CHEZ KANE Releases New Album 'Reckless' — Out Now via Frontiers Music Srl

CHEZ KANE is thrilled to release her new studio album, 'Reckless,' out now via Frontiers Music Srl. To celebrate the release, CHEZ also shares her new single, "Too Dangerous," alongside an official visualizer, available below.

CHEZ comments:

'Too Dangerous' lives in that space between warning signs and temptation - it captures the tension at the heart of 'Reckless,' where you know better, but it feels too good to resist.”

Talking about the record, CHEZ said:

“Finally, I can tell you! The official announcement of my third album, 'Reckless', is here! My last album, 'Powerzone,' dropped in 2022, and I’ve grown a lot since then. This time around, I got hands-on and collaborated on some writing. I pushed myself hard to make something that’s bigger, bolder, and yeah… sexy as hell.

“Massive thank you to Danny Rexon once again for being incredible to work with. Creating this with you was magic”, she added. “I can't wait for you guys to hear what we’ve made!”

Watch the Visualizer for “Too Dangerous" Below:

CHEZ KANE is back with her third studio album, 'Reckless' - an explosive blend of arena-ready hooks, slick guitar work, and unapologetic 80s-style swagger. Following the success of her first two records, CHEZ levels up with a collection that’s bigger in sound, richer in emotion, and packed with pure melodic firepower.

Once again, written and produced by Danny Rexon, frontman of Swedish hard rockers Crazy Lixx, 'Reckless' channels the golden age of melodic rock while injecting it with fresh energy and modern production.

The chemistry between CHEZ and Danny continues to shine, resulting in a record that blends 80s-inspired anthems, infectious hooks, and soaring vocals into a modern rock statement with attitude.

From glam-infused bangers to emotional slow-burners, 'Reckless' showcases CHEZ’s growing confidence and undeniable charisma, proving she’s not just riding the revival wave - she’s leading it.

If you’re craving fist-pumping choruses, soaring vocals, and a no-holds-barred throwback to the glory days of rock, look no further. CHEZ KANE’s 'Reckless' is melodic rock done right - bold, catchy, and undeniably alive.

Turn it up loud. This one’s recklessly unforgettable!

August Burns Red Announce "Season of Surrender" Out 6/5 + Share "The Nameless" Lyric Video

August Burns Red — Jake Luhrs (vocals); JB Brubaker (guitar); Brent Rambler (guitar); Dustin Davidson (bass); and Matt Grenier (drums) — need no introduction. For over two decades, the Lancaster, Pennsylvania-based act has been crafting its own unique brand of metalcore that has established ABR as one of the foremost acts in the genre. Their career milestones speak for themselves: Multiple placements in the top 10 on the Billboard Top 200; tours with everyone from Bullet For My Valentine to A Day To Remember; and an accumulation of 600 million streams.

However, the band — nominated for Best Metal Performance Grammys in 2016 for the song "Identity" and again for "Invisible Enemy" in 2018 — has never stopped pushing the limits of their sound.

And that fact has never been more prevalent than on their forthcoming new album SEASON OF SURRENDER, which will arrive on June 5 via Fearless Records, the label to which they recently returned. Pre-order it here.

ABR have also just shared the lyric video for new single "The Nameless." Watch and listen below.

“The Nameless" accomplishes more in under three minutes than most heavy bands do over the course of an entire album. The track boasts the band's signature complex rhythm section, alongside dark and moody guitars, with an unrelenting vocal assault. This song is ABR stripped down to the absolute core of their sound: Intricate, crushing, and ferocious.

"'The Nameless' is a hard-hitting, heavy bruiser that doesn't let up for one moment," states Davidson. "It combines classic ABR elements with dark moody technical rhythms, and fast paced vocals to keep the intensity up for the full three minutes of the track. To me it showcases our roots of where we've come from, and the future path of where we're heading."

Luhrs follows, "Lyrically, 'The Nameless' is a song about not wasting your life away for the sake of acceptance and comfortability. Sometimes it takes detaching from what you’ve been told, or from the beliefs you are no longer aligned with, in order to face your own weaknesses. In doing so you can break free to live a life you are proud of.”

Season of Surrender features guest appearances from The Devil Wears Prada's Mike Hranica, Polaris' Jamie Hails, and Make Them Suffer.

ABR will hit the road on a co-headline run with The Amity Affliction this Spring, kicking off on April 10 in Worcester. All dates for the Spring Horizons tour are below.

Black Metal Legends Winterfylleth Release Title Track + New Album "The Unyielding Season"

With the release of their ninth album, The Unyielding Season, out now via Napalm Records, UK's black metal legends WINTERFYLLETH unleash the title track as the third single. "The Unyielding Season" captures the overarching theme of the album: The song is a reflection of the current state of the world wrapped in raging, yet refined atmospheric black metal, guiding the way to a worthy follow up to 2024's celebrated predecessor The Imperious Horizon.

WINTERFYLLETH's ninth album is a social commentary wrapped in meticulously crafted poetry and prose. Where the preceding album described an ominous, malevolent force, lurking in the distance, The Unyielding Season now explores said threat becoming a reality.

Chris Naughton on "The Unyielding Season":
"'The Unyielding Season' – the song that puts music and emotion to the album concept as a whole. A beautiful, haunting and reflective track that tries to capture the weight and gravity of the current social circumstances we are living through in the world. It shares its concept with that of the wider album, and essentially tries to be a voice of the people against the tide of pressures in the world."

Watch the visualizer video for "The Unyielding Season" BELOW !

WINTERFYLLETH about the new album:
"2026 marks a year of big changes for WINTERFYLLETH! A new label, a new member, a new album, and the landmark of 20 years making music together. We are enthused by what this new chapter will bring, and as a result, we are now able to share our ninth album, The Unyielding Season, with the world. It is also a powerful and virulent first output, through which we seal our new collaboration with Napalm Records.

In many ways, the new album is a reflection on — and a rebellion against — the turmoil's and fears that are tearing the lives of many individuals apart. It is a cry against the unsustainable & constant weight of malevolence and pressure being pushed into the world by agents of an un-resting and unyielding force for evil. We hope the album resonates with you, stirs your soul, and gives you a source for hope. But, we also hope it makes you ask questions of your own circumstances and gives you pause to consider the unnerving state of the world we all share."

Future Palace Drop "Supernova" Video

Germany's FUTURE PALACE are thrilled to share the video for their dynamically different new single "SUPERNOVA." Watch it below.

Once again, the band proves that post-hardcore is not a label with limits but a space full of creative possibilities with this track. The band took some sonic chances and the result is nothing short of stunning.

"Musically, 'Supernova' was an experiment," explains guitarist Manuel Kohlert. "Writing the track started with an angelic voice sample that was heavily glitched with a program. The upbeat feeling and intensity breaks unusually, not into a heavy part but into an acoustic guitar bridge with sing-along type vocals. The outro features a groovy breakdown that closes the track with lots of energy. Compared to other Future Palace tracks, this one feels unusual at first, yet there still is a catchy chorus as most of the times."

Singer Maria Lessing concurs, saying, "'Supernova' is a really special and different song for us. Already, the instrumental had a very experimental energy when I listened to it for the first time, and I decided to lean even more into this energy while writing the vocals."

Pulling back the curtain on the powerful and relatable subject matter, Lessing continues, "Lyrically, the song talks about humans that act so heartless that they lose their human form and turn into a 'homunculus.' The world is currently in a very brutal state and it's hard to find hope in humanity a lot of times. It's hard to understand how so much anger and lack of empathy can be inside someone. The song is supposed to convey this really unsettling feeling and unhuman energy. Also the struggle of finding hope and being scared of losing that last spark of it."

Future Palace, whose lineup is rounded out by drummer Johannes Früchtenicht, embody the emotional highs and lows of human life through a constantly shifting artistic lens. Their songs delve deep into internal struggles and shed light on issues surrounding mental health, topics that remain far too stigmatized in modern society. Over the past years, Future Palace have become one of Europe's most exciting alternative metal acts, propelled by their intense live energy and a constantly growing international fanbase. Their recent North American tour marked their first major venture across the Atlantic, earning widespread praise and further expanding their global reach. In Europe, their latest headline tour set new milestones with numerous sold-out and upgraded shows across the continent. With a rapidly growing catalogue, rising streaming numbers, and a global fan community, Future Palace are entering their most ambitious era yet.

Future Palace will spend the bulk of 2026 touring, with festival appearances and a fall tour on deck. All dates are below, including a return to the U.S. to appear at the Louder Than Life Festival in Louisville in September.

FUTURE PALACE ARE:
Maria Lessing — Vocals
Manuel Kohlert — Guitar

BRANTLEY GILBERT HEATS UP COUNTRY RADIO WITH “GOOD DAMN”

Multi-Platinum trailblazer Brantley Gilbert returns to Country radio with “GOOD DAMN,” his first single with BBR Music Group/BMG Nashville on Wheelhouse Records. A simmering throwback that nods to the swagger and storytelling of his early days, the track finds Gilbert leaning into the style that first defined his sound. Following an exclusive world premiere yesterday on Country radio, “GOOD DAMN” is now available on all streaming platforms. Listen to “GOOD DAMN” Below.

Written by Gilbert alongside Brock Berryhill, HARDY and Taylor Phillips, and produced by Gilbert and Berryhill, “GOOD DAMN” is inspired by the real-life twists in his love story with his wife of 11 years and captures the tension of running into the one who got away and realizing the spark never disappeared.

“This song hits close to home for me,” shares Gilbert. “It’s about a second chance and being honest in the moment. You see someone you’ve got a past with and realize there’s still something there. Instead of overthinking it, you shoot your shot.”

“GOOD DAMN” offers a first look at what’s to come as he works on his highly anticipated eighth studio album. With a career built on chart-topping hits and deeply personal storytelling, Gilbert continues to evolve while staying rooted in the honesty and grit that has defined his music from the start.

The Georgia native is set to embark on festival dates this spring and summer, with additional tour dates through the fall to be announced. For more information, visit BrantleyGilbert.com.

ALISON NICHOLS HAS “BOX WINE PROBLEMS” BUT HAVING A GOOD TIME AIN’T ONE – OUT NOW

Alison Nichols releases her first original song through BBR Music Group/BMG Nashville with “Box Wine Problems,” a release that skips the explanations and gets straight to the good part. Written by Nichols alongside Sherrie Austin and Will Rambeaux and produced by Rambeaux and Ilya Toshinskiy, the song moves with loose rules, open pours, and a total lack of concern for how things are supposed to go. It does not ask permission and it does not clean up the mess. It just expects you to keep up the good times among the inebriated havoc. Listen HERE.

From the opening chorus, “Box Wine Problems” makes one thing clear. Everything might be going wrong, but nobody is leaving. The wine is cheap, the cups are plastic, someone is crying, someone is lying, someone is fully passed out, and somehow this is still the night you would not trade for anything. Nichols sings it straight, letting the chaos speak for itself and leaning into the idea that fun does not require order, answers, or a plan.

“This song is about letting go of the idea that the night has to make sense,” says Nichols. “You stop trying to fix it, stop trying to control it, and just let it be what it is. That is usually when it gets really good.”

Watch the official "Box Wine Problems" music video below:

Sonically, the track mirrors that energy. It opens with a stripped-down chorus and no percussion, creating a raw, unfiltered entry before the rhythm kicks in. Classic Southern slide guitar runs through the track, adding grit and movement, and the song closes with a full-room sing-along featuring friends in the studio, capturing the sound of a night that has grown louder, looser, and more crowded as it goes.

The moment behind the song is just as fitting. Nichols wrote “Box Wine Problems” the day she officially signed her record deal, turning a celebration with Austin and Rambeaux into a spontaneous writing session that matched the mood of the occasion.

Following the response to her release of “John Deere Green,” Nichols moves further into her own lane with “Box Wine Problems.” It introduces an artist who understands that sometimes the best nights are not the ones you plan, but the ones you stop overthinking and stay for anyway.

KEEP UP WITH ALISON NICHOLS

Post-punk legends Jah Wobble & Jon Klein release ‘Automated Paradise' album

Jah Wobble (Public Image Ltd) and guitarist Jon Klein (Siouxsie & The Banshees, Specimen) have released their 'Automated Paradise' album, their third collaborative record and also their debut album as a duo with Peckham-based label Dimple Discs. These two legends first combined forces on the 'Metal Box – Rebuilt In Dub' album in 2021, they continue to collaborate live and in the studio.

This is Jah Wobble’s first post-punk album in recent years, these brash guitar-driven tracks reflecting his preoccupation with the declining state of the nation. Driven by his weekly experience with Klein at the "Tuned In" music community project in Merton, this record recalls the spirit of Mark Stewart - angry in an empathetic, constructive way. The lyrical content mainly came together in the studio.

"Making this record with Jon Klein was (as ever) an absolute buzz. Totally in the moment. The music comes from that silent place. It’s pre-existing. You just allow it to flow. Sometimes you organise it early in  the process, sometimes you let it flow, with minimum direction," says Jah Wobble.

"Sometimes you conceptualise it from the get go (chord structures, set pre-ordained rhythms, bossa-nova, waltz, one drop, etc.  Sometimes it’s the opposite of that (see under Can, Metal Box etc. Sometimes you refer to memory sometimes you are “in the moment”. This was one of those in the moment records, that got quickly recognised for what it was and was duly processed."

Dimple Discs earlier shared the motorik lead track ‘Fading Away’, pulsating with the raw electrical tension of British post-punk and new wave, and the fire-buster 'Who Wins?', a song about distrust — about the growing sense that the grand halls of power have become echo chambers of empty promises. Both songs capture moments when the atmosphere shifts in humanity's current trajectory.

"This album started to take shape with the more angular noises pieces, but then stepped away into different places occasionally almost ambient. The sketches I presented for some tracks were turned upside down once Jah got hold of them. He tried different ideas for lyrics at different stages of each song's evolution, sometimes improvising themes and tunes that we’d edit and organise, and other times composing final ideas prior to recording," explains Jon Klein.

"That age old tradition of waiting around in studios, whilst the engineer boffin endlessly twiddles knobs whilst speaking in numerical tongues is something we are keen avoid. We like to make things happen in the moment, in a way that attendees can follow. Often we complete a working draft to a piece of music from scratch in a few hours".

This album follows two 2025 albums for Wobble -  ‘Dub Volume 1' (Dimple Discs) and the expanded reissue of the 2017 album 'The Usual Suspects', featuring 25 career highlights, re-recorded and including some of Wobble’s finest material, alongside tracks by Invaders Of The Heart and PiL.

Guitarist and producer Jon Klein was a member of Siouxsie and the Banshees from 1987 until 1994 (the 'Peepshow', 'Superstition' and 'The Rapture' era). Originally in the Bristol band Europeans, he then formed the glam-goth act Specimen and relocated to London, where he co-founded The Batcave nightclub. He has worked with Talvin Singh and Sinéad O'Connor, and co-produced a string of No. 1 albums for Warner-signed Fangoria, fueling a decade-long streak of chart-topping success in Spain.

'Automatic Paradise' is out now via Bandcamp, and available on both CD and transparent vinyl, with this pressing limited to 800 copies.  Jah Wobble & The Invaders Of The Heart continue touring the UK in 2026, and tickets can be ordered at https://jahwobble.com/#live

HELLRIPPER Launches Raucous New Anthem, "Blakk Satanik Fvkkstorm," New Album 'Coronach' Out TODAY

Scotland's ibex-obsessed blackened thrash bastard of Hades, otherwise known as HELLRIPPER, is pleased to finally release his latest offering, 'Coronach,' today via Century Media Records! In celebration, HELLRIPPER is now sharing a lyric video for the raucous anthem, "Blakk Satanik Fvkkstorm." The video was created by Cloud Motion Design and can be found below.

HELLRIPPER mastermind James McBain says of the album, “‘Coronach’ is a personal exploration of Scottish Culture — its music, literature, history & folklore. The album is the culmination of 3 years of hard work, and is a project that totally consumed me. From Pictish mysteries to Victorian Gothic literature, sinister lore, classic Scottish poetry and modern urban tales, the album tells stories of the country throughout the ages.

"Inspired by anything and everything from Venom and Mercyful Fate, to Watain and Opeth, to Manic Street Preachers, film scores and traditional Scottish music, the album is a good representation of myself all wrapped up in a nice speed metal package!

"Quite a bit of experimentation went into this album, and I wanted each track to contain something that I had never done previously. Whether it be the inclusion of a different instrument, or how a song begins, I aimed to offer some element of surprise in each track.

:The album, named after the vocal lament traditionally sung at funerals in the Scottish Highlands, encompasses everything the band is about: mixing modern and old-school influences, past and present storytelling, the dark side of Scottish history and my personal interpretation of it.

"As always, the writing and recording took place in my home studio, with various other people putting their stamp on a few of the tracks. The album was mixed by myself, and was mastered by Damian Herring at Subterranean Watchtower Studios and the artwork was done by Adam Burke (Nightjar Illustration).

"Fàilte gu Alba - Welcome to Scotland!"

In regards to the new single, McBain adds "'Blakk Satanik Fvkkstorm' is “a tale of witchcraft and possession set in a bleak moorland village inspired by Victorian Gothic Literature - particularly the ghost story of 'Thrawn Janet' by Scottish author Robert Louis Stevenson. Lyrically, to match the vibe and energy of the track, I wanted my interpretation of the tale to feel like an 80's horror film. This is perhaps the most "full-on" track on the album, and that's reflected in its shorter length. It's motor-charged, black 'n' roll in the vein of Venom, with a dose of classic heavy metal for good measure!”.

'Coronach' has been released worldwide on March 27, 2026 via Century Media Records, making it his debut to the label! 'Coronach' can be streamed, downloaded, or ordered HERE.

In addition, Hellripper will soon embark on European headline tour alongside Schizophrenia and Sarcator to promote 'Coronach.' He will also appear on a number of festivals this year and has also announced a string of support shows for thrash metal legend Testament in Spain and France. The full itinerary can be found below while tickets can be found HERE.

Enter the GOAT KVLT HERE.

The brainchild of guitarist/vocalist/solitary force, James McBain, Hellripper has been running like a denim-vested, backpatch-encrusted William Wallace, bravehearting his way through metal's bloodiest battlefields since first coagulating his personal darkness in 2014. Taking armaments from “Kill 'Em All” era Hetfield and “Welcome to Hell” era Mantas, McBain has immersed his fascination with darkness and speed with Scottish history and come with bloody masterpieces like 2023's “Warlocks Grim & Withered Hags” that Metal Injection stated: "Bursts with growth and a mature exploration of darkness and eeriness while maintaining that original high-octane burning”. McBain is presently sharpening his blades and casting new spells that will transmogrify into Hellripper's Century Media debut “Coronach”.

Introducing End Eve + Artist Shares "Empty Promises" Video

END EVE is a Miami-born artist of Colombian and Italian heritage, raised between Miami and Colombia. She started performing at a young age through musical theatre and ballet, influenced by her grandmother, who often played opera and classical music at home. Music was always a constant in her life and became something she naturally gravitated toward.

Today, she shares the video for her dreamily gothic and darkwave-like new single "EMPTY PROMISES."

Watch it below.

"'Empty Promises' was born from that push and pull space where desire and detachment blur together," the artist says. "It tells the story of someone who learned to leave before being left, turning heartbreak into a kind of armor, and love into a game she controls. There is power in it, but also a quiet hint of longing beneath the surface, like she is still waiting for someone to finally prove her wrong."

Regarding the accompanying music video, END EVE says, "It is meant to feel hypnotic. The flashing red lights, moody atmosphere, and shiny details create a looping energy that mirrors the push and pull of the song, capturing that moment when promises start to lose their meaning but you still find yourself pulled back into the same cycle."

END EVE grew up listening to heavier bands like Korn, Marilyn Manson, and Linkin Park, while also loving pop artists like Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera. That mix of influences helped shape her sound and the kind of artist she wanted to become. She later worked in Mexico City as a musical theatre actress before moving to Los Angeles to study music and begin her solo project, END EVE. Over time, she started developing a style that brings together strong pop melodies with the heavier elements of metal and alternative. Her project is built around combining the structure and catchiness of pop with the weight and edge of heavier music. END EVE focuses on creating songs that feel direct, personal, and driven by both sides of her musical background.

END EVE is newly signed to Roux & Ruin Records.

Hardcore Torchbearers Pro-Pain Drop Second Single + Video "March Of The Giants"

Hardcore torchbearers PRO-PAIN share "March Of The Giants," the second single off their long-awaited album Stone Cold Anger, out May 15 via Napalm Records. With their first album in 11 years, the New York legends — rising alongside Madball, Agnostic Front, and Sick Of It All — prove that they stayed on top of their heavy game throughout the years. "March Of The Giants" is David vs. Goliath—the pursuit of triumph over fear. With it, PRO-PAIN capture a story present throughout history: The oppressed versus the oppressors, a plutocratic class keeping a tight grip on everyone else. With added elements of oligarchy and technocracy, the scale of what the ordinary person is up against becomes even clearer. The impressive "March Of The Giants" shows PRO-PAIN continuously stoking up the fires in politically dark times, kicking down doors 35 years into their career.

The video for the new song was filmed in Belgium—specifically in Mons and Charleroi—and directed by Ludo Colapietro for COLAFILMSTUDIOS.

Watch the Official Music Video for "March Of The Giants" BELOW:

Gary Meskil about "March Of The Giants":
"The second single from our upcoming album, Stone Cold Anger, is 'March Of The Giants' — a song about standing tall and moving forward together to challenge oppressive forces and create real change. It was the first track completed for the new album, written with assistance from Eric Klinger and our former guitarist, Matt Sheridan."

Rhythm guitarist Eric Klinger adds:
"We are thrilled that our previous single was so well received, and we hope you equally enjoy this one. Thank you all for the overwhelming support!"

Legendary New York hardcore juggernauts PRO-PAIN make their debut on Napalm Records with their 16th studio album, Stone Cold Anger, out on May 15. Their first release in 11 years showcases the band's explosive energy in its purest form: Stone Cold Anger unfolds heavy, angry, and ready as ever—proving PRO-PAIN haven't lost even an ounce of strength. An exceptionally catchy offering, the new album fortifies its groovy melodies and stirring guitar riffs with furious and inciting, anthemic vocals, turning the ten new songs into worthy follow-ups to their 3.5mm stream hit "Voice of Rebellion" (2015).

Stone Cold Anger is an enthralling, memorable, and triumphant milestone for PRO-PAIN, and an impressive demonstration of power. See you in the pit!

Gary Meskil about Stone Cold Anger:
"Thank you to our fans worldwide for 35 years of unwavering support. After a decade away from the recording studio, we return with Stone Cold Anger — an album forged from global tension and the rising demand for accountability."

Order your copy of Stone Cold Anger NOW.

The highly-anticipated new album (which features the return of former guitarist Eric Klinger) opens up with the punishing "Oceans Of Blood," an energetic and captivating track which confirms once again that the hardcore icons have not lost one bit of their relentless anger in the last 35 years. The title track abruptly commences with soaring melodic guitars acting as sirens around front man and bassist Gary Meskil's commanding barks. Aptly named "March Of The Giants" is just that, a show of brute force layered upon an ever-so-heavy groove-laden foundation. "Uncle Sam Wants You!" displays a more rock 'n' roll attitude, complete with a driving bass line and distinct social commentary; the raw and honest vibe continues throughout "Demonic Intervention" and "Rinse & Repeat."  Meskil's raspy shouts fill the melodies of "Hell Or High Water" before PRO-PAIN forge onward and into the anthemic "Scorched Earth" — fiercely belting "And so it begins…" The following track, "Jonestown Punch," galvanizes with stirring, up-tempo two-steps before "Sky's The Limit" rounds off the album with catchy sing-along choruses.

Varg Unleash New Live Single "Morgenrot" + Video Ahead Of New Album "Live at Wolfszeit Festival 2024"

VARG invite their fans to another ritual with the second single off of their upcoming live album, Live at Wolfszeit Festival 2024, out May 22 via Napalm Records. With "Morgenrot," the pagan metal band presents a duet between growler Freki and singer Fylgja, showcasing their ability to skillfully blend brutal sounds with epic melodies. During the show at their very own festival, which the album captures, the song (originally released in 2023 on Ewige Wacht) naturally shone in awe-inspiring red — as seen in the rousing video for the single.

VARG about "Morgenrot":
"'Morgenrot' tells the story of the moment after a great battle — when the smoke clears and the first rays of the rising sun fall on the battle field. In our imagination, the Valkyries then ride across the skies and lead the bravest warriors to Valhalla. This mix of dignity, myth, and epic grandeur make this song special for us — and live at Wolfszeit Festival, this atmosphere unfolded perfectly."

Watch the Official Live Video for "Morgenrot" Below:

VARG gather their followers around them and call for a joint ritual: On May 22, 2026, the pagan metal band will share the recording of a special evening with their first live album, Live at Wolfszeit Festival 2024. Recorded at the group's very own festival, it contains thrilling live versions of 16 tracks. VARG on Live at Wolfszeit Festival 2024:

DIMMU BORGIR - Announce New Album 'Grand Serpent Rising' + Watch The Video For Single 'Ulvgjeld & Blodsodel'

Eight years after the release of their critically acclaimed album Eonian, Norwegian symphonic black metal titans DIMMU BORGIR return with a towering new opus: Grand Serpent Rising. Set for release on May 22 via Nuclear Blast Records, the album delivers thirteen punishing yet remarkably diverse tracks that reaffirm the band’s status as one of the most formidable forces in extreme music.

Shagrath comments: “I truly feel we’ve outdone ourselves musically on this album. It’s been a long and demanding process, but seeing how it all came together makes it incredibly rewarding. Grand Serpent Rising reflects every era of Dimmu Borgir - This album carries echoes of every chapter of Dimmu Borgir’s legacy - I believe our fans will recognize that, and find something within it that truly resonates.”

Even the sheer weight of the album title speaks volumes.

"It fits perfectly," guitarist Silenoz explains. “Dimmu Borgir is a leviathan of a band on a grand scale and we are rising once again. While the serpent represents evil to some, for us it symbolizes something else: renewal, growth, knowledge, and liberation. Shedding our skin, so to speak. And let’s not forget that February 2026 marks the end of the Year of the Snake, roughly the same moment this album was completed.”

Grand Serpent Rising was recorded in Gothenburg with acclaimed producer Fredrik Nordström, whose legacy with the band includes landmark releases Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia and Death Cult Armageddon. The collaboration once again captures the band at their most expansive and ferocious, blending orchestral grandeur with unrelenting black metal intensity.

Alongside the album announcement, the band unveils a cinematic video for the track 'Ulvgjeld & Blodsodel'. Sung in Norwegian, the song stands as a punishing epic rooted in themes of heritage and bloodline - the passing of something essential from one generation to the next.

Unverkalt Release “Oath Ov Prometheus” Live Studio Performance

Over the past decade, Unverkalt have drawn closer and closer to the edge. On their new album, the post-metal luminaries pull the veil from our cursed existence in search for an answer to one pervasive questions: What do we carry that was never ours? In response, Héréditaire now stands as their heaviest and most heartfelt offering.

As they prepare to bring Héréditaire to the stage, today, Unverkalt are releasing a live studio performance of the song that sparked their freshly blackened vision. “Oath Ov Prometheus” sets fire to the myth of man’s creation with the band’s command of smoky atmosphere and suffocating doom.

“‘Oath Ov Prometheus” is one of the songs on our new album that we really love to perform”, Unverkalt vocalist Dimitra Kalavrezou says. “It was the first song we wrote for Héréditaire and our first with extreme vocals. We are very excited to bring it to the stage this year during our upcoming shows”.

Watch the live studio performance of “Oath Ov Promethues” Below:

Héréditaire is out now on Season of Mist.

Order & Stream

https://orcd.co/unverkalthereditaire

While Héréditaire is a pulse-pounding new direction for Unverkalt, the album’s arc traces back to our deepest and darkest origins. Amidst the tremolo-picked wreckage of “Penumbrian Lament”, long-held beliefs are swallowed into the void of guitarist Eli Mavrychev’s death growls. “It’s all sorts of dead ideas / They cling to us all the same”, Kalavrezou whispers, only to break into screams on “Introjects” beneath Joscha Hoyer’s throbbing bass line. “The concept behind the record is tied in with the album’s overall heaviness”, she says. “Each song peels back another blackened layer of memory, trauma and suffering, which linger over us like ghosts: invisible, yet endlessly present”.

Kalavrezou’s mystifying cleans remain one of Unverkalt’s defining traits. Even when trembling beneath the monolithic riff of “I, The Deceit”, her contempt for those who stand by as the world burns is heated when forged alongside her Athenian brother-in-arms Sakis Tolis from Rotting Christ. But as the album draws to a close, Héréditaire ends shadowed in doubt for the future. “Bathed in lies / Can we make it better” she wonders before disappearing into the shivering wake left by “Maladie de ‘Esprit”.

“This album is not meant to resolve”, the band says, “but to dissolve patterns from those who came before, faceless yet familiar. The colors have drained. What remains is veiled in black, not as a symbol, but as a truth that covers everything”.

On Héréditaire, Unverkalt lift the veil on our cursed existence with their heaviest and most heartfelt offering.

GLU Michael Shuman (Queens of the Stone Age, Mini Mansions) Unveils Infectious New Single "Pony Boy"

Today, GLU, the genre-blending solo project of Michael Shuman (Queens of the Stone Age, Mini Mansions), returns with an infectious, hook-laden new single, “Pony Boy.” This release marks the next instalment of a year of exciting activity, released on FLG (Skunk Anansie,Corella, As It Is).

The new track blends punchy riffs with infectious, synth-leaning melodies, striking a balance that has made GLU’s sound so synonymous. Beneath its melodic surface is a story of being thrust prematurely into the spotlight, as a once carefree life gives way to pressure, scrutiny, and a growing need for distance.

“I am a pretty private person”, Shuman explains. “This song discusses the ways in which that privacy has been attempted to be broken and infiltrated. Living in Los Angeles and growing up here has made it somewhat difficult to navigate them. Especially being in this business, people want to know everything about you. Where you went last night, what you had for breakfast, who you’re dating. I think it’s really important to keep some sort of anonymity. I’m not a big fan of putting myself out there on social media, yet I know that it’s part of the modern music business promotion. I’ve seen this with other people in my life, and it can quickly steal away a piece of your identity.”

Watch the Video for "Pony Boy" Below:

GLU first emerged in early 2023 with debut EP 'MY DEMONS,' a raw and revealing release exploring struggle, loss, addiction, and childhood trauma. In 2025, GLU hit a new high point with the single "BOOGIE MAN," an infectious, dance-forward track about losing yourself in the moment and letting go of self-consciousness. Drawing comparisons to Jamiroquai, Gorillaz, and Mac Miller, the song secured a major sync placement in MLB The Show ‘25 alongside Kendrick LamarDe La Soul. The track pushed GLU past 3 million global streams.

That momentum has also translated directly to the stage, with tours and headline dates across the UK, Europe, and the US. GLU has toured with The Kills, Blood Red Shoes, Miles Kane& more, alongside UK headline shows of its own. Kicking off tonight in Glasgow, GLU will support The Blue Stones across three big UK shows (see dates below).

Radio support from BBC Radio 1 and 6 Music, as well as glowing press from the likes of the NME, Rolling Stone & more, has further established GLU as a project operating well beyond “side project” territory.

With its fearless approach to reinvention and emotional honesty, GLU’s take on "Crush" signals the start of a year of exciting activity, whilst blurring genres, stripping away pretence, and creating music that feels both personal and relatable.

Introducing Torn Open — NJ Extreme Deathcore Band Signs Announces EP, Shares "The Way Things Should End" Video

New Jersey's Torn Open will make the baby fine hairs on your neck stand upright. They hold nothing back in their brutal, deathcore music or their sanguine imagery. Solidifying their lineup in 2025, the quintet has shared stages with legends like Mortician, as well as Torture and more. They released TORN THE FUCK OPEN, VOL. 1. in 2025 and followed with the single "None So Vile."

Along the way, the band caught the attention of Blue Grape Music, which is pleased to announce it has added the band to its global roster.

Torn Open will continue to tear into the metal scene with full ferocity and fangs bared moving forward.

Today, the band announces the TORN THE FUCK OPEN, VOL. 2 EP, which will arrive on May 1. Pre-save it here.

Torn Open also shared the gloriously gory (and NSFW) video for the primal new single "The Way Things Should End." Watch the video, which unfolds like a fabulously feral, four-minute horror movie, below

It's vicious and visceral, grabs you by the throat, and doesn't let go. You won't make it out unscathed.

"The Way Things Should End" is intended to be a hard-hitting introduction to a new era, and not just musically. The single checks all the boxes — creative riffing, a groove that makes you want to punch the guy next to you, and meaningful lyrics that address about how political power needs to be directly combatted with violence. Working in tandem with the imagery from the music video, the song creates an astoundingly strong statement, calling out and denouncing the malice inflicted upon many as a product of greed. It aims to point out that there are little to no distinguishing factors between businessmen and politicians anymore, and we are running out of peaceful options when it comes to stopping tyranny.

Below are the forthcoming Torn Open live dates. The band will also perform at the Milwaukee Metal Fest Pre-Party, sponsored by Blue Grape, on June 4.

Skid Row's Rachel Bolan Announces Solo Debut As "Bolan" | First Single + Video "At War With Myself" Out Today

After four decades as the driving force behind Skid Row, bassist and songwriter Rachel Bolan steps forward with his first-ever solo album under the name BOLAN. Gargoyle of the Garden State is a bold, deeply personal debut rooted in the grit, attitude, and storytelling spirit of his New Jersey upbringing.

Produced by multi‑Grammy winner Nick Raskulinecz (Foo Fighters, Skid Row, Rush, Evanescence, Alice In Chains), the album began as a simple conversation between friends. What started casually quickly evolved into a record that would ultimately define Bolan's voice as both a songwriter and storyteller.

"Gargoyle of the Garden State is not a project, it is every bit of my soul," says Bolan. "Like me, it knows when to be serious and also knows where the party is."

PRE-ORDER THE ALBUM HERE.

Musically, the album delivers hook-driven, anthemic songs that fuse punk energy with melodic sensibility, wrapped in swagger and raw edge what early listeners have already called "quintessentially New Jersey." Among its standout moments is a surprising cover of Oasis' "Rock And Roll Star," reimagined through Bolan's distinctive lens.

Expanding beyond his role as a bassist, Bolan performs the majority of instruments, shaping the record from the ground up. Drawing on influences from Brit Pop and glam to punk rock and new wave, the album represents a lifetime in music.

Gargoyle of the Garden State also features an impressive lineup of guests, including Corey Taylor, Danko Jones, Nuno Bettencourt, Damon Johnson,Steve Conte, and fellow Skid Row members Scotti Hill, Dave "Snake" Sabo, and Rob Hammersmith.

"It was incredible to work with so many of my talented friends an experience I wish everyone could have at least once," Bolan adds.

The album is out on June 12 and will be available as CD digipakLP gatefold, as well as digital and download

At its core, Gargoyle of the Garden State is Bolan at his most honest, a record full of attitude, melody, and personality unmistakably his own.

Exploring Birdsong Announce Debut Album "Every House We Built" + Share "You Like It Best When It Hurts" Video

London alt-pop outfit Exploring Birdsong have today announced their forthcoming debut album, Every House We Built, set for release on June 26 via Long Branch Records

Featuring previously released tracks "42" and "Romanticise," the record sees the band turn inwards, drawing from lived experiences to explore the complexities of relationships spanning friendships, family and romance. Using houses as a central metaphor, the album reflects on how connections are carefully built with intention yet can unexpectedly collapse, leaving behind the lingering weight of something once thought permanent.

The announcement is accompanied by the release of the band's new single "You Like It Best When It Hurts."

Speaking of the track, vocalist Lynsey Ward shares, "'You Like It Best… ' actually began its life as a completely different song, but easily found a way to take the shape that it has now. For as long as we've been a band, we've been proud that our sound has such broad shoulders, so we felt we could really push our influences from heavy music out into the open with this one and create the heaviest Birdsong music to date. Lyrically, it is written about observing a type of person that we have all come across — self-sabotaging and self-destructive almost to the point where it seems that they can't, or don't want to, break the cycle. More new territory for us, as we're now equipped to convey anger and aggression convincingly. It felt completely natural to write a bit of a love letter to heavy music whilst channeling our own frustrations."

Stream "You Like It Best When It Hurts" and pre-order the debut album here.

Watch the official music video above.

Exploring Birdsong have evolved into one of the UK's most compelling and unclassifiable modern bands. Following a bold shift in sound first signalled by their 2024 singles, the three piece have expanded their sonic palette without sacrificing the emotional intimacy and genre blurring beauty that defines them.

Fronted by the unmistakable voice of Lynsey Ward, alongside Jonny Knight(Bass) and Matt Harrison (Drums), the band craft a sound that weaves vulnerability, heaviness, and intricate songwriting into something entirely their own. Their approach to modern heavy music feels both cinematic and deeply personal, balancing raw feeling with experimental ambition, with subtle touchstones in artists such as Kate Bush.

This emotional core has been matched by growing momentum. By 2025 the band had sold out back-to-back headline shows at London's St Pancras Old Church within minutes, building on previous sold out dates in Manchester and London. Having shared stages with Katatonia and Sleep Token alongside appearances at RADAR Festival and Euroblast, Exploring Birdsong continue to carve out a space that feels entirely their own, unplaceable yet unmistakable.

Lynsey Ward — Vocals + Piano
Jonny Knight — Bass + Synthesizers
Matt Harrison — Drums + Percussion

REVEAL 'ALL GLORY, NO VALOUR' LIVE VIDEO AHEAD OF NORTH AMERICAN TOUR DATES

British metal powerhouse SYLOSIS are preparing to take their monumentally heavy, riff-fuelled live show across the Northern Hemisphere.

Next week, the band will be launching head-first into a collosal month-long trek across North America alongside Bleed From Within, Great American Ghost and Life Cycles.

To set the stage, SYLOSIS have released a break-neck live video for their track 'All Glory, No Valour', filmed during their career-defining performance last month at The Forum, London, a highlight of their biggest headline tour to-date.

SYLOSIS commented:

"All Glory, No Valour is a collective favourite from The New Flesh. Since the early demos, the song always stood out as one of the most aggressive that the band has ever put together. Instead of a standard video, we agreed that releasing a live version of it at some point would be best so listeners could really connect with the energy of the track. Filmed at our biggest headline show to date at London's O2 Forum in Kentish Town, this video really captures the essence of our live performance. Catch us live across North America over the next couple of months with Bleed From Within and across UK & Europe early next year with Whitechapel. We'll see you soon."

Last month, Sylosis released their career-defining record The New Flesh. The album is a towering testament to destructive riffing, incisive melody and refined brute force. The band’s seventh full-length offering is a powerful showcase for the state of Sylosis in 2026: lethal, uncompromising, and avowedly metal as all hell.

Order album The New Fleshhttps://sylosis.bfan.link/the-new-flesh

When the going gets tough, metal gets heavier. SYLOSIS have always been devoted to the fine art of breaking necks, but in recent times, the urgency of their mission has grown exponentially. Still surfing on a wave of acclaim and the effusive fan response to their last album, 2023’s A Sign Of Things To Come, Josh Middleton’s virtuoso wrecking crew are poised to release their latest and best album, The New Flesh. A towering testament to destructive riffing, incisive melody and refined brute force, the band’s seventh full-length offering is a powerful showcase for the state of SYLOSIS in 2026: lethal, uncompromising, and avowedly metal as all hell.

The New Flesh is a fearsome statement of renewed intent. Harder, heavier and more ruthless than its predecessor, it is full of the kind of explosive, riff-driven anthems that guarantee carnage in the pit. But this is no exercise in mindless bludgeon: instead, Josh Middleton has penned his most evocative and thought-provoking songs to date. From the punishing grooves and breakneck viciousness of the opening 'Beneath The Surface', to the epic conflagration of album closer 'Seeds In The River', The New Flesh is an artful and nuanced take on the pure metal that SYLOSIS hold close to their hearts. This is brutality and catchiness in perfect symbiosis.

Dark and destructive, but dynamic and diligent, SYLOSIS are on blistering, career-best form on The New Flesh. The purposeful reset that began with The Sign Of Things To Come has evolved into something unstoppable, and the band’s latest work brims with confidence and authority. If it’s skull-shattering, 21st century heavy metal you want, The New Flesh brings it like never before.
