Swedish rock icon MATTI ALFONZETTI returns with 'Going for the Kill,' his new studio album set for release on December 11, 2026, via Frontiers Music Srl.

The first single and official music video, “Runaway”, are also available today, giving a taste of the upcoming record.

MATTI ALFONZETTI described the single as “very much classic rock, and a favourite of mine. I think it sets the mood for the whole album. It’s pure Alfonzetti!”

'Going for the Kill' is a dynamic melodic rock album that seamlessly blends classic influences with a modern edge. Best known for his soulful voice, powerful delivery, and songwriting prowess, ALFONZETTI once again proves why he’s considered one of Scandinavia’s most enduring and respected rock vocalists.

He stated: “'Going For The Kill' is my way of paying tribute to 70s and 80s AOR rock which I grew up with. I think any fan of that era will understand what this release is about.”

'Going for the Kill' is a tour de force of contemporary AOR and hard-edged melodic rock, taking cues from genre masters such as Foreigner, FM, Def Leppard, Bryan Adams, and Alias, while injecting fresh energy and production polish. From the soaring hooks to the crisp arrangements, the album is a showcase of melodic craft and passionate performance.

On the recordings, MATTI ALFONZETTI not only takes care of lead and backing vocals but also handles bass, rhythm guitars, and keyboards, underlining his multi-instrumental talent and personal investment in the project. The line-up of musicians on the album also includes Dante Alfonzetti (bass on “Going for the Kill” and “When The Gods Play Rock n' Roll”), Staffan Brodén on drums, and Martin Jepsen Andersen on lead guitar.

With a career spanning over four decades, Matti first made waves in the '80s with Bam Bam Boys and went on to front acclaimed acts such as Jagged Edge (UK) and Skintrade, before embarking on a successful solo journey with albums like 'Ready' and 'Machine.' Thy Catafalque Release New Single “Tömbök”

Today, the two-time Fonogram winner Thy Catafalque is releasing the second single from its quietly expansive thirteenth album. Both the darkest and heaviest song on XIII: Sárga erdő, “Tömbök” is centered around a natural phenomenon that’s reminiscent of daily life’s affect on the human mind.

“In English, ‘Tömbök’ means Masses”, explains Thy Catafalque visionary Tamás Kátai. “The lyrics are about the method of waste disposal by incineration and the process of how the waste is being divided into heat and slag or lifeless masses and how matter shifts its shape during different chemical and physical circumstances. You can apply the phenomenon to how the human mindset is affected by daily life, if you wish, though that’s just an idea”.

On XIII: Sárga erdő (Yellow Forest), Kátai wanders through an old, half-remembered time from a quietly expansive direction. Thy Catafalque’s new album features more than 30 collaborators, including a 20-person choir and, for the first time in the project’s history, a live drummer. However, the folk and classical elements that flooded 2024’s XII: A gyönyörű álmok ezután jönnek are handled here with a lighter touch. Just as a forest doesn't explain its colors, the album turns inside you, until you look up to discover that you’re somewhere new.

Sárga erdő, out this autumn via Season of Mist, was recorded across various locations and at Miracle Sound Szeged with Gábor Vári again handling engineering, mixing and mastering. It marks another first for the project: real drums, played rather than programmed, for the first time in Thy Catafalque's history. Thirty-four musicians and vocalists appear across the record, along with a twenty-voice male choir, but the folk and classical textures that flooded XII—sitar, kamancheh, zither, strings—are handled with a lighter touch here, chosen with more precision for the moments that call for them. There's no unifying story across the twelve tracks, only that same felt sense of wandering through old, half-remembered time. A forest doesn't explain its colours—it just keeps turning them, until you look up and you're standing somewhere new.

Inland Empire purveyors of vehicular hardcore mayhem BIG ASS TRUCK I.E. have announced their catastrophic debut EP, FOUND ON ROAD DEAD, arriving digitally and on limited edition vinyl October 20th via Nuclear Blast Records.

Along with the EP announcement, BIG ASS TRUCK I.E. have unleashed its bludgeoning first single, “DRAGGING MEAT,” accompanied by a music video directed by Astral Media/Zack Perez that captures the band’s full-throttle collision of hardcore, concussive breakdowns and monster trucking chaos.

“‘The Price We Pay’ is really about losing someone you love and trying to hold on to the good times while you’re living through the bad ones. Loss is something we all deal with eventually, and sometimes those memories—the laughs, the stories, the moments you’ll never forget—are what get you through the hardest days,” says George Pond, bassist for Swim The Current

Adding an especially meaningful layer to the track is JD DeServio of Black Label Society, who contributes piano to the song. Pond and DeServio share a friendship that spans years of touring, conversations, and a mutual love of music. Both are accomplished bass players, but their long-standing friendship had never translated into a musical collaboration—until now.

While DeServio is widely recognized for his work as a bassist with Black Label Society, Pond emphasizes that his talents extend far beyond the instrument.

"This song became even more special to me because my good buddy JD DeServio from Black Label Society plays piano on the track. JD and I are both bass players, and after all these years of friendship, touring and talking just about every day, we’ve always wanted to do something together musically but somehow never had the opportunity. People obviously know JD as an incredible bass player, but he’s also an amazing multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and producer—and just an all-around amazing dude."

"More importantly, he’s one of my closest friends. Having him play on a song this personal means more to me than I can really put into words. He absolutely crushed the piano part and brought an emotion to the song that was exactly what it needed. After being friends for so many years, it’s an honor to finally have our names together on a piece of music. I couldn’t be prouder of what he brought to ‘Price We Pay.’”

“The back story on this one is very personal. I had written the music as an instrumental the week my pup Kodi passed away. When George and Greg heard it, they asked if they could use the music for an STC song, and I agreed. The lyrics that George and Marcos wrote capture all the emotions of losing a loved one. It was the perfect marriage of music and lyrics," adds Joe Gareri, the band's lead guitarist.

Weathers Release New Single "Teeth" and Official Lyric Video via Big Machine Rock

Alt-rock outfit Weathers has released their new track "Teeth" and the accompanying lyric video via Big Machine Rock. Prior to today, the band shared "Happy Pillz (Higher Dose)", a fresh reimagining of fan-favorite track "Happy Pills", and their latest banger, "Antidote". Speaking about the inspiration behind "Teeth", the band commented:

“'Teeth' is one of the most interesting songs we’ve ever written, not because it’s necessarily honest or deep and vulnerable, but actually because it was inspired by my celebrity crush. I wanted to deliver an idea of that kind of parasocial relationship or the thought we all have at least once when thinking about celebrities we like which is “would we be friends in real life?” However the twist being that this character in the song represents those people out there that think they have a personal relationship with someone they don’t know. Hence my favorite lyric, “you would like me, you would love me” which leans into the delusion that maybe they could be friends even though they don’t know that person at all.

We’ve all had celebrity crushes before and wondered what it would be like to meet them. I wanted to take things a step further and bring a dark ridiculous twist to the song making it feel possessive and scary. Fun fact, while writing this song we had this actors tv show playing in the room.”

Fans will soon have their chance to see Weathers hit the stage on the upcoming Moonbloom US tour alongside VOILÀ and Ella Red. The tour kicks off Tuesday, October 27, in Los Angeles, California at The Fonda and wraps on Sunday, November 15, in Denver, Colorado. ABOUT WEATHERS

Southern California-based alternative rock band Weathers — lead singer/frontman Cameron Boyer, guitarist Cameron Olsenand bassist Brennen Bates — have been consistently creating finely crafted introspective pop songs heavily inspired by the counter-culture of the 80s and 90s since forming in 2015. The band makes music that speaks to those among us who tend to forget that, regardless of outward appearances, everyone is struggling with something and that no one is alone. Weathers’ story is a tale of growing up, of coming into one’s own, and includes themes of depression or anxiety and the often difficult maintenance of mental health.

They first grabbed listeners' attention with 2016's "Happy Pills," which peaked at number 21 on the Billboard Alternative Songs chart. Initially, vocalist Boyer and guitarist Olsen met in 2012 while attending a battle of the bands in the Los Angeles suburb of Manhattan Beach. By 2015, they had formed Weathers, recruiting bassist Bates. Signing with RCA Records, they released their debut single, "I Don't Wanna Know," a swaggeringly moody song that drew comparisons to Walk the Moon and The Neighbourhood. With its massive choirs, soaring melodies and larger-than-life heavy metal spirit, the song already stood out as one of the band’s most epic compositions. For this new version, INDUCTION are bringing one of the most influential voices and personalities in German heavy and power metal into the fold.

For Tim Hansen, the collaboration carries an additional personal significance. Not only does he consider his father’s unmistakable voice a perfect fit for a song like "Gods Of Steel," the two also recently worked together on the new HANSEN album, Born with a Hammer, that was released on September 18th via earMUSIC.

Ferret Music's Wounded Touch Release New EP, Share “Scarlet Psalm” Video

Wounded Touch have released their brand new EP, "They Promised Eden, Vol. 2", alongside a brand new video for "Scarlet Psalm" via Ferret Music, the influential independent label known for shaping the landscape of 2000's metalcore, born of a love for punk, hardcore and metal. A scorched meditation on complicity, grief, and the violence of looking away, the track finds the band confronting the distance between witnessing suffering and taking responsibility for what comes next.

At once prayer, confession, and indictment, "Scarlet Psalm" traces the wreckage of a world conditioned to consume violence at a distance. While the lyrics give the track a ritualistic weight, the focus remains painfully human, confronting the shame of what can't be undone, the things forgiven behind a screen, and the peace that becomes intolerable once it is recognized as silence. Offering a closer look at "Scarlet Psalm" and speaking to how the Vol. 2 EP came together, vocalist Nick Holland of Wounded Touch shares:

"Volume 2, in contrast to its counterpart that released earlier in the year, maintains its cynical nature but with an aggressive optimism in both sound and subject. We admittedly hadn’t had the full thing mapped out or written when volume 1 dropped but the response to it had us in the studio almost immediately with a frenetic energy we hadn’t experienced since we were teens. Scarlet Psalm is the bridge between the band’s sound we started with and where we’ve arrived today, carried by lyrics about the righteousness of martyrdom. All our mistakes we’ve made in the past and up to this point, and the chance we were still given by Ferret coalesces with the song’s final redemptive line. “Let me make this right."

With both volumes now released, vocalist Nick Holland of Wounded Touch speaks to the evolution connecting the two chapters of "They Promised Eden":

"The marriage of “They Promised Eden” Volume 1 and 2 as a singular release is like looking at a single photo of a living thing mid metamorphosis. The first half is where the band took its sharp turn and swung for the fences with an angry, violent recklessness in sound and design. And the second half is a sonic reflection of that choice and of our trajectory. We’d only had a portion of a song and a half written when we signed to Ferret following Volume 1 and we didn’t know if we should continue on our path or deviate, but we ultimately chose to maintain with the confidence of our writing and as a nod to the earlier years as a band, include a re-recording of Sleep a Cicada Would Envy which seemed to still match the overall bleak, machine like tone. Though it’s a collection of ultimately two separate releases, it still feels like a singular release in concept and the pieces had always been intended to fit together that way."

GAVIN ADCOCK RELEASES 3RD ALBUM IN 3 YEARS: THE DAY I HANG IT UP

Gavin Adcock had an instinct to turn others’ doubt into motivation ever since he was a kid on a cattle farm in Watkinsville, Georgia. That drive serves as the inspiration behind his latest album, The Day I Hang It Up, available now via Thrivin Here Records/Warner Records Nashville. Listen HERE.

“As much as people might want to cut me down, as much as they want to make me an outcast or make me smaller in their head, I’m not going anywhere,” Adcock promises. “When I quit, it’s going to be because I want to—not because someone made me, or tried to run me out. That’s the whole premise of The Day I Hang it Up.”

A co-writer on all but four songs, the project also includes collaborations with Treaty Oak Revival, ERNEST, and his previously released fan favorite, “Cheap Thrills” with Hudson Westbrook.

The official music video for “Us Again” featuring Treaty Oak Revival premiered simultaneously with the album release. Directed by Jack Owens and produced by Sydney Hampton, the video builds a narrative around the push-and-pull of a toxic relationship, with the narrator assured that despite the relationship ending, “I know we’ll wind up us again.” Watch BELOW.

Adcock has steadily released new music since announcing the album, with 11 of the 26 tracks available before the official release. Offering a mix of heartbreak, love, and his signature “outlaw-country edge” (Parade), The Day I Hang It Up also adds a layer of depth to the country star’s repertoire. Originally released in July as one of Stough’s most stripped-down recordings to date, “Bone Dry” found the Mississippi native with nothing left between his gravel-worn vocal and the aftermath of a relationship that took everything out of him. Now, Stough and Shepherd revisit that heartbreak from the other side of the amplifier, giving the song an electric edge while leaving its emotional core exposed.

“Getting to work with Kenny Wayne Shepherd on ‘Bone Dry’ was honestly pretty surreal for me,” shares Stough. “I’ve been a fan of his music for a long time, so having him bring his guitar and his sound to a song that means a lot to me was something I’ll never forget. He took the song to a whole different level, and I’m really proud of what we made together.”

Born and raised on the Mississippi-Alabama line, 21-year-old Colin Stough was brought up on Southern rock and second chances. A self-taught guitarist and gravel-voiced storyteller influenced by The Allman Brothers, Conway Twitty and Koe Wetzel, he first picked up a guitar at age eight, later trading prized possessions for a pawn shop acoustic he still plays today. After high school, he worked full-time as an HVAC tech until his mom pushed him to audition for American Idol Season 21. Built on crushing guitar riffs, industrial electronics, atmospheric production, and the striking contrast between Tyler Ennis and Damon Tate's vocals, "Death Of The Altar", moves effortlessly between claustrophobic heaviness and enormous, soaring choruses. Across the record, Of Virtue explore what happens when devotion becomes destructive, when love turns into dependency, and when the things we give ourselves begin taking more than they give back.

That idea runs through the album in different forms. Relationships collapse under the weight of obsession, guilt and resentment, while elsewhere the band confront isolation, grief, mortality, mental turmoil and the consequences of self-destructive behavior. Religious imagery repeatedly collides with deeply human experiences of love and suffering, turning the altar into a symbol for everything we worship, sacrifice for and eventually may have to leave behind.

At its core, "Death Of The Altar" is about reaching that breaking point and finally confronting it. Songs such as "Death Of The Altar", "Enemy State", "What's It Like To Be Happy?", "Flatline", and "Devotion" approach that struggle from different angles, while the defiance of "Can't Keep Knockin' Me Down" offers another side of the record: refusing to remain trapped by the people and forces that have caused the damage.

Arriving alongside the album is "Too Late", a massive, emotionally driven metalcore track that captures Of Virtue at their most visceral. Urgent rhythms and punishing riffs collide with soaring melodies as screams and clean vocals trade places throughout one of the record's most immediate choruses. Beneath its intensity lies an unflinching confrontation with regret, selfishness, and the realization that sometimes the damage has already been done. The track's repeated acknowledgement that there may no longer be a way back perfectly reflects the wider emotional weight running throughout "Death Of The Altar".

Facing his mistakes without making excuses on "Too Late", co-vocalist and guitarist Damon Tate shares:

"When this song was being written, I was at a lower point in my life, reflecting on past mistakes, moments where I was not my best self and realizing that I had hurt people in ways that I didn't (or refused to) acknowledge. My emotional maturity was being tested like never before, and by bringing all of these issues forward, I forced myself to swallow the proverbial bitter pill and accept those circumstances. My view of intimate relationships, as well as those with platonic friends and family, was skewed. I have had a hard time communicating my feelings over the course of my life and I don't want those who love and support me to feel like I am shutting them out. I want to be able to feel comfortable asking questions and connecting on a meaningful level before their time on this Earth is up."

On what it took for the band to tear themselves down and rebuild on "Death Of The Altar", co-vocalist and guitarist Damon Tate continues:

"Words can't properly describe how this record feels for all of us! In many ways, this was the hardest record we have ever made emotionally, spiritually and mentally. There were arguments, tense moments and many long conversations peeling back the layers of who we are as a band and what we want to convey with this record. DEATH OF THE ALTAR for us collectively is an ego death experience. The things we thought were the most important were, in time, the things holding us back from the best version of ourselves.
