Indigenous black metal master BLACKBRAID is pleased to reveal that his highly anticipated third studio album, aptly titled 'Blackbraid III,' is set for release in the summer of 2025! To celebrate, BLACKBRAID has partnered with Fire in the Mountains Festival to curate a special pre-release event where festival attendees will get to hear the record ahead of street date, which will be revealed along with additional details soon!

BLACKBRAID comments, "Today I am very pleased to announce that I have partnered with Fire in the Mountains to curate an exclusive pre-release event for my forthcoming full length 'Blackbraid III.' Festival goers will have the opportunity to hear the album in its entirety ahead of its release.

Fire in the Mountains will take place in Montana from July 25-27, 2025 at the Red Eagle Campground on the Blackfeet Nation Reserve. SUNSTORM Shares New Single "Hope's Last Stand" + Lyric Video

Today, AOR/Melodic rock quintet SUNSTORM shares a new single “Hope’s Last Stand”, taken from their third album, 'Restless Fight,' set for release on November 22nd, 2024, via Frontiers Music Srl. The track is accompanied by a new lyric video, available below.

Guitarist Aldo Lonobile says:

“'Hope’s Last Stand' is one of my favourite tracks. A solid rock song with an anthemic chorus. Ronnie really shines on this song, one of the strongest performances of the album!”

SUNSTORM is a project created, overseen, and directed by Serafino Perugino, President of Frontiers Records, and it was originally designed to showcase a musical style similar to singer Joe Lynn Turner’s Melodic Rock/AOR roots.

Since 2021, SUNSTORM has featured one of the most impressive vocal talents of recent years, Lords of Black and Rainbow singer Ronnie Romero. Romero’s debut album with SUNSTORM, 'Afterlife' was released in early 2021 and showcased a rejuvenation of SUNSTORM's previous musical formula, mixing Melodic Rock/AOR with more '70s-oriented hard rock, a la Rainbow (for which Romero performed as the singer).

Romero's voice and prolific musical activity have brought him to the forefront of the hard rock/metal scene where he can be seen/heard with Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow, The Michael Schenker Group, Lords of Black, The Ferrymen, and Elegant Weapons with Judas Priest guitarist Richie Faulkner. 

Ronnie Romero is also a prolific solo artist, with the release of his first two cover albums 'Raised On Radio' and 'Raised On Heavy Radio' – where he pays tribute to legendary artists from the metal world – and his latest work 'Too Many Lies, Too Many Masters', the first to feature all-new original material, released in September 2023.

With the new album 'Restless Fight,' the third to feature Ronnie Romero, SUNSTORMchanged its skin. The new line-up that backs Romero, comes from a heavy background. 

On guitars, Aldo Lonobile, musician, songwriter and producer (Geoff Tate's Sweet Oblivion, Archon Angel feat. Zak Stevens, Ring Of Fire feat. Mark Boals), Andrea Arcangeli (from the Italian progressive metal band DGM) on bass, Alfonso Mocerino (ex-Temperance, Virtual Simmetry) on drums and Antonio Agate (one of the most talented Italian keyboard players and arranger for symphonic orchestras, featured in countless albums) on keyboards. It brings back SUNSTORM’s classic AOR/Hard Rock formula with a heavy dose of energy culminating in a more dynamic and bombastic approach.

Since the inception of the new album’s production, the discussion has centered on the concept of keeping the roots of SUNSTORM’s musical style: the AOR sound of the early records that everyone wanted, but with special attention to the 80s way to arrange the guitars and keys in order to reach more powerful vibrations. The aim was to give a fresh appeal to the new music so that it could be the perfect foundation for Romero, who with his powerful vocal style, is the perfect fit to deliver the goods for the music.

The result is 'Restless Fight,' an album where Ronnie’s vocal acrobatics sit perfectly into Lonobile’s way to play guitars, clearly influenced by the 80’s guitar heroes such as Jake E. Lee/Steve Stevens, to name a few.

'Restless Fight' stands pretty tall in its own right and SUNSTORM is here to stay with a lot more to say!

When it came to the process of recording and putting all the pieces together, the band did not change a lot compared to the last projects. Again the music was written, recorded, and produced by MAJESTICA themselves. "Like our previous albums this one is also produced by ourselves, and we recorded most parts in our new place ”Majestic Studios”. For mixing we went back to Jonas Kjellgren as we have been very happy with the sound of ’A Christmas Carol’ and ’Metal United' says bassist Chris Davidsson. Regarding the amazing artwork for Power Train, Chrisexplains: "For the artwork we teamed up with Jan Yrlund / Darkgrove design. It invites you to join this majepic ride of the Power Train, imagine standing there on the platform eagerly waiting, and you hear ”all aboard”!".

TOUR
Shortly before the release of their new album, MAJESTICA will play a few shows, perfect to warm up for the upcoming album. The tour, which is called 'The Dead Don't Die Tour', kicks off on December 26th in Nürnberg, Germany. Along with headliners DOMINUM and support HAMMER KING, the Swedes are going to stop in seven cities. Furthermore, MAJESTICA will play a festival show at 'No Sleep After X-Mas Festival' in Runkel with some extra focus on their Christmas album A Christmas Carol on December 29th.

The beautiful monody that runs throughout the entire piece is deeply influenced by Greek and Romanian traditions, which are integral to Orthodoxy. In our new music, we aim to showcase different aspects of Orthodoxy. Just as the Prophet Ilja journeyed to Kronsztadt, we traveled far for musical inspiration to create a psalm in honor of the New Jerusalem that our prophet was building.

This song features our long-time singing teacher, Eliza Sacharczuk. We have been collaborating with her since 2016, continuously improving our singing skills through lessons and consultations. Our choice was intentional; Eliza has a truly unique voice. Listen and see for yourself!"

Reborn PATRIARKH (formerly Batushka) returns with

a masterpiece of arcane black metal!

'ПРОРОК ИЛИЯ' details a true story that happened in the band’s home area of Podlasie, in the village of Grzybowszczyzna, in the 1930s and 40s. The album takes the listener into the world of Eliasz Klimowicz, the titular Prophet Ilja, an illiterate peasant who was the leader of the Orthodox Grzybowska Sect, active until the 1960s, cultivating and transmitting the history of the self-proclaimed prophet. PATRIARKH spread their gospel by using an arsenal of folk instruments, such as tagelharpa, mandolin, mandocello, hurdy gurdy and stringed dulcimer, and worked with a symphony orchestra and choirs to give their new creations the most organic and vivid feeling possible. As is trademark with PATRIARKH’s music, Orthodox sacredness is mixed with black and doom metal, now largely enriched with folk music, neo dark folk, and even film music. The band utilizes the entire palette of Orthodox music, venturing into the areas of Byzantine monody, liturgical chant and Russian polyphony, neatly adapting folk and liturgical melodies to their own style. 

PATRIARKH on the new album:

“With this new release, we are starting a new chapter in our history - not only is our name changing, but our music is also undergoing a natural evolution. The story on the album encouraged us to get out of our comfort zone, we reached for means that we had not used before in our music. Many of you will wonder if this is still black metal? The lyrical side of 'ПРОРОК ИЛИЯ' is an interesting mix of theater and pastoralism. PATRIARKH uses fragments of texts from the theater play "Prorok Ilja" and draws from the messages contained in the works of Włodzimierz Pawluczuk, combining it with folk and liturgical texts. On 'ПРОРОК ИЛИЯ', listeners can hear various languages – and Polish for the first time ever! The album was recorded in January and May 2024 at Tall Pine Records (Behemoth, Zalewski, Afromental), Heinrich House (Behemoth, Vesania, Hate), Wem Studio (Kasa Chorych, Lukasyno, Cira) and Radio Białystok studio. Mixing and mastering was handled by Wojciech Wiesławski at Hertz Studio (Vader, Behemoth, Decapitated), and production was helmed by band mastermind and leading vocalist Bartłomiej "Варфоломей" Krysiuk. “ПРОРОК ИЛИЯ is an album full of emotions, sentimentalism and folklore. Since moving to Japan in 2003, MARTY FRIEDMAN has become a household name even beyond the world of music. 35 years in, Manchester's THE SPEED OF SOUND presents 'Artificial Paradise', previewing 'Bounty' LP

Manchester indie rock / power pop outfit The Speed Of Sound present 'Artificial Paradise', a hugely upbeat danceable rail against Artificial Intelligence, along with the B-side 'Jaunt', which also happens to be the first single revealed from the album 'A Cornucupia: Bounty' - the third of their album trilogy 'A Cornucopia: Minerva, Victory, Bounty', released via Big Stir Records.

Formed in 1989 with a pre-history dating back to the day Andy Warhol died in 1987, the band is  now made up of father and son John Armstrong (guitars and vocals) and Henry Armstrong (keyboards), Ann-Marie Crowley (vocals and guitar), Kevin Roache (bass guitar) and John Broadhurst (drums). 

"Already the 'music industry’ appears to have no actual interest in music beyond creating prefabricated manufactured ‘product’. The logical next step from their existing ‘talent factories’ and hologram concerts perpetuating careers of dead stars is for major labels to move to entirely virtual stars; AI singing AI songs with AI instruments. AI regurgitates what is available for it to scrape, it cannot create something new. There will be no advancement, no evolution, no change. There is no life without change," says John Armstrong.  

''Artificial Paradise' is uncompromisingly human and says a firmly grooved up “No” to Artificial Intelligence in music. The video uses A.I images which are all generated from the prompt “Artificial Paradise” and are all meaningless, formless and empty. Which is exactly what A.I does".

Full of ambition, energy and melodic brilliance, this three-album deluxe edition is available on vinyl and CD. Beginning with the 'Minerva' album, The Speed of Sound shared a rich bouquet of thought-provoking compositions, including the hauntingly spacious 'Trickledown', the stratospherically vast 'The Great Acceleration', the uplifting 'Mind Palace' and 'West Wind', where a recklessly fast rhythm merges with a Wagnerian horn section.

Scot music legend JOHN DOUGLAS (TRASHCAN SINATRAS) presents his 'Still or Sparkling?' EP

Celebrated songsmith John Douglas, co-founder and guitarist of beloved Scottish music icons Trashcan Sinatras presents his new 4-track 'Still Or Sparkling EP', out November 8 via Reveal Records, having returned home after wrapped up his debut headline North American tour (with select shows involving fellow Trashcans Frank Reader and Paul Livingston).

In the home stretch to his EP, Douglas introduces his rendition of 'Johnsburgh, Illinois', noting that he had dreamed of finding a love so strong as that which inspired this Tom Waits classic and finally did upon meeting his wife Eddi Reader (of Fairground Attraction fame and a solo artist in her own right),

He earlier shared the lead single 'Still Or Sparkling?', evoking the early days of any relationship…. the getting to know each other phase, flirtatious and light, in which he also name-checks the unlikely trio of Shirley Collins, Annie Briggs and Michelangelo. John Douglas says, "This is a new song of new love… the fresh, early days. Inspired by a late night date with my future wife, spent listening to folk records, eating figs and getting to know each other."

A slight move away from his acoustic debut album while maintaining a natural 'no overdubs' approach, this EP involves contributions by some stellar musicians, including Eddi Reader, Boo Hewerdine (The Bible), Kevin Mcguire and Alan Kelly - all also part of Reader's band.

In 2023, John Douglas released his eponymous debut album via Reveal Records, recorded with renowned producer Mark Freegard (New Model Army, Lush, The Breeders, Del Amitri, Marillion). Other highlights of the year include a UK headlining tour, UK Top-40 charting of Trashcan Sinatras' reissued album 'Cake' (33 years since debuting), and a Trashcan Sinatras documentary, produced by award-winning journalist Ken Sweeney, featuring Douglas performing beloved Trashcans' songs.

Douglas also recently shared his version of 'Weightlifting' for the 20th anniversary of the milestone Trashcan Sinatras album with that name, preceded by videos for 'Oranges & Apples', 'I Just Want To Go Home', 'Lost', 'I'm Not The Fella', 'Always'and 'Leave Me Alone'.

Country Music Star and Army Reserve Soldier Craig Morgan to perform during “Salute To Service 2024: A Veterans Day Celebration” on PBS

Country music star and Army Reserve soldier Craig Morgan will interview and perform alongside the United States Army Field Band, Six-String Soldiers, during “Salute To Service 2024: A Veterans Day Celebration,” airing Friday, November 8, at 9pm ET / 8pm CT on PBS. Hosted by Mickey Guyton, the show will also feature performances from Christian McBride and Aubrey Logan and share stories of veteran heroes from all six military branches.

Miranda Lambert’s MuttNation-Tractor Supply Relief for Rescues Fund Donates $250,000 to Support Hurricane Recovery

Country music icon Miranda Lambert’s MuttNation-Tractor Supply Relief for Rescues Fund has made initial donations totaling $250,000 to help 32 animal shelters and organizations across multiple states that were impacted by the recent hurricanes.

“Helene hit the week before our Music for Mutts benefit concert, and it only seemed right to use the event to help with hurricane recovery efforts. Then Milton came right behind it – packing a devastating one-two punch,” said Lambert. “Thankfully, and thanks to all the animal loving supporters who’ve made donations to our MuttNation-Tractor Supply Relief for Rescues Fund, we were able to quickly get help where it was needed most. We know this will be a very long recovery and we’re committed to helping our four-legged friends and the people who care for them get back on their feet.”

Music for Mutts, the 15th anniversary MuttNation Foundation celebration presented by Tractor Supply, featured a memorable night of performances celebrated by Billboard for “the vocal power and camaraderie onstage” from Lambert, Little Big Town, Dan + Shay, HARDY, Riley Green, Lukas Nelson, Ashley Monroe and Natalie Hemby, in addition to a special opening set by Jake Worthington. After a 20-year hiatus, TMG returns with original members Tak Matsumoto (guitarist and member of the Japanese rock superstars B’z), Jack Blades (Night Ranger) and Eric Martin(Mr. Big), reigniting the powerhouse trio’s signature rock sound. Originally launched in 2004, TMG wowed fans worldwide with their unique fusion of hard-hitting rock and oriental influences. Now, after two decades, they’re set to do it all again.

Tak Matsumoto explains how the project came to life:

“Twenty-one years ago, I met Jack and Eric at The Fillmore in San Francisco. I suggested we collaborate, and that’s how TMG was born. We came together in LA to write our first single,“OH JAPAN”, which sparked the creation of our debut album, 'TMG I', and an incredible tour throughout Japan, ending with a memorable performance at the Budokan. Though we’ve stayed in touch, life pulled us in different directions, and two decades slipped by. In 2022, I reached out with a proposal to reunite.”

“Now, in 2024, TMG has completed our latest album, 'TMG II', featuring the talented drummerMatt Sorum. We’re excited to share this album, a blend of Japanese and American musical sensibilities. We hope you enjoy it!”, adds Matsumoto.

The recording line-up for this album includes Matt Sorum (Guns N' Roses and Velvet Revolver) on drums, and Yukihide “YT” Takiyama, who is well known for recording and live support for B'z, on guitar and arrangements.

Today's single, “Crash Down Love,” is impressively catchy and symbolizes the new TMGsound, while “Guitar Hero”, whose lyrics were written by Jack Blades with Tak in mind, may just be the best example of the band's evolved sound.

“I was able to create a truly exciting and convincing piece of work with my wonderful band members,” says Tak. The Japanese metal act BABYMETAL, appears as a special guest in a killer and groovy Dance-Metal song called “Eternal Flames” where their duet with Eric Martinis truly unique!

GIRISH AND THE CHRONICLES Return with New Single “KAAL” Out Now via Frontiers Music Srl

Indian rockers GIRISH AND THE CHRONICLES are thrilled to unveil their new single and accompanying video “Kaal” now via Frontiers Music Srl.

The track represents a first for the band, featuring a chorus sung in Nepalese. It is a heavy song, a little different from the band’s usual sound, aiming to tap into a new audience that listens to Nepali Rock/Metal music.

The band is also currently on their Re-Ignition Tour 2024, which started in Trollhättan, Sweden, on October 25 and will end in Troon, UK, on November 30. They are also set to perform at the oldest and one of the biggest Rock fests in India, Mahindra Independence Rock, to be held in the city of Mumbai.

Girish Pradhan comments on the new single, by saying:

“I know I would eventually sing in my Native language of Nepali, some day, but I had no clue it would come about this way. 'Kaal', which also translates to 'The End/Doom' etc, is a musical force. We wanted to try out a different sound for a change. We wanted it to be raw, both sonically and visually. While we know there may be some folks out there, for whom it’s not a wise idea to divert away from a style that has been working fairly well for us, we also feel it is extremely important to keep experimenting and exploring.”

Smile Empty Soul Release Lyric Video for Single "We All Fall Down" via TLG|ZOID ​

Alt-rock veterans Smile Empty Soul have unveiled their lyric video for single, "We All Fall Down". The track is a preview of their upcoming EP, Swan Song, which is scheduled for release at the end of the year through TLG|ZOID distributed by Virgin Music Group.

"We all live unique lives, but what we have in common is that life kicks the shit out of us all in various ways. Learning how to overcome that is key to survival and the ability to thrive," says Sean Danielsen.

The song was written and produced by Sean Danielsen, engineered by Brian Scheffer, mixed and mastered by Eddie Wohl.

SMILE EMPTY SOUL is a hard rock band that originated in Los Angeles, CA in the late 1990’s and has stayed true to their brand of “no bullshit”, “real as it gets” hard rock to this day. The band signed a major label record deal in 2003 to release their self-titled debut album in May of that year. They realized huge success at alternative radio, rock radio, and the music video channels that have since fallen by the wayside or turned into reality show networks.

After 3 very successful singles/videos and a gold record from the debut release, the band ran into trouble with their record company (which was in the midst of turmoil at the top levels) and found themselves working extra hard in the trenches, and signed to indie labels or no label at all from then on.

This would become SMILE EMPTY SOUL’s destiny, as they have gone on to release many more albums and EP’s on various labels, as well as their own company “smile empty music inc”. The band released their 9th full length record Black Pilled on October 12th of 2021 completely on their own.

“Smile” has become known for its constant touring and never wavering honest sound/lyrics. They’ve never changed for anybody, and turned down many opportunities to “sell out” because it’s not who they are.

With a new album, and just as much drive as they had starting out 20 years ago, this band looks to continue to build on the legacy they’ve created as one of the hardest working, and most underrated bands in rock and roll.

The band has recently partnered with TLG|ZOID distributed by Virgin Music Groupto release new music. Denny Sanders (The Label Group) and Sean Danielsenpreviously partnered on the successful release of Consciousness.
