Having ridden into their latest battle with their eleventh epic full-length Field Of Swords, Swedish power metal warriors BLOODBOUND have released another video single from the album. "The Nine Crusades" is another historically-themed anthem, retelling the titular events in typical BLOODBOUND style: A sweeping blend of melodic and heavy power metal. Joining their conquest is powerhouse vocalist Brittney Slayes of Canadian band UNLEASH THE ARCHERS, dueting with Patrik J. Selleby in a glorious mid-tempo anthem. Not only is "The Nine Crusades" the perfect album closer, but also a powerful herald of what's to come.

BLOODBOUND are currently getting ready to share their new songs live. Starting March 12 in Hamburg, they will be on tour supporting labelmates ANGUS MCSIX, with additional support from Brainstorm. Their run will take them to eleven cities, ending in Eindhoven on March 22. Following, BLOODBOUND will play European festivals, including mountainous Full Metal Mayrhofen, organized by Wacken Open Air, and Alcatraz Festival in Belgium.

"The major part of this song was actually written by myself and Tomas back in 2018, and it was written especially for the band Sabaton! Joakim Brodén from Sabaton liked the rough demo and wanted to work further on this song together with us, but the collaboration never materialized. I have always felt it was a very strong track, so we decided to record the song ourselves for the new album instead. I am super proud of this song. I feel it’s one of the best songs I’ve ever been involved in writing! The song features the great Brittney Slayes from UNLEASH THE ARCHERS, who sings the song as a duet together with Patrik."

"This song is a summation of the Crusader era, 1096–1291. During this period nine crusades took place. It is estimated that over 2 million people died."

"It is such an honour to be featured on this BLOODBOUND track; I have been a fan of the band for well over a decade so when they approached me about doing some guest vocals of course the answer was a resounding yes! This song is quite different from what we do in UNLEASH THE ARCHERS, and is not at all like my own writing style, so I was excited to be able sing something new and to put my own spin on it. The whole collaboration had been a blast, and I’m glad I was able to make it into the music video as well; it was very nice of them to include me. Hopefully the fans enjoy this song and feel I added something worthwhile to this already amazing band!"

The Props Share "Arrow" Video

Los Angeles—based alternative band THE PROPS — Nick Ruiz (vocals), Dawson Henry (guitar), Sam Edelman (drums), and Jersey Sullivan — will drop their debut EP, Arrow, which was produced by GRAMMY®-winner Carlos de la Garza, on April 10 via Blue Grape Music. Pre-save it here.

DREAMS OF GRAY Venture Into Heavy Melodic Waters In "Across The Endless Sea"

DREAMS OF GRAY's "Across The Endless Sea" is powerful with high intensity while also incorporating catchy chorus vocal melodies, and elements from other subgenres such as characteristics of black metal guitars. Accompanied with a cinematic lyric video, "Across The Endless Sea" considers the interconnected nature of our lives. We are all on our individual paths through life and while some connections are long-lasting, others may only be fleeting. 

On the lyrical theme, vocalist and guitarist Luis Rivera explains, "the song glimpses the idea of the interconnectedness of life. You are not just you; you are connected to others, some of whom are still here, while others have departed. You, too, are on a journey. You, too, are a connection for others."

DREAMS OF GRAY's newest EP, A Beginning, marks a new chapter of sonic exploration leading further into melodic realms across extreme subgenres. Led by Luis Rivera, the project's sound draws from a wide array of melodic death and doom, along with elements of thrash and traditional heavy metal. On the EP Rivera was joined by Maria Kosma on bass, with drums on "A Beginning" performed by Nicole Trinchero, and drum programming on "Beyond the Sky" and "A Beginning" by Scott Elliot. 

Produced by Luis Rivera, "A Beginning" was recorded, mixed and masted by Josh Middleton at Josh Middleton Studio. "Beyond the Sky" and "Across the Endless Sea" both recorded at Chernobyl Audio Studio and mixed and masted by Scott Elliot.

DREAMS OF GRAY was devised by Chicago, IL, based musician and composer Luis Rivera (ABOLISHER) in 2022. In the following year, the project released their critically acclaimed debut EP The World After. On their debut album, the Montréal four-piece concocted the next progressive evolution in technical death metal by splicing together classic brutality and prog’s insatiable curiosity with a refreshing knack for melody. Now, ahead of their fifteenth anniversary tour in celebration of The Aura, the Independent Music and Lit Music Award winners and Canadian Grammy nominees are releasing their first new song in eight years.    

Beyond Creation are thrilled to announce their new single, “Reverence”. While burdened by heavy expectations and the ashes of doubt, like a phoenix, the band rise in a brilliant display of strength and spirit.

Like all creative minds, “Reverence” begins uninhibited. Girard and fellow guitarist Kevin Chartré trade notes freely, responding to one another with the grace and understanding that comes from playing in a band together for more than 15 years. But this moment of elation proves painfully brief. “Thrown into a sea of endless thoughts”, Girard screams as chugging riffs bring the song crumbling under the weight of expectations. “A quiet war within my core”. Pushed to a breaking point, the band headbang as if trapped inside their own metal prison.  

“With social media, we are constantly measuring ourselves against others”, Girard says. “The more we compare, the further we drift from our true selves and our authentic voice. We are lost amidst stress and insecurity. We feel that our ideas lack value, that our techniques are insufficient and our identity is somehow flawed”.

But even though “Reverence” is tormented by outside voices, Beyond Creation remain a guiding force for progressive technical death metal. In the wake of the song’s crushing breakdown, drummer Philippe Boucher leads the band toward the light at the end of its maze-like tunnels with the command of his cymbals and marching snare. “From the abyss, my body will rise / my soul fill fly / my spirit will shine”, Girard growls with renewed conviction. As bassist Hugo Doyon-Karout gently lifts the coda to a higher plane of existence with mind-bending runs, Beyond Creation’s aura burns brighter than ever.

 

“Once we stop with the comparisons, we free ourselves to grow”, Girard concludes. “We flourish in ways we never thought possible”.

Employing a dazzling mix of glam rock, hard rock, and progressive rock, Angel's outrageous, white-satin-heavy image and equally over-the top stage shows, making them one of the more colorful arena rock bands of the mid-'70s and early '80s. Discovered by KISS bass player, Gene Simmons, the group issued their eponymous debut album in 1975, which hewed closer to prog rock than the glam pop that would be on future endeavors like White Hot (1978) and Sinful (1979). The group released a total of five studio albums and one live album before going their separate ways in 1981. The band officially re-formed in 2019 with original members, Punky Meadows and Frank DiMino, and released their comeback studio effort, Risen, later that October and followed up with Once Upon A Time in 2023.

The group's sophomore album Helluva Band was originally released in 1976 for Casablanca Records with a line-up comprising of Frank DiMino (vocals), Punky Meadows (guitar), Gregg Giuffria (keyboards), Mickie Jones (bass), and Barry Brandt (drums). Helluva Band was a strong and quick follow up to their classic 1975 debut and featured the epic “The Fortune” alongside heavier tracks like “Mirrors” and “Feelin’ Right”.

Now to celebrate the 50th Anniversary this classic has been remastered and is being released on both a 6-panel CD digipak and on 180G vinyl in two amazing Limited-Edition Colors with liner notes by journalist Dave Reynolds. Season of Mist Signs The Ghoulstars

Despite their ghostly appearance, The Ghoulstars are a collection of real talent. Axeman Markus “Daddy Ghoul” Laakso and goose-bumping drummer Toni “Ghoulio” Ronkainen shared a past life together in the Top Ten charting Finnish death-doom band Kuolemanlaakso. Bassist Markus “Hella Ghoul” Makkonen formerly haunted the low end for Season of Mist labelmates Hooded Menace while moonhowler Arthur “LL Ghoul A” Thure croons for the stoner rockers Thermate.

Over the last four years, The Ghoulstars have captivated press and tantalized crowds in their native haunt of Finland without releasing a single bloody track.  Until now! The skeletal supergroup of horror punks are about to raise the curtain from their monstrously catchy debut album, which mashes together everything that blew their minds as kids: surf beats, headbanging metal riffs, shout-along punk rock choruses and B-movie horror.

“We can’t wait to unleash our delightful horrors upon the world with Season of Mist, a revered label with a sharp eye for unique talent”, Laakso says. “Our upcoming debut album is a love letter to ‘80s aesthetics, B-movies, huge riffs, big choruses, punk rock, metal, surprising curveballs and the sheer joy of all the pieces falling into the right places. Haste the Day Drop "Liminal" Visualizer (Feat. Garrett Russell from Silent Planet)

HASTE THE DAY, the metalcore band that made a scene splash in the '00s, returned in 2024 with the video for the new song "Burn." They also appeared at Furnace Fest that year. It was their first music in nearly a decade. But they didn't stop there. Not a chance!  Earlier this month, the beloved band announce its new album DISSENTER will arrive May 1 on Solid State Records. Haste The Day conjure the sound of coming full circle. The Indiana-bred band rekindles the spark at the heart of their signature style by sharpening the edges, tightening the melodies, and amplifying the scope with cinematic ambition. Haste The Day have clung to their integrity since initially emerging at the turn of the century. Following Burning Bridges [2004] and When Everything Falls [2005], Stephen made his formal debut as the group's frontman on Pressure The Hinges [2007]. The band unleashed a trio of fan favorite offerings, namely Dreamer [2008], the seminal Attack Of The Wolf King [2010], and Coward [2015]. The latter marked their second straight Top 20 entry on the Billboard Top Rock Albums chart and second Top 10 on the Hard Rock Albums Chart. Along the way, they toured with everyone from Hollywood Undead to Norma Jean. Despite going dormant in 2016, they amassed tens of millions of streams and continued to resonate with an ever-expanding audience. As such, their 2023 reunion gig at the sold-out Furnace Fest was met with overwhelming enthusiasm. Returning with their first full-length release in eleven years, the musicians tap into who they were and push forward together on their seventh LP, Dissenter [Solid State].

DISSENTIENCE Unveil Monstrous Video For "Kaiju", Taken From The New EP Kaiju

Inspired by classic Japanese monster films and Lovecraftian mythology, DISSENTIENCE are left to fend for themselves and escape a destructive, nameless beast in their latest release "Kaiju". Based out of Bethlehem, PA, the progressive death-thrash unit unleash a devastatingly brutal onslaught accompanied with their humorous take on a B-movie video style, available BELOW.  

"While we take the music side of DISSENTIENCE very seriously, the 'Kaiju' video was a great excuse to have some fun with the whole concept." The band shares. "The last thing the world needs is another 'band in a warehouse' or 'live on stage' music video, so we wanted to do things a little differently. Keeping the monster off-screen, we leaned into the B-Movie aspect of our inspiration as it seemingly picks us off one by one. Running around on a freezing day in northeast PA was absolutely brutal, but Sarah from Novro Studios absolutely nailed the edit and made all the frostbite worth it!"

"Kaiju" is the title track and narrative climax of their newly released four-track concept EP. The song's lyrics describe grotesque scenes of bloodshed and helplessness as the unseen terror rips through the last remnants of resistance. Sonically, brutal gutturals, riffs and rhythmic fury build with intensity throughout as the sense of urgency and impending doom escalates.

Kaiju was produced by the band alongside Corey Pierce, the record was engineered by Matt Menafro at Peach Pie Sound, mixed by Zeuss, and mastered by Alan Douches. The music video for "Kaiju" was shot and edited by Sarah Novroski & Novro Studios. The full EP is released independently and available on digital and CD formats.

COUNTRY ROCK POWERHOUSE KASEY TYNDALL TEAMS UP WITH PLATINUM-SELLING ROCK BAND POP EVIL FOR NEW SINGLE, “MAYBE YOU’RE THE ONE”:

Country-rock standout Kasey Tyndall joins forces with platinum-selling rock band Pop Evil for the powerful new single, “Maybe You’re The One.” The track delivers a soaring call-and-response rock ballad driven by grit, emotion, and arena-ready energy.

Pop Evil’s Leigh Kakaty had most of the song written, but wanted to partner with a female country artist who shared the song's vision. With Pop Evil and Tyndall already labelmates, the partnership came together naturally. The artists met in Nashville last fall to record the track with producer Derek Wells (known for work with HARDY, Jordan Davis, Maddie & Tae, and Post Malone).

PAUL CAUTHEN SHARES UNFILTERED DUET “CHAIN SMOKING” (FEAT. DELANEY RAMSDELL) AHEAD OF ALBUM RELEASE

With his authoritative fifth album Book of Paul just one month away, country iconoclast Paul Cauthen gives fans a taste of its unfiltered artistry on “Chain Smoking” (featuring Delaney Ramsdell) – a slow-burning duet so vivid, it should come with a Surgeon General’s warning. Co-written by Cauthen with Beau Bedford and Jason Burt, “Chain Smoking” (featuring Delaney Ramsdell) arrives as an aching barstool ballad, with the sharp pain of a breakup hanging heavy in the air. 
 
Pairing the Texas native’s Big Velvet vocal with smoky roots-country counterpoint, finger-picked acoustic guitar and weary steel swirl in a dive-bar haze of romantic devastation. As a striking look at the emotional fire powering Cauthen’s next chapter, the track soon rises into bellowing soundtrack to full-flavor sorrow, where more pain is the one-and-only cure.
 
“Ain’t it funny how two things go together … Like chain smoking with a broken heart,” goes the track.
 
With his booming baritone with a near-biblical swagger, Cauthen’s Book of Paul is set to arrive on April 3. Classic-country grit and gospel power fuse with a rhinestoned rock-and-roll edge, as the fiercely independent singer-songwriter known as “Big Velvet” returns to his East Texas roots.

INFERI Unleashes Music Video for Brutal Title Track from Upcoming Album, 'Heaven Wept'

Extreme death metal masters INFERI are now unleashing a brand new music video for the brutal title track of their upcoming new full-length, 'Heaven Wept,' which is due on April 10, 2026 via The Artisan Era! The clip features a montage of the band's live performances and candid behind-the-scenes footage, which were taken at various shows during INFERI's last few tours. INFERI comments, "It brings us great pleasure to present the title track of our upcoming album, 'Heaven Wept.' This was actually the first song we finished for the album, and it's crushing yet groovy atmosphere solidified the bedrock of theological horror we sought to build upon. XCOMM Release New Single & Music Video “Hot Pursuit / One And Nothing”

Following a landmark start to 2026 that saw them support the Foo Fighters at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, earn a place on the prestigious NME 100 of 2026, rack up over 2.5 million views across all platforms on their music video for “Fake ID,” and surge to nearly 50,000 Instagram followers in a matter of weeks, Venice hardcore unit XCOMM return today with their new single “Hot Pursuit / One And Nothing.” Watch the video BELOW and stream the track HERE.

Released via Blowed Out Records - the incubator-like brainchild of Ross Robinson, Ghostemane, and Bill Armstrong and produced by Ross Robinson (Korn, The Cure, Slipknot, Glassjaw, At The Drive In), the track captures the remarkable spectrum of what XCOMM are capable of. “Hot Pursuit” is fast, confrontational and unrelenting and moves with razor-sharp urgency before folding into the darker, almost ethereal tension of “One And Nothing.” The result is the sound of a young band showcasing their exceptional range without any compromise or softening their edges. APOSTLE Announce New Album A Splinter in the Infinite Noumenon, Release Crushing New Single "Swine"

ATLANTA, GA metal trio APOSTLE have announced their forthcoming full-length album A Splinter in the Infinite Noumenon, set for release June 5, 2026 via Terminus Hate City. Alongside the announcement, the band has unveiled the album’s first single, "Swine", accompanied by a visualizer.

Formed in 2017, APOSTLE have built a reputation for blending the aggression of grindcore and chaotic hardcore with the atmosphere of post-black metal and the melodic weight of shoegaze and post-rock. Their sound is urgent, emotive, and cathartic, drawing influence from bands such as Plebeian Grandstand, Yellow Eyes, Wiegedood, Mourier, and Kły. With A Splinter in the Infinite Noumenon, the Atlanta trio deliver their most cohesive and devastating work to date.

"Swine" erupts with panicked tremolo melodies and punishing rhythmic shifts, channeling collective frustration into controlled chaos. Lyrically, the track confronts systems of oppression, consequence, and accountability, using stark imagery and visceral delivery to underscore the emotional and political weight behind its message. The song captures APOSTLE at their most confrontational while maintaining the dynamic depth and melodic sensibility that define the band’s evolving identity.

The album title references Carl Jung’s description of humanity as a “splinter in the infinite deity,” framing the record as an exploration of spiritual duality, grief, and self-examination. Across six tracks and 27 minutes, the band move through themes of loss, mortality, internal conflict, and eventual healing. The record serves as both a meditation on the human condition and a deeply personal tribute shaped by grief and remembrance.

SWANWRITER Announces New Album melodies of despair and Releases First Single "girl on the wall"

Vancouver, BC progressive metal project SWANWRITER has announced the upcoming release of its second full-length album, melodies of despair, arriving independently on June 26. Alongside the announcement, the project unveils the album’s second single, "girl on the wall", offering an early look into the record’s darker emotional and narrative themes.

Created entirely by multi-instrumentalist Koda, melodies of despair continues the dark, cinematic direction introduced on SWANWRITER’s 2023 debut There is a darkness. The new album presents a collection of interconnected horror-inspired narratives shaped by themes of isolation, grief, betrayal, and psychological unease, delivered through expansive progressive metal compositions enriched with piano, acoustic instrumentation, and orchestral textures.

Serving as the first glimpse into the album’s world, "girl on the wall" captures one of its most emotionally immediate moments. Inspired by the cult horror game Ib, the track tells the story of a girl trapped inside a painting, observing life from beyond reach while growing increasingly consumed by jealousy and longing. Musically, the song balances melodic accessibility with progressive ambition, driven by classical guitar passages, shifting vocal dynamics, and layered bass arrangements that deepen its surreal atmosphere.

While maintaining the long-form songwriting approach that defines SWANWRITER, melodies of despair expands its sonic range with greater emphasis on acoustic elements and dynamic contrast. Across its six compositions, the album moves between fragile intimacy and overwhelming heaviness, unfolding as a complete listening experience intended to be heard from beginning to end.

About SWANWRITER:
  SWANWRITER is a dark progressive metal project based in Vancouver, British Columbia, created and performed entirely by the anonymous multi-instrumentalist known as Koda. Formed in 2023, the project emerged from a desire to merge progressive metal songwriting with classical composition, atmospheric storytelling, and emotionally driven arrangements.

Having studied classical piano from an early age before later discovering extreme metal, Koda developed SWANWRITER as a space to explore long-form composition without stylistic limitation. The music draws influence from progressive and experimental metal alongside classical composers such as Bach, Beethoven, and Chopin, resulting in compositions that emphasize dynamics, texture, and narrative pacing.

SWANWRITER debuted with There is a darkness in June 2023, establishing a sound centered on extended song structures, melodic development, and cinematic atmosphere. Rather than focusing on technical exhibition, the project prioritizes mood, storytelling, and cohesion across full-length releases.

Themes throughout SWANWRITER’s work often intersect with psychological horror, melancholy, and introspection, shaped in part by inspiration from horror games, film soundtracks, and dark ambient music.
