Wisconsin metalcore powerhouse ARCHERS have just dropped their latest single, “Better Off,” now available on all streaming platforms. Atlanta-based experimental post-hardcore band LOW BEFORE THE BREEZE unveils the third and final single from their forthcoming debut full-length, A Hole Beneath The Home We Shared. Titled “Cadaver Synod,” the track is available now alongside a striking music video and stands as the emotional and sonic centerpiece of the album.

Named after the infamous 9th-century trial of a dead pope, the song reflects on the decay of a relationship and the death of a life once imagined. Through layers of weaponized feedback, textural electronics, and brooding ambience, LOW BEFORE THE BREEZE casts aside conventional guitar and bass arrangements in favor of something far more raw and elemental

Written in motion – on the road, in hotel rooms, and across continents – it reflects the raw energy of their return to the global festival circuit after an 11-year hiatus. UNATØNED was recorded at Robb's Jam Room, Sharkbite Studios, and Drop Of Sun Recording between July 2023 and December 2024. The album was produced by Robb Flynn as well as Zack Ohren who was also responsible for the engineering. The mixing and mastering was handled by Colin Richardson and Chris Clancy at Audioworks UK and the mastering of the record was handled by Ted Jensen and his assistant Justin Shturtz. The only exception was the track 'LANDSCAPE ØF THØRNS' which was produced by Flynn and Joel Wanasek who was also in charge of mixing the single alongside Zack Ohren. MACHINE HEAD once again tapped Seth Siro Anton to create the album artwork.

Arguably Canada’s finest melodic hard rock band, HAREM SCAREM were formed in 1987 by guitarist Pete Lesperance and singer Harry Hess, formerly of the heavy metal band Blind Vengeance. The lineup was rounded out by Darren Smith (drums) and Mike Gionet (bass).

They recorded a demo in 1999, and on its strength, they were signed with Warner Music. Their self-titled album was a significant success in Canada and paved the way for the release of the heavier 'Mood Swings' album in 1993, often considered the crown jewel of their early releases.

Enjoying a particular success in the land of the Rising Sun, HAREM SCAREM kept on releasing albums regularly during the 90s until they decided to ultimately change their name and music style to Rubber between 1999 and 2001. 

In 2002, the band returned to melodic hard rock with the milestone album 'Weight Of The World,' which was their first proper release in the European marketplace thanks to their newly signed deal with Frontiers. With the Italian label, HAREM SCAREM released another five original albums (not counting 2006’s 'Human Nature') until they took a break from recording in 2008 after the release of the album 'Hope.'

In December 2012, it was announced that a reunited HAREM SCAREM would headline the 10th Firefest festival in Nottingham, UK, in October 2013, to perform the 'Mood Swings' album in its entirety. The band regrouped and performed at Firefest and moved forward re-recording 'Mood Swings II,' a twentieth-anniversary re-recording of their critically acclaimed and fan-favorite second album. 

The three new songs on that release showed renewed musical vigor and chemistry. This new energy was confirmed on 2014's 'Thirteen' release, which was a definitive return to the sound that put HAREM SCAREM on the map over 20 years earlier. 

Two more acclaimed albums followed: 'United' (2017) and 'Change The World' (2020), where the band presented a new lineup featuring Harry Hess (lead vocals, keyboards), Pete Lesperance (guitars, keyboards), long-time drummer Creighton Doane, Mike Vassos on bass, and backing vocals from original sticksman Darren Smith.

JACK THE JOKER is a modern progressive metal band with a twist hailing from the Northeast of Brazil. The band consists of Raphael Joer (vocals), Felipe Faco (guitar), Lucas Colares(guitar), Gustavo Pinheiro (bass), and Vicente Ferreira (drums).

The track features guest vocals from Unearth's Trevor Phipps. A pit-splitting breakdown opens up to the sound of Phipps' unmistakable growl. Meanwhile, singer Brock Lindow counters with a melodic lyrical hook: "Swim north to escape / Swim north to erase."
 
"It's hard to escape who you are," Lindow states. "All of the isolation I grew up with in Alaska is bound to make its way into the lyrics. So, it's a song about finding victory through defeats and never giving in."

The Boston-by-way-of-Anchorage quartet cements an uncanny union between aforementioned vocal powerhouse Lindow (36 Crazyfists), solo artist and guitarist Tyler Stroetzel, guitarist Jon Kita (Diecast), bassist Brad Horion (Diecast), and drummer Ryan Manning (Pentagram, Blitzkid). 
 
Mutual admiration and respect sparked the initial flame for Paradise Slaves, yet their newly forged friendship lit up their chemistry as brightly as a pyre. That same energy surges through their full-length debut album.
 
As the story goes, Killswitch Engage guitarist Joel Stroetzel shot a text over to Lindow mid-pandemic. As it turned out, his younger brother Tyler was putting together a solo album, Dark Verses, Vol. 1, and wanted Lindow to sing on a track. Right away, the duo hit it off as collaborators and buddies. 

Following the first song, they continued to write and record. Given his longstanding friendship with Brock, Kita naturally fit in and joined the fold followed by Horion and Manning. Jamming away, they nodded to formative inspirations such as Soundgarden and Alice In Chains twisted up with just the right amount of hardcore grit and heavy metal eloquence. In between, they performed alongside the likes of Killswitch Engage, Fit For An Autopsy, and more. Eventually, the group congregated at Tin Bridge Studios in Massachusetts in order to record.

"This band is something I didn't expect," admits Lindow. "After it fell in my lap, I was making new music with new people and we became brothers, and for that, I'm so grateful. When you get a gift like this, you need to put your best foot forward and have some fire. I definitely still have the same fire and love for making music as I always had and it manifests in Paradise Slaves."

“Förnyelse i Tre Akter” echoes the spirit of …and Oceans' early era while also injecting a sharper death metal edge, creating a sound that is both nostalgic and forward-reaching. The song echoes the broader themes of duality and personal regeneration found throughout The Regeneration Itinerary.

"This is more in the vein of old 90’s …and Oceans", says guitarist Timo Kontio, "but this time I did some different riffing. Some say it's more in the death metal style, which might be true."

Guitarist and founding member Nige Rockett opens up about the song’s return: “This new recording of the title track from the album of the same name has completely blown me away... It’s like night and day compared to the original version. It’s common knowledge that I’ve never been a huge fan of the album overall. Don’t get me wrong - I love the songs, but at the time it just wasn’t an ONSLAUGHT album in terms of the production, vibe, and everything else that surrounded this particular release. It’s always been my dream to re-record the whole album and to finally make it sound like a real ONSLAUGHT record - the way it should have sounded the first time around. Here it is...! Whomp Whack Thunder is the sound of a band at the height of its powers, marrying Southern swagger with arena-sized rock and soul-searching songwriting. Frontman Cody Cannon penned all eleven tracks solo, delivering stories that hit with the emotional weight of lived experience and the firepower of their signature sound. From the breakneck energy of “Tailspin” to the introspective grit of “Icarus” and the raucous stomp of “Ramblin’ Jones,” it’s a record born of the road and shaped by nearly two decades of defiant, grassroots momentum.

In BLACKBRIAR’s efforts to truly reach the global metal marketplace, they reached a number of firsts in 2024. In the spring, they took a maiden voyage across the Atlantic for a fruitful North American tour supporting Battle Beast as their special guest. They also took to the famous Wacken Open Air festival for the first time, in addition to also performing at Summer Breeze and Rock Imperium Festival Spain. HOLLOW LEG Announce New Full-Length Album Dust and Echoes

Sludge-tinged riff lords HOLLOW LEG return on June 13th, 2025 with Dust and Echoes, a thunderous new full-length that doubles as both concept and collision — two EPs (Dust and Echoes) written in separate sessions, now merged into one devastatingly cohesive release. The album will be released via Third House Communications and features nine crushing tracks that traverse doom, grunge, classic metal, and space rock.

Dust and Echoes was recorded and produced by the band at High Five Studio in DeLand, Florida, with mixing and mastering handled by Zeuss (HATEBREED, CROWBAR, ROB ZOMBIE). Artwork was created by Shawn Garrett and Jean Saiz, reflecting the record’s post-apocalyptic themes of human collapse, survival, and rebirth.

The album showcases HOLLOW LEG’s most varied and atmospheric songwriting to date, with layers of percussion, groove-heavy riffing, spaced-out guitar work, and a balance of sludge and melody that pushes the band into new sonic territory. Tracks like “Holy Water,” “Ride the Wave/Dig the Grave,” and “Last Tribe” dive deep into end-of-days scenarios — a choose-your-own-adventure soundtrack for the end of the world and what might come after.

UK electronic artist Max Rael presents 'Brighter Future', teasing debut album 'The Enemy Is Us'

British electronic artist Max Rael has announced the forthcoming album 'The Enemy Is Us', his debut solo effort, out in June via London imprint Liquid Len Recording Company, preceded by a traditional A / B side single 'Brighter Future'.

An alternative electronic pop song with spoken word vocals, 'Brighter Future' questions avoidant strategies of coping with life in a seemingly increasingly chaotic and unsafe world and queries how can we reverse course from an anticipated dystopian future.

The non-album B-side 'The People We Love Have Won (Persistence Is All)' is a darker beast, named after Coil's 2000 London performance at The Royal Festival Hall, which also happens to be tattooed on the inside of Rael's left wrist.

Spoken word, electronic music and loud drums can all be expected on the impending 12-track album, produced and mixed by Max Rael with additional mixing by Caden Clarkson and mastered by Pete Maher (U2, Nick Cave, Depeche Mode, Pixies. Nine Inch Nails). Fusing a range of electronic music styles with other genres, Max Rael is a master journeyman of existential exploration into humanity, self, society, reality, psychology, philosophy and the future.

"Whilst I naturally tend to be drawn towards darker and more melancholy themes, sometimes creativity needs to be a reaction to the world around us. I felt I needed to take some creative responsibility, and not push more negativity out into a world that already feels like its drowning, like kicking somebody when they're already down," says Max Rael.

"While it's natural, and sometimes necessary, to explore difficult realities through art, and I've done my share of that, I believe there's also a vital role for artists and dreamers to imagine and articulate possibilities for hope and improvement. Drawing inspiration from John Higgs's thought-provoking ideas, where in 1977 it was a defiant and shocking statement when The Sex Pistols said, ‘No Future’, today perhaps the true rebellion involves standing up and saying, ‘Yes Future’… A Brighter Future."

Musician, writer, actor, engineer and producer, Max Rael has remixed such artists as Fish (Marillion), Last July, Kommand + Kontrol, Bienheldenschafgegenstand and Freudstein. He is also behind electro-goth trailblazers History Of Guns, formed in Hertfordshire in 1996. Frontrunners of the Wasp Factory / FuturePunk scene of the early 2000s, their single 'Your Obedient Servant' was championed by The Quietus and Mick Mercer among the “thirty best goth singles of all time”.

Renowned for their meta-modernist Industrial sound, 2024 saw the release of their 'Half Light' album, their eighth record to date and second since 2022's return from a ten-year hiatus. They also kicked off 2025 with the single  'Little Miss Suicide (25)', marking 25th years since releasing their debut single.

As of April 22, 'Brighter Future' is available from fine digital platforms, including Amazon, and also directly from the artist via Bandcamp. The full album 'The Enemy Is Us' will be released on June 20 via Liquid Len Recording Company.

Today, Swiss hard rockers SHAKRA are excited to unveil their new single “Burning Heart,”out via Frontiers Music Srl. The new single is accompanied by a lyric video, available below.

 

“Burning Heart” is a special track that was originally recorded during the sessions for the 'Invincible' album. The session files were lost for years and were only rediscovered by accident during the band’s 30th anniversary preparations. The track now marks the band’s first official release on Frontiers Music Srl.

Teen Metal Band Chained Saint Announce First-Ever Tour

Teen metal band CHAINED SAINT — comprised of four high school students Ethan Kahn (17, guitar), Sebastian De Avila (18, bass), Cameron Cottrell (19, drums) and Sean Sterling (18, vocals) — were one of the most hotly tipped bands of 2024. In just a few short months, Revolver, Guitar World, Loudwire, and Judas Priest legend Rob Halford praised the band for their chops. SiriusXM's Liquid Metal added the band to their playlist, and their debut single "Animosity" served as the theme song for the WWE 2K24 DLC 4 trailer in September.

The band is over the moon to announce its upcoming, first-ever headline tour of the U.S.

Chained Saint will also appear at several festivals through the year, including Welcome to Rockville, Rocklahoma, Louder Than Life, and VANS Warped Tour.

The past and present collide, resulting in modern, metallic maelstrom made by a bunch of kids who play with fire in their veins — and their hands! Blindside, produced by William DuVall of Alice In Chains, focuses that fury into a powerfully concise, eight-song LP. The album was recorded and mixed to analog tape with no computers involved whatsoever in the recording sessions. No AI. No studio trickery. No bullshit. Just real riffs made by real players.
