Ovtlier announced they will be hitting the road this summer with Any Given Sin and Shallow Side on The Sinful Side Tour. The tour will kick off on August 9th in Cincinnati, OH at Madison Live and conclude on August 26th in Johnson City, TN at Capones.

The band recently teamed up with SiriusXM Octane for the exclusive world premiere of their latest single "Heartless". The single released to all major platforms along with the official music video that was directed by Tom Flynn . Tom has worked with artists such as All That Remains, Body Count, 10 Years, and more.

The Devil's Trade release title track off forthcoming album!

THE DEVIL'S TRADE is proud to unveil the title track off upcoming new album 'Vidékek vannak idebenn', which finds singer-songwriter Dávid Makó and his new bandmates leaning into a more dynamic, heavier sound.

"Vidékek vannak idebenn" is dark and ominous, roiling with fierce electric guitar and booming electronic percussion. It's now streaming on all digital platforms HERE.

It is of no surprise liminal space is a key element in the next phase of The Devil’s Trade’s fourth album, ’Vidékek vannak idebenn’ (a title that loosely translates to ’There Are Landscapes Within’) as Dávid Makó, the man behind the moniker has indeed arrived to a threshold in his career, where the phase starting with his self-released debut ’Those Miles We Walked Alone’ ended after his latest album ’The Call of the Iron Peak’. The concept of liminal space itself is a not necessarily pleasant state of mind where you left behind your old life, but new doors haven’t exactly opened just yet. 

As Makó states ’The process my first three records pieced together ended, that was no path for me to take anymore, but to take a step forward I had to make decisions I wasn’t inspired enough to make.’ – and from this frustrated, sort of paralyzed state of floating, a new incarnation of The Devil’s Trade was born and so was ‘Vidékek vannak idebenn’ along with it.

While still true to his solo artist roots, delivering gut-wrenching melodies of darkness and beauty on his own, Makó needed an expansion to his universe. With the addition of long-time friend and former bandmate Gáspár Binder on drums and a live keyboard player, he finally took the much needed step forward and ‘Vidékek vannak idebenn’ portrays the next sonic phase of The Devil’s Trade.

A soundtrack to the next phase of his life. A soundtrack to souls stuck in liminal space, hungry to adapt to new realities and to grow further, outside the boundaries which so often shackle them.

The Los Angeles-based grunge trio, Return to Dust, have today announced a reimagined acoustic version of their debut single titled, "Black Road (Unplugged)". Fans can stream "Black Road (Unplugged)" here.

Speaking on today's release, co-vocalist Matty Joseph shares:

"Having played an entirely acoustic show last week, it was a blast reimagining our whole set (and some new material) in that light. Return to Dust has always felt like a hidden gem, a band that could have fallen straight from the 90’s, but stands proudly among the musical landscape of today. OMEGA INFINITY Shares Genesis Cover, ft. Eklatanz of HERETOIR

Right in time for the 40th anniversary of the self-titled album of one of the greatest Prog Rock bands of all time - GENESIS (THE best, if you ask multi-instrumentalist Tentakel P.) - void metal outfit OMEGA INFINITY presents their own take of the haunting opener to this album, "Mama." The song can be streamed HERE.

This song on air is one of the first musical memories Tentakel had, being only a toddler when this came out, but the eerie atmosphere branded itself into his cortex and not only cemented his everlasting love for GENESIS, but would also never leave his head and drove him to search for similar dark music, eventually leading to Black Metal – the rest is history, and several bands celebrating the style.

A leftover from the 'Solar Spectre' session and initially planned to be a second bonus track on the debut, this cover version suffered from one thing from the very beginning – finding the right guest vocalist. Several guests were asked & initially agreed to join the cosmic duo on their own take of GENESIS‘ number 1 single, but it seemed the track was jinxed – until Tentakel asked his good friend Eklatanz from fellow German Avantgarde Black Metallers HERETOIR. He delivered reliably and adds the much needed melodic factor to OMEGA INFINITY‘s blastizement of this song.

OMEGA INFINITY: The story of the endless cycle of birth and death told on a cosmic scale, being viewed from The Void that permeates the whole existence.
The debut album “Solar Spectre” (released in 2020 by Season Of Mist) created a dark and disturbing soundtrack for a journey through our own solar system, combining furious Black Metal of the 90‘s, harsh electronic and menacing ambient sounds with ancient growls and screams and gathered overwhelmingly positive press and fan response when it was first unleashed upon earth.

Not content with only one small statement and following their greater vision for The Void, Tentakel P. (TODTGELICHTER) and Xen (NE OBLIVISCARIS/ ANTIQVA) had already finished their sophomore album at that time, with only the pandemic preventing the vocal recordings and thus an earlier release. 

“The Anticurrent” unleashed a very different view of The Void unto the listener. Rather than the blackness of space, the second album explores Time: From the Big Bang and the chaotic birth of the universe, the album’s focus moves through the rise and fall of human civilisation, while zooming back out to a cosmic scale to witness the inevitable end of the universe in the menacing finale.

The song's lyrics also tease the narrative that will unfold within the Sanguivore narrative. Its references to blood lust, sex, cannibalism, and a human disguise hint at a new story of ill-fated love and corrosive lust — themes which burn throughout CREEPER's previous album concepts.

For the uninitiated, a sanguivore is an entity that needs to feast upon blood to survive.

"Cry To Heaven" is the latest result of CREEPER's collaboration with the twisted mind of producer Tom Dalgety (Ghost, Royal Blood, The Cult, Killing Joke).

The news comes as CREEPER are set to play the Heavy Music Awards at the OVO Wembley Arena tonight, where they're nominated for Best UK Artist, Best UK Live Artist and Best Single for "Ghost Brigade." Their previous accolades include landmark awards from Kerrang!, Metal Hammer and Rock Sound.

Completing the CREEPER line-up are founder members Ian Miles (guitar) and Sean Scott (bass) along with drummer Jake Fogarty.

The Noise Who Runs presents their latest single 'New York To L.A. In 2-And-A-Half Minutes', with its bleak but beautiful view. Its siren-like synth, pulsing bass riff and crackling drums underline the urgency of rhythmic energy, which contrasts with the bittersweet "be careful what you wish for" melancholy expressed in the melody and vocals. Here, the speed of travel is symbolic as the sign of progress that, like so many technologies, save us time at the expense of experience, possibilities and chance.

This is one of 14 tracks found on the duo's new ‘Preteretrospective’ album, the brainchild of Ian Pickering (of Sneaker Pimps and Front Line Assembly), who also co-authored such hits as 'Spin Spin Sugar', '6 Underground' and 'Tesko Suicide'. Upon relocating from northern England to France, Pickering formed The Noise Who Runs with Brazilian-French guitarist Felipe Goes.

This latest single was inspired by commentary by one of the scientists involved in the space probe observing the sun. Pickering says, “That line - ‘New York to L.A. in 2-and-a-half minutes’ - instantly just starts painting pictures of an insane future, good or bad, at a certain cost, which is now too much, gone too far, that maybe what matters is not just everything that we take for granted, but more everything that we’re always complaining and bellyaching about. From that line, it pretty much all fell together.”

"The opening line "to be the death of kings in words" partly alludes to the Biggie and Tupac story, which perhaps best sums up the iconic stature of the two cities embodying the very best and the worst of US culture, which have largely defined most of the 20th Century (from music and movies to technological and scientific breakthroughs). After that, it examines the relationship between a future where travel is all but instantaneous and the very human thing at stake in no longer having to make the journey."

Earlier, the duo previewed 'Beautiful Perhaps', 'Takes a Long Cold Look and Then The Kitchen Sink' and '2poor2die', blending the abrasive beauty of electric guitars and electronica.

The looped simplicity of ‘Off the Rails’ is followed by the pandemic-inspired songs 'Things Fall Apart' and 'Electronic Babysitter' and the wonderfully bizarre groove of 'Somewhere Between Dogs and Wolves', inspired by Ted Hughes’ poem ‘The dogs are eating your mother’.

'So Good It’s Free', 'Zoe’s Edible Garden' and '2poor2die' deliver the most direct and obvious lyrics on the album, addressing the growing inequality in society and the struggle of the unheard and unseen decent people, who are without voices and increasingly without hope.

The utopian optimism of 'So It Goes' leads to 'Under the Sun', a campfire song with balearic beats that recounts the aftermath of the revolution that should be coming and finally 'L’altruisme', a strangely disconcerting slice of electronic weirdness.

Pickering reminds us, "Nothing that gets done here is for our benefit, you can be sure about that. We might get some hand-me-down bouquet of barbed wire benefit from the next breakthrough technology, but there’s nothing altruistic involved. There’s no heartfelt intention, empathy or compassion behind any of it; it all starts and ends with power, money and profit.”

Movements Announce New Album 'RUCKUS!" + Share "Fail You" Video — WATCH

Southern California band MOVEMENTS — Patrick Miranda, vocals; Ira George, guitar; Spencer York, drums; and Austin Cressey, bass — have announced their new album, RUCKUS!, out August 18 via Fearless Records. Pre-order it here.

The album was produced by Will Yip. The band has spent the past several months flexing their creative muscles, pushing their sonic boundaries, and diligently working on new material.

Today, the band has shared the video for "Fail You." Watch it below.  

"Fail You" is all about the push and pull, the tension and release of the chunky guitar riffs, and percussive thrust that have come to define Movements. It's also propelled forward by the emotive vocals of Miranda, the choruses of which fans scream along to at shows — often louder than the band. The bouncy, urgent chorus here will undoubtedly have Movements fans jumping up and down in mosh pits coast to coast.

"'Fail You' has all the inner workings of a classic Movements track wrapped up in a shiny new package and served with a newer, more modern Movements sound," Miranda explains. "It's a song about the fear of letting someone down and losing someone you love — reliving the mistakes over and over again and being haunted by all of your wrongdoings. Fans of both the new and old sounds will find something to love with this one."

It's been a whirlwind few years for Movements as evidenced by the fact that band's 2020 album No Good Left to Give debuted at #3 on the Alternative chart and their streams have doubled since then with 200 million total streams in the U.S. alone. However, despite their success, the Southern Californian act have constantly reinvented themselves since forming in 2015 and the band's third full-length RUCKUS! sees the post-hardcore quartet taking their sound to expansive and sometimes unexpected places. Produced by longtime collaborator Will Yip (Circa Survive, Code Orange), the album fuses post-hardcore and punk influences with a healthy dose of pop songcraft to create an album that defies scene conventions in favor of something wholly unique. In order to accomplish this, the band made three extended trips to Yip's Studio 4 in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania, to write and record the collection of songs that would end up as RUCKUS! "I truly don't believe that it could have been a more streamlined process and I don't think we've ever written music that's as good as what we put together for this record," Miranda explains. RUCKUS! sees the band integrating decidedly different influences such as Gorillaz and Strokes into their sound to challenge people's preconceptions.

SINGER-SONGWRITER, HUNTER BLAIR AMBROSE RELEASES 1980s SYNTH-POP INSPIRED SINGLE, “RUNAWAY”

LA-based singer, songwriter and instrumentalist, Hunter Blair Ambrose, has released her single “Runaway,” today. Co-written by Hunter, “Runaway” is a dance-pop track written from the perspective of someone letting go of their past traumas and regrets to start anew. The title “Runaway” refers to running away from one’s past, but also running away from the vulnerability that new experiences and love forces us into. Hunter elaborates; “I

recently made a huge change in my life, moving cross country from New York to Los Angeles, and this song is fully inspired by that. Taking a chance on a new chapter, being afraid of all the possibilities of starting your life over. I know that moving across the country meant I’d have a fresh start when it comes to everything, new relationships, new friendships, new work opportunities, a new beginning.”

“Runaway” features an emotive vocal performance with danceable, electric production that echoes a retro 1980s synth pop influence with modern touches. “Runaway” showcases Hunter’s innate ability to craft personal narratives into a synth-pop 1980’s inspired hybrid. She sonically drew inspiration from The Weeknd’s album Dawn FM, but also synth-pop songs with 1980s production influences from artists like Majid Jordan, Zara Larsson, and SG Lewis. “Runaway” has a four on the floor dance beat, with an explosive chorus inspired by melodies and vocal stylings from Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande. Additionally, the single’s lyrics tell the story of someone losing themselves in music as an escape, but also fearing what could happen if they open themselves up to love again.

Hailing from New York, and currently residing in Los Angeles, Hunter Blair Ambrose began to display a profound love for the performing arts from her earliest years, starting at just 5 years old. What started as singing and studying music, turned into formal vocal lessons, piano training and continuing to study music and theater through grade school, high school and college. Hunter’s professional career in pop began at 17 years old under the mentorship of Grammy Award winning producer, Narada Michael Walden. After recording and co-writing her first tracks as a solo artist with Narada from 2013-2014, Hunter attended the Berklee College of Music. While studying there, she met several producers, writers, and engineers, eventually forming a core team to create her first studio EP and album Scorpio Rising (2020) and Scorpio Season (2021). ‘Fauna’ sees the band exploring new ideas conceptually as Ross continues. “The premise of the album when we started writing it was that every song would have an animal assigned to it. They all have something related to the animal kingdom that we could write about, but they also connect to the human world. Each track has layers, and some of them are more obvious than others.”

“It reminds me of The Mountain,” adds guitarist and fellow founder Richard Henshall. “There, we had the idea of not really a narrative-based album, but more the concept of climbing a mountain and overcoming the obstacles along the way. Then we took that and thought about how it could relate to our everyday lives. All of Fauna’s animals relate to us, personally.”

‘Fauna’ also marks the return of keyboard player Peter Jones, whose sounds can be heard permeating the entire album. “What Pete’s brought sonically to the band has played a massive role in why we do have a lot of new sounds on this record,” says Ross. “It’s always a new dynamic when there’s a change in personnel, and this is a fresh and reviving one. It’s certainly helped proximity-wise, with Pete being in the country: Pete and Ray [Hearne, Haken’s drummer] would be at Rich’s place and they’d just start jamming. That’s really key to how the songs start.”

An Iowa native and former The Voice contestant, Allen couldn’t be happier to be joining the ONErpm family. “After years of fighting against Alzheimer’s, I feel like it’s finally time to start having fun, and I believe it’s what my mother would want as well,” he says. “It’s awesome how God works and connects you with the right people at the right time. Allen is performing with a full band on Sunday, June 11, at 6 p.m. on the Hard Rock stage during CMA Music Fest week in Nashville. In addition to his appearance on NBC’s The Voice, Allen has recently been featured on ABC’sWorld News Tonight, PeopleTV, Pickler & Ben, and in People and Forbes magazines, among others. He was selected as The Highway Find on Sirius XM in 2017 with his song “Sounds Good to Me”; won the 2022 Country Now Awards as Favorite Competition Contestant; and was recognized as one of Music Mayhem magazine’s 2023 Artists to Watch.

Allen was also presented with the Alzheimer’s Association’s Caregiving Award in 2019. After seeing his mother suffer from the debilitating effects of Alzheimer’s, Allen wrote the moving tribute, “Blank Stares.” A video of him performing the song with his mother on stage in Iowa went viral, with over 500 million views on Facebook. His mother has since passed, but Allen continues to tour the country as an advocate for the Alzheimer’s Association, and the song has gone on to raise over $100 million to help fight the disease.

Long-serving employee Tommy Jones is promoted to the role of Label Manager, North America, which includes A&R responsibilities for the existing roster of Nuclear Blast America. Current A&R Jens Prueter will also take over a newly created role, as Head of Catalogue / Senior A&R.

Tommy Jones has been working with Nuclear Blast for 14 years, initially as an independent contractor before being made a permanent employee and relocating to Los Angeles amidst a successful campaign with Slayer in 2015. Through Tommy’s tenure at Nuclear Blast, he has worked in Digital Marketing, content creation and most recently was the Head of Operations, prior to transitioning to the Label Manager role for Nuclear Blast America. Tommy has relocated back to the East Coast and is strategically positioned in between NYC and Philadelphia, and in between Los Angeles and Nuclear Blast’s European offices.

A Biblical Worship of Violence was recorded at Bell Tower Studios - directly across the river from Buffalo, NY - home to hardcore juggernauts EVERY TIME I DIE. Davis Maxwell and the band were responsible for producing and engineering the record while Lance Prenc(ALPHA WOLF, POLARIS, VOID OF VISION) handled mixing and mastering. The album art/layout was created by Heavy Sleeper Co.

HORRENDOUS debut title track off new album

The progressive death metal band HORRENDOUS have finished their fifth studio album. Today, they're releasing the title track 'Ontological Mysterium'. The album will be released worldwide on August 18, 2023 and is now available for pre-order.

The album contains everything you'd expect from HORRENDOUS: technical proficiency, riffs that thrash and churn through a labyrinth of progressively twisted arrangements, charred vocals and melodic destruction.

"The album is our love letter to the bombastic spirit of heavy metal from the '80s and early '90s", says Matthew Knox, who plays guitar and also pitches in on vocals. 'Ontological Mysterium' is an allegorical tale of creation, the formation of organic life, and the inadvertently and ironically destructive fate of unbound growth and uncontrollable reproduction. It represents the wild voracity of youth and inevitable transition into the gradual decay of aging in its various forms, fulfilling the unbroken circle of a biological existence".

“Surprises always come up during writing — spontaneous ideas pull you into new territory and enable the realization of novel possibilities that previously were inaccessible.”

Such are the words from Horrendous drummer Jamie Knox when discussing the creation of the band’s fifth full-length, the highly anticipated 'Ontological Mysterium'. Knox’s quote also encapsulates Horrendous’s approach to extreme metal. Since 2009, the band has capably tapped into the inaccessible by providing a fresh, unconventional take on death metal that harnesses technical brilliance with elaborate, mind-melding melodies, frothy, spewing vocals and labyrinthine song structures. This combination has made each Horrendous long play a clinic in the gratifyingly unorthodox. The trend continues on Ontological Mysterium.

The follow-up to 2018’s Idol was recorded, mixed and mastered at Subterranean Watchtower Studios in Virginia, which doubles as the homestead of guitarist/vocalist Damian Herring. While the band (completed by guitarist/vocalist Matt Knox and bassist Alex Kulick) finished much of the songwriting for Ontological Mysterium in 2019, its recording was delayed by the 2020 global pandemic and various life events. Horrendous eventually finished recording in early 2022 and mastered the album before the start of 2023.

The album upholds Horrendous’s position as one of the underground’s best outside-of-the-box extreme metal bands. Having long abandoned concern whether people would appreciate their “uniqueness,” Horrendous has embraced its role as a band willing to veer far from death metal conventions, intentionally stretching and breaking norms. To wit, the band primarily views its music as filtered through a death metal lens. This may be Horrendous’s defining trait: By not accepting parameters, nothing is off-limits.

MACHINE HEAD’s new album, ØF KINGDØM AND CRØWN is a 13-track concept album set in a decimated futuristic wasteland where the sky is stained crimson red. The crux of the story is based on two main characters: 
 
Character #1 Ares: (pronounced Aries), our main, who loses the love of his life (Amethyst) and goes on a murderous rampage against the vile sect responsible for her murder.
 
Character #2 Eros: (pronounced Arrows) the perpetrator, who loses his mother to a drug overdose and becomes radicalized in the aftermath. Eros goes off the deep end manifesting his own killing spree. 

Plain White T's Drop New Song "Happy!" — LISTEN

Earlier this year, the Plain White T's shared the brand new single and video "Spaghetti Tattoo," an acoustic love song in which frontman Tom Higgenson recounts a memorable first date. The video finds the band appearing as puppets, with scenes that pay homage to famous moments from film history. Watch it here.

The Plain White T's new single "Happy! is a chill, and, well, happy track. Lyrically, it offers an optimistic take on getting through a rough patch and looking forward to the future when a bad situation inevitably improves! Ironically, the melodies and chords a melancholy as Higgenson declares, "I wanna be happy, happy, happy / What's the point of being sad? / I wanna feel good." It'll have you dancing like no one is watching.

"The thing I love about 'Happy' is that the lyrics are so optimistic and fun, but the chords and the melodies are so melancholy," Higgenson explains. "It's like, 'Ok, I know I'm going through something right now, but I just wanna get over it already and feel good again!' Like I know things are gonna get better, but I'm not quite there yet."
