The Barbarians of California Are Back With "Bomb to a Knife Fight" Video + Tour Dates With Poison the Well + GN'R

The West Coast's contribution to hardcore punk is undeniable. That tradition of aggression, passion, and scrappy melodicism continues with The Barbarians Of California, an engaging new manifestation of iconoclastic spirit and true bombast. Featuring Aaron Bruno of AWOLNATION and Eric Stenman of Tinfed, as well as being a noted producer, TBOC are equal opportunity iconoclasts, gleefully thrashing the left and the right in the hardcore-punk tradition of nonconformity and raw fury. The band isn't "political," because they aren't advocating for anyone's platform. The central message is defiance.

The band kicks off 2026 with the roaring new single "Bomb To A Knife Fight."

Watch the video below.

"'Bomb To A Knife Fight' was the first song we completed after finishing our first-ever tour with Deftones and IDLES," the band offers. "You'd have to imagine that the perspective of playing live every night played a part in the creation of this song. Also, our love of old-school hip-hop may shine through a little on this one."
In addition to performing at ShipRocked 2026 later this month, TBOC will serve as support for Guns N' Roses for two shows this summer.

The band will also embark on several dates supporting Poison the Well and Converge in the spring.

All upcoming and confirmed live shows are below.

ABOUT THE BARBARIANS OF CALIFORNIA:
So, who, exactly, are The Barbarians of California? Here's a refresher.

Eric Stenman and Aaron Bruno first collided in the California hardcore scene of the early '90s. Stenman cut his teeth in the same Sacramento community that eventually launched diverse and disparate acts like Deftones, Far, Will Haven, Team Sleep, Hella, Death Grips, and Trash Talk. Bruno was born and raised just north of L.A. and nicknamed "AWOL" by his high school friends.  Eric played guitar for cutting-edge, electro-infused rockers Tinfed. Commercial success eluded them despite a cult following, a deal with a major label, and an appearance on the M:I 2 soundtrack.  Bruno co-founded the hardcore band Insurgence as a teenager. His next band, Home Town Hero, toured with Weezer and Stone Temple Pilots and released a major label album, but combusted in 2004. Next came Under The Influence Of Giants, who, despite critical acclaim, disbanded in 2008. Stenman became one of the most sought-after producers of alternative rock. His discography as a producer, mixer, and engineer includes important releases from 7 Seconds, Senses Fail, ††† (Crosses), and AWOLNATION. AWOLNATION, of course, is the multi-platinum act Bruno formed in 2009.

The spirit of the underground and the personal catharsis delivered through metallic hardcore never left either of them. So, when Aaron learned that Eric crafted a batch of throwback bangers combining impassioned angst with modern sensibilities, he wanted in immediately. The Barbarians were born.  The apparent "full circle" moment isn't lost on either of them. "It's a funny time in our lives to go back and make the most aggressive music we've ever created," Stenman laughs. “Both of us have always had a love for this world. If given the opportunity, why not try to give back to it?"

The Gloom In The Corner Erupt With "Nope (Hollow Point Elysium)" Video

Erupting into 2026 ahead of the upcoming release of their third full-length album, Royal Discordance, due out February 27 via SharpTone Records, Melbourne's The Gloom In The Corner returns with a brand new single and accompanying visualizer "Nope (Hollow Point Elysium)."

A rhapsodic outing cleaving together sinuous verses and blistering dynamic shifts, "Nope (Hollow Point Elysium)" also hurls thematic pop culture nods deep into its core, emerging as a gripping and expansive step deeper once again into the Gloom Cinematic Universe.

"'Nope' is the ode to some of my favorite action movies and video games growing up," the band shares of their latest single. "A bullet ballet for metalcore that will — much like the definition of 'Hollow Point Elysium' — blow your head smooth off."

Watch the visualizer for "Nope (Hollow Point Elysium)" Below:

A record that could readily soundtrack an Anime epic, a Netflix smash series, or a sprawling open-world game, Royal Discordance is certainly not your average metalcore album. An action-packed opus hell-bent on sharp narratives and astonishing sonic dexterity, Royal Discordance journeys between an all-out onslaught (previous single "Assassination Run") through to cinematic-yet-sinister brutality on "Nope (Hollow Point Elysium)," grinning chaotic frenzy on "You Didn't Like Me Then (You Won't Like Me Now)," and a double closing sucker punch via the two-track suite "Love 1: A Quaver Through the Pale" and "Love 2: A Walk Amongst The Poppy Fields."

Insatiably showcasing their relentless pursuit for sonic evolution, and recorded in 2024 with producer Jonathan Delese in Nashville, Tennessee, Royal Discordance also ushers in some of Gloom's most universal songs to date, all while remaining true to their chaotic core in the process. Whether channeling My Chemical Romance and positivity or penning pit-splitting breakdowns, The Gloom In The Corner balance their tumultuous creative DNA with an album primed for multiple revisits; and one that devoutly treads new ground.

Over the years, The Gloom In The Corner have engineered a space for total sensory immersion via a series of releases, spanning their 2016 debut album Fear Me, through to their Homecoming EP (2017), Flesh & Bones (2019), Ultima Pluvia EP (2020) and their 2022 album Trinity, with the latter commanding a 5/5 star album review from New Noise Magazine, praising it as "a real stunner and a benchmark for metalcore going forward." Translating their rich sonic universe into a live setting, The Gloom In The Corner have dazzled stages around the globe, spanning Australia, Europe and North America, along with aligning a horde of elite collaborators including Fit For A King's Ryan Kirby, Fit For An Autopsy's Joe BadolatoCane Hill's Elijah Witt and many more.

Closing out 2025 in Europe supporting Swedish metalcore greats Aviana, The Gloom In The Corner will support American heavies King 810 nationally in Australia this March, and will also perform this October as part of the entirely sold out inaugural Hellbound Cruise alongside Parkway Drive, Polaris and more.

BLOODHUNTER Release Ferocious Video For New Single “The Devil’s Own”

Spain’s ferocious melodic death metal act BLOODHUNTER are back with a vengeance. Following their recent signing with ROAR – A Division of Reigning Phoenix Music, the band now present the first grim taste of what’s to come: their brand-new video single “The Devil’s Own”!

Forged in Galicia, BLOODHUNTER have carved out a strong position within the international extreme metal scene through uncompromising songwriting, intense live performances and a clear artistic vision. Fronted by the unmistakable Diva Satanica, the band fuse razor-sharp riffing, massive grooves and sweeping melodies with a fierce vocal attack and strong conceptual identity.

“The Devil’s Own” shows BLOODHUNTER pushing beyond familiar territory. The track blends oppressive heaviness with haunting melodic lines, creating an atmosphere that feels both brutally aggressive and eerily beautiful. It is darker, more personal and more daring than anything the band have released so far, while still hitting with unmistakable BLOODHUNTER force.

Visually, the accompanying video mirrors the song’s inner conflict and darkness, underlining the emotional weight of the track while embracing the band’s extreme-metal aesthetic.

Watch the video premiering Below:

Diva Satanica explains the intense personal background behind the song:
“I wrote the lyrics while being on my last tour in South America with another band. It was a very intense period of my life when I had to take some of the hardest decisions in my career, so it speaks about that. It was one of our faves since the beginning because it's very different from what we've done so far: it's pure evil but with lots of beautiful melodies.”

After joining forces with ROAR, “The Devil’s Own” serves as a first harbinger of BLOODHUNTER’s upcoming new album, which will be released in the hopefully not-too-distant future. If this single is any indication, the next record will be the band’s most fearless and uncompromising statement yet!

Your Inland Empire Confront Power and Collapse in New Video for “Edge of Perfection”

From the ashes of Crown, rises a dark new wave of industrial rock. As Your Inland Empire, the duo of Stéphane Azam and David Husser take the heavy electronics that they first donned on Crown’s last album a step further into dark industrial rock, where vulnerability and violence converge in a single breath.

Today, Your Inland Empire are releasing a new video for their searing single “Edge of Perfection”. Driven by industrial punk aggression and hypnotic repetition, the song cuts into themes of domination, dependency, and societal fracture, pushing the album’s dark night of the soul to its most exposed edge.

This is a song about power devouring humanity, about leaders who abandon their own people and push them into the margins” , saysYour Inland Empire vocalist Stéphane Azam. “It reflects the raw cruelty humans are capable of, how easily empathy collapses, how suffering becomes invisible. This song stands for those erased, forgotten, and left to rot at the edge of a world pretending to be perfect.

The accompanying video extends the song’s tension through a deliberate visual contrast. Spliced with the band’s performance filmed inside the Le Grillen venue in Colmar, France, are sequences of catastrophic and dystopian imagery. These opposing layers collide throughout the piece, framing the immediacy of human expression against the cold abstraction of mediated collapse. The result mirrors the song’s intent: individual bodies and voices pushed to the foreground while systems of power, erosion and indifference unfold relentlessly in the background.

A forecast for their impending album resonates with the echoes of an empire’s intimate fears and tenebrous hopes. The orchestra of creation bellows, addressing the collective’s core, intricately showcasing their unique craftsmanship and unyielding drive.

The B.O.S. Share "Ice Cream Cone" Video

THE B.O.S. have shared the video for their addictively bluesy new single "ICE CREAM CONE." It'll a vintage-inspired, guitar-driven jam that will make you melt!

Watch it below.

"Ice Cream Cone" is the first single from the band's upcoming album Volume 2, which arrives later this spring.

The B.O.S., comprised of Tom Neely (guitars), Adi Argelazi (lead vocals), Dylan Wilson (bass), Matt Lesser (drums), and Dave Schulz (keys), has been rocking out since 2002. Fun fact: Wilson and Lesser make up the rhythm section of  Richie Kotzen's band. Schulz also has an impressive resume, as the original keyboardist for Goo Goo Dolls and who has also performed with Wang Chung, Berlin, and more.

The B.O.S are a hard rock band that draws deep inspiration from the golden age of '70s hard rock, particularly the powerful and unforgettable riff-driven sound that defined the era. The band's output is marked by heavy, groovy riffs, and a raw, soulful intensity that fans of vintage rock will instantly recognize and appreciate. The band boasts an all-star lineup of seasoned musicians, each bringing their exceptional talents and years of experience to the mix. Their performances are a blend of technical and emotional depth, with each member contributing to the collective energy that drives the band's signature style. There ain't nothing AI about The B.O.S.

The band's music is also produced and engineered by Grammy Award winner Neil Citron. Whether through the anthemic power of their tracks or their unique song arrangements and intricacies that satisfy the most proficient rock fans, The B.O.S performs a rock experience that is at once reminiscent and fresh.

EMBERS OF DAWN Release New Single “Static Prayer”

EMBERS OF DAWN present “Static Prayer,” a new single that defines the band’s industrial metal identity through precision, atmosphere, and thematic weight. The track introduces an original industrial metal approach that is distinct to the band, built on driving mechanical rhythms, fast double bass passages, and layered guitar harmonies paired with searing lead work.

Lyrically, “Static Prayer” explores faith, despair, and the collapse of meaning within a world shaped by signals, data, and constant noise. Religious imagery is merged with technological language to create a bleak, post-human vision of modern existence. The song portrays a reality where faith has been replaced by systems and code, leaving only ritual without transcendence and communication without understanding. The “static prayer” becomes an empty act of submission to noise, reflecting spiritual exhaustion and emotional detachment.

Musically, the track balances cinematic scope with punishing intensity. Industrial textures intersect with gothic atmosphere, melodic death metal precision, and cyber-metal aesthetics. The result is a sound that feels mechanical, haunted, and fatalistic, reinforcing the song’s themes of alienation and decay.

EMBERS OF DAWN are known for their focus on modern disconnection, psychological erosion, and the emotional consequences of technological dominance. “Static Prayer” continues this trajectory, offering a stark reflection on a world where humanity speaks endlessly but hears nothing in return.

About EMBERS OF DAWN:

Formed in 2022, EMBERS OF DAWN is a genre-defying metal project born out of Jacksonville, Florida and Santa Barbara, California. The band blends elements of industrial, gothic, melodic death metal, and cyber-metal to create a sound that is both cinematic and punishing. Known for their thematic focus on alienation, modern decay, and emotional detachment, EMBERS OF DAWN delivers music that is as introspective as it is aggressive.

The band’s music features cold, mechanical precision layered with dark melodic textures, drawing influence from acts like PAIN, DARK TRANQUILLITY, MINISTRY, FEAR FACTORY, RAMMSTEIN, STATIC-X, ROB ZOMBIE, ARCH ENEMY, and TYPE O NEGATIVE. With each release, they continue to explore new sonic territory, balancing technicality with atmosphere, brutality with beauty.

Their upcoming debut album Infernal Culture features drums by ADRIAN ERLANDSSON (AT THE GATES, CRADLE OF FILTH, PARADISE LOST, THE HAUNTED), adding an explosive edge to their already dynamic sound.

EMBERS OF DAWN is:

  • Cliff Ross – guitars, programming

  • Scott Van Horn – bass, programming

  • Graves- Vocals

Laptop presents new single 'Confused', a sonic response to a fracturing democratic reality

NYC alternative pop outfit Laptop presents their new single “Confused” — the emotional and thematic center of their forthcoming album "On This Planet" and their most definitive song to date. Written in response to January 6 (now the 5th anniversary), the track captures the psychological whiplash of watching democratic reality fracture in real time, filtered through the perspective of a man glued to the news, overwhelmed by noise, grievance, spectacle, and historical déjà vu.

Formed in the late ’90s, Laptop released three albums with Island Records with praise from the NME, The Guardian and others for their stylized blend of synth-pop & irony. Now a multi-generational project with Jesse Hartman joined by his son Charlie Hartman, they are not observing the present from a distance. “Confused” is the sound of living inside it — aware of history, aware of danger, and quietly aware that even the people telling us what’s happening may not know what to believe themselves. Yet for all its tension, “Confused” is not humorless. Like much of Laptop’s work, the song is threaded with a dry, unsettling irony — the kind that emerges when reality itself starts to feel absurd.

“‘Confused’ came from the shock of watching January 6 unfold on TV — but the really twisted part is that we’d been in D.C. two days earlier, visiting family, cluelessly being tourists, while staying at the hotel where the lead insurrectionists were actually meeting. We had no idea. But the city felt off — weirdly quiet, strange characters everywhere — like the ’70s version of "Invasion of the Body Snatchers". MAGA evangelicals blowing Jewish shofars, that kind of bizarro-ness," says Jesse Hartman.

"Then we went back to New York, life felt normal again for a moment,, and then a day later we were watching the least normal thing I’ve ever seen unfold. The whole family was completely freaked out, especially Lulu. (“Daddy was confused…Now, he’s flown the coop” – or is it coup? - recalling the ghostly children’s chorus of "Another Brick in the Wall”). Once the song got going, it felt obvious she had to be part of it.”

That generational perspective extends to the artwork. The cover image — a stark, almost African-influenced child’s face — was painted by Lulu herself. Rendered with raw simplicity and quiet distress, the image feels ancient and immediate at once. Lulu belongs to a generation that has grown up with Trump, COVID, lockdowns, and permanent crisis — for whom confusion isn’t a moment, but a condition. Like her voice in the track, the artwork doesn’t explain anything. It watches.

Musically, "Confused" is hypnotic and rhythm-driven, built on a circular, Afro-influenced groove that recalls Fela Kuti’s forward momentum filtered through the nervous minimalism of Talking Heads’ "Remain in Light” era. The track accumulates tension rather than releasing it. It openly channels the philosophy ofCompass Point Studios— rhythm as infrastructure, voices as texture, politics embedded in groove rather than announcement. The song keeps moving, even as clarity collapses. And like the other“On This Planet”album tracks, “Confused” was written and produced by Jesse Hartman, which was tracked in Valencia and overdubbed in Nevis, a place the band came to call the inspiration island.

Pushing the song’s themes into visual satire, the music video is framed as a CNN-style news broadcast, withJesse Hartman as the anchor — calm, youthful, and unsettlingly composed — delivering chaos with the authority of media normalcy.Denise Gordon andGeddys “Ch4se” Fergusonappear as correspondents reporting from distant, vaguely defined locations, their dispatches fragmented and contradictory.Jesse Hartmanhovers as an ambiguous figure — part tyrant, part media creation, part projection — never clarified, never resolved. The result isn’t parody so much as a wry, uncomfortable mirror: a world where information, performance, and power blur until belief itself feels optional.

n 2025, Laptop released several singles - "Indie Hero""Additional Animals""I Don't Know", and “Weirder”, mixed by Grammy award-winning producer Mario McNulty (David Bowie, Prince, Nine Inch Nails, Julian Lennon), in addition to a Tom Waits holiday covercollectively drawing millions of views and reintroducing Laptop’s postmodern humor to a new generation.

“Confused” is out on January 23 via Hurricane Cove Records, available on streaming platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp. The much-anticipated "On This Planet" album will be released in Spring 2026.

Gunshine Releases Music Video for Single "Goth Girl"

Florida rock band Gunshine kick off 2026 with the release of their new single, “Goth Girl,”offering fans a first taste of their forthcoming full-length album, Grand Rising, due out digitally on July 24 through vnclm_ /  Create Music Group.

The album is now available on limited edition vinyl and CD here:

https://gunshine.diggers.store/

In celebration of the release, the band has unveiled the official music video for "Goth Girl".

WATCH the Video Below :

While the digital release of Grand Rising arrives later this summer, fans won’t have to wait long to get their hands on the record. Physical copies of the album will be available for purchase starting next week, including CD and double vinyl editions, alongside exclusive Gunshine merchandise. Physical formats will be sold online through the band and at upcoming live shows.

"Goth Girl", the lead single from Gunshine's upcoming album Grand Rising, is an irresistible hooky track with undeniable melody and attitude.  A track that blends different flavors and styles seamlessly, showcasing Gunshine's originality and songwriting prowess.  This track also features a collaboration with highly acclaimed songwriter/producer Brian Howes (Hinder, Skillet, Nickelback, Daughtry). The single was mixed and mastered by Chris Collier (Korn, Mick Mars, Whitesnake, Lynchmob).  Austin Ingerman shares, "Chris has worked on all of the Gunshinematerial to date and adds a heavy duty production value, and is an integral part of the sonic translation of the band."

"It started with several vocal melodies and a riff I had, then Jordan had a lyrical concept about a goth girl.  We then collaborated with Brian Howes, and he loved it and we finished the rest of the song in Vancouver, Canada with him," shares Austin Ingerman. "It was the first time we finished writing something on the spot just before tracking it, but that spontaneity brought out some magic. We recorded the basic tracks at The Armoury (where ACDC's razor's edge was recorded, Bon Jovi's slippery when wet, etc), and finished all the rest at his home studio (built by Mutt Lange's studio builder) on Vancouver Island.  I came up with the breakdown on the spot while tracking at The Armoury. It was a cool unexpected left turn that shouldn't work but does."

Hailing from Pensacola, Florida, Gunshine have built a reputation on catchy vocal melodies, clever lyrics, blistering guitar riffs and solos, and a lethal rhythm section. Their sound blends edgy, raw Rock ’n’ Roll attitude with a melodic, Pop-forward sensibility, creating music that hits hard while remaining instantly memorable. Combined with their high-energy, commanding live performances, Gunshine continue to enthrall listeners and prove themselves a force to be reckoned with.

With Grand Rising, Gunshine raise the bar yet again in an exciting evolution of the band. The album takes listeners on a dynamic journey filled with genre-bending twists and turns, shifting moods, and unexpected vibes—all while staying true to the core elements that set Gunshine apart. Featuring 13 tracks, each single-worthy in its own right, Grand Rising is poised to become a modern-day rock classic.

Vicious Rain Release New Single "Trading Hearts" Off of Upcoming Album "The Anatomy of Surviving"

Swiss modern metal outfit Vicious Rain return with their powerful new single "Trading Hearts," taken from the upcoming album The Anatomy of Surviving, set for release on March 13.

With "Trading Hearts," Vicious Rain sharpen their emotional edge even further. The track captures the tension between vulnerability and self-preservation, blending crushing heaviness with an intense, melodic core. It’s a song about emotional exchange, loss, and the scars that remain when connections turn transactional - a theme that fits seamlessly into the album’s overarching narrative of resilience and survival.

The band have built serious momentum leading into the album cycle. Previous singles "IKIGAI," "Spitting Blood Again," and "Silent Therapy" all proved to be standout successes, resonating strongly with fans and underlining Vicious Rain’s ability to fuse raw emotion with modern metal intensity.

"Trading Hearts" feels like the next logical step: darker, more focused, and emotionally uncompromising. As anticipation builds toward The Anatomy of Surviving, Vicious Rain continue to position themselves as one of the most compelling voices in contemporary heavy music.

Led by producer Andrew Baylis (Jelly Roll), alongside a group of collaborators guiding the arrangements (full list below), the project features his debut country radio single “Devil Ain’t Done,” as well as the driving lead preview track “Spare Key,” out today.

Prior to signing with BBR Music Group/BMG Nashville, Atlus released four independent albums, building a loyal underground following that led to breakthrough moments including performing alongside Jelly Roll at a packed Red Rocks Amphitheatre, earning a Top 5 album on Spotify’s Global Album Chart, surpassing one billion on-demand streams, and achieving a Platinum release. Recently named one of Pandora’s 2026 Artists to Watch in Country, Atlus is known for his powerful vocals, infectious melodies, and emotionally driven songwriting.

Raised in a single-parent home shaped by poverty and addiction, Atlus forged the resilience and commitment to authenticity that define his music. He began writing songs while working long hours as a commercial truck driver, crafting lyrics behind the wheel to support his family and fund studio time. That pavement grind ultimately laid the foundation for the artist he is today.

The project follows the success of “Devil Ain’t Done,” his debut country radio single, which was among the most-added songs at country radio on add day, reached the Top 5 in Australia, and continues to climb the U.S. charts. An instant fan favorite, the track pairs infectious grooves with lyrics reflecting self-doubt and perseverance, expanding on Atlus’ mission to create music that feels both universal and unmistakably his own.

The lead preview track “Spare Key” is built around a driving chorus and serves as an ode to a piece of brass that once symbolized opening his heart to love and possibility. “Unlocking your heart to love leaves you vulnerable to rejection, and just because someone leaves without having ‘the conversation’ doesn’t mean you’re spared the pain,” he explains. “It’s about loving someone so deeply that even after the relationship is over, you know you would have never changed the locks.”

Many of the album’s tracks focus on family, who have always been his priority. His success has allowed him to retire his mom, but before music took off, the now 33-year-old balanced two truck-driving jobs alongside UPS shifts and Uber rides to afford studio time.

Atlus kicks off his 2026 tour dates tomorrow night in Portland, Oregon, supporting Alexandra Kay.

About Atlus:
Raised in a single-parent home marked by poverty and addiction, Atlus had to grow up fast, building resilience and a lifelong commitment to authenticity in his music. Phonetically named after the mythological Titan who held up the heavens, he began writing while working long hours as a commercial truck driver, crafting lyrics and melodies behind the wheel to help support his family and fund studio time. That pavement-pounding grind became both his classroom and his engine, fueling the rise of a loyal underground following. Breakthrough moments soon followed, including performing alongside Jelly Roll at a packed Red Rocks Amphitheatre and landing a Top 5 album on Spotify’s Global Album Chart. With over a billion on-demand streams, millions of followers across social platforms, a Platinum single to his name, and recognition as one of Pandora’s 2026 Artists to Watch in Country, Atlus continues to turn personal stories into universal anthems. His label debut album, Art of Letting Go, arrives March 20 via BBR Music Group/BMG Nashville and features his first single that is currently climbing the country radio charts, “Devil Ain’t Done.”

Paul Cauthen Sets BOOK OF PAUL for April 3; “Texas Swagger” Out Now

Embodying the independent spirit of his two decade climb through the country underground, iconoclastic artist Paul Cauthen pairs his booming baritone with a near-biblical swagger for his upcoming fifth album, Book of Paul

Out April 3, classic-country grit and gospel power fuse with a rhinestoned rock-and-roll edge, as the singer-songwriter known as “Big Velvet” returns to his East Texas roots. With a well documented distaste for playing by anyone else’s rules, the fiery singer-songwriter writes his own creative code in permanent ink.

“If you look at the Bible, there is no book of Paul,” Cauthen explains. “I just wanted to write something that embodies me, because I’m sick of hearing records catered to what’s hot and what’s working. Me, I’ve always been this country boy, East Texas guy. Roots, rock and roll, Texas gospel. If you look back at all my albums, I’m proud to say I meant everything I’ve said.”

Pre-save / pre-add Paul Cauthen’s Book of Paul

With production split between chart-topping songwriter Ryan Tyndell, Steve Rusch (Jessie Murph, Koe Wetzel) and Sam Martinez (Tyler Braden, Carrie Underwood), plus Fustin (Priscilla Block) and Nate Ferraro (Beyoncé), Cauthen’s streak of against-the-grain attitude continues.

Capturing his unruly essence with all the charm of a rattlesnake (and the vocal venom to match), gritty, swampy, East Texas country comes alive under Cauthen’s undeniable artistic gravitas, as a true-to-him battle between darkness and light unfolds. The rising star co-wrote 12 of 13 tracks and even plays bass and drums on select tracks, carving a path of utterly authentic country music; fearless, proud and with two middle fingers in the air.

“It’s just being who you are – unapologetically yourself – and that’s every one of my records,” Cauthen says. “I have built my whole career going against the grain, and that’s what this record is. The freaking trials and tribulations of Paul. It’s everything I wanted on an album.”

Highlighting the rising star’s mission, Cauthen marks the album announcement with the release of “Texas Swagger.” With its bronc-bucking beat, dark twang and barely contained sense of danger, the tune was co-written by Cauthen with Rob Ragosta and Martinez, who also produced.

With a full dose of Big Velvet attitude, the track also comes with a strutting music video, directed and shot by Gus Black and Randy Quartieri. Filmed at the BuckTown bull riding compound of legend JB Mauney – another true original with a “Texas Swagger” of his own – the clip brings Cauthen’s fierce authenticity to life. “If all else fails, fucking just remember where you came from,” he proclaims.

Coming off one of the biggest years of his career with a GOLD-certified feature on Shaboozey’s “Last Of My Kind,” Cauthen’s “Texas Swagger” joins two previously released tracks from the upcoming Book of Paul.

Soul pop and gospel twang reach a slow-rolling confluence on the East Texas love story “Bayou By You.” And with the hypnotic, outlaw-country romance of “Ain’t No Crime,” Cauthen enters a voluntary lockup of love.

Having collaborated with everyone from Margo Price and Orville Peck to Cody Jinks and Lana Del Rey, Cauthen’s enigmatic “it factor” has been on display since his 2016 solo debut, My Gospel. Landing somewhere in the ether between Waylon Jennings, Elvis Presley and Jerry Lee Lewis, raucous live shows filled with steel-toed rhinestones and gothic roots rock have cemented his legacy, alongside favorites like “Cocaine Country Dancing” and “Fuck You Money” and the previous albums Room 41Country Coming Down and Black on Black.

Swim the Current Release New Single "Concrete Angel" via TLG|ZOID

The dynamic rock band Swim the Current is excited to announce the release of their latest single, "Concrete Angel", via TLG|ZOID, distributed by Virgin Music Group. This incredible new track was co-produced by George Pond and David Caplinger.

Alongside the single, Swim the Current also premiered the official music video for “Concrete Angel."

STREAM "Concrete Angel"

The band's vocalist, Marcos Leal states, "'Concrete Angel' is a hard workers anthem, inspired by my father, my grandfather, my brothers, and all the guys who worked sun up to sun down to give me the opportunity to chase my dreams as a musician. This one is for my dad!!”

Bassist George Pond adds, “'Concrete Angel' is a reminder that even in the hardest days, there’s beauty in endurance and grace in getting back up. Our angels help us get through the day. It’s a blue-collar heartbeat — long days, hard roads, whiskey nights, and the stubborn will to carry on.”

Bringing together an all-star lineup of rock talents, including vocalist Marcos Leal(formerly of Ill Niño), bassist George Pond (Disciples of Verity), guitarist Greg Antine, drummer Chris Moore (George Lynch, Ultraphonix, Rock of Ages), and lead guitarist Joe Gareri, takes the band's sound to new heights.

WATCH the Official Music Video for "Concrete Angel" Below:

Having played in numerous bands throughout the years, Guitarist Greg Antine came to a point in his career where he wanted to branch out and write songs that had more depth and were inspired by his personal life experiences. Having worked with Bassist George Pond for several years in previous projects including, Disciples Of Verity, Greg expressed his concept for Swim The Current to George in hopes of collaborating with him on this new music venture. The two began to flesh out ideas in George’s home studio and realized quickly that they were on to something special, but still needed something more to see their ideas through to complete their concepts. Greg was introduced to Joe Gareri, Guitar/Keyboards, by George during the Disciples Of Verity debut album recording sessions which Joe is also featured on as a guest artist. The three of them immediately hit it off and worked extremely well together. Greg and George realized that Joe’s cinematic writing style would be a perfect match for their concepts and Joe was then brought in as a full time member. After two songs were completed and demo’d in George’s studio utilizing programmed drums, it was suggested by their friend Allyson Song River Jaynes, that they reach out to her friend, drummer Chris Moore of Ultraphonix, Rock Of Ages, to see if he would be interested in working with the project. Upon hearing the strength of songwriting and musicianship of the band, Chris was all in and signed on as the fourth full time member of STC and now the band, from an instrument’s perspective, was complete.

The final missing piece for STC was a lead vocalist who could capture the sound they envisioned for their music. After working in the studio with a few different vocalists, George ultimately reached out to his friend Marcos Leal, of legendary international touring band Ill Nino. Marcos loved the music of STC as well as having the freedom and creativity of writing lyrics for the project. After recording their first song together with Marcos, "We Are Not The Same", everyone new that this lineup was something special and Swim The Current was now complete! The release of "We Are Not The Same" took off instantly, and amassed thousands of streams, YouTube views and followers through a total organic DIY social media campaign.

Swim The Current’s sound is influenced and reminiscent of many of their favorite artists including, Deftones, Faith No More, Sevendust, POD, and Stabbing Westward. They continue to write new music and look forward to sharing their future releases with the world!

Pop Evil Releases Blistering New Single "The Decay"

To mark the one-year anniversary of their acclaimed album What Remains, Pop Evil announce the release of What Remains (Midnight Edition), arriving March 27, 2026.

The band’s new single, “The Decay,” is out today after premiering on SiriusXM Octane yesterday. The track is a riff-forward modern rock track with depth, melody, and staying power.

Regarding the release, Pop Evil shares, “In a world full of pain, lies, distractions, and half-truths, how easy is it to swallow venom dressed up as medicine without recognizing the damage being done? The choice to help or to hurt is ours. This song is raw, uncomfortable, and honest, an invitation to face the darkness, accept responsibility, and choose to make a difference while you still have time.”

To further reflect this mindset, the band made the conscious decision to forgo any use of AI in crafting the official visualizer. Directed by Sam Shapiro and produced by the skilled CGI team at VSRL Company, the visualizer reinforces the song’s core message: what we choose to create and support truly matters. Watch it below.

What Remains (Midnight Edition) expands the album’s powerful legacy with new material, including “The Decay” and a studio-refined reimagining of the iconic ’80s anthem “Don’t You (Forget About Me),” reimagined through Pop Evil’s unmistakable modern-rock lens.

Originally released as Pop Evil’s most uncompromising and emotionally exposed body of work to date, What Remains stands as both a sonic reckoning and a personal confession. Heavier, darker, and more direct than anything the band has released before, the album channels arena-ready modern rock and metal into a deeply introspective narrative, with frontman Leigh Kakaty laying bare the truths, scars, and battles that shaped both his life and the band’s e

With What Remains (Midnight Edition), Pop Evil completes a full creative arc, stripping away armor, confronting the past, and standing firmly in the present. It is a reckoning with who Leigh Kakaty was, who he is now, and who he’s determined to become. More than an anniversary release, the Midnight Edition solidifies What Remains as the definitive Pop Evil statement, unflinching, unapologetic, and impossible to ignore.

CHEMICAL EMPIRE Release Epic New Single “THIS ISN’T GONNA END THIS WAR”

Hard-hitting rock outfit CHEMICAL EMPIRE returns with a thunderous new single.

“This Isn’t Gonna End This War,” is fast, heavy, and unrelenting, built on chaotic energy that mirrors the volatility of a toxic relationship. The momentum never fully lets up, creating a constant sense of pressure and escalation as the conflict intensifies.

The bridge and solo serve as a decisive breaking point, delivering a moment of total impact that feels irreversible. Afterward, the song briefly pulls back into a controlled, crushing outro, where the chaos settles into acceptance rather than resolution. The conflict may never truly end, but the decision to stop fighting becomes final.

Lyrically, the track captures the realization that moving on is not about winning or closure, but survival. It reflects the moment when walking away becomes the only way forward.

“I was working on music when my girlfriend came into the room and completely set me off. As soon as she walked out, the song basically wrote itself. All that tension and frustration went straight into the track.” - Matt Smith

Known for blending modern hard rock aggression with emotionally charged songwriting, CHEMICAL EMPIRE continues to sharpen it's sound while refusing to dilute the message. “This Isn’t Gonna End This War” delivers a relentless sonic punch, pairing stadium-sized hooks with an underground edge that speaks directly to fans who crave authenticity and intensity.

BAND BIO:

CHEMICAL EMPIRE is an alternative metal project created by Matt Smith, built around fast, heavy music and emotionally driven songwriting. The project explores the darker realities of life, drawing from real experiences with conflict, isolation, and personal collapse.

Blending relentless aggression with controlled dynamics, CHEMICAL EMPIRE'S sound is intense and purposeful, balancing chaos with clarity. Lyrically, the music confronts toxic cycles, fractured relationships, and the realization that survival sometimes means moving forward rather than fighting back.

Rooted in honesty and emotional weight, CHEMICAL EMPIRE delivers heavy music that resonates with listeners who have lived through their own battles.

The release marks another bold step forward for the band, reinforcing their reputation as a rising force in the rock scene—unapologetic, unfiltered, and unwilling to back down.

“This Isn’t Gonna End This War” is available now on all major streaming platforms.

Sacto Alt Rockers Solely Veil Release Debut EP "REVERIE"

Sacramento-based alt hard rock band SOLELY VEIL have today released their new EP, REVERIE, via The Artery Foundation. It is the band's debut release.

Listen to the five-track EP here.

"REVERIE captures the feeling of being stuck between reality and the thoughts that keep you up at night," says the band's vocalist Allen Wheeler. about the EP as a whole. "Each song is a different part of that struggle. It's honest, uncomfortable, and exactly where we were when we wrote it."

Regarding the song "Static," Wheeler offers, "It's about the experience of being trapped in a dream-like state where the boundaries between reality and illusion collapse, as a malevolent entity seeks to assert control, leaving you unable to distinguish what is real from what is not." Listen below.

It's a heavy concept but it's one worth ruminating on via the song!

From Big Screen to Mosh Pit: Detroit Illharmonic Drops High-Octane Anthem "Who Loves You"

Detroit Illharmonic Symphony presents "Who Loves You", a highlight track from their new album "Everything Is Shattered". A deliberate exercise in contrast, this single blends a catchy, classic pop sensibility with a "mean and nasty" performance, capturing the energy of fun rock and roll while maintaining a gritty, powerful edge that pushes against its own sweet melodies.

The music video itself serves as a stylistic laboratory, bridging the gap between the band's musical and cinematic projects. Featured in the bold 2025 animated motion picture "I’d Rather Be Turned Into Cat Food". Written and directed by Walter Santucci and produced by Evil Cat Land (whose pedigree includes animation for MTV, Nickelodeon, ABC, Disney, Ice T, Margaret Cho, Cedric the Entertainer and Monty Python's Graham Chapman), this film does to cinema what punk rock did to music.

Not based in the Motor City, but Los Angeles, Detroit Illharmonic Symphony's core members are Cool Walt (bass, cello, guitar, piano), Raga Roni (samples, drum programming, turntables), Malyque Smith (rapping and turntables), Cecilia Suhr (violin, cello, piano) and Lukecage (piano, saxophone, drums). For this album, the band teamed up with southern California punk pioneers Jack Grisham (TSOL) and Keith Morris (Circle Jerks, Black Flag), among other guests.

"At its core musically, “Who Loves You” is total rock and roll nonsense.  Fun, melodic punk with words that SEEM to have deep meaning but actually don’t. And that’s the message: a deliberate F.U. to being normal. I wanted it to be catchy and have a classic pop feel to it, but I also wanted the band to play it mean and nasty; to have the performance contrast with the melody and create a really powerful record," says Cool Walt.

"The music video came about during the production of our feature film 'I’d Rather Be Turned Into Cat Food".  We were experimenting with animation styles, trying to find the right one for the movie, and decided to test some ideas out by making a video.  We’d just finished recording “Who Loves You” and decided to try out the “Cat Food” ideas in it, most notably the rapidly changing faces of the main character and the sketchy, rough line style."

It would be an understatement to say that the 'Everything Is Shattered' album is an ambitious project. Fusing elements of punk, indie rock, classical music, hip hop and soul, these are 14 tracks loaded with punk attitude, cinematic soundscapes, and hip hop swagger. This record is released by California's legendary Geza X Records, founded by the legendary producer Geza X, the sonic architect of West Coast punk, and engineer of seminal music by punk royalty—Dead Kennedys, The Germs, Black Flag, The Avengers, Redd Kross and The Weirdos.

Along with artists Tony Nittoli, Kristina Wong and John Andrews, best known for his work with MTV and for producing Beavis and Butthead, the film "I’d Rather Be Turned Into Cat Food" also features Jack Grisham and Keith Morris , who contributes vocals on “If You Cooperate”, a psychedelic surf-punk fever dream meets spaghetti-western soundtrack, with Cecilia Suhr on violin).

The lead track "Everything Is Shattered" sees Jack Grisham (from TSOL) joined by vocalist Max Galbreath (ttwopercentmilk). Produced and recorded by Paul Roessler (The Screamers, Nina Hagen, 45 Grave) at Kitten Robot Studios, this high-energy cinematic post-punk anthem has Bond-theme intensity. The accompanying video has toured the world, featured on the PBS television show "Music California" and has won four awards, most recently at the Los Angeles Animation Festival.

Presenting a wild mashup of punk, indie rock, hip hop, and cinematic chaos, this album brings to life fantasies of TSOL jamming with the Beastie Boys in a Quentin Tarantino movie. It's rich diversity is worth exploring. "You Have One Minute to Disperse" and “She’s Never Gonna Love Me” both features Malyque Smith on vocals. Diana Lynn appears on "Doo Doo On A Stick", where 70s soul merges with Sesame Street groove, while "Welcome to Fear City" — with Venetia Phillips on trumpet — paints hip-hop with a shade of 60s movie soundtrack cool.

Since 2001, Detroit Illharmonic has released nine albums and scores for several film and television projects. With an exciting and unique mix of symphonic instruments, samples, turntables and the involvement of various vocalists, their work has been featured at Brooklyn Academy of Music, REDCAT (LA), University of Chicago, Royce Hall (UCLA), University of Notre Dame, Cinema Detroit, and American Cinematheque. In 2014, the video for their song "It's a Lovely Day" toured with the 50th anniversary re-release of The Beatles' "A Hard Day's Night", screening in 20 cities across the USA. Many of their music videos have screened in cinemas internationally and have won multiple awards.

The 'Everything Is Shattered' album is out now, available everywhere digitally, including Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp. The title track single is also being released on 7" limited edition translucent blue vinyl record with the same cover art as the album!

Leah Blevins Goes "Diggin' In The Coal" on New Track

On the heels of recent releases “Be Careful Throwing Stones” and “All Dressed Up,” the title track from her Dan Auerbach-produced album, singer/songwriter Leah Blevins releases another taste of her Easy Eye Sound debut with latest track, “Diggin’ in the Coal” available today.

Written with Auerbach and Pat McLaughlin, “Diggin’ in the Coal” continues to showcase Blevins’ piercing vocal clarity, storytelling and unflinching emotional honesty with a dash of ‘70s retro glamour and sheen.

The new track follows recent releases “Be Careful Throwing Stones,” which Whiskey Riff called a “song that needs to be on your radar” and “All Dressed Up,” named a “hot new track” by Barnburner. The track marks the latest glimpse into the sonic landscape of her upcoming album, a timeless blend of Southern rock earthiness and pop-country shimmer, anchored by a twangy Karen Carpenter-esque vocal purity. Listen to “Diggin’ in the Coal” Below.

Pre-save All Dressed Up, set for release March 20, 2026, HERE.

With “Diggin’ in the Coal,” Blevins explores finding good things in dark places while evoking great grandfather/miner Cole Grove and their East Kentucky roots, going out of her way to hold hope even as she recognizes her own short-comings.

“My great grandfather and my granny worked in the coal mines of Kentucky,” shares Blevins. “I remember hearing stories growing up, and there was something about the ‘canary in a coal mine’ imagery that seemed ripe for a song about relationships to me...being a sounding board and support for each other even in dark times.”

With a chugging uptempo rhythm swaddled in pedal steel, “Diggin’ in the Coal” expands on the fresh yet nostalgic sound Blevins introduced with “Be Careful Throwing Stones” and All Dressed Up,” pairing emotional intelligence and heartache with quiet strength. Raised on the bluegrass-stained Kentucky country of Loretta Lynn, Patty Loveless, Dwight Yoakam and fellow Sandy Hook native Keith Whitley, Blevins continues a lineage of storytellers who understand the power of plainspoken truth.

In addition to the recent tracks, the official music video for “Be Careful Throwing Stones” premiered exclusively with Holler noting “the infectious, retro-tinged earworm has been elevated by a cinematic new music video.” Watch the official video HERE.

BLOOD OF ANGELS Release New Single “The Last Rites” and Announce Upcoming Album Les Agnst ov Thanatou

BLOOD OF ANGELS have unveiled their new single “The Last Rites”, offering a powerful first look into their forthcoming full-length album Les Agnst ov Thanatou, scheduled for release on June 21, 2026. Accompanied by an official lyric video, the single marks a pivotal chapter in the band’s most ambitious and emotionally driven work to date.

“The Last Rites” serves as a thematic cornerstone of Les Agnst ov Thanatou, a concept album centered on mortality, grief, ritual, and the psychological weight of loss. The song captures the moment where struggle gives way to ceremony, reflecting the human need for closure when confronting death. Musically, BLOOD OF ANGELS balance crushing aggression with deliberate structure, blending rhythmic groove, high-speed intensity, and melodic precision to create a track that is both forceful and reflective.

Lyrically, “The Last Rites” explores the stillness that follows life’s final breath. It examines fear, release, and remembrance, presenting death not as chaos, but as a passage shaped by ritual and reflection. The track stands as a transition point within the album’s narrative, preparing the listener for deeper psychological and emotional confrontations ahead.

Les Agnst ov Thanatou represents a significant evolution for BLOOD OF ANGELS. Written during a period marked by widespread uncertainty and personal loss, the album presents a unified narrative that traces humanity’s response to death through resistance, ritual, memory, and acceptance. Recorded at Underground Studios in Tampa, Florida, the album was produced by Bob Noxious, Preston DiCarlo, and BLOOD OF ANGELS, with mixing by Preston DiCarlo and mastering at Soundlab in New York City.
