Conquer Divide Announce New Album + Share "welcome2paradise" Video — WATCH

CONQUER DIVIDE — the international five-piece band hailing from the U.S., U.K., and Canada who have generated accolades from Octane, Revolver, Alternative Press, Modern Drummer, Loudwire, and more — have just announced their new album. Slow Burn will arrive September 8 via Mascot Records. Pre-order it here.

The band — vocalist Kiarely Taylor, bassist/vocalist Janel Duarte, guitarist Isabel Johnson, drummer Samantha Landa, and guitarist Kristen Sturgis— has also shared the video for new single "welcome2paradise." And it lets out a thunderous roar. Watch it below.

"This song is special to all of us for a lot of reasons," says Sturgis. "We really wanted to stretch our musical muscles and play around with time signatures. We recorded some of the production ourselves, including drilling sounds you'll hear sprinkled throughout the song. Artistically, we really stepped out of our comfort zone and we ended up with something really special."

The song also takes a close look at a very important topical issue.

"It's sad that humans don't care about our environment," Sturgis continues. "I was especially inspired by a situation close to my heart. I live on the Great Lakes, which contain 20% of the earth's freshwater. There is a 70-year-old pipeline called Line 5 that is in very rough shape and runs through the water where Lake Huron and Lake Michigan meet. The current is especially turbulent there. The pipeline keeps getting hit by boat anchors. I am not here to preach anti-fossil fuels, as electric vehicles come with their own environmental tolls, and touring bands have to drive gas-guzzling vehicles to play for our fans. But if a spill happened in that spot, it's in the worst possible place, due to the strong currents. A Great Lakes spill could affect major cities like Chicago, Detroit, Cleveland, Windsor, Toronto, and Rochester, NY. Tourism, fishing industries, and boating would all be affected. And with all of the droughts happening around the U.S., it's going to be everyone's problem soon. Right now, there's just one small local organization trying to draw attention to it, but If I can do anything with this song release, it would be to shine a spotlight on something I care so much about."

Landing on the Billboard charts, the band's 2015 self-titled debut racked up more than 30 million streams, driven by powerful tracks like the Kerrang! Awards Best Song nominee "At War." After a hiatus, CONQUER DIVIDE reemerged on the scene with the heavy and anthemic "Chemicals" in 2020, which Alternative Press called a "contender for best hard rock/metalcore crossover of the year."

The following year, "Messy" became the No. 1 Most Added on Billboard's Hard Rock Indicator Chart. Described by Rock Sound as a "monster" track "designed for arenas," "Paralyzed" offered the first taste of CONQUER DIVIDE's long-awaited sophomore album. Inspired by guitarist Kristen Sturgis' "harrowing experiences as a nurse amid the pandemic" (Revolver Magazine), the emotional and vulnerable "Paralyzed" was nominated by Metal Hammer for Best Metal Song of 2022. "FCKBOI," a collaboration with Electric Callboy, has been streamed over 13 million times on Spotify alone. They've had multiple singles on SXM Octane and were featured in the Next Wave Concert Series.

Slow Burn ushers in a new era for CONQUER DIVIDE, one defined by breathtaking sonic refinement, intensely personal lyrical storytelling, and a seamless balance between hard-hitting modern metal and irresistible melody. Slow Burn is stacked with confessional expressions of vulnerability, frustration, and, ultimately, hope. Each song on Slow Burn summons forth brand new levels of catharsis.

PhaseOne + RedHook Share "Gangrene" — LISTEN

PhaseOne has been turning heads over the past year with a series of EDM and metal scene collabs, paring with forward-thinking heavy bands ERRAPolaris, and Void of Vision to explosive effect.

Today, the EDM artist is taking an artistic left turn as he concludes his PhaseOne x UNFD mixtape project with "Gangrene." A gnarly, urgent audio rocket created in collaboration with fellow Australian act RedHook, "Gangrene" sets a frantic, breakneck DnB beat in contrasting lockstep with cutting guitars, shimmering synths andEmmy Mack's unique and  beguiling vocals and sweat-inducing percussion. It's heavy in a different way.

Listen here

"This was a fun one to work on," PhaseOne states. "RedHook sent me the original demo idea and I immediately started getting inspiration how to add some electronic elements to it and knew instantly it called for a DNB drop. I began working on an idea just using the original WAV file demo they sent me and I'm pretty sure I turned an idea in for them to hear that same day and they loved the vision."

He continues, "We then pretty quickly wrapped up the final recording stems, collaborating with a little back and forth before I wrapped up the mix and master. It was nice to write something more punk-poppy, as I've usually gone more of a metal route but I love the way it still seamlessly flows and intertwines the rock and electronic elements."

RedHook is equally as excited about the collab, sharing, "'Gangrene' is a song about severing ties with a toxic partner. Even though they might feel like they've become a part of you, sometimes cutting them off completely is the only way to save yourself."

She continues, "Craig and I have been huge PhaseOne fans for years, so it was hard not to fangirl our little brains out when Graeme hit us up to collab. He was so effortless and fun to work with, the song was like a ball we kept bouncing back and forth and it just kept getting bigger and badder every time."

PhaseOne is no stranger to collaborations in the rock and metal world, with the acclaimed bass music artist having previously teamed up with the likes of Northlane, Silverstein, Crystal Lake, Thy Art Is Murder, and countless others, with his distinct brand of hard hitting guitars welded to heavy-duty bass endearing him globally, racking up 75 million streams and a formidable live reputation in the process. And while his sensational emergence onto the scene back in 2013 saw him whip ears and crowds into a frenzy via his unique take on bass music production, his latest endeavor — a mixtape of collaborations with some of the hottest names in heavy music curated by UNFD — is seeing him reach new audiences and fresh creative heights.

You Can Go Home Again: Miranda Lambert Returns to Lindale, Texas for Y'ALL EAT YET? Book Signing

Final Book-Signing for No. 3 New York Times Best Seller Y’ALL EAT YET?
Draws Lines Around the Block, Multi-Generations + the Original YaYas

All Captured, Plus Home Take with Mom Bev for ABC’s “Good Morning America”
Airing This Thursday, May 11

They started lining up at the Pink Pistol boutique well before dawn, even though online tickets were gone in less than a minute. Little kids, girls’ trippers, mothers and teenage daughters, elders and men of varying ages were gathered in a line that ran down the block and across Miranda Lambert Way. They were all there hoping to get inside the store to buy a copy of hometown girl Miranda Lambert’s Y’ALL EAT YET? Welcome to the Pretty B*tchin’ Kitchen.

Fresh from the news she that she is now a New York Times best-selling author, with Y’ALL EAT YET? landing at No. 3 behind multiple-year top 10 title Atomic Habits and Rick Rubin’s multiple-week No. 1 The Creative Act, Lambert returned to her hometown to sign copies of her first book. Joining her for the trip was anchor Rhiannon Ally of ABC’s “Good Morning America,” who interviewed her and mother Beverly at the Lamberts’ home for a feature that runs this Thursday, May 11 during the 8 a.m. hour.

“All those faces, all the smiles and some of the young women who I see myself in when I was their age…” Lambert mused. “After a week of being in New York City and L.A., coming back to Lindale was the perfect way to wrap up this amazing run. We brought this book back to the very place its stories came from, and I got to share the celebration with the people who were so much a part of it.”

In addition to Lambert and her mom, Y’ALL EAT YET’s featured YaYas Vicki Plaxico, Denise (Neicy) Watson and Heidi Prather, plus co-author Holly Gleason were also on hand and signing books at various stations in the Pink Pistol. With the Chamber of Commerce, chief of police, the Junk Gypsies and other local notables on hand, it was a homecoming for a local girl once again made good; conversations about tubing the Guadalupe, people having seen Lambert play as a young teen, the Dallas Rodeo, favorite songs and the drive in from North Dakota floated through the air.

“The people here live every word in this book, all these recipes and places, so it was extra important to get that right. I wanted this book to be about my mom, her friends and my Nonny and her friends, all the love and strength they gave me. But it’s also about how the people where I’m from live and come together.”

After signing the memoir/cookbook – a celebration of how those relationships empower people, especially during the good times, but also when the going gets tough – Lambert got to meet up with her Nonny’s besties, the original YaYas, for a private signing. With her father Rick on hand, the family vibe defined the day – and everyone present marveled at how personal the stories told were, all about their own traditions, moments and memories.

With Texas Monthly raving “it’s a Texan’s dream” and Forbes declaring it a “celebration,” Lambert – the reigning Academy of Country Music Entertainer of the Year – heads to Frisco, Texas for the ACM Awards, streaming live on Prime Video this Thursday, April 11. For the woman who’s taken Las Vegas by storm with her Velvet Rodeoresidency, her performance and five nominations create a musical end to a week which also included an appearance at Long Story Short: Willie Nelson 90.

Remaining the No. 1 Country Music Book on Amazon, Lambert continues receiving kudos. Shondaland wrote, “Miranda Lambert’s Secret Ingredient is Sisterhood,” Rolling Stone offered that the book “sees the singer opening up her heart and home in more intimate ways than ever before,” and Southern culture monthly Garden & Gun wrote that it is “dedicated to her tight-knit clan of women and the laughter, comfort and good food they fill spaces with.”

Y’ALL EAT YET: Welcome to The Pretty B*tchin’ Kitchen is available at retailers and stores across the country including Walmart, Target, Buc-ee’s, Cracker Barrel, Kroger and Whole Foods, Nashville’s Parnassus Books, plus online HERE.

Kenny Steps In for Gulf Coast Jam 6/3 + Carolina Country Fest 6/10

KENNY CHESNEY STEPS IN…
Caps I GO BACK 2023 TOUR w TWO Festivals
Gulf Coast Jam June 3 and Carolina Country Music Fest June 10
“We wanted to be there for the fans…they’re the reason we do this”

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Kenny Chesney is having the summer of his life! Having finished 2022’s Here And Now Tour setting records in several stadiums and being the only country artist in POLLSTAR’s Top 5 Tours of the Year, he made the decision to take his current band to those cities that were so pivotal in his own rise to being an impactful headliner with his I Go Back 2023 arena tour.

I Go Back was designed to focus commitment to the fans beyond the stadium markets. It’s a special kind of show, designed as much for intimacy as it was delivering almost three hours of music. But for the man Variety called “a stadium-sized superstar,” there’s a special thing that happens on the largest stages, too.

It’s funny how life works. With I Go Back 2023 wrapping on May 27 in Orange Beach, the 8-time Entertainer of the Year will be stepping in as a headliner at Gulf Coast Jam and Carolina Country Music Fest – bringing his stadium sized energy to those events.

“It’s like an extra little bit of something,” Chesney says of the decision to play the add-on events. “We love playing those great big stages, and I think everyone knows that. But this year, in these venues, has been unlike anything we’ve done in years – so much fun, so great, so spur of the moment – and I wouldn’t change a thing.

“I can’t lie, though. I was missing those big stages just a bit. And now, me and the road family get to have our cake and eat it, too. When we got the call, even though we were basically done, I thought it over, and of course we wanted to be there for the fans. They’re the reason we do this – and the opportunity to step in and let even more people see how white hot and awesome these players are is awesome. Funny how life has a way of stepping in!”

Incendiary Share "Lie of Liberty" — LISTEN

NEW ALBUM CHANGE THE WAY YOU THINK ABOUT PAIN OUT MAY 26 VIA CLOSED CASKET ACTIVITIES

INCENDIARY — Brendan Garrone, vocals; Brian Audley, guitar; Rob Nobile, guitar; and Dan Lomeli, drums — recently announced their new album Change The Way You Think About Pain. It arrives on May 26 via Closed Casket Activities. Pre-order it here.

Today, the band has the single "Lie of Liberty." Listen below.

"The word 'liberty' has been hijacked by a certain cohort of people to excuse selfish and apathetic behavior as part of a vague, pseudo-Libertarian worldview," the band states. "This song is a reflection of this trend that most of us have seen in our post-COVID daily life."

Armed with crushing metallic riffs, instantly both fresh and familiar, Incendiary populate each of their four full-length albums with irresistibly energized rhythms and adrenalized urgency. Change The Way You Think About Pain is their leanest and unapologetically meanest yet. The quartet weaned on the Long Island, New York, hardcore scene have more to say than ever. Sharply biting and insightful lyrics sit atop blunt metalcore in a perfect soundtrack to throw a brick through a window.

Incendiary deliver a sound of its own, mixing classic passion and modern power. Frontman Brendan Garrone, guitarists Brian Audley and Rob Nobile, and drummer Dan Lomeli cite East Coast hardcore heroes like Vision Of Disorder, 108, Indecision, and Glassjaw as part of Incendiary's formative DNA. Less familiar listeners might liken them to a very heavy Rage Against The Machine.

The band returned to Will Putney of Graphic Nature Audio (Knocked Loose, Every Time I Die, Vein.fm) to engineer, mix and master the new release. Many essential genre bands never made a second album, let alone a fourth. "We are kind of in rare territory being a hardcore band on their fourth LP," Garrone concedes. "It feels like a milestone. By now, you're either 'supposed' to drastically change your sound or have it be the exact same thing as the record before," he adds. "We didn't want to do either of those things. Our focus was on refining the sound that we've optimally been working towards rather than any desire to make a huge pivot." Audley says that in addition to the more focused songwriting on Change The Way You Think About Pain, "we also wanted it to be more aggressive and more abrasive, in terms of songs and production."

Thematically, Incendiary's fourth album confronts the hyper-polarization of American society, those who confuse selfishness with freedom, and the lengths we'll go to in order to avoid pain and maintain comfort. The socio-political pulse found throughout Cost of Living remains, with a deeper exploration of the introspective personal lyrics Garrone started to introduce on Thousand Mile Stare. "The album is a mix of both the socio-politically driven content and darker, more personalized subjects. The album title is meant to conjure the concept of pain avoidance," Garrone explains. "Most of the songs have some kind of tie back to the things everyone does to avoid feeling any semblance of pain. 'Pain avoidance' is a phrase me and Brian came across and kept in the back of our minds."

HAKEN LAUNCH NORTH AMERICAN TOUR IN SUPPORT OF NEW RELEASE TODAY

One of the top modern prog bands, Haken, will be launching a North American tour in support of their latest album, ‘Fauna’ (their seventh studio effort overall) – running from May 3-June 3, 2023.

Says the band in a statement: "We are pumped to be returning to North America with our ‘Fauna’ expedition - we have a real treat planned with this set and can't wait to share it with everyone, and to meet our amazing fans at VIP events! After a great first tour back in North America last year, we're really excited to be coming out again with a brand new and longer setlist. There will be some fan favorites and some new ones in there, so come check it out.”

The new album has been accompanied with the single “The Alphabet of Me,” the second track taken from the record.

Watch the video for “The Alphabet of Me,” directed by Crystal Spotlight, below.

‘Fauna’ is available in several formats, including Ltd 2CD (incl. instrumentals), Standard CD, Gatefold 2LP & as Digital Album.

The album’s stunningly detailed artwork was created by Dan Goldsworthy (Charlie Griffiths, Sylosis), and can be ordered or streamed here: https://haken.lnk.to/Fauna

Understandably, the band is quite looking forward to playing for (and meeting) their North American fans once again. “This will be our first full tour in promotion of our new album ‘Fauna,’ so we're super excited to be playing some new songs from this that we haven't played before. The Decade of Hate tour saw Thy Art Is Murder play 43 shows across three continents and delivered the biggest Australian shows of their career. The band captured their triumphant set at The Forum in Melbourne and you can stream it now in all its inferno glory on YouTube for free. Watch it below.

The full multi-cam experience, with live audio mixed by Will Putney, is a colossal assault on the senses backed by some of the most explosive pyro the venue has ever seen. Thy Art have gifted fans the stream as a "thank you" for all the support over the last decade.

Released in 2012, Hate is widely considered to be one of the best extreme metal albums of the modern era. A landmark record in Australia, Hate saw Thy Art make history as first extreme metal band to crack the ARIA Top 40 and it catapulted them onto the world stage, playing a mammoth 342 shows around the globe. To date, the album has been streamed over 66 million times.

"When we set out to record our record Hate all those years ago, none of us could anticipate the ride of a lifetime we were about to embark upon," says guitarist Andrew Marsh. "So it seemed fitting that when we announced this recent Decade Of Hate tour, we were again uncertain about what the shows would hold in store. They turned out to be the biggest of our career."

He continues, "Throughout this wild journey, it was only through the undying support of our friends and fans across the world that we were able to traverse these monolithic milestones and for that we are forever grateful. To have a dream is one thing, but to live it is something truly special and you have given that privilege to us."

Marsh finishes "In the last 10 years, we attempted to cover as much ground on tour as possible, but this last anniversary tour was rather brief as we prepare for our new record. With the help of our incredible crew we are proud to give you HATE in full, the way we imagined we might one day be able to one day present the songs. For all those we couldn't make it to, and for anyone who just wants to relive the experience, this video is free forever. Flip the lights out, stick it on the biggest screen in your house, and turn it up.”

Canton, SD native Tyler Halverson amassed a loyal fanbase as an independent artist, his five song catalog reeling in over 20 million streams in less than two years, while garnering support from fellow artists Kylie Frey, Muscadine Bloodline and Parker McCollum, among others. His duet with Frey, “Your Bar Now,” caught the attention of legendary Nashville manager Erv Woolsey, who officially signed Halverson to his client roster.

“Tyler has a unique sound and perspective on storytelling that I really appreciate,” shares Owner Erv Woolsey. “I’m excited for what the future holds for this young man and the opportunity to work with him.”

“Tyler Halverson is a kind soul but a fierce Music Man,” adds Allen Mitchell, VP/new artist management. “His craft for songwriting and entertaining sets a standard that I’m fortunate to represent.”

Halverson most recently released “Her,” his major label debut on Atlantic Records, which also debuted as one of 20 country songs on the U.S. Spotify Velocity chart. Marked by dusty acoustic guitars, rustling harmonica and his own crooning vocals, the track’s comforting storytelling sets the stage for more new music due this summer.

Known for his different kind of cowboy tale with his self-described “Amerijuana Music,” bridging honest storytelling with songcraft inspired by country powerhouses Garth Brooks, George Strait and Hayes Carll, as much as Boyz II Men, Taking Back Sunday and The Used, Halverson recently toured with Muscadine Bloodline and will soon launch the first leg of a select  amount of dates with Frey as part of their co-headlined, Your Bar Now tour. Later this year, Halverson will support McCollum on a string of arena dates.

About Tyler Halverson:
Born and raised in the tiny town of Canton, SD (pop. 3054), Tyler Halverson isn’t just any cowboy. He’s got the hat and the boots, but he also plays a mean guitar and writes an even meaner tune. He has no problem bouncing around the country chasing adventure (or a girl), and is telling his different kind of cowboy tale with his self-described “Amerijuana Music,” bridging honest storytelling with songcraft inspired by country powerhouses Garth Brooks, George Strait, and Hayes Carll as much as Boyz II Men, Taking Back Sunday, and The Used.

Halverson fell in thrall to music at an early age, receiving his first guitar while in middle school. A local bluegrass festival convinced him to focus on music, throwing down at 4H and FFA festivals before heading to Nashville to attend the prestigious Belmont University. Upon graduation, he decided to hit the road and spent an extended run traveling around South Dakota, Montana, and Wyoming, all the while writing and playing his songs on social media. Halverson’s original approach caught fire with a string of independent releases including “Beer Garden Baby,” “Mac Miller,” and “Your Bar Now” (with Kylie Frey), amassing tens of millions of streams. Now, with his Atlantic Records debut single “Her” and more to come, Tyler Halverson is eager to take the next step on what has already proven an amazing journey. “I’m finding myself,” says Halverson. “I feel like I’m an artist and I’m finally about to do something.”

Colorado's A SHORELINE DREAM presents dark expansive journey on 'Driveaway' single

"Delicate curves and beauty... a glorious dawn" PopMatters

"Goth heaven... one of the leading lights of the neo-shoegaze movement" DKFM

"A sonorous journey – a inward looking, lush and wonderfully orchestrated sonic adventure with dark intensity" ~ Spill Magazine

"A wild and beautiful thing"  The Big Takeover

"Shadowy and storming dreaminess" Stereo Embers Magazine

Iconic shoegaze / postpunk outfit A Shoreline Dream presents 'Driveaway', a track that truly spells what A Shoreline Dream is all about. A song meant to drive to. A song that flows and wants to be put on repeat. Full of sea drenched layers and huge expanses.

Filmed in Barnum and Central City, Colorado, Jessica Halpine stars in this dark journey of a video, which was filmed, directed and edited by Ryan Policky with costumes by Tiffany Smyth and Jessica Halpine.

This is the latest audio-visual offering from their sixth full-length album 'Loveblind' album, released via Latenight Weeknight Records, which dives into recollections and past desires while looking forward in a wash of soundwaves towards a blinding future. With 40 minutes of goth-laced progressive soundscapes, this album features immense synth layers, the band's signature guitar and symphonic vocals.

Having changed lineups over the years, A Shoreline Dream since forming in 2005, today ASD revolves around multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Ryan Policky and guitarist Erik Jeffries. Their legacy became even more lush owing to collaborations with legends such as Ulrich Schnauss, Mark Kramer and The Engineers. The band also opened for Chapterhouse for their very final appearance.

"After many months of pushing ourselves through the pandemic, we came up with this early on in the exploration of the 'Loveblind' album. The visual concept is based on a lot of what has been happening to people just going about their normal everyday lives, only to be now forcefully expelled from feeling any sense of freedom. Now that many are getting back to our pre-pandemic lives, we’re finding ourselves in an entirely new situation. A situation where lines are constantly crossed, art is overly scrutinized, and people are at each others throats trying to separate themselves to try and reset their entire existence. Computers and technology advances are faster than we can control, and our realities are being changed at every moment by a whole new way of living. Some are giving up," says Ryan Policky.

"Some are using it as a way to escape. Others are just moving into a hibernation state. In the video this is entirely the case. A person expelled by an unknown force. Something that is part artificial, and mostly real. A state of dreamy and a state of confusion. We follow along as it all blends together in a place from distant past. A place where we all find ourselves eventually."

The pandemic has taken its toll on our mental well-being and the perception of money and power has blown previous years away. Dying to get back to the good times and moments of pure, unscathed lust, we long for new experiences to sweep us off our feet. 'Loveblind' reaches for that same energy, taking cues from previous A Shoreline Dream works, drawing from their progressive goth roots. Layers of moodiness, blissful explosions of rock and chugging tempo mix with the pain, love, hope and moments of near death experienced while creating the album itself.

"The video was shot on location in Barnum, Colorado, involving one of my favorite treks up in the mountains - the Central City Graveyard on the far end of town, hidden at the top of a mountain, buried in layers of trees with nonstop exploration. I utilized a bit of machine learning techniques to bring that element of out-of-control computer advancements, while merging in the lore of witches being cast away in the wardrobe stylings by Artsmyths, Inc., who helped pull together the style for our recent 'Loveblind' and 'Harlow Syndrome' videos," says Ryan Policky.

The 'Loveblind' LP is out now digitally, available everywhere, including Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp. The band have already started working on new material, and expect to be able to make an announcement about this soon.

Beauty In Chaos and Julian Shah-Tayler team up on swank single 'Kiss Me (Goodbye)'

"Memorable, whimsical, danceable and impeccably performed... a balanced, pleasurable mix of the easily accessible classic pop of Prefab Sprout and Aztec Camera, woven together with the infectious allure of early Smashing Pumpkins and The Mission UK" ~ The Spill Magazine

LA-based collective Beauty In Chaos is back with the new single 'Kiss Me (Goodbye)' and stunning performance video, filmed and directed by Vicente Cordero of Industrialism Films. This track features Leeds-born Wales-raised artist extraordinaire Julian Shah-Tayler on vocals, as well as Pete Parada (Face To Face, The Offspring) on drums.

With Grammy nominated BIC cohort Michael Rozon in the producer’s chair, “Kiss Me’ packs a bit more glam and post-rock power than the collective's latest 'Behind The Veil’ album, yet BIC curator Michael Ciravolo’s trademark goth-gaze textures dance in and around the song’s infectious melody and chord structure.

“Julian had done a handful wonderful re-envisions for us over the last two albums, which lead me to listening to his fantastic solo work.  I felt he had an entirely unique voice and captivation stage presence, so I jumped at the chance to work with him on a song!” says BIC curator Michael Ciravolo.

“Vicente has done so many of our videos, it is almost second-nature for us when filming.  He is very aware of how adamant I am that each video is different from its predecessor. I was drawn to this video location, and just wanted to go in and have fun in the multiple ‘locations’ we had at our disposable there.  And, of course in true BIC artistry, this is way different than the almost mini-movie script I handed Vicente for our latest single 'Bloodletting'.  It was Julian’s idea to weave in an ever so slight story line at the end."

Julian Shah-Tayler, known for his electro rock new wave 'intellipop', has pursued a luminous path involving collaboration, performance, writing and production for the likes of David J (Bauhaus, Love & Rockets), music industry icon Alan McGee, Joaquin Phoenix and Antony Langdon (Spacehog), Siobhan Fahey (Bananarama, Shakespears Sister) and legendary producer Robert Margouleff (Stevie Wonder, Devo).

Having considerable success in TV and film (including for Disney's 'Maleficent'), he received a Golden Trailer award for his work with Lana Del Ray on the movie's trailer and has also had his music performed at the Oscars. When he is not writing and recording original material or producing other artists, Julian Shah-Tayler is selling out venues with his Depeche Mode tribute band Strangelove.

“I’m honoured to collaborate with Michael on this excellent song. I loved the track from first listen and found it meshed perfectly with my aesthetic. Romantic and slightly dark, without straying too far into the irretrievable goth realm," says Julian Shah-Tayler.

“We both decided we wanted it to be more than just a band-performance video.  Since the lyrics are about the dissolution of a relationship, it felt appropriate to me to bring in the exquisite Eva Strangelove - burlesque dancer and my lissome love - to play the role of my temptress and heart wrecker in an improvised sci-fi Lynchian narrative of loss and rejection.”

‘Kiss Me (Goodbye)' is out on May 3 via 33.3 Music Collective, available everywhere digitally, including Bandcamp. More music from Beauty In Chaos can be found at www.beautyinchaosmusic.com/music-store

HOT MILK Release Brand New Single & Video "PARTY ON MY DEATHBED"

Hot Milk have announced yet another massive single from their debut album 'A CALL TO THE VOID' set for release 25th August 2023 on Music For Nations. Pre-order the album HERE. Highlighting today's announcement is the release of lead single "PARTY ON MY DEATHBED" and it's official music video.

The track, ‘PARTY ON MY DEATHBED’ premiered on Clara Amfo's BBC Radio 1 show this evening. The track fizzes with life but is ultimately powered by a sense of reckless abandon. Shifting upwards through sonic gears to deliver an open-armed and iconoclastic party anthem that pays no attention to the idea of tomorrow, residing firmly and resolutely in the here and now.

A track forged in the fiery debauchery of backstage areas and late-night bars it combines the band’s love for electronic beats, synthesised melodies and hard riffs, resulting in a sound that echoes The Prodigy as much as it does Paramore.

Co-vocalist Han Mee deviously welcomes “lovers of the night, haters of the daylight, come one come all” to unite behind the track that firmly encourages freak flags to fly freely, and invites all listeners to adopt a norm of non-compliance, a dedication to deeds of defiance and to be comfortable in the unconventional. Commenting further on the track, Han Mee shares:

"We can’t be helped, we just wanna squeeze out every morsel of this life and being a bit of a wreckhead has come hand in hand with the pursuit of fun. Can’t be stopped, don’t wanna be stopped, we’re sorry but we’re not, maybe we’re just lost. Who cares, life’s about connection n getting off the fuckin internet n losing ur mind on the streets of Manny and finding it again on your way home.”

For some, it might feel like a long time coming but Hot Milk always knew that when the time came to make their debut album, they had to be ready for it. It will be their loudest statement yet of who they are and what they stand for, an opportunity to show the world what they are made of.

Tracks on the debut album walk on a tightrope between the humorous and the serious, brimming with what might be called positive nihilism. They’re not so much finding the light in the dark as they are laughing because if they don’t, they’ll cry.

The first single ‘HORROR SHOW’, boisterously ushered in a new era of Hot Milk, one that is bolder, brasher, and more impactful than ever before. Premiering on Radio 1’s FUTURE ARTIST show Jack Saunders commented that “The odds are pitted against this band, it’s not often a traditional emo breaks through, but Hot Milk have fought the whole entire way to make their mark, find their way into your top tens, become a favourite for you, and Horror Show’s the best yet.”

The band have blossomed over the course of three self-produced EPs, this constant stream of releases has meant that Hot Milkwere never away from the spotlight – or the stages they call home. Their rise kept accelerating, taking them to stadium support slots with Foo Fighters, the main stages of some of the best festivals Globally, an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel in the US to tours with bands like Pale Waves and their own headline sold-out shows to over 50 million streams of the EPs alone. Crucially, however, they were giving themselves space to find themselves as artists.

The band recorded the album between Manchester, Los Angeles and Stockholm with the bands very own Jim Shaw at the Producing helm for the majority of the record, much like all previous releases. An element that has become so important to the band and allowing them to control just exactly what they want to be as artists.

A CALL TO THE VOID is the English translation of the French phrase l’appel du vide, referring to the brain’s trick of spotting opportunities to die. It’s the eerie jolt that is felt when you stand waiting for a train and the thought that you could jump, and end your life in a heartbeat, intrudes in your head. It’s that brief moment of being reminded of the fragility of existence.

The more alt-pop inspired ‘Bloodstream’, meanwhile, was made for creating moments on the big stages the band have always aspired to reach.  The most important thing for the band, however, is that these songs are written to scream from the speakers of the stage, and for their refrains to be screamed back at them by the adoring, tight-knit community they’ve built. “Live is where I’m happiest, live is where it’s home,” says Han. “We wrote songs with the intention of people going off, making you feel good, opening the pit up, letting go, crying, getting on your mate’s shoulders.  It’s church for us.”

Drummer KEVIN PARADIS Joins NE OBLIVISCARIS for Upcoming Tours, Shares Drum Play-Through for 'Equus'

Progressive metal outfit NE OBLIVISCARIS is now revealing that drummer Kevin Paradis (BENIGHTED, MITHRIDATIC, etc.) will be performing drums during the band's upcoming headlining tours! To celebrate this union, Paradis has shared a drum play-through for the song "Equus," which is taken from NE OBLIVISCARIS' new album, 'Exul,' which is out now! Watch the video below.

NE OBLIVISCARIS comments, "We are tremendously excited to announce that Kevin Paradis will be joining us on our 'EXUL' world tour that kicks off in Europe next week! This incredible French drummer, known for his work in Benighted amongst many other acts, was actually the very first person we reached out to after discussing amongst ourselves who we could potentially invite to audition for the band. We were all blown away by his playing and how quickly he connected with the material once he started learning our songs and are thrilled to have him joining us on the road."

Kevin Paradis adds, "When Ne Obliviscaris reached out to me, I considered this a great opportunity to play meaningful and spirited music that blends different atmospheres into great songs and I am honored to be trusted by the band for their upcoming 'EXUL' tours. Learning and rehearsing the songs has already been a huge pleasure and a great challenge. But now I can't wait to experience this music live with them and to use my drumming skills to serve Ne Obliviscaris' beautiful music."

NE OBLIVISCARIS' European/UK tour kicks off next week on May 5! For all upcoming live dates and tickets, visit the band's website HERE.

Drum tracking for Exul, the fourth long-player from Australian extreme progressive metallers NE OBLIVISCARIS, started in March 2020. There is an ominous tone to that date: March 2020. The pandemic demarcation line. That month, Daniel Presland laid down his drums in Nashville, Tennessee, with American producer Mark Lewis. As flight cancellations increased and borders shuttered, Presland made it home literally hours before Australia closed theirs. Lewis, guitarist Benjamin Baret and bassist Martino Garattoni weren’t as lucky. They were due to land in Australia in the days that followed to continue tracking, but were forced to remain overeseas indefinitely. With recording studios shuttered throughout Melbourne, a slow, tedious, life-altering two-year grind to complete Exul ensued for NE OBLIVISCARIS

What should have been the continued upward swing after 2017’s critically acclaimed Urn turned into the most fraught moment of NE OBLIVISCARIS’s career. Clean vocalist and violinist Tim Charles says the period “came close to breaking us completely.” It was a time filled with death, relationships breaking down, despair and financial loss. Presland, NE OBLIVISCARIS’s drummer since 2005, amicably parted ways in early 2022, throwing yet another wrench into the band’s plans.

There are, however, happy accidents scattered throughout the creation of Exul. The extra, unexpected downtime allowed the band to fine-tune and even re-write parts previously set in stone before the pandemic. Charles’s violin solo at the end of “Graal” is a prime example: His original idea wasn’t fully realized until he revisited the song in early 2021 and promptly came up with a new part. It was a classic “a-ha” moment that improved the song.

“Getting an opportunity to have a song mostly done for a year or so and then go back to it, find what you loved about it the first time and maybe even improve it in some ways was a nice silver lining from all the delays,” says Charles. “I think because we had so many delays that were out of our control, we were even more determined to take our time to make sure when the time came to record and to mix, that we ensured it was the absolute best it could be in every way.”

Seven additional studios and three more countries later, Exul was finally mixed and mastered in July 2022.

The album personifies NE OBLIVISCARIS’s distinctive, boundary-pushing ethos. The band’s trademark blend of emotion and beauty is as towering as ever, if not even more compelling, particularly how Charles’s violin lines carefully weave their way around Baret and fellow guitarist Matt Klavins’ riffing. The duality of Charles’s clean vocals and Xenoyr’s growls remains the narrative anchor, elevating songs that emanate sophistication and are a masterclass in composition.

“Our approach is always the same,” says Charles, “which is essentially to just write and see what comes out. Exul definitely had its challenges during the songwriting process. Part of the beauty of how our music comes together is that we are quite different individuals bringing an array of ideas together. From there, we work out how to combine them into something that is seamless and beautiful to us. We were determined to make this our best and most complete album yet, which definitely resulted in it taking longer. But we are so proud of this album and it’s exciting to finally share it with the world.”

The album’s centerpiece is the two-part “Misericorde I – As the Flesh Fails” and “Misericorde – Anatomy of Quiescence.” (A NE OBLIVISCARIS album is not complete without a multi-part epic!) According to Charles, Part II began by taking a song they thought was finished (Pt I) and asking, “What if after that…?” The band then wrote a section that took the piece in a new direction and what was a 7 minute song, became an almost 17 minute 2 part epic.

“The bulk of Part I was written more so by Benji and Martino,” notes Charles. “You can hear the very guitar-driven approach present throughout that track. Part II, by contrast, was written more so by myself in collaboration with others and the emphasis changes more towards expansive solos and slow-developing sections that build towards the epic finale. These two tracks are a great example of how it’s the combination of our different strengths as songwriters spread across an album that results in the sound that is 'NE OBLIVISCARIS'.”

Charles’s violin parts, whether on “Misericorde II,” “Equus” or “Suspyre,” exude confidence. The instrument has always been central to the band’s sound. On Exul, Charles’s violin playing is taken to another level. “I think that over the years, in regards to how my violin interacts within NeO’s music, I’ve simply continued to add more strings to my bow, so to speak,” he says. “With ‘Exul,’ I definitely explored even further the use of layers of violin and viola parts to create a more textured feel compared to other albums. ‘Mesericorde II’ was definitely a bit of a breakthrough song for me, where I felt I could utilize the strings in a way that hadn’t been done in NeO’s music before. In the end, whatever serves the song best is always the aim and having more ways of creating music makes it easier to serve the song.”

The Exul album title came to Xen when he was summing up the album’s feeling musically and lyrically. Coincidentally, it matched the experience of most people during the pandemic and the Russian invasion of Ukraine. “I think everyone at some point has felt at odds with the world around them, felt alone, cast out, or misunderstood,” says Xen. “Exul felt right to use in a broader sense and as a lone word, for we each have our own history and a story of exile.

“Overall, there’s a darker core to this album, perhaps more ominous than previous releases,” he continues. “However abstract the lyrics are, they involve some form of unwanted departure — all journeys into torment, passion, longing and even despair. They touch on the process of physical and psychological destruction that comes from that sense or reality of being exiled, whether forced from one’s land, ostracised from a community, shunned by a religion, or even simply being treated differently for being who they are.”

Touring will factor heavily into NE OBLIVISCARIS’s 2023 plans. The band will embark on headlining tours worldwide that will hit new territories. As luck would have it, the return to live show activity will coincide with the release of Exul and the band’s 20th anniversary. As one of Australia’s leading extreme metal exports, there is a distinct sense of gratitude from Charles and his bandmates. They’re looking forward to sharing it with fans when they resume touring.

“Simply getting the opportunity to perform music that we’ve written on stages around the world to people that genuinely love and connect with it,” finishes Charles when talking about NE OBLIVISCARIS’s 20-year journey. “There is something incredibly special about the energy that exists between an artist and audience at a concert and it’s an honor to get the opportunity to spend 2023 connecting with people in that way once more.”

Death Ray Vision (Feat. KsE bassist Mike D) Announce New Album + Share "Behead the King" Video — WATCH👑

DEATH RAY VISION  TO DROP NEW ALBUM NO MERCY FROM ELECTRIC EYES ON JUNE 30 VIA METAL BLADE RECORDS

BAND FEATURES KILLSWITCH ENGAGE BASSIST MIKE D'ANTONIO AND INTRODUCES NEW VOCALIST

Birthed at the juncture where hardcore and punk meet metal, DEATH RAY VISION have announced their forthcoming third album, No Mercy From Electric Eyes, due out June 30 via Metal Blade Records. Pre-order it here.

Today, the band has shared the video for "Behead the King." Watch the video below

"'Behead the King' is about the helplessness you feel watching the world burn around you and being powerless to do anything about it," says guitarist Pete Cortese. "It was a blast working with director Anthony Jarvis on the video."

"This new Death Ray Vision record is ready to rip your face off," shares bassist Mike D'Antonio. "With release day imminent, we are very excited to unveil the newest DRV video for 'Behead the King.' Paying homage to Boston, both past and present, it features DRV's newest member — Keith Bennett on vocals. Filled with blistering riffs and mind-melting breakdowns, get ready forNo Mercy From Electric Eyes."

DEATH RAY VISION ARE:
Keith Bennett — Vocals
Chris Rosati — Guitar/vocals
Pete Cortese — Guitar
Mike D'Antonio — Bass
Colin Conway — Drums

DEATH RAY VISION ON TOUR:

6/25 — Providence, RI — Alchemy (w/Tree)
6/30 — Cambridge, MA — Sonia (Record Release Show w/ Burning Wind, Apollyon, Grotesqueries and Klaxon)

ABOUT DEATH RAY VISION:
Commencing writing in late 2018 following a tour with Killswitch Engage — who share bassist Mike D'Antonio with DRV — the band had a lot of creative momentum still burning following that year's Negative Mental Attitude and kept it rolling.  The results will demonstrate that they are playing at the top of their game.  "We're a lot more cohesive as a band after playing together for so many years, and we've gotten better at songwriting and collaborating to bring out the best in everyone’s ideas," says guitarist Pete Cortese.

A further new dimension affecting the sound is the addition of vocalis Bennett to the band's ranks, who the existing members knew would be the perfect fit from his time with notable acts Wrecking Crew, Panzerbastard (both of whom shared the stage with Cortese and D'Antonio's other band Overcast), and Ramallah. "Keith brings a whole lot of piss and vinegar, with a side of street cred. He brought a new sense of enthusiasm and excitement and got us even more fired up to make a great record," says Cortese. Guitarist Chris Rosatiadds, "Creatively speaking, Keith is a force of nature. His ability to get inside a new song and quickly come up with vocals and lyrics is really something to witness."

Lyrically, No Mercy From Electric Eyes is a more politically charged record than their previous releases - “it’s more pissed off, and anyone paying attention to the state of the world can understand why,” says Cortese - but it’s also deeply personal for Bennett. “Every word I’m singing is from the heart,” says the vocalist. “I should have been dead a few years ago, I’m here for a reason. These lyrics are a direct line to how I feel, how I live, what I see."

When it came to tracking, drummer Colin Conway laid down his parts at Mad Oak studio with long time associate Benny Grotto, while everything else was recorded, engineered and produced by Rosati at his home studio, Mass Metal Studios.

The record is wrapped up with a title drawn from the lyrics of one of the tracks — Cortese pointing out that it makes perfect sense given their band name - and vivid artwork courtesy of D’Antonio, which according to the bassist stems from the idea “of ‘being under the thumb of an ethereal overlord’. The fear of knowing the ‘master’ is watching your every move, from a short distance away. In this world, only obedience is accepted and absolutely no mercy is given to those who fail.” Having poured so much of their hearts and souls into No Mercy From Electric Eyes, the band hope to play the songs live as much as possible, and have aspirations of touring outside of the US for the first time, but at the end of the day they are proud of what they have achieved and believe they are worth giving a damn about, because they give a damn about everything they do. “We made a great record that doesn’t sound like many contemporary metal bands,” says Cortese. “It’s heavy as fuck without having to rely on drop Z tuning, and it’s a great balance of aggressive and melodic without sounding contrived.”

São Paulo's BIKE releases 'Arte Bruta' album, the most daring leap in the group's career

"Ultimate ambassadors of Brazilian musicality... creative, trance-inducing, percussive- and groove-led explosion of beautiful sound" ~ The Spill Magazine

"Cool blend of slightly trippy vibes, sunshine breaking through the haze sonics, drifting ambiance, and some darker, more brooding musical lines to add ballast and edge" ~ Big Takeover Magazine

"Positive, reflective and stimulating... The light of the sun is here with slight strobes of dark trippiness caught between the trance-like guitar riffs" ~ Amplify Music Magazine

"A blurring of psyche-rock and tropicalia forms a wall of intrigue... a duvet of graceful momentum" ~ Sound Read Six

"Mellow lined, inner exploring vocals and sultry melodic weaving... an animated adventure to bass and drums, a rhythmic liveliness bringing rich energy and movement to the intimation soaked landscape" ~ Ringmaster Review

Brazil-based sonic adventurers BIKE have released their ‘Arte Bruta' album, their fifth overall and the first since the Covid pandemic broke. Led by producer and guitarist Guilherme Held, this recording exudes maturity and embraces a more Brazilian sound than past releases.

Released via Quadrado Mágico Records and Before Sunrise Records, the blazing musical path they have traversed in the past few months saw them perform live on Seattle's KEXP, play dozens of shows at SXSW and Treefort Music Fest, support The Brian Jonestown Massacre in their native city, and release three singles - 'Santa Cabeça' ('Holy Head'), 'Filha Do Vento' ('Daughter of the Wind') and 'O Torto Santo' ('The Sacred Crooked').

Formed in 2015 by Julito Cavalcante (guitar and vocals), Diego Xavier (guitar and voice), Daniel Fumega (drums) and João Gouvea (bass), BIKE's trajectory has been one of long journeys - both sonically and geographically.

The ‘Arte Bruta’ album represents the process of self-analysis this psych-rock, post-Tropicalia, noise rock collective has undergone in recent years, resulting in the most daring leap in the group's career. A slow-burning mirror, this album took the band the longest time to compose and record. The intricate and consummate result can be enjoyed with every passing minute of listening pleasure.

Like most of the band's albums, 'Arte Bruta' started with the title and the megalomaniac idea of releasing the album on vinyl with just two lengthy compositions. While the downtime of the pandemic allowed this to expand into something much greater, the title itself remained, alluding to the clash between artistic sophistication and the harshness of brutality. Seen by many as an artistic movement, especially because of its French nomenclature, "art brut", the term designates creators who are not aware that their creation can be seen as art.

The band's characteristic psychedelia is still there, but the musical and lyrical references transcend the lysergic references of previous albums.  There is also an Afro-Brazilian filter that runs through 'Arte Bruta', as well as echoes of international rock - 60s psychedelic rock, 70s tropicalism and post-tropicalism, German progressive rock and the rhythmic structure of krautrock.

BIKE released their debut album '1943' in 2015, followed by 'Em Busca da Viagem Eterna' (2017), 'Their Shamanic Majesties' Third Request' (2018) and 'Quarto Templo' (2019) - each bringing them critical acclaim. BIKE is also the only Brazilian band that has released music ('Enigma Do Dente Falso') in 2014) through Columbia Records imprint, 30th Century Records, founded by cult American producer Danger Mouse.

In addition to touring Europe three times and playing more than 400 shows in 16 Brazilian states, BIKE has also shared the stage with The Black Angels and Os Mutantes.

As of May 5, the 'Arte Bruta' album is available from fine digital platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp.

Canada's Locket Share "Rearview Memory" — LISTEN

"Rearview Memory" wears its late '90s and early '00s influences on its sleeve! The mid-tempo song will remind you of all your favorite emo and Warped Tour bands of yore, all the while remaining distinctly modern and moving the alt rock genre forward. Gritty guitars and a feedback-laden outro give the song, which examines how the past can help you navigate your future, its edge.

"'Rearview Memory' is our take on a 'throwback' sort of vibe," says singer Brad Garcia. "We leaned heavily into our influences from the '90s and early 2000s, and infused it with the sort of songwriting and modern production that feels very 'Locket.' It's a song about reflecting on your past and using those memories — or that view— to help navigate your future. Learning from all the mistakes and failures and successes we'd all stumbled through as young-adults."

Locket, whose core members (Garcia, guitarist Cory Bergeron and bassist Travis Morrison) have achieved more than they ever could have dreamed of when they started out 10 years ago in a band under a different name. Once reforming as Locket, they released the album All Out in late 2019. The record earned positive press from publications including Billboard, The Alternative, and New Noise, and the single "Hunnie" has racked up more than 1.3 million Spotify streams.

With a healthy dose of charm and twang, Hereford, Texas native Randall King adds a boot stompin’ honky tonk tune to his set list with his new “When My Baby’s In Boots,” available everywhere now on Warner Music Nashville. Detailing the irresistible toe-tapping power a pair of Luccheses have on his girl, King tees up a song best enjoyed under the neon lights on a night out on the town. Listen HERE.

“Here it is y’all! Ain’t no tellin what happens, “When my baby’s in boots!" shares King.

“When My Baby’s In Boots” is a continuation of King’s neon era, ushered in by his latest release “Green Eyes Blue” and viral fan favorite “You In A Honky Tonk,” the latter of which was featured on his major label debut album Shot Glass. Paying homage to the influencers of his neotraditional sound, the crooning “Green Eyes Blue” landed critical appraise, with Billboard stating “it’s the honeyed, distinctive timbre of his voice and the vitality in his songs that hoist his staunchly traditional sound above the plethora of recently released, ‘90s country-tinged songs.”

Set to perform on May 9 as part of the Academy of Country Music’s “ACM Country Kickoff At The Star” in Frisco, Texas preceding the 58th ACM Awards on Thursday, May 11 on Amazon Prime, King recently announced he will continue his international trek this fall with nine European tour dates. Already known for his road warrior diet of over 150 dates each year touring across the United States, the hustling King recently announced the continuation of his trek into the winter as direct support on select dates of Jon Pardi’s Mr. Saturday Night World Tour.

About Randall King:
One of country’s new crop of modern traditionalists, Warner Music Nashville artist Randall King grew up on the endless plains of West Texas – and his sound is steeped in their timeless beauty with a mix of grit and grace. He grew up singing in the back of a ‘93 Chevy Suburban, mimicking the pure-country vocals of stars like Keith Whitley, George Strait, Alan Jackson and John Anderson and over the years became drawn to the electrifying energy of modern stars like Eric Church, Dierks Bentley and Jason Aldean. After years of hustling and a road-warrior’s diet of 150 shows each year, King produced and released the defiant 2016 EP, Another Bullet, then followed up with a 2018 self-titled album. Now, King is bringing an organic, timeless sound to country’s mainstream with his major label debut album Shot Glass. The 11-song collection, seven of which were co-written by King, centers around a night out at a bar, with each track representing a different point of view of those in the room. The album was named to Whiskey Riff’s Top 40 Country Albums of 2022 and Billboard’s All Genre 50 Best Albums of 2022 (So Far), making him the only male country artist to make the list. With over 200+ million career streams to his name, the 2023 Music Mayhem Magazine and 2022 Pandora and Country Now Country Artist to Watch is looking to the anywhere-and-everywhere future with music that captures the essence of a Western poet who’s never been afraid to be himself.

The Intemperate Sons Release New Single "Game of Keep Away" via FRAME|WORK

Indie rock band The Intemperate Sons released the title track from their highly anticipated new album Game of Keep Away that will be released to all major platforms via FRAME|WORK in the fall of 2023. The band is in the early stages of planning a fall run of shows on the west coast.

The boys in The Intemperate Sons traveled to CA to record this track at MAPS Studio at the direction of Amir Derakh (Julien-K, Orgy, Dead by Sunrise) and Ryan Shuck (Julien-K, Adema, Orgy, Dead by Sunrise). This is the first time, and definitely not the last, having Amir and Ryan at the producer helm and was an amazing collaborative experience. Amir joined Jake and Max on guitar to contribute to the track as well.

The Intemperate Sons shot a video to support the release at Prophecy Film Studiothat will be released on May 12th, 2023.

“Game of Keep Away” is the story of the struggle to dig out of hole created by one’s own destructive behavior. The Intemperate Sons release all their music through the Frame|Work record label at the direction of Amir Derakh, Ryan Shuck, and Denny Sanders at The Label Group.

The Intemperate Sons emerged onto the rock scene in the summer of 2019 in Dallas, TX, to bring their distinct sound to the genre. A deep love for music brought family members Keith Watson (drums), Jake Watson (guitars) and Max Watson (vocals, guitars, keys) together along with close friend Mark Marks, who provides the groove on bass to unite everything together.

Keith is well acquainted with entertaining massive crowds of concert goers and has played with many successful bands in Dallas, such as Gun Hill, Natural Born Thrillers and Agents of Solace, on top of opening for Lynch Mob, Joe Lynn Turnerand Sponge. He is the primary lyricist for the band and has written the music for some of their most successful songs, including “Dust to Dust,” “The Color Within,”and “Unrealized.”

Multi-talented and gifted with the ability to play various instruments, Max is also the lead vocalist of the group. Along with being musically dexterous, he has also collaborated with Keith to write lyrics on the released songs “Going Crazy” and “Way Back When.” In the studio, Max usually surmounts expectations and goes above and beyond to prepare prior to a session with his own vocal harmonies.

Jake is the song architect of the Sons and extremely instrumental in the crafting of the music. His inventive ways of bringing lyrics to life in clever ways are unprecedented and fascinating to see in the studio setting. He is a prolific writer of music as well and is credited with helping create the songs “What’s Done is Done,” “Remission,” “Way Back When” and “Wading in the Gray.” Both Max and he play lead guitar on many of the songs as well. The other members of the band fondly refer to him as the “art director” since he enjoys taking charge in those areas for the group.

Prolific and unifying, Mark is an accomplished bass player and well known in Dallas. He was in the regionally successful band, Haggard, and had opened for Sebastian Bach of Skid Row. His input in song writing has been invaluable to the process of creating captivating melodies.

Despite the pandemic putting a pause on many major events, The Intemperate Sons lived up to their name and let nothing hold them back from making music. Constantly hard at work in the studio, they have collaborated with Amir Derakh (Julien-K, Dead by Sunrise, Orgy, Rough Cutt) and Ryan Shuck (Julien-K, Adema, Dead by Sunrise, Orgy). Both have lent their musical talents to various songs and ultimately have brought the Sons on to their label, Frame|Work. This led the band to also recently join the management roster at The Label Group. Ryan worked with Amir to produce the band’s upcoming track, “Game of Keep Away,” and has had a huge impact on the group. He’s been especially influential on Max’s vocal melodies and delivery. Amir also plays guitar on this latest ballad and has been mixing all of the band’s music as well as performing on multiple songs.

Another notable collaboration has been with Tony Franklin (The Firm, Roy Harper, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Whitesnake), primarily on the first album, The Color Within. He has been a valuable friend of the band and has played bass on some of their best tracks from that album, including “Running Man,” “Dust to Dust” and “The Color Within.”

The Intemperate Sons’ take on alternative rock is a dark and powerful concoction of hard rock mixed with folk and grunge concepts. The band has earned a serious reputation for writing and performing tracks that scratch deep into the backbone of the human experience. There is no shortage of darkness in their writing style, which has a retro vibe with many guitar-driven tracks stacked on top of a groovy rhythm section. The heavier style fits perfectly with the two and three-part vocal harmonies that are a huge part of their overall sound. It has been said that musicians that are related form unique sounds and communicate at a frequency only they can understand. This frequency has become engrained in their songwriting, arrangements, guitar melodies and vocal harmonies. The band has been compared to Alice in Chains, Stone Temple Pilots and even R.E.M.

After a successful show at The Viper Room in Hollywood, CA, the band plans to do some regional shows in Texas and then head out West this year as well.
