ICE NINE KILLS Unleash Dark Homage to Batman ‘89, “The Laugh Track”

Ice Nine Kills invite you to “dance with the devil in the pale moonlight” with “The Laugh Track,” their riotous homage to Gotham City’s Clown Prince of Crime. The new song and cinematic music video riffs on the Joker, particularly as portrayed by Jack Nicholson in Tim Burton’s gothic Batman

The Laugh Track” music video welcomes Matthew Lillard (Scream, Five Nights at Freddy’s, SLC Punk) and Phil Morris(Seinfeld, Smallville, Doom Patrol) to the INKverse, alongside returning collaborator Terry Kiser (Weekend at Bernie’s, Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood, Weekend at Bernie’s II).

Stream “The Laugh Track" HERE and watch the brand new entry into the INK cinematic canon Below.

Ice Nine Kills frontman Spencer Charnas spills:

"Why be a brooding bat when you can have the last laugh? After all, Jack Nicholson got top billing in Batman '89. While Michael Keaton's haunted Bruce Wayne is outstanding, young Spencer was drawn more to the Clown Prince of Crime. 'The Laugh Track' is our homage to Tim Burton's dark and gorgeous gothic Gotham. Batman '89 took its comic book material seriously, but it was far from grounded, and never forgot to have fun. It's the same tightrope we walk in Ice Nine Kills, with broad, maniacal smiles.

“Terry Kiser returns in the video (although the rumors of Miles' demise are exaggerated). And it brings a warm human smile to my face to introduce Matthew Lillard and Phil Morris to the INKverse. Like Prince before us, 'The Laugh Track' will have you dancing with the devil in the pale moonlight."

"The Laugh Track" captures the dark theatricality, gothic ambiance, and twisted humor that made Burton's Batman a masterpiece, delivered through Ice Nine Kills' distinctive mix of intense yet melodic metal and cinematic storytelling. The track follows Billboard Hot Hard Rock Songs hit "The Great Unknown” (inspired by The Matrix) and the record-breaking "A Work of Art" from the highest-grossing unrated film ever, Terrifier 3.

Lillard crashed the Ice Nine Kills panel at this year’s Silver Scream Con to announce his entry into the INKverse. He and Spencer also revealed details about their Horrorwood Reserve collaboration, a blood colored bourbon issued in detailed collector bottles by Lillard’s Macabre Spirits.

Silver Scream Con 4 brought nearly 13,000 horror and music fans to the DCU in Worcester. Ice Nine Kills' headlining concert included guest appearances from WWE superstar Rhea Ripley and The Walking Deaddirector/producer Greg Nicotero, among others.

Horrorwood Reserve whiskey is a toast to the horror fandom that fuels both Macabre Spirits and Ice Nine Kills.Made from Bloody Butcher corn and aged five years in new American white oak, the whiskey delivers a slightly dry, nutty profile with notes of cinnamon, leather, and spice. Horrorwood Reserve boxed sets are available in two collectible, limited-edition sets: Golden Age and Silver Scream. Both sets contain a killer bottle designed by Michael Cortada of Ice Nine Kills, featuring a sleek-as-ice glass topper, along with a selection of celebrity cocktail recipe cards from Charnas and Lillard, and an epic lineup of horror icons. Horrorwood Reserve launches to the public today in very limited quantities. Head to HorrorwoodReserve.comfor more information.

“Horrorwood Reserve is the liquid soundtrack to your favorite slasher flick,” says Charnas. “It tastes like suspense, danger, and the satisfaction of surviving until the credits roll.”

Ice Nine Kills leads an unstoppable cultural empire that brings together metalheads, horror fans, and cinema lovers under one blood-soaked banner. The band will headline a When We Were Young sideshow in Las Vegas on October 17, followed by this year’s WWWY. After that, they’ll head to Europe for a headline tour, leading directly into the first-ever overseas Silver Scream Con, Silver Scream London, on December 13 and 14.

BLACK SEA OF TREES Premiere "A Red Dawn"

Traversing a forlorn sense of powerlessness juxtaposed with a ferocious intensity, "A Red Dawn" offers a commentary on human behavior throughout history as well as a search one's sense of self. The Australian progressive metal quartet BLACK SEA OF TREES are beginning their journey to unleash the second album Cult of the Sun. Listen to the first single, "A Red Dawn" HERE.

The band comments on "A Red Dawn":

"The lyrics illustrate the protagonist’s stagnant situation before being confronted by the sun god’s providence. The protagonist makes a covenant with the sun god, offering themselves in return for power to destroy their enemies and the creation of a new kingdom. The song ends with the protagonist destroying the temples of the old gods and the slaughter of those that upheld that religion."

Listen Below.

About BLACK SEA OF TREES:
Based out of Melbourne and Victoria in Australia, the progressive metal ensemble composes their music around the narrative of their releases. BLACK SEA OF TREES formed in 2018. The debut album, The Spiritual Beast, materialized in the spring of 2023. The band's forthcoming sophomore full-length is an exploration of spirituality, folklore and philosophy, with death metal, folk and ambient elements incorporated into the soundscapes. "A Red Dawn" marks the beginning of this next chapter for BLACK SEA OF TREES, introducing this next album's concept: the protagonist is chosen by god to overthrow an old kingdom in a spiritual revolution. It's a narrative that is heavily influenced by the Ancient Egyptian Pharaoh, Akhenaten and his life’s journey.

BLACK SEA OF TREES bring to life their themes and concepts through dark atmospheric tones, strong full voiced melodies, falsetto and deep growls. With songs ranging from intense 8-minute long walls of sound to 3-minute atmospheric/acoustic passages, BLACK SEA OF TREES draw inspiration from the likes of OPETH, KATATONIA, CULT OF LUNA, RUSSIAN CIRCLES, and KARNIVOOL. A wide array of styles is entwined into the outfit's distinctive and compelling sound.

NYC's Laptop announces 'I Don't Know' single & London headliner show The former Island Records outfit now bridges generations

NYC-based 2000s x-Island Records innovators Laptop return with "I Don't Know", the third single from their forthcoming album "On This Planet" (out spring 2026). Following the viral momentum of their topical, TikTok-fueled singles “Weirder” and "Additional Animals", the band delivers a sharp back-to-school anthem laced with trademark deadpan wit. Balancing childlike defiance with Orwellian unease, “I Don’t Know” doubles as personal history and protest in these authoritarian times. Both playful and unsettling, it’s another strange dispatch from life on this planet.

Laptop emerged in the early 2000s on Island Records with the cult classic albums "Opening Credits", "The Old Me vs The New You" and "Don’t Try This at Home" earning praise from NME, The Guardian, and others for its stylized blend of synth-pop, irony, and heartbreak. The cult indie project has seen a proverbial reboot as a father-son duo with Jesse Hartman now joined by his 19-year-old son Charlie Hartman. An extension of a classic band, Laptop's witty indie-pop is a logical evolution, presenting a cross-generational blend that is part indie-pop, part satire, part family therapy session.

Written years ago by Jesse Hartman and his then four-year-old after Charlie gleefully sabotaged his first standardized test, this song channels the spirit of rebellion, absurdity, and questioning authority. As the chorus shrugs: “I don’t know, I’m just a kid — thinking about silly stuff.” You can even hear 4-year-old Charlie during the intro and outro, as he and dad wrote this crazy song.

“This song has always cracked me up — Charlie was four when we came up with it, after taking an IQ test. We knew he was a child genius (for real), but he failed this test, gleefully answering every question with purposeful wrong answers or a plain "I don’t know". The song stuck with us all these years because it felt bigger: a child’s joke that is really a protest anthem. And boy, do we need a protest anthem right now. It’s rebellion by accident, which turns out to be the perfect kind,” says Jesse Hartman.

Originally tracked in Valencia, Spain during a chaotic family trip, it was later overdubbed in Nevis, in the Caribbean, before being finalized back home in New York City. Its cinematic cast includes Nevis vocalist Anna Hadeed, whose playful lines spar with Jesse and Charlie; Hartman’s daughter Lulu, standing in for young Charlie with echoes of the song’s origin; and a raw, soulful harmonica turn from Santo Fazio—an actor and longtime Hartman muse, now lending a theatrical edge to Laptop’s sound.

The video, directed by Jesse, was filmed at Bravo Studios in New York. It reimagines a classroom as a surreal stage: Jesse and Charlie at school desks, Korina Deming as the stern teacher (and also choreographer), and Stephanie Koffroth as “Lulu”. Shot against a green screen and punctuated with animated detours (based on the brilliant animation on “Weirder”), toy harmonicas, and absurdist deadpan, the origin story is transformed into a playful, cinematic echo of the song’s fever dream.

Prior to Laptop, Jesse Hartman got his start as a teenage Voidoid with Richard Hellbefore co-founding the indie rock band Sammy (with Luke Wood, later President of Beats by Dre) and releasing albums on Fire Records and Geffen Records. Known for his dry humor and cinematic aesthetic, Hartman was once described by The Guardianas the master of “insincere sincerity.”

Laptop’s reboot has already amassed millions of streams and views worldwide for“Weirder” (4M+ views), mixed by Grammy award-winning producer Mario McNulty (David Bowie, Prince, Nine Inch Nails, Julian Lennon), and "Additional Animals" (2M+ views) with Britain's Radio 6 and Radio X also lending strong support.

Laptop recently staged an epic return to New York live performance with a 14-piece band at Sony Hall — their first hometown show in two decades. This Stop Making Sense–like spectacle underscores the scale and ambition of Laptop’s reboot, setting the stage for their October 20 headliner show in London at The Waiting Room with support by Room Service.

“I Don't Know” is available on major streaming platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp. The full album "On This Planet" is forthcoming in Spring 2026.

Forbidden Release "Mutually Assured Dysfunction" Video

Bay Area thrash legends FORBIDDEN released the video for their first new song in over 15 years with "Divided By Zero" earlier this summer. Watch it here.

They follow up with the video for another new single — "Mutually Assured Dysfunction." It's a riff roarin' rager.

Watch it below

"'Mutually Assured Dysfunction' is our aggressive follow-up to 'Divided By Zero,'" the band says. "Like a crack to the skull, it lands hard. It's about the DNA of endless arguments that people engage in. Sound bites over substance. This rationale is based upon the M.A.D. agreement of Rational Actors: A doctrine that assumes world leaders will be rational and self-preserving. Therefore, they will avoid any actions that would lead to their own country's demise. This leap of faith leads to the kind of dysfunction that will ultimately lead to our destruction as a species."

A crack to the skull — in more ways than one!

The band's forthcomingtour dates are below.

FORBIDDEN LIVE:
10/12 — Grita Festival — Manizales, Columbia

FORBIDDEN ARE:
Norman Skinner — Vocals
Craig Locicero — Guitar
Dan Mongrain — Guitar
Matt Camacho — Bass
Chris Kontos — Drums

ABOUT FORBIDDEN:
Forbidden were founded in 1985 as Forbidden Evil by singer Russ Anderson and guitarists Craig Locicero and Robb Flynn, bassist John Tegio, and drummer Jim Pittman while in their respective Fremont California High Schools. The quintet started playing house parties and Bay Area clubs such as the Legendary Ruthie’s Inn soon after. After a couple of lineup changes (Paul Bostaph/drums and Matt Camacho/bass) in '86, the band quickly rose through the ranks of Bay Area Thrash to gain a following and notoriety.

Flynn joined VIO-LENCE late '86, and Glen Alvelais was added as the second guitarist. It was this lineup that cemented itself into the Bay Area scene and soon after recorded 1988 release Forbidden Evil for Combat Records. After signing with Combat, the band decided that taking the "Evil" out of the name left them more options and leeway for a future without negative stigma or limitations. In 1989, they started the writing process for their second release, Twisted Into Form, released in April of 1990. This album landed more of a spotlight on the band with its critical acclaim. They supported the album with extensive tours with another legendary Bay Area Thrash band — Death Angel. Both outfits were riding a wave of critical acclaim and solid album sales through the Golden Age of Thrash Metal 1990.

In 1991, Forbidden began working on their third offering, compiling over 2 albums worth of material, which eventually became 1994's Distortion on G.U.N. Records. The band would tour throughout 1994 and 1995, with both Testament and Malevolent Creation. The industry's climate and lack of interest for thrash metal  in the mid-90s left the band frustrated and the writing during this era became their fourth album, Green, in 1996, which also led to their eventual breakup of Forbidden in 1997.

Remaining dormant until 2008 when, at the screening of the movie Get Thrashed, Locicero became inspired and contacted the band to reunite. Calvert (then an airline pilot) and Bostaph (Testament's then-drummer) weren't available, After a few lineup changes, the band recorded their 2010 comeback album Omega Wave. After touring stateside with Overkill, as well as a headline run and multiple festivals worldwide, including Santiago Chile's Metal Fest, the band faced further line up changes, and with that, the band dissolved again for another 11 years.

Fast forward to 2023, Forbidden reformed with original members Craig Locicero and Matt Camacho and Omega Wave-era guitarist Steve Smyth. Bay Area native Norman Skinner took on the role of vocalist, thrash punk drum legend Chris Kontos joined in on drums, and Forbidden was officially reborn. Their first appearance back would be Belgium's Alcatraz Metal Festival in 2023. They closed out 2023 with two sold-out performances in the Bay Area supporting the annual Death Angel Christmas Shows. 2024 saw Forbidden performing multiple festivals across the U.S. and Europe before the departure of Smyth, and the welcomed entrance of Daniel "Chewy" Mongrain.

Forbidden surged into 2025 with a singular goal in mind, writing new Forbidden music. This chapter has brought some of their most incredible songwriting yet, with the first new song "Divided By Zero" released in June 2025. Look for more new Forbidden Music in 2026!

LA dreamwave duo LUCKYANDLOVE shares 'Secret Is Out', final single from 'Humaura' album

In the home-stretch to their third album 'Humaura', electro-wave outfit LUCKYANDLOVE share the wonderfully kinetic 'Secret Is Out', an anguished theme of sacrifice, where the protagonist moves from the safety of darkness into the stark glow of discovery, the song's swirling sonic textures leading to the next high-speed beat.

LUCKYANDLOVE is the raw sonic experiment of Los Angeles-based artists Loren Luck and April Love, whose music transcends genres. Their live analog synth beats, Moog instrumentation and beautiful, harmonic vocals trigger an immediate download of fuzzy sunset synthgaze, blue-black neon darkwave, and tigerprint electro punk. With this new single, the duo weaves in and out of the shadows in a back-and-forth clandestine love affair with attention-grabbing percussion and pitch-bending strings.

'Secret Is Out' generates anticipation, the bass rising and beats prowling around before exploding into stabbing synths and overdriven analog-filter sweeps. With enchanting wistful vocals, the bell tones build to climatic sawtooth screams. Its driving pulse of drum, bass and growling synthesizers create a thrilling sense of flight—a sonic getaway. At its core, the song tells a doomed romance: a bloodsucker's devotion that must be abandoned upon exposure to the light.

"This is a story is of a love-stricken vampire, where love is tragic when caught in the sun; out of the shadows into the black light— love just must be withdrawn once the vampire’s secret is out. The track is chopped full of drum and bass, growling synths with time to hear oscillating swirls take you around till the next groove of the motorcycle escape," says April Love.

“This track laments in a kind of romantic science-fiction story painting - a picture of a break up and make up cycle of two people, a break up and make up cycle of a scene, ultimately leading to their exodus from a futuristic city."

Loren Luck adds, “It's freeing to let those secrets out and get honest with ourselves. No matter who we are, it’s okay to be ourselves. Mixed feelings about how to handle the situation. It’s just a story of how to escape from the lies. The song has a lot of parts and break downs. Lying hurts people. I like the growling synth that comes up from the low end. This is our fastest song with some calming moments.”

Released by SRD - Southern Record Distributors, 'Humaura' (pronounced "hu • mau • ra" and defined by the duo as the atmosphere that emanates from the feelings of the human spirit void of technological control), follows their latest sultry offering 'Lonely At Night' with its melancholic dream state of layered sounds, and the atomic anthem ‘I Am Human’, fused together with pulsating molten kicks, fuzzed-out analog synths and sensual vocals.

This album was recorded, mixed and mastered for digital release by Grammy award-winning engineer Be Hussey (Modern English, Swervedriver, The Church, Alcest, Twin Tribes, Boy Harsher, Luna, Kim Deal) at Balboa Studio and Catwater for the digital music, and mastered for vinyl and lathe cut by Grammy-nominated engineer Nicholas Townsend (Cheap Trick, Weezer, Garbage, Dr. Dre, 2Pac, Grimes, Iron Maiden) at Townsend Mastering.

LUCKYANDLOVE’s visceral, urgently-present dark electro-pop appeal continues to stretch through time and space. Their 'Lucky + Love' and 'Transitions' albums earned them a global fan following and led to US and UK tours, while their tracks 'It's a Mistake', 'Animal' and 'Summertime Frolic' appeared in the film 'Tiger Within' (Ed Asner's final performance), featuring music supervised by Tony Knox, DJ at KXLU's No More Heroes show.

Blending raw analog synth sounds with driving punctuated percussion and punchy analog bass, the compositions on ‘Humaura’ feature enchanting lyrics rooted in emotions ranging from melancholy and sorrowful glom to a state of blissful trance. Shaped by the embers of Siouxsie and The Banshees, Cocteau Twins, and Bauhaus, resonant specters carry over from synth-laden galaxies, where the needle hit the vinyl groove and Doc Martens marched to basement dance floors.

As of October 7, 'Secret Is Out' is available on all music platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp.  The 'Humaura' album will be released digitally and on vinyl on October 31, and can be ordered from the LUCKYANDLOVE Store or Bandcamp.

LUCKYANDLOVE will hold their record release party is October 11 at The Slipper Clutch in LA via Deathrecordzz Presents, with appearances by Warsaw Pact, Amore De Paris, No Exits, and a DJ set by Echolust. On December 13, they also perform Mohave Gold Bar in Yucca Valley, California for Luna Negra Goth Nights Presents, along with BLAKLIGHT and Dead Energy.

Loverboy Kicking Off Fall Dates, Winter Dates

Canadian Music Hall of Famer's LOVERBOY are on the road again this fall, wrapping up a year of successful shows across the US and Canada. LOVERBOY is due to support Styx on the upcoming "Rockin' In Paradise with Styx & Friends" show this Friday October 10th, with more dates supporting the legendary band and headlining shows throughout November and December. Full tour dates below.

One of Canada’s greatest rock exports LOVERBOY continue to be just as relevant to today’s audience as they were over 45 years ago, when vocalist Mike Reno was first introduced to local guitar legend Paul Dean, both veterans of bands on the local Calgary scene, eventually joined by keyboardist Doug Johnson, drummer Matt Frenette and bassist Kenneth “Spider” Sinnaeve, who replaced the late founding member Scott Smith in 2000.

And, in most recent years, LOVERBOY and their music, have appeared in high profile national ads such as Radio Shack, Enterprise’s National Car Rental (with a cameo with Patrick Warburton) and IHOP. For the IHOP campaign, LOVERBOY created a new version of their iconic song, “Working for the Weekend” – only now, everyone’s “Working for the Weekday.” The partnership came to life via a bespoke music video, in which IHOP’s very own Syrup Caddies perform the re-recorded song and star in a remake of the original, classic music video.

With their trademark red leather pants, bandannas, big rock sound and high-energy live shows, LOVERBOY has sold more than 15 million albums, earning four multi-platinum plaques, including the four-million-selling “Get Lucky,” and a trio of double-platinum releases in their self-titled 1980 debut, 1983’s Keep It Up and 1985’s Lovin’ Every Minute of It. Their string of hits includes, in addition to the anthem “Working for the Weekend,” such arena rock staples as “Lovin’ Every Minute of It,” “This Could Be the Night,” “Hot Girls in Love,” “The Kid is Hot Tonite,” “Notorious”, “Turn Me Loose,” “When It’s Over,” “Heaven In Your Eyes” and “Queen of the Broken Hearts.”

The Wait Is Over – DETHFX Debut Album Antiutopia Has Arrived!

After nearly three years in the making, Orlando-based metal juggernaut DETHFX proudly unleashes their debut album, Antiutopia. Out now on all major platforms, the record delivers seven tracks of unrelenting groove, razor-sharp riffs, and pure sonic devastation.

Most of the album was tracked at The 1885 in Cincinnati, OH—a historic church-turned-studio helmed by Jasen Wilson, who also mixed and produced the record. The result is an album that blends crushing heaviness with a larger-than-life atmosphere, capturing the raw intensity of DETHFX’s live sound.

“We poured everything into this record. It’s heavy, it’s chaotic, and it’s 100% us,” says the band. “This is the beginning of our world. Welcome to Antiutopia.”

With seven punishing tracksAntiutopia takes listeners through a sonic apocalypse. Relentless grooves collide with thrash aggression and modern heaviness, all wrapped in a crystal-clear production that refuses to compromise.

The band extends massive gratitude to those that supported us, such as Max NormanBill HudsonMike LepondJohnnie G at Sound Exchange, and especially Jasen Wilson, whose vision and dedication helped bring Antiutopia to life.

Antiutopia is available worldwide on all streaming platforms.

Formed in Orlando, Florida in 2021, DETHFX quickly earned a reputation as “Death’s Favorite Band,” delivering a sound that hits like a dump truck driving 100 miles an hour off a cliff.

The lineup—Brett Kaffenberger (bass)Rob Tetro (drums)Rod Mariani (lead guitar), and Raul Salas (guitar/vocals)—draws influence from metal titans Slayer, Pantera, Black Sabbath, and Iron Maiden, while injecting a fresh, aggressive energy that redefines modern metal.

Live, DETHFX is an onslaught—dynamic changes, tight harmonies, and infectious grooves executed with surgical precision and raw intensity. Every show is an event: aggressive, technical, and unforgettable.

In 2025, DETHFX dropped their debut single “Recycled Souls”, setting the stage for Antiutopia and daring listeners to survive the ride.

ABOUT I SEE STARS

Somehow, it’s been nearly a decade since the last I See Stars album. There have, however, been a few hints and glimpses of it over the past couple of years. In 2023, the electronicore pioneers released four songs: AnomalyDriftare we 3ven and D4MAGE DONE, while in 2024 they put out SPLIT. While all five songs do appear on this record, they only revealed a fraction of what the band—these days comprised of Brent Allen (guitar), Andrew Oliver (keyboards/programming), Devin Oliver (clean and unclean vocals) and Jeff Valentine (bass)—had in store. Because THE WHEEL, the band’s sixth full-length, is an album in the truest sense of the word, one designed to be listened to in full from beginning to end, and which truly immerses you in its world when you do. It’s the product of a lot of patience, a lot of care, a lot of time, some of which was by design, some of which was out of the band’s control.

After releasing Treehouse in 2016 and then touring on it, I See Stars did actually start working on a new album, but when Covid hit, they scrapped pretty much all of it to instead sharpen their focus. There was, after all, nothing but time, so the band decided to spend it making a record that lived up to their own expectations and which fully matched their artistic vision.

“It gave us the opportunity to take a step back and really dive into what we wanted to actually dig in and write,” says Jeff. “Not that what was done before was bad, but this gave the four of us an opportunity to sit in a room with each other and just write.

As such, THE WHEEL is a fully-formed living memory of both of those eras, and one that places the listener right there with the band. “It's really kind of a special piece,” continues Devin, “and you feel that in the journey when you're listening to the album front to back. You feel us swimming in the mystery of what life was doing and where it was taking us.

Produced by David Bendeth, and mostly mixed by Zakk Cervini—though Tom Norris also worked on a couple of tracks—THE WHEEL took on a life of its own when the band started making it. The album begins with Spin It, which is simply the sound of a wheel being spun. It’s not just for aesthetic purposes, though. In the studio each day, the band would spin a web-based digital wheel to determine which song they would work on, but it was also a way to add some levity to the creative process.

“We would throw all the songs onto this website wheel,” remembers Andrew, “as well as some dumb, totally not creative thing in there that would like sidetrack us—but purposefully. It was this comedic approach that we were taking every day, where whatever the wheel told us to do, we’d do. It had these zany sound effects, but also created this weird vibe where we were like ‘We've just got to trust fate here.’ We're all obsessed with fate and letting things happen as they might, so the sound effect was an obvious thing for us to include—and then it took shape into a much larger concept.”

“What I really loved about the wheel concept,” adds Devin, “was it wasn't our choice. It was our choice to leave it to chance, yes, but we trusted the universe to point us in the right direction by spinning the wheel. It started off as a joke, but turned into this thing that became really important for us.”

Beyond the idea of fate and purpose, there are some other complex and deeply personal themes on this record. The yearning, tragedy-laced carry on for you—undoubtedly one of the saddest, most beautiful songs on the record—was written after Devin and Andrew lost their uncle to pancreatic cancer, while a number of the other songs detail Devin’s struggle with a condition called intracranial hypertension that’s caused as a result of too much fluid in the brain.

“It made me very familiar with the hospital,” says Devin. “I was hospitalized for months on end and that lasted for about two years of my life. So a lot of this record is about that. I don't deal with the chronic pain that I had from that anymore, and some would say the condition is in remission, but it's really hard for me to listen to some of these songs—truly—because there were a lot of moments writing this record where I didn't want to be alive. That's really hard for me to admit, because I'm not that person who talks about this stuff openly. I talk about it through our music—my traumas come out through my artistic expression. So listening to the record really gets emotional for me, because I'm not in the same place I once was. I'm super grateful to not be in all that pain.”

It all combines to make a record that’s as cerebral as it is visceral, as vulnerable as it is powerful, and as pure as anything I See Stars have made in their almost two-decade long career. After a long time in stasis, it’s clear to hear just how rejuvenated and refreshed they are, even as final track Curtain Call speeds off into the distance. That song is, as Devin calls it, “a wheel of emotion”, and ends with a question (well, two) repeated over and over again: ‘Will you ever love? Will you ever love me?’ “'Curtain Call' is tapping on every fucking thing we talked about on the whole record in one song,” says Devin. “It's almost like the wheel spinning in song form—it keeps turning round and is just racing through time and emotions. And the question we ask at the end of the song has a lot to do with the band. Will I ever be enough as an artist? Will the fans ever see us for everything we've put into this, which essentially at this point is our entire lives?”

Even just one listen to this record and it’s pretty clear that the answer to both those questions is a resounding yes.

With a shared love for the tradition of Renaissance and Folk-Rock music, legendary guitarist Ritchie Blackmore and award-winning lyricist and singer Candice Night founded Blackmore’s Night in 1997. They have been enchanting audiences around the world eversince. Blackmore’s Night defines its music as Renaissance Folk-Rock - a unique and original genre of music inspired by the melodies and the tradition of the Renaissance period, translated into contemporary music. This is the timeless sound of Blackmore’s Night. And what a success it has been, since it all started…

In 1997 Blackmore’s Night released their debut album, “Shadow Of The Moon”, which immediately went gold in Japan and earned awards worldwide.

What followed was a success story that is one of its kind. After hitting off the celebrations for their 25th anniversary with a fully remixed edition of their debut album “Shadow Of The Moon” in 2023, Candice and Ritchie continued the festivities with the worldwide release of an anniversary edition of their acclaimed 3rd studio album “Fires At Midnight” in 2024. Originally released in July 2001, “Fires At Midnight” entered the Official German Album Charts at #9 in 2001, making it Blackmore’s Night’s first record to hit the Top 10 Charts in Germany. The band’s latest studio album “Nature’s Light” brought Blackmore’s Night back to the German Top 10 (#7) and it has reinforced the relationship with the fanbase all over the world.

Meanwhile, their devoted fan base has been growing exponentially as the band continues performing their mystical music for all ages. From grandparents to children, everyone is enjoying their medieval mood music and gypsy dances. Clearly, the music of Blackmore’s Night connects with fans on a deep level, allowing them to experience an entirely different era of merriment. In the age of digital music, new fans discover Blackmore’s Night every single day; making the band possibly the most streamed artist of its genre. At the helm of this band, is award winning lyricist and vocalist, Candice Night, who not only contributes her unique, entrancing vocals, but deftly navigates seven medieval woodwinds, including chanters, shawms, pennywhistles and recorders. Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee and celebrated guitarist, Ritchie Blackmore, who traverses between acoustic and electric guitar, mandolin, mandola and hurdy gurdy. Further enhancing the band’s inspired sound are keyboardist/back-up vocalist Bard David; violinist Scarlett Fiddler; back-up vocalist/rhythm guitar, Lady Jessie; bassist/rhythmic guitarist Earl Grey; and percussionist Troubadour of Aberdeen. With lyrics penned by Night, the collective embraces the aura of the old-world inn, from madrigals and ballads to good old-fashioned Renaissance-inspired pub songs.

Their sold-out concerts in castles and UNESCO sites worldwide are filled with thousands of fans dressed in Renaissance garb, dancing and singing as if time stood still. No clocks… no pressure… just the gaiety and camaraderie of a medieval pub. Everyone joins in and loses their stress in the music. The recent induction of Blackmore’s Night into the ‘Long Island Music & Entertainment Hall of Fame’ is yet another testament to their incredible artistry. In addition to her work with Blackmore’s Night, Candice Night released her deeply personal solo album “Sea Glass” in 2025. A collection of heartfelt songs inspired by life, love, and reflection, the album showcases her captivating vocals and intimate songwriting in a more contemporary setting. “Sea Glass” has already touched fans worldwide, offering yet another dimension of Candice’s artistry beyond the Renaissance-inspired world of Blackmore’s Night.

Last important note from Candice and Ritchie: “We feel very strongly about helping local no- kill animal shelters. So, wherever we play, we always invite a local animal shelter or animal rescue organization to set up a donation table at our concert.” Organizations attending the shows of the fall tour will be announced soon.

Shoegaze-dreamrock artist Dotsun Moon releases 'Moments In The Sun' EP with video

Upstate New York-based artist Dotsun Moon presents their latest 'Moments In The Sun' EP,  a blissful and grounding collection for troubled times - four tracks inspired by self-reflection and nostalgia for the music that motivated this artist to write music in the first place.

Based in Buffalo, Dotsun Moon is the creative wellspring of Richard Flierl, whose musical visions flow through his music even now, several incarnations on since the band released their debut album 4 A.M. in 2011. The trajectory remains steadfast on a path of dreamy offerings over the years, with this multi-instrumentalist also gradually assuming vocal duties.

Dotsun Moon also shares the video for 'Army of Me'. Navigating and overcoming adversity. this song starts with a piano riff hinting at Erik Satie before bursting into Will Sergeant-esque guitar bends.

"During difficult times, it takes all one’s effort to push outward and connect with someone or else succumb to the isolation that so much of society has compounded with technology. Use that same tech to make personal connections. If a person just hopes without acting, they are “staring in the sun.” They are expecting the tech to take care of them," says Richard Flierl.

Offering shoegaze and dreampop for here and now, this EP pays homage to the numerous pioneers of the early days of post-punk and dream pop. Engineered and mastered by Doug White at Watchmen Studios in Lockport, NY, this EP was mixed by Richard Flierl and Doug White.

Richard Flierl adds, "This is not for the casual listener and I mean that in the best of ways. Listen to these songs at least 2-3 times and let them sink in. These songs take a slower pace to help the lyrics resonate. Weather and love, for another or oneself, are the common themes between these songs,"

The title track 'Moments In The Sun', through the intertwining of synth and guitar, offers a soothing balm for a weary mind with its sense of melancholic hope, echoing the sentiment of friends navigating an overwhelming world in search of human connection. 'Winter Streets' captures the spirit of a harsh Buffalo winter, evolving from quiet sounds to a burst of energy that embodies resilience against "cabin fever". 'Piano Trailer 5' is an homage to Harold Budd and his album with Brian Eno.

Earlier this year, Dotsun Moon released his third album 'Tiger', which differs markedly from previous works having moved away from female vocals. Evoking both euphoria and a poignant sense of grounding, Dotsun Moon brings you this compelling and unique exploration through this album and videos for the lush singles 'Save Us', 'Never Had a Heart', 'Bring Love' and 'Give Up The Tears'.

Over the years, Dotsun Moon has performed with such notable artists as Mary Ognibene (The Lovely Intangibles) and Buffalo Music Hall of Famer Maria Sebastian, having also played shows with Joywave, Vanishing Kids and The Lost Patrol, not to mention Pride Festival.

The 'Moments In The Sun' EP is out now, available from fine music platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp, where the 'Tiger' album can also be found.

JELLY ROLL TOPS THE COUNTRY RADIO CHARTS WITH EIGHTH CONSECUTIVE #1 - “HEART OF STONE”

With 21 genre-spanning Award wins and four GRAMMY nominations, Jelly Roll earns his eighth consecutive #1 at country radio with the powerful single Heart of Stone.” Featured on his critically acclaimed sophomore country album, Beautifully Broken, that debuted at #1 on the Billboard200 chart (all-genre), the vulnerable track finds a man pleading for redemption and rescue from his past mistakes. Following the album’s previous chart-toppers, like the beautifully crafted “I Am Not Okay” and the fiery “Liar” that dominated the country radio chart for six-straight weeks, the spurring “Heart of Stone” was written by Jelly with Zach Crowell, Blake Pendergrass and Shy Carter.

Currently nominated at this year’s CMA Awards on November 19 for his and Brandon Lake’s “Hard Fought Hallelujah,” Jelly Roll performed the hard-hitting duet as a part of the first concert at St. Peter's Square, Grace for the World: The Live Event in Rome, which took place September 13 (Watch Below) and was co-directed by global visionary Pharrell Williams and legendary Maestro Andrea Bocelli. The concert took place as Jelly celebrated the closing weekend of Post Malone’s BIG ASS World Tour on September 14 in Portugal.

From headlining Stagecoach and making his acting debut in the CBS drama, Fire Country, to being the first-ever “Artist In Residence” on this past season of American Idol and headlining Music City Rodeo - Nashville's very first PRCA Rodeo - in May, to opening his Goodnight Nashville Bar on Broadway in the heart of Nashville, the genre-defying phenomenon has had a busy 2025 to say the least.

Next up, he’s a 3x nominee at the Dove Awards airing this Friday, October 10 on TBN, as “Hard Fought Hallelujah” is up for Song of the Year, Bluegrass/Country/Roots Recorded Song of the Year, and Short Form Music Video of the Year (Performance).

Kaupe - Destroyer of Worlds

From the swamps of Deland, Florida, a sonic storm brews, one forged in technical fury and melodic defiance. KAUPE, the progressive instrumental metal unit known for their dense arrangements and atmospheric scope, return with their third and most daring full-length to date: Destroyer of Worlds, out October 17, 2025 via Morbid Subculture.

Formed in 2016 by guitarist Brett Walker (BLOODLET, JUNIOR BRUCE) and drummer Marc Larabel, KAUPE quickly expanded with the additions of Pete Medrano on bass and Patrick Ross on keys. Their music has always defied easy categorization, blending influences like FAITH NO MORE, MESHUGGAH, DEFTONES, and even synthwave pioneers like PERTURBATOR and CARPENTER BRUT. The result is a uniquely visual, cinematic sound: massive, intricate, and emotional, all without relying on traditional vocals. Until now.

Destroyer of Worlds marks a bold evolution. For the first time, KAUPE invited voices into their dystopian soundscape, including Scott Angelacos (BLOODLET, JUNIOR BRUCE, HOLLOW LEG) on the blistering “RMR-1029” and Matt Decker (TANGENT, GINKO BALBOA) on the thrash-forward “Next Time Wear a Black Shirt.” Sample artist Viewer Discretion (formerly of ACP PRO) lends his textural collage work to key tracks, warping real-world commentary into surreal commentary on modern decay.

The album opens with “The Past Will Own You,” a sample-driven instrumental that sets the tone for what’s to come: crushing grooves, layered synths, and an ominous atmosphere that feels equal parts sci-fi and spiritual collapse. “Living Among the Dead” follows with over 70 recorded tracks: an orchestration of chaos that caused mixing engineer Stephen Sheppert (RADIENT KNIFE) to lovingly scold the band for exceeding the original mix estimate. The song pushes and pulls between moments of clarity and total darkness, offering the album’s most cinematic arc.

“Unresolved Trauma,” once joined with “RMR-1029,” became its own beast during writing. Influenced by THE MARS VOLTA and CAR BOMB, it charges forward with compressed intensity, every second packed with purpose. The title track, “Destroyer of Worlds,” emerges like a machine uprising. Built on off-time dissonance reminiscent of BLOODLET, the song’s polyrhythmic solo section pulses through time signatures like 6/4, 5/4, and 4/4, an apocalyptic overture for the digital age. It’s a metaphor for modern decay: technology, media, and dopamine-fueled consumption tearing apart the very fabric of human interaction.

Then comes the shift. “Next Time Wear a Black Shirt,” a 2:31 eruption of punk-thrash with Matt Decker on vocals, adds a jolt of life. The title, a joke about fashion faux pas at a metal show, hides a song about the quiet importance of simple requests in life’s final moments. From there, the album plunges into darker terrain with “All That’s Left Is Sin,” a blast of aggression softened by haunting synth drones. “The Joy of Sorrow” rides a pendulum between Meshuggah-like precision and sweeping, emotional release, showcasing the band’s unique ability to make technicality feel heartfelt.

But it’s “RMR-1029” that may linger longest in listeners’ heads. Scott Angelacos roars prophetic lines, “Quantum computing will be the key to make better pornography," while Viewer Discretion’s audio collage builds a dystopian narrative of technological dependency. It’s heavy, it’s unnerving, and it feels real.

The final track, “Rosen Bridge,” was originally an interlude but became something greater, a quiet moment of cosmic optimism in an otherwise bleak journey. The dueling guitar and keyboard solos feel like a conversation between machines that finally understand emotion, much like “Transitioning” from Cognitive Dissonance.

Destroyer of Worlds is the culmination of everything KAUPE has built since their debut The Depths in 2018. It’s heavier. It’s darker. It’s more experimental. It features a powerhouse mix by Stephen Sheppert (RADIANT KNIFE), and mastering from legendary engineer Alan Douches (CONVERGE, DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN). It abandons conventional timing and form in favor of evolution, risk, and emotional release.

For fans of CONVERGE, DEFTONES, TOOL, CARPENTER BRUT, or anyone who’s ever found comfort in the beautiful chaos of sound, Destroyer of Worlds offers something rare: a metal record that doesn’t just rage, it thinks.

About KAUPE:

KAUPE is an instrumental progressive metal band from Deland, Florida that has spent the last decade forging a sound as ferocious as it is cinematic. Formed in 2016 by guitarist Brett Walker (BLOODLET, JUNIOR BRUCE) and drummer Marc Larabel, the band was born from a desire to create music that tells stories without words, narratives carved into melody, rhythm, and atmosphere. Soon joined by bassist Pete Medrano and keyboardist Patrick Ross, KAUPE solidified into a unit intent on pushing sonic boundaries.

Drawing influence from an eclectic range of artists: FAITH NO MORE, MESHUGGAH, DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN, CARPENTER BRUT, DEFTONES, PALLBEARER, and more, KAUPE crafts music that defies traditional genre expectations. Though most often labeled “progressive metal,” their compositions bend and blend metal, punk, new wave, synth, and even classical elements into sweeping instrumentals full of tension and release. With every release, the band explores new terrain, always moving forward, never nostalgic, and never comfortable.

Their debut The Depths (2018) introduced KAUPE’s penchant for intricate grooves and immersive soundscapes. Cognitive Dissonance (2021) expanded their sonic range and earned praise for its synth-laced melodies and dynamic storytelling. But it’s their upcoming third full-length, Destroyer of Worlds (2025), that fully realizes the band’s vision. For the first time, KAUPE features guest vocalists and sample artists, including: Scott Angelacos (BLOODLET, JUNIOR BRUCE, HOLLOW LEG), Matt Decker (TANGENT, GINKO BALBOA), and Viewer Discretion (formerly of ACP PRO). The result is their heaviest and darkest album yet: a dystopian exploration of modern life and technological dependency, engineered with precision and emotional depth.

Whether performing alongside icons like CYNIC, ANDREW WK, or VIRGIL DONATI, or building immersive sonic worlds in the studio, KAUPE brings unmatched chemistry and purpose to everything they create. Their live shows are celebrated for their energy and musicianship, offering a rare kind of instrumental storytelling that transcends words and speaks directly to the subconscious.

KAUPE is not revivalist. KAUPE is not retro. KAUPE is a glimpse into the sonic future, one shaped by distortion, dissonance, and the haunting beauty of what comes next.

KAUPE is:

  • Brett Walker – Guitar

  • Marc Larabel – Drums

  • Pete Medrano – Bass

  • Patrick Ross – Keys

Dark Folk Act GREET To Unveil 'I Know How To Die'

I Know How To Die is the debut full-length album from Leeds, UK, based songsmith GREET (aka Matthew Broadley). The enchanting dark folk sound evokes the dynamic, awe-inspiring and untamable landscape found in surrounding county of Yorkshire. GREET blurs the lines of traditional folk and drone, diving further into the worlds between reality and fantasy. Through this is created a wonderfully unique cinematic and doom laden atmosphere.

I know how to die,
Yet I am here still, battle worn,
My purpose not fulfilled.
A song is calling and still,
I am here

I Know How To Die was written and self recorded at Matthew’s humble home surroundings in Leeds, UK, over the early months of 2025, with additional Violin by Simon Barr on "Eulogy" and Poem reading by Steve Von Till on "Keening". Working in close collaboration once again with mix & mastering engineer David Campbell and photographer Richard Newby to bring the final vision to life. I Know How To Diewill be released on October 17th, 2025, on limited edition vinyl via Fiadh Productions in the US.

About GREET:
Through GREET, Matthew Broadley brings to life an ethereal sound through the use of harmonium, intense percussion and powerful droning arrangements. Furthermore, flute, bells, strings and guitars act as sonic agents transporting between realms of battles, taverns and woodlands.

GREET emerged in 2024 and released two EPs, Harmonium 1 and Harmonium 2 in the same year via Fiadh Productions. Live shows with ONE LEG ONE EYE, STEVE VON TILL and ORA COGAN have seen GREET mesmerize audiences. In 2025 GREET made an appearance at Roadburn, along with an array of other weird and wonderful folk festivals of the UK, which has led to a fast-growing following.

Creeper Share "Prey for the Night" Video

CREEPER's Sanguivore proved to be their most career-defining album to date, propelling them to their biggest headline show at the OVO Wembley Arena.

Their new album SANGUIVORE II: MISTRESS OF DEATHwhich will be released on Halloween (October 31) goes deeper into that narrative. After enamoring devotees and newcomers alike with the double shot of tracks "Headstones" and "Blood Magick (It's A Ritual)," CREEPER continue to cast a spell of anticipation with the new single "Prey For The Night."

Watch it below.

Throwback darkwave synth stabs flail into the darkness as "Prey For The Night" gets underway, with William von Ghould's sinister baritone setting the scene. From there, it becomes a characteristically lavish and larger-than-life sound, blending classic '80s hard rock riffage, a searing Steinman-esque chorus, theatrical vocal interplay with keyboardist Hannah Greenwood, and a blast of saxophone. Even the title is possessed by a devilishly dark double meaning.

CREEPER's ambition is to always go bigger, grander and more unpredictable than before — and that's what they've achieved with SANGUIVORE II: MISTRESS OF DEATH. The story follows a British rock band immersed in the decadence of an American tour at the height of the Satanic Panic of the '80s. Yet each stop leaves fresh decay in the shape of a mysterious trail of deceased fans. The world is quick to lay blame at the bloodied hands of the band, but there's more to this story than is first apparent… enter the ruthless hunter, Mistress Of Death, who is on their trail with all axe and no mercy.

The album is bookended with narratives from, good friend of the band, Patricia Morrison (Sisters Of Mercy and The Damned). and the strings come courtesy of the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra.

CREEPER have raided the abyss to present a range of collectible curiosities for SANGUIVORE II: MISTRESS OF DEATH, which are available HERE.

Physical formats include blood red and full moon white vinyl formats, both of which will soon sell-out their limited edition runs — a SANGUIVORE double-bill cassette housed in an old school VHS case has already sold-out. New merch designs are just as imaginative, led by a "Mistress of Death" embroidered bomber jacket and a "SANGUIVORE 666" ice hockey shirt.

This year has already seen CREEPER complete sold-out UK headline shows as well as storm festivals from Rock Am Ring/Rock Am Park and Graspop through to Bloodstock and Tomorrow’s Ghosts. Next up is a run of shows as special guests to Ice Nine Kills.

CREEEPER will also appear at the MCM Comic Con at London's ExCel on October 25. Their social media mistress Darcia, The Vampire Familiar will host a live panel to discuss the new album, and they will also participate in a meet-and-greet signing session.

Creeper will tour the UK as special guest to Ice Nine Kills in December. The dates are below.
