WORMWITCH Announces UK Tour in Support of WINTERFYLLETH

Blackened speed metal entity WORMWITCH are pleased to announce that they will be touring the UK this November in support of WINTERFYLLETH along with BIZARREKULT. WORMWITCH will be supporting their eponymous fourth studio album, which was released on July 26, 2024 via Profound Lore Records! The full itinerary can be found below while tickets will be made available on Thursday, September 5, @ 10:00 A.M. UK time.

In addition to them, we have the excellent progressive BM band Bizarrekult from Norway joining the tour as well. They are excited to bring last year’s ‘Den tapte krigen’ album to British shores for the first time and add another unique flavour to the line up.

WORMWITCH sets out to combine a melodic blackened death assault with the ferocity and attitude of crust punk and classic rock and roll, jettisoning the burdens of ceremony and pomp that dominate the genre today.

Like black wings from an obsidian sky, WORMWITCH descended from the darkness in 2015, somewhere upon the rain-soaked woodlands of coastal British Columbia. Animated from the bones of several local punk and metal bands, the new entity set out to combine a melodic blackened death assault with the ferocity and attitude of crust punk and classic rock and roll, jettisoning the burdens of ceremony and pomp that dominate the genre today. 

WORMWITCH released their first demo, 'The Long Defeat' in 2015, and shortly after signed to Prosthetic Records, under whom they released 'Strike Mortal Soil' (2017), 'Heaven that Dwells Within' (2019), and 'Wolf Hex' (2021). During that time the band toured with the likes of The Black Dahlia Murder, Suffocation, Midnight, Necrot, Uada, Bewitcher, and many others, earning themselves a dedicated cult following and international critical praise. In 2022, WORMWITCH struck out to independently release a string of singles and embark upon several tours of North America. After a busy festival season, 2024 saw the release of a six-song split with Atlanta black-thrashers Sadistic Ritual.

Now, with blades meticulously honed and tempered under the light of a feral Canadian moon, WORMWITCH emerges once more to offer their fourth full length record. Simply self-titled, “Wormwitch” is a statement of a band coming into it’s own - a revelrous celebration of devilish speed, searing melody and diabolical intensity.

Embarking on their co-headlining Country Round Here Tonight Tour presented by Live Nation next Friday, Sept. 5, multi-Platinum hitmakers Randy Houser and Justin Moore release a collaborative version of “Country Round Here Tonight,” debuting the track on “Fox & Friends” All-American Summer Concert Series this morning, Aug. 30. COUNTRY MUSIC STAR BROOKE EDEN RELEASES THE NEW THEME SONG FOR SEC NATION

As SEC Network (SECN) celebrates its 10th anniversary and a new era for the Southeastern Conference with the addition of Oklahoma and Texas, SECN has tapped country music star Brooke Eden to revamp the theme song "Party Wherever We Go" and opening sequence for SEC Nation, the network’s weekly, traveling pre-game show. The theme song and opening tease will premiere tomorrow at 10 a.m. ET on Saturday, Aug. 31, when the show travels to Gainesville, FL. to showcase the Florida Gators hosting in-state rival Miami Hurricanes. Australian deathcore juggernauts To The Grave have released their third full-length album, 'Everyone’s A Murderer,' today via Unique Leader Records. The album drops alongside their incendiary new single "Made In Aus," a track that exemplifies the band’s unrelenting power and commitment to exposing harsh truths. "For this record my aim was to speak through the faceless activists that fight for animals, for those living in vystopia feeling alone and helpless in a world that will fight tooth and nail to defend the animal holocaust. Due to it being illegal to rescue farmed animals from abuse these activists must stay silent about it to avoid having their own freedom taken.

It wasn't an easy task, it's never going to do justice to the horrors animals go through every day by the millions in cold, dark sheds around the world or to those that have witnessed it and are doing everything they can to put an end to it. There's no words, no lyrics and no music that can describe the violence or bring back the lives stolen by human hands so this is for them.

Our idea for this album evolved so much before it started but we knew we wanted something that sounded classic, like it was from a different decade entirely. It had to have all the elements that brought us all towards deathcore all those years ago combined with all the modern touches you'd find in the recent TTG material, all whilst trying to do something new and step outside our comfort zone in the process.

It was cool to work with the new lineup on the gritty details like production, tones and getting the energy of the drums down. Once the album was in a listenable state these guys really gave it all personality and brought everything to the table to shape this new sound.

We're very critical of ourselves as artists and have made music in the past that for whatever reason we haven't loved. With that in mind I think the overall goal with this record was to make something that regardless of what anyone else thought, we were proud of and I'm happy that we all had that shared vision in mind.

We probably had the most fun making this record that we've ever had and it felt liberating to be able to make something that we liked. It felt like starting the band from new again and only having the pressure of wanting to write cool shit.

The singles are tough as fuck and I think do a good job of representing the blunt force approach on the album leaving a tonne of surprises in the sharps bin for when people pick it up on release day. That should make sense when it drops."

To The Grave’s release of 'Everyone’s A Murderer' is just the beginning. The band is set to dominate stages worldwide, starting tonight with a very special album release show at Stay Gold in Melbourne with support from No Life (NZ) & Identity Error and Saturday, followed by a second album release show tomorrow at The Lansdowne with support from No Life (NZ) & Facecutter in Sydney. Life Of Agony Premiere "The Crow (In Memory of B.L.)"

Back in 1995, the band covered Simple Minds' "Don't You (Forget About Me)" on the group's Ugly album; the song was made famous by the movie The Breakfast Club. In 1997, on their album Soul Searching Sun, a music video for the song "Desire" incorporated visuals reminiscent of Stanley Kubrick's The Shining. That tradition continues with a brand-new original track titled "The Crow (In Memory of B.L.)," which pays tribute to the fallen star Brandon Lee, who tragically lost his life during the filming of the cult-classic, released 30 years ago.

Life of Agony's "The Crow (In Memory of B.L.)" was recorded in New York City at the legendary Sear Sound studio, best known for hit albums by David Bowie and John Lennon, as well as at The Nest Studio, in Long Island, NY. The song was recorded, produced, and mixed by LOA’s guitarist Joey Zampella (who also co-produced the group's last album The Sound of Scars). The song was mastered by Grammy-award winner Howie Weinberg (Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, Red Hot Chili Peppers).

With 2024 marking the 30th anniversary of Brandon Lee's Crow film, and all of the controversy surrounding the new Bill Skarsgård remake, Life of Agony felt inspired to go back and give respect to the '94 film that made such a huge impact on them during their early years.

"There's something very special about the original Crow that made it timeless, and there's a reason that it resonated with us as kids," explained LOA bassist Alan Robert. "It was an absolute tragedy… Brandon Lee was killed the year we did our first album River Runs Red, and by the time The Crow came out in '94, he was already a legend. Brandon completely embodied the role, made it iconic, and lost his life in the process. It was just so incredibly sad and affected us deeply. He was such a charismatic character and in the very beginning stages of his career. Director Alex Proyas captured lightning in a bottle."

Finally, our patience will be rewarded when Finnish WINTERSUN’s Time II album is revealed to the world on August, 30th by Nuclear Blast. ‘It has been quite a journey’ admits mastermind Jari Mäenpää who has been working on his expansive Time project since early 2004.

Time II includes six epic tracks with individual stories. Yet the subjects are all linked and this red line gives it a conceptual feeling. Entering WINTERSUN’s universe, we are brought into the right mood with the eastern-influenced, atmospheric intro ‘Fields Of Snow’. The first real WINTERSUN track is the metallic brilliance of ‘The Way Of The Fire’, with fire representing the energy of stars as a source of life, which is also connected to time. In ‘One With The Shadows’ we experience the magic of an opulence of vocal harmonies, while orchestral arrangements loom up as ornamental move. Jari has a remarkable vision on the lyrics, ‘Now I think it is about regret. You are living in the shadows as long as you don’t turn regret into something positive to continue your life. In ‘Ominous Clouds’, clouds are gathering as the interlude journeys towards the next exploring adventure ‘Storm’.

This is the heaviest and darkest track on the album,’ explains Jari. ‘It even has influences from classical music, more precisely from Vivaldi’s ‘Four Seasons’, furious guitars and heavy drums prevail, while the tone remains chaotic.’ The last track, ‘Silver Leaves’, with an array of harmonious sounds, is partly performed with traditional Chinese instruments like the ‘erhu’ (similar to the violin or fiddle). Ending on a positive note the song tells the story of finding a calm place and state of mind after the storm, being satisfied with your life, and enjoying nature around you, as reflected by the cherry tree garden on the cover. The artwork was created by Cameron Gray, while the booklet was designed by Hungarian artist Gyula Havancsák (lyrics, credits & thanks pages) and Onni Wiljami Kinnunen (band photos pages).

Post Profit Release Deluxe Version of "Self Defeater" EP + Share "Two Toxic" Live Studio Video

Last year, Texas quartet POST PROFIT — Matt Jackson [vocals, guitar], Nick Hawner [guitar +vocals], Zach Hicks [drums + vocals], and Charles Horin [bass + vocals] — released their six-song EP, Self Defeater, giving us all a delicious slice of the band's bright future ahead.

Today, the foursome proudly releases the deluxe edition of Self Defeater, which features live studio versions of all the original songs on the EP. All live tracks were recorded with noted producer Machine (Lamb of God, Clutch, Crobot).

Post Profit also dropped the live studio video for "Two Toxic," which was shot by Seamless Loop Productions at The Machine Shop in Austin, Texas. 

"We are so excited to release a deluxe of the EP so people could hear these songs in a different light," the band says. "We always tend to add various elements to our songs when we play them live. The feel of the songs translate a lot differently."

Post Profit continue, "The studio versions were recorded with Machine, so he understood the ins and outs of every song and was the perfect candidate to capture the nuances of a more raw recording. With transitions and arrangements that have been made over time, it brings a genuine feeling of excitement, like we're playing the songs for the first time again."

It was shot at the historic Lynnewood Hall, a 110-room Gilded Age mansion in the Philadelphia suburb of Elkins Park, Pennsylvania, which originally opened all the way back in 1899. ABOUT POST PROFIT:
Some would say Post Profit have been waiting for this moment since the cradle, with each member being introduced to musical instruments between the ages of 2 to 6. 

Zach and Matt forged a friendship as toddlers ever since their moms became best friends from church in Longview, TX. Nick would later learn of Matt's vocal prowess through the high school intercom. "Matt's father was the high school principal," explains Nick. "And he'd have Matt on there in the mornings singing about refraining from drugs and alcohol and striving for good school attendance." 

Over the next few years, the trio would really get to know each other from attending and performing at local shows. Nick and Zach especially hit it off and quickly became inseparable, spending much of their time listening to music, eager to put their own band together. Meanwhile, Matt was sinking his teeth into a Dallas based metalcore band called Far From Earth.
 
During early 2017, Matt started hosting open jams every Sunday at a smoky East Texas dive bar and one night asked Zach to join on drums. Zach dragged his new friend Nick along on guitar and the trio quickly formed a strong musical bond. They would soon start slipping originals into their covers sets and after months of unrelenting practices and bar jams they booked their first show at a Halloween party in Tyler, TX.
 
With the experience of countless gigs across the South, Post Profit soon gained a reputation for their commanding and impactful live performance, including powerful 2021 and 2022 performances at Welcome To Rockville in Daytona, FL. Rallying around influences such as Deftones, Incubus, Failure, and Quicksand, the band refined their original songs and sound into what would become their 2022 debut self-produced album When You Think It's Right It's Always Wrong. The release garnered over a million cumulative streams independently, and the success of their single "Smother" grabbed the attention of SharpTone Records, eventually landing them a deal.

When it was time to hit the road in support of their 2024 Self Defeater EP, the guys turned to Los Angeles native Charles Horin to round out the lineup on bass. "Charles was previously in a band called Analog Party," explains Nick. "And they had very heavy influences from Failure, one of our favorite bands, so we knew right away he would be a great fit musically."

JC Miller's music takes form through the music alchemy enjoyed with celebrated musician-producer Marty Rifkin, who is known for his work with Tom Petty, Glen Campbell and Jewel, in addition to playing pedal steel guitar in Bruce Springsteen's The Sessions Band.

"Tombstone Junction is a kind of stand-in metaphor for the tremendous sense of loss we feel when we are disconnected from the past. When that continuity breaks, as it is pretty much nowadays, we lose our way. The future’s not here yet, what’s there to say about that? The past has so many answers to recurring questions and there are so many different threads to trace down and revisit. We can learn so much from that which came before. That repeating sense of yearning for something that no longer exists is something I feel mostly all the time - memories from childhood, favorite places, road trips," says JC Miller.

"I love smaller intimate moments and places, more than the famous or grandiose ones. Tombstone Junction was a theme park that burned down twice and was mismanaged, but it was also a place where Dolly Parton, Randy Travis, Conway Twitty, Loretta Lynn, and a ton of others played live concerts. That venue is gone but echoes of the music and the ghostly memories of the concert goers remain. Those performances were shared experiences with these masters of a craft I admire, study, and look to".

Back with his unique blend of southern rock, second-line funk, woodsy blues and outlaw country balladry, this latest offering follows a hearty string of singles that include 'Dead Horse Ranch', 'Sundown Slim','Wayward Son' and 'Before Nightfall'. 

Now based in Los Angeles, this prolific Detroit-born guitarist and songwriter weaves stories through the prism of sonic archaeology, unearthing the spirit of Americana and giving it voice through resonant melodies and via geographic landmarks discovered on his own personal journeys. Oceano Release New Album 'Living Chaos' via Sumerian Records + Drop "Into The Flames" Lyric Video

Deathcore titans Oceano have released their hotly-anticipated new album 'Living Chaos' and a new lyric video for "Into The Flames" (via Sumerian Records). Frontman Adam Warren wrote all of the lyrics and recorded the entire writing process of the album vocally on his Twitch channel. Leading up to today, the band has shared "Mass Produced", "Wounds Never Healed", and most recently, "The Price Of Pain", which altogether have amassed a staggering 2.4 million streams on Spotify aloneand nearly 1 million views on YouTube. GIRLSCHOOL Announces West Coast Tour, Second Leg of Final North American Tour

The longest tenured all-female rock band and NWOBHM legends GIRLSCHOOL will be embarking on the last leg of their final North American tour this autumn! The trek will conquer the West Coast and Southwest from October 16 until drawing the final curtain on November 5. More dates are TBA!

The trek will see rotating direct support from LILLIAN AXE and ALCATRAZZ.The itinerary can be found below while tickets are now on sale and can be found HERE.

Girlschool originated in the UK during the New Wave of British Heavy Metal Scene in 1978 and is frequently associated with contemporaries and friends Motörhead. They are the longest running all-female rock band, still active and rocking hard after more than 40 years.

Girlschool enjoyed strong media exposure and commercial success in the U.K. in the early 1980s with three albums of 'punk-tinged metal' and a few singles.

In the 1990s and 2000s, they concentrated their efforts on live shows and tours, reducing considerably the production of studio albums. During their long career Girlschool toured all over the world, performing at many of the biggest rock and metal festivals as well as co-headlining with or supporting some of the most important hard rock and heavy metal bands in the genre.

They maintain a worldwide cult following and are considered an inspiration for many succeeding female rock musicians, such as The Donnas.

Original members Kim McAuliffe, Denise (Drench) Dufort are still in the band to this day, original member lead guitarist /vocalist/songwriter Kelly Johnson died of cancer in 2007 and was replaced by lead guitarist/songwriter Jackie (Jax) Chambers in 1999.

On July 28, 2023 at FORTY-FIVE years young, the British hard rock royalty came out swinging with their 14th studio album 'WTFortyfive?,' an outstanding and deliciously dirty declaration that age is a number that shows how much real raw attitude you have when it really counts. Kim, Denise, Jackie and Tracey leave the grit under their finger nails and the scuzz on their crusty leather boots as they riff and stomp their way through 12 statements of intent showing major attitude, some great melodies, and a consistent crunch to every guitar.

Royal & The Serpent Release Cover Of Lead Belly's "Where Did You Sleep Last Night"

LA-based alternative singer/songwriter Royal & The Serpent has joined the growing list of heavy hitters contributing to the official soundtrack for Sumerian Comics' 'American Psycho' comic book series. Today's release sees her lend her unique spin to Lead Belly's "Where Did You Sleep Last Night?", produced by Keith “Ten4” Sorrels of The Orphanage & Alex Nice. Speaking on her contribution to the American Psycho Comic Book Series Soundtrack, Royal & The Serpent shares:

"I'll never forget the first time I watched the iconic Nirvana MTV unplugged performance. My heart nearly stopped when I heard Kurt's rendition of "Where Did You Sleep Last Night". I've been dreaming of covering this song for the entire length of my career - and this opportunity seemed like the perfect fit. I was able to get into the studio with a long time collaborator of mine - Keith Sorrells - and lose myself in the music. I recorded the entire song in one take, lying on the floor in a pitch black vocal booth, channeling all of the depth the song holds. Thank you again to Sumerian Records for having me - what a pleasure this was to create."

The 'American Psycho' comic book series by Sumerian Comics is a bold reimagining of Patrick Bateman’s notorious saga. The five-issue series delves into a dual storyline format; one tracing the chilling exploits of Bateman, and the other introducing a contemporary narrative featuring Charlene Carruthers—a social media-savvy millennial whose descent into violence mirrors the chilling escalation of her predecessor. This innovative take reinterprets the iconic tale with a story written by Michael Calero (Quested), vivid artwork by Piotr Kowalski (The Witcher, Bloodborne, Sex) and striking colors by Brad Simpson (Kong of Skull Island, Stray Dogs, Blade Runner Origins).

John Van Deusen Announces New Album "Anthem Sprinter" + Shares "Comeback Wrecker"

Today, Van Deusen shares the new single "Comeback Wrecker."

"'Comeback Wrecker' is officially the oldest song I have ever recorded and released," Van Deusen says. "I wrote the chorus when I was 14. The song is about desire, shame, and cathartic anger. Musically, I wanted it to sound like a mixture of Sonic Youth, Sunny Day Real Estate, and Face to Face. It's just a lot of fun to play."

Anthem Sprinter explores shame, isolation, and angst with Van Deusen's typical earnestness and fervor. It serves as his sixth solo LP and his second for Tooth & Nail Records, Anthem Sprinter is a "time capsule" record of once-abandoned songs, and it serves as a sort of prequel to Van Deusen's four-part conceptual album series, (I Am) Origami.

Ask any hard rock enthusiast about Anciients and their shock and awe might lead you to believe they were describing Big Foot. The band left a sizable imprint on the metal scene after just two albums, but then seemingly disappeared without a trace. So what led them to go into hibernation?

“Basically, right after Voice of the Void was recorded my wife had our first kid”, says Kenny Cook, who on top of vocal and guitar duties handles the bulk of the songwriting. “She ended up having heart complications and almost died”. Everyone is happy and healthy now, but caring for his wife and new baby put a lot of stress on the typically laid-back front man’s mountainous shoulders. “It was a bit of a road”.

Beyond the Reach of the Sun also emerges from the shadows. The album follows the story of a society that's enslaved by evil forces from an alternate dimension. "A distant memory of hope", Cook sings on its epic, eight-minute opener. His cleans gently sail amidst cosmic synth smears, only to dig deep into the pit of his death growl as "Forbidden Sanctuary" meets a fiery end of blast beats and face-melting chugs. "Die by the sword / Or be reborn".

It’s amazing that anyone could steal focus away from Tim Curry, but Meat pulled it off for me. His scene comes to my mind first when I think of The Rocky Horror Picture Show.Another affiliation is Sebastian Bach. Our friendship goes back about 30 years in which I toured and recorded with him for several years after his departure from Skid Row. Sebastian handled the role of RIFF RAFF in the 2001 Broadway production. He was great, very entertaining and his voice worked well for the character. My third affiliation now, is this new EP”
