L.S. Dunes Share "Old Wounds" VIsualizer — WATCH // Band Touring With Pierce The Veil In The Fall🩸

L.S. Dunes — vocalist Anthony Green, guitarist Frank Iero, bassist Tim Payne, guitarist, Travis Stever, and drummer Tucker Rule — will release theirs second stand-alone single of the summer entitled "Old Wounds."

The hauntingly beautiful "Old Wounds," along with the previously released psyche-metal workout "
Benadryl Subreddit," were both recorded in April at renowned studio Rancho De La Luna in Joshua Tree, California with producer by Alex Newport (Mars Volta, Frank Turner, and City & Colour).  The new tracks follow the release of their landmark debut album, 2022's Past Lives

Old Wounds" and watch the visualizer below.

Earlier this week, L.S. Dunes also released Part 2 of Limitless Sky, a special behind-the-scenes documentary on the making of "Benadryl Subreddit" and "Old Wounds" at Rancho De Luna.

Watch Part 1 HERE and Part 2 HERE.

'Old Wounds' was a song that Travis brought to the band a while back," says Iero. "In getting ready for the upcoming desert session, Anthony came back around to it and ended up singing an incredible melody over it. After hearing Anthony's voice on that song, it was pretty obvious what needed to be played over those existing melodies. 'Old Wounds' definitely feels like it represents the cold nights out in the desert for me and it might be one of my favorite songs we have done as a band."

"'Old Wounds' was inspired by something I thought that I had lost that I actually needed to let go of," shares Green.

"The way everyone drifted into this song and brought their own energy was one of the most organic and natural approaches to songwriting I have ever been a part of, " states Stever. "From the initial instrumental ideas to the vocals Anthony added, all the way to the production, it just flowed. Like we had a road map for where the song would go already. The feelings it derives from me, and the continued layers make it possibly my favorite song I have ever been a part of writing."

The band just wrapped up a summer headline tour with sold-out shows in New York and Los Angeles. They are set to return to Chicago's RIOT FEST September 17, before joining Pierce The Veil on the 18-date Jaws of Life Tour, from November 4 through December 8. Full itinerary below.

FLAT BLACK Share New Singles "It's Your Lack of Respect" + "Halo"

Guitarist Jason Hook is storming out of the gates with his new band FLAT BLACK. The former Five Finger Death Punch guitarist has recruited a trio of young and talented turks, and the band has signed with Fearless Records for its debut album, the details of which are TBA. The album, produced by Hook, was recorded at both Hooks home studio and The Hideout.

The band will support Godsmack on tour this fall. All dates are below. Get tickets
here

Today, FLAT BLACK have shared two new songs: "
It's Your Lack of Respect" and "Halo."

Watch the video for "It's Your Lack of Respect"
below.

Listen to "Halo"
here.

"It's Your Lack of Respect" has a raging, gnarly fire in its belly. With its percussive thrust, chunky riffs, shreddy guitars, and sheer attitude, the song will ignite mosh pits from the first note. The alternately snarled and sung vocal add a hefty dose of dynamics to a song that's already got plenty of grit and girth. It has a defiant energy — and what's more rock 'n' roll than that?

"I didn't want to play it safe with the first release," says Hook. "Sure, there are other songs on the album that are more geared towards radio, but to me, 'It's Your Lack of Respect' makes a statement. It's unapologetically defiant, which is how I feel as a songwriter and we feel as band in today's seemingly homogenized rock landscape."

"Halo" is a mid-tempo rock anthem that demonstrates all of Flat Black's hallmarks. You're in for rapid fire riffing, soaring and thickly layered choruses with emotive clean vocals, and searing solos. The band doesn't scrimp on deep grooves, as the song is teeming with them.

"I love 'Halo' because the song sets a dark, sinister mood," Hook explains. "'Its charm is all about the contrast between the piano part and the guitar riff, not to mention the big chorus and guitar solo — to me, that's the FLAT BLACK sound."

ABOUT FLAT BLACK:
"I feel like FLAT BLACK is a secret I've been keeping for three years," Hook says. "It's finally time to unleash this band on the world. I'm grateful to Sully from Godsmack for giving us the chance to get out on the road and play for such an amazing group of fans."

Despite having reached a commercial summit with his prior band, thanks to multiple platinum certifications, sold-out arena shows, and a string of No. 1 singles, Hook remains as hungry for musical blood and thunder as the day he first picked up a guitar at the age of six. He is eager to not only replicate but to surpass his past successes with his new band.

Having left his prior band in February 2020, which was right before COVID-19 put the entire world on pause, Hook wanted to assume creative control and let his musical free spirit soar in a project that was truly his. He opted to gamble on himself. With great risk comes great reward and the decision to form FLAT BLACK clearly worked out in his favor.

"As a musician, I crave freedom and I wasn't ready to stop creating," Hook shares.

"Life is short," he continues. "We all want to feel satisfied and happy with what we are trying to accomplish in life."

The pandemic shutdown allowed him the opportunity to assemble the right musicians and carefully craft their debut album. FLAT BLACK are armed with an arsenal of riffs that'll rattle your teeth loose from your gums, stadium-sized hooks, arena-ready anthems, and choruses that are guaranteed to touch a nerve. All of those factors combined make FLAT BLACK poised for success.

The origin stories of the rest of the players are indicative of a lifelong love of music and plenty of road-worn experience. The desire to play courses through their veins and propels them forward, which is why they all meshed so well with Hook.

Singer Wes Horton was introduced to music at age 13, thanks to his sister and Guitar Hero. He honed his vocal chops by playing in local bands and making online videos. Various music industry friends and acquaintances would become the connective tissue between himself and Hook. Horton knew he wanted to be a frontman, and FLAT BLACK afforded him that opportunity. Wes loves the fact that his bandmates prioritize songcraft — and that allows him to be the singer he has always wanted to be.

Bassist Nick Diltz, who was born and raised in Los Angeles, is the son of a legendary rock music photographer who brought him to concerts during his formative years. He recalls being inspired by watching a VHS video of U2 performing at legendary venue Red Rocks. Seeing fans clamoring for a piece of Bono in the footage is a vision that never left his head. This first exposure to the power of a true rock icon solidified Nick's destiny as a live performer.

Drummer Rob Pierce hails from Nashville, aka Music City. His dad was a race car driver and his grandfather was a pastor. He grew up racing go karts and at first, wanted to follow in his dad's footsteps until he joined the fourth grade band and was bitten by the music bug. He chose the snare drum over the saxophone and from that moment on, music was the only thing that mattered. Rob got his first drum kit at age 11, which he set up in his dad's car shop. He learned to play his instrument next to 1,000 horsepower engines, which influences his highly energetic style to this day.

The chemistry between the players in FLAT BLACK is palpable. And while FLAT BLACK's songs are built to take up real estate in the brains of fans for weeks at a time, the true nature of the band's material is meant to be experienced live. FLAT BLACK are now ready to hit the road and bring these brutal bangers to the masses live and in the flesh.

SINGER-SONGWRITER ROB ROTH RELEASES “AWOL” A Melodic Escape into Self-Discovery

New York-based multi-talented powerhouse and rising star, Rob Roth, has released his new single “Awol,” today. The song, co-written by Rob Roth himself, boasts an infectious hook with powerful lyrics that resonate with anyone who has ever felt disillusioned by the corporate world. The main hook of "Awol" revolves around a universal theme of feeling overwhelmed and disconnected from the world, prompting the powerful lyrics, “I don’t wanna do it no more, think I’m going Awol.” Rob Roth masterfully captures the emotions of those who have experienced being caught in the corporate world's labyrinth, where individual

value can often be overlooked. The song beautifully portrays a journey of self-discovery, self-awareness, and ultimately, breaking free from the constraints of societal expectations.

"Awol" is a song that masterfully combines Rob Roth's 90s/00s pop-rock influences; with its guitar riff-driven foundation, uplifting atmosphere, bright synths, and lively percussion. Influenced by artists such as Dave Matthews, John Mayer, Goo Goo Dolls, Avicii, Chainsmokers, among others, Rob Roth aims to evoke a wide range of emotions through his songwriting, encompassing pain, hardship, healing, and love. Collaborating with renowned vocal coach RAab Stevenson, who has worked with top artists like Dave Matthews, Justin Timberlake, Rihanna, and more, Rob Roth continuously hones his craft to deliver exceptional performances.

Rob Roth's entry into the music scene has been nothing short of remarkable. After battling consecutive major sport related injuries and surgeries in his early 20s, he reconnected with the guitar, igniting a passion for music that he had never fully explored before. From the very beginning of his musical endeavors, Rob Roth's talent and potential were evident. In his first-ever vocal lesson in 2019 he received a profound compliment from his coach, when his voice was likened to the legendary Chester Bennington of Linkin Park. This comment served as a catalyst, fueling Rob's motivation to practice tirelessly throughout the pandemic, reaching a point where he felt compelled to pursue music seriously. Rob's musical transformation took flight in 2021, when he released his first-ever song and subsequently delivered an impressive repertoire of 11 tracks and an EP. Now, with the release of "Awol," Rob has expanded his horizons into production. In 2022, he focused on learning the art of production, even taking on an internship with his EP Co-Producer, Adam Clark. As a result, he has a collection of self-produced tracks ready for release in the upcoming fall/winter season.

Dogma Releases New Track & Video FORBIDDEN ZONE

Faithful truth seekers, today Dogma releases their new single and video, "Forbidden Zone."  This is the first visual chapter (and first track) of the comprehensive Dogma saga that constitutes their forthcoming album.  The story unfolds within this inaugural track, boldly exploring taboos that constrain authentic expression. The resonant message dares all souls to shatter the chains that bind them, embarking on a journey towards genuine self-discovery and empowerment.

The video, directed by Saico, vividly illustrates the curiosity surrounding these taboos. It follows the infamous nuns (Lilith, Lamia, Nixe, and Abrahel), who bear witness to the wavering purity of a young Lilith, tempted to enter the covenant's oath.

Dogma encourages the devoted to confront their innermost fears and embrace the liberation lying beyond the bounds of conventionality.

Watch the video below:

Dogma beckons us to embrace rebellion and unleash our carnal desires. They cast aside the chains of modesty, conjuring a tempest of sensuality that demands unwavering attention and passionate participation.

Be prepared, for this revelation serves as a harbinger of the impending unveiling of Dogma's forthcoming album. As they forge their sonic arsenal in the crucible of creative passion, they challenge conventions and summon the faithful to join their unyielding crusade.

Indulge in the auditory and visual splendor offered by the sisterhood, unraveling the enigma that is DOGMA.

Beartooth Drop Video for New Track"Doubt Me" + Video

Gold-selling, billion-streaming rock band BEARTOOTH — Caleb Shomo, vocals; Zach Huston, guitars; Will Deely, guitars; Oshie Bichar, bass; and Connor Denis, drums — have announced their fifth album The Surface. It will arrive October 13 via Red Bull Records. Pre-order it here.

Like its predecessors, The Surface is an intensely personal and powerful journey for Shomo, who has never shied away from sharing his demons in his music and with his fans. However, the frontman has turned a corner with a more optimistic outlook and demonstrates exceptional growth as both an artist and a human being through the songs that comprise the album.

Today, the band has shared the video for new track "
Doubt Me." Watch it below.

The footage captures Beartooth in their most natural state — performing live and unleashed on their instruments with ferocious abandon!

"We all have our own struggles that we deal with quietly," says Shomo. "Sometimes, it can be hard to explain to the people around you what you're dealing with. What may be perceived by others as weakness is actually a battle with yourself that you know will be conquered. Being in the thick of serious change is never easy, and being brought down by those who don't understand can add to the weight. Know that when you're in those moments, sometimes you need to just put your head down and fight with all you have, regardless of whatever people say you're capable of at the moment."

The first single "Might Love Myself" has stormed out the gates and is proving itself to be a hit, as the fastest moving song on the active rock radio charts in the band's history, landing in the Top 20 within three weeks.

Additionally, all previously released tracks — "Riptide," "Sunshine!," and "Might Love Myself" have tallied nearly 50 million total streams thus far.

ABOUT BEARTOOTH:
Caleb Shomo first turned the pain of his struggle with mental health and self-image into music in 2013. Beartooth began as a living document, a diary, a journal of repressed rage and depression. Alone in his basement studio, screaming and singing, playing all the instruments, and self-producing a batch of furious but melodic songs filled with reflection and confession, the Ohio native stared into the abyss, initially with no intention of returning to the heavy music world that burned him as a teen. A decade later, the different pieces of his body of work connect in title, sound, and spirit. As the frontman hits 30, Beartooth’s fifth album, he Surface, completes this era in 2023. Even more importantly, it kicks off a new chapter filled with surprising optimism and just as honest. Depression is a sick, disgusting, aggressive disease below the surface. Shomo stands ready to bask in the light.

Like Nine Inch Nails, Beartooth remains a one-person band in the studio. On the heels of the introductory Sick EP (2013), Disgusting (2014) produced the band's first Gold single, "In Between." Aggressive (2016) and Disease (2018) expanded on the desperation and pain, each a step closer to a balance between the blood and tears of classic recordings and the shimmer of modernity.

Rolling Stone heralded Beartooth as one of 10 Artists You Need to Know. The rabid response to Shomo's music demonstrated how many people related to his struggle for self-acceptance. Below (2021) topped the Rock and Alternative charts and several Best Rock/Metal Albums of the Year lists. As of 2023, the Beartooth catalog boasts more than 1 billion streams across all platforms.

Beartooth began as both bomb and balm, an outright refusal to suffer in silence, weaponizing radio-ready bombast, delivering raw emotion mixed with noise-rock chaos. Other bands play the "devastating riffs and catchy hooks" game, but this music is the difference between life and death, and now, a sort of life after death while still here. The band Forbes sees "inching towards a tipping point of becoming the latest arena headliner" is now one step closer.

About EXMORTUS:

Los Angeles-based neo-classical extreme metal mavens Exmortus return on new album, Necrophony. Four years in the making, the group’s sixth album offers nothing but savage rebirth and fierce renewal. "Necrophony" marks a significant turning point—one foretold by the Legions of the Undead EP in 2019—for the Angelenos. Not only have they emerged from the throes of the pandemic stronger, faster and crazier, they’ve signed on to global metal powerhouse Nuclear Blast. The passion and fury of lead-off single ‘Oathbreaker’ is merely the tip of Exmortus’ darkest tower. Follow-on singles like the powerful ‘Mind of Metal’ and ‘Storm of Strings,’ a whistle-stop, no-joke cover of Greek-American composer Yanni interpreting Vivaldi’s ‘The Four Seasons,’ add greatly to Exmortus’ masterly oeuvre.

Exmortus was founded in 2002. The group issued a bevy of well-received demos and EPs that culminated in debut In Hatred’s Flame in 2008. Since then, Gonzalez—now flanked by specialists Phillip Nuñez (bass), Chase Becker (guitars, Warbringer), and Adrian Aguilar (drums, Vio-lence)—has gone on to release four more fan-favorite full-lengths. Exmortus have toured with Amon Amarth, Obituary, Death Angel, and more, playing gigs in North America and Europe. The group’s highlights have also included a stint with thrash legends Exodus at industry lighthouse event NAMM and a coveted spot on the 70000 Tons of Metal cruise. Necrophony, a portmanteau of “necro” and “phony” (or “dead sounds”), is Exmortus bigger, badder and wickedly restless.

Written from a fresh slate, Necrophony’s origins can be traced to preludes ‘Masquerade,’ ‘Overture,’ and the intro to ‘Children of the Night.’ Once Exmortus had the feel down, they settled on expanding on the motifs by forging Viennese sophistication with metal might. Careful observers will hear Exmortus’ clever use of the album’s musical theme throughout its 12-song range. That includes “Darkest of Knights” and the aforementioned “Children of the Night,” as well as Necrophony’s shorter bursts of bravado in ‘Oathbreaker’ and ‘Beyond the Grave.’ The most important attributes were, however, vibe and Exmortus’ careful crafting of their next-gen sonic fingerprint.

Whereas previous albums up through 2018’s The Sound of Steel have been predicated on heroic fantasy/sword & sorcery, "Necrophony" turns a decidedly darker page. Exmortus have gone from a "Conan the Barbarian" and "Gladiator" aesthetic to something blacker, more nefarious as illustrated by the eeriest and evilest Lovecraftian and Tolkien-esque tales. There’s even a classic horror thing happening. This is, of course, a reflection of our immediate world, and the darkness that’s engulfing everything in it.

Exmortus invited Renaissance man Zack Ohren (Fallujah, Immolation) to return as engineer, producer, mixer and mastering ace on Necrophony. Certainly, the team that had cemented the group’s three previous albums into the annals of metaldom was going to work yet again. With Ohren at the helm, Exmortus holed up in Sharkbite Studios in Oakland, CA. Necrophony was fast-tracked in just under two weeks. The result is a clap of virtuosic metal sure to leave fans battered, bloodied, and hungry for more violent opulence.

With ‘Oathbreaker,’ ‘Mind of Metal’ and ‘Storm of Strings’ ringing darkened ears Exmortus’ paroxysmal ascent to extreme metal’s upper echelons is guaranteed with Necrophony. Bow in reverence to the high-flying, six-stringed dynasts now.

Heart Of A Coward Share Video For "Surrender To Failure"

NEW ALBUM THIS PLACE ONLY BRINGS DEATH OUT SEPTEMBER 22 VIA ARISING EMPIRE

British heavyweights Heart Of A Coward have started pre-orders for their new album This Place Only Brings Death, set for release on September 22 via Arising Empire.

Today, Heart of A Coward present their brand new single "Surrender To Failure," delving deep into themes of despair, internal struggle, and self-doubt.

Watch the video
below.

Heart Of A Coward's newest album takes a bold, accessible turn, drawing heavily from metalcore influences as opposed to their previous leanings towards the progressive.

The album contemplates the inevitable theme of everything coming to an end, which is a sobering reality.

Heart Of A Coward released their debut album, Hope and Hindrance, in 2012, which received critical acclaim and helped establish the band's sound and style. They have since released several other albums — including Severance (2013), Deliverance (2015), and The Disconnect (2019).

This Place Only Brings Death will be available as CD, limited colored vinyl, and other unique merch options at the Arising Empire Store, band's shop and many other online retailers!

Pre-order/save This Place Only Brings Death
here.

Archetypes Collide Share "Fade Away" Video

Arizona upstarts ARCHETYPES COLLIDE — Kyle Pastor (vocals), Brandon Baker and Jared Knister (guitars), Ky Sanders (bass), and Tyler Flamm(drums) — quickly established themselves as a band unafraid to blur the lines between safety and innovation in heavy music. Soaring vocals, melodies, and heavy grooves swirl with passion and precision. The band dropped its self-titled debut on March 31 via Fearless Records. Get it here

Fresh off a tour with Beartooth and Trivium in the spring, the band is returning to the road this fall with We Came as Romans, Emmure, and Bodysnatcher. All dates are below.

Archetypes Collide have also shared the video for "Fade Away." Watch the performance-driven video, which offers a taste of what to expect when the band hits the road.

"Life can leave you feeling like the only way to succeed is to continually grind until you drive yourself into the ground," Pastor shares. "'Fade Away' is for those that feel like they're burning at both ends just to make it to tomorrow."

Pastor continues, "'Fade Away' is all about capturing that day-to-day (more often 'night-to-night,' if Im being honest) vibes of the touring life. Sleepless nights, blurring days, the grind of traveling, and being away from family and loved ones to pursue the dream. It's a crazy balancing act that can slowly start to wear on you if you're not careful to keep your priorities straight."

ABOUT ARCHETYPES COLLIDE:
ARCHETYPES COLLIDE demand repeated listening, mixing everything from Linkin Park and Bring Me The Horizon to The Chainsmokers, and Stranger Things-style retro synths, into a unique musical identity. A collection of singles and EPs drew a devoted fanbase and the attention of Oshie Bichar, bassist for Beartooth. Bichar enlisted his management, and the pair took Archetypes Collide under their wing. Soon after, SiriusXM's Octane got behind songs like "Your Misery," "Becoming What I Hate," and "Above It All." The band appeared on major festivals like Aftershock, Louder Than Life, and Welcome To Rockville, toured with genre giants The Amity Affliction, and crafted an ambitious self-titled debut album for Fearless Records. Archetypes Collide spent several weeks in the first part of 2022 making their inaugural full-length, with a super team surrounding them to execute their vision. Bichar produced alongside Nick Ingram (Dayseeker, Convictions, Hawthorne Heights) at Capital House Studio in Ohio. Additional production came from Jon Eberhard (Skillet, I Prevail, Until I Wake); The Plot In You frontman Landon Tewers lent a creative hand as well. The resulting album, mixed by Jeff Dunne (Ice Nine Kills, Wage War, Make Them Suffer), captures the vibrant spirit of the 2010s-era Warped Tour with a postmodern edge. It's a diverse but singular mission statement, brimming with authenticity and hope. ARCHETYPES COLLIDE aren't bound by preconceived notions or limitations. As single Kyle Pastor explains simply: "Why not take every shot, in every direction, under the umbrella of hard rock and metal?"

FLEISCHKRIEG Release Official Lyric Video for Dark, Re-imagined New Single, "Bloody Prophets II"!

US based, Neue Deutsche Härte, Industrial Rock band FLEISCHKRIEG has released the official music video for their new single, "Bloody Prophets II". Produced by LOGAN MADER(MACHINE HEAD, ONCE HUMAN), "Bloody Prophets II" is the first single off of the band's upcoming album (release date TBA), Still Beating: Herzblut II, a reproduction of the quartet's debut album, Herzblut, with the addition of two new tracks.

“A post-apocalyptic anthem with driving guitars and danceable synths, 'Bloody Prophets' is a song about the irony of how our saviors of old all promised eternal life only to die grisly, untimely deaths of their own. I wrote an early version of the song after spending several weeks suffering from intense alien abduction nightmares. Looking for help from spiritual sources, it dawned on me that those who promised eternal life in paradise suffered miserable deaths in the real world. - RICHARD CRANOR(Vocals)

“Playing with MUSHROOMHEAD is a dream come true. MUSHROOMHEAD has been a strong influence of mine for over 20 years. They were one of the reasons I decided to start playing seven-string guitars and dabbling with Industrial music. Now I get to share the stage with them. Even the same stage where I first saw them in Cincinnati back in 2002!" - THOMAS CRAWFORD (Guitar)

Additional Tour, RSVP, & Ticketing Info

If Hell hosted a dance party - FLEISCHKRIEG would be the headliner. The band’s retro synths and crushing guitars of “BrutalWave” deliver a bold new take on heavy electronic music. Their debut album, Herzblut, is steeled in melodic synth, metal guitars, and apocalyptic vocals, packing a heavy enough punch to keep any fan of industrial rock music listening from beginning to end.

FLEISCHKRIEG is the result of a chance encounter between an Uberdriver and a drunk passenger partying in Seattle. The driver, RICHARD CRANOR, and the passenger, THOMAS CRAWFORD, found themselves kindred spirits through a mutual love of RAMMSTEIN and industrial metal. When the opening act dropped out of THOMAS’s solo CERAPHYM show, he invited RICHARD to perform in their place. RICHARD agreed with the caveat that THOMAS play guitars, and FLEISCHKRIEG was formed.

The group, currently based in Las Vegas, cite RAMMSTEIN, DIE KRUPPS, and LORD OF THE LOST as musical influences. Their moody electronic sound melds industrial metal with darkwave undertones, creating the genre of “Brutalwave”: a blend of new wave, metal guitars, and crushing industrial dance beats and vocals. Now with the addition of NICK MASON on Drums and KAYLIE CORTEZon synth/keyboards, FLEISCHKRIEG’s live shows are a force to be reckoned with.

FLEISCHKRIEG is:
RICHARD “DER EISMAN' CRANOR - Vocals, Synths
THOMAS CRAWFORD 'CERAPHYM' - Guitar
NICK MASON “LIVING DEAD DRUMMER” - Drums
KAYLIE CORTEZ 'NUDA' - Keyboards
ERIC BERGEN “ZERO” - BASS

JASON ALDEAN ANNOUNCES 11th STUDIO ALBUM, HIGHWAY DESPERADO, OUT NOVEMBER 3rd

With 27 number one singles, 17 billion streams and 20 million albums sold, reigning ACM Artist of the Decade Jason Aldean today announced his highly-anticipated 11th studio album, HIGHWAY DESPERADO, will be released November 3rd. The album is available for pre-save/pre-add now, including exclusive pre-order packages here.

Aldean shared the inspiration for the album’s title came from his latest sold-out headlining arena tour, as well as his early days as an artist. “I think when I look back on it, I built my career early on my live show, and have been on the road touring since I was 18 years old. For us, touring is our favorite part. Getting on the bus and going town to town and playing our shows and doing our thing and seeing the fans… the title for the tour and album was really inspired from that,” shared Aldean, adding that it also served as inspiration for the album’s title track, which he co-wrote.

HIGHWAY DESPERADO features fourteen total tracks, including Aldean’s breakthrough Hot 100 chart-topping single and current Top 10 Country radio hit, “Try That In A Small Town,” which has more than 120M Global streams to date. The album also features the newly released track “Let Your Boys Be Country,” as well as three tracks co-written by Aldean. The 3X ACM Entertainer of the Year winner first introduced new music from the album in May with the release of the fan-appreciation anthem,
“Tough Crowd,” at this year’s ACM Awards, where Aldean was an Entertainer of the Year nominee. Released today as another preview of new music to come, “Let Your Boys Be Country” was written by Jaron Boyer, Allison Veltz Cruz, and Micah Wilshire and is available here

The album marks the first new music since Aldean’s 10th studio project, the double album
MACON, GEORGIA, which earned praise from Rolling Stone, Stereogum, The Tennessean, Entertainment Tonight, E! News and more.  The album earned Aldean his 27th career-charting #1 single, "Trouble With A Heartbreak,” as well as a Billboard Music Award nomination for “Top Country Song” and awards from ACM, CMT, iHeart, and a GRAMMY nomination for “If I Didn’t Love You” with Carrie Underwood. Since making his chart debut in 2005, the Georgia native has earned the most Top 10 songs on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart - more than any other artist - his “songs of small-town living, love and loss have resonated with a loyal fanbase” (Billboard) and have “vaulted him to the pinnacle of Country music success” (Atlanta Journal Constitution). His current tour of the same name continues this evening in Jacksonville, Florida before heading to Orange Beach, AL. For more information on Jason Aldean including additional tour dates and new music, visit www.JasonAldean.com.

Chicago's Evidence of a Struggle presents 'Keep It', pushback against all things harmful

"Wonderfully cinematic, forward-thinking, open-minded, genre-hopping, rule-breaking... a symphony of sonics, subtlety and suppleness, and of the subverting of expectations" ~ Big Takeover Magazine

"'Keep It' is a relentless prowl of low rumbling concrete scattered with the glass shards of guitar and keyboards. The controlled chaos of the instrumentation is in slow motion and the song maintains both an epic feel as well as the queasy sense of being drunk and disorientated in an dystopian landscape" ~ Joyzine

"Fascinating... This melodic journey expertly fuses the innovative textures of art rock with the insurgent spirit of alternative music... a complex and immersive auditory universe" ~ Post-Punk.com

"'Combines the coolness of electric jazz, Krautrock-inspired post-rock and atmospheric art rock... a gripping and upbeat, yet refined, sound and thoughtful arrangement with sonic prowess" ~ Amplify Music Magazine

"Chaotic and lovely" ~ Punk Rock Beat

Chicago-based artist
Evidence of a Struggle presents the new video for 'Keep It', a wonderful spoken-word meets post-rock clash from his primarily instrumental eponymous album.  His debut offering, this 13-track collection takes the listener on a great instrumental journey, blending numerous sub-genres spanning the art rock and alternative music realm.

Surrounding the musings of multi-instrumentalist William P C Simmons V a.k.a.
Rev. Billy Simmons, Evidence of a Struggle creates lush, cinematic, beautiful and sometimes chaotic compositions.

"This is the only song on the record with words attached. I wanted the music to stand on its own for this album. I’ve been acutely aware for a long time that we’re not really listening, not seeing, and it really doesn’t have anything to do with my music or John’s artwork, but we - most of us - don’t see or hear each other, nature or our bodies. We employ so many outside elements to help us ignore all those things right in front of us that are harmful, uncomfortable, and damaging," says Rev Billy.

"The words at the end of this song all start with STOP! The animations say STOP! We try to blame everything happening on the pandemic, politics, or anyone or anything but ourselves when we all need to look in the mirror and realize we are all living in a dream and really need to STOP and wake up."

Launched in 2020 during lockdowns, this ambitious effort sees Rev. Billy play every instrument – guitar, drums, piano, synth and violin - recorded and engineered from his home studio, The Glue Factory. Once Covid restrictions were lifted, renowned sound engineer Sanford Parker (Voivod, Russian Circles, Yob, Eyehategod, Wovenhand, Darkthrone, Youth Code, Pelican) helped produce, record and master the final versions of these songs.

The album is complemented by an audio-visual storybook, created by Chicago artist
John Airo. To date, short films have been shared for the cinematic single 'Do'Oa' (a wonderful fusion of Tortoise and Dif Juz), 'Alan's Song' (the sound of fear, beauty and hubris), 'Bisquee' with its engaging off-kilter post-rock, 'Bassakards' (about longing and loss), and the album's high-octane 'Sal-E'.

Having collaborated with RCA artist Ké and artists on major like RCA, Touch and Go, BMG and Universal, it is no surprise that Evidence of a Struggle would evolve. They are also recording their next album with drummer
Matt Walker (of1000faces, Smashing Pumpkins, Morrissey, Garbage, Filter) and bassist Alan Berliant (Chris Connelly, Mavis Staples, Saint Asonia) with production support from Solomon Walker (Morrissey, Bryan Adams, Eastern Shadows, Year of the Rabbit).

Apart from music, Rev. Billy also owns
Rev. Billy's Chop Shop, also known as an inclusive, creative space, hosting new artists' work bimonthly and declared by Chicago Reader as the city's best gallery in 2019. Rev. Billy's Chop Shop is as strong a passion as his music.

The 'Evidence of a Struggle' album is out now and is available via
SpotifyApple Music and Bandcamp.

German post-punk indie rock duo PARA LIA presents 'In Clash With The Zeitgeist' album

“J Mascis style guitar works alongside sharply defined songwriting, with elements of The Cure in their late 80s pomp” ~ Clash Magazine

"The embers of Arcade Fire and The Mission with a more pop bent... Listen on repeat to invigorate your day" ~ Big Takeover Magazine

"Superior in their own-right without reinventing the wheels of the past" ~ Skope Magazine

"Captivates immediately and guides you through the theatric, robust vocals"~ Imperfect Fifth

Alternative rock / post-punk duo
Para Lia present  their new album 'In Clash With The Zeitgeist', an 11-track offering of post-punk and indie rock delight, released via the Berlin label About Us Records.

Para Lia is multi-instrumentalist René Methner and vocalist Cindy Methner, who ignore the zeitgeist of this day to create music that is far from mainstream. This album sees them blend their love for late 80’s and early 90’s indie rock with psychedelic, garage rock, 60’s influences, and early prog rock elements.

Mastered by
Thommy Hein (Die Ärzte, Nina Hagen, Udo Lindenberg) at Tonstudios Berlin and self-recorded and produced at their home studio in Cottbus, Germany, 'In Clash With The Zeitgeist' sees Para Lia grow on yet another level with the band expanding from two members to six with an eye towards upcoming live performances.

Earlier, the duo recently released the single 'C'est La Vie', following the driving lead single 'Sunchild' with its positive energy and the single 'Yellow Rose', a melodic dream-rock composition reflecting reverence of life.

"We think this album sounds exactly the way it should and we are very happy with it. It was a pleasure to join Thommy Hein in his Berlin studio for the mastering of the tracks and we love the sound we created. We added an extra dose of 60’s feel and garage and psych rock elements to the indie rock guitar sound and we think we cooked a tasty kind of rock soup. If we had to describe the album we would call it: psychalovic!" says René Methner.

"Oh tempora, oh mores, der Zeitgeist ist nur Kokolores' - we chose this quote from German Aphorist Erhard Blanck (printed on the sleeve of the vinyl) because we think it illustrates very well the character of the album."

The duo debuted with the
'Soap Bubble Dreams' album in 2019, followed by 'Gone With The Flow', involving artists from the USA, Canada and the UK, not to mention a collaborative interactive art exhibition with painter Louis Renzoni.

As of August 25, 'In Clash With The Zeitgeist' will be available digitally
across fine music platforms, including Apple MusicSpotify and Bandcamp. where it will also be available on vinyl.

OCEANS - Release New Single 'Chop Suey'!

OCEANS are back with their first new music since the release of their second studio album Hell Is Where The Heart Is last November! The German nu-metal band proudly presents their latest single 'Chop Suey', a cover of the SYSTEM OF A DOWN classic. As you would expect, the Germans have put their own stamp on the song, creating a darker version of the legendary track as they pay tribute to their roots.

Along with the release of their new single, OCEANS also deliver a new behind-the-scenes video, which you can witness below:

Timo Rotten comments:

“Toxicity was one of my favorite albums when it came out, but I hadn't heard it in a while. Then Thomas dug it up again a few weeks ago and the question immediately came to my mind: How would this sound with growls? And whether I could do it at all. We just had to try it out. Did I get it right? I think you have to decide for yourselves.”

About:

Ever since their inception, up-and-coming German outfit OCEANS have dropped jaws everywhere they went. With a unique sound that sits somewhere between nu-metal, progressive, post, and death metal and putting mental health at the top of their agenda, the four-piece quickly became a known constant in today’s metal landscape. OCEANS have become known for their inclination towards innovation and experimentation within their genre; covering songs by the likes of Alessia Cara and collaborating with prominent musicians such as MACHINE HEAD’s Robb Flynn and CALIBAN’s Andy Dörner amongst others. Having released two EPs in 2019, their debut album in 2020, and another EP in 2021, the band featuring visionary mastermind Timo Rotten can easily be described as one of Europe’s hardest and fastest-working bands in the genre. Enter 2022 and OCEANS have already proved that they’re set to continue on their upwards trajectory with the release of their trilogy Hell Is Where The Heart Is - Part I: Love, its follow-up Hell Is Where The Heart Is - Part II: Longing and Hell Is Where The Heart Is - Part III: Clarity, which together form their second album Hell Is Where The Heart Is.

Kallias guitarist and vocalist Nicole Papastavrou comments, "'Irrational Fear’ showcases the iconic Jeff Loomis, who has been a big influence to us since the beginning. The song kicks off our new album ‘First Ascent’ which releases Aug 25. Our approach with 'Irrational Fear' was to incorporate a more melodic feel compiled over heavier layers and more traditional song structure. We hope you all enjoy this opener to the new record!"

Kallias is comprised of players who are masters of their craft. Nicole Papastavrou's solid history of songwriting and tight rhythms paired with Colin Cook's jazzy and technical leads are the perfect compliment. JP Andrade's undeniably precise percussion serves the music on every level, from jazz-influenced melodic sections to satisfyingly odd rhythms for the eager prog-loving ear. Beautifully woven bass lines by Chris Marrone provide an indomitable structure and embrace for each instrument — never overpowering, yet always highlighting.

For modern day prog and metal fans, Kallias can be compared to bands such as Opeth, Meshuggah, and Decapitated. The quartet holds a musical chemistry that is few and far between and that will keep you in the foreground from the beginning with bone-chilling introductions. This is by no means background music. Kallias creates their own genre for a panoramic audio experience that demands the listener's undivided attention to focus and feel.

Silent Planet Announce "SUPERBLOOM" Album + Share "Collider" Video

California metal band SILENT PLANET have announced their new album SUPERBLOOM. It arrives November 3 via Solid State Records. Pre-order it here.

The release date is significant for the band, as it arrives on the anniversary of their horrific van accident.

Today, the band has shared the music video for "
Collider." Watch it below.

"Take all the darkness. All the vitriol, the greed and the vanity; lay it again as dust. Everything can be alchemized. This song is called 'Collider,'" says singer Garrett Russell. "It's about what comes out of our lives when the people we trust and hold closest are the ones who can hurt or betray us the worst. We don't have to run from the pain or be afraid. The dark gives us the energy to make something beautiful. The song is about alchemizing the darkness and transforming its negative properties."

When the band dropped "Antimatter," Revolver enthused, "Silent Planet's new single begins with throbbing electronic pulsations and robotic clean croons, making you think that you're in for a clubby pop song. Nope. The djent instrumentation comes crashing through, and eventually the whole song builds up to a screamed chant that blends poledance-worthy synths with rigid, toe-stubbing breakdowns. Fuck yes."

"A SUPERBLOOM is this strange moment where brilliant fauna spring forth unexpectedly and bring forth such an array of colors, it almost feels alien in origin," Garrett notes. "It only lasts for a couple of weeks before it’s gone. While we were recording, the SUPERBLOOM was happening. For me, the record is getting in touch with the other side and watching the strange and paranormal emerge from the mundane and profane, hence the title."

Silent Planet has consistently transfixed a diehard fanbase. The group dropped a string of acclaimed albums, including The Night God Slept [2014], Everything Was Sound [2016], When The End Began [2018], and Iridescent [2021]. Album standout "Trilogy" generated 5.3 million Spotify streams to sit alongside their genre-bending triumph "Panic Room" from the 2016 release, currently at 5 million. The guys notably took home "Best Underground Band" at the 2017 Alternative Press Music Awards and toured with the likes of Motionless In White, August Burns Red, Beartooth, and The Contortionist.

Over the course of two years, they recorded what would become SUPERBLOOMin Woodland Hills, CA alongside longtime producer and frequent collaborator Daniel Braunstein. A jarring turn of events split the process into two seasons. Trekking through a Wyoming snowstorm in November 2022, Silent Planet survived a vehicle accident. The van flipped over, leaving the group laying in the wreckage of a bitter Wyoming snowstorm as Garrett was hospitalized with a fractured back and head wound requiring stitches.

"The majority of us were awake when we felt the van start to slide," he says. "We had some time to come to grips with the fact we were about to go down and have a close brush with death. Afterwards, we talked about what to do with the band. We went back into the record with an increased willingness to take risks. It bolstered our confidence to try new things. When the accident happened, it did something to my head, and it fed into the album."

Along the way, they settled on a conceptual framework, expanding the scope of their vision like never before. "I grew up in Northern California," he continues. "There's a strip of the state known as Humboldt County, but it's called the 'Lost Cove.' It's a hotbed for strange and paranormal events like UFO and Big Foot sightings. There's so much we haven't uncovered. It's possible our reality as we know it is not complete. We started telling the tale of a 17-year-old who went missing. It's based on a true story with many details changed. Art dictates reality, and reality dictates art. Making this record was a very strange and mystical process. It's the most magical and inspired moment of our career so far."

Silent Planet will return to the road this September, supporting Dayseeker. All dates are below, including Silent Planet headline shows.

Polaris Share "Overflow" Video

POLARIS SHARE NEW VIDEO FOR NEW SINGLE "OVERFLOW"

NEW ALBUM FATALISM OUT SEPTEMBER 1 VIA SHARPTONE RECORDS

Ahead of the release of their impending new album Fatalism, due out on September 1 via Resist Records in Australia and SharpTone Records for the rest of the world, Sydney melodic metalcore outfit Polaris have today unveiled the video for the captivating new single "
Overflow."

Watch the music video for
below.

(WARNING: Viewers are advised that the following video contains images of Ryan Siew.)

Boasting translucent melodics, smuldering guitars, and emphatic vocals, "Overflow" is an immersive and layered outing that detonates heavier moments alongside more serene terrain, expanding the band's creative palette with alternative rock contours and deeply raw thematics.

"This is one of the much more personal and vulnerable tracks on the record lyrically, whereas the other two singles took a wider, more outward perspective," shares drummer and lyricist Daniel Furnari. "I feel like the meaning of the song is fairly self-explanatory, and I think a lot of people will naturally interpret it through the lens of their own experiences. But essentially, for me, it's about the struggle of fighting off a panic attack and the impact of that struggle on others."

As with Fatalism's previous singles, "Inhumane" and "Nightmare," "Overflow" emerged during the band's 2022 writing session in the Blue Mountains, with the alt rock leanings beating at the core of the latest track organically emerging from some of Polaris' own personal listening repertoire.

"'Overflow' was another track that came about from one of our writing retreats, so I guess that system was really paying off at this point," Furnari shares. "We were pretty deep into the process at this point, I think this was actually the final track to make it onto the record. Jake had been pumping out simple chord sequences in an effort to break away from the busier, riffier stuff we'd been writing, and Ryan came in with this super catchy sliding lead over the top, which became the basis for the chorus and the central motif of the song. Stylistically, where Inhumane explored a sort of nu-metal direction and Nightmare was a straight up metalcore track in the truest sense, I’d say 'Overflow' is much more of an alt-rock track."

Touching on the evolution of "Overflow," Furnari reveals, "I think my favorite part of this song is the direction the second verse takes, particularly when it picks up the energy for a moment. Rick wrote this verse development that really leaned into the sound of bands like Basement and Balance & Composure, which we both love, so it's always satisfying when we find a way to somehow incorporate that alongside the heavier stuff that we more regularly do. Finding a way to get a big heavy section into this song without it feeling out of place was also a challenge and I love that we managed to shape this combination of sliding powerchord accents, crazy programming and bass and drum moments into a type of breakdown we hadn't accomplished before."

Fear: humanity's great divider, but also its most potent unifier. It's this very notion that lies at the beating core of Polaris' third album Fatalism; a record shaped by the sense of despair and dystopia that engulfed the world over the past few years, and the overwhelming accompanying sensation that we were powerless to change course.

Polaris have already firmly established their place as a fixture in the Australian heavy landscape via their first two albums, the ARIA-nominated The Death Of Me and 2017's The Mortal Coil, which debuted in the Australian Top 10. They have been awarded a laundry list of accolades, album of the year mentions in end of year lists, sold-out countless headline tours of Australia, and have toured across the globe. Not to mention performing at Download Festival, Unify Gathering in Australia, headlining Knight & Day Festival, and most recently performing the 2022 Good Things Festival headlined by Bring Me The Horizon.
