Powerhouse Rock Group SHOGUN MOJO — Feat. KISS Guitarist Tommy Thayer and Dan Reed — Releases Debut Self-Titled Album — Out Now via Frontiers Music Srl

SHOGUN MOJO - an exciting new collaboration between legendary KISS guitarist Tommy Thayer and acclaimed singer-songwriter Dan Reed of Dan Reed Network fame – debut on Frontiers Music Srl with their self-titled album, available now. The new track “Dog Eat Dog,” along with an official video, is also out now.

Dan Reed shares:

“Like many of the songs on our debut album, the lyrics in this track are pointed at the idea that even in an era of extreme division on many issues, continuous violent conflicts, political upheaval, and confusion about the future, we should attempt to hold on to some part of us that reaches for the light, the hope that one day the human race will get its act together. First we need to accept that we live in an often brutal world... Dog eat dog... Sideline idealism while in the background we train to be resilient, to overcome our differences, our fears... And become 'warriors of the light', so to speak. This song is about that endeavor!”

Watch the Official Video for "Dog Eat Dog" Below:

SHOGUN MOJO is the explosive new rock collective masterminded by legendary guitarist Tommy Thayer (KISS, Black ’N Blue) and acclaimed vocalist Dan Reed (Dan Reed Network), uniting decades of arena rock legacy, musical innovation and pure rock’n’roll spirit.

Backed by a Sweden-based and exceptionally tight lineup featuring drummer Robert Mehmeti Kizilcay, guitarist Roger Öjersson and bassist Jake Nyman, the band delivers a debut album packed with towering hooks, driving energy and electrifying performances.

Tommy Thayer comments on the record:

“I’ve always loved doing projects like this because they give me a chance to step outside of my usual world and just create, play guitar, and have fun making music. Dan and I go back a long way, and it’s been great getting to know Bengt and Ikiz over the past year and discovering the chemistry we have together. SHOGUN MOJO really came from that shared energy, getting in a room, playing, writing, and seeing where it took us. There’s a great spirit and camaraderie in this band that comes through in the music, and I’m excited for people to finally hear what we've created together.”

“This debut album is a reflection of all the rock records both Tommy, Bengt, Ikiz, and I grew up listening to! Even Brion James from my band Dan Reed Network has a co-write on the album called 'Funk Party'! What we captured in the studio is playing live together like bands did in the 70s, and the outcome is a record that's a groovy, rowdy funk rock celebration of life. At least that was the goal”, added Dan Reed. “In a world of AI music, we took it back to the roots of having fun writing in a room together and recording in a room together. We hope you feel what we attempted to capture. We are often told, 'People don't want to hear guitar solos anymore'... so Tommy has a guitar solo in every song!”

Musically, SHOGUN MOJO channels the infectious melodic punch of classic late ’70s and early ’80s hard rock, blending the anthemic spirit of KISS with the soulful intensity and unmistakable swagger of Dan Reed’s vocal style. Fans of Dan Reed Network’s 'Slam' will immediately connect with the album’s vibrant mix of massive choruses, funk-infused grooves, and feel-good rock energy - but with a warmer, more organic, and timeless sound that recalls the golden era of analog-driven rock records.

Raw, dynamic and unapologetically alive, SHOGUN MOJO’s debut is a celebration of big riffs, earworm melodies and the enduring power of classic hard rock reinvented for a new generation.

Finnish Modern Metal Outfit BLIND CHANNEL Unleashes Sixth Studio Album ‘Painstream’ — Out Now via Century Media

Finnish modern metal outfit BLIND CHANNEL have officially released their highly anticipated sixth studio album, ‘Painstream,’ out now via Century Media. Marking a bold new chapter for the band, the 12-track record explores pain in all its forms, from deeply personal struggles to the challenges facing humanity, ultimately finding hope, unity and strength in shared experiences.

Accompanying the album release is the final single “Messiah,” alongside an official music video. Exploring the complexities of faith, fear and belief, the track unfolds against a towering, cathedral-like sonic backdrop. Its accompanying cinematic video takes a different approach from the band's previous visuals, telling a standalone story without featuring the members themselves.

BLIND CHANNEL comments on the new single:

"The final single 'Messiah' explores one of the most human things there is: faith. We discovered that believing in something is a lot harder than not believing in anything. Our attempt was to make a song that echoes like a cathedral that might collapse on you any moment. The music video is unlike anything we’ve done before, not featuring the band but a story the song sparked in us.”

Watch the Music Video for "Messiah" Below:

The band also recently premiered their exclusive live studio session at the legendary Finnvox Studios in Helsinki, Finland. The session features live performances of "Into The Void" and "Diana" from the band's new album ‘Painstream,’ along with "Deadzone" from their previous album.

We hope they ask you questions and make you think. Because that’s what they did to us. 'Painstream' is yours now and in only two weeks we’ll celebrate by returning to the stages."

ARISING EMPIRE MEDIA ALERT: THE DARK.FM release new single ‘Redline’ featuring Kent Osbourne — WATCH // BLOOD COMMAND Share New Song — LISTEN

Los Angeles-based outfit THE DARK.FM have today released the video for the explosive new single "Redline," featuring genre-defying U.S. rapper Kent Osbourne.

Watch the video below.

Following the release of "Thai Angel" and their recent appearances at both Furnace Fest and Sick New World Festival, "Redline" sees the THE DARK.FM push their sound into an even more aggressive territory, combining crushing low-end riffs, dense electronic production and Osbourne's rapid-fire vocal delivery.

Speaking of the new single, vocalist Craig Johns Jr. shares, ''I first heard Kent Osborne's music a few years ago when we were set to play a show together, and became a fan on the spot. He's doing some seriously cool shit. As I was building out the instrumental for ''Redline,'' it was becoming pretty clear there wouldn't be any singing on it, and I was set on the idea of having him jump on it with me. The man's a powerhouse, he has all these different voices, and can come up with whole verses in seconds; it was a blast to record. The song started with this giant Drop-E riff, which became the intro and chorus, and then I wanted the verses to sound like the song was exploding so I put a distortion right on the mix bus, set up to saturate when the verse kick hits so it breaks up while he’s rapping. It comes together as this hyper-aggressive track, densely layered, electronic and riffy, but still leaves a lot of space for Kent's vocals. Before he left the session I had him record a ''sample pack' of spoken word lyrics from the song so I could scratch them up across the track, and that, to me, felt like the final touch it needed. Not to discount that ending, of course..''

THE DARK.FM occupy a space that has been begging to be occupied within heavy music.

A bridge between sounds, communities, and cultures that has been ready and waiting for someone to build it.

What started as a collaboration between vocalist Craig Johns Jr. and guitarist Alan Ashby that transcended music quickly became about appreciating not just moments in time, but how worlds are built. From flicking through old PlayStation magazines to grasp the visuals that defined the beginning of the millennium to scouring Rick Owens collections and pondering which daring pieces best represented their intent, the pair quickly found that the strands connecting their passions for music, fashion, and film were deeply intertwined. Throw in childhoods spent being obsessed with The Matrix as much as Slipknot, Korn and Limp Bizkit, as well as a shared appreciation for the universe created within Cyberpunk 2077, and the foundations for something truly exploratory were in place.

The first pieces of those exploratory pursuits resulted in 2025's The Dark EP, a frenzied blend of rampant beats, guttural breakdowns and uncanny croons, its tracks racking up over 3 million streams, as well as festival appearances at Vans Warped Tour, Sick New World, and Furnace Fest.

Electronic legends DELERIUM & dreamwave duo MAGIC WANDS share audio-visual reverie with "Dream Palace" single

Legendary Canadian electronic duo Delerium have teamed up with LA-based dreamwavers Magic Wands on their aptly-named single "Dream Palace". Two of the artists most associated with dark-edged bliss-pop in today's music landscape, both of these duos are also label-mates via Metropolis Records.

Founded in 1987 by Bill Leeb (Front Line Assembly, Skinny Puppy) and Rhys Fulber (Front Line Assembly, Conjure One) has spent four decades shaping the global soundscape, evolving effortlessly from haunting ambient trance to lush, dark pop. This latest collaboration marks another monumental chapter in their legendary discography, wrapping listener senses in pure cinematic beauty.

Following the lead track "Into The Light", a beautifully dark opus featuring iconic American avant-garde singer Diamanda Galás, this is the latest offering from Delerium’s highly anticipated 16th studio album, “Exaudire", arriving in January 2027. Produced by Leeb and Fulber, their long-standing collaborator Greg Reelyonce again handles mixing and mastering.

On 'Dream Palace', Delerium's signature cinematic electronica receives a brilliant layer of guitar-infused sheen. With Magic Wands' Chris Valentine on guitar and Dexy Valentine contributing vocals and lyrics, the resulting hypnotic lullaby finds a welcome home amidst this vast, cinematic sonic landscape

Like a surreal dream of its own, the captivating video, starring Soraya Rose Southwick, was directed, produced and filmed by Shahrnaz Nancy Southwickand Magic Wands with lighting design by Chris Valentine, production design by Bradley Preston Southwick, and editing and color grading by Dexy Valentine.

“When we first heard the music Delerium sent to us it put us in a trance for about 24 hours. We listened on loop again and again to see what we could do that would complement it. Chris came up with some guitar and I came up with a vocal melody. Lyrically I went with the dreamy feeling the song was giving me. The lyrics were inspired by the music and also the end scene of Contact a 90's movie based on a Carl Sagan novel,” says Dexy Valentine.

“Delerium liked our "Hide" video and wanted something like that so we got together with our friend & producer Shahrnaz Nancy Southwick and her daughter Soraya Rose and shot it in a backyard garden. The imagery captures another dimension of the song that feels a bit more mystical. The video is about a girl opening a wooden box and, as she looks into it, she finds herself in a parallel universe”.

Originally intended as a side project for Leeb and Fulber to explore dark ambient instrumental compositions, Delerium ultimately took on a long and beautiful life of its own. With Front Line Assembly already part of the Metropolis Records roster, Delerium signed to the label for the release of the albums "Mythologie" (2016) and "Signs" (2023). Bill Leeb also released his widely acclaimed debut solo album "Model Kollapse" via Metropolis in 2024.

“We were first introduced to Magic Wands through Metropolis Records, who asked us if we wanted to do a remix for them, which we did for their song "Moonshadow". That went really well. When recording our new Delirium album, we thought it might be fun to do something with them," says Bill Leeb.

"Since they are also with Metropolis, this made everything very easy. We are all extremely happy with the result. This is kind of a new sound for Delirium, which made us really happy, and they also created a video for it, which goes extremely well with the song. A wonderful collaboration, visually and sonically.”

Since their 1994 album "Semantic Spaces", Delerium has received two Juno awards and grown to massive fame through collaborations, involving vocals by Leigh Nash (Sixpence None the Richer), Lisa Gerrard (Dead Can Dance), Kirsty Hawkshaw (Opus III), Emily Haines (Metric), Jacqui Hunt (Single Gun Theory), Matthew Sweet and Kristy Thirsk (Rose Chronicles).

Worldwide chart success came in 2000 with the anthem "Silence (featuring Sarah McLachlan)", reaching #1 in numerous countries, its remixes also hailed among the greatest trance songs (the Tiësto remix was voted the 12th-greatest dance track of all time by Mixmag readers). Delerium has also had sync licensing success with songs in films such as "Brokedown Palace" and "Lara Croft: Tomb Raider". “Silence" was also recently heard in the hit BBC drama "Industry".

Magic Wands was formed in 2011, with Chris and Dexy Valentine first connecting through Myspace while living on opposite sides of the country (in Los Angeles and Nashville). They have since released a solid catalogue of music, performed at Lollapalooza and SXSW, and played with a list that reads like a Hall of Fame, including Radiohead, Slowdive, The Horrors, The Black Keys, The Jesus and Mary Chain, The Raconteurs, The Breeders,The Wombats, Dinosaur Jr., The Kills, Deerhunter, Mac DeMarco, Sebadoh, Ty Segall and The Raconteurs.

As of October 30, “Dream Palace“ is available from fine digital platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp. Already available for pre-order, 'Exaudire' will be released as a double album on Oxblood vinyl, as well as on CD and digitally, on January 22nd, 2027.

Symphonic Metal/Gothic Rock Band CARMERIA Releases New Album Ex Cathedra, Alongside Visualizer For "Phantasma"

Australia's CARMERIA present the third studio album Ex Cathedra, an enthralling offering that showcases the next evolution in the band's sound.Released independently today, the new full length centers around finding resilience and joy despite suffering encountered as part of the human experience.

Commenting on the release of Ex Cathedra, singer/songwriter/producer Jordan von Grae shares:
"Personally, Ex Cathedra feels like the culmination of my journey as an artist. As a band, it feels like the record in which we have found our identity.

At its heart, this album is a tribute to perseverance in the face of hardship; to the notion that ‘this too shall pass,’ and the understanding that while we cannot always choose our circumstances, we have the power to choose how we respond to them.

Above all, it is a celebration of our capacity to live fully alongside suffering; to love despite loss, to find belonging in one another, and to find solace in the knowledge that while pain may be an inevitable part of the human experience, the beauty of our lives need not be diminished by it."

On the meaning behind "Phantasma," Jordan von Grae reveals:
"Phantasma explores the ways in which guilt, shame and regret can distort our perception of ourselves. While those feelings can encourage reflection and positive change, they can also become destructive when we allow ourselves to be consumed by the things we cannot change, or accept blame for things that we were never responsible for.

Additionally, 'Phantasma' serves as a reminder not to allow the suffering of the past to eclipse the joy that may still exist in the future, and argues that resilience can sometimes require forgiveness, including forgiveness of oneself. Despite its thematic tone, this song was incredibly fun to put together, and I feel like it perfectly encapsulates the album's sonic philosophy of 'Misery you can dance to.'"

Ex Cathedra was principally written by CARMERIA singer/songwriter/producer Jordan von Grae. Zahija composed “Ex Cathedra,” while Bobrov made additional songwriting contributions to “Wings,” “Phantasma,” “A Rose Divine” and “Echoes of the Dream.”

The recording lineup consists of Jordan von Grae on lead vocals, harmonies and choirs, as well as programming for keys, synths, orchestra and drums; Jerry Zahija on lead and rhythm guitars and solos; and Emma Louise Nagy on bass, acoustic guitars and additional vocals. All drums, keys, synths and orchestration were programmed by von Grae, with the exception of the orchestra on “Ex Cathedra,” which was programmed by Zahija and Robert Ianni.

Ex Cathedra was mixed by Jordan von Grae and mastered by Miro Mastering. The album and single covers were designed by Jordan von Grae, illustrated by Hassane and coordinated by Mishka Bobrov. Album photography was completed by Matt Bartolo.

In 2026, CARMERIA return with their third full-length album, Ex Cathedra, a record that expands the band’s established symphonic and gothic foundations with a stronger melodic rock influence. Centred on the idea that suffering is an unavoidable part of life but despair is not, the album represents a further evolution in CARMERIA’s songwriting, production and visual identity while remaining rooted in the qualities that have defined the band from the beginning: melody, storytelling, independence and connection.

SARCATOR Celebrate Release Of New Album The Ones We Follow, Out Now Via Reigning Phoenix Music!

Swedish metal trailblazers SARCATOR are celebrating the release of their brand new studio album, The Ones We Follow, out today via Reigning Phoenix Music!

With their fourth full-length offering, SARCATOR push beyond the boundaries of their extreme metal roots and venture into darker, hook-driven territory. Gothic Western atmospheres collide with raw rock ’n’ roll energy, while the band’s signature death and blackened vocals remain firmly intact. Bold, dynamic, and bursting with youthful energy, The Ones We Follow marks another exciting step forward in the band's evolution, showcasing a sound that is unmistakably their own.

There comes a point in every band's journey when experimentation gives way to conviction. When years of searching no longer lead to another reinvention, but to an identity. For Sweden's SARCATOR, that moment has arrived.

Over the past years, SARCATOR have built a reputation as one of Scandinavia's most exciting young heavy bands, earning nominations for both Sweden's P3 Guld and Grammis Awards while sharing stages with Hellripper, 1349 and Midnight. Yet The Ones We Follow is not the culmination of that journey. With new bassist Linus Edmarker now joining the fold, it is where everything comes together.

Rather than asking where they fit within heavy music, SARCATOR follow a far simpler principle:

What serves the song? Every creative decision begins there.

That philosophy has become the band's creative compass, allowing punk urgency, gothic atmosphere, timeless heavy metal, dark rock swagger and extreme metal intensity to coexist naturally. The result is what the band simply calls death's rock; not a genre, but an identity.

The same creative restlessness runs through the entire album. Rather than following expectations, trends or genre boundaries, SARCATOR trusted instinct at every turn. Every creative decision - from the songwriting to the visual world - serves one purpose: the song itself.

In a recent interview with Dead Rhetoric, vocalist and guitarist Mateo Tervonen reflected on the band's musical evolution: “When we wrote the second album, we started to listen to all kinds of music, and it made the album sound more progressive, weird, and rock-oriented, and we have kept that since then.” On the creation of the new album, he said “We were more focused. That shines through in the material as well. It’s very worked through.”

The Ones We Follow is not about looking back or recreating the past. It marks the moment where SARCATOR move forward with complete confidence in who they have become. The songwriting is sharper, the artistic identity clearer, the visual world more immersive and the band's vision more focused than ever before.

What comes next is about seeing who follows.

The Ones We Follow is out now Reigning Phoenix Music.

NYC art-rockers ECCE SHNAK share scintillating single 'Own’d Thyself' ahead of East Coast Tour

New York City’s madly radical art-rock quintet Ecce Shnak are back with a major-key, Buzzcocks-tinged, 2-and-a-half-minute-long sprinter 'Own’d Thyself', along with a high-spirited video capturing the band's infectious energy, vibrant performance and tour highlights.

This previews their upcoming full-length album 'Dandy Variances', to be released on March 12th, 2027 via Records, Man Records. Mixed by

Upping the ante, the band will also bring their unique blend of art-rock swagger, grunge muscle and theatrical performance to the masses with a nine-date East Coast Tour (November 11th through 20th).  Music lovers, philosophers and thrill seekers in Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Quebec, Ontario, Maryland and New York state will be treated with their explosive performances.

This is Ecce Shnak's first string of live dates since three consecutive tours (West coast,East coast, and Great Britain) with UK music legends EMF, a relationship that also led them to feature on EMF's stellar single 'LGBTQ+ Lover'.

Formed in 2011, Ecce Shnak (pronounced “Eh-kay sh-knock”) is made up of David Roush (composer, bassist and baritone vocalist), Bella Komodromos (vocals), Chris Krasnow (guitar), Gannon Ferrell (guitar), and Henry Buchanan-Vaughn (drums). Known for their mind-blowing live shows, Ecce Shnak was forged in New York’s vibrant experimental music community, having developed a distinctive collision of art-rock ambition, grunge weight, theatrical songwriting, and experimental instincts.

With 'Own’d Thyself', singer-bassist-composer David Roush invites you to dance joyously while meditating on the moments people pointlessly mess up their own lives.  His lyrics skewer the standard bully that thinks he has managed to humiliate someone else, when really he has sewn the seeds of his own destruction. Not naming names, he takes aim at the likes of Tucker Carlson-type talking heads.

"In the Internet-brained parlance of our time, human beings have a puzzling habit of “owning ourselves.” Sometimes it’s terrible and heartbreaking. Sometimes it’s hilarious. Often it’s a weird mix of both," says David Roush.

“After these bigoted blowhards have spent decades whipping alienated people into violently ignorant frenzy, some of them are finally realizing that the cruel system and ideology they have advocated for is harming them too. Let us pray for and work toward a world in which innocent people don’t get taken down by this ominicidql ideology, that only those who deserve their righteous comeuppance suffer it".

This single arrives on the trail of three singles from the album -- 'Vincent', 'Eddie, Legalistic Homeslice', and 'Anna O', featuring lyrics penned by Robin Kneubuhl(David Roush's mother) and channelling some serious grunge energy. In the video, directed by LA producer DJay Brawn, Ecce Shnak soprano Bella Komodromosplays Anna, who is entrapped in an asylum. Through an act of heroic resistance, she overthrows her abusive doctor, finally setting herself free.

In 2025, Ecce Shnak released their acclaimed 'Shadows Grow Fangs' EP, mixed by Nicholas Vernhes (Animal Collective, Deerhunter, Wild Nothing, War on Drugs) and mastered by Grammy award-winning engineer Joe LaPorta (David Bowie, The Weeknd, Foo Fighters, Vampire Weekend).

As of October 27th, 'Own'd Thyself' is available from digital music platforms, includingSpotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp.  Tickets for their East Coast tour are available for sale now.

THE ETERNAL Unveils New Lyric Video for Album Title Track "Obscured Horizons," an Epic Prog-Doom Anthem

Australian/Finnish progressive dark metal masters THE ETERNAL have unveiled a brand-new lyric video for "Obscured Horizons," the title track of their latest studio album, released on September 18, 2026 via Reigning Phoenix Music! Following their successful Australian tour alongside Finnish metal icons AMORPHIS, the band continues to celebrate their critically acclaimed record with a new visual offering that shines a spotlight on its progressive depth and musical sophistication.

Showcasing a different side of the album than its previous singles, "Obscured Horizons" brings the band's progressive influences to the forefront. Blending intricate guitar work, atmospheric passages, and haunting melodies, the track unfolds with a sense of both melancholy and hope, capturing the emotional complexity and expansive songwriting that define THE ETERNAL's latest work. Its dynamic arrangements and immersive atmosphere offer another compelling glimpse into the band's ever-evolving sound.

Watch the new lyric video now streaming below:

The release follows a successful run of Australian shows supporting AMORPHIS in September, which saw THE ETERNAL bring their distinctive blend of dark, atmospheric metal to audiences across Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney, and Canberra. Their live performances earned praise from the press, with AMNPLIFY highlighting frontman Mark Kelson's “vocals were delivered with a worldclass polish and commanding stage presence all set long”alongside the band's musicianship of “a really high calibre,” while HOT METAL hailed their show as “an equally powerful performance.”

Meanwhile, Obscured Horizons continues to receive praise from the international metal press. UK's POWERPLAY MAGAZINE hailed the record as “a remarkable addition to The Eternal’s canon,” while Germany's METAL HAMMER celebrated it as “a total work of art,” and Australia's METAL ROOS praised its “depth and creativity that is unmatched!” In a recent interview with Denmark's METALIZED MAGAZINE, Mark Kelson also shed light on the band's progressive approach: “When we talk about our music being progressive, it shouldn't be understood as us being technical wizards. We're not Dream Theater. The experimental side comes through in the atmospheric textures.”

Looking ahead, THE ETERNAL are set to return to Finland in June 2027, performing at Kesä Mössö in Lahti alongside AMORPHIS and Danish rock veterans D-A-D. With more live announcements coming soon, fans can look forward to further opportunities to experience the band's captivating music on stage!

Released on September 18, 2026, via Reigning Phoenix Music, Obscured Horizons marks the eighth studio album from THE ETERNAL. Following the widespread acclaim of their 2024 full-length Skinwalker and the evocative 2026 EP Celestial, the band returns with one of its most immersive and ambitious works to date, further refining its signature blend of doom-laden textures, progressive sophistication, and haunting melodic resonance.

At its core, Obscured Horizons explores disillusionment, fractured identity, and the struggle to reclaim clarity in a world saturated with distortion. Moving through emotional collapse, existential unrest, and eventual renewal, the album confronts deception, memory, and the search for self-awareness. Combining melancholic atmospheres with crushing heaviness, intricate arrangements, and cinematic depth, THE ETERNAL deliver a deeply personal yet expansive listening experience.

Featuring Mark Kelson (vocals/guitars) and Richie Poate (guitars) in Melbourne, alongside Niclas Etelävuori (bass, ex-AMORPHIS/FLAT EARTH) and Jan Rechberger (drums, AMORPHIS) in Helsinki, the band continues to bridge continents through a shared musical vision. Produced by Kelson and Rechberger, Obscured Horizons represents both culmination and evolution, reaffirming THE ETERNAL's place among the most distinctive voices in progressive dark metal.

Obscured Horizons is available on CD, vinyl, and digital formats via Reigning Phoenix Music. Purchase your album copy here: https://theeternal.rpm.link/horizonsPR

Thy Catafalque Release New Single “Cseremisz”

Today, the two-time Fonogram winner Thy Catafalque is releasing the third single single from its quietly expansive thirteenth album, XIII: Sárga erdő. “Cseremisz” is a folk song that never existed, built from traditional Hungarian instruments, a choir and familiar faces.

“In English, ‘Cseremisz means Cheremis”, explains Thy Catafalque visionary Tamás Kátai. “They are a Finno-Ugric people living along the river Volga in Russia. They are an ethnic minority in Mari El Republic and because of the Finno-Urgic roots they are relatives to Hungarian people. We have learned about them in primary school, and they have always been a very distant and mystical people to me.

“This song is a fictitious folk song from that region that could be connected to recent historical events as well”, Kátai continues. “We have some traditional instruments like citera and koboz here with accordion and a male choir together with Bálint Bokodi on vocals.”

Watch the music video for “Cseremisz” below:

XIII: Sárga erdő comes out November 20, 2026 on Season of Mist.

Pre-order

https://orcd.co/thycatafalquesargaerdo

On XIII: Sárga erdő (Yellow Forest), Kátai wanders through an old, half-remembered time from a quietly expansive direction. Thy Catafalque’s new album features more than 30 collaborators, including a 20-person choir and, for the first time in the project’s history, a live drummer. However, the folk and classical elements that flooded 2024’s XII: A gyönyörű álmok ezután jönnek are handled here with a lighter touch. Just as a forest doesn't explain its colors, the album turns inside you, until you look up to discover that you’re  somewhere new.

“Cseremisz” moves across the steppe at night. A steppe-gull soars over the plain. The narrator is the wolf in the reeds and the fox in the meadow. A heart beats “like hooves on the steppe”, while a black ship drifts down the Volga with its soldiers asleep aboard. Only the pounding of hooves is awake in the dark, a headlong flight that somehow feels beautiful. The song closes on a line it repeats and does not soften: “A halál mögöttem száll, utolér” (“Death flies behind me, and overtakes”).

“Cseremisz” features the Male Choir of Tiszaföldvár, Bálint Bokodi on vocals, Anikó Barna on citera and koboz, Dmitry Karev on accordion, Dario Cei on flute and Árpád Szenti on drums.

Sárga erdő, out this autumn via Season of Mist, was recorded across various locations and at Miracle Sound Szeged with Gábor Vári again handling engineering, mixing and mastering. It marks another first for the project: real drums, played rather than programmed, for the first time in Thy Catafalque's history. Thirty-four musicians and vocalists appear across the record, along with a twenty-voice male choir, but the folk and classical textures that flooded XII—sitar, kamancheh, zither, strings—are handled with a lighter touch here, chosen with more precision for the moments that call for them. There's no unifying story across the twelve tracks, only that same felt sense of wandering through old, half-remembered time. A forest doesn't explain its colours—it just keeps turning them, until you look up and you're standing somewhere new.

Cosmo Fighter is a sonic roller coaster that forces us to reconfigure how we see the world. While it treats the listener with fierce respect, it plants subtle, haunting questions that linger long after the music fades. By the final track, the album clears out the background noise of modern society, leaving a profound, open mental space ready to be repopulated with life's true harmony.

Written, performed, produced, and mixed entirely by Phil, other than a few guest appearances, it was born from an unexpected moment of silence. Finding himself off the road and on a rare hiatus, he felt an aggressive creative pull, an inspiration calling him to once again venture boldly into the labyrinths of creativity.

CROWNSHIFT ANNOUNCE NEW ALBUM THE SHADOWS WE BURIED FOR JANUARY 29, 2027 NEW SINGLE AND VIDEO 'IN THE DEAD OF NIGHT' NOW STREAMING

Finnish modern metal powerhouse CROWNSHIFT have officially revealed the details of their eagerly awaited second studio album, The Shadows We Buried, set for global release on January 29, 2027. Celebrating the announcement, the quartet has also premiered their thunderous new single, 'In The Dead Of Night', accompanied by a striking official music video.

Following the impact of their critically lauded self-titled debut, CROWNSHIFT - comprising seasoned musicians known for their individual histories in iconic acts such as Nightwish, Children Of Bodom, Wintersun, and Finntroll - have quickly elevated themselves from an exciting collaborative project into a dominant standalone force. Extensive international touring, standout festival appearances, European support runs alongside heavy metal royalty like Dirkschneider, and an acclaimed showing on the 2025 edition of the 70,000 Tons of Metal cruise have honed the group into a razor-sharp live unit.

Now, that raw touring kineticism fuels The Shadows We Buried. The forthcoming record represents a natural yet daring evolution of the band’s signature sound, interweaving modern melodic death metal riffs with progressive flourishes, soaring vocal hooks, and dark, cinematic breadth.

The lead single, 'In The Dead Of Night', sets the stage with relentless rhythmic drive and sweeping atmospheres, showcasing the band at their most focused and intense.

What started as a long-held vision shared by four friends has quickly grown into one of Finland's most exciting modern metal acts. Bringing together musicians renowned for their work with Nightwish, Children Of Bodom, Wintersun and Finntroll, CROWNSHIFT has established an unmistakable identity of its own—one built on fearless songwriting, world-class musicianship and a sound that refuses to be confined by genre boundaries.

The band's self-titled debut album arrived to widespread critical acclaim, earning rave reviews from the international metal press and making an immediate impact on the charts. What followed was an intensive touring cycle that firmly established CROWNSHIFT as a formidable live act. From major Finnish festivals to stages across Europe, including a European tour supporting Dirkschneider (UDO), the band quickly translated its studio ambition into an electrifying live experience. In 2025, CROWNSHIFT also brought its music to the high seas as part of the legendary 70,000 Tons of Metal cruise, performing alongside some of the world's leading metal artists.

Musically, CROWNSHIFT continues to blur the lines between melodic death metal, modern metal and progressive influences. Crushing riffs meet soaring melodies, technical precision serves memorable songwriting, and cinematic atmospheres seamlessly coexist with relentless heaviness. Every song is driven by the band's commitment to constant evolution while remaining unmistakably CROWNSHIFT.

Now, the quartet enters its next chapter with its sophomore album, The Shadows We Buried. Building upon the foundation of the acclaimed debut, the new record pushes the band's sonic identity even further—heavier, more melodic and more dynamic than ever before. It captures a band that has grown through countless miles on the road, relentless creative ambition and an uncompromising desire to keep moving forward.

Having already earned the respect of fans, critics and fellow musicians alike, CROWNSHIFT stands ready to take the next step. The Shadows We Buried is not a reinvention, but the sound of a band fully realizing its vision.

I YA TOYAH's blistering new single 'White Walls' explores our modern mental meltdown, announcing new EP

Alternative music powerhouse I Ya Toyah has released 'White Walls', drawing attention to the personal side of the mental crisis endemic within modern society. The accompanying video was directed, filmed and edited by Chicago filmmaker Alex Zarek.  Through haunting imagery, this release highlights the struggles that often remain hidden behind carefully maintained appearances, inviting listeners to look beyond the surface and recognize the silent battles many people face every day.

With the release timed with World Mental Health Day, the initial proceeds were donated to Backline Care, which helps people in the music industry access the mental health care and support they need. Individuals can also support this vital organization by donating directly.

'White Walls' is her fourth and final single in a series leading up to her 'Error Prospect: Human' EP, which was developed in collaboration with Grammy-nominated producer Johnny K, (Disturbed, Staind, 3 Doors Down, Megadeath, Finger Eleven).  The first major release since her 2024 album 'DRAMA', co-produced with and mixed by STABBING WESTWARD’s WALTER FLAKUS, this new material expands I Ya Toyah's sonic vision without losing the dark atmosphere, emotional intensity, and independent spirit she is known for.

Where the preceding trilogy -- 'Feelings', 'Apology' and her own outstanding rendition of Nine Inch Nails' classic 'Closer' -- confronts emotional disconnection, the destructive nature of ego, and the obsession with external validation, 'White Walls' marks a pivotal shift in perspective, turning the examination inward. While the earlier songs question what we are becoming as individuals and as a society, 'White Walls' explores what happens to a person trying to survive within that reality, revealing the emotional consequences of a world increasingly disconnected from genuine human experience.

Chicago-based and Polish-born, I Ya Toyah is not just a musical act — she’s a movement. Blending industrial and dark electronic music with haunting melodies, powerful beats, and raw human emotion, she creates a world where beauty meets distortion and vulnerability becomes an act of defiance. With an intense, chameleonic voice and a dark melodic edge, her music confronts inner struggles, challenges expectations, and searches for human connection in a world that often demands perfection.

"'White Walls' came to life in a very personal place — on one of those days when the darkness became almost unbearable, when being inside my own mind felt louder than anything happening outside of it. I wrote because I needed somewhere for it to go. I’m incredibly grateful that I have art as an outlet. I can turn something painful into sound, words, images — give it a body outside of myself. But while writing 'White Walls', I kept thinking about how many people don’t have that outlet. How many learn to perform “fine” so convincingly that nobody thinks to look twice. How much can live behind a face that gives nothing away,," explains I Ya Toyah.

"That is where 'White Walls' lives: in the distance between what we show and what we survive. It is the noise behind the silence. The exhaustion of carrying an invisible weight. The strange loneliness of standing among people while feeling completely unreachable. And somewhere inside all of that, the need to be seen — not rescued, not fixed, just truly seen."

The most vulnerable chapter of the new EP, 'White Walls' exposes the loneliness of suffering in plain sight, the exhaustion of pretending to be okay, and the invisible distance between how we appear and what we endure. Juxtaposing the confrontation and defiance of the preceding tracks, I Ya Toyah offers a deeply personal examination of isolation, mental health, and the desperate need to be seen. Rather than offering a comforting resolution, listeners are left with an uncomfortable question -- what happens when someone can no longer maintain the illusion that everything is fine?

"Sometimes the person who looks perfectly fine is standing behind their own white walls. This song began as something I needed on a very dark day. I hope it can become a crack in the wall for someone else," says I Ya Toyah.

"Releasing this single around World Mental Health Day felt inseparable from its purpose. Mental health advocacy is deeply woven into my work and into what I want to do with the voice I’ve been given. I want to help make more space for the conversations we still hide from, for the feelings we bury to make other people comfortable, and for the people who are fighting battles that leave no visible wounds."

A singer, producer, multi-instrumentalist, and visual artist, I Ya Toyah is DIY to the core from writing and production to performance. Her creative vision extends beyond the music, transforming live performances into immersive experiences somewhere between a ritual, a confession, and a beautiful malfunction. Balancing electronic intensity with emotional vulnerability, she brings an unmistakable presence to the stage -- one that is fierce, unpredictable, and unapologetically human.

Since her debut 'Code Blue', she has built an international presence, touring across the US, Canada, and Europe and sharing stages with Orgy, Cold, Stabbing Westward, Front Line Assembly, Wednesday 13, Beasto Blanco, and Stitched Up Heart. In 2026, she joined Front Line Assembly as main support throughout Europe and will close 2026 with her first UK tour, supporting Little Miss Nasty, seductive global icons of dark performance art and rebellious burlesque.

'White Walls' is out now and available everywhere, including Spotify, Apple Musicand Bandcamp, where her the I Ya Toyah catalogue can also be found. On November 20th, her 'Error Prospect: Human' EP will be released via Femme Fatale Records. Tickets for the UK tour can be ordered at https://www.iyatoyah.com/tour

Country Metallers CODY PARKS AND THE DIRTY SOUTH Share New Single "Hairy Buffalo" + Music Video

Today, Nashville's own CODY PARKS AND THE DIRTY SOUTH are proud to release their new single "Hairy Buffalo," out now via Frontiers Music Srl. The new track arrives alongside a music video.

Cody shares on the new single:

“When I was in college, I was in a fraternity, and we had this chant that went, ‘Fun, fun, fun, the fun has just begun.’ I always thought that would be a really cool way to start a metal song, especially with a heavy breakdown hitting right after it. That was really where the idea for ‘Hairy Buffalo’ was born. From there, it just evolved into writing an entire song about some of my experiences in college. As a songwriter in Nashville, I feel most writers in town fall into this thing where they feel like the lyrics they are writing have to be airtight and make 100% sense to the listener, and understandably so, but after doing that in town for the better part of a decade, I wanted to do something different. None of the lyrics to this song will make any sense to anybody except the guys who actually went through all of that stuff with me back in college. And I kind of like that.”

Watch the Music Video for "Hairy Buffalo" Below:

CODY PARKS AND THE DIRTY SOUTH are redefining what a Nashville band can sound like. Led by singer and songwriter Cody Parks, the group fuses the culture of Southern country with the power and attitude of classic heavy metal—creating a sound they proudly call Country Metal.

What started as a vision for Parks became a full-force band in 2019 when he assembled a group of players who shared the same love for big riffs, high energy, and an unapologetic rock attitude. Drawing inspiration from both country storytelling and hard-hitting metal acts like Metallica, Ratt, and Pantera, CODY PARKS AND THE DIRTY SOUTH deliver music built on crushing guitars, driving rhythms, and hooks that hit just as hard as the breakdowns.

The band’s genre-bending mashup “Thunder Cash ’69,” from their 2023 covers EP ‘Smothered & Covered,’ exploded online and across streaming platforms. The track went on to top the iTunes Rock chart in three countries and reach #2 and #3 on Billboard’s Rock and Hard Rock Digital Song Sales charts, introducing a wide audience to the band’s unique blend of country authenticity and metal intensity. That momentum recently led to the band signing a new record deal with Frontiers Music Srl, setting the stage for the next chapter of Country Metal. In 2026, CODY PARKS AND THE DIRTY SOUTHbrought their high-voltage live show to audiences across the country as direct support for Steel Panther on the “Twenty Twenty $ex Tour.”

With releases like ‘Country Metal, Vol. 1’ and a reputation for turning every show into a full-throttle party, CODY PARKS AND THE DIRTY SOUTH are proving that country and metal belong on the same stage. Their debut full-length is scheduled for June 2027 on Country Metal Records / Frontiers Music Srl. Crank it up. This is Country Metal.

Black Metal Duo STORMRULER Releases "Chapter I. The Sword, The Scepter & The Seal"

US-based black metal duo STORMRULER establishes the worldbuilding of their forthcoming album Morning Nautical Twilight in the new single and video offering, "Chapter I. The Sword, The Scepter & The Seal." Morning Nautical Twilight, will be released on December 4, 2026, via Distortion Music Group (DMG) - Powered by Reigning Phoenix Music.

STORMRULER comments on "Chapter I. The Sword, The Scepter & The Seal":
“The Sword, The Scepter and The Seal is a historical account told to the young wanderer by a scraggly old patron during the prologue of Morning Nautical Twilight. Beginning in the year 1142 F.A. TS3 takes place 2150 years before the rest of the record setting the course for the troubles that will come to haunt Aurelia and to give the listener a brief history on the origins of the Imperial Scepter.

The piece itself weaves in a sonic assault of folk, power, black and death. Equipped with soaring leads, mountainous melodies and a blistering rhythmic attack it takes the listener on a journey through the early ages of Umbria and the forging of the Imperial Scepter in the glowing embers of the Lunar Pyre.”

Set in present-day Aurelia, "Chapter I. The Sword, The Scepter & The Seal" introduces the land, core characters and the overarching story of Morning Nautical Twilight. About STORMRULER:

Born out of St. Louis, MO, the ferocious black metal duo STORMRULER is comprised of guitarist and vocalist Jason Asberry and drummer Jesse Schobel. Captivated by fantasy realms, the band's imagery and sonic design draw from this theme entwined with historical elements.

The debut album Under The Burning Eclipse emerged in 2021, released via Napalm Records. This full-length was followed in quick succession by the sophomore offering, Sacred Rites & Black Magick, also via Napalm Records in 2022.

In 2026, STORMRULER signed to Distortion Music Group (DMG) - Powered by Reigning Phoenix Music, releasing the standalone single "Dark Age Of Deception." Plunging into a dark and immersive shroud of atmospheric layers and commanding intensity, "Dark Age Of Deception" signified the beginning of the band's next incarnation.

Void Sector Zero Release Twisted New Single "Extraterrestrial Disassembly"

After orbiting each other for years, three of extreme metal’s brightest burning stars are making a powerful creative explosion as Void Sector Zero. Heshers from across the extreme metal galaxy are marveling at the modern spin on progressive thrash metal that guitarist Christian Muenzner (Necrophagist, ex-Obscura, ex-Alkaloid), Gabe Seeber (Decrepit Birth, Abigail Williams, Carach Angren) and Alex Weber (Revocation, Malignancy, Exist) launch into the stratosphere on their debut album, Dead Space Enigma.

Today, Void Sector Zero are releasing the second advanced single from Dead Space Enigma. With a heavy dose of cosmic horror and guest vocals from Morean (Alkaloid, ex-Dark Fortress), “Extraterrestrial Disassembly” puts a  frighteningly fun twist on progressive technical trash metal.

“‘Extraterrestrial Disassembly’ is about a DMT trip gone horribly wrong” Muenzner says. “Even though it’s the shortest song on Dead Space Enigma, it has lots of odd metric riffs, proggy riffs, a clean chorus and nods to hard rock and classic metal bands, specifically Coroner, Mercyful Fate, Annihilator, Helstar and Holy Moses”.

The stars of Void Sector Zero first crossed paths in 2022. Muenzner, Weber and Seeber hit it off while all three were playing together in Obscura during the world tour for A Valediction.

“I’ve always wanted to play tech-thrash”, Muenzner says. “When I decided to start my own band in this style, I thought of Alex and Gabe. Not only are they both great players, but I knew from our time in Obscura that we had great chemistry both on and off stage”.

Despite the band’s lengthy incubation period, Void Sector Zero hatch something out of this world on Dead Space Enigma. Loaded with thrashing riffs and Muenzner’s technically exquisite guitar solo, “Extraterrestrial Disassembly” unpacks a truly alien hypothesis: What on earth would happen if DMT was extracted from a dead person? Seeber’s warp-speed drumming leads to a mind-blowing conclusion.

“Reality - forever altered”, Weber growls. Beneath Morean’s glowing harmonies, his groovy bass runs morph into a chorus so catchy it’ll beam into your skull like a signal sent from the deepest and darkest reaches of outer space.

“I am extremely excited to be creating music with Christian and Alex as Void Sector Zero”, Seeber says. “Playing with musicians of this caliber will push me to progress and become a better musician”.

“Dead Space Enigma was a real blast to work on”, echoes vocalist and bassist Alex Weber. “Chris wrote a very demanding set of tunes that really pushed my bass and vocal techniques to new levels. I can’t wait for everyone to hear it!”.

The video for “Extraterrestrial Disassembly” was filmed and directed by Jesus Hernandez.

On Dead Space Enigma, Void Sector Zero emerge with a star-studded explosion of progressive thrash metal.

Swedish Powerhouses DYNAZTY Sign with Napalm Records!

DYNAZTY dive head-first into a new chapter by signing with Napalm Records. In the years since their formation, the band has walked a path unlike other bands. With the first album with their new label, Dark Arts, coming March 5, 2027, the Swedish masters of melodies invite listeners on a journey of their own. Reaching far beyond what they have crafted before and evolving as musicians and songwriters as well as people, DYNAZTY explore the darkness of the human condition. Throughout twelve new songs, Dark Arts takes us by the hand and guides us into the deepest depth of our psyche — and safely back out again.

DYNAZTY about the signing:
''We are greatly excited about joining forces with Napalm Records for this next phase of DYNAZTY. A label and team that understands this band and shows real enthusiasm and willingness to invest time, effort, and muscle into it is exactly what we have been looking for for a long time! We're off to a great start already with Dark Arts and can't wait to keep going!''

Along with the album announcement comes the first single: "The Mission" serves modern power metal melodies in heroic bombast, set to stay in your head for a long time — the dynamic voice of Nils Molin (also Amaranthe) will make sure of that. DYNAZTY's own next mission lies in their upcoming tour supporting metal legends ACCEPT celebrating their 50th anniversary ‚ with genre icons recognizing younger heroes, the Swedish quintet is set for a bright future.

DYNAZTY about "The Mission":
'''The Mission' is a song about the relentless nature of the human spirit to overcome obstacles and insurmountable hardships. One of the first songs we wrote for the album and a great first showing of the album Dark Arts — 'The Mission' is a DYNAZTY anthem we feel strongly for. Enjoy and stay tuned for a whole lot more!''

Watch the Official Music Video for "The Mission" Below:

With their tenth full-length, DYNAZTY have melodic metal and power metal shake hands in a suspenseful opus. 12 songs, masterfully diverse and focused in their separate goals, unveil the darkest parts of the human soul and contrast them with a certain sense of hope in our humanity. Dark Arts expands the band's mighty reach in two equally vast acts, showing DYNAZTY at the top of their game.

DYNAZTY about Dark Arts:
''We set out with a clear goal when writing Dark Arts. And in the efforts and quest of creating the most all-encompassing and ultimate DYNAZTY experience and album yet, we drove ourselves further than we've ever done before, close to the brink of exhaustion and literal madness while touring for Game Of Faces concurrently with writing this one. But I do think that we ultimately clawed our way over the finish line and completed our mission, because to me at least, Dark Arts is the band's most accomplished work and something we feel genuinely proud of.

"And to make a long story shorter and sum up the album in fewer words: It's one hell of a melodic heavy metal ride and journey from start to finish. The band is firing on all cylinders on this one — don't sleep on it!

P.S.: If you are looking for the real deep dive experience on the concept of the album, look no further than the Deluxe Version of Dark Arts with two extra songs and fantastic artwork by Péter Sallai. Highly recommended!"

''Lay Down The Law'' kicks off the first of two acts and starts the descent with a melody equally powerful and catchy. DYNAZTY are marching towards the abyss, and they're doing it quickly, hammering in every note and elusively joyful keyboard line on their way. The title track is reached early: ''Dark Arts'' is, just like its lyrics say, ''striking at the speed of the light'' and especially charming with its nostalgic melodies. ''Valkyrie'' picks up on the earworm qualities of its predecessors with ease while also mirroring the steady path further into inner darkness through its instrumentals. Merely the heroic feeling assures listeners that Dark Arts will offer a way out. Following, ''Red Herring'' lures with prominent drum beats and instantly catchy singalong passages right from the start. Also featuring dizzyingly high vocals by frontman Nils Molin, its catchiness is not at all a red herring, but a herald of Dark Arts' mesmerizing power. DYNAZTY slow down with ''Call On Me'' while losing none of their impact. From its gentle intro to soaring chorus, the song takes listeners ''to the edge of the waterfall of the human soul'', the music a reassuring companion. Fully committing to an emotional waltz time, ''The Unraveling'' is just as encouraging as ''Mirror of the Soul'' right after, whose strong climaxing structure marks the start of the album's second act, the ascent. ''The Mission'' serves heroic bombast, successfully designed to stay in your head for a long time. ''Shadow of the Abyss'' adds a rave vibe and dark riffs to DYNAZTY's gripping new album, yet again molding it into a convincing track by pairing it with Molin's equally dynamic voice. ''Candlelight Mysteria'' feels like a warm embrace in its fantastical storytelling, whereas ''Broken Enigma'' unfolds as a sweepingly infectious and fun track. Wrapping up the album is ''Dark Matter," which grows from a slow symphonic opening into grand storytelling. Everything falls into place as DYNAZTY connect the previous compositions into one all-encompassing epic.

Death doom outfit SOLYSTALGIA Premieres New Music Video for Song "Funeral"

Death doom outfit SOLYSTALGIA is now sharing a brand new music video for the song "Funeral," which is taken from the band's debut full-length that was released on June 24, 2026 via Nameless Grave Records! The video can now be seen below.

The album can be streamed, ordered, or downloaded HERE.

Solystalgia delivers a heavy dose of doom injected directly into the veins of death metal. Their debut is a crushing album that takes intricate death metal riffs on a journey through the darkest and most echoing corners of the brain. Featuring the drumming of Austin Wheeler (Savage Oath) and guest vocals by Tanner Anderson (Obsequiae, Majesties, Crypt Sermon), the record offers a bleak, yet moving portrait of grief and atrocity.

Mixed by the band and mastered by Arthur Rizk, the production emphasizes both the crushing weight of the riffs and the sweeping, ambient soliloquies that define the band’s sound. This is a mandatory experience for fans of the "new wave" of sophisticated death-doom.

Recommended for fans of: Hooded Menace, Mortiferum, Ahab, Dream Unending, and Disembowelment.
