Saliva Guitarist Wayne Swinny Passes Away From Spontaneous Brain Hemorrhage While on Tour

It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Wayne Swinny, the guitarist of Saliva. Wayne passed away this afternoon from a Spontaneous brain hemorrhage while on tour promoting their new single "High on Me." Wayne will be missed by all those who knew him.

"I’m not even sure what to think or how to feel right now. My heart aches for Wayne’s family, his friends, and anyone who had the joy of being around him. My heart aches for his daughter Nikki. He loved that little girl so much. He was a Guitar Hero onstage with all the Rock ‘N’ Roll swag that most guitar players dream of. Offstage he was a proud father, an Ancient Aliens expert, and an incredible human who had zero enemies! He would go out of his way to make sure you had a good time. I’m grateful that I got to share almost 12 years of my life with Wayne on the stage and most importantly off the stage. He was the older brother I never had. I learned so much from him and we had a fucking blast together! I will cherish it all for the rest of my life! God Bless you Wayne. I know we’ll meet again!!" - Bobby Amaru

After acquiring front man Bobby Amaru in 2011, Saliva became infused with new blood, energy, and spirit. The same energy launched Saliva’s career in 2001 with the release, Every Six Seconds – a certified Double Platinum-selling album, containing the hits, “Click Click Boom” and 2002 Grammy nominated, “Your Disease.” Saliva’s in-your-face, anthemic writing style continued with a certified Gold-selling album Back in to Your System with hits: “Always,” “Raise Up,” and the Nikki Sixx co-written, “Rest In Pieces.”

Upon adding former Shinedown and Fuel bassist, Brad Stewart, as a permanent member, Saliva solidified their new lineup consisting of: Wayne Swinny, Sammi Jo Bishop and Amaru.

Kenny Chesney Leaves The Steel Mill; I GO BACK Kicks Off THIS Thursday

WORKING IN A STEEL MILL

Kenny Wraps Week of All Teams Rehearsals...
Bringing Surprise Songs, Lights, Video & Band Together

I Go Back 2023 Kicks-Off This Thursday, March 23
at John Paul Jones Arena in Charlottesville, Va.

Nobody takes locking in a show as seriously as Kenny Chesney, who brought all of his teams together for a week of tweaking video and aligning light cues at the Steel Mill just north of Nashville. For the crew, band and tour staff, the final rehearsals brought all the teams together for the first time since wrapping Chesney’s record-setting Here And Now 2022 Tour with two nights at Foxboro, Mass.’s Gillette Stadium last August.

“It always feels good when we have our road family back together,” Chesney said of the week. “A lot happens over the winter, so we’re catching up. But we’re also figuring out how to put all the pieces together, trying to make it something that’s really special. Obviously last year’s tour rocked harder than anything we’ve done, which is crazy to me, but I wanted to bring that passion and energy to all these special cities where we don’t get to go very often.”

After one of 2022’s biggest tours in any genre – having the fifth biggest tour after only Bad Bunny, Elton John, Motley Crue/Def Leppard and Harry Styles – the songwriter/superstar from East Tennessee wanted to take this music that’s been the soundtrack to coming of age in the 21st century to the fans in those places where it all began.

Named for the No. 1 song that celebrated the way a song can transport you to places that defined who you are and created a time stamp for life, the I Go Back 2023 Tour kicks off this week in Charlottesville, Va. It’s a very special tour for the man the Wall Street Journal deemed “The King of the Road,” who’s committed to ensuring that every person who loved this music and found their life in his songs gets to witness the incredible live experience that made 2022 one incredible summer.

“And there are going to be some real surprises in the set list,” he teases. “A couple songs we’ve not played in a long time... the opportunity to sing our Vocal Event ‘half of my hometown’ with Kelsea makes me happy. And a few songs are being left behind. I spent the months off thinking about how we can change things up. I think we’ve got a lot of the songs people want to hear, but we’re adding a couple that nobody sees coming. I can’t wait to see the response.”

I Go Back 2023 is in many ways a gift to the fans. His Here And Now 2022 Tour, which played to 1.3 million people and broke his personal best at many of the 21 stadium plays, was one for the books. The only country artist to make Billboard’s Top 10 Touring Acts of the Past 25 Years for the last 14, Chesney never forgets who he was or where he came from.

“Getting inside those arenas that we never forgot, playing in some of those cities that were just wild when this started, bringing all the energy we had last year, I can’t imagine how alive it’s gonna be, but I fully intend to find out. The thing about No Shoes Nation I know: they bring us every bit of their heart – so we try to give even more than they do, which is saying something.”

With close to 30 songs on the list – and a few surprises depending on the night, I Go Back 2023 is Chesney as intimate as he’s ever been. But it’s also just as powerful as the biggest venues.

I Go Back 2023, with special guest Kelsea Ballerini, is presented by Blue Chair Bay® Rum.

SINGER/SONGWRITER FAITH MARIE IS ALLOWING HERSELF TO LET GO OF HER DEMONS WITH THE RELEASE OF “MORE THAN I AM”

Singer-Songwriter Faith Marie, has released her single “More Than I Am,” today. Released in collaboration with the label UUin, “More Than I am” is the perfect chapter to close out her debut EP. Written by Faith, “More Than I Am” is about the process of allowing yourself to let go of your inner demons. She elaborates; “up until now, this EP has been about delving into my darkness, whereas this single expresses how it was a struggle for me to let go of my demons because I was worried it was the only thing that made people connect with me. If I lost that, I wasn’t sure who I’d be. I built a whole world on this darkness and I felt like healing was betraying that, but the truth is, I’m so much more than my

darkness as well as my healing. Sometimes we get tunnel vision and forget that no matter what you believe, we are truly a part of this infinite universe and we’re not tied to any sort of emotion or anything for that matter. Remembering that from time to time can really put things into perspective and help to have deep self-compassion.”

The sound of “More Than I Am” was executed to encapsulate the meaning of this song and the existentialism of it. A lot of elements are felt, not heard, and Faith wrote these lyrics with a vision for people to listen and immerse themselves into a full experience. “More Than I Am” intertwines darkness with the bass and synths, alongside brighter elements such as the lead harp. This juxtaposition is meant to convey the feeling of acceptance of pain and confusion, while also giving a glimpse of hope while the song is evolving in that direction. Faith states; The bridge is one of my favorite parts of a song I’ve ever written, because it’s everything I’ve wanted to say to my listeners who experience deep pain and trauma. The music with the choir helps bring a very ethereal element to it that is meant to grab those people's attention and hopefully help them to absorb the message. I really hope that my listeners take this song to heart and listen to it as if I’m saying it to them, because I had every person that’s reached out to me with their similar experiences in mind when I wrote this. You’re more than your pain, you’re more than your experiences and you have so much to offer the world.”

Hailing from Provo, Utah, Faith’s foray into songwriting began at the age of 13, launching a successful YouTube channel that attracted over 121,000 subscribers over the next five years, in addition to over 80 million Spotify and Youtube streams combined. Inspired by the likes of My Chemical Romance, Paramore, and Brockhampton, Faith pushes herself creatively when it comes to genre-bending. In 2015, her love for artists that seamlessly cross genres led her to posting a cover of Bring Me The Horizon's “Drown,” which immediately went viral and is currently sitting at 5M views. “Bring Me The Horizon has always been the most inspiring to me because they don’t care about upholding a genre or appeasing specific types of fans that listen to them, they do what inspires them” Faith states.

The virality of this cover catapulted her into the release of her debut single “Antidote,” which Faith wrote and self-produced. Now, 7 years later, Faith has released multiple singles ranging from the orchestrally adorned “Little Girl” and the electronic-laced “Devil on My Shoulder,” each dealing with themes of struggle, anxiety and hope. Faith is constantly working to perfect her craft of songwriting with each release, and is also currently pursuing a bachelors in audio engineering. She elaborates “I’m on a lifelong mission to master as much of the music creation process as possible.”

Producer and UUin, Inc. label head Amyn Bhai, who has worked with Faith since she was 13 explains, "Faith first wrote the lyrics to the entire song, as she always does, and had some initial production ideas. We then took the songs and built the production out with our friends at Slowave Studios, where she also recorded the vocals. It was later polished and mixed with Steve Phillips, our engineer. On her new EP, people can expect more honesty in song form. The production direction is tailor-made for her, and the writing is 100% how she is feeling in the moment translated into song form. Faith has significantly grown as is natural with time passing."

THY CATAFALQUE Announces New Album, Reveals First Song

Avant-garde project THY CATAFALQUE will be releasing its latest opus 'Alföld,' via Season of Mist on June 16, 2023. In celebration, THY CATAFALQUE is now releasing the very first track "Néma vermek," along with a dark and thought-provoking music video. The video can be found below.

Mastermind Tamás Kátai comments: "Alföld is the most straight forward and classic extreme metal album the project ever recorded. This time I just wanted to do metal without any innovation or progression, focusing on songs and riffs rather than experimenting and breaking new grounds. Had to let the old ideas out, so I did it with enjoyment. 'Alföld' means 'The Great Plains,' a massive flat part of South-East Hungary where I was born and raised and we shot the video for 'Néma vermek' in the middle of the barren lands, in Makó-Bogárzó."

Pre-orders for 'Alföld' are now available HERE, while the album can be pre-saved HERE

THY CATAFALQUE is a metamorphic entity that’s constantly evolving, showcasing musical ingenuity that’s as limitless as it is daring. Meaning “The Great Plains,” ‘Alföld’ is grounded in the Avant Garde project’s heavy beginnings. While the record takes a cue from THY CATAFALQUE’s early days, mastermind Tamás Kátai’s modern progressive instincts shine through, elevating the record beyond the realm of metal as-you-know-it and once again creating a cutting-edge sound that’s far ahead of its time.

"'Alföld' is the most straight forward and classic extreme metal album the project ever recorded," says mastermind Tamás Kátai. "This time I just wanted to do metal without any innovation or progression, focusing on songs and riffs rather than experimenting and breaking new grounds. Had to let the old ideas out, so I did it with enjoyment. Alföld means The Great Plains, a massive flat part of South-East Hungary where I was born and raised and we shot the video for Néma vermek in the middle of the barren lands, in Makó-Bogárzó."

Originally, THY CATAFALQUE emerged as a black metal band founded by singer/keyboard player Tamás Kátai with the aid of guitarist/bassist János Juhász. Following their joined debut ‘Sublunary Tragedies’ (1999), the Hungarians evolved into quite different directions, but steadily gaining more followers in the process through the following albums, ‘Microcosmos’ (2001) and the self-released ‘Tűnő idő tárlat’ (2004).

On their fourth full-length, ‘Róka hasa Rádió’ (2009), THY CATAFALQUEinvited Ágnes Tóth from neo-folk outfit THE MOON AND THE NIGHTSPIRIT and Attila Bakos to add their haunting vocals. With fifth album ‘Rengeteg’ (2011), Tamás Kátai finally went solo with the help of guest musicians that again included Ágnes Tóth an Attila Bakos. Dubbing his eclectic musical amalgamation avant-garde metal, the Hungarian explored new sonic possibilities with ‘Sgùrr’ (2015). The sixth full-length turned out to be slightly more complex than its successor, ‘Meta’ (2016), which returned to a more direct approach without losing the steadily growing sonic diversity. In 2018, THY CATAFALQUE continued this path with the release of ‘Geometria’. THY CATAFALQUE delivered another spectacular musical mosaic with their ninth full-length entitled ‘Naiv’, inspired by the “Naïve Art” movement.

In 2021, THY CATAFALQUE return with ‘Vadak’. Meaning “Wildlings” in Hungarian, the album title is a deliberate clue to the exotic and feral essence of ‘Vadak.’ Like seedlings scattered throughout the forest by the mere forces of nature, THY CATAFALQUE’s imaginative sound grows with an organic sense of whimsy, cultivated within the vast influences of our megacosm. Thematically, ‘Vadak’ is a foreboding lesson in mortality. Emphasizing the fragility that is shared by man and beast alike, the record explores our Freudian life instincts, in which we inherently fear and run from the ultimate goal of existence: death.

Now, the visionary is looking to the past as it journeys onward and upward with its latest opus, which is just as familiar as it is forward-thinking, certain to mesmerize a vast swath of metal enthusiasts across all genres.

He even rocked the main stage at 2016 Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival.

In 2018, Grinders Signature Sauces launched both Grinders BBQ Sauce & Grinders Meat RUB, a BBQ seasoning (& a treat for your meat) that won top 5 honors at the American Royal, (out of nearly 600 entrants from 23 nations). While they were there, the Grinders Competition BBQ TEAM achieved a rare “perfect score” in the Chicken category.

STRETCH collaborated with the rock band BLACK OXYGEN on both a multi-festival nominated short film Life Is Beautiful as well as co-creating another award winning KC Style BBQ sauce branded as “Bangin BBQ.”

2023 promises to be a banner year, as STRETCH works to bring fresh new content to broadcast and streaming television, creating new public art, chasing after his adorable nine year-old twins (nicknamed “the Mugwamps”), developing & hosting exciting new TV shows, growing the “Grinders by STRETCH” restaurant brand, and slow-smoking some award-winning Competition BBQ on the National KCBS BBQ Circuit.

Another Day Dawns Get "Bitter" With Video For Explosive New Single — WATCH

Pennsylvania band Another Day Dawns — singer Dakota Sean, guitarist Tyler Ritter, bassist Jerome Betz, and drummer Nick McGeehan — have shared the video for their crackling new single "Bitter." Watch the clip, directed by Max Portnoy (drummer for Code Orange, Tallah).

"'Bitter' really goes to the root of uncomfortable situations with people in our lives that never get addressed, and there's just this kinda 'off' feeling about them," Sean explains, offering insight into the track. "In this case, it's a parental figure that left at a young age, which made me go through life in a bitter way. As I've gotten older, I've learned that separation really is the best defense in these scenarios. But unfortunately, that 'what if' will always be in the back of your mind."

Another Day Dawns will spend the spring touring with Bush and Breaking Benjamin. They will also support Filter for a spate of dates at the end of May. All dates are below.

ABOUT ANOTHER DAY DAWNS:
ANOTHER DAY DAWNS continue their ascent as one of the most exciting portents of heavy rock with the release of their new single and Century Media debut, "Bitter." The band, along with producer Steve Sopchak (Ice Nine Kills. Motionless In White) and mixer Jeff Dunne (Brand of Sacrifice, Ice Nine Kills), brings together a pummeling riffiness and unforgettable sense of melody that defines the Wilkes-Barre, PA-based band as a force to be reckoned with.

"Bitter" is the next step for ANOTHER DAY DAWNS, who began making a racket of their own as high school aged friends in 2010. Countless electric and acoustic shows later, opening for the likes of Sevendust, Starset, and Atreyu as well as rock festivals including Aftershock, Blue Ridge, and Louder Than Life, they've honed themselves into a powerhouse in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic region. The independent release of their 2018 EP, A Different Life, landed them a charting spot on Billboard's rock charts which solidified their foundation in the active rock market, while the singles "Taste of Heaven" and "Forget Me Not" from  2020's Stranger EP release were mainstays on the Mediabase Active Rock chart as well as DSP Playlists.

Presently finishing their first full length for Century Media with Sopchak and Dunne, ANOTHER DAY DAWNS are gearing up for their first full-fledged arena tour with Breaking Benjamin and Bush (4/26-5/23) and a club jaunt with Filter (5/26-6/3) with festivals including Louder Than Life (9/23) already on the books. In 2023, the next generation of rock has a new face — ANOTHER DAY DAWNS.

SUMERIAN COMICS and THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN Team Up For Brand New Graphic Novel, ONE OF US IS THE KILLER.

Sumerian Comics announced today ONE OF US IS THE KILLER, a brand new graphic novel inspired by the 2013 fifth studio album from mathcore band, The Dillinger Escape Plan and from Rock & Roll Hell creators, Sam Romesburg and Ben Roberts, visionary artist Greg Di Angilla (Rock & Roll Hell), and colorist Warnia Sahadewa (Doctor Who).

Speaking on todays' announcement, Dillinger Escape Plan founder and guitarist, Ben Weinman shares

"The 'One of Us Is the Killer' collaboration with Sumerian Records remains one of The D.E.P's most artistically ambitious achievements to this day. Seeing Ash Avildsen and the creative team at the newly founded Sumerian Comics, use this album as the influence for another equally ambitious artistic endeavor is amazing. I can't wait to hold one of these things in my hands, just like I did with the many comic books I enjoyed as a kid."

A string of assassinations made by a politically-motivated killer known only to the public as The Quill serves as the spark to ignite a full scale revolution. Set in a technologically advanced American City in the not too distant future, VERTICAL INTEGRATION CORP. has seized all means of production and capital available, creating a financial synergy unlike any that has ever existed. Employees work and live in this living city-sized factory supporting the lives of the ruling business class while subjected to living in tenements. The Quill is the never-seen but oft spoken hero of the lower-class.

Writers Ben Roberts and Sam Romesburg stated they were inspired to take the intention behind the album title and use it to form a story focusing on a relationship larger than that of which exists between two people, and focus on a relationship between a government and its people. The writers pulled multiple references from the album that fans of the band will be able to catch on to, while also allowing several themes from the songs themselves influence the trajectory of the story.

ONE OF US IS THE KILLER features main cover art by series artist Greg Di Angilla and colors by series colorist, Warnia Sahadewa. Bundles will be available soon from Sumerian Comics containing various items that complement the physical hardback.

Limited twenty-two page preview copies of ONE OF US IS THE KILLER will be available at WonderCon in Anaheim, CA and The Dillinger Escape Plan guitarist, Ben Weinman will be signing copies at 1pm PST on March 26th.

About Ben Weinman

Ben Weinman is the founder and sole constant member throughout the band’s career, and is currently playing rhythm guitar with Suicidal Tendencies and the supergroup Giraffe Tongue Orchestra. Ben also has an animal sanctuary at his home in New Jersey and is in development on a children’s 2D animated series: Jupiter Rocks! The 52 x 11′ musical comedy for upper preschool (ages four to seven) is set for delivery in Q2 2025.

Jupiter Rocks! follows the life of a guitar-playing seven-year-old whose life is uprooted when her mom becomes Earth’s Planet Ambassador to Jupiter. Penelope meets many challenges as she navigates living in a wacky new world, but uses humor, and her natural musical abilities to solve daily obstacles with her new group of friends. Speaking on the project, Weinman comments

“We created Jupiter Rocks! (JR) to not only showcase diversity and inclusion but to show our children that it is often our differences that become strengths! Every episode promises an exciting adventure where our main character and her friends solve their problems with creative and musical solutions. Much like I did growing up in an educational system that often didn’t reward the more ‘Right Brain’ kids out there. Our goal is also to create programming that can be enjoyed and discussed by both children and their parents, creating an opportunity for connection that will last a lifetime.”

The Stone Eye Announce Their New Single "Not My Circus"

The Stone Eye Release Their New Single "NOT MY CIRCUS". The Stone Eye is that spot on the sun that burns a memory into each layer of immersive sound. Not to be placed in a box, their stylistic music continues to be released with "NOT MY CIRCUS".

PURCHASE "NOT MY CIRCUS"

'"Not My Circus"  was conceived following a couple of unique events- firstly, seeing Ween live and experiencing them absolutely shred my (Steve) face-off at the Met Theater in December of 2021, and my buddy Mike Matteson telling me that "You should write more songs in four with an easily identifiable rhythm".

Experiencing Ween live, had inspired me to try and write a song that was a bit out there for us style-wise, yet have it still maintain that Stone Eye sound and feel. Mike's words definitely played a role in the songwriting process as well, as I tried not to veer too far off the deep end when it came to rhythmic experimentation within the riffs and keep it relatively grounded and (mostly) in four. Lyrically, it's a jab at the whole indie/hipster world following some heat I received for my Doordash on tour comments in the twitter-verse. It's about as autobiographical as I have ever been!" - Stephen Burdick

ABOUT

Grab a beer, throw up your legs, and let out a sigh of relief. A new era is born; or at least, something like that. Philadelphia’s premier fuzz-filled rockers are ushering in 2023 with new music throughout the year, and have arrived at their second single, "Not My Circus". Formed in 2014 by some buddies in High School with a shared love for music and endless amounts of ambition (sometimes to the point of absurdity), The Stone Eye is a band that prides itself in tackling multiple genres within one cohesive package; usually topped off with thunderous rhythm, loud guitars, and haunting vocals. It was not always this way though, and that's part of the appeal. Throughout the band's long history, musical evolution and experimentation have been at the forefront of each member's mind. What happens if you cross pop-sensibilities with traditional metal? Or maybe throw some funk in there for the ladies? Perhaps this song needs a hand pan? Why not! With every new release, The Stone Eye is providing new perspectives on tried genres, and that's... well, cool. These upcoming releases are absolutely no exception to that now-established mantra, so strap on in, grab that beer we were talking about earlier, and enjoy the ride.

"Not My Circus" is the second of four singles & music videos cultivated in a twelve-track album entitled Fata Morgana, which is scheduled for an April 28th, 2023 release. Fata Morgana and the aforementioned singles with be made available through Electric Talon Records on CD, Cassette, and Digital mediums.

Global Doom Supergroup MMXX Share New Single, "Alone", Featuring Mick Moss of Antimatter

Announce 'The Next Wave' EP Out April 14th

Pre-Save HERE

Global doom metal supergroup MMXX have announced their new EP 'The Next Wave' will be released via Candlelight on April 14th.

Ahead of this the band have released their first single and video, "Alone", which features guest vocalist Mick Moss (Antimatter, Sleeping Pulse).

Check out the official lyric video, "Alone", feat. Mick Moss

Born during the initial worldwide lockdown and incubated as the seasons passed, doom metal supergroup MMXX began as the sound of global isolation. Not unlike the pandemic itself, MMXX has long harboured an unseen chapter: 'The Next Wave'.

First single, "Alone" is an anthemic five-minute funeral march featuring the unmistakable Mick Moss (Antimatter, Sleeping Pulse). The full three song EP includes the metallic and driving "Isolation" featuring Mikko Kotamäki (Swallow the Sun), and the melancholic and ethereal "Echoes" featuring Alicia Nurho

'The Next Wave' EP will be released on vinyl by Candlelight and like its 2022 full-length predecessor 'Sacred Cargo', contains stunning artwork from Portuguese fine-art photographer Henri Prestes.

Comments the band: "The pandemic proved an especially inspiring and creatively prolific time for MMXX. Our desire to keep 'Sacred Cargo' short enough to fit on a single vinyl, and our preferred sequencing of songs meant we had a few songs from the 'Sacred Cargo' session left. As you will discover, they are by no means inferior, and we are pleased they will soon join our previous album as the ultimate epilogue to a global collaboration originating in the epicentre of pandemic isolation."

At the core of MMXX is Andrea Chiodetti (ex-The Foreshadowing) on guitars and keys, Jesse Haff on drums (Daylight Dies and Gökböri) and Egan O’Rourke on bass (Daylight Dies). Together they channelled inspiration for composition after composition to collaborate with a geographically, culturally, and stylistically diverse collection of celebrated vocalists and musicians from around the world.

MMXX’s debut offering, 'Sacred Cargo' (2022), displayed the project’s signature multifarious approach to doom metal with upcoming EP, 'The New Wave', building upon the foundations laid by its predecessor with a newfound conviction.

MMXX are:

Andrea Chiodetti - Guitar/Keys

Jesse Haff - Drums

Egan O’Rourke - Bass

Frontiers Music Srl is thrilled to announce the upcoming release of Neal Schon's 'Journey Through Time', a live concert recorded on February 9, 2018 at The Independent In San Francisco, CA, on May 19, 2023.

This is the show where Neal Schon, founding member of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inducted band Journey, first debuted 'Journey Through Time' along with two-time Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee and former Journey and Santana bandmate, Gregg Rolie. Joining Schon and Rolie were current Journey member Deen Castronovo on vocals and drums, Marco Mendoza (Thin Lizzy, Whitesnake) on bass, and John Varn on keyboards and vocals.

Performing to a sold out crowd for a benefit show to raise money for victims of the fires that had ravaged the North Bay area of the San Francisco region in October 2017, the band played songs spanning Journey’s entire catalog, largely focusing on the band’s '70s repertoire, including the band's first three albums, 'Journey', 'Look Into The Future', and 'Next'.

Watch a performance of the classic Journey track "Lights"

Multi-Grammy nominated Schon founded Journey in 1972 and remains the sole consistent member, having participated in every album and tour to date. Before founding Journey, Schon was also a member of Santana and has performed with a variety of other acts including Bad English, Hardline, and HSAS and with Jan Hammer and Paul Rodgers (Bad Company, Free).

He has released 10 solo albums over the course of his career as well, with his guitar style being described as soulful and melodic and admired by such fellow legends as Eric Clapton and Prince. Journey’s worldwide sales have reached over 100 million records, making them one of the world’s best-selling bands of all time. Chart-topping hits such as “Don’t Stop Believin’,” “Open Arms", “Lights", “Faithfully", and “When You Love a Woman” are regarded as some of the defining songs of the rock n' roll musical canon.

Drum tracking for Exul, the fourth long-player from Australian extreme progressive metallers NE OBLIVISCARIS, started in March 2020. There is an ominous tone to that date: March 2020. The pandemic demarcation line. That month, Daniel Presland laid down his drums in Nashville, Tennessee, with American producer Mark Lewis. As flight cancellations increased and borders shuttered, Presland made it home literally hours before Australia closed theirs. Lewis, guitarist Benjamin Baret and bassist Martino Garattoni weren’t as lucky. They were due to land in Australia in the days that followed to continue tracking, but were forced to remain overeseas indefinitely. With recording studios shuttered throughout Melbourne, a slow, tedious, life-altering two-year grind to complete Exul ensued for NE OBLIVISCARIS

What should have been the continued upward swing after 2017’s critically acclaimed Urn turned into the most fraught moment of NE OBLIVISCARIS’s career. Clean vocalist and violinist Tim Charles says the period “came close to breaking us completely.” It was a time filled with death, relationships breaking down, despair and financial loss. Presland, NE OBLIVISCARIS’s drummer since 2005, amicably parted ways in early 2022, throwing yet another wrench into the band’s plans.

There are, however, happy accidents scattered throughout the creation of Exul. The extra, unexpected downtime allowed the band to fine-tune and even re-write parts previously set in stone before the pandemic. Charles’s violin solo at the end of “Graal” is a prime example: His original idea wasn’t fully realized until he revisited the song in early 2021 and promptly came up with a new part. It was a classic “a-ha” moment that improved the song.

“Getting an opportunity to have a song mostly done for a year or so and then go back to it, find what you loved about it the first time and maybe even improve it in some ways was a nice silver lining from all the delays,” says Charles. “I think because we had so many delays that were out of our control, we were even more determined to take our time to make sure when the time came to record and to mix, that we ensured it was the absolute best it could be in every way.”

Seven additional studios and three more countries later, Exul was finally mixed and mastered in July 2022.

The album personifies NE OBLIVISCARIS’s distinctive, boundary-pushing ethos. The band’s trademark blend of emotion and beauty is as towering as ever, if not even more compelling, particularly how Charles’s violin lines carefully weave their way around Baret and fellow guitarist Matt Klavins’ riffing. The duality of Charles’s clean vocals and Xenoyr’s growls remains the narrative anchor, elevating songs that emanate sophistication and are a masterclass in composition.

“Our approach is always the same,” says Charles, “which is essentially to just write and see what comes out. Exul definitely had its challenges during the songwriting process. Part of the beauty of how our music comes together is that we are quite different individuals bringing an array of ideas together. From there, we work out how to combine them into something that is seamless and beautiful to us. We were determined to make this our best and most complete album yet, which definitely resulted in it taking longer. But we are so proud of this album and it’s exciting to finally share it with the world.”

The album’s centerpiece is the two-part “Misericorde I – As the Flesh Fails” and “Misericorde – Anatomy of Quiescence.” (A NE OBLIVISCARIS album is not complete without a multi-part epic!) According to Charles, Part II began by taking a song they thought was finished (Pt I) and asking, “What if after that…?” The band then wrote a section that took the piece in a new direction and what was a 7 minute song, became an almost 17 minute 2 part epic.

“The bulk of Part I was written more so by Benji and Martino,” notes Charles. “You can hear the very guitar-driven approach present throughout that track. Part II, by contrast, was written more so by myself in collaboration with others and the emphasis changes more towards expansive solos and slow-developing sections that build towards the epic finale. These two tracks are a great example of how it’s the combination of our different strengths as songwriters spread across an album that results in the sound that is 'NE OBLIVISCARIS'.”

Charles’s violin parts, whether on “Misericorde II,” “Equus” or “Suspyre,” exude confidence. The instrument has always been central to the band’s sound. On Exul, Charles’s violin playing is taken to another level. “I think that over the years, in regards to how my violin interacts within NeO’s music, I’ve simply continued to add more strings to my bow, so to speak,” he says. “With ‘Exul,’ I definitely explored even further the use of layers of violin and viola parts to create a more textured feel compared to other albums. ‘Mesericorde II’ was definitely a bit of a breakthrough song for me, where I felt I could utilize the strings in a way that hadn’t been done in NeO’s music before. In the end, whatever serves the song best is always the aim and having more ways of creating music makes it easier to serve the song.”

The Exul album title came to Xen when he was summing up the album’s feeling musically and lyrically. Coincidentally, it matched the experience of most people during the pandemic and the Russian invasion of Ukraine. “I think everyone at some point has felt at odds with the world around them, felt alone, cast out, or misunderstood,” says Xen. “Exul felt right to use in a broader sense and as a lone word, for we each have our own history and a story of exile.

“Overall, there’s a darker core to this album, perhaps more ominous than previous releases,” he continues. “However abstract the lyrics are, they involve some form of unwanted departure — all journeys into torment, passion, longing and even despair. They touch on the process of physical and psychological destruction that comes from that sense or reality of being exiled, whether forced from one’s land, ostracised from a community, shunned by a religion, or even simply being treated differently for being who they are.”

Touring will factor heavily into NE OBLIVISCARIS’s 2023 plans. The band will embark on headlining tours worldwide that will hit new territories. As luck would have it, the return to live show activity will coincide with the release of Exul and the band’s 20th anniversary. As one of Australia’s leading extreme metal exports, there is a distinct sense of gratitude from Charles and his bandmates. They’re looking forward to sharing it with fans when they resume touring.

“Simply getting the opportunity to perform music that we’ve written on stages around the world to people that genuinely love and connect with it,” finishes Charles when talking about NE OBLIVISCARIS’s 20-year journey. “There is something incredibly special about the energy that exists between an artist and audience at a concert and it’s an honor to get the opportunity to spend 2023 connecting with people in that way once more.”

Liverpool'S THE ROOM presents 'Sleepless', a tale of internet addiction from 'Restless Fate' LP, their first recordings in 38 years

"A band who have a genuine need to create art, they create literate, film-like songs aimed as much at the mind as the feet. They are not looking back to past glories at all, but looking forward to future ones. In Restless Fate, they have already found one" ~ Louder Than War

Liverpool's The Room presents 'Sleepless', a song inspired by the modern-day phenomenon of internet addiction, social media and news junkies. Following lead track 'The Drift', this is the latest offering from their 'Restless Fate' LP, the band's first new recordings in 38 years.  Producer Mark Jordan has also created accompanying videos for both singles.

Originally formed by singer Dave Jackson and bassist Becky Stringer in 1979, they are once again joined by the band's original drummer Clive Thomas, as well as guitarist Darren Brown, keyboardist Ethan Kyme and drummer Tom McCabe.

Recorded and mixed at Ark Studios in Liverpool and released on 9x9 Records, this album was co-produced by Dave Jackson and Steve Powell (Michael Head & the Red Elastic Band, Autour De Lucie, Echo & The Bunnymen).

‘Restless Fate’ picks up where the band left off. At times shimmering, at times haunting, their melodic blend of progressive, alternative pop and sultry post-punk is just as relevant and captivating now as when they broke up in 1985. An exploration of man’s search for meaning and the dysfunction of the human condition, there is still a relentless optimism at the core of this record.

The Room recorded four John Peel sessions, appeared on The Whistle Test and worked with Television's Tom Verlaine and John Porter (Roxy Music, The Smiths, Billy Bragg) on their 'In Evil Hour' LP (1984). Recordings from Janice Long's BBC Radio One programme and Saturday Live were used for the 1985 release 'Jackpot Jack' EP. 2004 brought their 'No Dream (Best Of)' compilation, followed by 2005's 'Indoor Fireworks' LP, which was actually recorded in 1982.

Having toured the UK and the USA, The Room has also performed with The Fall, The Birthday Party, Bauhaus, Southern Death Cult, Violent Femmes, Tom Verlaine, John Foxx and The Red Guitars.

Following the band's split, Becky and Dave went on to form several other bands: Benny Profane, Dust and Dead Cowboys. Dave has also recorded under his own name and, most recently, he issued a string of releases as The Room in the Wood (with Paul Cavanagh).

"It's great to revisit old stuff, but writing new songs as The Room is where the excitement really lies. New Dreams from an island cursed by Restless Fate," says Dave Jackson.

"'Sleepless' is about addiction to media that keeps us on our phones and obsessed by trivia. 'Red Admiral' is a reflection on childhood with an implied murder mystery hidden in the picture. 'Kingdom' is an atheists hymn. 'Crying Face' is about a Facebook troll I know. 'Bull in the Doorway' is about the paintings of Francis Bacon. 'Mirror World' is an oblique response to a misinformation in the media. 'Cursed Islands' is about an island off the coast of Napoli and also the redundant World Islands in Dubai. 'Time Comes' was another response to lockdown. 'The Reeds' is about a bereaved swan on Prince's Park Lake."

The 'Restless Fate' album is out now, available digitally across fine music platforms, including Apple Music, Spotify and Amazon. It can also be obtained on CD and as a vinyl record via Liverpool-based 9x9 Records.

Guitar Super Shredder Joey Concepcion Releases his Sophomore Solo Album & It’s a Musical Masterpiece!

CT native guitar virtuoso and super shredder Joey Concepcion has just released his brand new full length solo album Divine Technical Machine on Mindsnap Music/Combat Records and it’s a musical masterpiece. The album is now available worldwide on all major platforms today, March 17th, 2023! The album was mixed and produced by Joey Concepcion and mastered by Nicky Bellmore at Dexter's Lab Recroding.

Check out the single and video for "Giant Spider Attack On The City" below

Pick up the album here: Joey Concepcion - Divine Technical Machine

“I am excited and relieved all in one to finally have a killer home for my new music. Not only am I good friends with one of the main owners of Mindsnap Music, (Opus, one of my former bandmates), but I trust their team dearly. I also know they’ll work hard to help get my music out to the masses so it can be heard. A lot of time, effort, blood, sweat, tears, and finances have gone into making my new record! Hope you guys enjoy it," says Joey Concepcion (Solo Artist/Guitarist).

Anyone into heavy guitar driven music will appreciate this album. Like most solo guitarist albums, it’s not just one giant solo or non-stop noodling, there are great melodies within the songs too. Joey C. can not only play guitar like a monster with his abilities being put side by side like some of the guitar greats of past and present, but he is also super humble. The album features well known guitar gurus and some of his personal heroes like Christopher Amott, Jeff Loomis, Marc Rizzo, and more.

“Joey C's songs are full of memorable hooks and I really like the controlled dissonance he's using in several of these songs. With chops to spare I believe he is somewhat of an Evil Satriani. The band here is intense as well. The drums are perfectly executed and compliment and telegraph the changes in the songs. A must hear for any heavy edge guitarists and drummers out there," says Chris Poland (ex-Megadeth/Kings of Thrash/Ohm guitarist).

Metal heads & guitar lovers… Do not sleep on this album!

Joey Concepcion has toured in Europe playing guitar for Dark Tranquility, and has filled in for Arch Enemy on guitar, toured and played with Jasta of Hatebreed, Armageddon with Chris Amontt, The Absence, Once Human, Sanctuary, and Dead By Wednesday. He has also played on albums with Lost Symphony sharing solos with Marty Friedman, Jeff Loomis, Jimi Bell, and many more amazing and legendary guitarists!

Joey C. has also played major festivals all over the world such as Loud Park Japan, Summer Breeze Germany, Reload Festival Germany, and Alcatrazz Festival Belgium, to name a few.

Joey Concepcion is also endorsed by Jackson Guitars, Dimarzio Pickups, D’Addario Strings, & Dunlop.

Hollywood Vampires Announce "Live In Rio" Album + Share "I Got A Line On You" Live Video — WATCH🧛

HOLLYWOOD VAMPIRES SHARE VIDEO FOR "I GOT A LINE ON YOU"

SONG TAKEN FROM UPCOMING ALBUM LIVE IN RIO OUT JUNE 2 VIA EARMUSIC

With "I Got A Line On You," we get a glimpse into one of the most spectacular live shows of the last few years.

The new single is the prelude to the first live album by Hollywood Vampires, which will be released by earMUSIC on June 2.

With singer Alice Cooper, superstar Johnny Depp, Aerosmith legend Joe Perry, and producer + songwriter Tommy Henriksen, the band has a top-class lineup.

Watch the music video below.

Stream the song here.

With Live in Rio, The Hollywood Vampires probably played their biggest and most legendary gig in front of more than 100,000 fans. The accompanying music video shows the sheer magnitude of this concert and the reactions that this song still evokes in people — even 55 years after it was written. Originally by the American rock band Spirit, Hollywood Vampires cover this classic in their very own way. Rocking, driving, and full of energy, "I Got A Line On You" seems revitalized and bristles with power. It's a three-minute track with hit potential.

In 2015, the Hollywood Vampires not only released their first album, but also played one of their biggest concerts, which will now be released as their first live album. After this success and the media interest in the ultimate rock group, sold-out concerts, and tours all over the world followed, and in 2019, finally, the second album Rise. Over 50,000 physical units sold, millions of streams, and worldwide cover stories in major magazines later, fans, press and the band were ready to bring these songs to the stage. Unfortunately, part of the tour had to be postponed due to the pandemic and will finally be made up for this summer. Fittingly, the first live album will be released a few days earlier on June 2.

The new album Live in Rio will be released as CD+DVD Digipak, CD+Blu-ray Digipak, limited + numbered 2LP Gatefold Black, and can be pre-ordered here.

As reigning ACM Entertainer of the Year Miranda Lambert prepares for the April 25 release of her first book, “Y’all Eat Yet? Welcome to the Pretty B*tchin’ Kitchen,” written together with Holly Gleason, she announces a trio of book signing events to bring the recipes she was raised on and stories of intergenerational female friendship to fans nationwide.

Kicking off in New York City on release day, Lambert will visit the 5th Avenue Barnes & Noble store April 25 at 12 p.m. ET before appearing at The Grove Barnes & Noble store in Los Angeles on April 28 at 11 a.m. PT. She will also return to her hometown of Lindale, Texas – where many of the book’s stories were born – for a signing at her own Pink Pistol store on May 9 at 12 p.m. CT ahead of the ACM Awards in nearby Dallas later that week. Limited tickets priced at $38.11 plus an Eventbrite fee of $4 (which include one book each) will be available via YallEatYetBook.com at 11 a.m. local time tomorrow, March 21.

With “Y’all Eat Yet?” (Dey Street Books), the most awarded artist in ACM history takes readers deeper into her life off stage, on her farm and on the road, as well as sharing her beloved Airstream trailers, her signature fashion sense and decorating style. Lambert grew up surrounded by her mother and grandmother, and also by her mother’s tight-knit pack of girlfriends. With them, she learned the power of female friendship and the bonds that women share – and the way good food and drink is the perfect reason for any gathering of your girlfriends.

“Watching my mom and her friends, I saw the way pitching in, working together, loving music and being there for each other is the greatest gift you can have in life. I think my mom inherited that gift from her mom, because they both attracted the most awesome group of girlfriends,” says Lambert.

These colorful women knew how to have too much fun, come through in a jam, celebrate, cry when necessary and really, really cook – and it’s to these women that Lambert credits her own inviting, come-on-in personality. Each and every recipe in “Y’all Eat Yet?” has been handed down from her mom, grandma and those cherished friends, including Nonny’s Banana Pudding, The Loaf (aka “the meal that will get the ring”), Dutch Oven (Coffee Can) Campfire Cobbler, Stacked Enchilada Bake, Jalapeño Pimento Cheese, Roasted Root Vegetable Winter Salad, Whiskey Cupcakes and more.

For everything from porch parties to road trips, the holidays and celebratory gatherings, “Y’all Eat Yet?” is true to Lambert’s roots growing up in Texas. It showcases easy to prepare, hearty and delicious meals meant to be shared with those you love. Full of the moments most people never get to see in the life of one of country music’s most important female superstars – along with gorgeous fare and 50 recipes – “Y’all Eat Yet?” was created to fill your belly and feed your soul.

In addition to Palomino, the celebrated singer/songwriter’s lauded discography includes Wildcard (2019), The Weight of These Wings (2016), Platinum (2014), Four The Record (2011), Revolution (2009), Crazy Ex-Girlfriend (2007) and Kerosene (2005). She has also released three albums with her trio, the Pistol Annies, as well as 2021’s GRAMMY-nominated The Marfa Tapes, a raw and intimate recording with collaborators Jack Ingram and Jon Randall.

The most decorated artist in the history of the Academy of Country Music, Lambert has earned 38 ACM Awards (including a record-setting nine consecutive Female Artist of the Year Awards), 14 CMA Awards, three GRAMMY Awards, the Nashville Symphony Harmony Award, the Texas Medal of Arts Award, ACM Gene Weed Milestone Award and ACM Song of the Decade Award, plus was named 2019’s RIAA Artist of the Year and was the youngest artist ever to serve as the Country Music Hall of Fame & Museum’s Artist in Residence.

Idyllwind, her clothing and cowboy boot collection, is an exclusive brand sold at all Boot Barn stores nationwide, while her home goods collection, Wanda June Home, is available exclusively at Walmart and her debut book, “Y’all Eat Yet,” is set for release on April 25. She is also the first female artist to have her own venue on Broadway in Nashville with her Casa Rosa Tex-Mex cantina. An avid animal lover, Lambert’s MuttNation pet product line is available exclusively at Tractor Supply Co. with proceeds benefitting her MuttNation Foundation, a 501c3 nonprofit that has raised over $7 million since its inception in 2009. The Foundation’s mission is to promote the adoption of rescue pets, support animal shelters across the country, advance spay & neuter and assist with the transport of animals during times of natural disaster.

NACHTBLUT Releases New Official Video for “Kaltes Herz”

German Dark Metal Pioneers

NACHTBLUT

Release New Official Video for Bone-Shaking

“Kaltes Herz”

Touring Germany, Austria and Switzerland

Kicking Off Today!

New Album, 'Vanitas', Out Now | Order HERE!

German dark metal pioneers NACHTBLUT are back to hit venues all over Germany, Austria and Switzerland on their Vanitas Tour, starting today in Stuttgart.

To set stages for this infernal live experience, the band has just revealed a brand new official music video for their song “Kaltes Herz” (engl. Cold Heart). It represents the quintessence of NACHTBLUT by combining a dark and morbid mood with on point lyrics that don’t mince words.

“Kaltes Herz” is cut from the band’s sixth full-length album, 'Vanitas', released in October 2020 via Napalm Records. Accompanied by a brand new official video, the song draws the listener into the band’s musical maelstrom in a classifying NACHTBLUT manner. Don’t miss your chance to join the cult and experience NACHTBLUT live on stage!

The band states:

"Today, our own VANITAS TOUR will kick off. We’re more than happy this is finally happening after we had to reschedule the tour, due to the Covid-Pandemic.

"This will be an awesome tour; many shows are sold out already, and for several cities just a few tickets are left. We don’t take this for granted, especially after the last two years. We’re stoked about the support by our fans and thankful to everyone involved.

"To celebrate the start, we’re giving you 'Kaltes Herz'. This video was shot during the “Homecoming Tour” with our friends Lord Of The Lost and is a great flashback to an awesome tour, as well as a hint for what to expect attending the VANITAS TOUR

We see you tonight or very soon!"

Watch the New Video for “Kaltes Herz”

A dark work of art between transience and infinity.

Songs like Die Toten vergessen nicht” (engl. the dead don’t forget) shine with an unmistakably dark and orchestral sound that will cause shivers to run down the listener’s spine, while the folk-influenced song “Leierkinder” (engl. children of the lyre) convinces with addictive rhythms and moving lyrics. With 'Vanitas', dark metal giants NACHTBLUTcreate a symbolic work of art somewhere between transience and infinity.

NACHTBLUT on 'Vanitas':

"'Vanitas' combines many elements, from melodic songs, electronic sounds to heavy, fast riffs. We merged those to one harmonious oeuvre and we’re more than happy and excited about the result. As the title reveals, the idea of transiency and mortality is a major topic on this record and has been influenced by the Danse Macabre and the Vanitas still life paintings. But this did not limit us to not speak out about injustices and bringing up painful subjects, nor to be less contentious."

NACHTBLUT are:

Askeroth - vocals

Ablaz - bass

Skoll - drums

Greif - guitar

That they are still roaring and soaring should be no surprise. That’s just how they are built. TESLA may have been born in the mid-80s, but their bluesy, soulful sound is strongly embedded in the roots of organic, authentic, 1970s rock and roll. The same roots that produced bands like The Allman Brothers, Grand Funk Railroad, AC/DC, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Aerosmith.

The ground started shaking in Sacramento, CA, in 1984; gold country that would soon be producing some platinum. They started out as City Kidd, until a suggested name change to TESLA, honoring the eccentric inventor Nikola Tesla who pioneered all things electrical. Their 1986 platinum debut album, Mechanical Resonance, included Top 40 hits “Modern Day Cowboy” and “Little Suzi.” 1989’s double-platinum The Great Radio Controversy included hits “Heaven’s Trail (No Way Out)” and “Love Song”. Suddenly, TESLA, who had been touring with bands such as Def Leppard and David Lee Roth, earned headlining status. In 1990, TESLAhelped reshape the face of modern rock music by stripping down to the Five Man Acoustical Jam, an informal collection of their biggest hits peppered with rock and roll classics by the Beatles, Stones, and others. This album produced their biggest hit single to date, a cover of Five Man Electrical Band’s “Signs.” Other 90s albums from TESLA include platinum selling Psychotic Supper and Bust a Nut. The band continues to record and release material including 9 new albums since 2000 and recently debuted their new single, “Time To Rock!”

TESLA has endured many of the same taste-changing challenges that affected many in the post-grunge world, but through it all, their blue-collar work ethic and dedication to the faithful fan base has helped them not just survive, but thrive. TESLA’s legacy is alive and well as they continue to record and sellout venues all over the world. As comfortable, rugged, and dependable as your favorite pair of boots, they endure. TESLA is a celebration of the greatest spirits of rock and roll.
