Green Carnation Seize the Moment on New Single “I Am Time”

Three decades into a storied career, Green Carnation continue to stand the test of time. Just last year, the Norwegian prog bards reached crushing new highs during the grand and gloomy opening chapter of their long-awaited album trilogy. Now, as the band descend into deeper, darker and more personal depths on Part II of A Dark Poem, they are breaking past the surface with the album’s emotional peak.

Today, Green Carnation are releasing the second advanced single from A Dark Poem, Part II: Sanguis. While awash with melancholy over the past, “I Am Time” seizes the moment with the band’s unwavering control and raw emotions.

“‘I Am Time’ is one of the songs from the forthcoming A Dark Poemalbum trilogy that discusses the fragile nature of our lives”, Green Carnation vocalist Kjetil Nordhus says. “We do not have control over time. We should try and live in the here and now, before suddenly, it’s too late”.

ACIDOSIS Release New Single “Tied To The Tracks” From Upcoming Album Arrival

Crossover thrash band ACIDOSIS have released their new single, “Tied To The Tracks,” taken from the upcoming full-length album Arrival, arriving March 27, 2026.

“Tied To The Tracks” traces back to the earliest origins of ACIDOSIS. The song was first written in 10th grade after the band’s frontman was kicked out of a friend’s band, channeling feelings of betrayal, confusion, and emotional fallout into what became the first fully realized ACIDOSIS song. A homemade music video for the track unexpectedly went viral on MySpace, helping build a grassroots cult following throughout Florida during the band’s formative years.

The track delivers a direct punch of crossover thrash energy driven by speed, precision, and raw emotion. The opening riff spins up with mounting tension before launching into a relentless climb of shredding guitars and driving momentum. Lyrically, the song explores the moment when trust collapses and emotions shift from shock to acceptance, capturing the realization that there is no turning back.

Influenced by classic thrash songwriting and fueled by a massive, chant-ready chorus, “Tied To The Tracks” remains a live favorite during the band’s Florida performances, where crowds continue to shout along to its arena-sized refrain.

Arrival marks the band’s next chapter and will be released worldwide on March 27, 2026.

Arrival is a full-length album nearly 20 years in the making. Originally drafted during Ben Katzman’s teenage years, the songs have been brought back to life by a re-formed ACIDOSIS lineup featuring Katzman on bass and vocals, Diego Edsel, Deo Budnevich, and Jonathan Rusten on guitars, and Harry Schwarz on drums. Jah Wobble & Jon Klein present scathing single 'Who Wins?' ahead of ‘Automated Paradise' LP

Previewing their new 'Automated Paradise' album, Jah Wobble (Public Image Ltd) and guitarist Jon Klein (Siouxsie & The Banshees, Specimen) reveal the fire-buster 'Who Wins?', a song about distrust — about the growing sense that the grand halls of power have become echo chambers of empty promises. The question echoes long after the final note fades — we probably wouldn't like the answer.

The title itself acts as a refrain and a provocation. Who wins? Not answered outright, the song understands something important: the most powerful question in politics is often the one that leaves the listener finishing the sentence themselves. Less of a statement and more like a mirror, this song fits squarely inside the long lineage of protest music. Songs that capture a moment when the atmosphere shifts — when dissatisfaction becomes a chorus and the private complaint becomes public noise.

'Automated Paradise' is Wobble & Klein's third collaborative record and also their debut album as a duo with Dimple Discs, previewed by the motorik lead track ‘Fading Away’, pulsating with the raw electrical tension of British post-punk and new wave. These two legends first combined forces on the 'Metal Box – Rebuilt In Dub' album in 2021, they continue to collaborate live and in the studio.

"'Who Wins?' is a good old protest song, pointing fingers and making a racket! It was a bass line that turned into a metal riff. The noisier songs on this album tend to reflect on today’s information overload, where there’s no security, and people are becoming more polemic and stressed, but there seems to be a thread of hope that truth and justice will maybe prevail," says Jon Klein.

"Working with Jah Wobble is always an inspiring experience. When I started working with him in recording sessions, he often quoted the words of Holger Czukay, the bass player of German band Can: “First we play, then afterwards we talk! We like to make things happen in the moment. Often we complete a working draft to a piece of music from scratch in a few hours.”

Jah Wobble adds, "The music comes from that silent place. It’s pre-existing. You just allow it to flow...  Proper post punk. Angry and humorous. Okay, it’s the end of civilisation. But nothing lasts forever right? We shouldn’t take it to heart."

This is Jah Wobble’s first post-punk album in recent years, these brash guitar-driven tracks reflecting his preoccupation with the declining state of the nation. Driven by his weekly experience with Klein, working at the "Tuned In" music community project in Merton, this record recalls the spirit of Mark Stewart - angry in an empathetic, constructive way. The lyrical content mainly came together on the spot in the studio.

This album follows two 2025 albums for Wobble -  ‘Dub Volume 1' (Dimple Discs) and the expanded reissue of the 2017 album 'The Usual Suspects', featuring 25 career highlights, re-recorded and including some of Wobble’s finest material, alongside tracks by Invaders Of The Heart and PiL.

Guitarist and producer Jon Klein was a member of Siouxsie and the Banshees from 1987 until 1994 (the 'Peepshow', 'Superstition' and 'The Rapture' era). Originally in the Bristol band Europeans, he then formed the glam-goth act Specimen and relocated to London, where he co-founded The Batcave nightclub. He has worked with Talvin Singh and Sinéad O'Connor, and co-produced a string of No. 1 albums for Warner-signed Fangoria, fueling a decade-long streak of chart-topping success in Spain. 

Born John Wardle, bassist and vocalist Jah Wobble is from East London. An original member of Public Image Ltd (PiL) from 1978-80, he made two seminal albums with the band, including the iconic ‘Metal Box’. Wobble formed Invaders of the Heart in 1982, collaborating with Can's Holger Czukay, Jaki Liebezeit, U2's The Edge and producer François Kevorkian. By the 1990s, he was well known, had chart success and a Mercury Music Prize nomination for the album ‘Rising Above Bedlam'. After releasing the top-40 album ‘Take Me To God’ and then ‘Heaven and Earth' via Island Records, Wardle fled record company constraints to more experimental recordings.

Wobble has collaborated with Sinéad O’Connor, Massive Attack, Ginger Baker, Björk, Brian Eno and Pharoah Sanders, was part of the supergroup The Damage Manual, worked with Julie Campbell aka LoneLady on ‘Psychic Life’, and with his wife Zi Lan Liao on the album ‘Chinese Dub, winning the Songlines Magazine World Music Award. He also plays and records with his sons Charlie and John Wardle in Tian Qiyi.  2024 brought his 'Timeless Roots' album with Horace Andy, followed by 2025's 'Old Fashioned Ways' album with Jamaica's Ken Boothe. Wobble played on Richard Russell’s album ‘Everything is Recorded' (notably ‘Losing You’ feat. Sampha).

Wobble published his autobiography ‘Memoirs of a Geezer: Music, Life, Mayhem’ via Serpent’s Tail in 2009, following his 2008 radio documentary on Sid Vicious for BBC Radio 3. 30 Hertz Records, the independent label Wobble launched in 1997, still releases music in collaboration with Cherry Red,  including 'Dark Luminosity – The 21st Century Collection' and 'In Dub II: Deluxe'.

Teen Mortgage Drop "Burn" — WATCH // Touring With Joyce Manor

Washington, DC punk duo TEEN MORTGAGE — guitarist/vocalist James Guile and drummer Ed Barakauskas — have shared the brand new single "BURN" ahead of their late winter/spring tour with Joyce Manor.

"BURN" boasts push and pull tension and noisy riffs, and was co-produced by Zac Carper of FIDLAR.

"There was a compelling urgency to record 'Burn,'" says Guile. "It called to us from the ether like the green goblin mask. It's sick to get a break from being on the road to record something that feels like a progression from our first album, Devil Ultrasonic Dream, and in time to throw in the set for our tour supporting Joyce Manor...As far as the lyrics go, I'm just saying what we're all feeling."

The Amity Affliction Tease Upcoming Album With Video for "Bleed"

THE AMITY AFFLICTION continue to tease the arrival of their much-anticipated new studio record, HOUSE OF CARDS, with the reveal of a blistering new single — "BLEED."

Released as the band continues their extensive tour of regional Australia, the latest from THE AMITY AFFLICTION lands with impact: A ferocious stride forward for the group into a brand new era of artistry. 

Where previous single "HOUSE OF CARDS" was an emotionally weighted insight into the relationship songwriter JOEL BIRCH and his siblings shared with their mother, "BLEED" has manifested itself into an avenue for Birch to look at public perceptions and personas, versus the reality he exists in every day.

As he explains, "This song is a bit of a 'fuck you' to people online who leave comments like they know me personally, or know anything about what's happening in my life, and a bit of a reminder to myself that I am not beholden to that idea, and I am the person I know myself to be. 'I bleed the way I bleed...' is my way of saying that I am the way I am not the way I am perceived to be by people who don't actually know me and have formed or projected an idea of me onto me by way of social media."

Bike Routes Announce New Album "Prairie" + Share "Delicate" Video

New Jersey-based, indie alternative artist BIKE ROUTES, the alter ego of multi-instrumentalist David Osterhout, is pleased to announce the June 26 release of his third album PRAIRIE via Blue Grape Music. Pre-order it here.

Today, Bike Routes has shared the video for their first single "DELICATE." It's a pulse-pounding, feel-good anthem for the underdogs that's anything but what its title might suggest! The track also features a woozy saxophone, courtesy of none other than Jake Clemons of Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band. Listening to Bike Routes is a lot like watching a montage from a classic coming-of-age flick.  Illuminated in the glow of warm synths, sparse guitar, and rich beats, you might catch a glimpse of a small town (much like the one you call home), a lovestruck young couple (as they make their escape into a new life), or an extraordinary feat accomplished by a seemingly ordinary person. Set to a soundtrack-esque patchwork of indie, emo, post-punk, and pop, a flurry of memories, experiences, and emotions flicker in and out of focus under the auteur-like direction of singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer David Osterhout. 

"For this album, we had two years of careful and precise planning," Osterhout says. "These 11 songs are the perfect encapsulation of what Bike Routes was meant to be from the beginning. Even back when I was playing coffee shops ten years ago, this record is what I've been building towards." 

Ever since his childhood, the South Jersey native has harbored an intense and obsessive passion for music. After years of grinding locally with an acoustic guitar, he introduced the world to Bike Routes with his 2020 debut Let It Go. His songcraft naturally evolved across Love Is An Action [2022] and the Rush of Energy EP [2024]. Along the way, he developed his stage presence, touring with Hawthorne Heights. Capitalizing on this momentum, he architected what would become Prairie with longtime producer Zach Tuch. David made a series of trips to Los Angeles where he brought these songs to life in Tuch's Woodland Hills studio. This time around, he leaned on his formative musical inspirations and nodded to favorite authors like Iris Murdoch, Kurt Vonnegut, and Cormac McCarthy whose Border Trilogy proved to be especially influential.

"New Jersey is big for me," he goes on. "As a kid, I listened to a lot of Bruce Springsteen in addition to My Chemical Romance. Then, my mom introduced me to ABBA. I'm a huge hip-hop fan, but I love hardcore, grind, and death metal too. My music pulls from all directions. I want my voice and lyrics to fit over anything. I added full band elements on Love Is An Action and expanded the sound even more on Rush of Energy. I'm in a different place again. Bike Routes will still be Bike Routes no matter what."

As Everything Unfolds are gearing up for the release of their highly-anticipated new album, DID YOU ASK TO BE SET FREE?, on April 10 via Century Media.

"Denial is the hardest thing to watch someone go through," shares Charlie Rolfe. "You can say or do nothing that will make them realize the horrible situation they're in, you see small moments of clarity where they're screaming out for help but they fall back into denial. It's their closest friend, their comfort. I found it the hardest phase to watch someone in addiction recovery go through. Their disregard for your emotional and physical well-being, your feelings don't even come into their mind. No matter how much you try to sympathize and say that you understand the pain they’re going through, it's never enough to convince them that they're not alone and their own destructive misery feels like they find joy in inflicting pain upon others, they feel better spreading their pain rather than facing it."

Depth. An infinity loop of layers that unravel over time. In the case of Charlie Rolfe, the importance of depth has come to define both the art that she creates — as frontwoman and lead vocalist of As Everything Unfolds — and re-contextualize the art she holds dearest.

"As I've gotten older, I've appreciated the depth of anything in my life," she explains. "I can never accept something for how it is on the surface, I have to understand it." Whether it’s the allegories and social commentary in Blade Runner,that desire for artistic depth flows through Charlie.

"I love absorbing information," she adds. "I think that information is one of the most powerful tools in the world, and it's undervalued by a lot of people. The more you know, the more you can potentially set yourself free." Which brings us to just one thread of the concept behind DID YOU ASK TO BE SET FREE?, the first album from the Buckinghamshire quartet since signing to Century Media Records.

Set free from who? What? The rigor of that question is what characterizes the fluidity of As Everything Unfolds' third full-length, which grapples with the tightrope between a dream state and reality. Should you walk the tightrope and risk leaving your safe haven of fantasy? Whatever the choice – conscious or  otherwise – will you find 'freedom' at the end of the road? That never-ending labyrinth of questions is what shapes the crux of the record.

Tragedy hit camp As Everything Unfolds in August 2024 when drummer Jamie Gowers, who was also Charlie's boyfriend, passed away. Midway through writing this album, the quartet banded together to re-ignite the flames of As Everything Unfolds.

"It’s going to be shit and it's going to be horrible, but running away from it felt like the wrong thing to do," recalls Charlie. "This is the hardest record we will ever have to do — how can we flip it into something we're proud of, and give it the longevity and legacy it deserves?'"

Taking two years to give writing and pre-production the TLC it deserved, the album was recorded across three weeks in February 2025.

Despite initially feeling like a record of two halves, Charlie was never going to settle for anything other than a unified concept. It was when an old university mate recommended a book called The Creative Act by Rick Rubin that inspired the eureka moment for this record.

Ultimately, DID YOU ASK TO BE SET FREE? is an alternate lens through which Charlie examines reality, and the never-ending dichotomy between hiding and confronting it. As someone who experienced a lot of maladaptive daydreaming during the early days of her trauma, the tool and throughline was there for Charlie to tell her story.

After a turbulent few years, there is a creative depth to DID YOU ASK TO BE SET FREE? that ensures it’s their strongest album to date.

"It’s told its story, and I don’t feel like I need to take it any further," she boldly declares. "It’s a capsule of that moment, of the things that happened to me, and I’m now in a new part of my life. That’s why drawing the line under it is important."

MICHAEL SCHENKER AND DEREK SHERINIAN HONORED IN BURRN! MAGAZINE AWARDS

Keyboardist Derek Sherinian and legendary guitarist Michael Schenker were recently honored in Japan’s Burrn! Magazine 2025 Readers’ Poll, with Sherinian winning the Best Keyboardist award for the fourth consecutive year (2022, 2023, 2024, 2025), in addition to his previous win in 2020.

Sherinian’s four consecutive wins tie him with the legendary Jon Lord of Deep Purple, who also achieved a four-year winning streak in the Burrn! readers’ poll from 1984 through 1987.

Schenker also recently returned to Tokyo’s legendary Nippon Budokan for a sold-out performance — his first headlining show at the venue in 30 years — with Sherinian performing in the band, further connecting the two artists following their recognition in the Burrn! readers’ poll.

Sherinian has also received major international recognition for his playing, having been voted “Greatest Keyboardist of the 21st Century” and ranked #8 “Greatest Keyboardist of All Time” by MusicRadar, while Prog Magazine ranked him #9 Greatest Keyboardist of All Time.

Sherinian has distinguished himself through his versatility and aggressive, “guitaristic” keyboard approach. MusicRadar noted, “His virtuoso playing has seen him dubbed the keyboard-playing version of Eddie Van Halen.” David Coverdale has said that “Derek plays the Hammond organ like the son of Jon Lord,” while Glenn Hughes called him “the best living rock keyboardist.”

Beginning his professional career with Alice Cooper on the Trashes The World tour in 1989, Sherinian went on to tour and record with KISS, Dream Theater, Yngwie Malmsteen, Billy Idol, and Whitesnake. He has released nine solo albums and co-founded the progressive bands Planet X and Sons of Apollo, and is currently a member of the supergroup Black Country Communion, alongside Joe Bonamassa, Glenn Hughes, and Jason Bonham.

Tim King of SHALLOW RISING

SHALLOW RISING is a modern rock band with one goal: to destroy the expectations that title brings with it.The quintet - Alex Villarreal (Vocals), Tim Ossenfort (Guitar), Taylor Brandt (Bass), Tim King (Keyboards), and Chris Adler (Drums) draw from a diverse bank of influences to craft something unique but archetypical.The band came to life one winter in a cold basement in Sault Ste. Marie, Mich., where Ossenfort started writing demos and sharing them with his friend Chris Adler. The duo initially met at a recording session in Nashville, becoming good friends and later working together on a hardcore project.

Ultimately, they decided to take these new demos to the studio in LA, accompanied by Taylor Brandt. After some work it became obvious what was missing, and they added

Tim King onto the team. King, Brandt, and Ossenfort had all previously toured the country together extensively. Finally, Ossenfort reached out to Alex, another longtime friend, and the new group spent the next year rewriting their songs. Bringing together influences ranging from alternative rock, 70s prog, djent, EDM, pop, and metalcore, SHALLOW RISING provides listeners with a sound that is fresh, yet familiar.

According to Brandyberry, the song reflects "the fallout of a relationship built on control, desire, and guilt. It's a song that captures the exhaustion of giving endlessly to someone who keeps asking for more and mistaking survival for love. Case echoes these sentiments, furthering, "'Die For You' is about bending over backwards, doing everything you possibly can to please someone in a relationship, and it just never ends up being enough. And it feels like no matter what you do, it is just never good enough."

The weight of the subject matter is matched by the heft of the layered vocals and accompanying razor sharp riffs and moody melodies. Fans cannot help but feel the song's very real beating heart.

The 12-track REFLECTIONS is the follow-up to 2023's BLACKOUT, which achieved the #1 spot on several iTunes and Spotify Rock and Metal charts across the globe. It was a massive success. Yet, in late 2023, FROM ASHES TO NEW arrived at a creative crossroads. The group wrapped up demos for 16 songs for what was supposed to be their fifth studio album. However, instead of sprinting towards the finish line and completing the record, the band scrapped those demo sessions. The process went against everything the band had ever done before. But largely starting anew —they kept two songs— was liberating. The band collectively knew it had to make something that remained true to their traditional sound yet broadened the tent to capture the ears and focus of a fresh audience. "I wanted to take what we are good at and push it even further," Brandyberry says. "That was the process for this whole record."

As a result, fans can hear a reinvigorated FROM ASHES TO NEW on REFLECTIONS.

Red Jumpsuit Apparatus Release "X's For Eyes" Deluxe Edition With 4 New Tracks + Share "Not Today"

5X Platinum-certified alternative rockers THE RED JUMPSUIT APPARATUS — vocalist Ronnie Winter, his multi-instrumentalist brother Randy Winter, guitarist Josh Burke, bassist Joey Westwood, drummer John Espy, keyboardist Nadeem Salam, and newest member K Enagonio on vocals — rode the crest of a major career wave in 2025. They released X'S FOR EYES via BETTER NOISE MUSIC and enjoyed Fall 2025 appearances at key festivals, including Aftershock, When We Were Young, and Warped Tour Orlando.

The band cruises into 2026 with the release of the deluxe edition of X'S FOR EYES. The expanded version features four additional tracks: the previously released "Angels Cry"; "Perfection" (Feat. Mayday Parade's Derek Sanders); "Not Today"; and "Slipping Through (No Kings)" (Screams Version). Get the deluxe version here.

"The surprise guest vocalist and alternate versions really make this the most exciting deluxe edition in the history of our career," declares Ronnie Winter.

The 11 original songs on X's For Eyes found the band revving up their caffeinated pop sensibilities, throwing down the punishing riffola, delivering more electronic and ambient flourishes, and topping all of it off with Winter's high-pitched emoting. Factor in some A-list cameos from Sleeping With Sirens' Kellin Quinn( "Always The King") and Escape The Fate frontman Craig Mabbitt ("Worth It") and the end result is one of the best offerings of the band's career. For this album, Winter was able to reconcile the deep, sometimes nagging thoughts he'd been harboring, post-pandemic. When the proceedings get melancholy or troubling lyrically, the band is ready to propel these songs into pogo-popping dance floors, furious mosh pits or moments of reverent, tribunal phone-waving. It's always been a cathartic listen and now it has been super-sized with four additional songs that are sure to please the RJA faithful!

LEAVES’ EYES Celebrate Release Of New EP 'Song Of Darkness'

While symphonic Viking metal pioneers LEAVES’ EYES just kicked off their European and UK tour, the band are celebrating the release of their brand new EP Song Of Darkness, that is out now on Reigning Phoenix Music!

Serving as a powerful foretaste of the band’s upcoming studio album, the critically-acclaimed four-track release once again showcases the signature sound that has defined LEAVES’ EYES for more than two decades: sweeping orchestral arrangements, Nordic mythological storytelling and the striking vocal interplay between the soaring soprano of Elina Siirala and the unmistakable growls of band founder Alexander Krull. Combining cinematic symphonic metal grandeur with Viking metal intensity, Song Of Darkness expands the band’s epic sonic universe while continuing their tradition of blending melody, heaviness and atmosphere.

Recorded at Mastersound Studio under the production of Alexander Krull, the EP captures LEAVES’ EYES at a moment of artistic strength, balancing sweeping symphonic arrangements with an earthy, human pulse. The title track itself draws inspiration from the medieval Icelandic saga of Gisli the Outlaw, leading listeners into a world of murder, intrigue, guilt-ridden dreams, and the hope for redemption.

BLACK SITES Unveil "Aquarius Betrayed" And Announce New Album, For Eternity

Drawing from old school metal, heavy quartet BLACK SITES present their new single "Aquarius Betrayed", the first offering taken from the upcoming album, For Eternity. The album will be released independently on July 17, 2026.

The approaching full-length marks a new chapter for BLACK SITES as Mark Sugar is joined with an updated line-up. For Eternity showcases a development in the band's sound and sees the members' contributions enhance the music's sonic quality. 

"Aquarius Betrayed" reflects frustration at the contradiction towards previous generations who "reaped the benefits of the most socially liberated and progressive era in history, and then quickly turned their back on those values when they became inconvenient." 

On the recording process for "Aquarius Betrayed", band founder Mark Sugar shares, "This was also the first song that Lee (Smith, new guitarist) recorded guitar for. He’s the only member of the band I hadn’t worked with before, so I wasn’t sure what to expect, but his solo here is more than impressive."

For Eternity was produced by Mark Sugar & Chris Black, recorded at I Can’t Believe It’s Not Mace Street Studios, with mixing and mastering by Dan Swano. Drums on For Eternity were recorded by Vladimir Ružičić at Kebac Recording Studio.

About BLACK SITES:
Based out of Chicago, IL, USA, BLACK SITES was founded in 2016, initially as a studio project, by vocalist and guitarist Mark Sugar. Sugar was later joined by members John Picillo (bass), Ryan Bruchert (guitar) and Chris Avgerin (drums). BLACK SITES combines old school metal with guitar harmonies, melodic/clean vocals and progressive elements, primarily drawing inspiration from the likes of VOIVOD, BLACK SABBATH, and KING’S X.

Now, in 2026, Mark Sugar is joined by new members Jose Salazar (bass), Lee Smith (guitar) and Chris Black (drums). The forthcoming album For Eternity is set to release independently on July 17, 2026.
