Your Inland Empire Spark on New Single "Grinding"

From the ashes of Crown, rises a shiny new banner for dark wave. On Your Inland Empire, the duo of Stéphane Azam and David Husser take the heavy electronics that they first donned on Crown’s last album a step further into the darkness of the club.

Today, Your Inland Empire are releasing “Grinding” as the second single off their upcoming debut album. Churning with pulsing beats, sparking riffs and shadowy bass lines, the song cuts straight to the album’s core, dancing between conflicting emotions and industrial decay, through the darkness and into the light.

Watch the video for “Grinding” below.

Your Inland Empire’ self-titled debut album comes out November 14, 2025 on Season of Mist.

In 2021, Crown’s The End of All Things revealed a striking metamorphosis. The album shifted the duo of Stéphane Azam and David Husser away from their sludge-laden origins into a cinematic fusion of industrial rock, post-metal atmosphere and darkwave sensibility. Its balance of bleakness and accessibility was praised for expanding Crown’s sonic vocabulary, yet the record ultimately stood as both culmination and chrysalis: the closing of one chapter and the quiet emergence of another.

That emergence is now complete. Your Inland Empire opens a new frontier with their upcoming self-titled debut album. “Grinding” pulses against bleak meditations on distance and dissolution. “I’m falling apart / In the void of my heart”, Azam sings, as if through gritted teeth, as he drifts through a haze of electro-shocked guitars.

“When writing music and lyrics, I often have very abstract visions — living paintings that I try to transcribe into sound,” Azam explains. “It can be colors, shapes, landscapes, people, all evolving in my imagination like a trance”.

The video for “Grinding” was directed by Brice Hincker & Amelie Diane. Your Inland Empire would like to give a special thanks to Philippe Dolfus and Olivier Guillemin for their collaboration and support on the video.

Irish singer-songwriter Ger Eaton heralds the release of debut album 'Season Changes'

Well known in his homeland thanks to a string of brilliant singles, Irish bard par excellence Ger Eaton is back with a large dose of Renaissance Pop. Finally, he will be releasing his long-awaited debut album 'Season Changes' via Dimple Discs, a Peckham-based label that has championed many Irish artists. In the home-stretch before its release, he shares the singles 'Hollow' and 'The Time It Takes To Fall'.

Ger Eaton is the singer and sonic auteur behind a remarkable and acclaimed set of songs, released as singles over the past two years, both on his own imprint and by enterprising indie label Dimple Discs, who spotted a good thing and snapped him up. An artist who has graced many a stage, his distinctive keyboards have graced many Irish bands of the last two decades.

With a rich progression from baroque pop and cinematic balladry to more folk elements, Eaton creates music that is laced with broad orchestral arrangements, drama, and honesty. Complimenting the video for his recent single 'Season Changes', a live rendition of 'Phoenix (Reborn)' and 'Season Changes' was also recorded live at Hyde Dublin.

"‘Season Changes’ is essentially an old fashioned break-up LP. All of the songs deal with the complexities, both emotional and physical, that come with the ending of a very long and significant relationship. Mirroring the seasons, ‘Season Changes’ charts the often inevitable decay of a relationship, from the glowing bloom of its Spring, gradually ebbing away to its wintery conclusion," says Ger Eaton.

"The songs were written about and recorded during the end of my marriage, and I decided from the off that the Lyrics would be raw and honest… I felt I owed that much to myself. Musically, I wanted the arrangements and instrumentation to bring a lushness and drama that would wrap the words in the appropriate Musical Cloak ...For me, music has always been a place where I can both lose and find myself… a Solice … my Phoenix."

Beginning with 'I Thought I’d A Friend' and continuing through the beautiful 'Hollow', 'The Time It Takes To Fall', 'Phoenix (Reborn)', 'Home Again' and the most recent single 'Season Changes', Ger’s work carries echoes of Scott Walker, Jimmy Webb, Brian Wilson, Ian Brown and the high melodic heyday of the late 1960s, yet shot through with a contemporary slant and edge.

Each new song and accompanying video has marked an exciting stage in Ger’s progress and has received recognition and tremendous support from national and regional radio programmers in his native Ireland and also in the UK, as well as music writers and tastemakers.

On October 17th, the 'Season Changes' album will be released on vinyl and CD. It will also be available from digital platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music and also Bandcamp

On October 23rd, Ger Eaton and his 11-piece band take the stage at The National Concert Hall in Dublin, with support  from Andrew Keeling & vocalist Toni Kay.  Tickets can be ordered at https://www.nch.ie/all-events-listing/metronome-ger-eaton-oct25

Seattle's AudioGust battles the noise on new single 'Easier', an escape from news fatigue

Seattle-based artist AudioGust presents 'Easier', which explores the mental toll of living in a world overflowing with bad news. This is the second single from his third album 'Falling From Down' — his most unflinching yet — a journey through collapse, resilience, and the fragile beauty of survival. This arrives on the trail of the post-grunge lead track 'Isotope'.

Opening with introspective verses that capture the strain of living in a world full of overwhelming news and challenges. The refrain— “Some days, it would be easier if I didn’t know”—becomes a mantra for that tension between awareness and avoidance. Midway, the song bursts into a high-energy pop-punk bridge, imagining what life might feel like if one could truly escape the weight of it all, before settling back into reflective intensity, acknowledging that life’s challenges inevitably return.

“I wrote ‘Easier’ out of frustration with how overwhelming it can be to take in all the bad news every day. There’s a fantasy in the song about how simple life might feel if you just tuned it all out — but in the end, you can’t really look away. The world always pulls you back," says Chris Evans.

"Easier serves as the emotional and thematic centerpiece of the album, hinting at a journey through struggle, growth, and resilience that listeners will encounter in the full release."

An accomplished songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist, AudioGust is Chris Evans, whose journey started as a guitarist and bassist in various 1980s bands. After a decades-long detour in the software industry, he has returned to his true passion - writing and recording in his own studio, releasing loads of music and collaborating with artists worldwide.

With powerful, emotionally resonant music, AudioGust is known for his ability to blend high-energy performances with deeply personal storytelling. He has released over four dozen songs across multiple albums and EPs, including his debut 'Walk With Me', follow-ups 'Hope from Darkness' and 'Love and Pain', and his second album 'Here We Go Again', released earlier this year and exploring the highs and lows of creativity, and the unpredictable nature of inspiration.

The coming 'Falling From Down' album showcases a harder-edged post-grunge and modern rock sound while retaining the melodic hooks and storytelling that have become his signature. Combining raw rock intensity with strong melodies and emotionally resonant lyrics, AudioGust's tracks are full of energy and memorable hooks, reflecting both a deep understanding of rock’s past and a fresh, contemporary approach. His songs resonate long after the last note fades.

Crafting memorable melodies and thought-provoking lyrics, upbeat rhythms and arrangements, AudioGust's music speaks to the disenchanted and dreamers alike through sonic explorations of the modern human condition. AudioGust was also a finalist in the 2024 USA Songwriting Contest. Writing hooky anthems, AudioGust creates a sound vortex imbued with 90’s to 2000’s alt-rock, his guitar-driven music brings in a strong, driving rhythm section, big choruses and even bigger bridge sections.

'Easier' is out now, available from online music platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp. The 'Falling From Down' album will be released on November 7.

Fitzsimon and Brogan (FaB) presents 'The Hourglass Girl', a sonic commentary on serial dating

UK indie rock duo Fitzsimon and Brogan (FaB) present their new single 'The Hourglass Girl', a sharp, indie-rock takedown of modern-day dating, offering a catchy, powerpop-laced commentary on fly-by-night relationships. The central character acts like a black widow of the modern dating world. The story takes a cynical turn, as our subject is attractive and charming, but also calculated, counting down the time before moving on to her next catch.

This is FaB's second single this year, released through Booster Music WTPL France, following 'Flowers At Her Door' in August - a sonic and lyrical achievement that recalls Debbie Harry with the deep tone of German singer-songwriter Nico.

In a music landscape starved for originality, FaB proves that sometimes the freshest sounds are born from old-school inspiration. Made up of songwriter Neil Fitzsimon and vocalist Bee Brogan, both members of the Sony-licensed band Pretty Blue Gun, the two went on to form the London-based songwriting-production partnership FaB Productions and record their 'Big Blue World' album at Abbey Road's Studio Two, where The Beatles recorded so many great songs.

About the new single, Neil Fitzsimon explains, "We thought we’d turn the rather hackneyed phrase, "the hourglass girl", on its head and instead write a song about the ephemeral modern-day dating scene. The girl in question, the ‘hourglass’ girl, leads partners into thinking they have something special, whilst all the time, she is counting down the clock before she moves on to her next victim".

Creating remarkable power pop for now people, FaB has captured the attention of legends, with David Bowie's drummer Woody Woodmansey praising their ability to stand out from the crowd and Elvis Costello's Pete Thomas saying the avant-garde would be proud.

FaB has crafted a project that's both emotive and lighthearted, successfully bridging the spirit of '60s and '70s songwriting with a truly new feel. Recorded at FaB Productions, this single was co-produced, mixed and mastered by Martin Smith (Electric Light Orchestra, Shakin' Stevens) at Garage Studios in London. The music and lyrics for 'Flowers at Her Door' are written by Fitzsimon, with Brogan handling vocals, keyboards, drums and engineering.

FaB's 2020 album 'This Wicked Pantomime' was co-produced by Pat Collier (Katrina and the Waves, Primal Scream, Maximo Park) at Perry Vale Studios, London and involved dummer Woody Woodmansey (David Bowie Spiders from Mars), plus Elvis Costello drummer Pete Thomas. This followed the well-received albums 'Venus in Reverse' (2011), 'His Latest Squeeze' (2015), 'Big Blue World' (2018) and 'The Girl Who Shouted Love at the Heart of the World' (2019).

Those releases involved world-class musicians from The Art of Noise, Eric Claptonbassist Dave Bronze, Moody Blues' Tobias Boshell and Pip Williams (Walker Brothers). Having toured nationally and achieved Film and TV placements, they also wrote the musical 'Jack Dagger', showcased at the Greenwich Theatre, London for the Musical Futures Award, and also at the Bridewell and the Royal College of Music in London. With chart success in France, Belgium, and South Africa—and a song featured in a U.S. sci-fi film—the band is making waves on every front.

As of October 10, 'The Hourglass Girl' is available from music platforms globally, including Apple Music, Spotify and Bandcamp.

NYC songstress Jessie Kilguss unveils brilliantly inspired ‘St. Teresa in Ecstasy’

NYC singer-songwriter Jessie Kilguss presents her single 'St. Teresa of Ecstasy', showcased in a brilliantly inspired video by Alex Dar, a sonic exploration of being moved by something magical and the sheer, vital power of all great art. Inspired by Bernini's dramatic Roman sculpture, this is a lyrical journey rooted in a feeling of being whisked away by something that feels celestial and profoundly greater than us all.

This is the second taste of her sixth album 'They Have A Howard Johnson's There',which was engineered, produced, mixed and mastered by Charlie Nieland (Debbie Harry, Rufus Wainwright, Blondie, Scissor Sisters) at Saturation Point Studios in Brooklyn. This song features drummer-percussionist Rob Heath (Madison Square Gardeners, Julia Nunes), guitarist-keyboardist Kirk Schoenherr (Tegan and Sara, Elle King, Chet Faker) and guitarist Andrea Longato (Duncan Shiek, Jeremy Jordan, Alphonso Ribeiro), with Charlie Nieland on bass, violin bow guitar and keys.

"The story of this song is really in the lyrics. I was visiting a friend in Rome and two different friends highly recommended I go see the sculpture The Ecstasy of St Teresa by Gian Lorenzo Bernini in the Cornaro Chapel of Santa Maria della Vittoria," explains Jessie Kilguss.

"I had a transcendent experience looking at this piece of art which I think I express better through song rather than just speaking or writing about it. Art (of all disciplines) has the ability to transport us to other places or states of being. The song is about experiencing the magic of this specific sculpture and maybe in a greater sense, the magic of being transported by something that feels bigger and more important than the everyday – something that feels otherworldly and divine."

Kilguss recently released the near-title track 'Howard Johnson's' with an era-inspired nostalgic video by Deborah Magocsi, for which she is accompanied by John Kengla (David Byrne, Ben Kweller, Serena Ryder) on guitar, bass and keys, Rob Heath on drums and percussion, and Dave Derby (The Dambuilders, Gramercy Arms, Lloyd Cole) and Charlie Nieland on backing vocals. Rembert Block (Rembert and the Basic Goodness. also features elsewhere on this album.

This offering follows her single 'Too Far From Texas' (a collab with Jim Andralis), 'You're the One' and 'Wuthering Heights'. Kilguss' 2022 album 'What Do Whales Dream About at Night?' LP features drummer Brian Griffin (Patti Smith, Brandi Carlisle, Lana Del Rey), bassist Whynot Jansveld (The Wallflowers, Butch Walker, Sara Bareilles), composer-producer Naren Rauch, and Nathan Schram (Bjork, David Crosby, David Byrne), with whom Kilguss ran the non-profit organization Musicambia.

A former actress, whose acting highlights include 'The Crucible' (with Daniel Day Lewis and Winona Ryder) and the stage production 'As You Like It' (directed by Royal Shakespeare Company founder Sir Peter Hall), Kilguss made songwriting her focus after working with musical heroes Marianne Faithfull and Mary Margaret O'Hara in the Tom Waits / William Burroughs musical 'The Black Rider'.

Kilguss also sings with the Loser’s LoungeGramercy ArmsJim Andralis and the Syntonics and Benjamin Cartel. She's also performed at the Sundance Film Festival and with Freddie Stevenson, touring as support for The Waterboys' European tour. In June 2025, Kilguss was an artist in residence at Fish Factory Creative Center in Stodvarfjordur, Iceland where she wrote 9 new songs.

As of October 8, 'St. Teresa In Ecstasy' is available everywhere, including Apple MusicSpotify and Bandcamp with the full album to follow on November 14th. On November 5, Kilguss' Record Release Show is at Berlin Under A, with Life in a Blender and Charlie Nieland, who marks the release of his 'Stories From The Borderlines' album.

THE NOCTAMBULANT Unveil "Bring The Sorrow", A Sinister Hymn From The Southern Void

Drawing from the raw bloodlines of blues, rockabilly, goth rock, and American country, Florida’s dark torchbearers THE NOCTAMBULANT open the gates to the abyss with their new single “Bring The Sorrow.”

With this release, the band channels the haunted spirits of the South, where gospel hymns curdle into laments and salvation tastes of rust and whiskey. “Bring The Sorrow” is the first true blast of sound from a forthcoming chapter in THE NOCTAMBULANT’s evolution, a forceful wake-up call from the shadows of the American heartland.

The track begins with the metaphorical crack of a Bible slamming shut on a pulpit, signaling the end of blind faith and the beginning of reckoning. Its lyrics twist the familiar words of Psalm 91, a passage once meant to promise protection and peace, into something deeply corrupted. In the world of “Bring The Sorrow,” faith offers no refuge, only torment. The song reimagines the sacred as profane, echoing through the backwoods of Appalachia and the swamps below, where every prayer is answered with silence.

“Bring The Sorrow” captures The Noctambulant’s signature fusion of dark Americana and gothic metal, where howling guitars and funeral dirges collide. It is both a sermon and a curse, a lament for a world where redemption has lost its meaning.

About THE NOCTAMBULANT:
In 2013, THE NOCTAMBULANT formed in Jacksonville, Florida, with a mission to spread the culture of Southern Appalachia through their unique interpretation of black metal. Merging the genre’s primal aggression with the crushing weight of blackened death metal and the haunting atmospherics of Southern Gothic, they sought to honor the myths, spirits, and eerie folklore of the region.

Founded by E. Helvete (Guitars, Vocals) and D. Franseth (Drums) following the breakup of their psychobilly band, THE NOCTAMBULANT emerged as they delved into the darker realms of black metal. With the addition of Lars Goerschafft (Bass) and, later, Rev Beaumont (Guitar), the band fully embraced a sound that merges relentless intensity with ghostly Appalachian storytelling, crafting an auditory spell of sorrow, brutality, and mysticism.

Their music weaves a sonic tapestry of feral blackened riffs, ominous melodies, and immersive soundscapes steeped in spectral Appalachian lore. Drawing inspiration from metal legends such as VENOM, CELTIC FROST, BATHORY, and DARK FUNERAL, THE NOCTAMBULANT channels both ferocity and haunting atmosphere, merging the unrelenting force of extreme metal with the ghostly echoes of ancient myths and the desolation of the Southern Gothic landscape. Their next album is set to emerge in 2026.

THE NOCTAMBULANT is:
E. Helvete - Guitars/Vocals
D. Franseth - Drums
Lars G - Bass
Rev. Beaumont - Lead Guitar

ESHTADUR Announces Mexico Dates for “Bellum Regiis” Tour and Symphonic Live Album Release

Colombian blackened melodic death metal force ESHTADUR returns to Mexico this October as direct support for Polish death metal titans HATE on the incendiary “Bellum Regiis” Tour.

Kicking off on October 11 in Mexico City, this brutal cross-country trek will see ESHTADUR delivering their signature fusion of crushing riffs, symphonic grandeur, and tribal intensity to audiences across seven cities. The opening night in CDMX will be a monumental event, also featuring none other than BEHEMOTH. As one of the most internationally acclaimed extreme metal acts to emerge from Latin America, ESHTADUR is poised to conjure chaos and catharsis in every city they touch.

The tour comes ahead of ESHTADUR’s upcoming live album, Symphonic Crows – Live at the Santiago Londoño’s Theater, arriving December 4, 2025 via Void Nation. Recorded in their hometown with a full symphonic orchestra, the album is a triumphant testament to the band’s cinematic sound and uncompromising energy.

Featuring seven tracks including Lowborn Bastard, Umbra, The Red Door, and She The Void, the album captures the magic of their genre-defying performance in Pereira, Colombia. Produced by Jorg August, mixed and mastered by Diego Rodriguez, and recorded at the Santiago Londoño’s Theater, this release is a milestone in the band’s legacy, melding orchestral majesty with the relentless pulse of death metal.

About ESHTADUR:

ESHTADUR was founded in the fall of 2005 by Jorg August, releasing the Timo Be Timo demo with a sound in the vein of COVENANT, DIMMU BORGIR, and OLD MAN’S CHILD. Since then, they have released a pair of EPs and four powerful full-length albums. ESHTADUR, meaning "the rebellion of angels," can be most closely likened to bands such as SEPTIC FLESH, BEHEMOTH, FLESHGOD APOCALYPSE, CARACH ANGREN, and the like. Like their scene counterparts, the band embodies a deathly melodic atmosphere that reaches into realms of darkness and despair through the decay of humanity. It seeks to rebel, in its darkened way, embracing the abject reality.

ESHTADUR is:

  • Jorg August – Vocals and Guitars

  • Camilo Barbosa – Lead Guitars

  • Andres Gonzalez – Bass

  • Juan Lopez – Drums

The Belair Lip Bombs Release New Single Back Of My Hand

The Belair Lip Bombs release “Back of My Hand,”  the third single/video from their new album, Again, out October 31st via Third Man Records.

The song undulates with an easygoing rhythm before bursting into Weezer-style guitar riffs on its heart-in-hand chorus. It’s another instance of the band’s total sincerity as Maisie implores a romantic connection to trust in the strength of their connection.

“Writing the lyrics was an up-and-down process,” Maisie explains. “I wrote the second verse first, the night I got home from the rehearsal where we wrote the song. I got a bit stoned and laid in bed with a notepad and a pen and the lyrics and the melody kinda just poured out of me, which pretty much never happens, so I guess it was a fluke.”

Blackshape Release New Track "Falling" and Official Visualizer via Papercut Recordings

Atmospheric post-metal outfit BLACKSHAPE have dropped their latest offering "Falling" and the surreal accompanying visualizer (via Papercut Recordings). Rife with soaring, expressive guitar melodies interlaced with menacing beats, "Falling" is taken from the band's forthcoming new EP 'Prismer I', set for release on October 24. Speaking about today's release, the band commented:

'Falling' captures the tension at the heart of [our] sound—the pull between making music [that is] heavier and more abrasive, and at the same time more beautiful. An intense instrumental journey, “Falling” speaks for itself while setting the stage for its vocal-driven sister song on [our] upcoming record, 'Prismer I'".

ABOUT BLACKSHAPE

Haunting, intricate, and emotionally brutal, BLACKSHAPE create music that lives in the shadowed space between chaos and clarity. Their compositions stretch across post-metal, math rock, and ambient minimalism—twisting tension and release into something visceral and cinematic. For fans of sonic unease, dramatic builds, and songwriting that lives outside the lines.

Making Prismer IBLACKSHAPE’s new record, pushed the band to their breaking point. The process became their prison, a crucible of relentless personal and creative pressure. But the music was a prism—refracting that pressure into something beautiful, harrowing, and cathartic, and ultimately reshaping their perspective in the very act of making it. The title reflects this duality, capturing both the burden of confined thinking and the liberation in breaking it apart. Like a prism splitting light, every experience expands perspective into countless paths, showing that escaping the prison of one view means embracing the full spectrum: beautiful, ugly, terrifying, and freeing. This is Prismer.

The crowd in Zurich pushed us to the point where we and especially Gent delivered 110% of the magic we had to give. This becomes very clear when listening to this recording,” states guitarist Jgor Gianola.

Leo Leoni adds about the original intention behind the track: “It’s a great song with a lot of energy that helps you when you’re ‘sick and tired’ of things you wanna get rid of. Then the guitar riff kicks in and the rock ‘n’ roll spirit brings back the positive vibes.

The group’s latest record hit the official Swiss album chart at no. 2 and thereby cemented the high demand for their captivating craft. DANKO JONES Pay Homage to KISS on New Video Single “Diamond In The Rough” feat. Marty Friedman (MEGADETH)

Toronto’s hardest-hitting rock ’n’ roll trio DANKO JONES are back with their explosive new single “Diamond In The Rough”, the latest cut from their upcoming album Leo Rising — out November 21, 2025, via Perception – A Division of Reigning Phoenix Music and Sonic Unyon (Canada)!

The track is a high-voltage homage to classic KISS, supercharged by a blazing guest solo from guitar legend Marty Friedman (MEGADETH, CACOPHONY).

The band comments: “Channeling early Kiss, this is a favorite of mine, especially with the one and only Marty Friedman on lead guitar!”

“Diamond In The Rough” channels the raw, unfiltered energy of 1970s arena rock. Friedman’s fiery fretwork ignites the song, adding his unmistakable touch of guitar heroism that takes the band’s signature power-trio sound into overdrive.

Packed with razor-sharp riffs, thunderous rhythms, and infectious hooks, the album reaffirms that DANKO JONES are keeping rock alive by doing it better than anyone else.

John Calabrese laid down bass tracks from Finland, Rich Knox flew to Toronto to record drums, and Danko worked with producer Eric Ratz in the same city to capture vocals and guitars. Despite recording separately once again, the band’s chemistry is unmistakable. The result is pure DANKO JONES: tight, loud, and built for the stage.

Leo Rising may be their most electrifying and uplifting record yet — a jolt of high-octane rock made for packed clubs, open highways, and everything in between!

About DANKO JONES
Every time someone announces the death of rock ‘n’ roll, Canada’s most incendiary power trio roll with the punches and keep rocking with maximum commitment to the cause. DANKO JONES are a three-piece rock ‘n’ roll band from Toronto. They never sleep. They sweat blood. And they are keeping rock alive by doing it better than anyone else.

On duty since 1996, these unstoppable road-hogs have devoted their lives to rousing the people with blistering, no-bullshit, all-action rock. They have rallied a global army of rock-hungry fans, and blown them away with a steady stream of explosive, anthem-packed albums and an absurd number of live shows. From early underground smashes like We Sweat Blood [2003] and Sleep Is The Enemy[2006], to the band’s recent, triumphant triumvirate of A Rock Supreme [2019], Power Trio [2021] and Electric Sounds [2023], DANKO JONES have been a relentless force for rock ‘n’ roll good, both in the studio and on the road. And they have absolutely no intention of stopping.

You know what? I like the routine of recording, touring, writing, and repeat,” states singer/guitarist, Danko Jones himself. “I can do that till I’m dead! It may sound boring, but it’s so hard for a band to achieve. I don’t take this lightly. Also, it’s a page out of the MOTÖRHEAD handbook so it works! Since 'Electric Sounds' we’ve been touring and touring. We managed to play in Mexico and Greece for the first time, and we even played Prince Edward Island, a province in Canada we’d never been to before. Other than that, it’s been a life of gigs and writing more songs to play more gigs!”

Proving that their time was well-spent, Danko, bassist John Calabrese and drummer Rich Knox have conjured yet another blazing banquet of nourishing rock goodness on their 12th studio record, due for release later this year.

KING ULTRAMEGA (Ft Richie Kotzen , Charlie Benante) Unveils New Single "Say Hello 2 Heaven", In Memory Of Chris Cornell

Alternative rock collective KING ULTRAMEGA, featuring members of ALICE IN CHAINS, ANTHRAX, MASTODON, and SOUNDGARDEN, have unveiled an emotional new rendition of the TEMPLE OF THE DOG classic, "Say Hello 2 Heaven", featuring Richie Kotzen on vocals and guitar. KING ULTRAMEGA crafted this single in loving memory of legendary vocalist Chris Cornell, while raising funds and awareness for MusiCares. MusiCares is the Recording Academy’s nonprofit that provides mental health, addiction recovery, and emergency services to those in the music community.

Originally written by Chris Cornell as a tribute to MOTHER LOVE BONE vocalist Andrew Wood, KING ULTRAMEGA members Richie Kotzen, Charlie Benante, and Mark Menghi have now reinterpreted "Say Hello 2 Heaven" in memory of Chris Cornell. Richie Kotzen lends his soulful, expressive vocal delivery to the reimagined version of the song, imbuing it with deep personal meaning. Kotzen's performance puts emotional expression over technical preparation, resulting in an honest and moving take on the music.

"I lost my sister to suicide in 2022, and that kind of loss changes how you experience certain songs," Kotzen comments. "It's not something I set out to bring into the session, but it showed up. That's when it stopped feeling like just a tribute and became something more personal."

Bassist and mastermind Mark Menghi knew that "Say Hello 2 Heaven" would become an integral piece of KING ULTRAMEGA from the start, due to its lyrical message. Menghi chose to keep the song's arrangement and structure almost identical to the original, but the band took some creative liberties in lending R&B/soul-inspired stylings to the music.

Menghi comments, "The lyrical message in 'Say Hello 2 Heaven' strikes a chord when you think back on how Chris wrote about Andrew's untimely passing, and here we are over 30 years later paying tribute to Chris with his song about his untimely passing. It's an emotional rollercoaster to say the least."

ANTHRAX Drummer Charlie Benante immediately agreed to play on "Say Hello 2 Heaven" due to his personal connection with the song. As a longtime fan of MOTHER LOVE BONE, Benante considers "Say Hello 2 Heaven" to be one of his all-time favorite songs.

About KING ULTRAMEGA:

KING ULTRAMEGA is a passion-driven musical project honoring the life, voice, and genius of Chris Cornell, one of the most gifted artists of our time. It launches in conjunction with SOUNDGARDEN’s long-overdue induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

This project did not begin with a single, dramatic moment. Instead, it grew quietly and gradually, an organic result of years of conversations, inspiration, and deep reverence for a musician whose impact remains immeasurable.

"There is not a singular moment in time that led to this project," says bassist and producer Mark Menghi, the driving force behind KING ULTRAMEGA. "It was a trail of events that led to the formation of KING ULTRAMEGA and the evolving creation to pay tribute to the voice of a generation."

It started in 2020, in the midst of the pandemic, when Menghi recorded a version of "Rusty Cage" with friends. What began as a creative release soon became something larger. With every step forward, the project deepened in meaning and purpose. "I kept crossing the mental roadblock of 'you are entering uncharted waters, are you sure you wanna do this?'" Menghi reflects. "Chris is one of those dudes if you cover, you better do it justice."

The decision to continue became clear when SOUNDGARDEN guitarist Kim Thayil joined the project and re-recorded one of his own iconic tracks. "Once Kim got involved and re-recorded one of his own songs, I knew something was brewing,"Menghi says.

Thayil embraced the project wholeheartedly. "I’m super honored to record alongside all the amazing musicians appearing on the KING ULTRAMEGA project," he says. "I’m equally proud that it celebrates SOUNDGARDEN in this tribute to the songwriting of Chris. Ultra-admirably, everyone’s participation is supporting the work of the MusiCares Foundation. Thank you Mark Menghi, Charlie Benante and Reigning Phoenix Music (RPM)."

For Menghi, this project is as personal as it is musical. "I went through some very difficult times in my life. I should not be here right now, but I am," he shares. "I like to think my past trials and tribulations helped me understand Chris just a little, hence the formation of KING ULTRAMEGA."

Song selection was guided by instinct. "My mood. It's really that simple," Menghi explains. "'Rusty Cage' was recorded simply because it's one of my favorite songs featured on one of my favorite records." Other songs came to Menghi during moments of reflection and inspiration. "There is a bunch more in the can right now, all with drums fully recorded, which are currently being worked out for future releases."

The goal was never to reinvent Cornell’s work. It was about honoring it with the respect it deserves. "It really is only about honoring the legacy of Chris Cornell. Nothing more," Menghi says. Each musician brought their own voice, but always in service to the song and to Cornell’s memory.

"Each musician has their own individual musical stamp," Menghi explains. "You hear the absolute best of each one of them. You are talking about musicians who helped invent and shape musical genres and helped define their generations in popular culture, not just music, but society as a whole."

The cast of collaborators is remarkable. Kim Thayil, Charlie Benante, Joe Satriani, William DuVall, Bill Kelliher, Alissa White-Gluz, Kenny Aronoff, Menghi himself, among many others. The mix of past friendships and new connections created a unique bond among them. "I think back and go 'did I really ask Joe Satriani to do an instrumental reinterpretation of one of the greatest modern vocal songs ever recorded?' or 'what the fuck was I thinking asking the great Kim Thayil to re-record one of his own classic Soundgarden songs?'" Menghi laughs. Yet, no egos entered the room. "Each participating musician saw the vision and understood that this is about honoring the legacy of not only an inspiring musician, but an amazing husband, father and man."

For Menghi, Cornell’s music has always been a constant presence. "Chris Cornell has been one of only a very small handful of musical constants in my life," he says. "I never waivered, not once."

Certain moments in the process were surreal. Recording with Thayil was one of them. "I remember thinking back saying to myself 'holy fuck, I’m on a SOUNDGARDEN song with Kim Thayil. What planet are we on?'"

Throughout it all, Menghi served as the project’s creative director, always guided by one central question. "How would Chris like this?" Every choice, from guest musicians to mixes to artwork, was measured against that standard. "If there is even a shred of uncertainty at any point in the process, back to the drawing board we go."

The recordings were completed remotely over several years. The final tracks were mixed with care to ensure a cohesive sound that still captured the raw emotion of the performances.

Hope is the underlying theme that runs through KING ULTRAMEGA. It is an offering to longtime fans and an invitation for younger listeners to discover the timeless brilliance of Cornell’s work. "KU is just a blip in the Chris Cornell universe,"Menghi says. "We are a subtle reminder that Chris was a true musical genius."

For Menghi and his collaborators, KING ULTRAMEGA is both a deeply personal labor of love and one of the greatest honors of their musical lives. "To be here thirty-plus years later paying tribute to whom I believe was the king of those times is one of the greatest musical honors of my life."

Out Now From ALL HELL - Sunsetter

ALL HELL returns from the shadows with their fifth full-length album, Sunsetter, arriving on Terminus Hate City. From their origins in Asheville, North Carolina in 2013, the band has carved a singular path through the underground, blending elements of first wave black metal, deathrock, punk, and film score atmospheres into something entirely their own. Sunsetter is the culmination of years of evolution and hardship, a concept record that stretches from ancient myth to modern apocalypse, driven by fire, blood, and vision.

The band (Jacob Curwen on guitar and vocals, Erik Ballantyne on bass, and Elanti on drums) began work on Sunsetter after the release of 2019’s The Witch’s Grail. Progress was slow and plagued by constant disruption. The pandemic struck, personal tragedies followed, and devastating floods hit their home region. In the midst of all this, the band found themselves burned out and disillusioned with metal entirely. But after stepping back and rediscovering their creative hunger, they emerged with a record that is not only their most metal release to date, but also their most fully realized.

Sunsetter tells a sprawling, violent tale of exile, rebirth, and cosmic vengeance. The story begins in ancient times with the curse of Cain, the first murderer, cast into the land of Nod where he joins with Lilith, the exiled first wife of Adam. From their union comes a cursed bloodline. The album’s opening track, “Exiled into Nod,” skips any slow buildup and immediately drops the listener into the chaos of this mythic prayer. It is followed by “Dominus Sanguis, Domina Nox,” a dark hymn to the Lord of Blood and the Lady of Night, and then “The Violent Brood,” a classic ALL HELL track that portrays the frenzy of being hunted by Cain's spawn.

“The Bleeding” flips the perspective and explores the mind of a predator, with a guest solo from Nate Garnette of SKELETONWITCH adding another layer of menace. The title track, “Sunsetter,” takes a more triumphant tone, capturing the defiance and pride of the children of Cain as they reject the sun and claim dominion over the night. Its straightforward power made it the obvious choice for the album’s name.

Side two of the album begins with “The Flood and the Death,” a cinematic, spoken-word interlude that sets the stage for a shift in time. The next chapter takes place centuries later, where the bloodline of Cain has survived the flood and reemerges in the present. “Behold the Night” brings this rebirth to life with driving energy and shifting dynamics. “Path of Cain” offers a darkly anthemic reflection on lineage, sin, and survival.

The final act of the album accelerates toward doom. “Sacrifice to Shadow” portrays a cult's plea for the return of their ancient masters, while “The Ancients Rise” delivers on that prophecy with grinding riffs and ominous brass that call back to the album’s ancient beginnings. The closing track, “The Outer Night,” brings it all to an end. It begins with militaristic urgency, climbs to apocalyptic grandeur, and fades into the cold silence of a world overrun. Cain and Lilith return, and the sun sets for the last time.

The album was recorded, mixed, and engineered by Chris Adams at Hidden Audio, with mastering by Jacob Curwen. The visual aesthetic, including the album art, was also created by Curwen, preserving the band’s independent and uncompromising approach.

The sun fades. The night takes hold. The world belongs to ALL HELL.

About ALL HELL:

ALL HELL is a blackened metal trio from Asheville, North Carolina, known for their relentless fusion of first wave black metal, deathrock, punk, and horror-driven storytelling. Since forming in 2013, the band has carved out a distinct identity rooted in occult themes, razor-sharp riffs, and a fierce DIY ethos. Their sound is aggressive, stripped-down, and deeply atmospheric — a raw, unfiltered descent into myth, violence, and the supernatural.

With five full-length albums and an EP to their name, including 2025’s apocalyptic concept record Sunsetter, ALL HELL has evolved from a local cult favorite into a powerful underground force. Their live presence has taken them across the U.S., sharing stages with acts like RINGWORM, BLACK TUSK, PROFANATICA, and TURN COLD, and performing at festivals such as Decibel Metal and Beer Fest, Dark Lord Day, and RPM Fest.

The current lineup, Jacob Curwen (guitar and vocals), Erik Ballantyne (bass), and Elanti (drums), continues to push the band’s sound forward while staying true to its core. With each release, ALL HELL digs deeper into a unique mythos that spans history, horror, and apocalypse, embracing the dark, the ugly, and the eternal night.

  • Jacob Curwen – Guitar and Vocals

  • Erik Ballantyne – Bass

  • Elanti – Drums

Built on jagged guitars and a storm of emotion, “Sharp Tongue” tells the story of a woman grappling with power she no longer understands. Jenna Paulette Enlists Jake Worthington for Duet of “Chasin’ Whiskey”

Leo33’s rising country artist Jenna Paulette teams with Jake Worthington on a new duet version of the track “Chasin’ Whiskey,” uncorking a barstool ballad with a lonesome badlands sway.

Out today and written by Joe Fox and Tony Lane, the tune was originally released as a solo track on Paulette’s 2024 sophomore album, Horsebackand now finds a broken-hearted pair drowning their sorrows, after love rode off into the sunset for good.

Choosing Worthington as her duet partner was an easy choice for Paulette, who explained their connection, sharing, “Jake and I have been friends for a while, his wife Sophie and I had our babies a few weeks apart and we both hail from Texas with strong ties to Oklahoma. Outside of that, he’s just hard not to love. He has one of the most iconic voices of our generation and I’m just so thankful that he hopped on this song with me. It feels like it should’ve always been this way.”

“I’m honored to be on this song with my friend Jenna,” Worthington adds. “I think she’s stand up, 10 out of 10, one of one. I think this song’s great, it’s got a great story, we’ve all been there, and I’m proud to sing it with her.”

Featuring a dark-neon vibe built on aching Western fiddle and woozy steel guitar, Paulette’s pristine twang joins Worthington’s barrel-chested baritone, as the new-age country traditionalists come to the same, unfortunate conclusion: You can’t fence in a wild heart.

“Chasin’ Whiskey” (feat. Jake Worthington) follows the September release of Paulette’s easy-rolling “Steady,” which the lifelong cowgirl co-wrote with Will Bundy and Rhett Akins. All about the romantic bliss of a trusty, dependable partner, the tune marks a preview of Paulette’s upcoming 2026 recording project.

Meanwhile, the Texas native likewise teamed with hitmaker Ashley McBryde on a new duet version of “The Prophet (Grandaddy’s Song),” which was also featured on Horseback as a solo ballad.

In other news, the new mom recently welcomed the fall line of her CowboyGirl range-wear collection, in partnership with Ely Cattleman. Arriving one year after her women’s fashion brand launched, it features fresh seasonal details – including new autumn-oriented colors, a seasonal plaid and an expansion of the line to include the Little CowboyGirl collection (designed with the same fabrics in a “mommy down” style for mothers and daughters to wear together).

About Jenna Paulette:
A CMT Next Women of Country honoree and an Apple Music’s Country Riser, singer-songwriter Jenna Paulette – a cowgirl who came of age amid the gritty realities of ranch life – is part of Nashville’s growing wave of female artists who are rewriting the rules and charting their own paths. Paulette settled in Nashville in 2015, where she struck up a mentorship with Ashley Gorley – a veteran songwriter with 80+ No. 1 tunes under his belt – which ultimately led to her publishing deal with Sea Gayle Music in June 2021. Since collaborating with songwriters Will Bundy, Rhett Akins, and Jessie Jo Dillion, as well as opening for Mason Ramsey, Parmalee, John Michael Montgomery, Clay Walker, and most recently Aaron Watson, Paulette has landed brand partnerships with Justin Boots, Boot Barn, Ely Cattleman, and Ranch Water.

With the arrival of her debut album The Girl I Was in 2023, Grammy.com remarked the project as “transformative,” noting it “fuses the sounds of [Shania] Twain and Miranda Lambert, tackling mental health with the somber ‘You Ain’t No Cowboy’ and waxing philosophical on ‘Country In The Girl.’” She continued to spotlight her authentic Western lifestyle last year, performing the national anthem at the National Finals Rodeo, making her Grand Ole Opry debut and performing at multiple festivals, including CMA Fest. Paulette recently signed with independent label Leo33. Paulette’s sophomore album, Horseback, is available everywhere now. For more information, visit www.jennapaulette.com.

About Jake Worthington:
For Big Loud Texas traditionalist Jake Worthington, country music is in his DNA. The La Porte, Texas native was raised on his grandfather's porch performances of Ray Price, Merle Haggard and George Jones, and soon picked up his own Gibson acoustic to realize the breadth of his soon-to-be-classic, wide, and wild voice. Now, Worthington breathes fresh life into dance halls, beer joints, and ballrooms from Texas to Tennessee with his growing catalog – his sophomore album When I Write The Song is out now with Miranda Lambert collaboration “Hello Shitty Day,” “I’m The One (feat. Marty Stuart),” viral “It Ain’t The Whiskey” and more. Captivating the masses with his honky-tonk stylings, the singer-songwriter hits the road this fall joining Zach Top as direct support on all dates of the Cold Beer & Country Music Tour followed by supporting slots on Jon Pardi’s Honkytonk Hollywood Tour. “I believe in country music as much as I believe in my next breath,” Worthington declares, and “blame it on my raising, but I think there ought to be room for country in country music.”
