Frontiers Music Srl Announces Signing of Legendary Southern Rock Band LYNYRD SKYNYRD

Frontiers Music Srl is thrilled to announce the signing of LYNYRD SKYNYRD, one of the most legendary and enduring bands in rock history. This partnership celebrates the band’s incredible legacy while looking ahead to exciting new projects.

As part of this exciting new collaboration, the Frontiers label will release 'Celebrating 50 Years - Live At The Ryman,' a live album and DVD capturing LYNYRD SKYNYRD’s historic 50th-anniversary concert at Nashville’s legendary venue in 2022. This special release holds profound significance as it features the final performance of founding member Gary Rossington.

The album showcases the band's unparalleled energy, their signature blend of blues rock and Southern hard rock swagger, and stands as both a heartfelt tribute to Rossington and a celebration of LYNYRD SKYNYRD’s lasting legacy in music history.

Johnny Van Zant expressed his enthusiasm about the signing and the upcoming release:

“50 years for LYNYRD SKYNYRD… WOW! We are so grateful to the devoted fans for their support throughout the years of transitions and losses. Last year we lost the great Mr. Gary Rossington. We unknowingly were able to capture his final performance with us. It’s bittersweet but what a special place to have had his final performance, the mothership of music - The Ryman Auditorium!

“It was a very special night with incredibly talented guests as we honored the iconic musicality of SKYNYRD. We are so grateful to the Ryman and to all of those who have worked so hard to make this project become a reality! This will forever be a keepsake in our hearts, and we are so happy to be able to share it with our Skynyrd Nation”, he continued.

“Few bands have left such a lasting impact on rock music as LYNYRD SKYNYRD," stated Serafino Perugino, President & CEO of Frontiers Label Group. “It is an honor to work with such an iconic name, and we can’t wait to bring fans something truly special.”

Doltyn Snedden

Tom Lipsky, Head of A&R of North America for Frontiers Label Group, added:

Gary Rossington touched the world with his songwriting and inspired us for decades onstage. It is an honour to bring the words and music of LYNYRD SKYNYRD to the fans via Gary’s final performance, surrounded by his LYNYRD SKYNYRD family as together they delivered an unforgettable concert experience at The Ryman!”

Ross Schilling, of Vector Management commented:

“We are excited to bring 50 Years of SKYNYRD to the fans. The Rossington family felt it was important to share Gary’s last performance with everyone. It was a special night with incredibly talented guest artists, honoring the iconic songs of SKYNYRD in the mother church of music, The Ryman Auditorium.”

With over 28 million records sold in the U.S. and a sound as iconic as the American culture it celebrates, Rock and Roll Hall of Famers LYNYRD SKYNYRD continue to inspire fans of all ages while embodying the very soul of Southern rock.

From their humble Jacksonville beginnings, through tragedy, reunion, and redemption, the band has earned its place on Rolling Stone’s list of the “100 Greatest Artists of All Time” – as well as a prominent spot in the hearts of generations.

In the wake of the 50th anniversary of their pioneering debut album '(Pronounced 'Lĕh-'nérd 'Skin-'nérd)' the band continues to tour, record, and delight their hundreds of millions of global fans with an eye on both the future and their rich history.

Originally formed in 1964 as My Backyard, the band evolved into LYNYRD SKYNYRD in 1968, with a lineup featuring Ronnie Van Zant (vocals), Gary Rossington (guitar), Allen Collins (guitar), Larry Junstrom (bass), and Bob Burns (drums). Their 1973 debut album introduced the world to their unmistakable blend of blues, country, and hard rock. Hits like “Sweet Home Alabama” and the timeless “Free Bird” cemented their status as pioneers of the genre.

At the peak of their success, in 1977, a devastating plane crash claimed the lives of lead singer Ronnie Van Zant, guitarist Steve Gaines, and backup vocalist Cassie Gaines, leaving the music world in shock. Despite the unimaginable loss, LYNYRD SKYNYRD’s legacy endured, and their music remained a beacon of Southern rock.

In 1987, the band reformed with Ronnie’s younger brother, Johnny Van Zant, taking the lead as lead vocalist. LYNYRD SKYNYRD continued to tour and record, with guitarist Rickey Medlocke returning to the fold in 1996. Throughout the years, the band remained a driving force in rock, honoring their roots while bringing their signature sound to new audiences.

Recognized as one of the greatest rock bands of all time, LYNYRD SKYNYRD was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2006 and ranked No. 95 on Rolling Stone’s list of the “100 Greatest Artists Of All Time.” With over 28 million records sold in the United States alone, their impact on music is undeniable.

Though founding member Gary Rossington’s passing in 2023 marked the end of an era, LYNYRD SKYNYRD’s influence remains stronger than ever. Their enduring music, spirit, and legacy will forever stand as a testament to the power of rock and roll.

Wounded Touch Announce New Album "A Vivid Depiction Of Collapse" + Release New Single "Consequence and Broadcast"

WOUNDED TOUCH ANNOUNCE UPCOMING ALBUM "A VIVID DEPICTION OF COLLAPSE" VIA SMARTPUNK RECORDS

Smartpunk Records' metal heavy-hitters Wounded Touch have announced their new full-length record "A Vivid Depiction Of Collapse" out on May 16th. The album marks a vital chapter in the band's growth as an eleven-track saga detailing the eleven stages of grief and acceptance, set to an unrelentingly heavy soundtrack.

Listen to the new single "Consequence and Broadcast below.

Vinyl Pre-Orders available here.

Since their inception, the Michigan outfit has used musical guerilla campaign tactics and a resilient DIY work ethic to make their way onto nationwide festivals and a full UK tour while gaining notoriety from metal's top publications including Metal Hammer, Brooklyn Vegan, and New Noise Magazine.

Speaking about the new single, "Consequence and Broadcast" Wounded Touch says, “Musically this wasn’t the first song written for the record, but it was the first song we’d completed with everyone as a band. It’s our trail of breadcrumbs from the last record to this one, and everything we’ve wanted to touch on musically between then. As much as we’re a bunch of hardcore and metalcore fans, we all grew up just as much into the posthardcore bands of the aughts and that very specific sound. The middle section and ending of the song was something that naturally developed when we wanted to lean in to some of the more melodic and poetic sounds of our influences (stuff like Hopesfall and Alexisonfire) without knowing what direction the song would go in and by the time we finished the record, it felt like a perfect encapsulation of the band’s current and past style.”

ABOUT WOUNDED TOUCH
Even since their infancy, the Michigan outfit Wounded Touch have used musical guerilla campaign tactics to make their way onto the likes of The Fest, Furnace Fest '21 and '23 official pre-shows, SXSW, tour the United Kingdom, and sell out the first pressing of their debut LP while fighting for every inch of ground not given. Bringing influence through the scope of the nostalgic 2000s metalcore/mathcore sound, the band aims to always keep their heads down, remain humble, and push forward through any means necessary if it means continuing to be loud, noisy, and frantic on as many stages as possible.

ABOUT SMARTPUNK RECORDS:
Smartpunk has been a recognizable name in the scene for a long time (Remember that sponsored Warped Tour stage?!). After exchanging several hands and countless ideas of what it could and should be, they decided to start a record label in 2016 with the main idea of focusing solely on reissuing records that have been out of print or never on vinyl. After all, they're a label of vinyl dorks themselves! After releasing Set Your Goals' Mutiny and Gameface's Good, they started to venture into signing newer bands. They actively balance in between many worlds — putting out amazing music from friends and bands that rock, reissuing older titles, and partnering with other incredible labels in our scene and doing exclusive color variants of their releases. Since forming the record label, Smartpunk Records has released timeless albums such as Less Than Jake's Anthem, Nominee's Lowlife, RIVALS' Sad Looks Pretty on Me, Virginity's POPMORTEM, and melodic skate punkers The Swellers' My Everest.

Air Drawn Dagger Drop "Bellyaches" Video

Pop punk x electro emo trio AIR DRAWN DAGGER have released new track "Bellyaches." It’s the fourth track from their upcoming debut album A Guide For Apparitions, set for release on April 4 via Long Branch Records. The accompanying music video was directed by Aaran McKenzie (While She Sleeps).

"Partially an 'end credits' song for the album, as we bask in euphoric, self-destructive thoughts. Inspired by the emo revival of Modern Baseball, etc., and the dopamine hit of shouting lyrics in unison, whilst barely conscious, inside sweaty basements. [It's] an ode to getting into a mess with your mates but believing it'll be okay in the end. Lastly, another nod to rejecting the passage of time, opting to die in the most joyful moment of your life rather than coming down off the high," says the band on the new track.

Watch the video for "Bellyaches" below.

Stream "Bellyaches" + pre-order the album here.

Air Drawn Dagger invite you on a spellbinding journey with A Guide For Apparitions, their debut album, out April 4 via Long Branch Records, which fuses macabre mysticism with multi-genre-infused rock. Produced by Neil Kennedy (CreeperBoston Manor), each track pulls listeners through haunted tales and cosmic chaos, conjuring imagery from Witch Trials to ghost lore.

"A Guide For Apparitions brings multiple meanings. The record can be a Grimoire if you're being haunted, or a guide if you are the one confined to a realm you don't belong," explains the band.

PRE-ORDER "A GUIDE FOR APPARATIONS" HERE

Air Drawn Dagger blend raw emotion and defiance into a sound that defies genre. Their name, taken from Macbeth, symbolizes the chaos and emotional outbursts that fuel their music. BBC Introducing championed their early releases, and they soon found themselves on major playlists like Pop Punk Generation, Emo Anthems, and All New Rock. Air Drawn Dagger’s momentum is undeniable. They’ve sold out their own headline shows and played packed-out UK dates with Millie Manders. Recent shows with Lake Malice, Dream State, and AVIVIA saw more back-to-back sellouts along with curating their own stage at the Tramlines Festival Fringe. With over 250,000 views on the music video for their single "You Should Have Known Better," which also featured on the Kerrang! Chart, and multiple tracks premiering on BBC Introducing, the band’s cult-like following continues to grow.

Following their sold-out show at The Leadmill last year, featuring a choir of ghosts, confetti, and a human sacrifice, Air Drawn Dagger have also announced their biggest show to date at Corporation, in their hometown of Sheffield, on Saturday 5th April, 2025

With all this, and more to come, 2025 is set to be The Year of the Dagger.

Alt-rock duo THE YETS premieres 'Paper Ghost', a powerful elegy for a life taken too soon

A highlight of their debut album 'Pinup Girl', South Carolina alternative rock duo The Yets share the single 'Paper Ghost', a heartfelt tribute to a homeless woman who lost her life to the streets of Myrtle Beach. Its haunting video is a reminder that the individuals we see on the streets are not nameless, faceless statistics --they are people with stories, dreams and heartache, like anyone else.

The video premiered on the weekend at an ECHO (Eastern Carolina Housing Organization) event in Myrtle Beach intended to raise funds to support those experiencing housing instability, for which a stunning collection of art was also donated by local artists supporting ECHO’s mission.

Based in Myrtle Beach, The Yets is made up of guitarist-producer Craig Anderson Snook and vocalist Robin Wilson. Fusing Craig’s dynamic guitar work and production expertise with Robin’s rich, emotive vocals, their music sound is both powerful and distinctive. Their debut album blends modern and classic rock in music that is lush, atmospheric instrumentation, soulful melodies.

“I met Jeanette while doing community outreach in Myrtle Beach. She had been caught in the grip of chronic homelessness for years under the weight of mental health struggles that left her feeling isolated and deeply depressed.  Over the years, her hope of finding stable housing faded as the systems that were supposed to help her repeatedly let her down. Her trust was shattered and when the chance for stable housing finally arrived, she couldn’t bring herself to believe it would truly change her life, so she turned it down. Just weeks later, her life was tragically and violently taken while she slept on a park bench at the bus station," says Robin Wilson.

“I was fortunate to be one of the few people she trusted to open up to, and her loss hit me deeply” Robin states.  “The day after hearing about what happened to her, I wrote the lyrics to “Paper Ghost”, trying to make sense of the grief, the injustice, and the quiet connection I felt to her.  It all worked perfectly along with the beautiful music that Craig composed. Hopefully it’s a voice for those who are not heard.”

Craig Anderson Snook played guitar in several popular 1980s bands, including Gross Negligence, while Robin, who led rock groups Skirt and  Bachelors of Art (B.O.A.), adds depth and passion to their music. Craig’s intricate compositions provide the perfect backdrop for Robin’s voice to soar, creating immersive and atmospheric landscapes that push the boundaries of alternative rock.

Picking up where their 2022 eponymous debut EP left off, this album is a stunning collection of songs that dive deep into life and all the things that make us who and what we are. Earlier, the duo shared videos for 'Broken Arrow'. 'Enemy', the reverie-laden singles 'Define The Man' and '3's', and the nostalgic title track 'Pinup Girl', based on a deep longing for a past love, beautifully captured in the imagery of a weathered photograph.

The 'Pinup Girl' album is out now, available on CD via Bandcamp and digitally from fine online music platforms, including Spotify and Apple Music.

Acres Share "Staring at the Sun" Video

UK band ACRES recently announced that their new album The Host arrives May 2 via Solid State Records. Pre-order it here.

They share the new single "Staring at the Sun." Watch the performance video, which presents the band in its most natural state with instruments in hand, here. There's also subtle voyeuristic vibe to the camera angles and you won't be able to look away.

The song showcases the band's quiet-loud dynamics — Acres' deftness with melody, maelstrom, and romantic misery.

"'Staring at the Sun' is a classic miserable Acres love song," shares vocalist Ben Lumber. "The record goes in a brand new direction, but we wanted a few songs to nod to our roots with remnants of our old vibe. It's about not being able to let go of someone or something who has a hold over you."

"The Host represents a bold step in a new direction for us as a band, we've always pushed ourselves to evolve with every album and never write the same record twice," Lumber explains. "This time the process was unlike anything we've done before, working with Landon Tewers brought a fresh perspective and added a new flair to our sound that we’re really excited about!"

Audiences initially fell under Acres' spell in 2019 when they unveiled the fan favorite Lonely World. After grinding on the road, they made significant strides with 2023's Burning Throne. "My Everything" reeled in 2.6 million Spotify streams followed by "Hold On" with another 2 million Spotify streams. Kerrang! applauded how, "Acres display their potential with some big choruses to match," and When The Horn Blows hailed Burning Throne as "a classic metalcore album filled with swinging hooks, rough riffs, popping electronic elements and lovely vocals that turn into monster screams."

During October 2024, the band hopped the pond to record what would become The Host with none other than The Plot In You frontman Landon Tewers behind the board as producer. The musicians stayed at his Michigan studio. Beyond enjoying the onset of Halloween in America, they expanded their sonic palette by incorporating elements such as drop-tunings and leaning on the producer's perspective, acumen, and wisdom.

Acres will remain on the road through spring on tour with The Devil Wears Prada. They will also appear at select Beartooth shows. They just wrapped a support slot with The Plot In You. All upcoming dates below.

Progressive Metallers EMPYREAN SANCTUM Announce New Album 'Detachment From Reality' Out on April 18th

Today, progressive metallers EMPYREAN SANCTUM are excited to announce the release of their new album 'Detachment From Reality', out on April 18th. To celebrate the announcement, the band has released the first single from the album titled "Heart Of Gold". The single is accompanied by a music video available to view below.

The mastermind behind EMPYREAN SACTUM, Justin Kellerman, shares on the single:

"'Heart Of Gold' is a dark, heavy, progressive track that explores greed and what we as humans are capable of in the endless pursuit of self interest. There are tons of hints of all the musical aspects that appear throughout the album making it the perfect opener to set the tone for what's to come."

Watch the Music Video for "Heart Of Gold" below:

Justin Kellerman, founder/guitarist/composer of EMPYREAN SANCTUM, alongside vocalistAlbert Rybka (Katagory V), formed the project in 2007 with a shared love and passion for progressive music.

The debut album was released in 2013 featuring Fabio D'Amore (Serenity, ex-Pathosray) on bass. This 71-minute concept album explores a person's search to find the EMPYREAN SANCTUM, using fantasy as a metaphor for personal struggle. With its double meaning, EMPYREAN SANCTUM represents one's purpose in life and escape from the harsh truths of reality. For Justin, music is his EMPYREAN SANCTUM.

For this follow-up release, Justin has recruited drummer Hannes Grossmann (Alkaloid, Triptykon, Eternity's End, ex-Obscura, ex-Necrophagist) and bassist Alex Weber(Revocation, Exist, ex-Obscura) to pack a punch of technicality and precision in the rhythm section. The album also features guest appearances from Per Nilsson (Scar Symmetry, ex-Meshuggah) and Gabriel Riccio (The Gabriel Construct).

Mixed by David Castillo at Studio Grondahl and mastered by Thomas "Plec" Johansson at The Panic Room, 'Detachment From Reality' offers a much more sophisticated sound, taking listeners through an emotional journey packed with twists and turns. The subject matter deals with personal struggle and the reality of the human condition. This densely layered, cinematic experience is packed with musical complexity, catchy melodies, and dynamic variation. Revealing more details with each listen and leaving you captivated, you'll be sure to find a way to connect with this new release.

On 'Detachment From Reality', Kellerman states:

"The album 'Detachment From Reality' is a very personal album dealing with the emotional and psychological struggle of finding one's place and navigating through the harsh realities of the world and a yearning for peace. The music is heavy yet melodic, dense yet dynamic, complex yet catchy taking you on a truly emotional journey."

Even after this tour ends, Ne Obliviscaris aren't done bringing chaos and carnage to the Americas. Come May, the band are performing three special shows in Mexico. This sprint includes a stop at Guadalajar's The Metal Fest, plus two headlining dates in Monterrey and Mexico City, where they'll perform Exul and Citadel in full.

"We had such a great time in Mexico this past November at MXMF", Charles says. "We really wanted to make it to more cities in Mexico. We can't wait to share The Metal Fest and these two special headline shows with you!"

As luck would have it, the return to live show activity coincided with the release of Exul and the band’s 20th anniversary. As one of Australia’s leading extreme metal exports, there is a distinct sense of gratitude from Charles and his bandmates. They’re looking forward to sharing it with fans when they resume touring.

“Simply getting the opportunity to perform music that we’ve written on stages around the world to people that genuinely love and connect with it,” finishes Charles when talking about Ne Obliviscaris' 20-year journey. “There is something incredibly special about the energy that exists between an artist and audience at a concert and it was an honor to get the opportunity to spend 2023 connecting with people in that way once more.”

Iconic Guitarist MARTY FRIEDMAN Shares New Digital Single "Tearful Confession" + Video

Guitar visionary MARTY FRIEDMAN is pleased to share a new digital single, "Tearful Confession," from his latest solo album 'Drama.' The new track is being released as a digital single and is accompanied by a new video, available below.

MARTY comments on the new single:

"With this song and video, I am trying to express with music the hopeless feeling of hiding a secret in despair until you let it out and feeling a wave of relief and positivity. The video features the Marty Friedman Band, Chargeeeeee, Wakazaemon, and Naoki Morioka. You loved `em on tour and we are coming back for you soon."

In addition, MARTY has a brand-new full autobiography, Dreaming Japanese, out now worldwide by Simon and Schuster. It is available at the following vendors: amazon.combarnesandnoble.com, and dreamingjapanesebook.com

Watch the New Music Video for "Tearful Confession"

MARTY FRIEDMAN`s presence in the world of music, the world of guitar, and Japanese pop culture is mystifying, bizarre, and nothing short of inspiring. His latest solo album 'Drama' where he only slightly revisits the atmospheric elements of his acclaimed 1992 release 'Scenes,' elevating them to a modern and exotic collection of epic, extravagant, and unapologetically emotional mini-symphonies.

From his groundbreaking beginnings with Cacophony, alongside the legendary Jason Becker, to his pivotal role in propelling Megadeth to its peak of popularity with his breath-taking range and unorthodox melodic sense, MARTY FRIEDMAN has solidified his status as a unique guitar icon.

Tracks like "Illumination" and "Mirage" transport listeners to captivating realms, evoking sudden tears and chills. The entire album spotlights MARTY's mesmerizing melodies, game-changing arrangements, and heart-tugging motifs even more than any of his previous work.

Recorded in Italy, where MARTY had access to a treasure trove of vintage guitars along with his modern signature models, 'Drama' is a pure, uplifting musical experience.

Fluent in Japanese, he has appeared on over 900 Japanese TV shows of every variety, as well as motion pictures and commercials including an ad campaign for Coca-Cola / FANTA that ran for over two years. He was recently appointed an Ambassador of Japan Heritage by the Japanese government who also commissioned him to compose the "Japan Heritage Theme Song", recorded by MARTY and the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra and is played at official government-related events. He has played the Opening Ceremony at the Tokyo Marathon 5 times, including in March of this year. Three books on MARTY`s life have been released in Japan and a brand-new full autobiography will be released worldwide December 3rd.

THE HAUNTED Announces New Full-Length, Launches Video for New Single, "Warhead"

Swedish deadly thrash metal purveyors THE HAUNTED are back with a bang! Following eight long years since the release of 2017's much acclaimed studio album, 'Strength in Numbers,' THE HAUNTED is now pleased to announce its 10th studio album, 'Songs of Last Resort,' which will be released worldwide on May 30, 2025 via longtime partners Century Media Records.

To celebrate the release, the band is now unleashing the pummeling first single, "Warhead," along with a video, which was directed by Patric Ullaeus (In Flames, Arch Enemy, Dimmu Borgir, etc.). The clip can be found below.

Vocalist Marco Aro comments on the song, “This is the first single of our new album, 'Songs of Last Resort.' The song is called 'Warhead' and it’s an aggressive statement about the absolute horrors of the world we now have to live in!"

Guitarist Jensen adds, “When writing this song, I knew that we were on to writing a good album. The main riff came to me at work, and I had to take the afternoon off that day to immediately get it recorded and worked on while the inspiration from this one riff was still creating goosebumps. Lyrics are about various people in charge being 'warheads,' thriving in one way or another off of waging war. The intro sound FX were created together with Örjan Örnkloo (ex-Misery Loves Company, who also performs on ‘To Bleed Out’ and the title track ‘Letters of Last Resort’). I think it’s not a stretch to say that this song stand a real chance of becoming a fixture of our live set for many years to come…”

With music recorded by Oscar Nilsson at Studio Bohus, main vocals recorded by Björn Strid at The Cellar Studio, 'Songs of Last Resort' was then mixed and mastered by Jens Bogren at Fascination Street Studios (Kreator, Arch Enemy, Sepultura, etc). Artwork was once again provided by longtime visual collaborator Andreas “Diaz” Pettersson. Pre-orders are now live HERE.

WANG CHUNG ANNOUNCES CAREER RETROSPECTIVE, "CLEAR LIGHT/DARK MATTER."

Some of the '80s biggest and most enduring hits were created by a single band, Wang Chung – including "Dance Hall Days," "Everybody Have Fun Tonight," "Let's Go", "To Live and Die in L.A.," "Hypnotize Me," and “Fire In The Twilight” – and now all those tracks (and more!) will be included on the new compilation, 'Clear Light/Dark Matter' via SING (distributed by Symphonic/AMPED Distribution).

Scheduled to release on Friday, May 9th, 2025, 'Clear Light/Dark Matter' reveals the many layers of Wang Chung's music. Available on CD, digital, and a double set on black or white vinyl, the compilation spans the band's more than four-decade career featuring a carefully curated selection of their greatest hits and hidden gems, including never-before-released demos and a new live recording. Additionally, a single-vinyl release of just the "Greatest Hits" (disc one) of 'Clear Light/Dark Matter' will also be available. Pre-order here.

The double-vinyl and double-CD sets also include an edit of the recently released brand new remix of “Everybody Have Fun Tonight” by acclaimed remixer Eric Kupper, known for his work with artists such as Whitney Houston, Alicia Keys, Depeche Mode, Diana Ross, and Earth, Wind & Fire. Streaming everywhere now.

Priced at $89.95, 'Clear Light/Dark Matter' is also available now for preorder as a "Deluxe Edition," including instant access to the music and other exclusive digital content!

“We are really excited to be doing the Rick Springfield tour this summer, ” said the band in a statement. “The lineup is strong and we feel each act compliments the other really well into a good blend. We’re sure the audiences will enjoy the experience of the musical journey on show. We have done a lot of touring over the years but we have never played with Rick Springfield or John Waite before, so we are looking forward to working with those guys and also getting to play for perhaps a slightly different audience than before. We are very vibed up for getting everyone to Wang Chung every night on the tour!”

The duo of Nick Feldman and Jack Hues came out of the post-punk/new wave scene in the UK, and went on to achieve global success selling millions of records. Throughout their 40+ year career, they have released 6 studio albums and 2 greatest hits collections. They have had 6 US Top 40 hits, including a massive #1 single. They composed and performed the complete score for the 1984 neo-noir action thriller film "To Live and Die in L.A.” and also the song 'Fire in the Twilight’ for the legendary film "The Breakfast Club," amongst many others.

In the process of all of this (and somewhat unintentionally), Wang Chung became part of the contemporary culture of North America with their huge smash 'Everybody Have Fun Tonight,' with its now famous line ''Everybody Wang Chung Tonight'' which saw the invention of a new US verb: ''to Wang Chung'."

In 2024 Wang Chung’s hit song 'Dance Hall Days’ was featured almost in its entirety in the 2024 hit movie starring Anne Hathaway titled 'The Idea of You.'  'To Live and Die in LA' also got used as the theme tune for the John Mulaney Netflix show ‘Everybody’s in LA.'

And now, fans will be able to experience all of Wang Chung's classics via 'Clear Light/Dark Matter.'

From Wang Chung:

"Our songs often have an accessible front end, but there's always a deeper layer beneath the surface—whether it's lyrically or musically. 'Clear Light, Dark Matter' reflects that balance between the light and the dark, the yin and yang, or as we like to say, the Wang and the Chung of what we do.” -Nick Feldman

2024 was certainly a successful year for Wang Chung, starting off spectacularly last February with the first US landing on the Moon since 1972. The Moon lander’s data storage unit had all Wang Chung’s album covers together with photos of Nick and Jack and their families uploaded onto it.
Later in the year, 'Dance Hall Days' was featured almost in its entirety in the aforementioned smash hit movie starring Anne Hathaway, titled 'The Idea of You’.  'To Live and Die in L.A.' also got used as the theme tune for the John Mulaney Netflix show 'Everybody's in LA.'
On the live front, the band continued to wow audiences wherever they played throughout their extensive touring in 2024.

2025 looks to be even more notable for Wang Chung, with the release of ‘Clear Light Dark Matter’ and ‘Live at El Mocambo’, as well as even more touring in North America, Australia, UK and around the world throughout the year. Plus the band plans to mark the 40th anniversary of ‘To Live and Die in LA’ later in the year….details to come on that.

Founded in 2019, Seattle-based SING Inc. is a music technology company specializing in deluxe collector’s editions and high-fidelity vinyl records. We focus on fostering the relationship between artists and fans by creating products of high quality and cultural importance. THIS IS GWAR: Special Screening & Q&A With Kevin Smith At Smodcastle Cinemas

Smodcastle Cinemas, owned by filmmaker and pop culture icon Kevin Smith, will host a special screening of THIS IS GWAR on Saturday, August 30th, in Atlantic Highlands, NJ. This definitive documentary dives into the wild and blood-soaked history of GWAR, the most outrageous band in shock rock, chronicling their rise from underground misfits to intergalactic legends.

Following the screening, Kevin Smith himself will host an exclusive Q&A with members of GWAR, offering fans an inside look at the band’s decades-long reign of chaos. For the ultimate GWAR experience, attendees will also have the chance to participate in a photo op with Kevin and GWAR members in their blood-soaked battle armor.

“As a relic of the 90’s, I’m happy to help celebrate these bloody legends who’ve been enthralling audiences since the 80’s!" says Kevin Smith. GWAR has not only stayed true to their gruesome roots all this time, they’ve also carved out their place in industry history.”

GWAR’s The Berserker Blöthar aka Dr. Michael Bishop, Ph.D., adds:

“You ridiculous humans could learn a few things from Kevin Smith. If you've seen any of his movies, you probably already have. He wrote the 37 dicks scene (genius), he cast Alanis Morissette as God, he's the King of Jorts, and he is GWAR approved. We are stoked to get stoned and hang out at his theater drinking watered-down soda and answering the questions of our pimply-faced legion of fans.”

🎟 Ticket Options:

  • Screening + Q&A – $25

  • Screening + Q&A + Photo Op with Kevin & GWAR – $100

Don’t miss this epic night of shock, spectacle, and intergalactic chaos!

About GWAR:

The story of GWAR is carved across the history of this hopeless planet, but GWAR themselves are not of this world…Their story begins far past Uranus, in the deepest reaches of space, where the beings known as GWAR were warriors in the Scumdogs of the Universe, an elite fighting force in the army of the Master of All Reality. But GWAR proved too reckless and powerful, and after a series of tragic but hilarious blunders, they were banished to the furthest reaches of the galaxy, with orders to conquer an insignificant backwater prehistoric mudball known as the planet Earth. Once here, GWAR, the original Ancient Aliens, shaped the face of the globe, wiping out the dinosaurs, and mating with apes to create the human race. Having accidentally given rise to all human history, the Master of All Reality froze them in Antarctic ice where they could do no more harm. It was there they were discovered by a shady entrepreneur known as Sleazy P Martini, who sat the band down in front of professional wrestling, late-night horror movies, heavy metal music, and a steady diet of crack cocaine until GWAR became the cultural force they are today!

UK alt-pop artist SICKY shares 'Billy Cousins' from adventurous third album 'Troubled Delight'

British indie alt-pop artist SICKY presents 'Billy Cousins', the first track on track on his third album 'Troubled Delight'. Written about a fictional character, Cousins is an imaginary superhero you can pretend to be when you find yourself doubting everything.

SICKY is the solo project of Mick Butler, whose brand of Britpop-infused indie rock borrows flickering elements from Beck, Supergrass and Blur. Originally from England's Black Country, he now lives in Shropshire. Formerly with several bands, ranging from the brass-soaked pop of Papa Mantra to the dirty stomp of SUMO, Butler now derives pleasure from banging out new SICKY material.

Empowering, fun and fearless, every track on 'Troubled Delight' is under three minutes. Three songs feature Jen Bone (Project Blues Band) on double bass, adding a bounce and flow to proceedings. Rebecca Butler sings on 'Mankind' and Lily and Scarlet Butler contribute backing vocals on the lead track 'I'm Happy If You're Happy'

Just recently, SICKY also shared the single 'Slide', capturing the gritty reality of a relapse into harmful behaviour and the painful aftermath, reflecting a deeply personal and relatable struggle.

“'Billy Cousins' is a song about an imaginary character you can pretend to be when you find yourself doubting everything. The production is probably inspired by the Prince era, which left its mark on me. I’m talking about the Get Off/Sexy MF/Batman era. Big beats, outrageous grooves and killer hooklines. The little purple one blew me away with this stuff,” says SICKY.

“The video features a scene from the wonderfully nuts 1963 film ‘It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World’, which had just about every famous face from the time in it. A film that was shown regularly on TV, I can still hear my mom howling with laughter at the over-the-top characters – laughing so hard she’d have to leave the room. The Dick Shawn (real name!) character Sylvester in the video has something of Billy Cousins about him… Not a stoned care in the world, so the song’s a bit of fun in these trying times. If you want to step out and breathe for two minutes and fifty-five seconds, 'Billy Cousins' could be the perfect escape from the madness of reality.”

Other songs on this album are about real life happenings. Happy moments, fallings out, false promises and even a sense of fun even in the darker moments, showing that you don't have to make depressing music to talk about hard life realities. 'Ten Minutes'features Bridgnorth’s St. Leonard’s church bell. 'Money For The News' has sliding doors at a Stourbridge shopping centre. 'My Girl’s Gone' has a snippet from the film 'Quatermass and the Pit' with kind permission from Hammer Films in London. 'The Hill' recounts the pain of a 22-mile charity walk (never again!), kind of a metaphor for life.

SICKY first appeared on the scene (in this incarnation) during the lockdowns of 2021, releasing his debut album 'Bowling Balls', which was partially inspired by Prince, Bowie and Ray Bradbury's book 'The Martian Chronicles'.  In 2023, SICKY released his sophomore album 'Garbage Town' to wide acclaim.

The 'Troubled Delight' album is out now and available from fine digital platforms, including SpotifyApple Music and Bandcamp.

Breakout Country Artist Maddox Batson Releases 'First Dance' EP

Powered by a stunning year of early hits, rising country sensation Maddox Batson unveils his highly anticipated First Dance EP, available now via Prosper Entertainment/Warner Records. The multi-instrumental singer-songwriter continues to captivate audiences with his heartfelt storytelling and signature sound, building on a story which has already caught global attention. Listen to First Dance HERE.

With millions of streams to his name, Batson first connected with fans through his viral hits like “Tears In The River” and “I Wanna Know,” showcasing raw talent and deep emotional resonance. His instinctive ability to blend classic country roots with a fresh, modern twist has made him one of the most exciting new voices in the genre today.

First Dance features seven tracks with the same youthful magnetism, including highlights like the single “Girl In Green.” Showcasing his stunning signature style, Batson paints a cinematic picture on the catchy chorus, “Tell me, have you seen the girl in green? Felt like a movie, yes it could’ve been a dream.” The music video for “Girl In Green” is set to premiere at 1pm PT on Friday, March 21 - watch HERE.

On “Problem,” soft spoken acoustic guitar fills the emotional gaps between slick snaps and buoyant beats. Dealing with the turbulence of a toxic relationship, Batson comes to an empowering realization on the unshakable refrain, “Baby, what you mad at me for? Maybe you’re the problem.” He shares a perceptive fusion of spirit and soul on the moving “God Talkin’,” and then, there’s the romantic clarity of “It Was You.” Loose acoustic guitar underlines his emotionally charged hook, “The one thing I've been missing, it was you.” Full track listing below.

Setting the stage for First Dance, Batson’s new EP arrives after the standout “I Don’t Like You Anymore.” The latter is approaching 1 million Spotify streams and 2.6 million YouTube views on its accompanying music video. It follows in the wake of the buzzing “X’s,” which has already amassed over 5.7 million Spotify streams in addition to 11 million YouTube views on the music video.

This spring, the charismatic singer-songwriter and performer is set to hit the road once again with headlining tour dates in New York City, Dallas, Chicago and more, along with a performance at Stagecoach Music Festival in Indio, CA. Following high demand, Batson upgraded venues across the country with limited tickets remaining. This fall, he’s set to join one of country’s biggest stars, supporting Lainey Wilson’s Whirlwind Tour.

In a short time, Batson has skyrocketed to the forefront of country music fueled by a series of popular independent singles. Born just north of Nashville, Tenn. and raised in Birmingham, Ala., the now 15-year-old developed a fervent passion for music as a kid. Eventually, he cultivated a sharp signature style by infusing classic country storytelling and swagger with southern rock energy, pop palatability and distinctive grooves. With cuts like a current Lana Del Rey and Quavo single “Tough,” the “Tears In The River” singer will soon make his debut on the Grand Ole Opry Stage on March 26, 2025.

About Maddox Batson:
Maddox Batson navigates the world with wisdom and wit far beyond his 15 years. After the Nashville-born, Alabama-based songwriter began gaining notoriety covering songs from Zach Bryan, Red Clay Strays, and more, he started to write his own songs. Thanks to early singles like “Tears In The River” and “I Wanna Know,” Batson quickly showed that he wasn’t only a star at covering country hits, but an excellent writer of his own home-cooked cuts – a practice he saw first-hand as a co-writer on Lana Del Rey and Quavo’s smash hit collaboration, “Tough.”

With the arrival of his latest single, “Girl In Green” and his EP First Dance, Batson is ready to show the world what he can create all while preparing for sold-out live shows across the country, his debut appearance at Stagecoach Music Festival and more new music. Life is moving fast for the multi-instrumentalist (piano, guitar & mandolin)who has fully embraced his next-up in country-pop music.  “It can be overwhelming, this life, but I’ve got a lot of good people surrounding me,” he explains. “I’m still just a kid, though, and I’m happy about that.” More at MaddoxBatson.com.

Japanese Quintet coldrain Sign to Century Media Records

Freshly signed to Century Media Records, Japanese band coldrain are unleashing their newest work by the name “INCOMPLETE” - a song that captures the essence of feeling lost in a chaotic word. With this powerful and hopeful anthem, the quintet from Japan provides the perfect balance between heaviness and big rock sounds which will excite fans and new listeners alike. “INCOMPLETE” is coldrain’s first release since signing to Century Media Records.

About the single, coldrain shares:

“When we draw closer to perfection, we lose something deeply human. Perhaps it is our incompleteness and the longing to be perfect that makes us truly human. We must never forget what it means to be human. We must never forget that we are not alone. We must never forget to care for one another. This is an anthem for the imperfect, the incomplete, the beautifully human.”.

About coldrain:

Formed in 2007 in Nagoya, Japan, and with a total of seven studio albums under their belt, coldrain is certainly not a new name in the scene. While releasing music in English, the quintet is known for blending melodic singing with heavy instrumentals and screaming, finding the perfect balance between genres. Through touring with international names such as Bullet for My Valentine and Papa Roach, coldrain has built an international audience over the years.

Pop Evil Release 8th Studio Album "What Remains" and Share Music Video for "Side Effects"

Modern rock powerhouse POP EVIL — vocalist Leigh Kakaty, guitarists Dave Grahs and Nick Fuelling, bassist Joey "Chicago" Walser, and drummer Blake Allison — have proudly released their eighth album WHAT REMAINS. It arrived today, March 21, via MNRK. Get it here.

Pop Evil have also shared the video for "Side Effects." Watch the performance clip for the ferocious track, which is loaded with explosive riffs and a tectonic plate-shifting breakdown, below

The song is an arena-ready juggernaut and boasts rueful lines such as "The world I built you tried to tear apart" and "Why did I try so hard to prove / What's killing you is killing me too," serving a powerful, unshielded message for anyone who has found themselves in a toxic situation and seeks the strength to break free for their own happiness and growth.

"Every action causes a reaction, a side effect," says Kakaty. "Toxicity is a virus that spreads and kills, but liberation and healing lies in an antidote you already possess. And now is the time to take it."

The band will also hit the road on a massive Spring 2025 headline tour. They will hit the road on April 8 in Tulsa and the trek runs through May 18 in Bloomington, Indiana. Devour the Day (which features members of Pop Evil), Return to Dust, and Oni will serve as support.

For two decades, Pop Evil frontman Leigh Kataky has needed to mine the deepest of reserves in order to drag the band up from the blue-collar grassroots of his local Michigan scene to stand proud at the top of the modern rock game. Soaring successes, bitter defeats… Leigh Kakaty has survived it all.

What Remains is the culmination and story of this journey with Pop Evil, laid bare like never before. Continuing in the recent vein of 2023's acclaimed Skeletons, the new opus is both sonically and thematically Pop Evil's heaviest ever offering; a thundering collection of arena-ready modern rock and metal hits in which Kakaty opens heart, mind, and soul.

"There are a lot of issues and things that I've dealt with in this journey of Pop Evil that I've buried for a long time," the frontman explains of this document of resilience, perseverance, and accountability.

Pop Evil were born in North Muskegon, Michigan in 2001, Kakaty drawing on the lessons of a youth first shaped not by music, but by high school basketball — leadership, team work, the drive to improve in the lonely hours put in at the gym at 5am, the will to win suppressing any fear — in order to fight tooth and nail for their break-out moment.

"I was hustling and learning every day to make my dreams come true," Kakaty recalls of his time playing local bars and slinging early EPs out of the back of his truck. "Studying never interested me. Neither did getting a regular job. A knee injury wrecked my shot at playing sports. Music was all I wanted to do from that moment, and I didn't give myself a backup plan. Pop Evil gave me a purpose, and a reason to get up every day. It became a crusade."

Lipstick on the Mirror, their 2008 debut, and its follow-up, War of Angels, brought acclaim and global attention; 2013's Onyx delivered the first of the band's nine No.1 singles and six RIAA-certified gold and platinum plaques, but also a period of darkness brought on by the grief of Kakaty losing his father. "I was completely lost … I had just missed the last five years with my dad, chasing this dream when I could have been with him. I didn’t know if I wanted or could do Pop Evil any more," he says. The band's 2017 self-titled album, opened by the smash-hit "Waking Lions" was written "pretty much to save my life" – but in turn “reminded me of the fire I have inside, and that God put me here to make music that could help people."

It's a mission statement enshrined in Pop Evil to this day — and which provided the spark for the genesis of What Remains.

“You're always chasing that one song that can connect with that one person," Kakaty says. "And that process has to start with yourself. There's a lot of personal healing on this record, a lot of things I wanted to get out for my own mental well-being. I'm finally at a place where I can confront my demons."

Sonically, the album is a riotous explosion of life-affirming noise; a vortex of scything riffs and gut-punch drum beats that regularly give way to Pop Evil's hallmark anthemic choruses.

"We set out to push boundaries," nods Kakaty. "Metal has always been a part of our DNA, but we've never made it such a focal point before. A lot of writing on this record has been about listening to what my soul is saying and letting the songs find their own path, rather than chasing a sound that might fit in on the radio. I think you can really hear the mood and emotion of the album's themes in the music."

SENNA Unleash Explosive New Single "Hurricane"— WATCH

German metalcore band SENNA are back with a storm, delivering their electrifying new single "Hurricane," serving as the latest preview of their forthcoming debut album Stranger To Love out May 23 via SharpTone Records.

With its relentless energy and captivating soundscapes, "Hurricane" embodies the chaos of the mind and the struggle to find clarity within it.

Speaking on the new single, the band shares, "'Hurricane' is an intense, electrifying track that takes you on a journey through emotion and energy. With its powerful rhythm and captivating sound, we wanted to capture the chaos of the mind and the struggle to find clarity amidst it. It’s a song for anyone navigating their own storm, seeking release and strength in the face of adversity."

Watch the video for "Hurricane" Below:

Following the success of their previous singles "High Note," "Rain," and "Blackout," new track "Hurricane" further cements SENNA's ability to craft music that resonates on a deeply personal level while pushing the boundaries of their sound. With Stranger To Love, SENNA present an intimate and deeply reflective collection of songs that explore the subtleties of human connection and personal growth.

Marcel, speaking on the album's themes, shares, "Stranger To Love is a collection of anecdotes from our own personal lives. These stories are not special in the sense that they are not extraordinary or unique to just us. They are not these once-in-a-lifetime experiences that change everything. They're the kinds of experiences that happen quietly, in everyday moments. A conversation that didn't go as planned. Feelings that linger longer than they should. Slowly realizing that things have changed in a relationship. What makes these stories meaningful is not that they are special, but that they are real. They happen to us, they happen to people everywhere, every day. Sometimes they happen in obvious ways, sometimes in ways that barely get noticed. They’re part of what it means to figure things out. In the end, these moments connect us, even if we experience them in our own way."

ABOUT BLOODYWOOD:
Bloodywood — comprised of Karan Katiyar, Jayant Bhadula, and Raoul Kerr — craft hard-hitting yet modern folk metal sound has made the world sit up, take notice, show up, and sing along. The band previously announced its worldwide signing to Fearless Records and shared the music/video for the song "Nu Delhi," which offers some insight into the band's history, as well as its home city.

Bloodywood first caught the attention of the internet with their YouTube channel, when multi-instrumentalist, producer, and composer Katiyar and vocalist Bhadula were about to get deadly serious about their craft. Bolstered by the support they were getting, Bloodywood dropped "Ari Ari" in 2018. A Punjabi folk song made famous in the early 2000s remix boom in India by hip-hop act Bombay Rockers, Bloodywood pushed it further with help from the gritty New Delhi-based conscious hip-hop artist/rapper Raoul Kerr.

With the additional accessibility from Kerr's English rap verses, Katiyar's inimitable flute melody, and Bhadula's powerful vocals, the band's first original song "Jee Veerey" dropped in 2018 and brought a flood of praise from around the world. With this release, the band discovered its sound and message. Songs like "Endurant" (an anti-bullying anthem) and "Machi Bhasad (Expect A Riot)" arrived in 2019 saw Bloodywood level up, adding Kerr as a full-time member. "We're trying to push the limits of the impact that music can have on the world," says Kerr. "Whether it's the battles within or the fight for a better world, our sound is meant to bring everyone together and win."

Joined on tour by drummer Vishesh Singh (a fixture since their early days), bassist Roshan Roy (a seasoned figure in New Delhi's indie music scene) and dhol player Sarthak Pahwa, Bloodywood took their music out of the studio and to concerts across Europe, UK and Russia for their first-ever tour.  The sold-out "Raj Against The Machine Tour" in 2019 was proof that an Indian metal band’s global online following would convert into packed venues.

Even a global pandemic couldn't stop the juggernaut that was Bloodywood — "Yaad," released in early 2020 had deepened their storytelling. The band followed it up in late 2021 with "Gaddaar," taking aim at how politicians use religion to gain votes. Songs like "Aaj" and "Dana Dan" (the latter rallying against rape culture) built up to the release of their debut self-released album Rakshak in 2022. It was important to them to keep fighting the good fight, whether it was against one's closely-held inner demons or the decaying standards of global governance. It earned them a nomination for Best International Breakthrough Artist at the Heavy Music Awards in 2022.

Bloodywood went on to perform to packed crowds and at major global festivals — from Lollapalooza India, Download Festival, Bloodstock (UK), Hellfest (France), Summer Breeze (Germany) to Brutal Assault (Czechia), to Fuji Rock (Japan) and American mainstays like Louder Than Life and Aftershock.

In 2024, "Dana Dan" even made it to a pivotal sequence in the Jordan Peele-produced action movie Monkey Man, directed by and starring Dev Patel.  Now, after more than a year of chipping away at their new material, Bloodywood are ready to unleash to the world their second album in the first part of 2025 showing the depth and power of Indian Folk Metal.

Progressive Super Metallers IMMINENT SONIC DESTRUCTION Release New Single "No One" + Playthrough Video

Progressive super metallers IMMINENT SONIC DESTRUCTION are excited to release their new single "No One" from their upcoming album 'Floodgate', releasing on April 25th. The new single is accompanied by a playthrough video featuring guitarist Tony Piccoli and keyboardist Pete Hopersberger, available to view below.

On the single, guitarist/vocalist Tony Piccoli shares:

"I wanted to write something that was aggressive, and utilized the 7 string guitar. (GCGCFAD for those NERDS that were wondering). Musically, I wanted some speed, a lot of double bass, and screamy higher pitched vocals. NAILED IT. Lyrically, I wanted the song to be simple; 'No One gives a damn!' and it's true. Scream till your blue in the face about something you care about, share your political opinion, opine about your favorite progressive supermetal band...no one cares! 'They never have, and they never will,' and that's OK. Now grab your guitar, play some aggressive shit, and have some fun with it for YOU."

About the video, Piccoli adds:

"It's totally goofy, and a great showcase of my skills of hiding my gut behind a SICK looking Jackson guitar (sponsor me, please). Pete joined me for a guitar/keyboard playthrough because I figured this song had the most going on and was worthy of a video. The guys at Akuro Productions did a great job filming and editing. Enjoy all my very dumb faces, and don't be afraid to DM me for personal guitar lessons. (I definitely nailed all the guitar bits in one take). Send the video to your friends, and help us get to 100K views, thanks."

IMMINENT SONIC DESTRUCTION (ISD), hailing from Metro Detroit, have carved out their niche in the metal world with their signature Progressive Super Metal sound. Since their debut album 'Recurring Themes' (2012), produced by Roy Z, the band has toured with the likes of Pain of Salvation, Kingcrow, Fates Warning, and Circus Maximus, steadily building their reputation.

After their critically acclaimed concept album 'Triumphia' and their emotional third release 'The Sun Will Always Set', ISD are set to return in 2025 with their fourth album, 'Floodgate', once again produced by Nick Hagen. 'Floodgate' promises a dynamic mix of concise, heavy, and epic tracks, rich with vocal harmonies and standout performances from every member. This album pushes the band’s progressive metal songwriting even further, marking another milestone in their evolution.

About the album, Piccoli states:

"'Floodgate' is the idea that after a significant event in life, artists and musicians alike tend to open up the floodgate of creativity and let it all out. This album is a celebration of that floodgate opening up. We’re super proud of this one, and we hope you’ll enjoy the different paths this album will take you.”
