Estonian Metalcore Quartet PRIDIAN Share Third Single “Out For Blood”

It might be their biggest year yet: After announcing their signing to label Century Media Records last September and releasing two hard-hitting singles, PRIDIAN isn't slowing down anytime soon. The band from Estonia is delivering their third single with “Out For Blood” while continuously teasing their upcoming album, which is set for a spring release this year.

“Out For Blood” is almost a battle cry with its raw, hard-hitting lyrics, which encapsulate a relentless pursuit of justice while overcoming influences and perceptions from the outside world. Musically, the track captivates with a chaotic nature through its energetic riffs paired with EDM-style synths. Initially formed in 2018 by guitarists Jörg-Erik Hanikat and Martin Randalu, drummer Robert Leht, and completed by singer Laur Lindmäe, who joined in 2021, Estonian band PRIDIANquickly evolved their very own style and take on modern metal. Having released an album called 'The Rotten Unknown' under their name ÆØNS in 2021, the band was nominated for the “Metal Album of The Year” at the Estonian Music Awards and built the foundation of what’s to come under their new name.

In reaction to the devastating situation that Los Angeles has been experiencing with the wildfires, the Get Together Foundation in cooperation with Rock Cellar Productions is making a difference. Plans are set for a fire relief concert that will take place on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, starting at 6:00PM at The Canyon in Agoura Hills, CA. LA-based musicians will unite for the “SHOW OF HELPING HANDS” –an evening of live music and more in
support of this worthy cause. ELECTRO-POP SENSATION M THE MYTH RELEASES FIRST SINGLE OF 2025, "WHIPLASH"

Electro-pop innovator, M the Myth, kicks off the year with their latest single, “Whiplash,” a haunting exploration of heartbreak and healing. Released today, the track pushes boundaries both sonically and emotionally, blending lush electro-pop textures with deeply introspective lyrics.

“Whiplash” began as a soft piano ballad, but under the skilled production of DJ and producer Niño Neon, the song evolved into a vivid electronic odyssey. “Niño has such incredible taste, and his knowledge of the Latinx alt-pop scene was crucial in shaping the direction of ‘Whiplash,’” says M the Myth. “He pushed me to bring more to the

track, and I trusted his vision. We replaced the piano with a Reese bass and added mid-range distortion, creating a crisp and saturated sound. Together, we crafted an electronic wasteland that’s both dreamlike and surreal.”

Drawing inspiration from avant-garde artists like Rubio and her track “Invierno,” “Whiplash” unfolds as a shadowy landscape, where shimmering synth waves collide with ethereal time-based effects. The result is a minimalist yet immersive experience that invites listeners to float through the vast emotional space of the song. “This track is more stripped down than anything I’ve done before,” M the Myth shares. “The space in the song allows every element to breathe, amplifying the emotional weight of the lyrics. Niño’s expertise was key in building the tension in the verses and creating the forward movement in the chorus, a reflection of the journey through pain and toward healing.”

The bridge, written in collaboration with Grammy-nominated songwriter Rodney Alejandro, became a highlight of the creative process. “Rodney was unstoppable,” M the Myth recalls. “Within moments, the bridge came to life as if struck by lightning. He encouraged me to bare my soul in the lyrics, and that authenticity is the heart of this track.”

Vocally, “Whiplash” demanded a new level of intensity. “I had to stretch my voice into falsetto and then belt on the word ‘whiplash.’ It was challenging but necessary to capture the raw emotion of the song. We recorded late into winter nights, and those sessions became an emotional release in themselves.” At its core, “Whiplash” is a song about healing. “Heartbreak is messy and raw, often feeling endless,” says M the Myth.“I hope this track resonates with my fans, offering them space to reflect on their own journeys while introducing a new dimension of my artistry.”

Psycho-Frame Sign With SharpTone, Band Shares "FEED" Double Single Feat. "NO REVIVES" + "FEED"

"'NO REVIVES' is a high-paced track containing all of the elements that have defined PSYCHO-FRAME thus far, sonically consisting of innate technicality and crushing heaviness," the band says. Viscerally technical, crushingly heavy, PSYCHO-FRAME are a band comprised of several veterans of metal's various subgenres with a purpose of creating aggressive and immolating music. NYC outfit ECCE SHNAK shares 'The Internet' single ahead of new 'Shadows Grow Fangs' EP

NYC-based outfit Ecce Shnak presents their latest single 'The Internet', the third offering from their 'Shadows Grow Fangs' EP, out February 7 via Record Man, Records. Here, the quintet makes a fine mockery of the web from the perspective of a time-travelling poet. “What the fuck is the internet?!” Of course, this might sound a little ‘zany’, but it’s really not. Not at all. It’s intricately constructed, methodically fashioned, and – while undeniably offbeat – as serious and logical as it’s entertaining.

If there’s a fine line between wild-eyed, inspired genius and utter, irrepressible insanity, that’s where you’ll find Ecce Shnak, teetering on a neon tightrope. With Roush as composer, bassist, and one of two singers, he is joined by Bella Komodromos (vocals), Chris Krasnow (guitar), Gannon Ferrell (guitar), and Henry Buchanan-Vaughn(drums).

"The internet unites us as much as it alienates us. It is an avenue of both extreme bigotry and genuine human empathy, transmitted through the wires in the ocean and on the lands. This technology is as ubiquitous as it is fun as it is dangerous. It amplifies every part of human nature exponentially: our banalities, our flaws, and occasionally, even our virtues. It is as boring as it is exhilarating," says David Roush.

"Even the technicians of this digital landscape cannot fully grasp its effect on our lives. In this very perilous moment in human history, the internet could either make things very horrible, or it might help us in some critical ways. It is the ultimate paradox of human creation. Hence the question, “What the fuck is the Internet?” (Cue down beat)"

This single follows the stunning downtempo groove-inducing opus 'Prayer on Love' and the lead track 'Jeremy, Utilitarian Sadboy' about 19th Century English philosopher Jeremy Bentham, combining math-metal, post-rock and choral anthems in just 150 seconds.

Recorded and produced by Jeff Lucci at the Art Farm (NY), their debut EP was mixed by Nicholas Vernhes  (Animal Collective, Deerhunter, The Fiery Furnaces, Dirty Projectors, Wild Nothing, The War on Drugs) and mastered by Grammy-winning engineer Greg Calbi (John Lennon, David Bowie, Bruce Springsteen, Talking Heads, Patti Smith, Tom Petty, Todd Rundgren).

Ecce Shnak subverts notions of style, playfully but reverently embracing multiple forms from across the spectrum, frequently within a single tune, while addressing weighty themes and notable trivia with striking articulacy.
 
'Shadows Grow Fangs' showcases Roush’s incomparable ingenuity and limitless invention over five songs, running the gamut from slow-burning meditations on love’s indispensability to mockery of the web from the perspective of a time-traveling poet – “What the fuck is the internet?!” Of course, this might sound a little ‘zany’, but it’s really not. Not at all. It’s intricately constructed, methodically fashioned, and – while undeniably offbeat – as serious and logical as it’s entertaining.
 
Talking with Roush is like meeting a thoughtful stranger with extraordinary knowledge of the weird and arcane, a fascination for society and what led us to where we are, and a noteworthy ability to share stories in an enlightening and empathetic manner. His narrative style is much like listening to an Ecce Shnak song, which frankly makes the band's name perfect. ("Ecce" is Latin for “Behold!”)

ABOUT THE BAND

Being part of Lynyrd Skynyrd was a life-changing opportunity for Artimus. Not only did he form a close friendship with singer Ronnie Van Zant, but the music he made with the band cemented his place in rock and roll history. He and the other band members were recognized for their talent in 2016 when they were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

Artimus continues to make music and share his talent through PYLETRIBE, a band formed by his son Chris Pyle.  "Chris is an incredibly talented musician and songwriter, and I know Ronnie Van Zant would be proud of him,” Artimus says.

"PYLETRIBE really has been in the making my entire life, although most of that time I was playing as a drummer in other people's stories", said Chris. "Then it hit me one day that I had a lot to say, so I picked up the guitar and started writing the songs, and of course I had to have my dad on drums.  Playing with my dad, who was in one of the biggest bands in the world, has been a joy.  And there's just this natural bond that we share musically, which feels just like breathing to us when we play.  We don't even have to think.”

"I was listening to a lot of grindcore and Chumbawamba when I wrote this song," says Maiello. "I grew my hair long. I worked at a metal venue/bar in Seattle. The metalheads were nice to me. The metalheads supported each other. This song is a reflection on the act of kindness, believing in your fellow humans, and finding community in an unlikely place."

Grindcore and... Chumbawamba? Amen to that!

Sumerian Films Drops Official Trailer For "Queen of The Ring" Biopic; Written & Directed By Ash Avildsen and Starring Emily Bett Rickards

Queen of the Ring, the inspiring true story of legendary professional wrestler Mildred Burke, is set to hit theaters on March 7, 2025, distributed by Sumerian Pictures. Written and directed by Ash Avildsen, the film, which is based on the book by the same name, has already garnered critical acclaim, earning Avildsen the Best Director Award at the 2024 Portland Film Festival. In 2023, after an illustrious cult career spanning more than 20 years, German melodic black metallers DARK FORTRESS came to an end. Now, the band is making one final offering to its fans; 'Anthems From Beyond The Grave - Live In Europe 2023' was recording during the band's final European run, 'The Cosmic End Tour,' in 2023. To celebrate today's release, the band is now sharing the official live video for the song, "The Silver Gate," which can be found below.

“I never thought DARK FORTRESS would have a live album,” says V. Santura (guitars). “The technical situation–we had multi-track recordings of two shows [Rotterdam and Bochum]–allowed for ‘Anthems from Beyond the Grave’ to happen. I didn’t even listen to the recordings for months after the tour. When I finally did, I thought, ‘Holy shit!’ We sounded incredible, and I'm hardly ever happy with our shows. All of our hard work had finally fallen into place on that tour. When Century Media heard it, they said, ‘We’ve gotta release it–it’s too good not to!' If this is our end and it definitely is, then it’s a fitting end to DARK FORTRESS.”

DARK FORTRESS' march to the grave was inevitable. The journey from signing with American independent Red Stream Records in 2001 to The Cosmic End Tour (with The Spirit and Asphagor) in 2023 was circuitous, full of highs and lows and rife with raw potential. Ultimately, DARK FORTRESS ended life after releasing their lauded final album, 'Spectres from the Old World,' in 2020. By all metrics, self-imposed death is better than zombie-lurching into oblivion.

Many fans didn't see DARK FORTRESS writing their "early’" epitaph, however. From “Eidolon”'s (2008) acclaimed film noir aesthetic of “Edge of Night” and the breakaway success of “Ylem”’s (2010) video/title track to publications Deaf Forever and Decibel awarding 'Spectres from the Old World' (2020) near-perfect scores, the Bavarians appeared invincible. Yet, DARK FORTRESS uncoiled on their terms, leaving their only live album, 'Anthems from Beyond the Grave,' as their final offering to the ancient and unspeakable forces of darkness and evil.
