HOLY WARS Release New Single & Video “BODY//TEMPLE”

Genre-blurring provocateurs HOLY WARS have dropped their newest single and music video “BODY//TEMPLE” today via Pale Chord Records. With their hard hitting riffs and soaring pop infused rock melodies, vocalist, Kat Leon, and guitarist/producer, Nick Perez take HOLY WARS to a brand new level as they continue to showcase their epic evolution with their latest thought-provoking track. Stream “BODY//TEMPLE" HERE and watch the video below.

Speaking on the video release, the band shares:

“BODY // TEMPLE embarks on a profound journey of self-discovery, navigating through ego dissolution and the depths of the Shadow Self. Its lyrics serve as a poignant cautionary tale on the path to enlightenment, shedding light on how our egos and self-projections can become insidious adversaries. This composition urges us to scrutinize every facet of our lives—be it religion, society, or our very essence—for authentic revelation and personal liberation.

Sonically, Body // Temple emerges as a formidable, weighty composition, effortlessly evolving into an anthem for those in search of answers. Nick Perez's masterful guitar work and polished production seamlessly meld with Kat Leon's thought-provoking lyrics and haunting vocals, which traverse from introspective whispers to resounding cries. The track pulsates with visceral energy, beckoning to be played on repeat.

The music video for Body // Temple mirrors this primal intensity through its visuals, escorting viewers on a transformative journey alongside Kat as she confronts her shadow self. This duality is perceived, both from the vantage point of the audience and the stage, encapsulating a gut-deep resonance."

Their two recent singles, "BODY//TEMPLE" and "Deus Ex Machina" mark the first of many HOLY WARS releases via their brand new label home, Pale Chord, where they join an impressive roster of fellow groundbreaking artists such as Spiritbox, Harper and Thousand Below.

Their previous single, “Deus Ex Machina” blends thoughtful introspection with their trademark chaotic energy, all while highlighting HOLY WARS’ unrelenting creative spirit, and is arguably their heaviest release to date. Their recent releases and new label announcement only further the band’s incessantly gaining momentum garnered from their authentic, DIY approach, which has already yielded nearly 10 million global streams and 700,000 YouTube views across their total catalogue.

With their unpredictable sound, provocative artistry, and new label home, HOLY WARS continue to defy genres and blow minds. Embrace the weird and stay tuned for more from these sonic shapeshifters soon.

When they're not dusting kids at Nintendo or throwing on the odd Saturday morning cartoon, this Baltimore band is out honing their signature combo of brutal, technical death metal. Or, as they call it, tech slam.

Lead single "
System Erase" zips the whole tech-slam experience into one tightly clenched polygon fist as drummer Matt Tillett and bassist Basil Chiasson rip through two or three different time shifts before the breakdown comes and swallows you up with the slow, crushing force of a black hole.  Brothers Sanil and Sanjay Kumar shoot off pixelated pangs of dissonance on "Elysiism". Meanwhile, Julian Kersey's death growl is so fierce and rotten on "Spine Shatter High-Velocity Impact" , you can practically smell the stench wafting through your speakers.

When you invent your own genre, you can make the rules, and in space, no one can correct your math. If Wormhole’s excellent The Weakest Among Us was 50% tech death and 50% slamming brutal death metal, their Season of Mist debut is a veritable leveling up of the Baltimore-based act’s trademark “tech slam.” It’s the kind of record that can scramble your brain and give your neck a nice chiropractic workout; Almost Human feels like the future of extreme metal, dropped down from either outer space or delivered by Nintendo cartridge (more on that later).

So, what the hell exactly is “tech slam?” Well, the gleefully amorphous and unholy term comes from an ethos that guitarists Sanil “Noni” Kumar and Sanjay Kumar discovered and perfected over (probably) thousands of hours of Metroid and Doom games, as well as, you know, actual musical mastery. Almost Human, out September 22, 2023, is more powerful, more agile, and more confounding for pie-chart-enthusiasts than anything else that came before it. The sequel is always bigger, darker, and in this case, covered in much more pixelated space horror viscera. My Wormholio calculator puts their sound at 91% tech and 89% slam, with an increase in awesome stats somewhere in the 420% range. There’s also a clear emphasis on amplifying their dissonant death influence, the kind of eerie melodies that feel like being stomped on by Samus.

There’s a clear balance to everything on Almost Human: the songs are more adventurous while also being instantly memorable. No two songs sound alike, and that diversity in songcraft (level design?) sees Wormhole pushing and pulling along their tech and slam dials to figure out what’s best for the song; spoiler, it’s always riffs. What also becomes evident after repeated listens is how carefully the Kumar brothers understand a sense of place, humor, and a consistent vibe. This is still the same band that’s known for throwing on Saturday morning cartoons, and Almost Human continues to hammer home that Wormhole the musical entity is deadly serious, but the guys that make tech slam are not stoic creatures. There’s a warmth and sense of joy when chatting with them that only gets brighter when you ask their favorite Metroid game (that’s a question for a live show). So, what is this vibe they are chasing? Sanjay shares:

“The tech slam imagery is based on Metroid lore, Doom lore, and we haven't written a song about it yet, but Alien as well. Those three things are brutal sci-fi universes, so we're trying to embody that sound. The slam riffs, you can connect the brutal killing of stuff with the brutal chunky riffs; that's been a match that's existed since the nineties. So that's the slam part, and then the tech part was harder to fit that vibe, so we kind of do it differently. I lean into very dissonance-vibe stuff, like Artificial Brain and Dysrhythmia. I think disso-death and heavy, they aren't usually paired together, even though they should be.”

“And then as far as chasing the vibe,” Noni adds, “I kind of go about it two ways. With the Metroid soundtrack or universe, that vibe, there's some dark and gloomy atmosphere, but there's a lot of pretty imagery as well. We wanted to find a way to match that very pretty, kind of out-there sound cohesively in songs with a very aggressive and guttural approach.”

Like another famous sci-fi horror masterpiece of a different media, Wormhole’s shifting, amorphous style is perfectly suited to blend in and amaze just about any fan of heavy music. That’s The Thing: they can pull off whatever they want, but it’s always boiled down to that tech slam vibe. Do you like tech, melody, breakdowns, atmosphere, or dissonance? Tech slam can fill whatever void you seek.

If previous albums were early generation, lower-resolution visions of tech slam, Almost Human is the 4K reboot, where you can see every pixel of terror and awe. Wormhole are absolutely ready for their closeup. Prepare your worms and your holes, tech slam is here to stay.

MERCURY STUDIOS TO RELEASE “DIO: DREAMERS NEVER DIE” DOCUMENTARY ON DVD AND BLU-RAY+4K

“A good documentary keeps the viewer locked into every moment, and leaves them disappointed when it finally ends. Dio: Dreamers Never Die is not a good documentary. It is a great one.”  So begins the recently-posted review from DailyVault.com of “DIO: Dreamers Never Die,” the first-ever, career-spanning documentary on the life and times of the late legendary metal icon Ronnie James Dio.

The acclaimed film, which world premiered at the 2022 SXSW Film Festival in Austin, Texas, enjoyed a special event theatrical release in more than 600 cinemas worldwide last fall and is streaming on
SHOWTIME, will be released worldwide by Mercury Studios on September 29, 2023 on DVD and Blu-Ray+4K and as a special Deluxe Edition featuring the DVD and Blu-Ray packaged with exclusive merchandise.

All of these configurations of the film include a 20-minute selection of deleted and extended scenes restored from the cutting room floor to create a special fan experience, and all are available for pre-order now at
https://shop.bandwear.com/dio.

Watch the film trailer below.

The limited Deluxe Edition is packaged in a two-piece lift-off lid box containing both the DVD and Blu-Ray versions of the film plus branded DIO merchandise that includes  logoed trading cards, guitar picks, lapel pin, coasters and a fold out poster from the film.

Additionally, fans are able to purchase the film along with bundles of exclusive Dreamers Never Die merchandise, including a Limited Edition Screen Print Movie Poster, Dreamers Never Die T-Shirts, Hoodies, Trucker Hats and Beanies, Etched Beer Stein, Mousepad, Tote Bag, Replica of “Dio Way” Street Sign, and Word Magnet set as well as a Raglan Shirt and Dome Pin celebrating Dio’s first band, Elf.

Of the film, Reel News Daily wrote:  “This film stunned me from the first frames.  I expected to like it, but I never expected to fall madly in love with the film and the man.  This is truly one of the best music docs I’ve seen.  I can’t recommend this film enough.”

“DIO: Dreamers Never Die” delves deep into the singer’s incredible rise from a ‘50s doo-wop crooner to his early rock days in Elf and Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow, to replacing Ozzy Osbourne in Black Sabbath, and finally cementing his rock star status with his own band, DIO. The film incorporates never-before-seen footage and personal photos, as well as offering intimate scenes with his closest peers, family, and friends, among them Wendy Dio, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, Glenn Hughes, Vinny Appice, Lita Ford, Rob Halford, Sebastian Bach, Eddie Trunk, and Jack Black, as they bring viewers inside the life of one of rock and roll’s true heroes and most beloved figures.

Dio’s widow and longtime manager, Wendy Dio, who executive produced the film, commented:  “I wanted this documentary to be authentic, for the fans to see the roller coaster ride that was Ronnie's life—the good times, the bad times and everything in between, especially including events that even the most diehard fans would not have known about.  It’s all in there, right up to the very end.”

In addition to SXSW, the film was showcased at the Hot Docs Festival in Toronto, IFF Boston, DocsLisboa International Film Festival, the Jecheon International Music & Film Festival in Korea, the Athens International Film & Video Festival and Gimme Shelter Film Festival in Athens, Greece.  Last October, it won the Audience Award at the In-Edit International Music Documentary Film Festival in Barcelona, Spain.

Fully authorized by the artist’s estate, “DIO: Dreamers Never Die” was directed by Don Argott and Demian Fenton (Framing John DeLorean, Believer, Last Days Here), produced by Don Argott and Sheena Joyce for 9.14 Pictures, and executive produced by Wendy Dio for Niji Productions and Kathy Rivkin Daum for BMG.

Ronnie James Dio, who died of gastric cancer in 2010, reigns as one of the most influential rock artists of all time and one of the greatest vocalists ever. With an illustrious recording career spanning from the 1950’s through to the 2000’s, the documentary follows his trajectory from sideman into singer, songwriter and frontman of not one, but three, of rock’s internationally-renowned, multi-Platinum-selling arena attractions: Rainbow, Black Sabbath and DIO. Famous for popularizing the ‘devil horns’ hand gesture that is now synonymous with hard rock and heavy metal music, Dio was known for not wavering in his pursuit of his rock and roll dreams and continues to influence a new generation of music artists.  His fans the world over remember him not only for his massive talent, but for his kindness, resulting in millions of dollars raised for cancer research in his memory via the Ronnie James Dio Stand Up and Shout Cancer Fund.

Argott and Fenton said, "People who have conviction, talent and heart like Ronnie James Dio are in short supply these days. It is refreshing to share his inspiring story of believing in yourself and chasing your dreams. As life-long DIO fans, it is incredibly humbling to bring Ronnie’s journey to the screen, and we can’t wait to share it with audiences."

GO AHEAD AND DIE | RELEASE ANIMATED VIDEO FOR SECOND SINGLE 'DESERT CARNAGE'

Arizona death-crusters GO AHEAD AND DIE will deliver their caustic sophomore album Unhealthy Mechanisms on October 20th via Nuclear Blast Records. A torrential whirlwind born from the livid minds of Igor Amadeus Cavalera (HEALING MAGIC) and Max Cavalera (SOULFLY, CAVALERA CONSPIRACY). This new installment to the band's dystopian catalog is a fresh dive into the madness of society and the pollution that ravages our minds.

'Desert Carnage' is the pummeling opener to Unhealthy Mechanisms. Brainchild of Igor Amadeus Cavalera, this track takes listeners on a fiery journey through an apocalyptic desert inspired by their home state of Arizona. Check out the frantic single that encompasses some of Igor's best riffs on the album.

Igor Amadeus Cavalera comments, "'Desert Carnage' is a blistering fast song that is as scorching hot as the Sonoran desert itself. The barbaric theme of the song stems from the cruelness and inhospitable terrain of the desert, as desolate and unkind as a place can be."

Banks Arcade Share "Worship The Internet" Video — WATCH

Melbourne's Banks Arcade are back with a brand new single "Worship The Internet," out now via UNFD.

Following the release of their debut album Future Lovers
last year, a hybrid meeting of metalcore, hip hop, pop and electronic flavors, "Worship The Internet" expands on the group's established trademarks, with the new track flitting between swaggering hooks and hulking grit.

An infectious ode to irrational and volatile anger in the digital age, Banks Arcade's latest chapter is also accompanied today by a brand new music video.

Watch the video for "Worship The Internet"
below

Of "Worship The Internet," Banks Arcade share, "'Worship The Internet' explores the unreasoned outrage perpetuated by social media and modern culture. Everyone is mad at something and the only answer seems to be to come out swinging and think later. This song presents this outrage in a volatile and aggressive fashion and enters the mind of the individual trying to be authentic amidst a myriad of voices urging them to do otherwise."

A band who always wanted to make history, Banks Arcade bring passion and potent execution to their myriad of influences and creative ideas. Formed over a shared love of music with a razor-sharp avant-garde aesthetic, Banks Arcade have always teetered on modernity, their gaze ever-fixed just beyond the horizon via their flourishing sonic wiles. From their 2018 debut EP Endnote to its 2020 follow up Fever Dreams, the group's head-turning singles like "Sick and Drown" have gone on to amass over 1 million individal streams, while their explosive single "Chosen" was chosen by Ubisoft as the official theme song of the Rainbow Six Siege Oceanic Nationals in 2022.

Releasing their full-length Future Lovers in 2022, an LP initially devised as a concept album that evolved into a vessel of personal self-discovery, Banks Arcade cemented their future-facing trademark style while also turning heads courtesy of their emphatic soundscapes, searing metal and hip hop additions.

Showcasing their unforgettable live performance in 2023, Banks Arcade embarked on their national Australian Future Lovers tour earlier this year, including sold out shows in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, as well as an extensive North American run with The Plot In You and Holding Absence, and appearances at UNIFY Off The Record.

Of Mice & Men Share "Indigo" Visualizer — WATCH + LISTEN

NEW ALBUM TETHER OUT OCTOBER 6 VIA SHARPTONE

BAND TOURING WITH BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE THIS FALL

Gold-selling hard rockers Of Mice & Men — Aaron Pauley (bass + vocals ), Valentino Arteaga (drums), Alan Ashby (guitar), and Phil Manansala(guitar) — will issue their new album Tether on October 6 via SharpTone. Pre-order it
here.

They've just shared the third single "
Indigo." Listen to and watch the visualizer below.

"'Indigo' is about questioning why the sky would choose to be blue if it had the choice to be anything else — blue also meaning sad," states Pauley. "It's about comforting a loved one in a time of loss by telling them you feel blue, too."

Taking all creative matters into their own hands, the Southern California quartet self-produced and engineered all of the songs on Tether, their astonishing eighth album. Pauley mixed and mastered the album while Arteaga designed and painted the album's artwork. As a legion of devoted listeners worldwide has come to expect, guitarists Phil Manansala and Alan Ashby, Aaron, and Tino poured their hearts and souls into every note, creating another sonic document of their lives.

“With this one, we weren’t really focused on how it sounded as much as we focused on how it felt," Pauley explains. "And that's a weird thing to do when all you're working with is sound. But that was really the goal. And we walked away from making it, feeling like we've accomplished that."

OM&M take sobering looks at depression, anxiety, loneliness, and existential dread, powering through the darkness, and emphasizing the importance of creativity as a balm for mental health. A commanding tempest of sounds coalesces within Of Mice & Men, blending the uplifting eloquence of modern active rock with the atmospheric dissonance of experimental post-rock. The band first emerged as part of a vanguard of future aggressive rock hitmakers. Over the years, they've distinguished themselves with musicality, creative ambition, and resilient determination.

Album eight is no less ambitious. Tether is anchored by a reflective meditation on what it means to draw together as friends, family men, artists, and bandmates. What does it mean to be there for the people who depend on us, knowing we can’t fully protect them from the hardships of life?

Tether is the next step in OM&M's evolution, combining their core sound with experimental and ethereal sound designs. The creative process focused on the excitement of discovery rather than preconceived "goals." Pursuing the moments when the elusive "x factor" reveals itself in the songs. Those moments are palpable in songs like "Integration," "Warpaint," "Enraptured," and "Indigo."

The Of Mice & Men core since 2016 – Aaron, Alan, Tino, and Phil – maintain a powerful bond with their audience and each other, no matter the obstacles. Whether a powerful anthem or atmospheric confession, their songs translate in intimate clubs and massive festivals. "It's about creating moments for people," Pauley says. "Music is the soundtrack to people's lives."

OM&M will also hit the road with Bullet For My Valentine and Vended this fall. All dates are below.

TRIUMPH OF DEATH ANNOUNCE THEIR DEBUT LIVE ALBUM PERFORMING HELLHAMMER'S ‘RESURRECTION OF THE FLESH,’ RELEASING ON NOVEMBER 10, 2023 WITH NOISE/BMG

The impact of Swiss extreme metal forefathers Hellhammer is one that still resonates around the global metal scene today, such was their influence on the early extreme, death, and black metal genres. In the 40 years that have passed since their humble beginnings in Nurensdorf, Switzerland, in May 1982, they have gained a mythically iconic status despite existing for a mere two years. However the band left a highly influential body of work behind, including the three demos Death Fiend, Satanic Rites and Triumph Of Death (al re-released in 2008 as the Demon Entrails demo retrospective), the seminal Apocalyptic Raids EP, and two tracks from the legendary Death Metal compilation. In light of this legacy, it is almost inconceivable that Hellhammer never performed this music on stage.

Celtic Frost, the successor group formed by Hellhammer founding member Tom Gabriel Warrior and former Hellhammer bassist Martin Eric Ain, would sporadically play a Hellhammer song or two, and Warrior’s current band, Triptykon, have played the occasional Hellhammer song live, but the vast body of Hellhammer's work remained unperformed, until the inception of Triumph Of Death. In 2019 Tom Gabriel Warrior stated : Hellhammer will never return and will never be reformed. It is absolutely impossible to reform a band so closely linked to a very specific and unique period in time. But Hellhammer's music exists, and it is an extremely important part of my life's path. And I would like to play it onstage before my demise.

The resurrection of the music of Hellhammer had been an idea Tom Gabriel Warrior and Martin Eric Ain
discussed for many years, sparked not least by their renewed collaboration in the reformed Celtic Frost
in the 2000s. The first steps towards the realization of Triumph Of Death, named after Hellhammer's
most infamous song and intended to be a very respectful and authentic tribute to Hellhammer, were
finally taken in 2014, and the band was officially founded in autumn of 2018. Triumph Of Death consists
of individuals who not only love the music in question but truly understand it. The line-up emulates Hellhammer's final incarnation of April/May 1984, when the group had added an additional guitarist. To
date Triumph Of Death have performed numerous notable concerts globally and have brought the seminal music of Hellhammer to fans both old and new. Many of whom thought they may never see it live on stage.

Triumph Of Death’s debut live release Resurrection Of The Flesh is the culmination of three concerts. Recorded in the spring of 2023 at Hell’s Heroes Festival in Houston USA, Dark Easter Metal Meeting in Munich, Germany and SWR Barroselas Metal Fest in Portugal, the album was produced by Tom Gabriel Warrior and Triptykon's V. Santura. The record captures the band at their primeval finest; raw, foreboding and heavy. The songs may date back four decades but here they are revealed to be still just as vital today as when they were written in the band’s infamous rehearsal bunker in the rural village of Birchwil, Switzerland in the early 1980s. From the thunderous opening chords of Third Of The Storms (Evoked Damnation) to the malevolent, morbid feedback of set closer Triumph Of Death, this album is a sixty minute document of the overwhelming power of the live performance of Triumph Of Death, and it captures the spirit and intensity of these historic songs that have transcended decades to become revered and timeless.

Warrior: This album is, most importantly, testament to the unique connection that exists between the audience and this band. Hellhammer's music was an underground token in 1982 to 1984, often ridiculed and shunned, and we owe the fact that we are now able to perform it all across the globe entirely to grace, openness, and enthusiasm of those who make exactly these concerts possible. They give us as much as we given them, and my gratitude to them knows no limits.

Triumph Of Death

Autarkh Reach Inner Peace on New Single

Autarkh are known for hard-wiring extreme metal with glitchy electronica and IDM beats. But on the lead single from their new album, the Dutch band proved that they were human after all.

Where "Strife" found Autarkh locked in a battle with their inner demons, the new single off 'Emergent' reaches for inner peace.

""Refocus" is the fifth track on 'Emergent', says guitarist and lead vocalist Michel Nienhuis. "It revolves around the will to return to the serene state of mind that opens the album".

Watch the intense performance video for "Refocus"
HERE, which was filmed, edited and animated by Spread Motion Design.

'Emergent comes out November 10. Pre-order the album
HERE. Pre-save it HERE.

"Refocus" is still heavy. The song opens with a hammering computerized beat and riffs that chug with all the industrialized heft of an oil drill. Death growls stew in the air like flies, as if warning of what's to come. It's chaotic and overwhelming, almost too much to even bare. But after headbanging their way through another avalanche of a chorus, Autarkh break free. "The splendor of wholeness reinstated", Nienhuis sings, backed by radiant harmonies.

"The clean vocals in Refocus were one of the hardest parts for me to record", says Nienhuis. "But I'm really happy with how they turned out".

Dutch contemporary metal adventurers Autarkh are back with their sophomore full-length album Emergent. Michel Nienhuis, founder of Autarkh and Dodecahedrom, teamed up again with guitarist/producer David Luiten (Inferum), bassist Desmond Kuijk (Dear Mother) and electronics wizard Tijnn Verbruggen to create the follow-up to their highly acclaimed debut album 'Form In Motion', released by Season Of Mist on 12 March 2021. Monica Kendrick (Chicago Reader, US) on the relevance of the group’s debut:

"And I’ll call it now: given the time to flourish and sink into the ears of an audience, Autarkh will become highly influential on the next generation of extreme metal."

'Emergent' is another testament to Autarkh’s imagination and creativity. It delivers increased versatility and contrast, and sees the band expand towards more uplifting and consonant territories. Form In Motion explored the boundaries of sonic extremes; on 'Emergent', Autarkh broadens its horizon and shows diversity and nuance while preserving its intense and razor-sharp edge.

With nine tracks, 'Emergent' is a sonic exploration of the inner universe where all things light and dark can be encountered. The listener is lured into an "Open Focus" (a meditative state of mind) in preparation for an inward journey along the physical energy centers. From the thumping synth basses of "Strife" and the menacing sludgy melancholy of "Duhkha", we move into the bewildering blasts of "Trek", where stellar harmonies will eventually burst through the oppressive atmosphere. The trip continues with the crushing downtempo groove that enforces "Refocus", as well as the mind-bending a capella interlude "Aperture" and the frivolous "Eye Of Horus" and "Countless Kaleidoscopes", to finally deliver all-encompassing enlightenment with Ka.

Composers Nienhuis’s and Luiten’s statements and states of mind capture the same capriciousness and unease of 'Form In Motion', this time leaving a more open, diverse and radiant imprint. With exciting vocal harmonies, bold contrasts and a vivid imagination, Autarkh sheds a bright light on the inner self and exposes it to the world with intensity and conviction. That makes Emergent an evocative release with a multilayered yet crystal-clear production that promises a bright future for Autarkh.

"[Simonetti's] electronic score proved to be the perfect counterpoint to the rock songs, often oozing with menace and certainly adding to the fear factor... And, as usual with Simonetti, it makes for a great listen outside the film." - Horror Cult Films

"Simonetti acting as a solo composer here rather than as part of Goblin replicates this in his pulsating electronic score... It’s got a sense of stalking malevolence about it right up there with the film itself and is horror music personified." - Ave Noctum

"...a fascinating snapshot of a composer in transition, moving from a band setting to a solo career, expanding his range and creating some of the most stirring music of his career. We treasure Demons for withstanding the test of time, but the real gem here is Simonetti." - Popshifter

"Argento’s eye for filmmaking was still razor-sharp in those days; combined with the like-father-like-son style of Bava and a nightmarish synth score from Goblin’s Claudio Simonetti the film had all the necessary elements to satisfy horror fans. And truly, it’s a blast from start to finish with little time wasted." - Dread Central

"This soundtrack perfectly captures the growing tension created by the film as the main characters are transformed into demons, leading the way with the electro metal of Killing, the percussively cruel Demon, and the now classic cult hit Demon. 30 years later the music still shines with timeless quality thanks to the eclectic talent of composer Claudio Simonetti." - Rustblade

"...you can hear a delicately strummed acoustic guitar here, a traditional flute there. Hollow Front Share "Breaking Teeth" — LISTEN

Grand Rapids, Michigan-based metalcore slingers HOLLOW FRONT recently announced their third album The Fear of Letting Go. It arrives October 27 via UNFD. Pre-order it here.

Today, they have shared the visualizer for the voracious new single "Breaking Teeth."

Watch and listen
Below.

The song is as fierce and ferocious as its name suggests — it can knock your chompers right down your through with its intensity! It also features a synthy mid-section, which is an unexpected and thrilling sonic surprise.

"This song is just pissed," says vocalist Tyler Tate. "It's one of the heaviest songs on the record, if not the heaviest. When I wrote the lyrics, I was just so fed up with the world and my life in general. It felt like no matter what I did, I could never get ahead. Set back after set back, problems around every corner. It's annoying having to cope all the time. Living should be simpler. But the society we live in prevents that. We should all be pissed about it."

This Grand Rapids, MI duo — Tate and Lee Albrecht [guitar ] — emerged from a season of seemingly endless trials and tribulations. Instead of backing down, they transform the chaos around them into unpredictable and undeniable anthems.

"The album is a journey out of feeling helpless in a situation I don't have control over," notes Tyler. "I've realized the only thing I have control over is the choice to move on and keep going. That's all I'm doing. I'm not ready to give up yet."

There's no reason to…

Hollow Front have consistently captivated audiences by tempering unfettered heaviness with undeniable melodies. The band emerged as a fan favorite with Loose Threads in 2020. After the album tallied 1 million streams during release-week, "Afflicted" eventually racked up over 7.2 million Spotify streams and counting. The 2022 follow-up, The Price of Dreaming, earned widespread critical acclaim. New Noise Magazine hailed it as "a blistering and bruising experience, evoking myriad emotions and conveying a heady and moving blend of euphoria and despair." Distorted Sound dubbed it "metalcore at its most earnest." Along the way, they shared stages with everyone from Fit For a King and We Came As Romans to Dayseeker and August Burns Red.

At the same time, the guys weathered one storm after another. A van accident, subsequent financial strife, and lineup shifts left Hollow Front a two-piece by the end of 2022. So, the pair hunkered down and wrote, mixed, and mastered what would become The Fear of Letting Go in its entirety with Lee producing and recording out of his home studio. For the first time, Tyler also assumed both heavy and clean vocal duties.

Philadelphia art-rock duo TULIPOMANIA presents new single 'You Had To Be There' with mysterious animated film

"Tulipomania’s unique take on post-punk boasts gritty guitars underpinned by a brooding rhythm section to provide a backdrop for compelling and atmospheric vocals" ~ Louder Than War

"All the hallmarks of fine Cold War electronica: a brain-searing synth line, and an overwhelming sense of claustrophobia and bubbling anxiety" ~
Electronic Sound

"Sends you in a spiral of pure nirvana" ~ Magnet Magazine

"Reverberating, rippling riffs are more soothing and spacious, replicating deep-sea sonar devices and lulling lap steels... mystery-laced lyrics" ~ Big Takeover Magazine

Magnification doesn’t always yield detail.
Maybe you had to be there…
When the observer and the observed exchange places – at what point do we hold ourselves accountable?

Philadelphia-based art-rock duo
Tulipomania present 'You Had to Be There', the first single from their new album 'Dreaming of Sleep', slated for release on November 17 via Sursumcorda Records.

This is Tulipomania's fifth album, featuring cover artwork by
Michael Speed, previously senior designer at Beggars Group London. and involving Executive Producer Howard Thompson, renowned for his contributions as a record industry executive (Elektra, Island, Almo Sounds), having discovered such artists as Adam and the Ants, Billy Bragg, MC5, Mötorhead, PiL, Psychedelic Furs, Robyn Hitchcock, The Sugarcubes and Suicide, and others.

On this album, Tulipomania has immersed themselves fully in electronic means of creation – the exception being a sole accent played on electric guitar.

Alternately categorized as cult synth punks, glam-leaning, post-punk, art-rock and muscular chamber pop, Tulipomania is made up of Tom Murray (lead vocals, synthesizer, electronic percussion) and Cheryl Gelover (synthesizer, background vocals), who first began their collaboration through projects for experimental film and animation classes.  The duo now known as Tulipomania has evolved from those experiences.

As its first single, 'You Had To Be There' establishes the conceptual viewpoint of the album – embracing contradiction invites accountability. Cheryl Gelover says, "The Dada-esque stance channels a hopeful innervating energy. When navigating the morass – trust the teller – or the tale? You had to be there... maybe."

Created frame by frame, the animation includes animated lip sync and vintage found footage in an exploration of varied states of disintegration and recombination, created on thousands of individual sheets of black or white paper.

"There has been an overwhelming sense of dread and mistrust obviously brewing for a long time. In the post-Trump post-pandemic now - if it is or ever will be possible to be post either of those cataclysmic events –  I wonder what the future will ask about it all," says Tom Murray.

"I wonder what the future will not understand and want to clarify about the self-serving lies, liars and grifters, and the foolishness of many who were here but not present in any real sense – unable or unwilling to see what was and is happening as everything rolls up to the very well placed few. I don't know what we can tell the future that can make this recent history any clearer. Maybe it is and has always been – and will always be this way. Maybe, you had to be there."

Described as ‘artistic and inventive’ and ‘gorgeous', Tulipomania's animated music videos have been featured in film festivals worldwide. Numerous such festivals have already showcased this new video as an official selection, including the Leeds International Film Festival (UK), StopTrik (Croatia, Poland), AniFilm (Czech Republic), Insomnia (Russia) and Malatesta (Italy) with the Montreal International Animation Film Festival - Animaze awarding it an Honorable Mention.

The pair also recently created two animated music videos -
'Hush' and 'Shock To The Body' - for Cabaret Voltaire co-founder and frontman Stephen Mallinder in support of his solo album 'Tick, Tick, Tick', released last year on Dais Records.

As of September 20, the single 'You Had to Be There' is available from fine music platforms, including
Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp. On November 17, the full 'Dreaming of Sleep' album will be released on CD, vinyl and digitally.. It is available for pre-order via Bandcamp.

Britain's KARAMELIEN presents 'Living With The Moon', sweet reverie previewing the indiepop duo's debut album

''A true work of beauty and professionalism, taking you to your very own ascension heights" ~ Amplify Music Magazine

"Upbeat, a joyous folk-rock affair... bedecked in kaleidoscopic sixties sparkle, a slight splash of psychedelia and a whole tsunami of charm and grace" ~ Big Takeover Magazine

"A hug of soulful indie pop with groove as infectious as its melodic breath and lyrical smile is poetic... seductive captivation" ~ Ringmaster Review

UK indiepop duo
Karamelien presents their new single 'Living With The Moon',the title track from their forthcoming album by the same name.

An upbeat, breezy offering, this is a feel-good guitar-driven anthem that gives the musical finger to the armchair critics. At the same time, it comes to terms with the ongoing struggle with mental health and embraces the lunar flow - the ups and downs and ebbs and flows of life and all its mysteries.

Based in East Grinstead, Karamelien is singer-songwriter
Léanie Kaleido and guitarist Mark Foster - two long-time friends, whose music has forged an even stronger bond between them. The new single is about finding triumph through adversity, but also makes for a great singalong indie pop anthem.

"I wrote this song after a year of counselling for depression and anxiety, linked to menopause and not helped by Covid-enforced inactivity and unease. On our final session, my amazing counsellor Jude, who I have kept in touch with, described the acceptance of good and bad days as ‘like living with the moon’.  I told her that would make a great song title and promised her I’d write it – and I did!" says Léanie Kaleido.

“So, the lyrics are a thank you to myself for getting the help I needed at the time, a finger to the armchair critics and the toxic people who didn’t help, and a willing surrender to the lunar power over us all. It’s about the feeling of freedom you get when you stop worrying so much about what everyone else thinks and learn to accept your weaknesses and discover your hidden strengths.”

Earlier, Karamelien released the single 'Wait For Me' featuring piano, mixing and production by Chris Mars (A Flock of Seagulls, Damian Wilson) and two tracks produced by RIDE's Mark Gardener at OX4 Sound Studio - 'Lionhearts' and the epic 'Ascension Heights', which features a guitar sample from Léanie's late father Top Topham (original founding guitarist of The Yardbirds). This particular song also features bassist Mo Pleasure (Earth, Wind & Fire, Michael Jackson) and involved Paul Statham (Dido, Simple Minds, Kylie Minogue).

The 'Living With The Moon' single is out now, available on
Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp. The full album will be released on October 27 and is already available for pre-order via Bandcamp.

Trans-Atlantic alternative neo-folk collective
Lusitanian Ghosts present their third long-player 'Lusitanian Ghosts III', released via the European Phonographiclabel. Recorded and mixed at Clouds Hill Studios in Hamburg by Sebastian Muxfeldt (Elbow, Peter Doherty, Teenage Fanclub), this album is being released in both stereo and mono versions.

A Portuguese-Canadian-Swedish chordophone collective founded by
Neil Leyton and Micke Ghost (a.k.a. Mikael Lundin), Lusitanian Ghosts revives lost instruments and presents ancient sounds in the 21st Century. Re-casting these heritage folk violas into rock n roll songs, the European artist collective writes from a socio-political perspective on building a better world, creating songs for the heart and mind, recording on analogue tape and releasing moving music on vinyl.

Together with João Sousa, Abel Beja (from Primitive Reason), ToZé Bexiga (from Raia) and Jan-Eric Olsson, Lusitanian Ghosts plays traditional Portuguese chordophone instruments, ancient regional guitars (Amarantina, Beiroa, Campaniça, Braguesa, Toeira, Terceirense). These instruments, once on the verge of extinction, are the real "Lusitanian Ghosts" (Lusitania being an ancient Celtic tribe in what would become the central territory of Portugal).

"For 'Lusitanian Ghosts III', we wanted to write and record all together, live off the floor, on analogue tape like we used to back in the 20th century. Lyrically, we explored deeper emotional territory than ever before, and sonically we ended up mixing each song twice - in mono and stereo - leading to two different LPs," says Neil Leyton.

"We mixed down from 24-track multitrack analogue to 1/4 inch analogue also, then reeled the machine straight to the mastering suite next door at Clouds Hill, Soundgarden Tonstudio in Hamburg. I know it is a common thing to say, but I'm going to say it is the best record I've ever made."

Earlier, the band previewed
'The Long Train', 'Shameless''Got Enough' and the latest single 'September', bringing to the fore the Portuguese folk chordophone violas Amarantina, Campaniça and Terceirense, skilfully played by Michael Lundin, ToZé Bexiga and Abel Beja respectively. Lusitanian Ghosts make music with absolutely no guitars - just chordophones, bass and drums. Although a brand new rock n roll alt-folk sub-genre, these songs feel warmly familiar.

As of September 15, the 'Lusitanian Ghosts III' album can be obtained
everywhere digitally, including SpotifyApple Music and Bandcamp. It will also be released on vinyl, with both mono version and stereo version available.

On October 14, the Ghosts will present the new album live at Lisbon's
Teatro Taborda. Folks purchasing this album from FNAC Portugal will also get a complimentary guest-list ticket for this album release show.

Beartooth Collaborate With Country/Rock Superstar HARDY on New Track "The Better Me"

NEW ALBUM THE SURFACE OUT OCTOBER 13 VIA RED BULL RECORDS

Gold-selling, billion-streaming rock band BEARTOOTH — Caleb Shomo, vocals; Zach Huston, guitars; Will Deely, guitars; Oshie Bichar, bass; and Connor Denis, drums — will release their fifth album The Surface on October 13 via Red Bull Records. Pre-order it
here.

Like its predecessors, The Surface is an intensely personal and powerful journey for Shomo, who has never shied away from sharing his demons in his music and with his fans. However, the frontman has turned a corner with a more optimistic outlook and demonstrates exceptional growth as both an artist and a human being through the songs that comprise the album.

Today, the band has shared the new single "The Better Me (Feat. HARDY)." Listen
here.

This epic collaboration is the product of the mutual admiration for each other's work and their friendship. HARDY even spoke about looking to Shomo for advice on how to perfect his own sing/scream vocal delivery in a chat with
Billboard.

"There are times where we feel like there is a way better version of ourselves somewhere deep inside that we need to find and bring back to the forefront of our lives," shares Shomo. "This song is about going through the things that brought me to that conclusion. Simply put, I made a choice to be a better me."

Additionally, all previously released tracks — "Riptide," "Sunshine!," "Might Love Myself," and "Doubt Me" have tallied nearly 54 million total streams thus far.

Both Beartooth and HARDY are currently in the Top 15 on Active Rock radio charts in the US and rising! In fact, Beartooth's "Might Love Myself" moved up two slots this week and is currently at #15 on the Active Rock radio chart, which is the fastest clip at which they've cracked the top 15 in their career.

ABOUT BEARTOOTH:
Caleb Shomo first turned the pain of his struggle with mental health and self-image into music in 2013. Beartooth began as a living document, a diary, a journal of repressed rage and depression. Alone in his basement studio, screaming and singing, playing all the instruments, and self-producing a batch of furious but melodic songs filled with reflection and confession, the Ohio native stared into the abyss, initially with no intention of returning to the heavy music world that burned him as a teen. A decade later, the different pieces of his body of work connect in title, sound, and spirit. As the frontman hits 30, Beartooth’s fifth album, he Surface, completes this era in 2023. Even more importantly, it kicks off a new chapter filled with surprising optimism and just as honest. Depression is a sick, disgusting, aggressive disease below the surface. Shomo stands ready to bask in the light.

Like Nine Inch Nails, Beartooth remains a one-person band in the studio. On the heels of the introductory Sick EP (2013), Disgusting (2014) produced the band's first Gold single, "In Between." Aggressive (2016) and Disease (2018) expanded on the desperation and pain, each a step closer to a balance between the blood and tears of classic recordings and the shimmer of modernity.

Rolling Stone heralded Beartooth as one of 10 Artists You Need to Know. The rabid response to Shomo's music demonstrated how many people related to his struggle for self-acceptance. Below (2021) topped the Rock and Alternative charts and several Best Rock/Metal Albums of the Year lists. As of 2023, the Beartooth catalog boasts more than 1 billion streams across all platforms.

Beartooth began as both bomb and balm, an outright refusal to suffer in silence, weaponizing radio-ready bombast, delivering raw emotion mixed with noise-rock chaos. Other bands play the "devastating riffs and catchy hooks" game, but this music is the difference between life and death, and now, a sort of life after death while still here. The band Forbes sees "inching towards a tipping point of becoming the latest arena headliner" is now one step closer.

ABOUT HARDY:
Big Loud Records' heavy-hitter HARDY has never been just one thing. Uncaging a new chapter, HARDY soared to new heights with the release of themockingbird & THE CROW, his critically acclaimed half-country, half-rock sophomore album, adding to over 3 billion career streams. The dichotomous, 17-track effort debuted top five all genre on the Billboard 200 Albums chart and kinged seven additional Billboard charts in its first week, including Top Country Albums, Top Rock Albums, and Top Album Sales. The pride of Philadelphia, Miss. has earned his reputation as "a promising purveyor of keeping the spirit of classic heavy Southern rock alive" (American Songwriter), "capable of writing the big hits for radio, obstinate enough to do something completely unexpected, and savvy enough to find the throughline for it all" (Rolling Stone). A 5X ACM award winner, HARDY is a three-time CMA Triple Play award recipient, the 2022 BMI Country Songwriter of the Year, and a three-time AIMP Songwriter of the Year. HARDY has written 13 #1 singles including his own double platinum #1 single "ONE BEER" feat. Lauren Alaina + Devin Dawson, chart-topping, platinum Dierks Bentley + BRELAND collaboration, "Beers On Me," and game-changing platinum duet “wait in the truck” feat. Lainey Wilson. He's previously toured with Thomas Rhett, Morgan Wallen, Florida Georgia Line, Jason Aldean, Cole Swindell, and more, and flies nationwide on his sold-out, 19-date headline arena tour, the mockingbird & THE CROW Tour, this fall.

London psychedelic funk-rock artist Sabatta presents 'Get Your Shit Together', heralding new album

"An unholy amalgamation of sounds... Refusing to obey genre lines, they eventually realised that their misfit sound was what defined them – and they didn't want to fit in anyway" ~ Clash Magazine

"Charismatic and wild, frontman Yinka Oyewole leads the band through psychedelia, grunge punk and funk with some great shredding and even falsetto heights.... Sabatta drives a blaze of fiery, magnetic vocals, funked-out bass and thrashing guitar" ~ The Spill Magazine

"Exhibiting a style that can be closely linked to punk legends Bad Brains and Dead Kennedys... uncompromising modern punk rock music" ~ Fortitude Magazine

"In-your-face, unapologetic and diverse. Sabatta have created a sound that is uniquely their own... the black sheep of rock and roll. An outsider to the alternative"~ Get In Her Ears

London-based alternative rock artist
Sabatta presents his rip-roaring new single 'Get Your Shit Together' (along with a radio edit) as a wake up call to the masses. A funkadelic groove-laden track that is as addictive as it is memorable, this song heralds his forthcoming album 'How To Get Even’.

Revolving around guitarist and songwriter Yinka Oyewole, who was raised in Essex and is of Nigerian lineage, Sabatta crafts a raw and individual sound with spiky guitar and an inimitable voice, like a mix of Hendrix, QOTSA and early Red Hot Chili Peppers strained through the sieve of South London. And it's no wonder with musical influences ranging from Curtis Mayfield, Prince, Tupac and Hendrix to Bad Brains, Thin Lizzy, Parliament / Funkadelic and Black Sabbath.

We’ve all heard the expression of being ‘in two minds’ or having a devil on one shoulder and an angel on the other - but what happens when the opposing sides of our conscience come to life? The video for Sabatta’s new single
‘Get Your Shit Together’ brings those ideas to life in stark and spectacular fashion!

At the song’s opening, we are confronted with furiously fuzzy guitars that return to growl at us in each chorus. This contrasts with super wah-wah riffing in the verse, all leading up to sweet solo shredding in the musical breakdown. All this matched with Yinka’s lyrical vulnerability about struggling with the hedonistic lifestyle musicians often feel compelled to indulge in. Here we have a concoction as hard to resist as the demons Yinka is waging war with through his words, emphasizing that we’ve all got to get our shit together at some point - there's no better time than the present.

Yinka Oyewole says "this is the most cohesive and free Sabatta album I’ve produced. It’s also the most raw and unfiltered. I love storytelling, I love guitar playing, I love grooves. And I love being my own person, even if that's seen as rebellious or contrary, on the new album I’m just being me."

Produced and mixed by Yinka Oyewole for Blackfriars Entertainment, this album was recorded by Alex Franklinos at
Shrunken Heads Studio (King Krule, Ghostpoet, Songdog, Domino Records) and mastered at London's EC Mastering (Sony, Universal, BBC),

Yinka Oyewole began making noise with their debut album
'Middle Of the Night', released in 2015. With their sound, being compared to Hendrix and QOTSA, but  with an edge like Bad Brains and The Clash, the album’s lead single 'Politician'garnered national play on BBC 6 Music, setting the band off touring nationally.

Some may call this "grunge soul" or "funk-punk rock", but it is also very much "alternative rock" in the sense that it rests on raw-as-f**k riffs with thought-police proof lyrics that provide a view alternative to the conventional wisdom. Here we have super dirty riffs, grooves that would make both Black Sabbath and George Clinton proud, lyrics with the vitriol and vulnerability of Tupac, and the wit of Elvis Costello.

As of September 15, ‘Get Your Shit Together’ will be available across digital platforms, including
Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp. Sabatta will be releasing the full album 'How To Get Even’ on Friday, November 17.
