JOAN AS POLICE WOMAN radiates on "Feed The Light" from new "Real Life Evolutio" album
Iconic NYC artist Joan As Police Woman presents 'Feed The Light', a highlight track from her new 'Real Life Evolution' album, released via UK label Reveal Records. She says, "Songs live beyond their creators. Like us, they settle into themselves over time, finding their own equilibrium. That spirit is the pulse of this new album — ten reimagined versions of every song from the original 'Real Life'".
She also shares the video for the 'Feed The Light (Real Life Anniversary Sessions)', the latest from series, recorded by Adam Sachs at The Owl Music Parlor in Brooklyn and filmed by Ehud Lazin.
The album version differs markedly with Joan playing Fender Rhodes as her chosen instrument, while the video finds her blissfully at home on bass guitar. Recorded by Danny Blume at Hidden Quarry Studios in Bearsville, NY, the album version involves long-term collaborators Thomas Bartlett (Rhodes bass) and Parker Kindred (drums and vocals). In the video version, Joan is joined by Jeremy Gustin on drums and Will Graefe on guitar and vocals.
Joan has also announced February 2027 dates for her 'Real Life 20th Anniversary Tour', complimenting her November 2026 dates, bringing her to UK, Italy, Germany, France and The Netherlands. Performing her debut 'Real Life' album as a trio, shows will also include song from her catalogue, fan favourites, deep cuts and many surprises
Joan Wasser, known as Joan As Police Woman since 2004, is a critically acclaimed musician and producer, and a sought-after collaborator, dubbed “the coolest woman in pop” (The Times) and “one of the 21st century’s best musicians” (The Economist). As a singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, her music defies easy categorization, crafting her own sound that blends various genres.
‘I wrote this song to survive a tour. I was stuck in a van with a friend who was slowly driving me out of my mind. I kept reaching for compassion — genuinely, I tried — but every generous thought had a way of circling straight back to fantasies of duct tape," says Joan Wasser.
"The arrangement came together with Parker Kindred during a massive blizzard in upstate New York. I wanted to break free from the guitar riff the song was born on and find something with more lift to it. I started playing a line on the Rhodes and sang to that instead — and something opened up. Parker adds his voice to the track as well, and I got happily lost in the vintage synths. Thomas Bartlett is magnificent on Rhodes bass; he absolutely tears it apart in the best possible way."
Joan also recently shared the 'Real Life (Real Life Anniversary Sessions)', confessing “I wrote this song to romance a man. We met once for 3 minutes and I had decided he was The One. Bear in mind, this is ages ago. Conveniently, we lived 6000 miles apart.... I brazenly put his name in the song. Unsurprisingly it didn’t work out between us. But the song did." This follows stripped-down trio-format versions of 'Eternal Flame', 'Flushed Chest', 'The Ride', 'Anyone' and 'I Defy'.
Unveiled exactly 20 years from her debut's release, Joan As Police Woman has reimagined her 'Real Life' album with numerous guests. Through countless performances, these renditions are brought to life by the brilliance of the players who helped define their sound. The result is ten stunning tracks with varied flavours and collaborators.

VENTANA and DEADLY APPLES Team Up for the "Saints of Sickness Tour" Across North America This November
Industrial metal bands Ventana and Deadly Apples are teaming up this November for the Saints of Sickness Tour, an 18-date run across the United States and Canada.
Cleveland-based Ventana, founded by Richard "Stitch" Thomas (Mushroomhead, Crossbreed, A Killer’s Confession) and Daniel Fox (Mushroomhead, Dope, Wednesday 13), have spent more than two decades carving out their place in the industrial metal scene, earning a reputation for highly entertaining live shows. The band has toured alongside acts including Fear Factory, Dope, Mindless Self Indulgence, Hellyeah, Static-X, Powerman 5000, Hed PE and The Birthday Massacre, while also performing on select dates of the Mayhem Festival. Ventana recently unveiled their latest single and music video, "Iron Over Blood."
Montreal's Deadly Apples have toured throughout North America, South America, Europe and Japan supporting artists such as Marilyn Manson, Rob Zombie, Korn, Deftones and Rammstein, while also appearing at major festivals such as Hellfest, Knotfest and the Vans Warped Tour. Renowned for their intense, high-energy and chaotic live performances, the band continues to build momentum with their single "Volatile," featuring Richard Patrick (Filter) and Danny Lohner (Nine Inch Nails), which has surpassed one million streams. The song's accompanying music video was selected for the Berlin Music Video Awards.
Special guest Aeternum will appear on all dates. The female-fronted band recently released their new single, "Knives at Midnight," and blends elements of electro, pop and metal. Aeternum has toured with acts including A Killer’s Confession and Dogma.
