Leah Blevins Goes "Diggin' In The Coal" on New Track

On the heels of recent releases “Be Careful Throwing Stones” and “All Dressed Up,” the title track from her Dan Auerbach-produced album, singer/songwriter Leah Blevins releases another taste of her Easy Eye Sound debut with latest track, “Diggin’ in the Coal” available today.

Written with Auerbach and Pat McLaughlin, “Diggin’ in the Coal” continues to showcase Blevins’ piercing vocal clarity, storytelling and unflinching emotional honesty with a dash of ‘70s retro glamour and sheen.

The new track follows recent releases “Be Careful Throwing Stones,” which Whiskey Riff called a “song that needs to be on your radar” and “All Dressed Up,” named a “hot new track” by Barnburner. The track marks the latest glimpse into the sonic landscape of her upcoming album, a timeless blend of Southern rock earthiness and pop-country shimmer, anchored by a twangy Karen Carpenter-esque vocal purity. Listen to “Diggin’ in the Coal” Below.

Pre-save All Dressed Up, set for release March 20, 2026, HERE.

With “Diggin’ in the Coal,” Blevins explores finding good things in dark places while evoking great grandfather/miner Cole Grove and their East Kentucky roots, going out of her way to hold hope even as she recognizes her own short-comings.

“My great grandfather and my granny worked in the coal mines of Kentucky,” shares Blevins. “I remember hearing stories growing up, and there was something about the ‘canary in a coal mine’ imagery that seemed ripe for a song about relationships to me...being a sounding board and support for each other even in dark times.”

With a chugging uptempo rhythm swaddled in pedal steel, “Diggin’ in the Coal” expands on the fresh yet nostalgic sound Blevins introduced with “Be Careful Throwing Stones” and All Dressed Up,” pairing emotional intelligence and heartache with quiet strength. Raised on the bluegrass-stained Kentucky country of Loretta Lynn, Patty Loveless, Dwight Yoakam and fellow Sandy Hook native Keith Whitley, Blevins continues a lineage of storytellers who understand the power of plainspoken truth.

In addition to the recent tracks, the official music video for “Be Careful Throwing Stones” premiered exclusively with Holler noting “the infectious, retro-tinged earworm has been elevated by a cinematic new music video.” Watch the official video HERE.

She continues her penchant for crafting songs and visuals that feel outside of time. Her work echoes the greats of the ‘60s and ‘90s while standing firmly in the present, resulting in a sound that will resonate just as deeply 30 years from now.

BLOOD OF ANGELS Release New Single “The Last Rites” and Announce Upcoming Album Les Agnst ov Thanatou

BLOOD OF ANGELS have unveiled their new single “The Last Rites”, offering a powerful first look into their forthcoming full-length album Les Agnst ov Thanatou, scheduled for release on June 21, 2026. Accompanied by an official lyric video, the single marks a pivotal chapter in the band’s most ambitious and emotionally driven work to date.

“The Last Rites” serves as a thematic cornerstone of Les Agnst ov Thanatou, a concept album centered on mortality, grief, ritual, and the psychological weight of loss. The song captures the moment where struggle gives way to ceremony, reflecting the human need for closure when confronting death. Musically, BLOOD OF ANGELS balance crushing aggression with deliberate structure, blending rhythmic groove, high-speed intensity, and melodic precision to create a track that is both forceful and reflective.

Lyrically, “The Last Rites” explores the stillness that follows life’s final breath. It examines fear, release, and remembrance, presenting death not as chaos, but as a passage shaped by ritual and reflection. The track stands as a transition point within the album’s narrative, preparing the listener for deeper psychological and emotional confrontations ahead.

Les Agnst ov Thanatou represents a significant evolution for BLOOD OF ANGELS. Written during a period marked by widespread uncertainty and personal loss, the album presents a unified narrative that traces humanity’s response to death through resistance, ritual, memory, and acceptance. Recorded at Underground Studios in Tampa, Florida, the album was produced by Bob Noxious, Preston DiCarlo, and BLOOD OF ANGELS, with mixing by Preston DiCarlo and mastering at Soundlab in New York City.

Since forming in 2017, BLOOD OF ANGELS have earned international recognition for their songwriting, musicianship, and uncompromising vision. Their accolades include the 2023 Hollywood Independent Music Award for “Best Rock/Metal Song” and multiple Akademia Music Awards. In 2025, the band completed a sold-out headlining European tour, further establishing their presence on the global metal stage.

With “The Last Rites,” BLOOD OF ANGELS begin the descent into Les Agnst ov Thanatou, inviting listeners to confront mortality through sound, story, and emotion.

BLOOD OF ANGELS has earned multiple industry awards for songwriting and performance, including honors from the Hollywood Independent Music Awards and Akademia Music Awards. In 2025, the band completed a sold-out headlining European tour, further establishing their presence on the international metal stage.

AGENBITE MISERY Release New Single “Circe” from Forthcoming Album Remorse of Conscience

New Hampshire experimental extreme-metal trio AGENBITE MISERY have unveiled “Circe,” the latest single from their forthcoming debut album Remorse of Conscience, due out February 6, 2026.

A more direct black metal track filtered through a psychedelic, exploratory lens, “Circe” adapts the fifteenth chapter of James Joyce’s Ulysses, the infamous “Nighttown” episode, into sound. In the novel, Leopold Bloom and Stephen Dedalus drift drunkenly through Dublin’s red-light district as the chapter dissolves into a feverish hallucination filled with nightmares, guilt, satire, and fleeting grace. AGENBITE MISERY translate this dream logic into music built from hypnotic, undulating riffs that blur structure and sensation, leaving the listener suspended in a disorienting haze.

Rhythmically, the song is deliberately unstable, simultaneously implying both 4 and 6 feels as guitar, bass, and drums suggest conflicting patterns. Arpeggiated chords float over exotic drum figures before collapsing into tremolo-picked, unresolved progressions that nod toward acts like Deathspell Omega. The trance fractures at key moments. Ascending organ lines usher in a shout-along, almost hardcore-tinged chorus driven by skank beats and pick scrapes, while two contrasting guitar solos, one sinister and galloping, the other melodic and angular with an Opeth-inspired edge, cut through the fog. The track ultimately returns to its central riff in a subdued, atmospheric form, mirroring the emotional comedown after a long night of intoxication.

Lyrically, “Circe” draws directly from Joyce’s text, favoring vivid imagery and dark humor over linear narrative. Lines evoke Dublin’s nocturnal landscape dissolving into pastoral hallucinations, robed figures speaking in many tongues, Bloom’s self-lacerating fantasies, and Stephen’s haunted psyche. The song closes on one of the novel’s most poignant moments, Bloom’s vision of the ghostly son he never had, a fragile reminder of humanity and perseverance amid the chaos.

Remorse of Conscience adapts Ulysses into eight aggressive, atmospheric compositions that merge blackened sludge, dissonant death metal, post-punk, and ambient drone. Written in 2023 and recorded in 2024, the album was self-produced by the band, mixed by Eric Sauter, and mastered by Brad Boatright. While steeped in dense literary reference, the record ultimately reaches beyond academia toward the raw human experience at its core, confronting the question of whether meaning can still be found amid modern ruin. AGENBITE MISERY’s answer is unambiguous. Yes.

In support of the album, AGENBITE MISERY will embark on a four-date Northeastern tour this February:

  • February 5 – Blue, Portland ME (with ERGI, INGRATE, BÜZEM)

  • February 6 – Riverhill Grange, Concord NH (with IMIPOLEX, BENEATH PURGATORY, PERFECT SUFFERING)

  • February 7 – AS220, Providence RI (with RHIZARIA, CAREGIVER, SATAN WEED)

  • February 8 – O’Brien’s, Allston MA (with NORTH STAR THE WANDERER, GLOOMLURKER, HEXROT)

AGENBITE MISERY exists at the edge of metal and the margins of modern art, translating abstract ideas into concrete sound with unrelenting force. Whether performing live or recording in isolation, their ethos remains constant: dig deeper, aim higher, and never repeat what has already been done.

AGENBITE MISERY is:
Sam Graff – Guitars / Vocals / Synth
Cam Netland – Bass / Vocals
Adam Richards – Drums / Vocals

Hear Alkaloid's New Album a Day Early

Alkaloid know no bounds. Since joining forces in 2013, the supergroup has rearranged the very composition of progressive death metal. But upon returning to the stage last summer, Morean, Hannes Grossman, Linus Klausenitzer, Justin Hombach and Max Blok proved once and for all why they are metal’s maddest scientists. Their new live album, Bach Out of Bounds, is a genre-defying experiment that only true maestros can perform.

Bach Out of Bounds comes out tomorrow, Friday, January 23, but you can hear the all eight explosive compositions today by listening to the full album stream below.

“The audience who came and saw these performances went crazy for it”, Morean remembers. “I’m so happy that we can now share them with people everywhere. People aren’t going to know what hit them. Bach Out of Bounds is very different from what other metal bands – or even Alkaloid – normally do”.

Chat with Alkaloid about their classical new invention tomorrow during the band’s Reddit AMA.

Alkaloid Bach Out of Bounds Reddit AMA

Friday, January 23 @ 18 CET / Noon Eastern Time

r/TechnicalDeathMetal

Recorded live in the Netherlands, Bach Out of Bounds brings the revered composer in conversation with the heaviest of underground arts. Across three separate performances – at the Bachfestival in Dordrecht, Paard van Troje in The Hague and on November Music in Den Bosch – Alkaloid present three faithful renditions of Bach classics alongside an award-winning ensemble. Heavenly vocals grace sacred aria “Agnus Dei”. Even the hellacious guitar solo on “Allegro” achieves perfect harmony with softly shredding strings.

Of course, being metal’s mad scientists, Alkaloid also unveil some fresh creations by re-imagining songs from their own acclaimed catalogue in Bach’s image. As if summoned by a siren’s call, “Beneath the Sea” is revealed as a speaker-shaking precursor to the band’s monster hit “Cthulhu”. New song “Haunter of the Void” goes where no metalhead has gone before: following a digitized brain into deep space's crushing void. “These will change everything”, Morean growls as “The Fungi from Yuggoth” spawns into a headbanging symphonic mutation.

With Bach Out of Bounds, Alkaloid deliver a classically innovative performance as only true maestros can.

OPETH - Release New Performance Video For “§7” From 'The Last Will And Testament'

Swedish progressive metal legends OPETH return with a powerful new performance video for “§7,” a key track from their critically acclaimed album The Last Will and Testament.

The video captures the band in raw, commanding form, spotlighting the precision, atmosphere, and emotional weight that define OPETH at this stage of their career. Focused and unembellished, the performance highlights the band’s musical chemistry and the intensity at the heart of the track.

The release arrives ahead of OPETH’s upcoming U.S. tour, which kicks off in two weeks and will see the band bringing the music of The Last Will and Testament to stages across the country alongside fan favorites from their storied catalog.

Mikael Åkerfeldt comments: “That track was scary to play live at first. Most of our songs are challenging, I suppose, and this one is no exception. I believe we all love playing this one. There are a myriad of details that could go wrong though, but it’s fun. It keeps you on your toes. And of course, then there’s Ian Anderson’s narrations, which is the only thing in our set that isn’t 'live'. Since we don’t play to a click-track, it’s dragging or pushing depending on the tempo of the evening. Again, it’s fun and I love the unforeseeable character of this song in a live setting. That’s a bit odd since I normally want to feel completely secure and really know what I’m doing. I generally don’t like surprises on stage.”

§7” serves as a pivotal moment within the album’s broader narrative, which has been widely praised for its cinematic flow, depth, and fearless exploration of light and shade. By stripping the song back to its essence, the new video reinforces OPETH’s ability to balance technical mastery with emotional resonance - a duality Mikael Åkerfeldt has often highlighted in the band’s work.

Following the U.S. run, OPETH will also perform select dates across Europe later this year.

Fans old and new are encouraged to revisit the album in full, streaming “§7” alongside its other chapters to experience the complete arc as intended. From its haunting opening moments to its powerful conclusion, the record rewards deep listening.

Watch the performance video for “§7” now, listen to The Last Will and Testament on all major platforms, and catch Opeth live where tickets remain available.

SODOM RELEASE NEW VIDEO AND SINGLE FOR REMIXED VERSION OF ‘JABBA THE HUTT’

Sodom’s, 1994 album Get What You Deserve didn’t stick to any of the rules of the era. "We just wanted to sound completely nuts — full-on, in-your-face madness - it was pure Sodom just not giving a damn. Especially not about what anyone else was doing. We wanted to do what felt right to us — raw, grimy, unpolished. Songs that would make other people cringe — that’s what we were after."

The new single 'Jabba the Hutt' is one such track, and it may appear that it‘s named after a Star Wars character — but it’s actually about a real person. When asked about it, Tom Angelripper and Andy Brings respond in unison: "We won’t comment on that."

The accompanying video is cut from archive camcorder footage of the infamous photoshoots for both the grotesque album cover of 'Get What You Deserve' and it’s preceding EP, 'Aber Bitte Mit Sahne' and provides a snapshot into the warped minds of Sodom in 1994!

Thirty-two years later, this snarling beast is being unleashed on the metal community once again. A timeless punch to the gut — or, as Maik Weichert, guitarist and mastermind of German metalcore heroes Heaven Shall Burn, puts it: “The best punk album of the nineties!”

Tape Room Music Marks 60th No. 1 with Back-to-Back-to-Back Chart-Toppers

Only three full weeks into the New Year, Tape Room Music has dominated the Country Airplay charts, earning three back-to-back chart-toppers and marking the publishing company’s 60th No. 1 hit since its establishment in 2011 with “Favorite Country Song.”

The occasion is exceptionally special for Beau Bailey, as “Stay Country or Die Tryin’” (Blake Shelton) and “Favorite Country Song” (HARDY) were his first two tracks sent to radio, both released on the same day, and went No. 1 consecutively, with “Stay Country or Die Tryin’” landing at No. 1 on both the Billboard and Country Aircheck/Mediabase Country charts last week and “Favorite Country Song” topping the Billboard Country chart this week.

Ben Williams is also celebrating his second No. 1 with “6 Months Later” (Megan Moroney), which topped the Country Aircheck/Mediabase Country chart this week. The single followed Moroney’s “You Had To Be There (ft. Kenny Chesney),” which Williams also co-wrote.

Tape Room’s invigorating start in 2026 follows a landmark year in 2025, which saw the independent publishing company garnering six No. 1 singles, along with 13 songs on Billboard’s Year-End Hot Country Songs chart.

Tape Room writers continue to see radio success ahead, with current singles with Jon Pardi, Russell Dickerson, Nate Smith and Tyler Hubbard, Chris Janson, Lauren Alaina and Chase Matthew, and Dustin Lynch.

TYKETTO RELEASE UPLIFTING SINGLE/VIDEO ‘WE RISE’ NEW ALBUM – CLOSER TO THE SUN – OUT MARCH 20 TH

Hard rocking songsmiths Tyketto release the video for second single ‘We Rise’, taken from the upcoming studio album Closer To The Sun, set for release Friday, March 20th, via Silver Lining Music. For pre-orders go to

this location.

A strong spirit of optimism and forward drive powers the album’s more arena-ready passages, as Tyketto tap back into their classic arena rock roots —most strikingly on

We Rise.

“In the spirit of ‘Don't Come Easy’ we set out to create a couple of real arena rock anthems and ‘We Rise’ is definitely one of those.” comments vocalist and founding member Danny Vaughn. “It also marked the first real collaborative effort within the band for this album. Harry brought in the guitar riff and the chorus. Chris and I fleshed out the arrangement and the lyrics and before you know it, magic happened! It's a simple message; when you get knocked down, keep getting back up!”

Watch/Listen to ‘We RiseBelow directed and edited by Scott Wardell; filmed by Paul Hollingsworth at Base Studios 1, Stourbridge.

Throughout Closer To The SunTyketto speak to the listener about true life loves, losses and pleasures. From the title track’s triumphant, soaring appreciation of love’s power, to the punchy rawness built to make fists rise and hearts race of “Hit Me Where It Hurts”, to the power balladry of

The Picture”, Tyketto continue to confidently stride the same musical terrain as the likes of Whitesnake and Aerosmith, with the added bonus of being fresh to the ears of many.

Joined by Harry Scott Elliott on guitar, Ged Rylands on keyboards, Chris Childs (Thunder) on bass and Johnny Dee(Doro) on drums, Vaughn leads a lineup that brings exceptional performances and undeniable fire to every track, reaffirming Tyketto as one of rock’s most respected and enduring names. Closer To The Sun was recorded across multiple studios in the UK and Europe, including Flip Flop Studios and the legendary Rockfield Studios in Wales.

Watch/Listen to the recently released ‘Higher Than High’ at this locationdirected and edited by Scott Wardell; filmed by Paul Hollingsworth at KK’s Steel Mill.

It's Time to Rise as Dogma Returns to the U.S. This Spring

Explosive hard rock band DOGMA return to the States this Spring on the Time to Rise Pt. 1. Some paths were broken before they could be completed, and certain cities were left waiting. That tension did not fade. It stayed with us, sharpened us, and demanded a proper return.”

She continues, “Time to Rise Part I U.S. Tour 2026 emerges from that demand. What comes next carries intention, consequence, and elements that will not announce themselves in advance. There will be moments you are not prepared for, choices you didn’t plan to make, impulses you didn’t expect to feel, and yet, you will feel them. Anaheim and Reno are part of that reckoning. To the sinners who remained present despite uncertainty: this chapter is written with you in mind. What rises now does so with purpose, weight, memory… and temptations that will test how far you’re willing to go.”

BLEED FROM WITHIN - Reveal Live Audiotree Session

Scottish metal heavyweights, Bleed From Within, are proud to reveal their live Audiotree Session. The band filmed the one take performance during their 2025 North America tour supporting Bullet For My Valentine and Trivium, featuring songs from their latest album Zenith and more. Audiotree are renowned for showcasing talented musicians from around the world. Their channel has become a cornerstone, capturing intimate studio performances from diverse artists.

Watch the Bleed From Within x Audiotree session below:

Bleed From Within stated:
"We’ve had our eyes on Audiotree for quite some time. We saw this as an opportunity to showcase our material in a new light, without the usual production that we have with us in a live environment. In an age of over produced records & bands editing live footage, it felt refreshing to walk into a room and just play our instruments knowing that this was our one take and only chance to dial it in. There were no run throughs or drop ins. Play it loud, then come see it in the flesh in April/May on our first ever headline tour of North America!"

ABOUT BLEED FROM WITHIN

After 20 years, Bleed from Within have reached their Zenith. The Glasgow firebrands are one of the hardest working acts in metal: playing shows globally with everyone from Megadeth to Slipknot, all while writing and regularly releasing monstrous, exhilarating songs. The upward journey reaches new heights on their seventh album, which contains the band’s heaviest, catchiest and most intrepid music to date.

Bleed – vocalist Scott Kennedy, guitarists Craig “Goonzi” Gowans and Steven Jones, drummer Ali Richardson and bassist Davie Provan – have long been Scottish metal’s most valued sons, constantly at the vanguard of muscular-sounding music. First albums Humanity(2009) and Empire (2010) made them cult figureheads in the deathcore scene, before Uprising(2013) broadened their palate with groove metal adrenaline and melodic death metal prowess. It also marked their major-label debut, catapulting them onto tours with heavy royalty.

In 2018, the band returned with the ferocious Era. Then, follow-ups Fracture (2020) and Shrine(2022) proved their greatest triumphs to date, intertwining Scott’s snarls with Steven’s majestic singing. The millions of streams gathered by such singles as ‘The End of All We Know’, ‘Into Nothing’ and ‘Levitate’ proved Bleed had become the next big thing. On Zenith – which was announced alongside career-affirming tours with Slipknot, Trivium and Bullet for My Valentine – the quintet are primed to leap into superstardom.

Across 11 songs, Zenith explores the parameters of what pulse-pounding metal can do. ‘Violent Nature’ is the most attention-demanding opener Bleed have ever penned, accelerating from a distorted intro to an onslaught of drums, blitzkrieg riffs and layer upon layer of screams. Single ‘In Place of Your Halo’ is a heavier counterpoint: its hulking groove leads up to a surprising bagpipe section, keeping the band in touch with their homeland as they affirm themselves on the world’s stage. From the bold string sections throughout the album to finale ‘Edge of Infinity’, which rises from acoustic guitars and singing to an almighty crescendo, Bleed’s horizons have never been broader. Yet, their songs have never felt so invigorating across the board either.

Bleed From Within are:
Scott Kennedy - Vocals
Craig Gowans - Lead Guitar
Steven Jones - Rhythm Guitar & Vocals
David Provan - Bass
Ali Richardson - Drums

ROMAN CANDLE Drop New Single & Video "Can We Watch Something Happy?"

Roman Candle share "Can We Watch Something Happy?" today, arriving with an accompanying music video. Written from the perspective of Piper Ferrari's childhood self, the track documents the cycle of uncontrolled intrusive thoughts, compulsive prayer, and the overwhelming guilt of believing her own mind was a sin. The song arrives as the band's fourth single following their 2025 Sumerian Records signing. Fans can stream the new track HERE and watch the accompanying music video Below.

Speaking on the theme of the new single, Piper shares

"'Can We Watch Something Happy' is written from the perspective of my childhood self. I struggled with severe OCD growing up, which was intensified by being raised in a religious household. I wasn't diagnosed until much later, so for most of my youth I didn't understand what was happening — I just remember being scared all the time. There was a constant cycle of praying for the intrusive thoughts to go away, eventually giving in to them, and then praying again for forgiveness. That's where the repeated 'one more time' comes from. It wasn't about depression or suicidality; it was about trying to survive this overwhelming fear of thoughts I didn't want, and then feeling deep guilt because I believed even having those thoughts was a sin."

Roman Candle has built their Sumerian Records tenure on unflinching examination of difficult and vulnerable topics such as mental health and trauma. Prior to today's new track, the band released the critically acclaimed singles "Fire In The Night Sky Forever.", "This Band Has Led Me To Places I Wouldn't Go With A Gun," and "Nothing Is Original". Each track stakes new ground in how the band articulates pain without softening its edges or asking for easy answers. "Can We Watch Something Happy?" continues that trajectory.

Roman Candle have firmly established themselves as one of the most vital voices in contemporary hardcore. The band has amassed 2.8 million streams across all platforms and 400,000 YouTube views, building a devoted following through relentless live performances and emotionally resonant songwriting. With much more to come from the band in 2026, they show no signs of slowing down any time soon.

ABOUT ROMAN CANDLE

Roman Candle is a visceral and emotionally charged hardcore band from Las Vegas, Nevada, built around the creative core of Piper Ferrari (vocals) and Jonas Vece (guitar). Emerging from the ashes of their former project sowithout., the two formed Roman Candle with a vision to push the boundaries of hardcore through vulnerability, intensity, and intentionality.

Rooted in the lineage of bands like Saetia, Touché Amoré, and Poison the Well, Roman Candle blends classic “screamo” sensibilities with a modern edge—balancing raw catharsis and poetic tension. Their 2022 debut EP Discount Fireworks marked them as a standout in the Las Vegas underground. After spending much of 2023 & 2024 showcasing their new material live, the band's reputation for emotionally resonant, tightly wound songs that leave nothing on the table was further cemented. The band also spent a considerable amount of time on the road with bands like Dying Wish, Boundaries, Militare Gun, Foreign Hands, Pool Kids and one off shows with Touche Amore, Botch, Better Lovers and more.

Known for fiercely passionate live performances, Roman Candle has become a vital voice in the evolving Las Vegas hardcore scene. As a femme-fronted band, Piper Ferrari brings a rare and welcome presence to the genre, challenging norms and creating space for a more inclusive scene. Alongside Jonas Vece’s cutting guitar work and atmospheric tension, the band captures a sense of urgency that’s both deeply personal and powerfully collective.

With a full-length album on the horizon and growing attention beyond their hometown, Roman Candle is shaping a future for screamo that feels just as emotionally immediate as its roots.

WORMWITCH Kicks Off Canadian Headlining Tour Tomorrow, January 22

WORMWITCH is ringing in the new year with a headlining run across Canada along with support from Vancouver's SCALDING! The trek starts tomorrow, January 22, in Ottawa, ON and will conclude on January 26 in Sherbrooke (QC). The full itinerary can be found below while tickets can be found HERE.

The band previously commented, "Wormwitch is finally making our long overdue return to the great Canadian shield, this time joined by our western brethren in Scalding. These are sure to be five frigid evenings of unhinged Canadian metal, square in the middle of what is predicted to be a particularly unforgiving winter.”

WORMWITCH will be supporting their eponymous fourth studio album, which was released on July 26, 2024 via Profound Lore Records and can be found HERE. The band is pleased to reveal that they are working on new music with an EP expected later this year!

WORMWITCH sets out to combine a melodic blackened death assault with the ferocity and attitude of crust punk and classic rock and roll, jettisoning the burdens of ceremony and pomp that dominate the genre today.

WORMWITCH Canadian Tour Dates 2026 (w/ support from Scalding):

01/22: Ottawa, ON @ Dominion

01/23: Toronto, ON @ Lee’s Palace

01/24: Montreal, QC @ Cabaret Foufs

01/25: Quebec City, QC @ L’Anti Bar

01/26: Sherbrooke, QC @ Le Murdoc

Like black wings from an obsidian sky, WORMWITCH descended from the darkness in 2015, somewhere upon the rain-soaked woodlands of coastal British Columbia. Animated from the bones of several local punk and metal bands, the new entity set out to combine a melodic blackened death assault with the ferocity and attitude of crust punk and classic rock and roll, jettisoning the burdens of ceremony and pomp that dominate the genre today.

WORMWITCH released their first demo, 'The Long Defeat' in 2015, and shortly after signed to Prosthetic Records, under whom they released 'Strike Mortal Soil' (2017), 'Heaven that Dwells Within' (2019), and 'Wolf Hex' (2021). During that time the band toured with the likes of The Black Dahlia Murder, Suffocation, Midnight, Necrot, Uada, Bewitcher, and many others, earning themselves a dedicated cult following and international critical praise. In 2022, WORMWITCH struck out to independently release a string of singles and embark upon several tours of North America. After a busy festival season, 2024 saw the release of a six-song split with Atlanta black-thrashers Sadistic Ritual.

Now, with blades meticulously honed and tempered under the light of a feral Canadian moon, WORMWITCH emerges once more to offer their fourth full length record. Simply self-titled, “Wormwitch” is a statement of a band coming into it’s own - a revelrous celebration of devilish speed, searing melody and diabolical intensity.

LEAVES’ EYES Release Epic Music Video For Title Track Of New EP “Song Of Darkness”

LEAVES’ EYES open a new chapter in 2026 with the release of their upcoming EP Song Of Darkness! The band now unveils the title track and EP opener together with an epic new video, offering the first full glimpse into this next creative cycle.

Recorded at Mastersound Studio under the production of band mastermind Alexander Krull, the EP expands the group’s trademark fusion of orchestral depth and metallic intensity. It captures LEAVES’ EYES at a moment of artistic strength, balancing sweeping symphonic arrangements with an earthy, human pulse. Lyrically, Song Of Darkness travels along the shifting borders between myth, magic, and history. The title track itself draws inspiration from the medieval Icelandic saga of Gisli the Outlaw, leading listeners into a world of murder, intrigue, guilt-ridden dreams, and the hope for redemption.

The LEAVES' EYES vocalists share about the new single:
"Our Song of Darkness transports you to a world of dark dreams and inner turmoil, where mystical spirits from ancient times guide your destiny," says Alexander Krull, and adds it's: "A tragic love story, but no happy ending.”

Elina Siirala comments: “Song of Darkness is like a play with contrasts…it combines the mysterious and dark with light and angelic. In the midst of a dark story, there’s a feeling of hopefulness! The opposing elements create once again a perfect canvas and drama for a Leaves’ Eyes song!”

Listen/Download: https://leaveseyes.rpm.link/sodsinglePR

Watch the music video Below;

Each track on Song Of Darkness unfolds like a chapter in a saga, cinematic in scale yet personal in emotion. Elina Siirala’s commanding performance brings the stories to life, illuminating the storm of sound around her, while Krull’s growls ground the music with raw force. Towering choirs and strings rise beside crushing riffs, with folk-inspired melodies weaving through the dark. From the orchestral grandeur of its opening moments to the final echo of its closing refrain, the EP builds an atmosphere defined by tension, release, and the timeless pull of legend.

With its mix of mythic storytelling, emotional depth, and powerful symphonic metal, Song Of Darkness showcases LEAVES’ EYES at full strength. The EP arrives March 6, 2026 via Reigning Phoenix Music. In support of Song Of Darkness, the band will be playing a series of European and UK dates with special guests CATALYST CRIME, and many more dates to follow. Find all upcoming shows listed below!

Via Doloris Announces Debut Album Guerre et Paix

Via Doloris is rooted in an inward journey rather than orthodoxy. Conceived in solitude and shaped by discipline, composer and multi-instrumentalist Gildas Le Pape traces a restrained and introspective path through black metal’s formal foundations, guided by melody, atmosphere and emotional clarity. He’s joined by Frost, the legendary drummer of Satyricon and 1349, who provides a sense of persistence, grounded and unyielding.

Today, Via Doloris is announcing its debut album Guerre et Paix. Positioned at the heart of the album, lead single “For the Glory” traces a slow ascent from an inner collapse to a fragile sense of self-awareness, capturing a core tension between endurance and surrender.

Watch the video for “For The Glory” Below;

Guerre et Paix comes out March 20 on Season of Mist.

Pre-order & Pre-save

“For The Glory” reflects the inward struggle that defines Guerre et Paix. The song is a confrontation with suffering that offers no clear resolution. Harmony remains intentionally unresolved, suggesting that meaning is found not in triumph, but in the act of enduring itself. This encapsulates Via Doloris’ approach to black metal: severe and disciplined in form yet fundamentally cathartic. Atmosphere, emotional release and inner clarity outweigh spectacle or excess.

Via Doloris is the vision of founder Gildas Le Pape. Through sound, he crafts a world where emotion, discipline, and atmosphere converge — a place to give shape to what cannot be spoken. Rooted in solitude and shaped by the interplay of darkness and beauty, the project confronts the gravity of existence: the quiet burdens we carry, the hidden wounds time buries deep, the road to death. This “Way of Suffering” unfolds as a passage through pain in search of meaning, and the distant, flickering promise of rebirth.
