Following the success of his first two singles "Mother Mary" featuring Slash and Erik Grönwall, and "Rock Bottom" featuring Kai Hansen, legendary guitarist Michael Schenker is set to release the third single "Only You Can Rock Me" from his highly anticipated new album My Years with UFO.

This new single once again showcases an incredible lineup featuring Joey Tempest (Europe) on vocals, Roger Glover (Deep Purple) on bass, Derek Sherinian on keys, and Brian Tichy on drums. Schenker's new album My Years with UFO is a tribute to the golden years that saw British hard rock band UFO rise from an underground phenomenon to rock legends.

Produced by Michael Schenker and Michael Voss, the new album marks the 50th anniversary of Schenker's era with UFO, spanning from 1972 to 1978. The "German Wunderkind" was asked to join UFO at just 17 years old. In the following years, Michael Schenker secured his place as one of rock’s most influential creators by composing UFO’s most beloved tracks, including "Doctor Doctor," "Rock Bottom," "Lights Out," "Love to Love" and many more.

Although Michael Schenker's era with UFO spanned only six years, his influence as a young songwriter and exceptional guitarist had already left a lasting mark on rock. During these meteoric years, the UFO albums Phenomenon, Force It, No Heavy Petting, Lights Out, Obsession, and the seminal live album Strangers in the Night were recorded, each contributing significantly to the genre. Strangers in the Night particularly stands out as one of the most influential live rock albums of all time and is still regarded as a cornerstone in any rock enthusiast's collection.

In this celebratory album, Michael Schenker presents 11 of UFO's greatest hits from this magical era with an impressive lineup of guest stars. Joining Schenker on this journey are Derek Sherinian on keys; Brian Tichy on drums; and Barry Sparks on bass. 

The stellar roster of guest artists includes Axl Rose, Slash, Kai Hansen, Roger Glover, Joey Tempest, Biff Byford, Jeff Scott Soto, John Norum, Dee Snider, Joel Hoekstra, Joe Lynn Turner, Carmine Appice, Adrian Vandenberg, Michael Voss, Stephen Pearcy, and Erik Grönwall.

Joe Henry Unveils Remastered Edition Of 2007 Album "Civilians"

Gifted songwriter and vocalist Joe Henry is known for his intimate and richly detailed songs shaped by an eclectic musical world view, encompassing the sounds of rock, folk, country, soul and jazz. In 2024, he revisits a special trio of albums that represent his "coming-of-age" as a record maker. All three albums will be issued on vinyl for the very first time as part of the 2024 reissue series.

Starting off the series, today Henry unveils a remastered edition of his acclaimed 2007 studio album Civilians. The 2024 edition features all original album tracks in remastered sound as well as four previously unreleased demos from Joe’s personal archives. Henry describes Civilians as a very intentional record that took him back to a traditional approach of songwriting. Instead of working from loops and samples, he found himself going back to the idea of starting songs on his guitar and putting a big importance on crafting the lyrics. The four additional demos on the 2024 edition of the album add tremendously to this acoustic-driven, visceral intimacy of Civilians and allow the listener to dive even deeper into Henry’s poetic lyricism.

Accompanying the release of the reissue edition is the launch of a restored performance video of "Time Is A Lion" on earMUSIC’s YouTube channel. According to Henry, the song functions as a major key stone for the sound and narrative of Civilians. 

"'Time is A Lion' is one of the earliest songs I had for Civilians. It kind of came out of nowhere, and it was the beginning, kind of the building block." Henry describes the importance of the song, "It was maybe the second or third song we recorded. I think it became a template for the record in a certain way, certainly as a tonality and lyrical stance. It sort of sets the table for everything else."

The reissue edition of Civilians is available in stores as of today as black double-vinyl in a high-quality gatefold jacket, CD Digipak and for digital download and streaming. 

Besides Civilians, the reissue trilogy also includes Henry’s 2009 record Blood From Stars and the 2014 album Invisible Hour. All three reissue-albums will be pressed on 180g double-vinyl and additionally be made available as CD Digipak, for streaming and digital download via earMUSIC.

Joe Henry Presents Reissues Trilogy Of Three Acclaimed Albums

Joe Henry is one of the artists who have shaped the sound of modern American folk and blues music like hardly anyone else. Not only is Henry a GRAMMY Award-winning producer, but also a well-respected and prolific artist in his own right.

In 2024, Joe Henry is set to release three of his most acclaimed studio records for the first time on vinyl via earMUSIC, featuring a special selection of unheard bonus tracks as well as intimate demos and live recordings from his personal archives.

"With this new reissue series, I find there's something unexpectedly compelling to me about revisiting this particular trio of albums as, together, these volumes represent my sort of 'coming-of-age' as a record maker, in that I stopped observing any border between a song's composition and its studio articulation. It all became a single impulse for me...conjured into fruition right there in my basement," Henry reflects on the reissue series.

Civilians, the first of the three, invites the listener on a journey into Henry's poetic lyricism. While writing the album, Henry found himself going back to an old-fashioned approach of songwriting, starting most songs on acoustic guitar and adding significant production only later on during the process. Recorded in Henry's studio in Pasadena, long time collaborators like Loudon Wainwright III, Bill Frisell, Greg Leisz, and Van Dyke Parks have influenced the sound of the album alongside Henry.

Blood From Stars, Henry's 2009 record, sees him exploring the realms of orchestral blues and jazz. During the time, Henry was listening to a lot of country-blues and revisiting poems by writers like e.e. cummings — two forms of art that he says strongly influenced the sound of the record. With his evocative lyrics and soulful vocal delivery, Henry crafts a poignant narrative on what he calls one of his personal favorites amongst his own records.

Rounding out the trilogy is Invisible Hour, one of Henry's more recent works. Recorded in 2013, it features several of his closest musical companions, including Lisa Hannigan and best-selling novelist Colum McCann. Henry describes the songs on the album as "songs pertaining in some ways to the subject of marriage — marriage as a verb, not a noun." The album tells a captivating story about resilience and the redemptive power of love.

Infamous for incendiary live performances and a radical left-wing stance, their status as pioneers of punk and protest rock has inspired many musicians like Ramones, The Clash, Rage Against The Machine, The White Stripes, Slash, and countless others and continues to shape the sound of punk and alternative rock for generations to come.

earMUSIC will release the first new music from MC5 in 50+ years (following 1971's High Time) with the album HEAVY LIFTING due October 18 — one day prior to the band's induction into 2024's Rock & Roll Hall of Fame when they will receive the "Musical Excellence Award."

HEAVY LIFTING features guitar and vocals by founding MC5 member Wayne Kramer, who also co-wrote 12 of the album's 13 songs together with Oakland singer/songwriter Brad Brooks. Prolific for five decades, Kramer was the last remaining active member of MC5. He passed away suddenly in February, followed by the death of drummer Dennis "Machine Gun" Thompson in May. It is Thompson's final studio recording.

The album's debut track "Boys Who Play with Matches" is out digitally today.

In an interview with UNCUT in November 2023, Kramer discussed the album and said: "Live long and stay creative. This is my attitude. And this album continues from where High Time left off. In that, I think it's an artist's responsibility to reflect the times they're going through. And I think that we made an album that is in sync with where we're at today and the challenges that we're facing, and that carries a positive message."

HEAVY LIFTING was recorded with iconic producer Bob Ezrin (Lou Reed, Alice Cooper, KISS) and features an all-star lineup of Kramer's friends and musical colleagues including Slash, Tom Morello, William DuVall (Alice in Chains), Vernon Reid (Living Colour), Don Was, and Tim McIlrath (Rise Against), allowing for a collaborative effort that bridges the gap between generations of musicians inspired by MC5’s fearless approach to music and activism. The breadth of MC5's impact can be heard by all the album’s players, including Vicki Randle (Aretha Franklin), Stevie Salas (Parliament Funkadelic, Rod Stewart), Abe Laboriel Jr. (Paul McCartney), Winston Watson Jr. (Bob Dylan), and Joe Berry (M83). Far more than a trip down memory lane, HEAVY LIFTING is a resounding affirmation that the spirit of punk endures.

"It's very heavy," Ezrin reports on HEAVY LIFTING. "It has a revolutionary message but also a good sense of humor. There's a little bit of heavy metal. There's quite a bit of funk. But it is a heavy record, and it's a guitar record left, right and center. Just a wall of guitars most of the time, and mostly driven by Wayne and his ethos. It's a snapshot of a guitar man at the height of his powers. We all feel a responsibility to make sure that his work is heard, and he is celebrated. We poured our hearts into the project."

For more than 40 years, Loverboy have been "Working For The Weekend" (and on the weekend), delighting audiences around the world since forming in 1979. 

The year 1982 represented a triumphant 12 months for the rock band with extremely successful arena shows in the course of their second studio album, the multi-platinum awarded US Top 10 record Get Lucky (featuring various hit singles such as the aforementioned "Working for the Weekend," "When It's Over," "Lucky Ones," and "Take Me To The Top"), and winning no less than six Canadian JUNO Awards — a record that still stands today.

Today, music pioneers The Damned announce a 10-date, USA tour for May and June 2024, bringing their '80s line-up back together with the return of Rat Scabies for the first time in America in 35 years!

David Vanian, Captain Sensible, Rat Scabies, and Paul Gray will play shows across the USA, the first time this line-up has played together since 1989. The band will open in Toronto and finish up at Portland. Tickets go on general sale on Friday, March 1.

This tour welcomes Rat Scabies back to the stage, who has rejoined the band for tours, festivals, and more in 2024. One of the original founding members, The Damned drummer Scabies puts it simply — ‘"Be careful what you wish for.’"

What Lies Beneath is the second rock studio album by Finnish solo artist Tarja.

Originally released in 2010, the best-seller is a true fan favorite and one of her most successful releases to date. Considered a classic and must-have for both fans and critics, it includes timeless Tarja hits like "Until My Last Breath," "I Feel Immortal," and "Falling Awake."

This year, the album will be re-issued for the first time as 2-CD Special Edition and, for the first time, as Heavyweight 2LP Vinyl (Gatefold, 180g, black).
