LEAVES’ EYES open a new chapter in 2026 with the release of their upcoming EP Song Of Darkness! The band now unveils the title track and EP opener together with an epic new video, offering the first full glimpse into this next creative cycle.

Recorded at Mastersound Studio under the production of band mastermind Alexander Krull, the EP expands the group’s trademark fusion of orchestral depth and metallic intensity. It captures LEAVES’ EYES at a moment of artistic strength, balancing sweeping symphonic arrangements with an earthy, human pulse. Lyrically, Song Of Darkness travels along the shifting borders between myth, magic, and history. The title track itself draws inspiration from the medieval Icelandic saga of Gisli the Outlaw, leading listeners into a world of murder, intrigue, guilt-ridden dreams, and the hope for redemption.

Via Doloris Announces Debut Album Guerre et Paix

Via Doloris is rooted in an inward journey rather than orthodoxy. Conceived in solitude and shaped by discipline, composer and multi-instrumentalist Gildas Le Pape traces a restrained and introspective path through black metal’s formal foundations, guided by melody, atmosphere and emotional clarity. He’s joined by Frost, the legendary drummer of Satyricon and 1349, who provides a sense of persistence, grounded and unyielding.

About Paul Di'Anno's Warhorse:
The core of the band and founders are Paul Di'Anno, vocals, Hrvoje Madiraca, guitar and Ante Pupačić Pupi, guitar.

Paul Andrews, a British singer better known by his stage name Paul Di’Anno, his nearly half-century-long career began explosively with Iron Maiden, when with the EP ‘The Soundhouse Tapes’, and the albums ‘Iron Maiden’ and ‘Killers ‘ forever cemented the foundations of heavy metal. With timeless hits like ‘Iron Maiden’, ‘Remember Tomorrow’, ‘Running Free’, ‘Phantom of the Opera’, ‘Killers’, ‘Wratchild’, Murders in the Rue Morgue’, ‘Purgatory’ etc., they influenced numerous musicians and bands and were responsible for the creation or development of many subgenres in metal music.

Paul was known as one of the most productive singers, who had a huge number of albums and other releases behind him, either as a solo artist or a member of bands such as Gogmagog, Di’Anno’s Battlezone, Praying Mantis, Killers, Architects of Chaoz or Warhorse. In all his incarnations, Paul always knew how to find a way to the fans, with numerous hits, uncompromising singing, whichwas confirmed by his successful career and furious live shows around the world.

This icon of heavy metal with the heart of a punk rock rebel never spared himself in his life, but he always gave everything for music and fans, which is why they have followed him faithfully for almost fifty years.

Warhorse was the final original band/project of Paul Di’Anno. The first idea of forming a band arose in December 2021, when Paul and guitarist Hrvoje Madiraca met in Zagreb, Croatia. The formation and naming of this project happened simultaneously with the writing and recording of new songs, which were started immediately after Paul and Hrvoje joined hands and thus formed the band. Warhorse independently released the DVD single ‘Stop the War’ in a limited edition of 666 copies and sold it out in just a few days. This was followed by the fantastic ‘Stop the War’ lyric video, which delighted fans around the world. The Warhorse project gathered fantastic guest musicians on some songs. The core of the band itself is the three ‘horsemen’ Paul Di’Anno – vocals, Hrvoje Madiraca – guitars and Ante Pupačić Pupi – Guitars.

UADA Honors New Moon with Haunting Acoustic Version of "The Purging Fire"

Enigmatic black metal masters UADA are honoring the first new moon of 2026 with a very special track. The band is now unveiling a haunting neo-folk acoustic version of their seminal song, "The Purging Fire," from the band's critically-acclaimed 2018 full-length, 'Cult of a Dying Sun.' The moving version of the song can now be found along with a music video below.

The video was filmed and edited by Karl Whinnery and directed by Jake Superchi, with Evan Gandy serving as the co-director of photography.

UADA comments, "Following the first New Moon of the year, in the heart of the Wolf Moon cycle, it feels like an exceptional moment to present an unprecedented rendition from the UADA catalog.

"To re-create something in such a radically different and unique way was nothing short of a challenge—a challenge that had been calling for some time. One that demanded to be answered.

"Although the structural foundation of the piece was already in place, the execution itself unfolded as an impromptu session, allowing the natural essence to emerge freely and significantly.

"While we may have had preconceptions about how the musical and vocal interpretation might sound leading up to its (re)creation, everything transformed in the moment of realization, embracing a liberated state of “come what may.”

"Folk music and art have always been a profound influence, and even though this piece was recorded two and a half years ago, the presence of folk elements in our lives and writing feels more prominent today than ever before.

"Though we assume most may not fully grasp our necessity for this adaptation, we hope it will ignite a primal awakening within listeners—to seek the ancient ways and venture into a past that feels increasingly forgotten in the current state of the world."

In addition, UADA has joined forces with industrial metal artist MORTIIS for a very special co-headliner, featuring exclusive anniversary sets and supporting performances by Jerome Reuter’s ROME and WRAITH KNIGHT. UADA will be performing their seminal 2016 debut album 'Devoid of Light' in its entirety + a special CERMONIAL CASTINGS 30-year anniversary set featuring Wraith Knight. In addition, MORTIIS shall be performing songs from his groundbreaking 2001 full-length, 'The Smell Of Rain,' along with other volumes of dystopian despair. “We wanted ONLY HUMAN to be about something”, says vocalist Patrick Grønbæch Christensen, who also produced, mixed and mastered their debut album. “Planned Obsolescence is supposed to wake people up to all the ways technocracy is encroaching on society. We now live in a reality where humans are products to be consumed and disposed”.

Concept albums are standard procedure for metal, especially when it comes to the prog space. But when the five members of ONLY HUMAN came together via online and IRL connections, they wired the entire band’s framework around one encroaching idea. “Automata” surfs its synthetic grooves with clear command, as if by simply pressing a button. Though beneath its shining surface, the song processes the inherent danger in letting technology determine our individual thought patterns. During the music video, three thrill seekers follow guidance from their smartphone. Good times are had along the way, but tragically, they never stop to question whether it’s leading them to a dead end.

“We’ve offloaded critical thought”, Christensen explains. “We’re not really doing things because we want to do them. It’s because an algorithm has decided that’s what we should do”.

Planned Obsolescence is fueled by existential dread. Like a virus, electronic beats hack into the hard drive of “Automata”, much in the same way that technology continues to creep into our everyday lives. But that doesn’t mean that the album leaves us without hope. There’s nothing broken, outmoded or dated about ONLY HUMAN. When main-frame shaking riffs reduce the song to digital ash, their message rings out loud and clear. “Defy and learn to walk again”.

“When the world is going badly, the reason is because people gave up”, says Christensen. “Things aren’t hopeless. We can absolutely fight back. Hopefully, this album gets people to think about valuing humanity over profit”.

After all, there’s nothing broken, outmoded or dated about this new band. Unlike the attempts of artificial intelligence, their fusion of prog, djent, hard rock and electronic soundscapes is the product of much care and hard work. They had to tinker with several different versions before “Steep Descent” finally reached its climactic bridge. "Cast your flame beyond this bleak reality”, Christensen beckons as dizzying melodies and a stellar guitar solo propel him and his bandmates into the next stratosphere.

ANTIMOZDEBEAST is the extreme industrial and electronic black metal project of American composer and multi instrumentalist Gabriel Palacio, an artist whose life and work are shaped by equal parts suffering, persistence, and spiritual inquiry. Born in Queens, New York in 1985 with congenital heart disease, Gabriel underwent his first open heart surgery at age three and spent his childhood navigating both medical fragility and the intense religious expectations of a massive family rooted in Catholic tradition. His mother, once bound for a life as a nun, left the convent path to immigrate to the United States, where she raised Gabriel and his brother within a home steeped in devotion, ritual, and the tension between faith and individuality. Pennsylvania Indie rockers Robin Ross & The Melodynes share 'Echo of Love', a shimmering anthem of sonic intimacy

Pennsylvania outfit Robin Ross & The Melodynes welcome the new year with their new single 'Echo of Love', a rhythmic exercise in romantic resonance that captures the high-frequency hum of two souls colliding in perfect, melodic symmetry. A shimmering anthem of sonic intimacy, Ross frames true love as a permanent vibration—one that holds its ground long after the music stops.

This is the second offering from the band's sophomore 'Mind Space' album, forthcoming via RPM Entertainment, which was recorded at Baa Baa Leaf Music Studio on the Mountain in Milford, Pennsylvania. Ross produced and engineered this album, along with famed engineer Jonathan Duckett (Phillip Glass, Kenny G, David Sanborn).

"This is a song based on a very melodic rhythm that moves in sync with the echo of love. Love takes two to bounce feelings back and forth within your heart. Echoes from both hearts bounce until their rhythm collides and creates balance," says Robin Ross.

"Echoes far and near keep us together and will never be apart. You feel it when we hug, you feel it when I look at you. Vibrations keep us strong. Even when you are not around, the echoes vibrate our ground. Like two doves above, so is the Echo of Love."

Robin Ross & The Melodynes is not just about music - it's about big fun between like-minded artists, including Wharton Tiers, JoJo Ellen Gaetani, Katlyn Albrecht, Nancy Isola, TW Howell, Emery Rhodes, Joe (Bass) Torres and Tony Anniello. Their collective good vibes cannot help but seep into the music, carrying over to their listeners.

Earlier, the band shared the lead track 'Spill No Mo Wine', a fun-loving single born from a high-spirited gathering on Lake Huron. In the spirit of The B-52s and The Pretenders, this single flies straight from the bottle right to your dancing feet, capturing the energetic atmosphere of friendship and celebration, using a humorous mishap to explore resilience when life's plans briefly spill out of control.

With musical roots in New Jersey and New York dating back to 1988, Robin Ross has established himself in the bustling artistic community of Milford, PA, A musician, songwriter, and producer with diverse musical endeavours spanning over three decades, he has released numerous albums and played a pivotal role in creating several recording studios, including Triple R Studios and Sound Complex near NYC. Ross' current recording studio, Baa Baa Leaf Music Studio, continues to expand.

In 2025, Ross released 'Back To The Forest', the debut EP as Robin Ross & The TW Howlers, a songwriting project with storied folk-rock artist TW Howell, which received critical acclaim and airplay in dozens of countries.

In the early 1990s, Robin co-founded Laughing Jack, later rebranded as Jack’s Maze, acclaimed for a progressive rock sound reminiscent of Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin. Alas, life and business took him in a different direction. In 2021, Robin embarked on building Baa Baa Leaf Music Studio and also regrouped with Jack's Maze members Frank Cinquegrana, Scott Cowan, and Joe Torres to create new progressive rock albums. "'GASOLINE' is a story about that unquantifiable and confusing human bond you get with someone else," explains Charlie Rolfe. "That twin flame sensation, that mutual connection with an unknown person, almost like you were destined to be in each other's lives. During this song, it explores an explosive connection, the thought process, the denial in wanting it and the need to turn away from it, even though it feels wrong, you desperately try to keep hold of your life path, ignoring this fated sensation, how heartbreaking and soul-destroying it can be. This idea tied in so neatly with the concept of Count Dracula and Mina's relationship from Bram Stoker's Dracula, that otherworldly, toxic and destined love. Similar to 'Set In Flow,' we used the story to visually inspire the music video, to which shots from the video are homages to moments in the 1994 film."

DID YOU ASK TO BE SET FREE? is a deeply personal record shaped by grief, trauma, escapism and the slow, uncomfortable process of confronting reality. Written across a period of profound upheaval, the album documents a journey from emotional safety and creative flow into loss, numbness, and disorientation, before gradually finding movement again.

Framed around the idea of maladaptive daydreaming and fantasy as both refuge and trap, the songs explore addiction, self-sacrifice, burn-out, fractured relationships, and the question of whether freedom is something to be desired or feared. Drawing inspiration from cinema, literature, and subconscious writing, the record shifts sonically and lyrically as time passes, mirroring real change rather than resisting it. Descent was captured across two locations: Justin Passamonte tracked guitars, bass, and vocals at Jpass Music, while drums were recorded at Mercinary Studios with Noah Buchanan. The production was a collaborative effort between the band and long-time engineer Zack Ohren, who also handled the mixing and mastering. Red Reign will start the new year off right with two exciting announcements: an upcoming release of a live EP, while fans in the Anaheim, California area will soon get the opportunity to see the band live. On Thursday, January 22, 2026, Red Reign will be supporting Metal Allegiance at the House of Blues in Anaheim, California.

"We are beyond excited to be a part of, the Metal Allegiance show," the band said. "Not only do we get to perform in from of great musicians, but it will be our first time Red Reign will be on the west coast. Additionally, Red Reign will be attending the 2026 METAL HALL OF FAME at The Roxy in Los Angeles CA on Wednesday, January 21st, 2026. But live recording gives you a little more freedom to express the songs in a different manner."

Today, the Los Angeles, CA based heavy metal outfit LIGHTNING STRIKES have released a music video called “Fear of Unknown” from their upcoming sophomore album ‘The King Is Victorious’, which is set for release on February 18th. “Fear of Unknown” video is now available to watch Below:

Karpis spoke about the single “Fear of Unknown”, ““Fear of Unknown” is about the fear that can cripple your mind and can take your capabilities away if you are week minded, something that you don’t see, but that fear lives in your head and reminds you that your life can end at any point. Your brain can’t calculate why you are scared and as soon as you are getting weak and useless then fear of unknown will take you away.”

Karpis continues, “It was written by me mid 2021. I recorded the drum tracks about that time, then Barry Sparks came into the project, he was very excited and energized to be part of the project, he even made a compliment and said it’s sounds like Black Sabbath and he will do some Geezer Butler style bass. The song was finalized in early 2025 after Norifumi Shima recorded his guitar track and added his signature guitar solo. Then Mariano Gardella completed the lyrics and recorded his dream vocals by giving the song a very unique prespective. Finally, let’s not forget about the maestro on the keyboard, Derek Sherinian who I have worked with previously on my 1st album, he also came into project and added his signature keyboard tracks and solo.”

The bulk of the album was recorded by Maksudian, a Japanese guitar virtuoso, Norifumi Shima (CONCERTO MOON), American bassist extraordinaire, Barry Sparks (MSG, Yngwie Malmsteen), and up-and-coming Argentinian vocalist, Mariano Gardella, with keyboard maestro, Derek Sherinian (BLACK COUNTRY COMMUNION, SONS OF APOLLO), who guested on the group's debut album, also making an appearance.

Originally formed in 1984, LIGHTNING STRIKES were the first metal band to feature an all Armenian-American line-up, well over a decade before the arrival of SYSTEM OF A DOWN. Co-founder Maksudian revived the name with new personnel a quarter century after the initial breakup recording the group's self-titled 2016 full-length debut with Brazilian vocalist Nando Fernandes (SINISTRA, HANGAR), the aforementioned Rob Math and Derek Sherinian, and former BLACK SABBATH vocalist, Tony Martin, who sang on and wrote the lyrics to 'Death Valley' and '301 AD Sins of Our Fathers'. Mixed by Roy Z, the album was well received and peaked on the Japanese Burrn! Magazine import charts at number 6.

HIGHER POWER - release video for 'Count The Miles'

UK alt-hardcore quintet Higher Power have released a video for their track 'Count The Miles', ahead of their highly anticipated sold-out show, at Leeds Brudenell Social Club on Friday 16th January.

The band's third studio album, There's Love In This World If You Want It, was surprise released digitally in summer 2025 via Nuclear Blast Records.

Frontman Jimmy Wizard commented on the video:

Inner peace. That’s the aim for us all, isn’t it? Well, the truth is that it is always there waiting for you. You just need to work away a little bit to find it, digging deep and questioning yourself to get closer and closer to achieving that ultimate sense of personal zen. It may not always feel like the search is paying off, but there is always potential for that love, compassion and understanding of who you are to seep through. The journey may be challenging, but you’ll be glad that you took part in it in the end.

For Higher Power, that journey has seen them do things that, when they emerged onto the Yorkshire hardcore circuit in 2015, were never even on their radar. From their innocently frantic beginnings of emulating and celebrating legendary bands like Leeway and Merauder for a new generation, even playing their first two shows in the basement of the house owned by The Flexand at an early iteration of Outbreak Fest respectively, the ten years that have followed have seen them ride every ebb and flow that the music industry has to offer. From touring with everyone from Alexisonfire and Neck Deep to Knocked Loose and Angel Du$t to signing to Roadrunner Records for their sophomore full-length 27 Miles Underwater, they have achieved the sort of things that, up until recently, would never have been on the horizon of possibility for a hardcore band of their ilk. Yet, within experiencing the industry mechanics usually reserved for the highest echelons of rock royalty, they also realised they were drifting away from the things that made them want to do all of this in the first place.

The result of putting what feels right for them first is There’s Love In This World If You Want It, a record that encapsulates the Higher Power spirit in a way that only those whose hearts are truly entrenched in the band can produce. Peeling away layers of assumption and ideology placed upon them by others and focusing once more on the genre-splicing experimentation that inspired them to create together in the first place, they have produced nine songs that showcase exactly what they are made of in a screaming rainbow of colour.
