Venice Beach hardcore unit XCOMM announce their debut album Time To Burn, due Friday, May 22 via Blowed Out Records, and share new single and music video "Borrowed Happiness" today. Watch Below. Stream HERE.

Produced by Ross Robinson (Korn, The Cure, Slipknot, Glassjaw, At The Drive In), Time To Burn is the full statement that previous singles - "Reasons," "Fake ID," and "Hot Pursuit / One And Nothing" have been pointing toward since XCOMM first broke cover in September 2025. In the months since, "Fake ID" surpassed 2.5 million views, the band opened for the Foo Fighters at a sold-out Kia Forum charity show, they earned a spot on the prestigious NME 100 of 2026, and built a following of nearly 80,000 Instagram followers in a matter of weeks.

Speaking on the making of Time To Burn, drummer Revel Ian shares:

The release arrives with XCOMM's live presence already in full swing. Fresh off opening for the Foo Fighters at a sold-out Kia Forum charity show in January and an appearance at the 3rd Anniversary Parking Lot Show at The Punk Rock Museum in Las Vegas alongside Spike and the Gimme Gimmes, Kate Clover, The Whops, and River Ratts, the band head to Pacific Electric in Los Angeles on April 11th for California Chaos Festival alongside Militarie Gun, Stateside, Grave Secrets, Blossom, Jawdropped and Star 99, before joining Warped Tour 2026 in Washington D.C. on June 13th and 14th and Long Beach, CA on July 25th and 26th.

Sneaker Pimps' Ian Pickering shares 'Commercial Road', previewing The Noise Who Runs' new 'RE: GEN X' album

UK alt-pop artist The Noise Who Runs presents 'Commercial Road', previewing the 'RE: GEN X' album, forthcoming via TNWR Records. A stark and confrontational snapshot of moral paralysis in an age that mistakes spectacle for substance, this song is set against the symbolic backdrop of a real street that becomes a metaphor for transaction, decay and quiet complicity. The song dissects a world where everything is for sale — bodies, truths, and even outrage itself.

The opening lines immediately establish a tone of uncomfortable intimacy, pulling the listener into scenes of exploitation and denial. Relationships are reframed as exchanges, identity as something eroded — whether through commodification (“trades promises for money”) or chemical numbness (“lithium disfigures what vanity implodes”). These are not just personal tragedies; they are symptoms of a broader cultural sickness, where the pursuit of profit renders the individual expendable, turning institutional failure into a practiced, daily routine.

The Noise Who Runs is songwriter, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Ian Pickering, known for his work with Sneaker Pimps and Front Line Assembly. Native to Hartlepool in the north-east of England, Pickering co-authored such Sneaker Pimps hits as 'Spin Spin Sugar', '6 Underground' and 'Tesko Suicide'. In 2019, he launched this project, three years after relocating to Lille, France.

“Commercial Road is not a protest song in the traditional sense, it does have a kind of pre-'Out of Time' R.E.M. thing about it, even a Dylanesque aspect but it doesn’t offer solutions or slogans. Instead, it holds up a mirror: cold, unsentimental, and accusatory. It asks what we tolerate, what we ignore, and what we quietly become as a result. In a culture addicted to noise, it’s maybe a reminder that the real danger isn’t the fire — it’s the absence of it where it counts,” says Ian Pickering.

Earlier, The Noise Who Runs shared the timely anti-war song 'The Bodies Are Under The Bus Again' and the lead track, 'Bang Bang'. Capturing the psychic exhaustion of life lived inside permanent crisis mode, this is a song about running on empty — physically, emotionally, politically — where outrage replaces thought and reaction substitutes for responsibility.

The Noise Who Runs' new offerings follow the 2024 EP ‘Come and Join the Beautiful Army’ and the 2023 debut album ‘Preteretrospective’, both released to rave reviews and airplay in more than 60 countries. As with those, the new record was mixed and mastered by Colin C at The Cell Studio.

'RE: GEN X' is both a reckoning and a reply — a response from within a generation that inherited progress, equality, and expanding liberty, but failed to defend them when they came under threat. Framed by the cultural optimism of late-1980s youth and the 1990s second summer of love, the album questions how a generation defined by scepticism, freedom, and possibility became comfortable with inaction as those gains were slowly dismantled and how scepticism hardened into detachment, irony replaced action, and silence came to feel like neutrality. Rather than nostalgia, it offers a critique of passivity: what happens when a generation knows better, but does nothing.

On RE: GENX, Pickering documents a civilization caught in a downward spiral of its own making. The album frames systemic greed, perpetual warfare, and the erosion of human dignity not as anomalies, but as the foundational mechanics of a world engineered for its own ruin. It serves as a cold assessment of a society fueled by the interests of the elite, leaving behind a singular, urgent uncertainty: whether a collective realization of this decay can actually dismantle the structures of power or if the momentum of destruction has become unstoppable.

On April 8, 'Commercial Road' is available from fine music platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp. On May 8, the "RE: GEN X" album will be released via TNWR Records.

Bodysnatcher Release New Single "Plague Of Flies" And Official Music Video via MNRK Heavy

South Florida deathcore mainstays Bodysnatcher have unleashed their latest rager "Plague Of Flies" and the official video (via MNRK Heavy). The track is taken from their soon-to-be-released new album 'Hell Is Here, Hell Is Home', out this Friday, April 10. 'Hell Is Here, Hell Is Home' will be the band's fourth full-length and newest body of work since 2024's 'Vile Conduct', and promises to be their most furious and bloodthirsty work yet. Leading up to today, the quartet has released "Blade Between The Teeth", "The Maker", and most recently, "Violent Obsession". Speaking about "Plague Of Flies", guitarist Kyle Carter commented:

"To me, "Plague of Flies" is about giving in to the negativity and pain that the world brings, and becoming numb to the point where you welcome it and even add to it. This is one of the more exaggerated topics of the album. I don’t live in this headspace constantly, but there are times when I just want to say “fuck it, everyone else is an asshole, so I should be too.”

LORD OF THE LOST show their emotional side and present the final video of the OPVS NOIR trilogy with the music video for their single "The Days Of Our Lives," unveiled today. With the release of OPVS NOIR Vol. 3 this Friday, April 10, the band concludes the album trilogy that began in the summer of 2025. "The Days Of Our Lives" is a soulful and seemingly hopeless ballad, situated somewhere between a soundtrack and cold electronica, and, as the closing track, serves as the curtain call for the entire work.
 
With nearly half a million listeners on Spotify, their appearance at the Eurovision final in 2023, followed by a number-one album and international tours with Iron Maiden, LORD OF THE LOST are proving themselves to be one of the most exciting and successful acts on the scene right now. OPVS NOIR Vol. 3 represents the creative peak of a band whose repertoire leaves no room for stagnation. On October 31, black metal history will be written in Oslo (NO). For one night only, three of Norway’s most influential and globally revered bands – Dimmu Borgir, Satyricon and Enslaved – will unite at Oslo Spektrum for a landmark event set to become the biggest black metal show ever staged on Norwegian soil. Few genres have had the global cultural impact of Norwegian black metal – and today, its dominance is undeniable. From headlining Europe’s premier festivals to selling out venues worldwide, Norwegian acts continue to define and push the genre forward. Robin Ross & The Melodynes Revive 60s Flower Power with New Single "All I Want (Is A Lover)"

Robin Ross & The Melodynes are back with their new single "All I Want (Is A Lover)", bringing the sun-drenched sounds of the 1960s back to the forefront.  Buoyant rhythms and warm acoustic textures carry a message of emotional openness, celebrating the kind of connection where love feels effortless and unrestrained. 

A masterclass in flower power pop with a modern soul, the track has already caught the attention of major television supervisors, landing a featured spot in the star-studded Apple TV+ and Peacock original series "Margo’s Got Money Troubles".  Starring Elle Fanning, Michelle Pfeiffer, Nick Offerman and Nicole Kidman, the series features the song during a pivotal scene in its second episode, airing April 15, 2026.

The single's classic wishful vibe complements the narrative of this show, which tells the story of a young mother navigating fame and financial struggle. The dropout daughter of a former Hooters waitress and an ex-pro wrestler, Margo is an aspiring writer faced with mounting debt and a new baby.

Recorded at Baa Baa Leaf Music Studio in Milford, Pennsylvania, this single was produced and mixed by Robin Ross, along with supervising engineer Jonathan Duckett (Phillip Glass, Kenny G, David Sanborn). 

Written and performed by Robin Ross (guitar, bass and percussion) and JoEllen Gaetani (vocals), this feel-good anthem blends vintage influence with a timeless sense of optimism, echoing the spirit of an era while speaking to the freedom of loving without limits. 

"I was recording a C-B-Am progression when a melody just flowed out, which I captured on a vocal scratch track. JoEllen and I later sat down to refine those initial takes, weaving my original phrasing into a cohesive story and writing new lines to perfectly fill the space," says Robin Ross.

"The song is about letting love live without the stigma often placed on those who don't 'match the norm.' Inspired by our own lives and the experience of being judged as a couple, this track is about moving past that and letting love flow like an atom in flight. It’s 'All I Want.'"

Emerging from the 80s New Jersey and New York music scenes, Robin Ross is now a central figure in the creative pulse of Milford, PA. A multi-faceted musician, songwriter, and producer for 30+ years, he has released numerous albums while launching and developing several recording spaces, including Triple R Studios and Sound Complex near NYC. He has since grown his current hub, Baa Baa Leaf Music Studio into a creative sanctuary and production house.

In the early ’90s, Robin Ross co-founded Laughing Jack (later Jack’s Maze), known for their progressive rock style. After a lengthy hiatus, 2021 marked a return to form, building his recording studio and reuniting with bandmates Frank Cinquegrana, Scott Cowan and Joe Torres to record new material, with a fresh Jack’s Maze release anticipated later this year. In 2025, he also released several records as Robin Ross & The TW Howlers and Robin Ross & The Bluesberry Jam.

NARNIA's upcoming album, 'X,' marks the bands 30th anniversary and nearly three decades of unwavernig presence on the international metal scene.

While their previous release ‘Ghost Town’ (2023) reaffirmed the band’s melodic metal foundation, ‘X’ expands NARNIA’s sonic landscape. The album moves confidently between soaring, arena-ready choruses and more adventurous, progressive passages, without ever losing the band’s unmistakable identity.

Songs like “Oceanwide,” “Every Breath,” and “Heaven’s Calling” showcase NARNIA’s gift for strong hooks and uplifting melodies. Multiple lead vocalists share the spotlight throughout the album. Guitarist CJ Grimmark and bassist Jonatan “Jono” Samuelsson step forward on selected tracks, adding new tonal colors, while Christian Liljegren’s unmistakable voice continues to anchor the sound.

The album also reconnects with the band’s legacy. “The Man from Nazareth Pt. II” serves as a continuation of a fan-favorite from the 2006 album ‘Enter the Gate,’ while “The War that Tore the Land (Reprise)” offers a reflective callback to 2019’s ‘From Darkness to Light.’

New Jersey's The Melancholy Kings channel film noir romance in dreamy ‘New Girl’ single

New Jersey indie rockers The Melancholy Kings present ‘New Girl’, an acoustic-driven ode to a film noir ingenue immortalized on celluloid. Blending the heart-on-sleeve vulnerability of The Replacements with the expansive, atmospheric depth of Pink Floyd, this is the fourth single from their second album 'Her Favorite Disguise'. Released via Magic Door Record Label, this record taps into the vicissitudes of life in the Big Apple and its step-sister across the Hudson, with their rich tapestry and follies.

Featuring Mike Potenza’s hushed vocals and delicate acoustic foundations, the track eschews traditional indie-rock tropes for a cinematic, slow-burn arrangement. Sparse drums by Paul Andrew and atmospheric textures from both Peter Horvath on electric guitar and Scott Selig bowing harmonics on upright bass create a soundscape that is enriched by cellist Carolyn Jeselsohn, whose elegant lines weave a sense of timelessness through the mix.

The accompanying video was created by Scott Selig, who manipulated footage to create a slowly shape-shifting abstraction of film noir ambiance. A bittersweet tribute with hypnotic allure, the narrator pines for a ghost from the Golden Age of cinema, capturing the strange intimacy of loving someone who exists only in black-and-white frames. The lyrics cleverly deconstruct the boundary between what is "real" and what is "reel", as Selig’s video reinforces this dreamlike state.

Earlier, the band released 'Bitcoin Elegy' on the decline of meaningful personal relationships in the digital age, jangly guitar rocker 'Victoria' and their quasi-psychedelic single 'UV', which features famed trumpeter Mac Gollehon (David Bowie, Al Jarreau, Duran Duran, Mick Jagger, Hall and Oates).

The Melancholy Kings' core is singer-guitarist Mike Potenza (The Anderson Council, Crash Harmony, BARD, Gramercy Arms) and bassist Scott Selig (Ambulance, Uncle Moon, Deni Bonet Band, Super Tuesday), who met amidst corporate life in Manhattan, learning they were both active in the '90s-'00s NYC indie scene, playing in various "almost-famous" bands, touring and opening for legendary artists. Committing themselves to music, the lineup solidified with drummer Paul Andrew (Fluffer, Phantom Tollbooth) and guitarist Peter Horvath (The Anderson Council).

Following their 2019 eponymous debut record, 'Her Favorite Disguise' is an unapologetic nod to the rough-hewn '80s pre-grunge alt-rock era. Produced, recorded, mixed and mastered by Ray Ketchem (Guided by Voices, Luna, Elk City, Gramercy Arms, Crash Harmony) at Magic Door Recording Studio in Montclair, NJ, this album also involves Elk City vocalist Reneé LoBue, vocalist Olivia Selig, Ketchem on percussion, and accordionist Carl Riehl (Michelle Shocked, Uncle Moon).

Freddy Jones Band Featured by NASA as “In a Daydream” Wakes Artemis II Crew

The Freddy Jones Band has reached a new milestone that quite literally extends beyond this world. NASA selected the band’s song “In a Daydream” as the official wake-up music for the Artemis II crew on Flight Day 3, marking a historic moment where the band’s music was broadcast to astronauts traveling toward the Moon.

 

According to NASA’s mission update, the crew was awakened with“In a Daydream”as they prepared for key mission operations, including trajectory correction maneuvers and continued lunar approach procedures. This tradition of playing music to start the astronauts’ day has long been a symbolic and motivational part of human spaceflight and now includes the Freddy Jones Band in its legacy.

 

“This is one of those moments you dream about as a musician, but never quite imagine happening,” said Marty Lloyd, lead vocals and guitar for the Freddy Jones Band. “The idea that our music is part of America’s journey to the Moon - literally soundtracking a moment in human history - is incredibly humbling. ‘In a Daydream’ has always been about escape, reflection, and possibility… and now it’s traveled farther than we ever could have imagined.”

 

Rich Ross, longtime member and bassist states that the song has always been historic for us and we know it’s one of the main reasons that people have come to see the band for over 30 years.  Marty Lloyd echoed the sentiment: “It’s surreal. You spend your life making music hoping it connects with people, and then one day you find out it’s being played in space. That’s unreal. We’re beyond grateful to NASA and the Artemis II crew, this is something we’ll carry with us forever.”

Florida rock band Gunshine released their third track, “Single Looks Good On You,”offering fans a taste of their forthcoming full-length album, Grand Rising, due out digitally on July 24 through vnclm_ /  Create Music Group. They unveiled the music video for the single. 

 

"Single Looks Good On You'' is a spring break party rocking song inspired by the gulf coast of Florida. An anthem to those recently single ready to let loose and have a good time. Since 2009, ARCHSPIRE has aimed to be one thing above all else: extreme. With their upcoming release, ‘TOO FAST TO DIE,’ they’ve once again raised the bar for what extreme music can be.

“We’re like a bit of meth in your cigarette,” says vocalist Oliver Rae Aleron, describing the band’s unhinged live show. “I think people don’t quite know how to describe what they’re hearing.”

In 2025, ARCHSPIRE announced their new drummer, Spencer Moore, marking a shift in the band’s trajectory. New blood brings new influences, and with the first single “Carrion Ladder,”they intended to show exactly how quickly he proved himself.

“I had to step my game up fast to pull off the new material,” Spencer explains. “But once we started tracking, everything felt comfortable and natural.”

 

Recorded in 2025, the album reunites the band with world-renowned producer Dave Otero(Cattle Decapitation, Khemmis) for the third time. They locked themselves inside his Denver studio for several months, cutting out distractions and dedicating themselves entirely to the record.

‘TOO FAST TO DIE’ follows the critically acclaimed Juno Award-winning ‘Bleed the Future,’ and marks the band’s first fully independent release. Early in the writing process, they chose to crowdfund the album, a strategy they’d used before, but nothing prepared them for the scale of what came next.

They raised nearly $400,000 CAD in 30 days, blowing past their goal in under 24 hours and confirming that independence was the right move.

“I was actually shaking when I pressed launch,” says guitarist Dean Lamb. “We’d never taken on something this big, and all I could think was, ‘man, I hope we don’t mess this up.’”

 

‘TOO FAST TO DIE’ is set for release on April 10, 2026, and represents a new chapter for ARCHSPIRE. Now fully independent and armed with a revitalized lineup, they’re intent on expanding their already rabid fanbase, pushing the boundaries of extreme metal, and having a great time doing it.
