OLD MACHINES Unleash First Single from The Cycles of Extinction

Cosmic harbingers OLD MACHINES are excited to announce their debut album,The Cycles of Extinction, out August 22nd, 2025. Their first single, "The Sundering of the Irradiated Sons, and the Rebellion Sparked by the Gene-Plague", is out now.

The song tells a story of The Irradiated Suns, once heroes of war, and their spiral into chaos as overpopulation and bloodlust render them uncontrollable. Sterilized by a gene plague, they now roam as deadly mercenaries seeking purpose. Musically, the track blends thrash, black, and death metal with catchy 90s power metal flair—delivering a triumphant yet grim anthem that's become a fan favorite and the band's first single.

OLD MACHINES comments on the album and what lies ahead for the band, stating "This is not a little project we began for fun, but a journey we intend to embark on together.  Some members might come and go as years pass, but the members of the band Old Machines will remain as a collective to warn society of the dangers the real Old Machines present to all living organic life.  Nobody ever knows when they will break free from hibernation, as these are only rumors we pick up from the cosmos.  What we do know is that we have already begun recording Act III and that we will do our best to HOLD THE LINE against these unholy terrors from the black abysmal vortex."

About OLD MACHINES:

From the darkest depths of the oceans of time and space comes a legend over two billion years old, which has spawned a multitude of harrowing galactic sagas. These stories arrive to us in the form of the debut album from OLD MACHINES titled The Cycles of Extinction, featuring eight songs regarding mysterious, malevolent horrors, which create the very extinction cycles all organic life forms are forever trapped in.  These are tales of horror, war, and genocide, spanning eight tracks for one hour of music which can be described as Extreme Cosmic Metal; combining elements of thrash, death, black, and power metal.  If any of this story sounds familiar, it may be because we have re-conceptualized plots from our favorite video games with a series of concept albums in chronological order, while musically, for now, being in the vein of bands such as BAL SAGOTH, EMPEROR, LIMBONIC ART, OBSIDIAN GATE, combined with the story-telling element of BLIND GUARDIAN. The Cycles of Extinction will be the first in a series of concept albums from OLD MACHINES, an ongoing project with current and former members of OXYGEN DESTROYER, SKELETAL REMAINS, SILVER TALON, THIRSTING ALTAR, and DOMINUS NOX. There will be more of such epics in this fashion because...extinction...is only the beginning....

OLD MACHINES is:

  • Gary Reavis - Vocals

  • Jason Stares - Keyboards

  • Brian Rush - Guitar

  • Devon Miller - Guitar

  • Joel Henigson - Bass

  • Chris Craven - Drums

NJ Music Community Rallies for Tim Cronin (Monster Magnet, Ribeye Brothers) – June 22 Benefit Show in Long Branch, NJ

Earlier this year, Tim Cronin, original Monster Magnet member, beloved Ribeye Brother, and cherished Jack's Record Shoppe stalwart, was diagnosed with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis). Now, he needs our support. Join us on Sunday, June 22, at Whitechapel Projectsin Long Branch, NJ, for a one-of-a-kind art auction and live music event to benefit Tim.

Hosted by standup comedian Dave Hill, the bands — Holmes, Von Mons, and The Long Defeats — start at 3 pm and will be playing short sets of Ribeye covers, alongside some awesome rock'n'roll DJs.

The art auction features pieces donated by various artist friends, including a signed Beastie Boys print from photographer Danny Clinch. Tim also contributed one of his own pieces to the event. Pat Longo graciously created the show poster, and you can view more of his work HERE.

Event organizer and Ribeye Brother, Joe Calandra comments:

“Save the date. This benefit is for one of my oldest and dearest friends, Tim Cronin. Tim and I have been close since the mid-’80s, when we first met at Jack’s Music. We’ve been all over the world together during our Monster Magnet days, but what I’m most proud of is sharing the stage with him in the Ribeye Brothers for the past 14 years. Please come to the show if you can — to support Tim and celebrate his amazing life. I’m so grateful to have had him in my life all these years. Thank you, Tim.”

The venue was generously donated by Marilyn Schlossbach, who owns the White Chapel Projects, as well as the Low Dive (formerly the Yacht Club) and the Langosta Lounge (now operating under a new name) — all places the Ribeye Brothers have played over the years.

This benefit is a true labor of love, with so many friends and associates working hard to make it happen, including Joe's wife, Samantha, and Todd Abramson of WFMU, who have been handling venue details, lining up DJs, organizing the auction, and keeping everything on track. BetterWorld provides ticketing and online auction services.

CARBONSTONE Fires Back with Explosive NEW Single “STANDOFF” feat. Jonny Santos of Spineshank

"STANDOFF" to me is about betrayal, defiance, and reclaiming power. Reflecting on a chaotic relationship where trust was shattered and where manipulation ran deep. It’s about once being vulnerable and unsure and then eventually rising up, standing firm and refusing to be controlled or broken any longer.

The repeated confrontational refrain — “come and get a piece of me” — is a bold challenge to the betrayer, turning pain into strength. The song builds from confusion and heartbreak into full-blown resistance, ending in a decisive emotional and personal standoff. - Corey James

BIO:

Rising from the shadows of Baltimore’s underground, CARBONSTONE is the sonic embodiment of raw emotion, industrial grit, and modern aggression. Fusing elements of nu-metal, industrial rock, and electronic chaos, the band delivers a sound that’s as brutally honest as it is addictively infectious. Think pounding grooves, razor-edged riffs, and a voice that shifts from melodic sorrow to throat-tearing rage in a heartbeat.

Led by the relentless vision of frontman Corey James, CARBONSTONE is a resurrection story forged in trauma, redemption, and absolute defiance. After years of silence, the band roared back to life—stronger, darker, and more venomous than ever.

Their rebirth was carved into the steel of their breakout album “Dark Matter”—a dark, cinematic odyssey produced by acclaimed engineer Tony Correlli (Deep End Studio), whose signature production sharpened the band’s sound into a weapon. The album tore through expectations, racking up over 1 million streams and igniting a loyal cult following of fans who crave music with teeth

CARBONSTONE'S latest evolution sees collaborations with heavy-hitters like

Jonny Santos of Spineshank, pushing their sound into even more volatile territory. Whether it’s the adrenaline-soaked “Standoff” or the brooding menace of earlier tracks like “AM Trauma”, Carbonstone isn’t just making music—they’re setting the fuse to explode the status quo.

This isn’t just a band. It’s a war cry.

Carbonstone is here to burn it down and build something real from the ashes.

Welcome to the uprising.

Deep Purple's "Rapture of the Deep" Album Marks 20 Years With Remix + Unreleased Tracks

IS THIS DEEP PURPLE'S UNFAIRLY FORGOTTEN ALBUM?

RAPTURE OF THE DEEP MARKS 20 YEARS WITH A STUNNING REMIX + UNRELEASED TRACKS

RAPTURE OF THE DEEP 20TH ANNIVERSARY REMIX TO BE RELEASED AUGUST 29

Deep Purple
's Rapture of the Deep turns 20 – and i'’s celebrated with a complete remix and remaster, striking new artwork, plus a bonus CD/LP featuring never-before-released recordings.

Listen to "Junkyard Blues" below:

It's no secret that Rapture of the Deep isn’t the first album that comes to mind when listing Deep Purple's classics – and while it was met with interest at the time, it gradually faded from view. Despite solid sales, the album arrived during a period when there was little spotlight on the world of classic rock, and over the years, Rapture of the Deep developed into an overlooked chapter in Deep Purple's rich discography.

It's equally true that this record, and the story behind it, marked a turning point — the quiet beginning of a run that would eventually lead to four consecutive No. 1 albums (2013, 2017, 2020, 2024) and the kind of success few bands experience even once, let alone decades into their career.

New insights by Kerrang! founder and Classic Rock magazine writer Geoff Bartonpull back the curtain on a time when Deep Purple were navigating an uncertain era in the music industry that saw the downfall of many once-great artist careers — and unravel the strange chemistry that gave birth to Deep Purple's 18th studio album.

As bassist Roger Glover reflects, "We were going through a bit of a hard time when we started the songwriting and production of Rapture of the Deep and, strangely enough, we didn't have a record company at that point. Let's face it, we were a bit lost (…)."

But from that uncertain moment emerged an album bursting with sharp songwriting, masterful playing, and pure Deep Purple grit.

Now, newly mixed with the supervision of Glover, analogue-mastered at renowned Chameleon Studios in Hamburg, and presented with bold new artwork, Rapture of the Deep finally shines with clarity and color. "It's a new album now to me," says Roger Glover. Fans will hear it blooming for the first time.

This new edition also includes a bonus CD/LP featuring previously unreleased instrumental takes and studio rehearsals recorded during the songwriting process — providing a rare, unfiltered insight into the band’s creative work in the studio. Captured on multi-track in 2005 and mixed for the first time in 2025, it’s one of those rare instances where recordings resurface decades later from archives long thought lost.

Among the highlights is the track "Closing Note," a never-before-heard piece by former guitarist Steve Morse — recorded during the album sessions and now officially released for the first time.

These tracks are available exclusively on all three physical formats — CD Digipak, 3LP Vinyl (black, 180g), and the strictly Limited 3LP Transparent Sky-Blue Vinyl.

With Deep Purple riding high on the success of their latest No. 1 record =1, the time is right to (re)discover the album that set the path for Deep Purple in the 21st century.

dead7 Drop "PLEASE" Video" (Feat. Marcus Vik)

dead7 will drop their new album LOVE WHAT YOU CAN WHILE YOU GOT SOMETHING LEFT TO LOVE on July 11 via SharpTone. Pre-order it here

On the album, the St. Louis, MO quintet — Jason Kozik [vocals], Dexter Greer[guitar], Tim Quinn [guitar], Stephen Salyer [bass], and Zach Guinn [drums] — temper guitar-driven grooves with electronics, atmospheric keys, and evocative vocals. Simultaneously, death and romance become interchangeable, rotating around an axis of relatable emotional turbulence.

dead7 have dropped the video for "PLEASE." The track features a guest appearance from Invent Animate's Marcus Vik.

Watch it Below:

"We were making a joke about being kind of horny, and we tried to encapsulate it," Kozik says about the song's interesting origin story. "It's about the highs of relationships. If you say, 'Please,' you could tell me to do anything. It doesn't matter, just ask nicely. It has our ridiculously low guitar tones that we love, but it also feels like a pop song. We really wanted to have fun with this one."

Fun, indeed!

Armed with this boundary-breaking style, dead7 initially rose up out of St. Louis during 2022. Following "unwanted" and "bite it," the group collaborated with Nathan Johnson of Fox Lake on "heaven only knows." Meanwhile, "tape mouth" surged with over 433K Spotify streams, paving the way for the new pain collection EP and all time does is pass and all i do is remember EP. Along the way, they packed headline gigs and graced the bills of festivals such as POINTFEST with Incubus, Bad Omens, Coheed and Cambria, The Pretty Reckless, and more. In late 2024, they caught the attention of Sharptone Records and inked a deal with the label. Hitting the studio, the band reteamed with frequent collaborators and producers Caleb Freihaut and Ben McGuiness to record what would become LOVE WHAT YOU CAN WHILE YOU GOT SOMETHING LEFT TO LOVE. This time around, the guys nodded to inspirations such as Loathe, Bring Me The Horizon, and Three Days Grace.

British Rock Sensation INGLORIOUS Releases New Studio Album 'V' via Frontiers Music Srl

Acclaimed British hard rock band INGLORIOUS is thrilled to release their highly anticipated new studio album, “V,” out now via Frontiers Music Srl. To celebrate, the band has released a new track, "Say What You Wanna Say," alongside a visualizer, available to view below.

Vocalist Nathan James commented on the new single:

’Say What You Wanna Say’ is the kind of track that all the INGLORIOUS fans are going to love. It's that high energy high tempo vibe with lots of punch, but also with a bit of a twist. Colinwrote this musically and I love the chorus. It's a big tune and one I'm really looking forward to doing live”.

Bassist Colin Parkinson added:

“The track is a statement of attitude with a punk meets Mötley Crüe feel. Nathan was very open to changing up vocal styles and trying new approaches on this, which has worked really well. I look forward to playing this one live!”

Watch the Visualizer for “Say What You Wanna Say” Below:

INGLORIOUS returns with frontman Nathan James and original bassist Colin Parkinson. Nathan James, who founded the band in 2014, has been singing professionally for 20 years. He has performed/recorded with artists such as Ginger Baker, Uli Jon Roth, and The Trans-Siberian Orchestra.

More recently, he has appeared in Jeff Wayne’s musical version of The War Of The Worlds, Steve Steinman’s Vampires Rock Symphonic, 80’s Classical, and Zeppelin Symphonic. Nathan also fronts Supergroup Iconic, under the Frontiers roster featuring Michael Sweet, Joel Hoekstra, Marco Mendoza, and Tommy Aldridge.

In 2022, after a lengthy UK tour, INGLORIOUS announced a hiatus. After seven years of non-stop touring with bands such as The Winery Dogs, Steel Panther, The Dead Daisies, Last In Line, as well as their own international tours and festival appearances, recording four original albums, a live album and a covers album, everyone felt it was the right time to take a break.

Nathan is now back, looking forward to unleashing his powerful voice, and he joined forces once again with original INGLORIOUS bass player and main co-writer Colin Parkinson, who co-wrote and released the first three albums with the band: 'Inglorious,' 'II' and 'Ride To Nowhere.'

Joining them is renowned guitarist Richard Shaw, best known for his work with English extreme metal band Cradle Of Filth, as well as NG26, Emperor Chung, and Plague Of Angels. Richard brings exceptional musicality and a fresh energy to the band’s sound.

On drums, longtime friend of Nathan, Henry Rogers, completes the lineup. A celebrated musician, Henry has played with Touchstone, Mostly Autumn, Mia Klose, and Mark Kelly’s Marathon and has earned accolades such as “Drummer Of The Year” in Classic Rock Prog Magazine and Rhythm Magazine’s list of influential progressive drummers.

Produced by Colin Parkinson, 'V' was mixed by Tony Draper, who also worked on 'Inglorious II' and 'Ride To Nowhere,' ensuring the album retains the band’s signature sound while exploring new heights.

About the new album, James stated:

“In the summer of 2023, I sent a message to Colin and asked him if he wanted to come for a pint. A few meetings and writing sessions later, we had more than an album’s worth of great material, and I can honestly say I've enjoyed every second of creating this album with him and the new lineup. Colin has always been a great songwriter, and over the years we've both matured as artists, writers, performers, and people. This is going to be a great year for INGLORIOUS and I'm excited to welcome Colin back and to share this new music with everyone”.

Parkinson adds:

“I am extremely happy to be returning to INGLORIOUS after a while away. It’s the right time to get some kickass new music out there for the fans and to focus on the future. Writing and recording with Nathan again has been the easiest it’s ever been; it all flowed so well. We’ve all played and sang our asses off on these songs and I know the new album will not disappoint!”

Final Chapter of FERMENTOR’s Trilogy Agreement Set for August 15 Physical Release

Brutalambient instrumental duo FERMENTOR is excited to announce the physical release of their new album Agreement, landing August 15th, 2025. This 17-track release marks the third and final chapter in a bold instrumental trilogy, following 2023’s Mind Meld and 2025’s Release Me. Agreement takes listeners on an immersive ride through the crushing weight of death metal, blended with the sweeping, improvisational textures of post-rock.

It’s a sound that’s both fierce and fluid—raw, yet meticulously layered. FERMENTOR thrives in the tension between chaos and control, fusing looping grooves, sharp dynamics, and free-form intuition into something that defies easy categorization.

Drummer Dylan Marks, who also performs with legendary progressive death metal band ATHEIST, brings added firepower and recognition to the release. His reputation in the extreme metal world offers a compelling entry point for new listeners, while also underscoring the technical depth that runs throughout Agreement.

The band shares, "Agreement isn’t just another release—it’s the final step in a bigger experiment. From Mind Meld to Release Me, and now this, we’ve been exploring how far we can push instrumental music emotionally and technically. This record is the closing statement."

FERMENTOR is:

  • Dylan Marks - Drummer

  • Adam "Wally" Wollach - Guitarist

About FERMENTOR:

FERMENTOR is a San Diego-based two-piece instrumental metal band formed in 2008 by drummer Dylan Marks and guitarist Adam “Wally” Wollach. Relying solely on drums and guitar as contrapuntal voices, the cousins discovered their chemistry while recording their first EP, Matanzaa, within four weeks. After a brief time living on opposite coasts, they reunited to release two EPs: Fermentor (2011) and Rate of Cognition (2015), gaining a reputation for their explosive, high-energy performances alongside acts like BEHOLD!... THE ARCTOPUS AND CAPTURED BY ROBOTS. Their first full-length album, Continuance (2020), showcased progressive, intricately arranged compositions and introduced their first music videos, including the acclaimed "Seventh Circle". In 2023, Mind Meld marked a new peak in production quality and maturity, recorded live without click tracks, earning critical acclaim and expanding their fanbase. The 2024 FermenTOUR brought their unique sound to West Coast audiences, followed by the 2025 release Release Me, a 17-track fully improvised album spanning multiple genres, shared weekly with accompanying videos to great acclaim. Not slowing down, FERMENTOR announced another 17-track improvised album, Agreement, continuing their exploration of looping and genre-defying music. In 2025, they plan to tour again, committed to sharing their evolving artistic vision worldwide.

OUT NOW FROM TURIAN - Blood Quantum Blues

Wise Blood Records presents the mind-blowing new album from Seattle metallic hardcore outfit TURIAN. Blood Quantum Blues blends the band’s explosive hardcore with a fresh palette of influences, making it one of the most vibrant, unique, and powerful heavy albums in recent memory.

“We are always trying to push ourselves and make better music, so we are never married to a sound or ideology,” shares guitarist Ryan Metztli-Moon. “A big push for us on this record was to make exactly the music we wanted to hear and not compromise on anything until we were all happy with it. That ultimately encompasses an enormous amount of influences and ideas.”

“This is the first album where we truly feel like ourselves,” adds drummer Andrew Nyte. “Up until this point, we were searching for our voice, but the influences were always there. Specifically, we wanted to bring electronic production into the mix, since a couple of us have been making electronic music longer than making metal. I think that was a huge change for us and one that felt completely natural.”

As their riffs smash tyranny, vocalist Vern Metztli-Moon guides the album through a blood-soaked history of American violence and oppression. “As a Yaqui Indian, this album is about my ancestors, acknowledging their unheard grief and our transcendental connection to one another,” Vern Moon explains. “It’s also about my decision to confront and break cycles of destruction caused by multiple generations of colonial genocide.”

Blood Quantum Blues is both a standout metallic hardcore album and a weapon of retribution. Wise Blood and TURIAN will release the album June 6th on CD, Cassette, and Digital formats.

Written by Johnny Reid and Thomas “Tawgs” Salter and recorded in Nashville at Soultrain Sound Studios, the deeply personal ballad finds Tongi reflecting on the loss of his father and picking up the pieces. Delivering vocals tinged with pain and perseverance in a tribute to wounds that never heal, the song is a spiritual follow-up to Tongi’s tearjerking performance of James Blunt’s “Monsters” on “American Idol.” Arriving just over a week before Father’s Day the new track is once again dedicated to his late father.

Tongi says of the song, “I recorded ‘Unbreak My Heart’ in honor of my late father. The first time I heard it I was reminded of exactly how I felt the day we lost him. It speaks true to me and I hope anyone that hears it that has experienced loss knows they are not alone.”

The new music follows a flurry of activity in recent weeks for the Hawaii native, including a return to the Idol stage for the hit ABC show’s Disney Night. The Pacific Islander performed the Lilo & Stitch classic “Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride.” Tongi’s take of the song is featured in Disney’s blockbuster live-action Lilo & Stitch film in theaters now. Watch his “American Idol” Performance of “Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride” HERE, the official video for Tongi’s version HERE, stream on APPLE MUSIC / SPOTIFY / AMAZON.

Tongi kicked off CMA Fest week on Monday with an acoustic performance of the new track on “The Kelly Clarkson Show” followed by a surprise appearance at a special American Idols Takeover presented by 19 and BMG on Wednesday where he was presented with a plaque for achieving 100,000,000 streams. He then made his CMA Fest debut on the Dr. Pepper Amp stage on Thursday.

CMA Fest week activities, the release of “Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride” and a return to “American Idol” follow Tongi’s release, “Sunshine” via 19 Recordings, for Asian American & Pacific Islander Heritage Month. Written by Tongi along with Tyler Cain and  Johnny Reid, the song finds him basking in positivity and feel-good warmth with a fusion of country and reggae sounds offering a dose of sonic Vitamin D to match his Hawaiian home. Listen to “Sunshine” HERE.

At just 18-years old when he auditioned for Idol, the Hawaiian born singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist won hearts around the world and brought Lionel Richie, Katy Perry, and Luke Bryan, to tears with his emotional performance of James Blunt's "Monsters," dedicated to his father Rodney who had recently passed away - watch it HERE. The audition went on to become the most watched on the show’s YouTube with 37 million views. Tongi became the first Pacific Islander to win the series and went on to earn his first Billboard No. 1 on the Rock Digital Songs Sales Chart after releasing his debut single, "I'll Be Seeing You"

Tongi is set to make his Grand Ole Opry debut on June 11. He is currently on the road with dates across the U.S. through the summer and fall including several dates as support for Hawaiian singer-songwriter Maoli on his Last Sip of Summer Tour as well as Kolohe Kai’s What Aloha Means Tour. UNFILTERED: LANIE GARDNER REVEALS NEW PICTURE-PERFECT EP, POLAROIDS, AVAILABLE NOW

Named a “2025 Artist to Watch” by the Recording Academy/GRAMMY and Amazon Music, Lanie Gardner, unveils her highly anticipated new EP, Polaroids, via BBR Music Group/BMG Nashville. A six-track collection full of vivid storytelling, boundary-pushing soundscapes, and emotional truth, Polaroids is the perfect soundtrack for long drives, golden-hour moments, and everything in between. Listen to Polaroids here.

Produced by Oscar Charles, Jonathan Singleton, and Chris Ganoudis, Polaroids blends modern country grit with alt-pop edge and acoustic soul, capturing a 25-year-old artist fully stepping into her voice and vision. Building on the raw intimacy of her 2024 debut album A Songwriter’s Diary, Gardner widens the lens with this new project, giving each co-written song a mellow mix of feel-good energy and message-driven meaning.

Polaroids feels like a time capsule of everything I’ve lived and learned these past few years,” shares Lanie. “Each song is a snapshot of a moment that shaped me — the highs, the heartbreak and everything along the way.”

Alongside previously released standouts like “Buzzkill”—called “searing and sultry” by Billboard—and the emotionally charged “Concrete Cowboy,” Polaroids features a mix of new tracks that further showcase Gardner’s range. Highlights include the breezy opener “Takin’ The Slow Ride,” a windows-down anthem blending country rock with Southern soul, and the bright, roots-pop groove of “Hold Your Horses,” a playful reminder to slow down and soak it all in.

Gardner celebrated the release of Polaroids with a string of appearances at CMA Fest 2025, including standout performances at Spotify House, the Reverb Stage, and Ole Red’s On The Rise Opry celebration, as well as a surprise spotlight set at Darius Rucker and Friends at The Ryman. Today, she will perform at this year’s CMT Next Women of Country program at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, followed by her Polaroids EP release party at Chief’s Bar in downtown Nashville. To cap it off, Lanie will be featured as Apple Music Country's "Riser of the Month," joining host Ward Guenther for weekly in-depth conversations on Country Risers Radio HERE

Gardner continues to earn praise and high-profile collaborations across the Country music landscape. Her recent duet “What Could Go Right” with Thomas Rhett remains a fixture on top country streaming playlists, while her heartfelt team-up with Warren Zeiders on “Loving in Letting Go” showcases her emotional depth and vocal power.

This year alone, she made her Stagecoach debut, joined Corey Kent’s Black Bandana Tour, and will hit the road again this fall with Gavin Adcock. She was also named to CMT’s 2025 Next Women of Country class and was recently invited to make her Opry debut, further solidifying her place as one of the genre’s most exciting new voices.

Lanie first gained attention with her viral cover of “Dreams” (55M+ views), which hit No. 25 on the Billboard Rock charts and led to collaborations with David Guetta and MORTEN and her original music has been featured on the soundtracks for both Twisters and Queen of the Ring. As Billboard put it, she’s “a true artist with staying power,” and MusicRow calls her “one of the most exciting rising stars today.”

Rising Artist RYLAI Debuts with Emotionally Charged Single “Without You”

June 6th, 2025 marks the official debut of genre bending Alt-Pop artist, RYLAI, with the release of “Without You.” Born and raised in Seoul, South Korea, RYLAI introduces himself to the world with a soul-baring track rooted in self-reflection, transformation, and the healing power of music. At its core, the track expresses both regret and gratitude, reflecting on a time when RYLAI admits he "should have loved [himself] more and taken better care" of his emotional well-being.

Driven by emotion and introspection, RYLAI creates songs with layers to unpack — where nothing is accidental and every sound has a purpose. In a world where so much feels uncertain and fragile, RYLAI’s journey begins with that same sense of instability. From a young age, he turned to music as a sanctuary — a place to disappear, escape, and find comfort when the outside world felt chaotic. “When everything was falling apart around me, music was the only thing that made sense,” he says. “It still is.”

That spirit lives at the heart of “Without You,” a track that captures both gratitude and regret. “I wrote the lyrics with intentional ambiguity, I wanted the lyrics to stand alone and also fit into the larger narrative of my upcoming releases,” RYLAI explains. “They could be for my younger self, a past lover, potential fans — or music itself.”

The production of “Without You” spans continents — with most of the song recorded in Seoul, and key sessions taking place in Los Angeles with co-producer Dylan Buzz Gold. RYLAI’s instrumental contributions include viola, violin, and synthesizer, underscoring his hands-on approach to every part of the song's creation. The track was written entirely by RYLAI and produced in collaboration with Dylan Buzz Gold, Scandi, and Colby Lapolla. Collaborators on the track also include Scandi (who provided the original beat) and Colby Lapolla, who contributed vocal production and textured effects.

RYLAI’s music is more than sound — it’s storytelling. Each release this year will connect to a larger narrative, revealing more with every track. “There’s always something to unpack,” he says. “Art is where we go when the world doesn’t make sense. And right now, we all need a place to escape.”

MORE INFO:
RYLAI
is a rising singer-songwriter and producer born and raised in Seoul, South Korea. His passion for music began in the quiet aftermath of a pivotal moment at the end of sixth grade, when he started exploring melodies on an old digital piano that had sat untouched for years. Though he had taken piano lessons as a child, it wasn’t until then that he truly connected with music — creating original ideas that gradually turned into songs.

Influenced by a wide range of artists, RYLAI draws vocal inspiration from Naul of Brown Eyed Soul, whose emotional head voice and rich chord progressions left a lasting impression. He also cites Ado for her unparalleled vocal intensity and expressiveness, and Seo Tai Ji, a Korean pop-rock icon known for his genre-bending approach to music. Kendrick Lamar remains one of RYLAI’s biggest influences — both for his lyrical depth and for the way each of his albums tells a cohesive, meaningful story. Inspired by that model, RYLAI’s own music follows an overarching narrative, with each release revealing a new chapter.

Aftermath Releases There is Something Wrong - Redacted, A Stripped-Down Version of their 2019 Album

Chicago metal legends Aftermath have unveiled a new version of their critically praised 2019 concept album with the release of There is Something Wrong – Redacted. This leaner, more direct version of the record features eight songs, omitting the intros, interludes, and outros.

Released 25 years after their groundbreaking debut Eyes of Tomorrow, There is Something Wrong marked Aftermath’s return with a bold and disturbing message—one that challenged listeners to confront uncomfortable truths. The album’s dark themes and intense lyrical content proved polarizing at the time of its release.

𝑻𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒊𝒔 𝑺𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑾𝒓𝒐𝒏𝒈 is a dark concept album meant to disturb the listener.

"Back in 2019, the lyrics and concept were too much for some listeners, but for some that feeling has changed since Covid.  Regardless, we always intended on releasing a version with only the songs," says the band.

The Redacted edition strips the album down to its core—eight explosive tracks delivered without preamble. It offers a new way to experience the raw energy and pointed social commentary that define There is Something Wrong.

There is Something Wrong – Redacted is available now exclusively on all streaming services here: https://ffm.to/aftermath-tisw-redacted

Currently, the band is in the studio recording their fourth studio album. Aftermath promises to deliver 11 tracks of pure, uncompromising metal.

The band states, "We are excited to be back in the studio. We can’t wait for everyone to hear this album. It’s heavy, it’s catchy, and in typical Aftermath fashion it sounds totally different from our previous albums."

The new album is being recorded at Electrowerks Recording, with engineering and mixing by Chuck Macak. Additional details, including the album title, tracklist, and release date, will be announced in the coming months.

Chicago based Aftermath, fronted by Kyriakos "Charlie" Tsiolis, formed in October 1985 when Charlie and his schoolmate Steve Sacco (Guitar) got together. This early incarnation with Adam (Bass) and Ray Schmidt (Drums) released their first demo in 1986 featuring “Sentenced to Death”, “Revenge”, “Shotgun” and “The Aftermath”.

In 1987, they unleashed their second demo entitled Killing the Future featuring the tracks “When Will You Die”, “Going No Place”, “Chaos”, “Meltdown” and “War for Freedom”. The band pursued a mind-blowing speed and technical brand of thrash that soon set them apart from the pack and in the process made them a pioneering crossover thrash band.

The tracks "War for Freedom" & "When Will You Die" were both featured on the British Metal Forces magazine_compilation LP Demolition: Scream Your Brains Out in 1988. Their appearance on the Metal Forces compilation further expanded the band's international appeal.

In 2020, Aftermath released a re-imagined version of the John Lennon classic, "Give Peace a Chance". The song was remixed and remastered for the new album and included on the record because of the message.

“John Lennon’s urgent call for peace in Give Peace a Chance is more important today than ever, and our call for peace with this cover is the perfect message to follow up our previous album. We released a dark concept album with a bleak message and felt it was important to follow that up with something positive. The visuals in the video are as important as the lyrics in a way. We live in a visual world today and this video needed to get out the message of HOPE. Having a young girl be the focus of the video was our way of getting that across. Seeing only positive acts when she puts on Lennon’s famous glasses was the perfect visual metaphor. Lennon’s message is transmitted not only through his lyrics but also through the perspective created by his unique lenses” says the band.

The video was directed by critically acclaimed video director Steven Nathan in New York City.

Aftermath unleashed their highly awaited masterpiece, No Time to Waste, through Zoid Entertainment/TLG/INgrooves on March 17, 2023. This release stands as the triumphant conclusion to a powerful trilogy, representing a notable departure from the somber tones of its predecessor.

In an exclusive statement, Kyriakos "Charlie" Tsiolis shared, "We take immense pride in this album, a culmination of a trilogy that commenced with our debut. Crafted during a challenging era in contemporary history, 'No Time to Waste' emerges as an anthem of hope. In contrast to our previous dark conceptual endeavor, we've refined this record. The ten tracks within are both weighty and charged, delivering a potent metal experience coupled with a profound message - that collectively, we can overcome, but time is of the essence."

AFTERMATH is:
Kyriakos "Charlie" Tsiolis - Vocals
Steve Sacco - Guitar
Ray Schmidt - Drums
George Lagis - Bass

SHADOW OF INTENT Drop New Single & Music Video "Mechanical Chaos"

With just weeks to go before the release of their most ambitious album yet, Shadow of Intent drop “Mechanical Chaos,” the fourth single from upcoming new album Imperium Delirium, out June 27 via Blood Blast Distribution. Watch the official music video below and pre-order the album or stream the new track here.

Driven by an unrelenting barrage of dissonant riffing, symphonic unease, and unflinching lyrical focus, “Mechanical Chaos” is the band at their most sonically and ideologically severe. Vocalist Ben Duerr offers the following statement:

“Mechanical Chaos was written to confront the cold, dehumanized reality of modern warfare—one increasingly shaped by the rise of drone technology. As unmanned systems redefine the battlefield, we find ourselves at a crossroads of power, ethics, and consequence. They have become the equalizer of nations. But with this shift comes a new era of destruction—one marked not by strategy, but saturation. The result is a battlefield soaked in attrition, where both sides bleed endlessly and blindly. Mechanical Chaos doesn’t celebrate this evolution—it laments it. It’s a cry against the dehumanization of war, where soldiers are reduced to dots on a screen, and civilians caught in the crossfire become collateral in a game of endurance.

The future hinted at in our music is not distant—it’s already unfolding. This song is for the forgotten, the vaporized, and the haunted—those left beneath the specters above.”

Lyrically and thematically, Imperium Delirium continues Shadow of Intent’s descent into the real-world horrors that define our past and foreshadow our future. From mythic allegory to modern bloodshed, the band’s subject matter confronts the sickness of empires, the seduction of violence, and the machinery of death that fuels it all. As always, the sound is enormous—melding symphonic grandeur, blackened melody, razor-sharp technicality, and punishing breakdowns into a style that remains utterly their own. The three previously released singles from the album - 2024's "Flying The Black Flag", "Feeding The Meatgrinder" feat Corpsegrinder and "Infinity of Horrors" have clocked up 1.4 million views on Youtube and 4 million streams on Spotify alone.

Since their formation in 2014, Shadow of Intent have garnered a reputation for crafting mind-blowingly technical, prog tinged symphonic deathcore. Widely acknowledged as one of the forerunners of the current deathcore renaissance, the band's debut album 'Primordial' was named as one of Revolver Magazine's '15 Essential Deathcore Albums', with Metal Sucks giving their 2019 album 'Melancholy' a perfect 5/5 review, stating "you can expect Shadow of Intent to send echoes across metal for as long as they feel like making music". To date, they amassed over 203 million streams, 64 million YouTube Views and have 460,000 monthly listeners on Spotify.

Following the album release, the band will hit the road this fall with Lorna Shore, The Black Dahlia Murder, and Enterprise Earth for one of the year’s most anticipated deathcore tours. Full dates below with tickets available HERE

PARADISE LOST PREPARE FOR 'ASCENSION'; NEW ALBUM OUT SEP 19TH

Icons of goth and doom, PARADISE LOST will release their long-awaited, 17th album Ascensionon September 19th with Nuclear Blast Records. The band’s first album in 5 years, following 2020’s critically acclaimed Obsidian, was produced by guitarist Gregor Mackintosh and mixed/mastered by Lawrence Mackrory. Ascension is a testament to the band’s longevity and relevance over their 35+ year career, encompassing their signature styles of gothic, death and doom fans have cherished along the way.

Ascension’s album cover fittingly features the painting The Court of Death (1870-1902) by renowned British artist George Frederic Watts, which hangs in the Tate Gallery in London. The painting depicts Death as an enthroned angel flanked by allegorical figures of Silence and Mystery guarding sunrise and the star of hope, while a warrior surrenders his sword and a duke his coronet, showing that worldly status offers no protection. The painting’s bleak, prophetic vision embodies Ascension’s dark, tormented soundscapes as mournful verses collide with dire, foreboding riffs.

Commenting on the record, vocalist Nick Holmes says:

"Ascension is a cavalcade of molten misery, a vigorous sorrow filled stroll through a wicked world of glorious triumph and pitiful tragedy."

Today, PARADISE LOST offer a glimpse into their melancholic masterpiece with the record’s first single and music video, ‘Silence Like The Grave.’

About PARADISE LOST:

More than three decades into their career, and with over two million albums sold, PARADISE LOST remain the undisputed kings of metal’s dark side. Formed in Halifax in 1988, the band quickly became noted as the pioneers of gothic metal through their early groundbreaking albums like 1991’s aptly-titled Gothic, a mixture of heaviness intertwined with shadowy melody and atmosphere.

Never a group to remain creatively static, across their career they’ve explored a myriad of avenues of dark music, from sludgy doom-death roots, to conquering the metal mainstream with the enormous, lush sounds of 1995’s Draconian Times, to more experimental, electronic leanings, leaving an influence on a trail of artists as varied as CRADLE OF FILTH, HIM, GATECREEPER and CHELSEA WOLFE.

Now, in 2025, the Yorkshire quintet return with their staggering 17th album, Ascension, a record that sees their crown continue to gleam as it underlines just how they attained their position. Produced by guitarist Gregor Mackintosh at Black Planet studios in East Yorkshire, with drums and vocals captured at NBS and Wasteland studios in Sweden, its 10 tracks traverse the multitude of sounds in the band’s arsenal, from full-bore heavy metal to sky-high melody, all the while keeping a minor-key melancholy that remains irresistible.
