THY CATAFALQUE Shares Music Video for New Song "A csend hegyei"

Avant-garde project THY CATAFALQUE is now sharing a stunning music video for the brand new single, "A csend hegyei!" The song is taken from THY CATAFALQUE's latest opus 'Alföld,' which is due via Season of Mist on June 16, 2023. Watch the video below.

Mastermind Tamás Kátai comments: "The title of the song means 'The Mountains of Silence' and this is the opening track of the album with the vocals of Lambert Lédeczy from Ahriman and Mörbid Carnage. The song is somber and dark, something that has been inside me for years and finally released. The video was created by Chad Michael Ward and shot in Sweden."

Pre-orders for 'Alföld' are now available HERE, while the album can be pre-saved HERE

THY CATAFALQUE is a metamorphic entity that’s constantly evolving, showcasing musical ingenuity that’s as limitless as it is daring. Meaning “The Great Plains,” ‘Alföld’ is grounded in the Avant Garde project’s heavy beginnings. While the record takes a cue from THY CATAFALQUE’s early days, mastermind Tamás Kátai’s modern progressive instincts shine through, elevating the record beyond the realm of metal as-you-know-it and once again creating a cutting-edge sound that’s far ahead of its time.

"'Alföld' is the most straight forward and classic extreme metal album the project ever recorded," says mastermind Tamás Kátai. "This time I just wanted to do metal without any innovation or progression, focusing on songs and riffs rather than experimenting and breaking new grounds. Had to let the old ideas out, so I did it with enjoyment. Alföld means The Great Plains, a massive flat part of South-East Hungary where I was born and raised and we shot the video for Néma vermek in the middle of the barren lands, in Makó-Bogárzó."

Originally, THY CATAFALQUE emerged as a black metal band founded by singer/keyboard player Tamás Kátai with the aid of guitarist/bassist János Juhász. Following their joined debut ‘Sublunary Tragedies’ (1999), the Hungarians evolved into quite different directions, but steadily gaining more followers in the process through the following albums, ‘Microcosmos’ (2001) and the self-released ‘Tűnő idő tárlat’ (2004).

On their fourth full-length, ‘Róka hasa Rádió’ (2009), THY CATAFALQUEinvited Ágnes Tóth from neo-folk outfit THE MOON AND THE NIGHTSPIRIT and Attila Bakos to add their haunting vocals. With fifth album ‘Rengeteg’ (2011), Tamás Kátai finally went solo with the help of guest musicians that again included Ágnes Tóth an Attila Bakos. Dubbing his eclectic musical amalgamation avant-garde metal, the Hungarian explored new sonic possibilities with ‘Sgùrr’ (2015). The sixth full-length turned out to be slightly more complex than its successor, ‘Meta’ (2016), which returned to a more direct approach without losing the steadily growing sonic diversity. In 2018, THY CATAFALQUE continued this path with the release of ‘Geometria’. THY CATAFALQUE delivered another spectacular musical mosaic with their ninth full-length entitled ‘Naiv’, inspired by the “Naïve Art” movement.

In 2021, THY CATAFALQUE return with ‘Vadak’. Meaning “Wildlings” in Hungarian, the album title is a deliberate clue to the exotic and feral essence of ‘Vadak.’ Like seedlings scattered throughout the forest by the mere forces of nature, THY CATAFALQUE’s imaginative sound grows with an organic sense of whimsy, cultivated within the vast influences of our megacosm. Thematically, ‘Vadak’ is a foreboding lesson in mortality. Emphasizing the fragility that is shared by man and beast alike, the record explores our Freudian life instincts, in which we inherently fear and run from the ultimate goal of existence: death.

Now, the visionary is looking to the past as it journeys onward and upward with its latest opus, which is just as familiar as it is forward-thinking, certain to mesmerize a vast swath of metal enthusiasts across all genres.

About Culture Club

Few new wave groups were as popular as Culture Club. During the early '80s, the group racked up seven straight Top Ten hits in the U.K. and six Top Ten singles in the U.S. with their light, infectious pop-soul. Though their music was radio-ready, what brought the band stardom was Boy George, the group's charismatic, cross-dressing lead singer. George dressed in flamboyant dresses and wore heavy makeup, creating a disarmingly androgynous appearance that created a sensation on early MTV. George also had a biting wit and frequently came up with cutting quips that won Culture Club heavy media exposure in both America and Britain.

By the time Culture Club's second album Colour by Numbers was released in the fall of 1983, the band was the most popular pop/rock group in America and England. "Karma Chameleon" became a number one hit on both sides of the Atlantic, while the album reached number one in the U.K. and number two in the U.S. Throughout 1984, the group racked up hits, with "It's a Miracle" and "Miss Me Blind" reaching the Top Ten. In the fall, the group returned with its third album, Waking Up with the House on Fire. While "The War Song" reached number two in the U.K., the album was a disappointment in America, stalling at platinum; its predecessor went quadruple platinum.

Following a brief tour in February, Culture Club went on hiatus for 1985, with Craig, Moss, and Hay pursuing extracurricular musical projects in the interim. Though their comeback single, "Move Away," became a hit in April, its accompanying album From Luxury to Heartache stayed on the charts for only a few months.

George confirmed the group's disbandment in the spring of 1987, and he began a solo career later that year. While his solo career produced several dance hits in Europe, he didn't land an American hit until 1992, when his cover of Dave Berry's "The Crying Game" was featured in the Academy Award-nominated film of the same name. In 1995, George published his autobiography, Take It Like a Man. Culture Club reunited in 1998, issuing the two-disc set VH1 Storytellers/Greatest Hits.

A new album, Don't Mind If I Do, appeared in 1999, reaching 64 on the U.K. charts; it did not receive an American release. Culture Club next celebrated their 20th Anniversary with a 2002 concert at Royal Albert Hall.

Culture Club reunited in 2014 for a tour and the band also began work on a new album with producer Youth. The group scheduled the release of an album called Tribes in 2015, but the record never materialized. Instead, the recordings provided the foundation for Life, the 2018 album that marked Culture Club's first new album in nearly 20 years. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine, Rovi.

Howard Jones’ most recent album is DIALOGUE, which was released in September of last year. DIALOGUE is the third album in a trilogy of electronic releases from Jones with multi-media project ENGAGE coming out in 2015 and studio album TRANSFORM out in 2019. DIALOGUE garnered serious coverage in outlets such as Spin, Stereogum and more. Last summer’s headlining tour with his full band/electronic set-up, featuring special guest alternative music legend Midge received rave reviews. LA Weekly declared Jones, “…poignant and perfect” and “absolutely superb”.

Electronic music pioneer Howard Jones has been a constant presence on the international touring scene for the past four decades, playing live in a number of different configurations including intimate solo shows and dates with his full high-tech band set-up. He first burst upon the contemporary music scene in 1983, with his very English songwriting and pioneering synthesizers with “New Song”. His first two albums HUMAN’S LIB and DREAM INTO ACTION were worldwide hits. HUMAN’S LIB reached #1 in 1984 in the UK and featured the hits “New Song,” and “What Is Love?” In 1985, Jones released the follow-up, DREAM INTO ACTION, which quickly became a Top Ten Platinum album in the United States and featured the smashes: “Things Can Only Get Better,” “Life In One Day,” “No One Is To Blame,” and “Like To Get To Know You Well.”

Howard Jones has sold nearly 10 million albums worldwide and continues to make new music and tour the world. Jones has performed on NBC’s top-rated morning and nighttime shows respectively, Today and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. About BERLIN

BERLIN will forever be recognized as the American progenitor of electro-pop artistry with sensually appealing lyrics. Few bands emerging from the era of BERLIN have achieved as far-reaching and long-lasting an impact and, rarely, such a timeless array of musical grooves. The Los Angeles-based band made its first national impression with the provocative single "Sex (I'm A...)" from the platinum-selling debut EP Pleasure Victim in 1982. “The Metro” and “No More Words” were also chart toppers, but it was the unforgettable, intimate, and strikingly beautiful love song, “Take My Breath Away” that took the band to another level. The ballad’s defining role in the Tom Cruise film, Top Gun, helped solidify BERLIN’s everlasting place in American pop-culture. The song was a #1 international hit and received both the Golden Globe and Academy Award for “Best Original Song” in 1986.

BERLIN’s discography has yielded twelve gold and platinum album awards. The band—founded by Nunn, bassist John Crawford, and keyboard player David Diamond—made its everlasting place in American pop-culture. Nunn’s ongoing influence earned her the #11 spot on VH1.com’s “100 Greatest Women in Rock,” while, as an actress, she played leading roles in films including Katie: Portrait of a Centerfold with Kim Basinger, and Thank God It’s Friday with Jeff Goldblum and Debra Winger. Along with comedienne, Wendy Liebman, Nunn also previously hosted the critically acclaimed radio show Unbound with Terri Nunn on 88.5 FM KCSN Los Angeles.

THE RETURN OF EMERSON LAKE & PALMER 2023 SUMMER TOUR

Sole surviving member Carl Palmer, in association with the Estates of his bandmates Keith Emerson & Greg Lake, has announced the much anticipated  THE RETURN OF EMERSON LAKE &  PALMER 2023 Summer Tour.  Launching its 2nd US tour in July, the tour will actually again reunite ELP LIVE ON STAGE through modern technology.

Here is what music fans can expect:

The tour continues the successful run of show which began in November and December 2022. After exploring the idea of a Hologram tour in detail, Palmer (with the Estates of Emerson and Lake) opted for what they felt was a more honest approach using live footage of Keith and Greg on massive video walls alongside  Carl (and his band) playing LIVE on stage. The voice and instrumentation of Greg Lake and the unmistakable keyboard mastery of Keith Emerson will be mixed with Palmer’s onstage live drumming to magically reunite ELP once again.

Emerson and Lake passed away nine months apart in 2016, leaving Palmer to carry on the band’s enormous musical legacy.

“The film ELP made of its sold out run at London’s Royal Albert Hall in 1992 had everything we needed to make these tours happen.  We were able to use just the camera shots of Keith and Greg, with the sterling audio tracks of their performances resulting in a combination of film and onstage performance of my band that brings back the magic of ELP.”

HERE IS  HOW THE SHOW WAS CREATED AND BUILT
WELCOME BACK- THE RETURN OF ELP OFFICIAL VIDEO

After establishing themselves in bands such as The Nice, King Crimson, and The Crazy World of Arthur Brown, ELP was formed in early 1970 as one of rock’s first (and biggest) supergroups. With record sales of over 50 million and decades of sold out tours through the 1970s and again in the 1990s, Emerson Lake & Palmer has remained one of the best-selling classic rock bands of all time. The band’s complete recorded catalog, now under the direction and distribution of BMG MUSIC, continues to be a steady force on the international music scene. The tour will coincide with the new BMG box set of classic ELP hit singles pressed on vinyl with reproductions of the original picture sleeves.

The tour is being launched with the full approval of  the Emerson and Lake Estates, as well as the various managers who have represented the members of the band.  WELCOME BACK MY FRIENDS- THE RETURN OF EMERSON LAKE & PALMER will be focused on the US and Canada through the rest of 2023, and eventually play all over the world where ELP toured throughout its career.

"PROM! is about this girl and how she steals the guy I liked at prom and all the cliché stuff. But I really wanted to make a cool anthem song, for us girls, during one of the most fun and stressful times of our lives, which in this case, is PROM night ;-).”

PROM! is a very upbeat anthem song with attitude and anger. DALBY channels her inner Avril Lavigne & Taylor Swift (her unsympathetic and edgy mentors) for this song as it has a punk rock vibe mixed with modern day pop.

DALBY will be performing her new single (+ a few cover songs) live as a surprise pop-up appearance at PROM Night across the country!

14th Annual “Darius and Friends” Benefit Concert Returns to Nashville's Ryman Auditorium June 5; Tickets On Sale This Friday

Multi-time Diamond-certified superstar Darius Rucker returns to the historic Ryman Auditorium on Monday, June 5 for his 14th Annual Darius and Friends concert benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®. The event, which unofficially kicks off the week of CMA Fest in downtown Nashville and has raised more than $3 million to date, will feature an all-star roster of friends to be announced in the coming months.

“This is one of my favorite nights every year,” shares the three-time GRAMMY Award winner. “The work St. Jude does for children and their families, and the medical advances they are constantly making – it all continues to amaze me. It’s a huge honor to bring together some of my best friends in Nashville each summer to do what we can to support them through this event.”

Rucker, who has always prioritized philanthropic work throughout his career, made a commitment to support St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 15 years ago after taking an inspiring tour of the hospital. Through this meaningful experience, Rucker learned how St. Jude is leading the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases.

Reflecting on his 2008 visit to the hospital to the Tennessean, Rucker noted, “You see these kids who are sick, and they’re so happy to be there, because their caregivers are so loving and giving to them. And then you find out that nobody ever gets a bill. That blew me away. I was just like, ‘We’ll figure out some way to help you guys as much as I can.’”

Now, a decade and a half later, that effort has become an annual tradition. Friends performing with Rucker in past years have included Lauren Alaina, Jason Aldean, Brooks & Dunn, Brothers Osborne, Kane Brown, Luke Bryan, Luke Combs, Sheryl Crow, Charles Kelley of Lady A, Ashley McBryde, A.J. McLean of the Backstreet Boys, Brad Paisley, Kenny Rogers and Tommy Thayer of KISS, among many others. The lineup for this year’s event will be announced soon.

Tickets to the 14th Annual Darius & Friends benefit concert start at $69 with VIP package options up to $249, available via AXS.com. Pre-sale access begins tomorrow, April 18 at 10 a.m. CT, with tickets on sale to the general public this Friday, April 21 at 10 a.m. CT.

The event is made possible with support from generous sponsors CDW, AMD, Amazon Web Services, IBM, Arrow Electronics, and Hendrix Enterprises.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS
CLARE BOWEN - www.clarebowenofficial.com
Before landing the iconic role of Scarlett O’Connor on the ABC/CMT/Hulu TV series “NASHVILLE”, and launching her career as a singer/songwriter, Clare Bowen was growing up in rural Australia. Bowen heard her first broadcast of the Grand Ole Opry on the wireless in her grandad’s kitchen and soon after, her classical vocal coach paused one of their lessons to comment on the “country lilt” that had naturally crept into Bowen’s voice. It would be another decade before she’d duet with heavyweights like Zac Brown and Vince Gill, recording songs with GRAMMY-winning producers like T-Bone Burnett and Buddy Miller who became her mentors. She released an eponymous album and performed before sold-out crowds in the US, UK, Germany and Australia. She also earned a coveted spot on Sugarland’s “Still The Same” tour and toured live with the “NASHVILLE” cast, selling out London’s The O2.

Alongside the spotlight, Clare is no stranger to the darker, more frightening side of the human experience. A pediatric cancer survivor, she was given just two weeks to live upon receiving a shocking cancer diagnosis at age four. With the strength of her family behind her, she survived a grueling chemotherapy regimen and is now known around the world as a beautiful ray of sunshine who leads with her heart, able to communicate and translate emotions whether on stage or on screen.

Now half of the duo known as BOWEN * YOUNG, she and her husband, Brandon Robert Young are releasing music that masterfully delves into the depths of ferocious love, heart-breaking loss and steadfast hope. They have dubbed the music “Cinematic Americana”, and their debut album will be released in 2023 while two songs from the project – “Skeletons” and “Dangerous Love” – are already released globally and available everywhere.

CHRIS CARMACK - www.chriscarmackmusic.com
Chris Carmack is an accomplished actor, singer-songwriter and musician, starring as Atticus "Link" Lincoln on ABC's award-winning, critically acclaimed drama "Grey's Anatomy." Carmack also starred on "NASHVILLE" as country crooner Will Lexington. Chris has been featured on numerous "NASHVILLE" soundtracks, in addition to performing across the US and the UK on multiple “NASHVILLE in Concert” tours.

Carmack's EP, PIECES OF YOU, was written solely by him and produced by GRAMMY Award-winner Ben Fowler (Lynyrd Skynyrd) and Phoenix Mendoza. Carmack and his wife and fellow musician, Erin Slaver, have also released an EP and several singles under their band name, Life on Eris.

Carmack previously guest starred on popular dramas such as "NCIS," "CSI: NY," "Desperate Housewives," "Smallville," "The O.C." and "CSI: Miami." He was cast as the lead in "The Butterfly Effect 3: Revelations" for After Dark Films. Carmack also voiced the role of Garth in the animated Lionsgate feature "Alpha and Omega," along with Justin Long, Dennis Hopper and Danny Glover.

CHARLES ESTEN - www.charlesesten.com
Multi-talent Charles Esten is a global entertainer. Best known for his roles as “Ward Cameron” on the Netflix hit show “OUTER BANKS” and “Deacon Claybourne” in ABC/CMT’s “NASHVILLE”, the artist-songwriter sets the tone for the next chapter with “One Good Move” and “A Little Right Now” off his forthcoming debut album. Garnering over 10 MILLION streams to date, Esten is a 2018 Guinness World Records title holder for the “Most consecutive weeks to release an original digital single by a music act” after delivering 54 original songs once a week for 54 straight weeks. He’s made over 155 appearances at Nashville’s iconic Grand Ole Opry and performed multiple headline tours in the U.S., Germany, Amsterdam, and UK, including at famed venues like Royal Albert Hall. In addition, Esten serves as the National Honorary Spokesperson for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s annual Light The Night Walk, and is a board member and volunteer for Musicians On Call.

JONATHAN JACKSON - www.JonathanJackson.com
Jonathan Jackson is a multi-dimensional artist: an author, musician, actor and filmmaker. Jonathan’s life in the arts began as an actor at the age of eleven on General Hospital, where his performances garnered him five EMMY Awards. After many years working in feature films such as Tuck Everlasting and Insomnia, he played Avery Barkley in the renowned drama, “NASHVILLE”, for six seasons.

Along with international tours with the “NASHVILLE” Cast, he is the lead singer and songwriter for the band Jonathan Jackson + Enation.

His works as an author include, The Harrowing of Hell and The Mystery of Art, which has been translated into Greek, Romanian and Russian. Jonathan was recently named Associate Dean and Primary Lecturer at Theoria School of Filmmaking.

He currently resides in Tennessee with his wife Elisa and their three children.

SAM PALLADIO - www.sampalladio.co.uk
Sam Palladio grew up in Cornwall in the southwest of England, but it was in Music City, Nashville that Sam got his musical big break playing the role of Gunnar Scott in “NASHVILLE.” Since then, Sam’s been focusing on his debut record, collaborating with acclaimed British songwriters like Ed Harcourt, Jonny Lattimer and Nick Hodgson and recording with US producers Soren Hansen (New Politics), Paul DiVincenzo (Elle King) and Dave Sardy (Noel Gallagher, Snow Patrol, Modest Mouse, The Who).  Reflecting both his British roots and his new home in the States, the record feels uniquely personal and will finally be revealed to the world in 2023.

Palladio has performed on many of the world's most iconic stages, ranging from the Grand Ole Opry, Ryman Auditorium, Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Troubadour, Royal Albert Hall, Roundhouse, The O2 and in 2018 he opened for one of his favorite bands, Biffy Clyro, on their European tour.

Sam's other television and film credits include, Channel 4's BAFTA nominated drama "Humans," BBC/Showtime's comedy "Episodes" alongside Matt Leblanc, HBO mini-series “Catherine The Great” alongside Dame Helen Mirren, Netflix’s “The Princess Switch” alongside Vanessa Hudgens, ABC television’s “Rebel” opposite Katy Sagal and Andy Garcia, “Runner Runner" with Justin Timberlake and Ben Affleck and Lucasfilm’s animated musical "Strange Magic".

Annisokay Share "Human" Video!

German metalcore band ANNISOKAY, led by vocalist and producer Chris Wieczorek (Sawdust Recording), have shared the video for new single "Human." Watch the video below.

A year ago, the band released the special edition of Aurora, which entered the official German album charts on #18, being their highest chart entry to date.

Aurora (Special Edition) is still available as CD and colored vinyl option, holding three absolute classics remastered, "Coma Blue," "Good Stories," and their Japanese bonus track "Parallel Universe," which has never been released worldwide, together with a full live set.

Stream, purchase Aurora (Special Edition) as CD or vinyl at the Arising Empire Shop and at Impericon.

ABOUT ANNISOKAY:
ANNISOKAY, the German rock x metal band, released their fifth studio album Aurora in 2021. The record entered the official German album charts on #18 and found the band reinvented. As usual, guitarist and singer Christoph Wieczorek was in charge of the production. But old braids were literally cut off and a new frontman was brought on board. The musical foundation, however, remained, with heavy guitar riffs, driving drum rhythms, and a mix of melodic singing and aggressive shouts. Rudi Schwarzer is now responsible for the latter. The new singer convinced fans upon performing live, as Annisokay played the X-Mas Bash Tour together with the EMIL BULLS in winter 2019.

ANNISOKAY were founded in 2007. The band has already played successful tours in Europe, Great Britain, Japan, and the USA. With several headline shows in Russia, Belarus, and the Ukraine, the band gained a loyal global fanbase. The highlights were support shows for Parkway Drive in sold-out halls in Moscow and St. Petersburg. The established independent record label SPV signed the band in 2014 and three studio albums were released, all of which made it into the top 100 of the official German album charts. In 2018, ANNISOKAY switched from SPV to Arising Empire. That same year, the fourth studio album Arms was released.

CAITLYN SMITH’S HIGH & LOW
AVAILABLE TODAY ON MONUMENT RECORDS

Self-Produced Third Album Arrives One Day After Smith Receives

Nomination for ACM New Female Artist of the Year

Smith Sits Down with “CBS Mornings” to Discuss the
Inspiration Behind the Record, Watch below

Monument Records’ powerhouse vocalist Caitlyn Smith arrives today with her self-produced album: High & Low, signaling the start of her “virtuoso creative era” according to The Tennessean. High & Low arrives after a week of celebratory moments and on the heels of Smith receiving a nomination for ACM New Female Artist of the Year. Listen HERE

“What a week! I’m both honored and grateful to be nominated for an ACM Award for ‘New Female Artist of the Year.’ What a joy it is to be in the company of such incredible artists,” shared Smith. “I moved to Nashville to chase this dream over a decade ago and to get that news the day before my third album drops is beyond anything I could have ever dreamed. This record is so personal and stepping into the producer chair for it was both terrifying and empowering, but I knew in order to grow I had to allow myself to get comfortable with the uncomfortable. I’m so excited to finally share it with the world."

Smith sat down this morning with “CBS Mornings” to discuss the new project and the moments of vulnerability which inspired her to look inward for it. Watch the interview HERE.

For Smith, the making of High & Low represented a metamorphosis. Looking back, the award-winning songwriter realized she, as many do in the era of social media, had celebrated the “highs” of life publicly – while navigating the “lows” in private. Instead of showing vulnerability, it was easier to pretend everything was fine. But over the course of writing and producing High & Low, Smith learned to peel back the curtain, embracing all aspects of her life, including the “lows” she once held so close to vest.

Smith recently kicked off her 2023 The Great Pretender Solo Tour, an unplugged, unaccompanied, unique arrangement in celebration of her new album. In partnership with DTour, the trek includes 15 independent venues across the country celebrating the stories behind the songs. Fender’s ‘Next Artist’ Alex Hall joins Smith as direct tour support. For tickets and more information visit CaitlynSmith.com.

DTOUR is a network of independent venues and promoters offering national artists locally owned, unique venue experiences across multiple markets. The partnership follows a history of supporting independent venues for Smith, who in 2021 teamed up with GRAMMY-nominated Old Dominion on the music video for her powerful song, “I Can’t,” to not only chronicle the desperate conditions many beloved live music venues faced due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but to encourage viewers to support the National Independent Venue Association by visiting togetherwecan.caitlynsmith.comto donate to NIVA’s Emergency Relief Fund.

FIFTH ANGEL - Announce New Album "When Angels Kill" + Release Video For Title Track

The mighty FIFTH ANGEL is proud to announce their epic fourth album, When Angels Kill, which will be released on June 16th, 2023 through Nuclear Blast Records. For FIFTH ANGEL fans, or fans of melodic power metal, this album is simply a “must have.” Weaving the lyrics and subject matter of the last trilogy of FIFTH ANGEL albums into a double concept record similar to the likes of Helloween’s “Keeper of the Seven Keys,” Pink Floyd’s “The Wall,” or Queensryche’s “Operation Mindcrime,” When Angels Kill is all killer, and absolutely no filler. Each song has been crafted into a standalone work, and the double vinyl, CD, and digital versions are nearly seventy minutes in length.

WATCH THE MUSIC VIDEO FOR 'WHEN ANGELS KILL':

Ken Mary (FIFTH ANGEL drummer and producer) commented:

"'When Angels Kill' is actually more of a soundtrack to a movie that hasn't been made yet. This new album combines much of the subject matter from the last three albums and weaves a compelling story. It's very easy to visualize the "movie" as you listen to this album. Overall, it's a deep and dark story, but the subjects that the band has always written about deal with the state of mankind. Themes of media deception, war, terrorism, oppression, betrayal, natural disasters and the battle for survival are all woven in. We even reference many of the previous albums song titles in the new lyrics, which to my knowledge has not been done before in a concept album. We hope the fans will feel that this album is something very special"

The story of When Angels Kill begins in the future, when Phoenix, a young man caught in a world undergoing enormous changes, determines that the cunning, deceptive, and ruthless global leader that is enslaving billions will not subjugate him. Although it seems pointless and even fatal to resist, Phoenix joins a remnant of people that fight on for a better world. Traitorous love, catastrophic events, isolation, and impending doom darken his days, but Phoenix somehow retains his will to survive. The story concludes with a surprise ending.

ABOUT FIFTH ANGEL:

The Seattle music scene in the mid 1980’s was a breeding ground of exceptional talent. Heavy metal was a new wave of music that was sweeping the globe, and FIFTH ANGEL is one of the forefathers of the legendary Seattle metal scene that produced iconic metal bands such as Queensryche and Metal Church.

In 1984, school friends Ted Pilot (vocalist), Ed Archer (guitarist) and drummer Ken Mary (Alice Cooper, Flotsam and Jetsam, House of Lords) joined forces with lead guitarist James Byrd and bassist John Macko. Inspired by the success of Queensryche, who shunned playing clubs for the sake of writing, recording and releasing their own music independently, FIFTH ANGEL chose a similar path. They focused on honing their writing and recording skills, crafting the incredible debut album “FIFTH ANGEL,” which today stands as a metal classic that has influenced countless bands.

Co-produced with famed music producer Terry Date, (Pantera, Soundgarden, White Zombie), “Fifth Angel” was Date’s first ever production. The album, recorded at Steve Lawson studios in Seattle and first released in the United States on Shrapnel Records, was distributed in Europe through a fledgling label named RoadRunner Records based in the Netherlands. The album quickly became a cult classic in the European metal community, charting higher than many major label releases.

Epic Records caught wind of the band, and were so impressed with “Fifth Angel” they signed the band to a seven album, $21 million dollar deal. Re-mastering the recording and re-releasing the album with new artwork, Epic unveiled FIFTH ANGEL to a worldwide audience in 1988.

The band received rave reviews, and was touted in the press as the “next big thing” in all the major metal magazines of the day, including Hit Parader, Kerrang!, RIP, Metal Edge, Metal Forces and many others. Kerrang! went as far as attaching a flexidisc of the band’s music onto their cover, and giving the center fold out of the magazine to the band as well.

In late 1988, the band entered the studio once again, this time with producer Terry Brown (Rush). Epic Records released “Time Will Tell” by FIFTH ANGEL in August of 1989. “Time Will Tell” saw the departure of lead guitarist James Byrd, and the introduction of guitar prodigy Kendall Bechtel. The video for “Time Will Tell” was released from the album, and went into rotation on MTV. An additional single from the album, “Midnight Love,” became the theme song for shock jock Howard Stern’s #1 ranked US radio show for over four years.

However, the winds of change were beginning to stir over the music industry, and when grunge music hit the US music market hard in the early 90’s, (music that ironically was based out of Seattle as well), FIFTH ANGEL disbanded. But that’s not the end of the story…

FIFTH ANGEL was invited to headline the Keep It True festival in Germany in 2010. The reception was incredible, with the sold out crowd singing the lyrics to every song. This positive momentum planted the seeds for a new album.

Finally, several of the members began writing and recording together, and the collective enthusiasm was very strong over the music that was created. Nuclear Blast signed the band to a new recording contract based on a three-song demo that was submitted in 2017, and in the fall of 2018 FIFTH ANGEL released their first new album in nearly 30 years, “The Third Secret.”

The album featured the incredible talents of Kendall Bechtel, Ken Mary and John Macko. Original guitarist Ed Archer soon returned, and along with two new members, Steve Carlson on lead vocals and Ethan Brosh on lead guitar, the lineup was completed after an unexpected departure at the end of 2018 by Bechtel.

“The Third Secret” topped the charts on Deaf Forever (DE), Rock Hard (DE) and numerous other international magazines, and brought the group back on the charts. In 2019, the band returned to the festival stages, headlining the Metal Assault festival in Würzburg, Germany, and then appearing at the Rock Hard and Alcatraz festivals in the Summer of that year.

FIFTH ANGEL will appear this spring at the Keep It True festival once again with the current lineup, and will also perform at Alcatraz (BE) later in August 2023.

VULVODYNIA Release Brand New Single "Eulogy of Ashes"

South African death metal Bulldozers VULVODYNIA have released a brand new stand alone single today. Titled "Eulogy of Ashes," the track showcases a more melodic death metal direction for the band and pays tribute to a much loved fallen king whilst exploring themes of death, legacy, and the afterlife. The track features melodic guitar lines and soaring choruses, while still retaining the band's signature intensity and technicality. Stream the new track HERE and watch the accompanying video below.

The lyrics speak of a dark and apocalyptic world, with references to ravens, blood, and madness. The band's message is that death is inevitable, but art is immortal, and that one's legacy can live on through their creations. Elaborating on the new release, vocalist, Duncan Bentley shares

"We wanted to try something different with this song and incorporate more melody while still keeping the aggressive edge that fans expect from us,The lyrics are inspired by the idea that death is not the end, and that even after we're gone, our art and our legacy can continue to live on and inspire others."

The band is excited to share "Eulogy of Ashes" with their fans and hope that it will resonate with listeners around the world. The single is available now on all streaming platforms, and the album is set to be released later this year. Fans can expect more news and updates from VULVODYNIA in the coming months as they prepare to unleash their latest masterpiece.

‘Fauna’ sees the band exploring new ideas conceptually as Ross continues. “The premise of the album when we started writing it was that every song would have an animal assigned to it. They all have something related to the animal kingdom that we could write about, but they also connect to the human world. Each track has layers, and some of them are more obvious than others.”

“It reminds me of The Mountain,” adds guitarist and fellow founder Richard Henshall. “There, we had the idea of not really a narrative-based album, but more the concept of climbing a mountain and overcoming the obstacles along the way. Then we took that and thought about how it could relate to our everyday lives. All of Fauna’s animals relate to us, personally.”

‘Fauna’ also marks the return of keyboard player Peter Jones, whose sounds can be heard permeating the entire album. “What Pete’s brought sonically to the band has played a massive role in why we do have a lot of new sounds on this record,” says Ross. “It’s always a new dynamic when there’s a change in personnel, and this is a fresh and reviving one. It’s certainly helped proximity- wise, with Pete being in the country: Pete and Ray [Hearne, Haken’s drummer] would be at Rich’s place and they’d just start jamming. That’s really key to how the songs start.”

‘Fauna’ will be available on several formats, including Ltd 2CD (incl. instrumentals), Standard CD, Gatefold 2LP & as Digital Album. The albums stunningly detailed artwork was created by Dan Goldsworthy (Charlie Griffiths, Sylosis) Pre-order now here: https://haken.lnk.to/Fauna

Oxford's JODY AND THE JERMS deliver sugar-spun pop delight on 'Wonder' LP (out April 21). Watch the videos for 'Insatiable' & 'Started Something'

"Poised and perfect pop... A joyous romp through everything that made pop so great during what many consider its golden age.. sassy and full of buoyant energy, shot through with chime and charm, and has lashings of sing-along-ability" ~ Big Takeover Magazine

"It’s almost like power pop, a bit Bangles... or jangle pop. Lovely" ~ Radcliffe & Maconie, BBC 6 Music

"Jody had to be coerced into singing, and she does it really well. It's good isn't it!" ~ Janice Long - BBC Wales

"Aglow in sugar-spun pop confections and unforgettable harmonies that conjures the jangling heyday of The Bangles and the buoyant rhythms of The Regrettes" ~ Stereo Embers Magazine

"Rapidly becoming Oxford’s most prolific band... Jody & The Jerms might be knocking out songs at a rate of knots but not at the price of quality" ~ Nightshift Magazine

In the home-stretch towards the release of their much-anticipated 'Wonder' album, Oxford-based indiepop outfit Jody and the Jerms present their final single 'Insatiable', showcasing exemplary buoyant indie pop that harkens back to the feel-good vibes of another less complicated time and trailing the equally fun lead track 'Started Something'. The full album is out on April 21 via JATJ Records,

Their third album to date, this new collection of 12 tracks was produced, mixed and mastered by RIDE frontman Mark Gardener at his OX4 Sound Studio in Oxfordshire. Loaded with a healthy dose of melodic chrystallised indie pop that is heartfelt and honest, they present endearing jangle-pop songs that are both evocative and relatable.

"We recorded the guitars and drums with Mark Gardener at his OX4 Sound Studio almost as an afterthought following a long day of recording tracks for the 'Wonder' album. We were about to call it a day, but we just kinda let rip with the guitar riff and a real nice and simple rock drum beat. But it wasn’t until Jody set the song’s direction with the lyrics that we know we had a really good single," says Niall Jeger

Championed by the late Janice Long at BBC, among others, Jody and the Jerms is a collective revolving around Jody Jeger (vocals) and Niall Jeger (guitars and vocals) with other band members coming from The Anydays, who have graced the pages of NME, played with Radiohead and Supergrass, and were featured on Mark Radcliffe at BBC Radio 2.

'Wonder' follows their ‘Flicker’ album (2022) and debut album 'Deeper' (2020). Here, the Jerms deliver 12 jangle-pop gems, crafted with a sanguine innocence and vivid relatability. Warmly nostalgic and graced by Jody’s sweet-natured vocal, the band's output radiates somewhere between The Go-Go's, Blondie, The Bangles and The Darling Buds.

"Insatiable was inspired by the personal story of someone I once knew. The lyrics are predominantly about a high octane, powerful, larger than life, selfish man who lives life to the excess and well beyond his means. His domineering appetite for the best of everything, combined with his complete sense of self entitlement, does not leave much room for others' feelings," says Jody Jeger.

"In this song, it leaves his neglected partner feeling ignored, playing second fiddle to his ego and needing the bravery to leave. If only someone could make him see!"

Formed in Oxford in 2019, Jody and the Jerms have been writing, recording and performing their blend of melodic and uplifting indie/ alt rock ever since, having enjoyed national airtime on Radio X (UK), Sirius XM (USA) and RTVE (Spain), as well as BBC 6 Music, BBC Introducing, BBC Wales and BBC Ulster.

Jody and the Jerms' sound recalls those untouchable days indie music enjoyed in the 90s, possessing seemingly effortlessness melodies and choruses which embed themselves in your head for days.

'Insatiable' is out now, available via BandcampSpotifyApple Music and other fine digital music platforms. On April 21, the 'Wonder' LP will be released on limited edition CD, pretty pink vinyl and digitally. Jody and the Jerms are also touring the UK in support of this release. MELVINATOR (Eric Melvin of NOFX) Drops New Single "I Believe In Goddess"

Melvinator, the punk-meets-EDM project from Eric Melvin - founding member and guitarist of legendary punk rock outfit, NOFX - has dropped brand new single, 'I Believe In Goddess' today. The track is taken from his debut album 'The Rise Of The Melvinator' set for release on May 12th, 2023 via Bottles To The Ground. Stream the new track HERE and pre-order the album HERE.

Speaking on the news of his debut album and the release of "I Believe In Goddess", Eric Melvin shares

I am so stoked to be announcing ‘I Believe in Goddess’, as the third and final single from my upcoming album Rise of the Melvinator.

The love that I have received for this project has been exhilarating! I’m humbled.

The debut Melvinator album will be dropping soon. Keep an eye to the skies.“

The release of "I Believe In Goddess" follows the release of previous single "Regaining Unconsciousness", released last month along with the news of Melvinator's debut album, 'The Rise of The Melvinator'.

With a packed schedule for 2023, Melvinator has teamed up with long-time friend, bandmate, and label boss Fat Mike as one of the first signings to his new label Bottles To The Ground. With the announcement of "Rise Of The Melvinator", he will offer fans brand new versions of NOFX staples. Produced by Fat Mike and recorded over the course of two years alongside producer Baz The Frenchman (NOFX – The Decline at Red Rocks) and Danny Lohner of Nine Inch Nails, the project continues Eric Melvin’s exploration of the do-it-yourself links between punk rock & EDM.

ABOUT MELVINATOR

Globally renowned guitarist, artist and founding member of punk rock heavyweights NOFX, Eric Melvin needs little introduction.

Adored by fans across the world, Eric Melvin has been at the pinnacle of his career for over 3 decades, playing to hundreds of thousands of fans across the globe each year, selling millions of albums, and sustaining a staggering 1.2 million monthly listeners on Spotify as part of NOFX.

Outside of his work with NOFX, fans have been eagerly watching Melvin's solo transformation into Producer /DJ for nearly 10 years; beginning with the now legendary "Mosh-Up" collection of mixes on Soundcloud which saw Melvin's entry into the world of mash-ups with short, sharp sets that seamlessly molded together punk rock, hip-hop, EDM & funk - and mixing the likes of NWA with Fugazi & The Circle Jerks!!

Harnessing the parallels between the DIY ethos and energy of punk rock & EDM - over the next few years, Melvin began refining his production skills by bending and blending genres to create a style of music that pays homage to his history whilst lighting a fuse on his future.

The sonic start to this journey came with Melvin's first commercial solo release under the moniker Melvinator, a remix of NOFX track "American Errorist". It now continues with the announcement of the debut, full-length album, The Rise Of The Melvinator.

Expect a groundswell of excitement from all corners of the globe.

This hasn’t been done before...

The Rise of the Melvinator is upon us.

Daniel Morales Releases Remixed & Remastered Album 'DUNNY TUNES' to all major platforms!

Daniel Morales, the Venezuelan founder, guitarist, and composer of the instrumental math rock project "Aurora Dream," has released his solo album DUNNY TUNES. The album, which has been remixed and remastered by the renowned Venezuelan engineer Moises D' Bello, blends several different musical styles, including pop, lo-fi, metal, progressive rock, post-rock, math rock, among others, and is presented under Daniel Morales' name as a solo artist.

In March of 2020, Daniel recorded a large number of ideas and material that wasn't used for Aurora Dream, with the goal of releasing a series of 36 short songs on a weekly basis throughout the year. These tracks included original songs as well as covers of his favorite anime songs, and featured fellow internet musicians and friends he had made over the years.

By the end of December 2020, Daniel had compiled all of these short releases into a full-length album, DUNNY TUNES (DEMO VERSION), which became his first full-length release. The album was originally released in December 2020 as a demo through SoundCloud and Bandcamp, but it was recently revisited with the intention of adding additional features and achieving a more accurate sound that better reflected the original vision of the project. As a result, DUNNY TUNES has been re-released on all music platforms. The album was created to provide entertainment to people during the challenging times of COVID-19 lockdown and quarantine, and it was meant to have a "bedroom produced" and nostalgic feel. The project was also heavily inspired by guitarists Buckethead & Ichika Nito.

The album is now available for streaming and download on all major music platforms.

"Releasing solo material is a thrilling experience. It allows you to explore your musical boundaries, showcase your artistic individuality and share your creative side without any limitations. This is why I seized the opportunity to present a more personal and raw side of my music by inviting some talented friends to collaborate on this solo project. There's a certain innocence, purity and imperfection that comes with this release, which reminds me of the early days when I first picked up a guitar and started recording my ideas after high school," says Daniel.

He adds, “The creation of this album was not driven by a specific goal, but rather a fun way to turn unused ideas into short tunes and covers. You'll find a dynamic blend of music styles and genres, making the listening experience all the more diverse. I hope this project inspires you to create and share your own art with the world. I'm sure you have a special story to tell as well."

Hollywood Vampires Share "My Generation (Live In Rio)" Video — WATCH

SONG APPEARS ON UPCOMING ALBUM LIVE IN RIO OUT JUNE 2 VIA EARMUSIC

The Hollywood Vampires, the legendary supergroup have shared the video for the new single "My Generation (Live in Rio 2015)." The recording is taken from their groundbreaking performance at the Rock in Rio Festival in 2015 and appears on their first-ever live album Live in Rio, out this June.

Watch the video below.

With "My Generation," Pete Townshend of The Who created a timeless classic in1965. 50 years later, this song is revived by the Hollywood Vampires and performed in front of 100,000 fans. This is rock in its purest form. Known for their incredible energy on stage, this performance is no exception — featuring Alice Cooper, Johnny Deep, Joe Perry, Tommy Henriksen, and special guest Duff McKagan (Guns N' Roses).

In 2015, the Hollywood Vampires not only released their first album, but also played one of their biggest concerts, which will now be released as their first live album. After this success and the media interest in the ultimate rock group, sold-out concerts, and tours all over the world followed, and finally, in 2019, the second album Rise. Over 50,000 physical units sold, millions of streams, and worldwide cover stories in major magazines later, fans, press, and the band were ready to bring these songs to the stage. Unfortunately, part of the tour had to be postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and will finally be made up for this summer. Fittingly, the first live album will be released a few days earlier on June 2.

The new album Live in Rio will be released as CD+DVD Digipak, CD+Blu-ray Digipak, limited + numbered 2LP Gatefold Black, and can be pre-ordered here.

Truth & Misdirection: Michael Ray Video Sets The Record Straight

When Michael Ray delivered “Get Her Back,” a track from his upcoming Dive Bars & Broken Hearts, he knew he had a song that leaned into the difference between how people feel and how they act. Recognizing that life sometimes stings, the dark-haired traditionalist from the heart of Central Florida also knows that most people don’t have to act on their impulses.

With a line that sidesteps acting out or trafficking in bitter gossip – “I wasn’t raised like that” – the terse power midtempo reflects on how things go wrong and what happens in the aftermath. It’s an exercise in self-awareness and a vocal performance that works a triple entendre from recognition to reflex to rejecting the obvious response. It’s also a masterwork in country music’s ability to misdirect the obvious not just once – clamoring to get the girl back turning into craving retribution – but twice – that desire to strike back cooling to the reality the last thing the singer wants is the person who’s done them wrong.

“I was raised on country songs that turn what you think on its head,” Ray explains. “You think you know what the song’s all about, then you hear the hook – and it’s something completely else. That’s what the greats like Haggard, Cash or Conway were all about. So, when I heard this, the way it flipped the script twice, I knew I had to cut ‘Get Her Back.’ The way it’s written is so tight, and then what Michael Knox did in the studio? The track is so sexy, he really intensifies that sense of what’s going on here...

“And it made me wonder, how could we do a video that has that same kind of ‘think it’s one thing, but it’s actually something else’ kind of appeal? It wouldn’t be easy.”

Enter Spidey Smith, the photographer and director who’s worked with a litany of today’s most barrier pushing stars across genres from Eminem to Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Good Charlotte to Cypress Hill to Duran Duran. With a dark, saturated palette and a set of detectives with flashlights, the director behind Ray’s backwater brimstone and business “Holy Water” conjures a storyline that appears one way but is distinctly another.

And at the center of it all, Ray delivers the truth of his song to a wizened, heard-it-all cop in a bare-bones debriefing room with the video running and an observation window that provides a second perspective. Balancing footage of what was and what’s unknown, the ponytailed interrogator leans into the potential suspect’s narrative, weighing his truth as he hands over black and white pictures from the scene of the crime.

Beyond the moments of the former couple’s life together, there are the unknown to both men scenes of the woman with her friends, with her dog, with her phone fraught and incessantly yelling into a voice mail of someone who’s not picking up. It is there that the crux of the video unfolds. As the woman stumbles, Ray is loading a truck with firewood unaware of all that is happening elsewhere – and when he returns the call, there is... no answer.

“Leave it to Spidey to find the edge and the mystery,” Ray says with a laugh. “He understands that place where you want to snap, but then you settle down and you just move on. To be able to find a way of showing how far you can stand from the fire – and still get burned, how you can do the right thing, which sometimes is nothing, and just keep moving? It’s a tough line to walk, but he did. And for everyone who’s ever been in a position of not wanting to look back, well, this clip’s for you.”

About Michael Ray
Forged on the small stages of Florida’s rural communities, Michael Ray has created an impressive foundation. Four No. 1 songs – RIAA Platinum-certified “Think a Little Less,” RIAA Platinum-certified “Whiskey And Rain,” RIAA Gold-certified “Kiss You in the Morning,” RIAA Gold-certified “One That Got Away” -- with over 1 billion global streams, over 650,000 album equivalents, and over 150 million YouTube views, he is a true country star who’s performed at the Grand Ole Opry more than 65 times. Looking to expand his sound, Ray sought out CMA Album of the Year Award-winning producer Michael Knox. The pair have taken his brand of country to a new level for Dive Bars & Broken Hearts, Ray’s six song EP arriving June 23 via Warner Music Nashville. Currently on the road headlining shows through the summer, he’s taking his music where it matters: to the people. About Joe Bonamassa
Blues-rock superstar Joe Bonamassa is one of the most celebrated performing musicians today. A three-time GRAMMY-nominee, Bonamassa earned his 25th No. 1 on the Billboard Blues Album Chart, with his latest studio album ‘Time Clocks.

Bonamassa earned his third GRAMMY nomination with 2020’s ‘Royal Tea,’ recorded at the legendary Abbey Road Studios. The album brought Bonamassa full circle: reconnecting the guitar-slinging kid who stumbled across the best of British-blues in his dad’s vinyl collection to the player he is today. That same year, Bonamassa delivered a groundbreaking live performance from the legendary Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, where he played ‘Royal Tea’ in its entirety to over tens of thousands of people across the globe via livestream, recording the full set for the live concert film and album ‘Now Serving: Royal Tea Live From The Ryman,’ released in 2021.

Bonamassa also runs Keeping the Blues Alive Foundation, a non-profit that promotes music education and blues music by funding scholarships and providing music education resources to schools in need. To date, the foundation has provided schools and teachers with over $1 Million and has positively impacted 90,000 students in all 50 states.

Created by Bonamassa and Roy Weisman, Keeping The Blues Alive Records (KTBA Records) has released albums for many artists, including musical icon Dion’s ‘Blues With Friends,’ Chicago Queen of Guitar Joanna Connor’s ‘4801 South Indiana Avenue’ and British Blues-Rock star Joanne Shaw Taylor’s ‘Blues From The Hear Live,’ all of which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Blues Charts, while Blues-legend Larry McCray’s ‘Blues Without You’ debuted at No. 2. Bonamassa plans to produce and release more artists on KTBA Records this year.

Journeyman LLC, the newest endeavor between Bonamassa and his long-time manager Roy Weisman, is a vertically integrated music management, concert promotion, and marketing company that builds awareness for great live artists worldwide. After years of perfecting strategies, while building Joe Bonamassa’s career, the company will utilize the same savvy tactics which allowed them to overcome industry barriers that typically held back artists from achieving success. Bonamassa has been keen on using his experience to pay it forward to help other artists navigate the murky industry waters. Consequently, Journeyman sets itself apart in this way as being the true market maker for its artists.
