Northlane to Return to North America For Summer Headline Tour
Northlane are gearing up to hit the road again! The band has announced its Summer 2024 North American headline tour, featuring Invent Animate, Thornhill, and Windwaker.

Additionally, Northlane will drop their forthcoming EP, Mirror's Edge, on April 12. Mirror's Edge was recorded with their old friend and revered producer Will Putney. Described by Jon Deiley (songwriter/guitarist) as "the greatest hits of Northlane sounds," the EP is a nostalgic journey through all the colors on their sonic palette, with bonus shades from special guests Winston McCall (Parkway Drive) and Ian Kenny (Karnivool/Birds of Tokyo) β two of the most influential artists in Northlane's history. Their former bass player, Brendon Padjasek, also stopped by the studio to lend his scream to one of the tracks. Penned just over a year after the release of their award-winning album, Obsidian, the road to Mirror's Edge was a bumpy one. Instead of riding high from the success of the album, the simmering tension and communication breakdown between band members threatened to engulf Northlane at any moment. Northlane tackled their issues head-on at a writing retreat in Victoria's Yarra Valley, where they worked through their problems and unlocked new channels of creativity in the process that reflects through the EP. From the expansive prog of "Afterimage" to their signature bottom-heavy groove and viscous breakdown of "Kraft" and compulsive beat and electronic focus of "Dante," Mirror's Edge is full of Northlane's most vivid colours and textures. Thematically, the EP is about looking at yourself and reflecting on the past one final time before leaving it all behind to find hope in what lies beyond the mirror's edge. With the recurring theme of acceptance binding these songs together, frontman Marcus Bridge is hopeful that Mirror's Edge will be the coda on this part of his personal life, so much of which he has shared in the last couple of Northlane releases.

After blistering tours of the U.S., Japan, and Europe in support of their βBest Ofβ album in 2023, The Dead Daisies have spent the early part of 2024 in both Nashville & Muscle Shoals busy in the studio with Producer Marti Frederiksen writing and recording songs for their new studio album to be released later this year.
The band have announced an exclusive short run of U.S. Tour dates kicking off in New York City on June 6th at Racket NYC. The tour will hit some of the bandβs favorite cities and venues across the country.

Sylvaine has grown into a guiding light for ambient post-metal, but her second EP traces back to her earliest roots.
Kathrine Shepard grew up in Norway, amidst the contrasts between nature and urbanity, on the outskirts of downtown Oslo. While studying music, dance and drama in high school, she performed several times at the Kampen Church. This 19th century relic is where Kathrine recorded most of Eg Er Framand, which includes interpretations of traditional Norwegian folk songs, along with three of her own original songs to the cannon.
When Sylvaine first heard the title track, it hit her like no other song had before. Since then, she's shared "Eg Er Framand" with rapturous audiences everywhere, but this EP is the first time she's captured its magic on record. Each note is held with soft restraint, as if cupped into the palm of her hand, like an offering. Close your eyes and envision her reaching through the trees, into the shadows, as her feet slowly lift off the ground.
To this day, βDagsens Augo Sloknarβ still has mysterious origins, but the lyrics were written in 1891 by Elias Blix, a professor-turned-politician who also wrote hymns. Staying true to the originalβs delicate, reverent melody, Sylvaine sings in a breathy, elongated whisper thatβs haunting and soothing, like a shadow. But while it opens with just a steady hum of organ, her rendition ends by pulling you into a trance.
Eg Er Framand intimately explores the transient nature of humanity against a steady, familiar backdrop of Scandinavian landscapes. Ascend with Sylvaine into a land before time that feels both ancient and renewed.
Since Eg Er Framand was announced, Kathrine has been revealing its overarching narrative piece by piece. With the album's arrival on YouTube, she's now giving us its final chapter so that we can read the whole story from start to finish.

"'The Wolf' is a song and a concept that I felt a lot of us can identify with," Wallen says. "We've all known those people that for whatever reason we just can't break ourselves away from them. An addiction on every level, all the while knowing it's a toxic situation. You break all those promises to yourself that you'll stay away, but ultimately there you are again."
Commenting on the video, he shares, "The video for 'The Wolf' was shot in a beautiful house in south Nashville. Directed by Courtney Dellafiora, we wanted an intimate look and setting that was reminiscent of waking from a dream in the middle of the night, and then grabbing the guitar and playing the song. The most exciting thing of all with getting to work with 'Bane,' the real live wolf actor and his amazing training staff for the shoot! That was a first for me, and I couldn't be happier how the video turned out."

ABOUT KEITH WALLEN:
Keith Wallen is a prolific songwriter responsible for soaring melodies and hypnotic hooks heard across modern rock radio. The West Virginia-born troubadour uses his solo work as a vehicle to explore his multifaceted passions, moving seamlessly from the smart pop of '80s favorites like The Police and Depeche Mode to the big moody riffs of '90s grunge heroes like Alice In Chains, Soundgarden, and Stone Temple Pilots.
His co-writing collaborations include compositions with Saint Asonia, Fuel, We Came As Romans, Red, Dorothy, and Korn guitarist Brian "Head" Welch's Love And Death. Wallen bares his soul as a solo artist with earnest resolve, powering his honest anthems with commanding vocals.
A former member of Adelitas Way, Keith was among his first calls when Benjamin Burnley decided to reform and reconfigure his band. Dark Before Dawn, Breaking Benjamin's powerhouse comeback, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. Ember followed in 2018.

The song mixes a keyboard loop with guitar stomp β making it an instant addition to ALL of your Spotify playlists. Conceptually, it addresses a very relatable and topical issue β don't get caught up in death scrolling because life does not begin at the end of your wrist, phone in hand, focused on your feed. It truly begins when your phone is tucked in your back pocket.
"'Greed' is one of the seven deadly sins," says vocalist and mastermind Waylon Reavis. "I'm not talking to any victim. It's more of a warning. Social media is all-encompassing. People get greedy and flex for attention. Other than the band, I try to stay off social media as much as I can. Everyone flaunts what they have, and followers or 'friends' base their lives on this rat race. Don't let it get a hold of you. You can't take any of these material things with you. Personally, I won't let it be the death of me."
Overall, A Killer's Confession explore the captivating repugnance of true crime, set to a soundtrack of melodic hard rock dosed with elements of metal and industrial, on their forthcoming album, the details of which will be announced in due course.
After three seminal albums with Mushroomhead, Reavis retreated from music, only for it to draw him back in 2016. He resurfaced at the helm of A Killer's Confession, delivering three cult favorite albums β Unbroken [2017], The Indifference of Good Men [2019], and Remember [2021]. Along the way, the band tallied tens of millions of streams in addition to collaborating with everyone from Brian "Head" Welch of Korn and Love And Death to Chad Gray of Mudvayne and HELLYEAH. Joined by bassist JP Cross, guitarist James Skritch, and the duo drums of Will Spodnik and Kegan King, they also captivated crowds on tour.
During 2022, Waylon experienced an epiphany. "I had never thought about following a concept like this before," he said. "However, I decided to focus, live up to the name, and be A Killer's Confession."

NONEXISTER Release Debut Album + Share Video For "Storm"
NONEXISTER have released their debut album Demons on, March 15
To mark the occasion, the Zurich based quintet has unveiled the video for their new single, "Storm," a song which encompasses everything that defines NONEXISTER's music: It's dark, intense, and a little dystopian, featuring an infectious guitar riff and plenty of electronic noise.
Sound engineer and co-band leader Marco Neeser says, "In production, I first created a noisy industrial atmosphere to set the mood for the song, and then I let this emblematic riff hit, which drives the song."
"Storm" highlights the rising global threat of right-wing extremism.
Singer Nik Leuthold states, "What's happening right now sometimes feels like a global re-run of 1930s Europe. It's frightening. However, in my lyrics, I'm always interested in the bigger picture β in this case extremism and sectarianism in general. It's too easy to simply blame it on frustration; convenient lies, victimhood, and self-righteousness are attractive to many people. But I'm sure most of them would be scared to death if it actually came to the point they are currently shouting about."
Since their first single, "Your Pain Up My Veins," the band has consistently released captivating, cinematic videos, winning numerous awards including the California Music Video & Film Award, the Global Music Award and the Europe Music Award, among others. Leuthold says of the video, "I really wanted to make this video with Dave Bullivant after seeing how nuanced and multi-layered he can be with a given theme on 'How Do You Dare.' When it comes to right-wing extremism, it can very quickly become trite or clichΓ©, but once again he has managed to convey the song's subject matter in a very subtle way. Yet he has illustrated the underlying threat so powerfully with his stark black and white images, which sometimes remind me of the movie Sin City. I think Dave has once again created an extraordinary work of art."
Director Dave Bullivant says, "This track speaks so eloquently on the dangers of rising extremism in its various guises and how easily people can be drawn into a situation that they may later regret. The lure of community, power and acceptance can so often override one's sense of morality. I wanted to abstract this idea and portray the inner conflict of two friends encountering a roaring mob. We shot using a pretty unique camera, there are only two of this model that have been modified to only shoot black and white. We then took this unique camera and did something no one has ever done before, and shot the final scene using only UltraViolet light. The resulting image is truly unique and quite beautiful."
After six singles, the band is proud to present their work in its entirety. Demons is a collection of the first creative phase as NONEXISTER, the essence of all that inspired them from the beginning. The band is beyond excited that this twisted, gnarly beauty is finally going out into the world.
Leuthold says, "I'm over the moon that our debut album Demons is finally out. It's been a long journey and I'm very proud of the result. My Dying Bride hired The Ghost of Orion studio wizard Mark Mynett to produce, mix, and master A Mortal Binding. The group holed up at Mynettβs Mynetaur Productions(Paradise Lost, Rotting Christ) in Manchester, UK, where they tracked the album consecutively from July to September 2023.
For over three decades, My Dying Bride from West Yorkshire have been the voice of the hopeless and broken, combining haunting sounds with crushing misery and melancholy. With their signature sound they've shaped the doom metal scene like barely any other act and integrated both soft violin melodies and violent death metal growls into their music, whilst always staying strictly loyal to themselves. Today, the band releases their third single entitled 'At Any Cost' off the band's upcoming album, Non Compos Mentis. For this record, the band wanted to present the highest quality sound by enlisting newfound friend and collaborator Mark Lewis. Recording of the album was tracked in the band's home studio and at Lewis' Nashville studio where he completed the remaining mixing and mastering.
DEVOLVER states, "The bulk of 'At Any Cost' has existed for almost 10 years but was buried in a hard drive until recently. When we decided which songs would be selected for this record, we showed our producer Mark Lewis this one and he was adamant that it had to be included. With a little work, it became a clear choice for a single. We've already been playing it live for a while so we've had a chance to see people's reactions, and we're very excited to spread it to the masses. Anybody who saw us last year might recognize it."
Vocalist Chris Brown adds about the lyrical content, "'At Any Cost' explores greed and the mortal costs of war. It's a reminder that people with power often send those without it to fight for land, wealth, or more power, with little regard for human life. This song asks the question: 'What is your life worth to the ones aiming the cannon?'."

Auburn, Alabama's Make Sure, the project of songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Joshua Aubrey Jackson, recently announced the forthcoming release of the sophomore album June on April 12. Pre-order it here.

"'Burning Heap' is a song that was written with a lot of fire behind it. It's admitting, 'I'm still not okay, I have a lot to work on, and the kindest thing you can do right now is leave me alone."
Make Sure just confirmed an appearance at AudioFeed Festival this summer. The event takes place at Champaign County Fairgrounds in Urbana, Illinois from July 4-7.
On his second record for Tooth & Nail Records, singer/songwriter Joshua Jackson provides another helping of spiritual and conversational indie rock in his latest offering June. Following his label debut, 2021's Ninjutsu, Jackson returns with a more expansive sonic palette without sacrificing the emotional vulnerability and intimacy that has defined his work for more than a decade. Balancing an evening-drive-with-the-windows-down soundscape with yearning lyrics, these songs work from the understanding of hurt, but in spite of it, they speak "I can still get up and try." From end to end, June is filled with deeply empathetic songwriting and marks Jackson as an artist of great heart and talent.

Australia's WINDWAKER β vocalist Liam Guinane, guitarist Jesse Crofts, bassist Indey Salvestro, drummer Chris Lalic, and synths/samples specialist Connor Robins β have dropped the new, four-song EP Enter the Wall today, February 15, via Fearless Records. Get it here.

"The Wall" is a fusion of technical guitars with sporadic synths that makes this song so unsettling yet satisfying. The song is built around a southern hip-hop groove led with a mixture of gravely raps and manic screams, evolving around a backdrop of unrelenting metal passages. The track is as fun as it is fierce.
Lyrically, the song is a "reference to staring absently into a void," the band states. Windwaker continue. "It's the moment when reality crumbles away around you, leaving you with nothing but your own thoughts. Visually, it paints the picture of a person sitting in a dimly lit room at night as a black hole mercilessly sucks away the environment around them piece by piece. The main hook repeats twice in the same way a thought circulates in your mind. It always leads back to the same conclusion, setting off that thought again, and again, and again..."
Windwaker released their Fearless Records debut Love Language in 2022.
