Axel Rudi Pell Announces New Album "Ghost Town" Out 3/20 + Shares Lyric Video for Title Track

You need neither encyclopedia nor satnav to enjoy the music of Bochum-based guitarist, composer, and band mastermind Axel Rudi Pell.

Because what applies to most successful musicians also goes for Pell: His songs are marked by his typical, unmistakable signature — a hybrid of powerful guitar riffs and catchy melodies, presented by a brilliant band consisting of American vocalist Johnny Gioeli, former Rainbow drummer Bobby Rondinelli, bassist Volker Krawczak, and keyboardist Ferdy Doernberg.

And although Pell has been wowing his fans with this impressive mix for well over 35 (!!!) years, his albums have always included a number of surprises and/or remarkable collaborations. His current studio offering, Ghost Town, is no exception. Axel Rudi Pell has added another 11 masterpieces to his long list of outstanding songs.

Among the songs one stands out: "Breaking Seals," featuring a sensational duet starring frontman Gioeli together with German metal legend Udo Dirkschneider. This collaboration is an absolute first in Pell's career and is additional proof of the great respect the guitarist enjoys among his fellow musicians.

Axel Rudi Pell produced the Ghost Town himself, with Tommy Geiger (Blind Guardian, Helloween), who was also in charge of the mix, providing valuable engineering support during the recording sessions at the Blind Guardian Studios in Grefrath.

The album's debut single "Ghost Town" is the perfect first representative of the new album: A haunting uptempo number, very catchy, very focused that brings to mind the style of early Rainbow classics.

Beauty in Chaos shares 'Get Down Moses', a Joe Strummer tribute from new 2-track single

The always revolving, ever-evolving entity Beauty In Chaos presents 'Get Down Moses' from their latest double A-side single 'God's Gonna Cut You Down / Get Down Moses'.  This newest offering is BIC's own rendition of this much-loved Joe Strummer classic, the video for which was filmed and directed by Vicente Cordero (Industrialism Films).

Produced by Grammy-nominated producer Michael Rozon (Ministry, Jarboe, Wayne Hussey, The Melvins), this single was released via Los Angeles-based boutique imprint 33.3 Music Collective. BIC earlier shared the video for their enveloping, smokey rendition of the traditional gospel hymn 'God’s Gonna Cut You Down', popularized by Mr. Johnny Cash.

BIC curator Michael Ciravolo takes on duties as lead vocalist on both tracks in this release, in addition to guitars and percussion. On this track, he is joined by Rozon (bass, drum programming, synths, backing vocals) with backing vocals by Tish Ciravolo and Whitney Tai.

“As with 'God’s Gonna Cut You Down', I felt a spiritual calling to do this particular song. I think Joe’s lyrics are certainly "timely" and just as socially important as anything he ever did with The Clash," says Michael Ciravolo.

“We filmed this the day after we shot “God’s Gonna Cut you Down”, so it was nice to swing the pendulum to something a bit lighter. While this video looks like it was fun to make, it was certainly not meant to lessen the sting of Joe’s lyrical attack on governments, oppression and the Catholic church.  My ‘1977’ shirt, which I am sure Clash fans will notice, is my personal tribute to Joe Strummer”.

Beauty In Chaos has come a long way since LA-based guitarist Michael Ciravolo(formerly of Human Drama and Gene Loves Jezebel and current President of Schecter Guitars) launched this project in 2018. Over the years, BIC has involved members of The Cure, Ministry, Cheap Trick, The Offspring, Gene Loves Jezebel, Marilyn Manson, Human Drama, Bauhaus, Nine Inch Nails, Van Halen, A Flock of Seagulls and dUg Pinnick, ICE-T, Rolan Bolan and Zakk Wylde, among other luminaries.

The new single is available everywhere digitally, including Bandcamp and Beauty In Chaos' storewhere their latest two albums -- 'Dancing With Angels' and the remix companion ‘Signs In The Heavens Reality Upside Down’ -- can also be found.

Singer/Songwriter Adam Mac Sells Out Return to His Hometown

Fresh off being named Billboard’s Country Rookie of the Month in Nov. and the release of his acclaimed third studio album Southern Spectacle in Oct., rising country singer/songwriter Adam Mac delivered true Southern spectacle last night with a sold-out hometown performance at The Loft in Russellville, KY to celebrate his new album’s release.

The show marked a full-circle moment for the Kentucky native as the appearance was his first performance in his conservative hometown since being scheduled to headline the Logan County Tobacco and Heritage Festival in 2023 when he withdrew from the festival following backlash from local pastors which sparked national headlines and inspired his latest album. A portion of proceeds from last night’s ticket sales went to the local Isaiah 117 House, a safe and home-like place for children entering the foster care system.

His strength in the face of hate drew support from fans, hometown friends and celebrities alike – including Maren Morris, Kelsea Ballerini and Brandy Clark. And he was greeted by that same love and support last night with a packed room of family, friends, longtime supporters and new fans. The man dubbed “country music’s very own Elton John” by PEOPLE, turned The Loft into a joyful, glitter and sequin-soaked homecoming celebrating the very roots that shaped his story.

Holler previously noted that “it’s no wonder his fans have started calling him ‘cowBoy George,’” and Tuesday night, Mac lived up to the reputation pairing spectacular showmanship with the heartfelt vulnerability that defines Southern Spectacle. The set featured album standouts including “Old Photograph,” which he performed during his national TV debut on The Kelly Clarkson Show in Oct., as well as fan favorites “All Dollars, No Sense,” title track “Southern Spectacle,” “Dust Off Your Boots,” and his breakout hit “Disco Cowboy.”

Declared “fearless” by Pride.com, Mac continues to carve out his own lane in country music, fusing rich Southern storytelling with modern pop energy and unapologetic self-expression. Southern Spectacle, produced by Jason Mater with additional production by Sean Trainor, Warren Riker and HALLIE, has been praised for its boldness and honesty, with Billboard calling “All Dollars, No Sense” a “must-hear” and Pride.com celebrating the track as “the definition of queer joy,” while Entertainment Focus called the album “a fearless fusion of country, pop and pride” and Rainbow Rodeo declared “if there’s one queer record that needs to make every year-end list, it’s this one.” Listen to Southern Spectacle Below.

“Coming back to my hometown to share the album inspired by what happened here in 2023 was so healing,” said Mac. “That moment showed me both the work still to be done as queer artists and the power of continuing to show up as your most authentic self. To stand on a stage in my hometown last night, with a sold-out crowd cheering on all this Southern Spectacle, is a testament to how far we’ve come and where we’re going.”

Raised in Russellville as a church-and-farm kid who adored The Spice Girls and Shania Twain, Mac long felt like an outsider in his conservative community. His path toward embracing his identity and his distinctive artistry became the core of Southern Spectacle, a project he describes as “bold, vulnerable and the most authentic I’ve ever been on a record.” The album builds on the world introduced with his breakthrough Disco Cowboy era, blending vocal soul, dancefloor-ready country-pop, and vibrant self-acceptance.

Last night’s sold-out hometown show not only celebrated his return but also underscored Mac’s growing influence as a visible queer voice in modern country. With his magnetic presence, signature flair and message of joy, he continues to prove that there is room for every kind of story within the genre.

The Mendenhall Experiment Release New EP 'Chasing Ghosts'

From Southern California skies, The Mendenhall Experiment unleashes their new Chasing Ghosts EP — seven visceral tracks forged in fire, grit, and heart. Founded by Brandon Mendenhall, a guitarist born with cerebral palsy who refused every “you can’t,” this band transforms limitation into raw power. Joined by Nathan Stockton (legally blind & deaf) and a full-tilt lineup, they harness metal’s roar to shatter stereotypes and raise disability awareness. This EP is music for the bold, for the outsiders, for anyone daring to seize the day. The EP released today via Lucent Records distributed by Tuff Gong International.

Produced by acclaimed producer Chris Collier (Korn, Prong, Metal Church) and executive produced by Brandon Mendenhall and The Mendenhall Experiment, Chasing Ghosts delivers the band’s signature blend of crushing riffs, soaring melodies, and authentic emotion.

“'Chasing Ghosts' is a collection of singles from our first two Ep’s 2017’s 'The Mendenhall Experiment' (self titled) and 2022’s 'Against All Odds'. We wanted to put all these songs together on a proper release, so that the fans can find these jams in one place and take them home. Some are deep cuts, some are brand new never before heard, some are fan favorites. In short, 'Chasing Ghosts' takes you on the journey that is The Mendenhall Experiment, Past, Present, and even a glimpse into the Future,” shares Brandon Mendenhall.

The band received another Danny Award from Daniel’s Music Foundation for the 6th Annual Danny Awards in NYC on October 25th 2025.

Chasing Ghosts is avialable now on all major streaming platforms.

Formed in 2008 and based in Southern California, The Mendenhall Experiment (TMX)was born as Brandon Mendenhall’s own personal aspiration to be in a world-famous band while working within the limitations of Cerebral Palsy, knowing full well that the cards were stacked against finding musicians willing to work with him. Born with Cerebral Palsy, an incurable neurological disorder affecting movement, coordination and, balance; Brandon faces numerous challenges. With limited movement on his left side and zero mobility in his left hand, the odds were stacked against him from birth. However, inspired by acts such as Korn and Pantera, Brandon taught himself how to play guitar at the age of 19, rehabilitating his left hand without surgical intervention.

The Mendenhall Experiment has been regularly performing on the infamous Sunset Strip in addition to gigs throughout the region opening for the likes of such metal mainstays as John 5, POD, Alien Ant Farm, Kill Devil Hill, Fear Factory, Prong, Flaw, Metal Allegiance, Smile Empty Soul, Cold, and more. In 2022 TMX received an award from Daniel’s Music Foundation in recognition of their continuing efforts to raise disability awareness in the music industry and performed to a sold-out audience at the award ceremony which took place at the Symphony Space Performing Arts Center on Broadway in New York City. In 2023 TMX signed with Satellite Touring and embarked on five national tours alongside artists such as Influence, Scream At The Sky and Andrew W. Boss

The Mendenhall Experiment is currently sponsored by Monster Energy, Ibanez Guitars, EMG Pickups, EVH Amplifiers, Evertune Bridges, and InTune Guitar Picks.

The Mendenhall Experiment is:
Brandon Mendenhall - Rhythm Guitarist
Mario Valadez - Vocalist
Nathan Stockton - Bassist
Cameron B. Casey - Percussionist

STABBING Unleashes Official Video for Pummeling New Single, "Eon Of Obscenity"

Brutal death metal rising stars STABBING are now unleashing the pummeling title track from their upcoming sophomore album, 'Eon Of Obscenity.' The furious aural attack can now be found along with a music video below.

STABBING comments, "The lyrics in 'Eon' are mainly about the idea that someone with homicidal tendencies could hide it for years, and then one day just snap, and nobody in their life would ever see it coming. Like they decide to embrace their sickness and completely lose all morality.”

STABBING does not merely define the term “Brutal Death Metal," they exceed it. The Houston Texas newcomers have plundered the crypts of claustrophobia and darkness, only to surface with 'Eon of Obscenity,' STABBING’s Century Media debut and a benchmark for modern death metal.

'Eon of Obscenity' is due on January 30, 2026 via Century Media Records and can now be pre-ordered HERE.

STABBING does not merely define the term, “Brutal Death Metal” - they exceed it. The Houston Texas foursome has plundered the crypts of claustrophobia and darkness, only to surface with Eon of Obscenity, STABBING’s Century Media debut and a benchmark for modern death metal. “It’s just more extreme,” says vocalist Bridget Lynch, when asked to define the band’s infernal sub-genre, Brutal Death Metal (AKA B.D.M.). “It’s everything that’s extreme about death metal, just taken a little bit further. The vocals. The drums. The riffs. It’s just faster and more boundary-pushing.”

When STABBING came together in 2021, the goals were simple. “We were really just having fun and wanted to emulate the style of the bands we really liked,” says Lynch. “Old school 90’s and early 2000’s brutal death metal bands like. Disgorge, Deeds of Flesh, stuff like that.” Coming from local bands and projects including guitarist Marvin Ruiz’s Nephilim Grinder and Dysmetria with Lynch dabbling in area grindcore outfits, from their first demo and 2021’s Ravenous Psychotic Onslaught EP, it was clear that STABBING was immediately pushing boundaries. On the road they distinguished themselves, giving tour mates including Defeated Sanity more than a run for their money. Not only was STABBING a bloody, clear-cut step above most, they wrapped it all in songs and blistering live performances that were as memorable as they were bellicose and brutal.

STABBING’s reckoning moment came in November 2023, as first band on for the “Ancient Unholy Rising Tour” with co-headliners Incantation and band favorites, Suffocation. Not only had STABBING’s lineup begun to solidify with then newly joined bassist Matt Day, but when Suffocation vocalist Ricky Meyers had fallen ill and had to miss a string of shows, it was Lynch who stepped in to save the day. STABBING’s vocalist simply took the stage with the New York death metal legends and gave the absent Meyers a run for his guttural money. “That was one of the coolest things I’ve ever gotten to do,” states Bridget. “Suffocation was one of the first death metal bands I ever got into as a fan, so jumping onstage and blasting through maybe six songs was a crazy moment. I was terrified when they asked!”

It was also on that tour that the band also caught the ear of Century Media Records who inked the band several months later. With a string of shows in 2023 and 2024 including landmark appearances at the celebrated Maryland Deathfest and Milwaukee Metalfest, as well as a U.S. tour with 200 Stab Wounds, Ruiz (who also plays with Texas Brutal Death Metal, OG’s Devourment) started putting together riffs that would serve as the foundation of Eon of Obscenity. Compared to Stabbing’s more primal origins, Eon of Obscenity. is a clearcut next step that elevates not only the band, but the genre itself. From the outset of opener, “Rotting Eternal” straight into “Inhuman Torture Chamber”, which showcases Lynch’s inhuman vocal prowess and ability to shift gears from the guttural to something chittering that barely registers as human, STABBING have taken their brutal arts to new heights. Even the album’s instrumental inclusion, “Ruminations” shows an unexpected technicality as riffs and time-signatures coalesce in unexpected ways.

Recorded at Houston’s Southwing Audio by engineer Ben Gott with Chris Kritikos mixing and mastering, the production of Eon of Obscenity is as strident as the music itself. It’s eleven tracks that are as raw as they are extreme. “It feels more refined,” says the vocalist. “The album shows the potential of what the band started as. It’s not overly produced. There’s not a lot of effects or over-editing. We wanted to keep the raw sound that the classic bands had. We wanted to go for that, for something very honest and very us.” The album title itself also ties into Eon of Obscenity being not merely a second album from STABBING but a massive step forward.

“It’s representative of this being a new era for the band,” Lynch states. “An improvement of the STABBING sound and us as musicians. On the last album [2022’s Extirpated Mortal Process], I wasn’t really happy with what I did vocally," she admits, "And I really wanted to really improve. One of my favorite songs on the album is called ‘Reborn to Kill Once More’, which sums up how good and how strong we feel about the band and the album now.”

Being one of the rare female voices in modern death metal isn’t lost on Bridget. She’s quick to admit that she approaches lyrics and delivery in a way that differs from most. “When I was in high school, first getting into brutal death metal, I discovered the band, Cerebral Bore” she recounts. “When I saw that they had a female singer, I was like, ‘What the hell?’ I was like, I have to be that! I had to emulate her. I was so inspired. My hope is that when people, particularly younger girls hear STABBING for the first time, we have that same effect on them.

“It’s pretty obvious that metal, in general, has been pretty male dominated,” Lynch states. “I won’t really entertain the misogyny of brutal death metal in what we do, for obvious reasons. I try to turn it around. One of our older songs is about the first female serial killer I ever read about, Aileen Wournos. If you look at other female-led death metal bands like Castrator or Emasculator, they also try to turn the tables and present things from a different perspective.”

With Eon of Obscenity, the Texas four-piece have delivered on everything their earlier releases and live shows have hinted at. B.D.M. has an unmistakably brutal new voice and it is STABBING. “I never expected it, there is a new wave of slam bands and brutal death metal bands,” says Bridget. “But I never thought people would think of us as an important band to that or any other scene! We have younger bands come up to us all the time and say, ‘Your first demo really inspired us,’ and that blows my mind. I never thought my brutal death metal band would have that kind of impact.”

Unverkalt Announce New Album Héréditaire (featuring Sakis Tolis)

While they’ve always pushed the intricate balance that defines post-metal, Unverkalt are now plummeting over the edge into the black below. Their upcoming third album and first since signing with Season of Mist descends into humanity’s deepest and darkest origins. Héréditaire lifts the veil from our cursed existence. What emerges is the band’s heaviest and most heartfelt offering.

“Our aim has always been to blend softer, more romantic elements with extreme chaos. With Héréditaire, that time has come”, says Unverkalt’s guitarist and chief composer Themis Ioannou. “This album is a lament for what is far older than our very existence. It speaks of what seeps through generations, searching for an answer to one pervasive question: What do we carry that was never ours?”

As they begin this dark descent, today, Unverkalt are releasing a haunting video for the stirring lead single from Héréditaire. Though it starts as a slow burn, album opener “Die Auslöschung” emerges from the envoloping haze as the band’s first song to pair Dimitra Kalavrezou’s heavenly cleans with hellish harsh vocals.

“‘Die Auslöschung’ is both bleak and immersive”, Kalavrezou says. “Carved in blackened textures and hypnotic pacing, the song channels both personal and collective collapse, setting the tone for what is to come”.

Watch the video for “Die Auslöschung” Below:

Héréditaire comes out February 27, 2026 on Season of Mist.

Unverkalt are still possessed by a cinematic vision. “Die Auslöschung” opens Héréditaire like a camera coming into focus. However, though rendered in crisp detail, the scene that the band paints is bleak. Beneath a smoldering bass line, riffs rise like smoke from freshly scattered ashes. “When did this darkness fall?” Kalavrezou sings as if trying to climb out of the shadowed rubble.

On previous albums, Unverkalt took cues from French painting and European film noir, but Héréditaire throws back the velvet curtain in favor a veil. “Die Auslöschung” begins to peel back the blackened layers of traumatic memories that are passed down to us like a disease. “He said enter the wide gate and walk the easy path to destruction”. As the pounding drums give way to a fiery stream of blast beats, Kalavrezou breaks into a scream so piercing it can be felt all across our shared history.

“I enjoy discovering new, unique and compelling music in today’s overwhelming world of information, and I believe I truly succeeded with Unverkalt”, says Season of Mist labelmate and Rotting Christ frontman Sakis Tolis, who’s featured on the monolithic “I, The Deceit” from Héréditaire. “This is an exceptional piece of art, worth every minute of listening”.

Catch Unverkalt in Suttgart, Germany early next year when they co-headline Club Zentral with Hippotraktor.

Lowsunday releases 'Low Sunday Ghost Machine - White EP', first record of all-new material in 25 years

Projekt Records artist Lowsunday emerges with their first record comprised of all-new material since 1999, bridging three decades of distinct sonic legacy. The 'Low Sunday Ghost Machine - White EP' delves into emotional isolation, this music laced with a counterbalance of escapism, dreamlike sounds, drones and feedback, with carefully-placed classic song structures with melodic hooks. This is the first of a two-EP series being released via Projekt.

Based in Pittsburgh, Lowsunday is now a duo made up of Shane Sahene (vocals, guitar, synth, bass, drums) and Bobby Spell (bass, guitar, drums), this EP serving as both a reflection and a resurgence. The band also presents their new video for 'Love Language'.

Blurring the lines between post-punk, shoegaze, dreampop, and darkwave since 1994, Lowsunday brings something new to the music scene, treading sonic waters with screeching guitars and layer upon layer of arsenic-laced melodies, crowned with bittersweet and emotive vocals. From quiet intensity to sweeping sonic landscapes, Lowsunday makes a welcome return with their retro-futurist daydream.

The 'White EP' demonstrates a connection to the band’s history while showcasing a natural expansion that builds upon guitar-driven atmospheres, synth textures, emotive vocals and stripped down drum beats. A confident return to form that explores darker yet more expansive sonic territory, at times, they push atmospheres to the limits of noise and, at more delicate moments, into a dream pop air of deeper melancholia.

Sahene and Spell distill years of sonic exploration and inspiration into this release. Lyrically and sonically, these songs use classic post-punk rhythms and atmospheric layers to express simple, fundamental emotion.

This five-track EP arrives on the trail of the extended 30th anniversary remaster of their debut album 'Low Sunday Ghost Machine' a 2-CD feast recorded at the height of their ascent. The original nine tracks are complemented by a second disc with seven unreleased tracks, remixes and reinterpretations. Projekt also released the 25th anniversary remaster of their sophomore album 'Elesgiem' in 2024.

The 'Low Sunday Ghost Machine - White EP' is out now digitally everywhere, including SpotifyApple Music and Bandcamp, and as a five-song vinyl release, limited to 200 copies. The 'Low Sunday Ghost Machine' reissue and Lowsunday's limited edition 7" of 'Static / Besides' can also be found on these platforms.

Detroit Illharmonic Symphony releases 'Everything Is Shattered' album feat. punk pioneers from TSOL, Circle Jerks & Black Flag

Detroit Illharmonic Symphony presents their new album "Everything Is Shattered" — a wild mashup of punk, indie rock, hip hop, and cinematic chaos that involves southern California punk pioneers Jack Grisham (TSOL) and Keith Morris (Circle Jerks, Black Flag), among others. This 14-track collection comes to us straight from California's legendary Geza X Records.

The lead track "Everything Is Shattered" sees Jack Grisham (from TSOL) joined by future superstar Max Galbreath (ttwopercentmilk) on vocals. Produced and recorded by Paul Roessler (The Screamers, Nina Hagen, 45 Grave) at Kitten Robot Studios, this is a high-energy cinematic post-punk anthem with Bond-theme intensity. The accompanying video has toured around the world, was featured on the PBS television show "Music California" and has won four awards, the most recent received this week at the Los Angeles Animation Festival.

Keith Morris of Circle Jerks and originally Black Flag, contributes vocals on “If You Cooperate”, a psychedelic surf-punk fever dream meets spaghetti-western soundtrack, with Cecilia Suhr on violin. These two songs and others on this album are from the bold 2025 animated motion picture "I’d Rather Be Turned Into Cat Food", featuring both Grisham and Morris, along with artists Tony Nittoli, Kristina Wong and John Andrews, best known for his work with MTV and for producing Beavis and Butthead.

Written and directed by Walter Santucci and produced by Evil Cat Land (whose pedigree includes animation for MTV, Nickelodeon, ABC, Disney, Ice T, Margaret Cho, Cedric the Entertainer and Monty Python's Graham Chapman), this film does to cinema what punk rock did to music.

Detroit Illharmonic Symphony is not based in the Motor City but rather in Los Angeles (with some members also further afield). Fusing elements of punk, indie rock, classical music, hip hop and soul, “Everything Is Shattered” is an album loaded with punk attitude, cinematic soundscapes, and hip hop swagger — the stuff that unique, left-of-center playlists are made of.

This latest record brings to life fantasies of TSOL jamming with the Beastie Boys in a Quentin Tarantino movie. At the same time, there is a rich diversity here worth exploring, as seen on "You Have One Minute to Disperse" and “She’s Never Gonna Love Me”, both of which features Malyque Smith on vocals. Diana Lynn appears on "Doo Doo On A Stick", where 70s soul merges with Sesame Street groove, while "Welcome to Fear City" — with Venetia Phillips on trumpet — paints hip-hop with a shade of 60s movie soundtrack cool.

While the five core members are Cool Walt (bass, cello, guitar, piano), Raga Roni(samples, drum programming, turntables), Malyque Smith (rapping and turntables), Cecilia Suhr (violin, cello, piano) and Lukecage (piano, saxophone, drums), the group's line up is constantly changing.

Since 2001, Detroit Illharmonic has released nine albums and scores for several film and television projects. With an exciting and unique mix of symphonic instruments, samples, turntables and the involvement of various vocalists, their work has been featured at Brooklyn Academy of Music, REDCAT (LA), University of Chicago, Royce Hall (UCLA), University of Notre Dame, Cinema Detroit, and American Cinematheque. In 2014, the video for their song "It's a Lovely Day" toured with the 50th anniversary re-release of The Beatles' "A Hard Day's Night", screening in 20 cities across the USA. Many of their music videos have screened in cinemas internationally and have won multiple awards.

Geza X Records is an imprint founded by legendary producer Geza X, whose legacy as the sonic architect of West Coast punk involves engineering seminal music by punk royalty—Dead Kennedys, The Germs, Black Flag, The Avengers, Redd Kross and The Weirdos. Geza X Records still works with radical new artists, continuing to defy convention and release unique, genre-bending music.

The 'Everything Is Shattered' album is out now, available everywhere digitally, including Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp. The title track single is also being released on 7" limited edition translucent blue vinyl record with the same cover art as the album!

Jagged City (feat. Defeater, ex-Explosions In The Sky) Reveal Debut Single + EP // Share "Imaginary Lines" Video

Post-rock trio Jagged City, featuring Jake Woodruff (Defeater) and Carlos Torres (former touring member of Explosions In The Sky) have unveiled their debut single "Imaginary Lines." They have also announced their debut EP, There Are More of Us, Always, to be released on January 30 via Pelagic Records.

Watch the "Imaginary Lines" video Below.

Stream the single here.

There Are More of Us, Always is a bold collection that moves between spacious, melodic guitar passages and raucous, swelling climbs. With heartfelt, melodious songwriting, a diverse range of eclectic touches buried within, and eruptions of dense, layered sound, this record delivers wonderfully balanced compositions through raw and personal production.

The project began as a cross-continental art experiment between Woodruff and Torres. What started as a simple exchange of ideas quickly found real shape through collaborative composition and thoughtful arrangement. Early sessions with David Haik helped refine the songs' structures and drum frameworks, setting the groundwork for what would become Jagged City's striking debut.

"We wrote with pure instinct, just tried to add something new to a genre that we love. As we traded ideas, we took some left turns and incorporated elements that may be unexpected," comments Woodruff.

When it came time to record, scheduling issues led to an inspired change of plans. Urian Hackney joined the project both behind the kit and behind the board, engineering and performing the drum parts that propel the record. In two intense days at The Box studio in Burlington, VT, Jake and Urian captured the core of the album with an immediacy and urgency that remain audible in every take.

Carlos recorded bass in Los Angeles alongside longtime musical colleague Michael James (Explosions In The Sky), while Jake added further guitar textures from his home studio, creating layers that thread the compositions together.

This debut is both a statement of intent and an open invitation: Jagged City offer music that rewards close listening and communal experience—an instrumental journey shaped by collaboration and a fierce commitment to feeling. While still post-rock, There Are More of Us, Always utilizes a diverse range of influence, giving a freshness to each uniquely realized track.

"This record is a product of collaboration and love and creativity - we hope it inspires people to be connected and think collaboratively and creatively together. That's the only way forward." concludes Woodruff.

Alkaloid Break with Metal Tradition on Faithful Performance of New Single "Agnus Dei"

They've already redefined the very composition of progressive death metal, but on their upcoming live album, Alkaloid conduct a one-of-a-kind experiment that only a true maestro can perform. Joined on stage by an award-winning ensemble, on Bach Out of Bounds, the supergroup bring the revered classical composer in conversation with the heaviest of underground arts.

Today, Alkaloid are releasing the second advanced single from Bach Out of Bounds. While honoring the otherworldly power of Bach's original offering, the band's performance of "Agnus Dei" breaks from metal's traditions.

"This is the most faithful interpretation of Bach on our new live album", vocalist, guitarist and primary composer Morean says. "It's a serene, fragile sound world hitherto unexplored by Alkaloid".

Watch Alkaloid perform "Agnus Dei" below:

Across three studio albums, Alkaloid have experimented with worldly polyrhythms, brutally technical riffing, infectious choruses and sci-fi concepts built in honor of Lovecraftian entities. The band remain curious as ever on Bach Out Of Bounds, though even the brains behind their first-ever live album is shocked by its latest creation. "Agnus Dei" began life as a prayer back in the 5th century before Johann Sebastian Bach arranged it as the fourth movement of "Mass in B minor", his final masterpiece.

"It's quite the departure", says Morean, who the Bachfestival in Dordrecht invited for this performance. "Bach Out of Bounds is very different from what other metal bands - or even Alkaloid - normally do".

While it stems from a place of worship that's far removed from metal's underground crypts, Alkaloid's performance of "Agnus Dei" is a stroke of divine inspiration. The guitars wisely bow to the quiet command of the string section, ceding the spotlight to soprano Rianne Wilbers. Blessed with grace and gravitas, her voice transcends to a higher realm that's not of any genre nor this Earth.

"Like all of the guests who accompanied Alkaloid for Bach Out Of Bounds, Rianne is a true wanderer between worlds", Morean says. "After a youth in metal, she acquired an impeccable pedigree in the Netherlands as a performer of traditional and contemporary classical music. She sings 'Agnus Dei' so beautifully. She really knows how to sing Bach".

The video for "Agnus Dei" was compiled from footage filmed live during performances at the 2024 Bachfestival in Dordrecht, Netherlands, Paard van Troject in The Hague and November Music in Den Bosch. It was created by Thomas Niehof / Creative Headroom & Lindy Balduk Photography.

With Bach Out of Bounds, Alkaloid deliver a classically innovative performance as only a true maestro can.

REDIVIDER Unleash New Single "Bask in the Rot" Ahead of Upcoming Album Sounds of Malice

Death metal powerhouse REDIVIDER returns with a crushing new single, "Bask in the Rot", the latest preview of their forthcoming full-length album Sounds of Malice, arriving January 9, 2026 through Third House Communications.

Inspired by the iconic Dungeons & Dragons monstrosity, the Gelatinous Cube, "Bask in the Rot" paints a visceral portrait of an ever-growing mass of rotting flesh and sewage, a mindless organism that kills and consumes solely to sustain itself. The band describes the creature as a pile of rotting flesh and sewage that grows with each kill, with no motive other than to consume and stay alive. This sense of creeping inevitability informs the entire track.

From its earliest stages, "Bask in the Rot" was built around a unique vocal cadence that shaped the instrumentation. The guitars and drums were written directly to that rhythmic blueprint in order to create a sense of push and pull through each verse. The result is a combination of sludgy, punishing riffs and heavy, groove-driven percussion with vocals that cut through the mix and capture the relentless growth of the creature that inspired the song.

During the writing process, REDIVIDER were listening to a significant amount of MORBID ANGEL, particularly drawing influence from the track "Where the Slime Lives". "Bask in the Rot" stands as their interpretation of that thick and suffocating atmosphere, reshaped into something uniquely their own.

Sounds of Malice represents an evolution in REDIVIDER's sound, delivering darker themes and heavier sonic depth. With "Bask in the Rot", the band offers a powerful indication of what awaits on the full record.

About REDIVIDER:

REDIVIDER is a death metal band from Louisville, Kentucky, formed in 2021 by vocalist Jacob Spencer and guitarist Paul Nunavath. Joined by guitarist Jake Atha and bassist Alexander Farrington, the band draws influence from the early Florida death metal scene and bands like CANNIBAL CORPSE, MORBID ANGEL, DEATH, and GORGUTS. With a sound rooted in old school brutality and layered with modern aggression, REDIVIDER combines guttural vocals, dissonant riffs, and relentless groove to create music that is both violent and immersive.

The band made their live debut in 2022 and quickly gained recognition in the underground scene, sharing stages with acts such as CREEPING DEATH, CRYPTA, MASACRE, COGNITIVE, and SEE YOU NEXT TUESDAY. Their debut album Sounds of Malice is a conceptually rich, sonically punishing record that blends fantasy-driven storytelling with crushing heaviness. Written with live performance in mind, REDIVIDER’s music thrives on tension, rhythm, and unapologetic intensity, death metal built to be felt as much as heard.

REDIVIDER Lineup:

  • Jacob Spencer – Vocals

  • Paul Nunavath – Guitar

  • Jake Atha – Guitar

  • Alexander Farrington – Bass

  • Mike Hargrave – Drums (live)

EMBERS OF DAWN Announce New Single “Shadow of Her Veil” From Their Forthcoming Album Due Later in 2026

EMBERS OF DAWN unveil their newest single “Shadow of Her Veil” a track that walks the line between heavy gothic rock and doom metal with a sound that feels both timeless and unrelenting. Early listeners have compared it to a modern day SISTERS OF MERCY tune, capturing a haunting blend of gothic atmosphere and doom driven weight. Echoes of TYPE O NEGATIVE and PARADISE LOST also pulse through the track, creating a dark immersive soundscape that lingers long after the final note.

“Shadow of Her Veil” explores themes of sorrow, reflection, and heavy beauty. Lyrically, the song delves into the feeling of being haunted by the past by memories by expectations and by the versions of people we hold onto even when they are no longer present. It is a meditation on loss and identity, portraying the struggle of living with memory and expectation, and the sense of being followed by someone’s lingering presence while trying to understand oneself in the aftermath.

With its brooding atmosphere and powerful emotional weight “Shadow of Her Veil” stands as one of EMBERS OF DAWN’s most evocative works to date and offers a compelling preview of what awaits on their forthcoming album arriving in 2026.

About EMBERS OF DAWN:

Formed in 2022, EMBERS OF DAWN is a genre-defying metal project born out of Jacksonville, Florida and Santa Barbara, California. The band blends elements of industrial, gothic, melodic death metal, and cyber-metal to create a sound that is both cinematic and punishing. Known for their thematic focus on alienation, modern decay, and emotional detachment, EMBERS OF DAWN delivers music that is as introspective as it is aggressive.

The band’s music features cold, mechanical precision layered with dark melodic textures, drawing influence from acts like PAIN, DARK TRANQUILLITY, MINISTRY, FEAR FACTORY, RAMMSTEIN, STATIC-X, ROB ZOMBIE, ARCH ENEMY, and TYPE O NEGATIVE. With each release, they continue to explore new sonic territory, balancing technicality with atmosphere, brutality with beauty.

Their upcoming debut album Infernal Culture features drums by ADRIAN ERLANDSSON (AT THE GATES, CRADLE OF FILTH, PARADISE LOST, THE HAUNTED), adding an explosive edge to their already dynamic sound.

EMBERS OF DAWN is:

  • Cliff Ross – guitars, programming

  • Scott Van Horn – bass, programming

SUNSWARM Unleashes Debut Single “Sunswarm”: A Bleak, Crushing Immersion Into Modern Industrial Noise

SUNSWARM, the emerging industrial noise act from Southampton, UK, has announced the release of its self-titled debut single, “Sunswarm.” Newly formed, the band arrives with a fully articulated vision that leans into heaviness not as spectacle, but as an unavoidable truth. Their sound is shaped by the weight and desolation of GODFLESH, the spiritual intensity of AMENRA, the confrontational extremity of THE BODY, and the cosmic dread of ORANSSI PAZUZU. SUNSWARM draw from these influences without imitation, creating an approach that is defined by early 90s industrial sampling techniques, scorched guitar textures, and vocals shaped by black-metal intensity, all fused into rhythms that feel more like movements of pressure than traditional song structures.

The single “Sunswarm” serves as the first expression of this identity. Its lyrics are minimal and ritualistic, functioning less as narrative and more as invocation: “Sunswarm. How to die. Sunswarm. Look into the light.” These words sit within an atmosphere that feels both claustrophobic and vast, the kind of sound designed to confront rather than reassure. The track is built to feel like a moment suspended between collapse and revelation, a tone that reflects the band’s view of the modern world and the emotional weight they aim to channel.

About SUNSWARM:

SUNSWARM is led by vocalist and bassist Rich Lee-Davis and vocalist and guitarist Neil Sutton, joined by additional contributors who extend the band’s sonic and visual reach. Together they construct an immersive environment where sound, light, and texture collide. Their creative world is defined by sensory overload, stark monochrome imagery, disorienting strobe work, and the feeling of being enclosed within an atmosphere that is both vast and hostile. Everything they create is intended to overwhelm, to blur the line between performance and encounter.

From their earliest ideas, SUNSWARM have operated from a place of complete self-definition, shaping a language of heaviness that goes beyond impact or aggression. They approach weight and intensity as emotional terrain, a landscape shaped by pressure, absence, and the darker edges of lived experience. Their debut single, “Sunswarm,” marks the first reveal of this landscape, a glimpse into the bleak and immersive world the band is building.

SUNSWARM is:

Rich Lee-Davis - vocals, bass
Neil Sutton - vocals, guitar

LEVELS Drop "Black Dove" Video

Central Arkansas-based, cyber-industrial x metal quartet LEVELS — Kolby Carignan [vocals], Jager Felice [guitar], Jacob Hubbard [bass], and Dalton Kennerly [drums] — have come roaring out of the gates to close out the year with the video for the new single "Black Dove."

Watch it below.

The song, with its glitchy riffs, deep grooves, and kinetic vocals, will take up real estate in your brain for days on end. And the balls-out breakdown will leave you seeing stars.

"'Black Dove' is a requiem for lost faith and forbidden love, a haunting prayer that drifts through the ruins of devotion to ghosts born in the mind," the band explains

The new track follows "Covert One," which arrived over the summer.  Watch the video here.

LEVELS are known for fusing heavy music with elements of pop, electronic, and drum and bass. Since forming in 2016, they have independently amassed millions of streams, drawing influence from artists as diverse as Billie Eilish, The Prodigy, Static-X, and The Weeknd.

Following the success of their 2023 EP PULSE on SharpTone Records, which surpassed 1 million streams, LEVELS aren't adding to the noise, they're building something new, sharp, and unapologetically their own. Their sound fuses digital grit with raw emotion; dark, distorted, and built to break through the static. LEVELS have built their rise on a fierce DIY ethic, steadily growing from small rooms to bigger stages, playing alongside bands such as: Kittie, ERRA, Beartooth, The Devil Wears Prada, and more.

LEVELS are more than a band. Their ever evolving world is built from cinematic visuals, visceral performances, and immersive storytelling, standing out in a hyper-connected yet emotionally disconnected era. With each track, they seek to reignite authentic connection. As they continue to carve their path through the metal landscape, their mission remains clear: Don't bury emotion. Embrace it. Channel it. And turn it into something that makes you feel again.

DROP DEAD, GORGEOUS Share "Sink Your Teeth" Video

Drop Dead, Gorgeous emerged in the mid-2000s with an emotionally charged take on post-hardcore that helped define the era. As teenagers from Denver, their 2006 debut In Vogue became a landmark for Rise Records, blending synth-laced breakdowns, theatrical flair, and raw vulnerability. Follow-up albums like Worse Than a Fairy Tale and The Hot N' Heavy cemented their place in the scene, influencing a wave of bands that followed.

The tastemakers at VICE tipped the band as that which helped to "perfect a style of post-hardcore that other bands would model themselves after. Where other bands in the scene would regurgitate the same testosterone-tinged bro-rock, Drop Dead, Gorgeous made their mark by putting [emotional] vulnerability into song."

After a decade-long hiatus, core members Daniel "Stills" Stillman, Danny Cooper, and Jake Hansen returned in 2024 with a string of surprise shows and, in 2025, released their first new music in years with the single "Six Feet." The followup "Burn" continued that momentum.

Now, the band is issuing the new single "Sink Your Teeth," which signals that Drop Dead, Gorgeous aren't chasing the past, they’re building something new: Heavier, sharper, and just as honest as ever.

Watch the video Below:

"'Sink Your Teeth' is a dark, introspective track that turns personal struggle into resilience," says Stillman. "Through vivid imagery and raw emotion, it explores confronting destructive patterns and finding strength in facing the darkness head-on."

It's incredibly fitting that Drop Dead, Gorgeous have partnered with Artery. Both the band and the label were industry titans of the '00s and '10s metalcore explosion.

The Artery Foundation is a familiar name to hard rock fans. In 2025, the brand has rebooted and is a full service company. It's a label, artist management and producer management firm, among other things. During its 2010s heyday, the brand helped author the burgeoning metalcore scene, having been responsible for singing and breaking genre titans.

From the sweaty chaos of basements and VFW halls to the world's biggest festivals, Artery has helped guide talent from local notoriety to global recognition. The list of heavy music cornerstone acts that started with Artery speaks for itself" A Day To Remember, Motionless In White, Dance Gavin Dance, Beartooth, Sleeping With Sirens, The Amity Affliction, Asking Alexandria, The Devil Wears Prada, Our Last Night, Memphis May Fire, Fit For A King, The Plot In You, Attila, Attack Attack!, and more.

In 2010, the company launched Artery Recordings, a label imprint that gave rise to breakout acts like Chelsea Grin and Kublai Khan TX. As Artery continued to expand, founder Eric Rushing concurrently deepened his influence on Sacramento's music and nightlife culture. His handiwork is evident in various live venues, restaurants, and bars.

Teen Metal Band Chained Saint Live Drop "Live at the Whisky A Go Go" EP

Teen metal band CHAINED SAINT — comprised of Ethan Kahn (guitar), Sebastian De Avila (bass), Cameron Cottrell (drums) and Sean Sterling (vocals) — were one of the most surprising musical discoveries of 2024 and their growth spurt further intensified in 2025.

Revolver, Guitar World, Loudwire, Metal Injection, Miami New Times, and Judas Priest legend Rob Halford all praised the band for their chops. SiriusXM's Liquid Metal added the band to their playlist, and their debut single "Animosity" served as the theme song for the WWE 2K24 DLC 4 trailer. Ahead of their first tour in the summer of 2025, Chained Saint shared the brand new single "1000 Tons." Watch the lyric video below:

Chained Saint appeared at several festivals through the rest of the year, including Welcome to Rockville, Rocklahoma, Louder Than Life, and VANS Warped Tour. Weather caused their set at LTL to be canceled, but Slaughter to Prevail personally invited Sterling on stage to perform with them in a moment of metallic magic.

Today, Chained Saint share their Live at the Whisky a Go GO EP, which was recording on August 15 of this year. It marked the band's second performance at the legendary L.A. venue and shows off the kind energy that can only be expended by youth, along with their serious skills.

Watch the full performance here.

Listen to and download the EP here and here.

"We love playing in Los Angeles and love playing at the Whisky a Go Go," the band says. "Besides being an iconic venue, it's intimate, and the energy is great. And there's nothing like playing in front of a packed house. We talked about releasing a live EP between the Blindside album and the new music we're releasing early next year. The August 15 show at the Whisky provided the perfect opportunity to show what it's like to see us live. We were also able to capture the set on video, for all of the people who haven't had the opportunity to see us live yet."

Born in a South Florida garage back in the summer of 2022, Chained Saint's recently released debut album, Blindside (out via independent label Patriark Records) combines the raw, organic riffery of the best old-school '80s thrash metal with a dash of modern-day brutality befitting the many challenges confronting the youth of 2024. The past and present collide, resulting in modern, metallic maelstrom made by a bunch of kids who play with fire in their veins — and their hands! Blindside, produced by William DuVall of Alice In Chains, focuses that fury into a powerfully concise, eight-song LP. The album was recorded and mixed to analog tape with no computers involved whatsoever in the recording sessions. No AI. No studio trickery. No bullshit. Just real riffs made by real players.

KALAMITY KILLS Releases Explosive New Single "Help!" Today, a Hard Rock Reimagining of THE BEATLES Classic

East Nashville hard rock breakout KALAMITY KILLS has released its brand new single "HELP!" today through Pero Recordings. Recorded live in the studio with choice overdubs for impact, the track delivers a fierce reinterpretation of THE BEATLES classic. The band has rebuilt the song with their trademark intensity, emotional depth, and modern heaviness.

Produced and mixed by guitarist Jamey Perrenot, this new version of "HELP!" captures the urgency and vulnerability of the original while pushing it into a darker and more electrified space. Soaring vocals, heavy guitars, tight harmonies, and driving rhythms create a sound that feels both familiar and completely refreshed.

A new performance video also debuts today. The visual showcases the full band performing the track with raw energy and conviction, giving fans a direct look at the chemistry and spirit behind the release.

About KALAMITY KILLS

KALAMITY KILLS is a hard rock band forged in the heart of East Nashville, Tennessee. Formed in 2022 by vocalist Jamie Rowe and guitarist/producer Jamey Perrenot, the band emerged from the ashes of a solo project into a fully realized sonic assault—fueled by raw emotion, modern aggression, and a deep respect for rock’s roots. With a sound that fuses the swagger of classic hard rock with the intensity and polish of modern metal, KALAMITY KILLS strikes a rare balance between power and vulnerability.

Best known for their debut self-titled album Kalamity Kills, the band quickly turned heads thanks to high-profile collaborations with members of KORN, 3 DOORS DOWN, LA GUNS, CONQUER DIVIDE, and UNDEROATH. Their music has earned national airplay on SIRIUSXM’s Octane, landed on the Billboard Active Rock charts, and crossed over into viral success without ever chasing trends.

More than just a studio project, KALAMITY KILLS is a growing force with a full live lineup, including bassist/vocalist Julia Lauren Bullock and drummer Rob Bodley. Their songs—ranging from explosive anthems to brutally honest ballads—tackle themes of faith, failure, hypocrisy, redemption, and the messy beauty of being human.

KALAMITY KILLS is for the outsiders, the misfits, the ones who’ve been burned and are still standing. Loud. Unapologetic. Unforgettable.

Rotting Christ Release Live Video of "Under the Name of Legion"

After 35 years of evil existence, Rotting Christ still stand the test of time. Sakis Tolis, his brother Themis and their Greek brothers-in-arms have risen from the Athenian underground to become one of the metal world's most reliable forces, backed by a pantheon discography that has both defined and defied black metal.

As they prepare for what's building up to be a monumental 2026, today, Rotting Christ are releasing a new live video from the upcoming Blu-Ray edition of  35 Years of Evil Existence - Live in Lycabettus. Though a familiar inclusion among the band's setlist, when performed in front of a sold-out crowd at their historic home theater, "Under the Name of Legion" raises the banner for Hellenic black metal to new heights.

Watch Rotting Christ perform "Under the Name of Legion" Live in Lycabettus below:

The Blu-Ray edition of 35 Years of Evil Existence - Live in Lycabettus comes out this Friday, December 12, 2025 on Season of Mist.

When Rotting Christ stepped onto the stage at the historic Lycabettus Hill Theater for the first time last summer, Sakis, Themis, Kostis Fouk and Kostas "Spades" Heliotis treated 7,000 devout followers to a two-hour set that spanned the band's entire career. Picking one song to close such a monumental evening is no easy feat, especially among their pantheon-level discography. But "Under the Name of Legion" gave them the perfect send-off.

Originally, "Under the Name of Legion" appeared as the closing track on Genesis, Rotting Christ's seventh full-length album. While the song is still blessed with the band's enchanting gothic melodies, it's mighty opening chant recalls the unflinching pact they forged with metal legions during their earliest years. "Love of darkness signifies the enlightened life eternally". Beating from inside Lycabettus' ancient halls, Rotting Christ's true metal spirit echoed beyond the ages.

"We are proud that our new live album will now be available on Blu-Ray", says Sakis. "Thanks to all our metal brothers and sisters for your attention, support and dedication over all these years. You can be sure that we will be at the frontline of the battlefield until the end. Non Serviam!"

The footage from 35 Years of Existence - Live in Lycabettus was directed by Yiannis Margetousakis & Thanos Liberopoulos.
