Chase Rice Brings 'I Hate Cowboys & All Dogs Go To Hell' to Sold-Out Ryman Auditorium

One of Country music's few Diamond-certified songwriters, Chase Rice brought his critically acclaimed album I Hate Cowboys & All Dogs Go To Hell to the sold-out Ryman Auditorium last night, April 11, playing all 13 songs off the new project along with his decade-plus catalog of fan-favorites and chart-topping hits.

In addition to sharing an unreleased song, “Church,” the first he’s written since releasing the new project, Rice was joined onstage for album track “Oklahoma” by surprise guest Read Southall, who also appears alongside him on the recorded version of the song praised by PopCulture as “one of the absolute best songs in Rice’s entire musical repertoire.” He also invited a special guest onstage for the poignant “Bench Seat,” as Rice’s beloved dog Jack appeared to the delight of fans for his performance of the powerful song about the companionship a dog can offer, with the Tennesseean declaring, “the touching country ballad could be, by the end of 2023, one of the surprise candidates for Song of the Year.”

From start to finish, the sold-out show was a celebration of the album that fans and critics alike have celebrated as Rice’s best work to date. PopCulture asserts that the project is already “the best country album of the year… and everybody’s got to live up to it,” remarking that instead of following the traditional “if it’s not broke don’t fix it” approach, “Rice and his team, somehow, simultaneously broke it AND fixed it — both on purpose.” Leading U.K. music publication Entertainment Focus also has high praise for the “absolute triumph” of an album, labeling it with the first five star review of the year – an honor that took the outlet until September to award in 2022 – and remarking that “it’s a songwriter’s album and a lyricist’s album but it also does all sorts of wonderful things with melodies that are both clever and yet infectious at the same time.”

Cowboys & Indians further celebrates I Hate Cowboys & All Dogs Go To Hell for its “risk-taking and rule breaking approach,” proclaiming, “that gamble has paid off handsomely, resulting in vulnerable and personal music.”Billboard agrees, noting the album “refines his artistic voice,” creating an offering that is “still propulsive with arena-ready moments, but is laced with deeper, more introspective themes.”

Rice continues the Way Down Yonder Tour throughout the summer. For all the latest news and tickets to upcoming tour dates, visit ChaseRice.com and follow Rice on FacebookTwitter and TikTok @ChaseRiceMusic and on Instagram @ChaseRice.

About Chase Rice
With nearly 2.5 million albums sold and over 2.5 billion total streams, plus a legion of passionate fans at his high-energy concerts across the globe, Chase Rice has established himself as a powerful force in Nashville and beyond. With the critically acclaimed album I Hate Cowboys & All Dogs Go To Hell crafted in his rural Tennessee home-turned-studio and available everywhere now, Rice’s sound continues to evolve to reflect the realities of his life; from emotional reckoning to an admiration of the Western way of life. The new music serves as a follow up to his three-part project, The Album, featuring his latest Platinum-certified No. 1 hit, “Drinkin’ Beer. Talkin’ God. Amen. (feat. Florida Georgia Line)” and Platinum-certified Top 10 hit “Lonely If You Are.” This is the same gravelly-voiced Chase Rice fans first fell in love with years ago – but better, freer; unbeholden and uninhibited. The new music builds upon the success of his sophomore album, Lambs & Lions, which featured the triple-Platinum, two-week chart topper “Eyes On You” – Rice’s first No. 1 as an artist and the most-streamed song of his career. Lambs & Lions followed Ignite the Night, which debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums and No. 3 on the all-genre chart, producing a pair of Top 5 hits; “Gonna Wanna Tonight” and Platinum-certified “Ready Set Roll.” In addition to guesting on sold out arena tours with Kane Brown and Jason Aldean plus stadium shows with Kenny Chesney and Garth Brooks, Rice consistently sells out venues on his own headlining tours, including the Way Down Yonder Tour underway now in support of the new music.

THE ABBEY Shares New Live Clip, Launches Vinyl Sales Start for 'Word of Sin'

Progressive doom rock new-comers THE ABBEY, ft. Natalie Koskinen (SHAPE OF DESPAIR), Jesse Heikkinen (HENGET, ITERUM NATA, etc), Vesa Ranta (SENTENCED, THE MAN-EATING TREE), and Janne Markus (THE MAN-EATING TREE), are now launching the long-awaited sales start for the vinyl format of their debut album, 'Word of Sin.' The LP is due on July 7, 2023 via Season of Mist and can be pre-ordered at THIS LOCATION.

To celebrate, the band is now sharing the live version of the song, "Old Ones," which was filmed during THE ABBEY's first ever gig in Kantakrouvi, Oulu (FI) on February 22, 2023. Watch below.

The CD and digital formats for 'Word of Sin' were previously releases on February 17 and can be found HERE.

Aleister Crowley’s Abbey of Thelema was located in Sicily, Italy, and functioned as ground zero for many of the occultist’s most complex and groundbreaking hedonistic pursuits. Here, Crowley codified his ritual practices and took his concept of “Magick” to new, unforeseen levels. He rebranded the temple as “Collegium ad Spiritum Sanctum,” translating to “A college towards the Holy Spirit.” But the Abbey of Thelema was not without its controversy: A young disciple died in 1922 after contracting typhoid fever from the drinking water. And a year later, Crowley was evicted by Italian dictator Benito Mussolini’s regime, yet the mystery and intrigue behind the Abbey of Thelema remain.

It was only appropriate, then, that Jesse Heikkinen, a veteran of the Finnish music scene and a solo artist under the Iterum Nata banner, branded his newest musical pursuit as The Abbey. Drawing lyrical inspiration from esoteric organizations, their beliefs and his own practices, Heikkinen and co-lead vocalist Natalie Koskinen (Shape of Despair) weaved ritualistic tales from the darkest corners of themselves to pair with music that is a provocative, alluring kaleidoscope of dark, heavy rock. The result is the mystical Word of Sin, The Abbey’s nine-song debut long-player.

The Abbey tale began when Heikkinen generated the sudden urge to try his hand at singing in a doom metal band after laying down guest vocals for fellow countrymen Fuzzifer. His idea was to form a doom metal band with “big vocals” — a project for fun’s sake that would thrive off writing from the heart and improvisation. Those plans involved former Sentenced and The Man-Eating Tree drummer Vesa Ranta — the first name that came to Heikkinen’s mind for the project.

Ranta, now a professional photographer and filmmaker, provided the steady backbone behind Sentenced’s groundbreaking career that was brought to its conclusion in 2005. According to Heikkinen, Ranta plays “like a battalion of marching giants,” a not-so-subtle nod to the drummer’s mastery of the quarter-note. Ranta quickly took to Heikkinen’s early demos and suggested they add a female singer. Enter Koskinen. Koskinen knew Ranta from a video shoot where she was serving as a makeup artist. Reluctant to try a new band considering her Shape of Despair and career obligations, Koskinen listened to Heikkinen’s first demo and decided to give the project a go. Janne Markus (guitar, also of The Man-Eating Tree) and Henri Arvola (bass) were soon tapped to complete the band’s lineup.

Word of Sin was recorded between April and November 2021 in several locations across Finland. Drums, bass and Markus’s guitars were tracked at Kratio Studio in Oulu by Kyösti Rautio. Rautio also served as co-producer and mixed the album, becoming the unofficial sixth member of The Abbey. Heikkinen, who recorded most of his vocals and guitars in his stepdaughter’s room, surrounded by My Little Ponies, Disney figurines and a pile of esoteric literature, is careful to point out that The Abbey fails to drop into any neat, little subgenre.

“The album was made purely for self-expressive reasons,” he says. “My music is the channel where I can be as true and authentic as possible. It is also a somewhat safe way to explore and express the dark side of myself and the collective consciousness. Word of Sin may seem like a tremendously dark piece as a rock album, but it’s pretty lightweight for a doom metal album! The material proved so strong that it was obvious that it wasn’t going to be another side project. I think using the means of improvisation made the music sound more like its creator instead of it being forced to be this or that — and that seemed to work really well for us!”

Regardless of where Word of Sin falls between the vast channels of doom and heavy rock, the vocal interplay between Heikkinen and Koskinen is undeniable. Each has songs where they take the lead, but their harmonies and trade-offs carry songs like “Rat King” and “Desert Temple” to the fore, creating a restless, captivating atmosphere resembling vintage rock from the 1970s. And, for his first go at singing lead in a band, Heikkinen proves to be quite the capable vocalist, carrying a smooth, almost airy delivery on “Crystallion” and “Widow’s Will.”

“I didn’t think of it that much — my vocals all came naturally,” he says. “I still think I’m more of a guitarist than a vocalist, really. During the writing and recording, I listened to King Crimson’s Red quite a lot, so I’m sure I got some influences from John Wetton’s singing on that album. The vocal harmonies were heavily inspired by bands like E.L.O, Queen and Yes.”

Heikkinen and Koskinen didn’t know each other before the formation of The Abbey. Heikkinen met Koskinen for the first time when she tracked vocals at his home studio, but their partnership generated immediate results. “Nowadays, I usually record my vocals at home, but in this case, as I had yet to meet Jesse in person, I wanted to record my parts at his place,” says Koskinen. “It’s very important to see what kind of energy is between the musicians I’m going to work with in the long run. It turns out that we are a perfect match musically. Later on, I traveled to Oulu to meet the rest of the guys [Janne and Henri] and I must say that we had a very strong bond from the beginning. Sometimes things just happen even when you don’t plan them.”

“The right lines for each were found really easily,” adds Heikkinen. “There already were dozens of vocal tracks in some of my demos, but every time Natalie found her place in the song, she added something new into it.”

The creative process behind Word of Sin proved so fruitful that the members of The Abbey are already thinking about a follow-up. It’s a testament to the material’s inherent strength and the immediate bond between all five musicians.

“The Abbey will most definitely be an active and serious project for me - I do hope it will turn out fun as well,” wraps Heikkinen. And closes Koskinen: “I do have a feeling this band will make a long trip together.”

SASS JORDAN RELEASES "MAKE YOU A BELIEVER" FROM FORTHCOMING ALBUM, LIVE IN NEW YORK NINETY-FOUR. DIGITAL ALBUM DROPS APRIL 28TH

Sass Jordan's breakthrough album, Racine, was released in 1992 and yielded the Canadian hit singles "Make You a Believer," "I Want to Believe"--both ranked on Billboard magazine's Mainstream Rock chart--"You Don't Have to Remind Me," and "Goin’ Back Again." In 1994, Jordan released Rats, which yielded  her first song on the Billboard Hot 100 with the single "Sun's Gonna Rise," and also featured “High Road Easy.” In 1992, Jordan recorded the duet "Trust in Me" with Joe Cocker for the motion picture The Bodyguard, after star Kevin Costner heard Jordan on his car radio. The soundtrack would go on to sell more than 45 million copies worldwide.

Jordan is now releasing Live in New York Ninety-Four through Deko Entertainment (ADA/Warner Music Group). The show was recorded at the South Street Seaport in NYC during the 1994 Rats tour.  The band at that time, along with Jordan, consisted of Tony Reyes (bass, vocals), Taylor Hawkins (drums, vocals), Nick Lashley (guitar), and Stevie Salas (guitar). The full album will drop digitally on April 28, but today we get to hear “Make You a Believer”, as Jordan explains “This live version of Make You A Believer is the one that actually made me a believer - the song is all about believing in yourself - and this version kicked that up a notch for me. It is my sincere hope that it inspires the same in you!”

The album will also be available in a Limited-Edition gatefold vinyl with never before seen photos from the 1994 Rats tour taken from Jordan’s personal collection. There will be a standard black version available for retail and a color variation (only 250 copies) sold only direct to consumer along with a signed flat. More details will be announced soon but you can pre-order your copy now before these sell out.

ROYAL THUNDER Announce New Album, ‘Rebuilding The Mountain’, Out June 16th via Spinefarm

Atlanta-based rockers, ROYAL THUNDER, are proud to announce their fourth studio album,‘Rebuilding The Mountain’, which will see a June 16, 2023 release on Spinefarm. The upcoming full-length is the trio’s first studio release in six years, dating back to 2017’s ‘Wick’ LP.

Addressing some of the creative drivers surrounding their new album, guitarist Josh Weaver says:

“It was really a special time writing and working on this record. There were a lot of hardships we had prior to the pandemic and during, as everyone experienced. The band dissolved and toxic behavior became a priority over the music, addiction being the number one factor for things falling apart. We reconnected with our drummer, Evan Diprima, during the pandemic. We agreed that we needed to get our priorities straight and do the band uncompromisingly right, as in right for us. There was a huge void in us, not playing. We started writing our album immediately. We surrendered our heart and soul to each song. It felt good to work hard and create, to have what felt like a second chance to be a band again. We are thankful for the music and the healing it has brought us. We hope that the music will be a source of hope, inspiration, and healing to all that hear it.”

To commemorate the announcement of 'Rebuilding The Mountain', Royal Thunderhave dropped the second single off the record, titled “Fade”.

Speaking about the new track, lead vocalist/bassist Mlny Parsonz shares,

’Fade’ is a reminder to me that despite the exchange of positive and negative energy, we can heal all of our connections. We don’t have to live with our pain, we have the power to change how we interact with it and others.”

‘Rebuilding The Mountain’

Second chances in music—as in life—are rare. In a gated ecosystem that is set up to prevent even first chances, getting a do-over hardly ever happens. Perhaps no one in 2023 appreciates that more than the members of ROYAL THUNDER. After losing a key member and eventually collapsing entirely under the weight of excess, the beloved Georgia trio have reunited and returned with their first album in six years.

For vocalist/bassist Mlny Parsonz, guitarist Josh Weaver and drummer Evan Diprima, the title of their fourth record tells the tale: 'Rebuilding the Mountain'. For Diprima, who left the band in early 2018, it’s a long-awaited homecoming. Weaver and Parsonzreconnected with Diprima long-distance at the height of the pandemic in 2020. They spent about a year exchanging demos and song ideas online before finally getting in the same room together to write this album.

Recorded at West End Sound in Atlanta, 'Rebuilding the Mountain' was engineered by Tom Tapley and Miles Landrum and co-produced by ROYAL THUNDER and Tom Tapley. It marks the first time the band has recorded live in the studio.

Royal Thunder are:

Mlny Parsonz – vocals, bass

Josh Weaver – guitar

Evan Diprima – drums

Kurt Deimer Set to Release New Single "Doom" This Summer; Announces Tour Dates with Tesla!

Stream/ Download Kurt Deimer Music

https://linktr.ee/kurt.deimer

Artist/Entrepreneur/Actor, Kurt Deimer, has announced that he will be joining Teslaon select dates of the Time To Rock! Tour this Spring. Kurt will release his new single, "Doom" this summer!

Kurt Deimer Tour Dates:

4/19 Grand Rapids, MI (Supporting TESLA)

4/25 Williamsport, PA (Supporting TESLA)

4/26 Cincinnati, OH (Supporting TESLA)

5/5 Orlando, FL (Supporting TESLA)

5/6 Orlando, FL (Supporting TESLA)

In a world that seems to be spiraling out of control, Kurt Deimer is a man with a very clear mission: Work Hard, Rock Hard, Play hard and Spread positivity. In fact, his mantra could be summed up: “Take the high road, do the right thing, encourage others.” It sounds like a tall order these days in a world full of warring factions. And it’s an unusual mission for a singer/songwriter vocalist whose music could be described as hard rock, even heavy metal – genres that are not always synonymous with positivity.

Deimer, for his part, describes his work as good old fashioned rock and roll. “And it’s as good a vehicle as any for spreading good vibes” he says. “I’m here to encourage others to treat people with respect, dignity and kindness,” he says. “I’ve been through a lot of things in my life and I try to share that with others and be a beacon of hope for my listeners.”

That positivity and perseverance has paid off for the native of Cincinnati, Ohio. He’s not only launched a movie franchise, Hellbilly Hollow, by filming and starring in a feature length horror film of the same name. He’s also recorded more than two dozen songs with legendary producer Chris Lord-Alge (Green Day, James Brown and the Rolling Stones), his management team includes Brian Wheat, manager of TESLA who discovered him while opening for TESLA.

Chris Lord-Alge says he was drawn to Kurt’s originality as an artist. “I saw something completely different in Kurt, and that was the lure for me. He isn’t a typical rock or country artist – I love hearing him talk and narrating a story, and I was drawn to taking those stories and helping turn them into music. He’s a personality, he’s someone you want to talk to.”

Things have not always been positive in Deimer’s world. At age 20, as a young rock vocalist, he found himself in the grips of drug addiction. He later discovered he was using substances to medicate an underlying anxiety condition. At that young age, he quit drugs, got help for his anxiety and never looked back.

He eventually started buying and selling rental properties and used that money to start the first of several successful companies he owns. Despite making his mark in the business world, Deimer didn’t feel ready to settle down and “join the country club and play golf all day” – so at an age when most people start thinking about slowing down, he started to speed up.

Inspired by the artists that helped shape him – Boston, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Bob Marley and AC/DC, to name just a few – he started writing song lyrics.

Inspired by his love of movies and acting roles in films including the 2018 ‘Halloween’ remake – where his character was killed by Michael Myers – and John Travolta’s ‘Trading Paint,’ he started hashing out a movie concept that became his eventual Hellbilly Hollow feature film and franchise.

Deimer has supported Geoff Tate on an expansive cross-country tour that highlighted material from his debut EP, that came out on November 19, 2021, which includes a duet with Tate and a trilogy of music videos directed by Scottish filmmaker Paul Boyd [Sting, Deadmau5, The Cult] that spotlight Deimer’s cinematic vision and charismatic presence. Along with many other supporting shows including TESLA, Drowning Pool and Yngwie Malmsteen all this within the first two years of touring.

For Deimer, the inspiration is to make the world a better place one song at a time, singing about the ills of the 21st century and offering solutions instead of excuses. “When people listen to my music, I want to help them decompress and feel better after a brutal day. That’s what music always did for me, and that’s what we need more of today.”

VULTURE INDUSTRIES, Release New Single, "Saturn Devouring His Young”

New Album, ‘Ghosts from the Past’, Out June 16th!

Pre-Order HERE

"Inspired by what I consider one of the most disturbing paintings ever made, the track deals with power-hungry old men and their ruthless disregard of life and consequence in their quest for a glorified place in history."

The above description by Bjørnar Erevik Nilsen of "Saturn Devouring His Young",  the newly released track taken from VULTURE INDUSTRIES' upcoming album 'Ghosts from the Past', is very apropos of the situation in which the world finds itself today.

You can hear it by streaming or downloading it from the service of your choice, HERE

Written at a time when the band was undergoing considerable changes in their personal lives, coupled with the arrival of the Pandemic, and all the turmoil that went with it, VULTURE INDUSTRIES' fifth full-length album. 'Ghosts from the Past', understandably took longer than normal to write.

Despite struggling to find a sense of direction, the band's lineup of Bjørnar Erevik Nilsenon vocals and keys, Eivind Huse on guitars and vocals, Øyvind Madsen on guitars, Kyrre Teigen on bass and vocals, and Tor Helge Gjengedal on drums , have produced an album that is essentially a piece of their collective soul.

It was a struggle well worth undergoing because the band's fifth full-length album is their strongest to date, and  marks a new direction for VULTURE INDUSTRIES, one that tends more towards the darker side of hard rock but which still maintains their unique and unmistakable sound.

'Ghosts from the Past' draws on a kaleidoscope of influences; from dust-riddled Spaghetti Westerns accompanied by Ennio Morricone, past the monochrome melancholia of apocalyptic post punk, through deep valleys and steep hills shrouded in progressive darkness, and a Nordic Noir looking to solve the unexplained murder of the truth.

It mirrors all that was going on around it, and reflects the fear of a world spinning out of control, and the sense of powerlessness in the face of a world order that is falling apart. Only to be replaced by old ideas imposed by autocratic warlords with no goal in mind other than their own power and legacy.

Recorded at the Conclave & Earshot Studios, 'Ghosts from the Past' was produced by the band and mastered by Tony Lindgren at Fascination Street. Album artwork by Kim Holm and artwork for the singles by Costin Chioreanu.

VULTURE INDUSTRIES are:

Bjørnar Nilsen – Vocals, Keys

Øyvind Madsen – Guitar

Ryman Auditorium unveiled the latest addition to its Icon Walk this morning with a statue honoring American music icon Charley Pride. The detailed bronze likeness was added to the permanent outdoor exhibition on the historic venue’s grounds ensuring the country music trailblazer will forever remain part of the Soul of Nashville.

Created as a way to honor those who have made significant contributions to the historic venue and Music City, Pride’s statue joins likenesses of beloved legends Loretta Lynn, Little Jimmy Dickens and Bill Monroe, three of the most profound musical innovators in country and bluegrass music.

Pride's beloved wife of over 60 years Rozene Pride and Charley's son Dion Pride were in attendance for the unveiling.

“He has often been called the Jackie Robinson of country music,” Rozene shared with the crowd gathered for the statue unveiling. “The only difference was Jackie Robinson was picked for the role. Pride picked country music because he loved it and that was his life.”

Addressing the large group of fans in attendance Dion added, “He loved his fans – in fact, his fans drove him. All of you drove him. You are the reason why he was the success he was. Everything he did was for you.”

The Ryman team collaborated once again with artist Ben Watts, the talent behind the existing three statues for the tribute to Pride which took a year to create.

"Charley Pride broke barriers and defied stereotypes, becoming one of the most successful and beloved country music artists of all time,” said Ryman Hospitality Properties Executive Chairman Colin Reed. “The Ryman Icon Walk honors not only his contributions and the groundwork he laid for countless other artists in country music, but also to the Ryman, where he performed many times throughout his career. Charley’s influence will always be felt throughout the entire Nashville community, and his addition to the Ryman Icon Walk is our way of paying tribute to his incredible talent and enduring legacy."

Visitors can find Pride standing at the northwest corner of the building near the venue’s driveway on Fifth Avenue next to the likeness of “Coal Miner’s Daughter” Loretta Lynn and Bill Monroe, the Father of Bluegrass Music. Country music’s Little Jimmy Dickens stands atop the Ryman’s main steps facing Fourth Avenue, greeting each and every ticket holder and tour-taker as they arrive. Monroe’s likeness is flanked by a Tennessee Historical Commission marker describing the night Bluegrass Music took the stage at the Ryman for the first time in 1945.

During his 50+ years as a recording artist, Pride enjoyed one of the most successful careers in country music history and is credited with helping break color barriers by becoming the first black superstar within the genre.

A global sensation, he sold tens of millions of records worldwide with his large repertoire of hits. A three-time GRAMMY® award and Recording Academy “Lifetime Achievement Award” winner, Pride garnered 41 chart-topping country hits, including “Kiss An Angel Good Morning,” a massive No. 1 crossover hit that sold over a million singles and helped Pride land the Country Music Association’s “Entertainer of the Year” award in 1971 and the “Top Male Vocalist'' awards of 1971 and 1972.

A proud member of the Grand Ole Opry, Pride performed concerts worldwide and toured the United States, Canada, Ireland, the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand over the course of his career. In recent years, he received the Crossroads Of American Music Award at the 2019 GRAMMY Museum® Mississippi Gala and the Country Music Association’s Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award one year later in November 2020.

On December 12, 2020, Pride died at the age of 86 from complications due to COVID-19. In 2021, CMT celebrated his life and impact as a musical pioneer with CMT Giants: Charley Pride. His memory and storied legacy continue to live on through his vast library of stories and songs, with forthcoming plans for a number of posthumous projects.

ABOUT BLACK TUSK:

There was blood, maybe a few tears too, but more than anything, it was sweat that marks this brand new release of BLACK TUSK, 'TCBT.'

Their previous full-length, 'Pillars of Ash,' sadly had to appear posthumously for one member as the band had tragically lost their charismatic bass-player, Jonathan Athon, through a motorcycle accident. With a heavy heart, BLACK TUSK decided to honor Athon's memory by carrying on and recruiting veteran musician and already long-time friend Corey Barhorst (EX-KYLESA) to take over his duties on the low end.

Now with the sixth studio album, 'TCBT,' BLACK TUSK show the world they lived through the kind of hardship and heartbreak that would cripple a lesser band. It’s their dedication, gumption, and pure bullheaded stubbornness that took care of business, keeps taking care of business, and Taking Care of Black Tusk.

Resiliency. The trials we face in life define who we are. Sleep Signals has been no stranger to adversity throughout their career, having dealt with a plethora of misfortunes culminating with a devastating bus wreck in 2021. During a tour with POD and From Ashes To New, the band’s bus was hit by a semi truck, destroying all of their equipment and causing severe injuries to several members. But through all of the setbacks, the band has remained dedicated to sharing their story and bringing their unique perspective to the rock/metal genre.

Blending their ability to create strong hooks with their high-energy song-writing style, the band manages to meld influences ranging from pop to hardcore, creating a soundscape that leads the listener on a journey filled with raw emotion. When you hear a song, you feel the song.

After an extended hiatus in 2021, the band returned to the stage in late 2022 and immediately began selling out shows across the Pacific Northwest. In 2023, the band was back in full force, touring nationally supporting the release of a new single, “One Life.” The single is heavily influenced by the challenges the group most recently experienced and follows up the band’s 2020 radio single, “Fireproof,” that climbed the charts, landing on Sirius XM’s Octane and over 80 FM stations across the U.S.

“Sleep Signals embodies the same DIY hustling ethic that Ice Nine Kills has used since the beginning. Great songs, and a work ethic that is quickly making this band stand out" says Spencer Charnas of (Ice Nine Kills).

Alex Varkatzas (Ex-Atreyu) adds, “Seeing Sleep Signals' tireless work ethic and energetic live shows nightly, it’s only a matter of time before this band is a household name."

Incendiary Share New Single "Echo of Nothing" — LISTEN

NEW ALBUM CHANGE THE WAY YOU THINK ABOUT PAIN OUT MAY 26 VIA CLOSED CASKET ACTIVITIES

INCENDIARY — Brendan Garrone, vocals; Brian Audley, guitar; Rob Nobile, guitar; and Dan Lomeli, drums — recently announced their new album Change The Way You Think About Pain. It arrives on May 26 via Closed Casket Activities. Pre-order it here.

Today, the band has shared "Echo of Nothing." Listen to the song, which probes a politically significant topic, below.

""Echo of Nothing' was inspired by the migrant crisis in the EU stemming from the conflicts in Syria and Libya, among others," the band states. "The struggles and prejudice these individuals faced when coming ashore is well-documented. Less well-known is the plight of those who were captured en route and brought back to their home country, only to be held in prisons and labor camps under inhumane conditions. The song looks at how this mistreatment often breeds resentment, contempt and, ultimately, violence."

Armed with crushing metallic riffs, instantly both fresh and familiar, Incendiary populate each of their four full-length albums with irresistibly energized rhythms and adrenalized urgency. Change The Way You Think About Pain is their leanest and unapologetically meanest yet. The quartet weaned on the Long Island, New York, hardcore scene have more to say than ever. Sharply biting and insightful lyrics sit atop blunt metalcore in a perfect soundtrack to throw a brick through a window.

Incendiary deliver a sound of its own, mixing classic passion and modern power. Frontman Brendan Garrone, guitarists Brian Audley and Rob Nobile, and drummer Dan Lomeli cite East Coast hardcore heroes like Vision Of Disorder, 108, Indecision, and Glassjaw as part of Incendiary's formative DNA. Less familiar listeners might liken them to a very heavy Rage Against The Machine.

The band returned to Will Putney of Graphic Nature Audio (Knocked Loose, Every Time I Die, Vein.fm) to engineer, mix and master the new release. Many essential genre bands never made a second album, let alone a fourth. "We are kind of in rare territory being a hardcore band on their fourth LP," Garrone concedes. "It feels like a milestone. By now, you're either 'supposed' to drastically change your sound or have it be the exact same thing as the record before," he adds. "We didn't want to do either of those things. Our focus was on refining the sound that we've optimally been working towards rather than any desire to make a huge pivot." Audley says that in addition to the more focused songwriting on Change The Way You Think About Pain, "we also wanted it to be more aggressive and more abrasive, in terms of songs and production."

Thematically, Incendiary's fourth album confronts the hyper-polarization of American society, those who confuse selfishness with freedom, and the lengths we'll go to in order to avoid pain and maintain comfort. The socio-political pulse found throughout Cost of Living remains, with a deeper exploration of the introspective personal lyrics Garrone started to introduce on Thousand Mile Stare. "The album is a mix of both the socio-politically driven content and darker, more personalized subjects. The album title is meant to conjure the concept of pain avoidance," Garrone explains. "Most of the songs have some kind of tie back to the things everyone does to avoid feeling any semblance of pain. 'Pain avoidance' is a phrase me and Brian came across and kept in the back of our minds."

Englund) of The Hobbitfilm trilogy underlines the tragic story through melodic folk vocal lines and rousing guitar riff choirs.

Like the seven untamed seas, the melodies appear in energetic and rousing waves, while others head towards the shore in an exciting, elegant and soulful rhythm. Deep within the scorching cauldron of Texas, the alchemists of Necrofier have brewed another potent dose of American black metal with their sophomore full-length, ‘Burning Shadows in the Southern Night.’ The Houston four-piece honors the time-tested virtues of traditional black and heavy metal, even taking an organic sonic approach, tapping seven-time Grammy-nominated producer and engineer Joel Hamilton (Unsane, Tom Waits, Tyler Bryant & The Shakedown, etc.) to lend his magic touch for a natural sound.

“The goal going into the new record was to start setting ourselves apart from our contemporaries,” explains Necrofier drummer Dobber Beverly. “One of those ways was changing what the record sounded like. Moving away from the clinical and sterile nature that most productions suffer from and back into a real room with real instruments and performances. Our friend and esteemed producer/engineer Joel Hamilton had expressed interest in venturing back into the metal world and offered to make the record with us at his facility, Studio G Brooklyn. With a full vintage Neve front end and a host of Telefunken and Neumann microphones we tracked a record the old way, mostly. The results will speak for themselves hopefully, as this record breathes and spits fire wherever it’s played.”

“Joel is one of the world's best engineers,” adds Necrofier guitarist and vocalist Bakka. “Dobber and Joel have become good friends since they recorded the last Oceans of Slumber album with him. After that, Joel wanted to record something heavy, so we made the trip to New York City to record in his legendary studio. It was an amazing experience in a great studio; besides having all the gear, he also created an environment where we challenged ourselves and brough everything up to the next level.”

‘Burning Shadows in the Southern Night’ doesn’t just simply pick off where Necrofier’s debut album left off, but displays a conscientious effort to double down on the elements that made ‘Prophecies of Eternal Darkness’ successful. The solos are more plentiful and intricate, the hooks are more anthemic, and the overall musicianship is bolder and more daring. Speaking of the band’s evolution, Bakka explains, “I think this collection of songs represents us very well. We have grown together as a band and it shows in the new songs. Also, for this record we flew to NYC and recorded all day long for 10 days straight. I love recording this way because it captures a certain magic. The whole band is immersed in the process and it's all we would think, do, live and breathe during the process.”

Another core facet of Necrofier’s allure is being a black metal band from Texas. “Where you live always helps shape someone,” says Bakka. “It helps shape our style and tone in ways, it’s hot most of the year, so as we burn, it gives us warmer tones and more of a heavy metal influence than when compared to our brothers from the North. Also, Texas has a style all of its own; everything is heavier, louder and we are always trying to outdo the rest of the world.”
To that avail, Necrofier isn’t your typical black metal band, and so this isn’t your typical black metal record as there’s a healthy amount of traditional metal influences, particularly within the guitar work. While conceptually, the band doesn’t heavily rely on Satanic themes, exploring deeper human philosophies and the occult like burning for your dreams or spiraling out on a psychedelic trip and exploring the beyond. “While there isn’t overt satanic worship in the lyrics, I would still say that he is a friend of ours,” Bakka cheekily says. “There are Occult themes on this record, but at the same time, it does take a philosophical approach.”

Further illustrating the influence of their environment, Necrofier also heavily explores one of Southern America’s most fabled myths. “The new record touches on selling your soul at the crossroads,” adds Bakka. “I like to take a different approach and touch on the elements of the esoteric world and dive into the forbidden or hidden that surrounds us in our lives every day.”
As the Texan black metal outlaws saddle up for record two, they are leading the charge as one of the contemporary purveyors of black metal revivalism. ‘Burning Shadows in the Southern Night’ is certain to elicit a sense of nostalgia for those who dare to lay ears on this vicious new offering.

Michael Ray's Smoky Country: Discretion + Triple Entendres

MICHAEL RAY RETURNS
True Country Turns of Phrase & Life on “Get Her Back”
Working with Producer Michael Knox, He Refines His Kinda Country

Michael Ray’s love of country music is well-documented. From 69 appearances at the Grand Ole Opry and a black belt in jukebox songs, the dark-haired vocalist from the heart of Florida understands that real country music often distills the hard stuff in ways that lend insight and community to life’s turns and twists.

After a break post-COVID, the likable songwriter knew he wanted to dig deeper and find higher ground with his music. But he also knew he didn’t want to lose that ‘80s/’90s edge that had captured his imagination as a kid growing up in the rural part of the Sunshine State, just beyond where Disneyworld turns to horse country, orange groves, swamps and cow pastures.

Enter Michael Knox, the Macon, Georgia-born publishing exec, who came to prominence producing Jason Aldean’s hard-charging albums. Beyond his award-winning work throughout Aldean’s career, he’s helped elevate full-on country-made-for-men multiple ACM Award winner Trace Adkins and CMA Duo of the Year Montgomery Gentry.

“I knew Michael could get to the sound in my head,” Ray says. “I would think about how country music sounded to me as a boy, how big it felt and real. It was big more than it was loud – and the songs were always things nobody ever talked about, ever wanted to be caught in the middle of, but, well, there they were coming out of the radio.”

Together the pair started on what would become Dive Bars & Broken Hearts, an updated old school EP due June 23. More robust and full-bodied, this music is the product of the kind of places where the carpet’s a bit soggy, the beer’s cold and the bar’s got some nicks in it. To that end, these songs serve as a lighter held up to the power of capturing how life is never smooth.

Teasing the collection is the triple entendre “Get Her Back,” a taut song as smoky as it is haunting. Beyond the instinct to fix what’s wrong and the human reflex of striking out, there’s a subtler layer of getting to the heart of being human. It’s not about the falling apart or who said what as much as the emotions of anyone trying to make sense of the fall-out.

“Nobody wants to talk about all the emotions you feel, shock, anger, wanting to know why, or even wanting something bad to happen... because then there’s the letting go,” Ray explains. “It’s so many different things, all falling together really fast. But in the end, why bother? Like the song says, ‘I wasn’t raised like that...’

“I think ‘Get Her Back’ speaks for a lot of people who don’t wanna talk about it, you know? Most of us have all these emotions, feel all kinds of things – and we’re expected to act like we’re good or everything’s fine. You hear people talk, but if you respected whatever it was you had, feel it, but don’t feed the fire. That’s what’s at the heart of this song. For anyone out there like me, know we see you. It’s cool. But know you did the right thing...”

As the beat slinks and guitars descend, a sweltering vocal works against the drums. Never denying any of the feelings, but refusing to act, “Get Her Back” watches the aftermath with half detachment, half numbness and arrives at the reality that after all of it, perhaps the last thing the narrator wants would be to get her back.

About Michael Ray
Forged on the small stages of Florida’s rural communities, Michael Ray has created  an impressive foundation. Four No. 1 songs – RIAA Platinum-certified “Think a Little Less,” RIAA Platinum-certified “Whiskey And Rain,” RIAA Gold-certified “Kiss You in the Morning,” RIAA Gold-certified “One That Got Away” -- with over 1 billion global streams, over 650,000 album equivalents, and over 150 million YouTube views, he is a true country star who’s performed at the Grand Ole Opry more than 65 times. Looking to expand his sound, Ray sought out CMA Album of the Year Award-winning producer Michael Knox. The pair have taken his brand of country to a new level for Dive Bars & Broken Hearts, Ray’s six song EP arriving June 23 via Warner Music Nashville. Colorado's A SHORELINE DREAM presents dark expansive journey on 'Driveaway' single

"Shadowy and storming dreaminess" Stereo Embers Magazine

Iconic shoegaze / postpunk outfit A Shoreline Dream presents 'Driveaway', a track that truly spells what A Shoreline Dream is all about. A song meant to drive to. A song that flows and wants to be put on repeat. Full of sea drenched layers and huge expanses.

Filmed in Barnum and Central City, Colorado, Jessica Halpine stars in this dark journey of a video, which was filmed, directed and edited by Ryan Policky with costumes by Tiffany Smyth and Jessica Halpine.

This is the latest audio-visual offering from their sixth full-length album 'Loveblind' album, released via Latenight Weeknight Records, which dives into recollections and past desires while looking forward in a wash of soundwaves towards a blinding future. With 40 minutes of goth-laced progressive soundscapes, this album features immense synth layers, the band's signature guitar and symphonic vocals.

Having changed lineups over the years, A Shoreline Dream since forming in 2005, today ASD revolves around multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Ryan Policky and guitarist Erik Jeffries. Their legacy became even more lush owing to collaborations with legends such as Ulrich Schnauss, Mark Kramer and The Engineers. The band also opened for Chapterhouse for their very final appearance.

"After many months of pushing ourselves through the pandemic, we came up with this early on in the exploration of the 'Loveblind' album. The visual concept is based on a lot of what has been happening to people just going about their normal everyday lives, only to be now forcefully expelled from feeling any sense of freedom. Now that many are getting back to our pre-pandemic lives, we’re finding ourselves in an entirely new situation. A situation where lines are constantly crossed, art is overly scrutinized, and people are at each others throats trying to separate themselves to try and reset their entire existence. Computers and technology advances are faster than we can control, and our realities are being changed at every moment by a whole new way of living. Some are giving up," says Ryan Policky.

"Some are using it as a way to escape. Others are just moving into a hibernation state. In the video this is entirely the case. A person expelled by an unknown force. Something that is part artificial, and mostly real. A state of dreamy and a state of confusion. We follow along as it all blends together in a place from distant past. A place where we all find ourselves eventually."

The pandemic has taken its toll on our mental well-being and the perception of money and power has blown previous years away. Dying to get back to the good times and moments of pure, unscathed lust, we long for new experiences to sweep us off our feet. 'Loveblind' reaches for that same energy, taking cues from previous A Shoreline Dream works, drawing from their progressive goth roots. Layers of moodiness, blissful explosions of rock and chugging tempo mix with the pain, love, hope and moments of near death experienced while creating the album itself.

"The video was shot on location in Barnum, Colorado, involving one of my favorite treks up in the mountains - the Central City Graveyard on the far end of town, hidden at the top of a mountain, buried in layers of trees with nonstop exploration. I utilized a bit of machine learning techniques to bring that element of out-of-control computer advancements, while merging in the lore of witches being cast away in the wardrobe stylings by Artsmyths, Inc., who helped pull together the style for our recent 'Loveblind' and 'Harlow Syndrome' videos," says Ryan Policky.

The 'Loveblind' LP is out now digitally, available everywhere, including Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp. The band have already started working on new material, and expect to be able to make an announcement about this soon.
