ICYMI, the band shared the official video for the song earlier this summer.  Watch it here.  The video was directed by David Brodsky of MyGoodEye. ABOUT POST PROFIT:
Some would say Post Profit have been waiting for this moment since the cradle, with each member being introduced to musical instruments between the ages of 2 to 6.

Zach and Matt forged a friendship as toddlers ever since their moms became best friends from church in Longview, TX. Nick would later learn of Matt's vocal prowess through the high school intercom. "Matt's father was the high school principal," explains Nick. "And he'd have Matt on there in the mornings singing about refraining from drugs and alcohol and striving for good school attendance."

Over the next few years, the trio would really get to know each other from attending and performing at local shows. Nick and Zach especially hit it off and quickly became inseparable, spending much of their time listening to music, eager to put their own band together. Meanwhile, Matt was sinking his teeth into a Dallas based metalcore band called Far From Earth.

During early 2017, Matt started hosting open jams every Sunday at a smoky East Texas dive bar and one night asked Zach to join on drums. Zach dragged his new friend Nick along on guitar and the trio quickly formed a strong musical bond. They would soon start slipping originals into their covers sets and after months of unrelenting practices and bar jams they booked their first show at a Halloween party in Tyler, TX.

With the experience of countless gigs across the South, Post Profit soon gained a reputation for their commanding and impactful live performance, including powerful 2021 and 2022 performances at Welcome To Rockville in Daytona, FL. Rallying around influences such as Deftones, Incubus, Failure, and Quicksand, the band refined their original songs and sound into what would become their 2022 debut self-produced album When You Think It's Right It's Always Wrong. The release garnered over a million cumulative streams independently, and the success of their single "Smother" grabbed the attention of SharpTone Records, eventually landing them a deal.

When it was time to hit the road in support of their 2024 Self Defeater EP, the guys turned to Los Angeles native Charles Horin to round out the lineup on bass. "Charles was previously in a band called Analog Party," explains Nick. "And they had very heavy influences from Failure, one of our favorite bands, so we knew right away he would be a great fit musically."

With the release of Self Defeater, Post Profit have you right where they want you, existing in a constant state of evolution while ushering hard rock forward with them. Masterfully crafted to leave the listener wanting more, this is Post Profit letting the world know who they are.

Backroad balladeer JC Miller presents 'Tombstone Junction', a dirge for a bygone era

"It isn’t just Americana; his songs feel like small vignettes in the everyday lives of ordinary people scraping a hard-fought living" ~ Big Takeover Magazine

"Miller takes us on a heartfelt journey. This veteran American storyteller's work is rooted in the rich soil of country music, the songs grapple with the heart of this nation. Infectious melodies and down-home grit weave an unforgettable tapestry, showcasing a true master of the craft" ~ Complete Country

"With talent and authenticity,.there's a realness to JC Miller's songwriting, focused on everyday struggles and the invisible and indivisible connection between past and present" ~ Rock-n-Roll.Biz

"Candid and catchy, this riveting and memorable music takes us to another time and place. With its frank lyrics, infectious melody, and pure Southern rock grit, this is a must-listen, packing an emotional punch and showcasing impressive musical talent... the elements that allowed such artists as Wilco and Ryan Adams to transcend legendary status" ~ Amplify Music Magazine

Seasoned country-rock artist JC Miller presents his new single 'Tombstone Junction', following the path of a true-grit American songwriter. Released via American indie imprint Tilt Records, JC Miller once again takes us on a captivating journey across the American landscape.

In a world that's constantly moving forward, leaving behind a trail of fading memories, Miller's new piece delves into the profound sense of loss that accompanies the erosion of the past. 'Tombstone Junction' is a poignant exploration of the yearning for connection to our roots and the wisdom that can be gleaned from the echoes of our ancestors.

JC Miller's music takes form through the music alchemy enjoyed with celebrated musician-producer Marty Rifkin, who is known for his work with Tom Petty, Glen Campbell and Jewel, in addition to playing pedal steel guitar in Bruce Springsteen's The Sessions Band.

"Tombstone Junction is a kind of stand-in metaphor for the tremendous sense of loss we feel when we are disconnected from the past. When that continuity breaks, as it is pretty much nowadays, we lose our way. The future’s not here yet, what’s there to say about that? The past has so many answers to recurring questions and there are so many different threads to trace down and revisit. We can learn so much from that which came before. That repeating sense of yearning for something that no longer exists is something I feel mostly all the time - memories from childhood, favorite places, road trips," says JC Miller.

"I love smaller intimate moments and places, more than the famous or grandiose ones. Tombstone Junction was a theme park that burned down twice and was mismanaged, but it was also a place where Dolly Parton, Randy Travis, Conway Twitty, Loretta Lynn, and a ton of others played live concerts. That venue is gone but echoes of the music and the ghostly memories of the concert goers remain. Those performances were shared experiences with these masters of a craft I admire, study, and look to".

Back with his unique blend of southern rock, second-line funk, woodsy blues and outlaw country balladry, this latest offering follows a hearty string of singles that include 'Dead Horse Ranch', 'Sundown Slim','Wayward Son' and 'Before Nightfall'.

Now based in Los Angeles, this prolific Detroit-born guitarist and songwriter weaves stories through the prism of sonic archaeology, unearthing the spirit of Americana and giving it voice through resonant melodies and via geographic landmarks discovered on his own personal journeys. Miller crafts relatable songs that are rooted in the fabric of America, his work infused in deep affection for its Southern realms.

Evoking a grounded sense of place through his music, Miller's sound has a Southern-fried edge and a transportive authenticity. He makes songs that feel at home in neon-lit diners, long highway drives, desert expanses, and sun-soaked small towns. Miller pays homage to his guitar and songwriting heroes, inspired by timeless artists like Neil Young, Leon Russell and The Band as much as the unfussy yet potent prose of writers like Larry McMurtry, Ernest Hemingway and Cormac McCarthy.

Music is a labor of love for JC Miller, having spent years as a sideman and composing for corporate titans like Levi's, Coca-Cola and Nike. Now he's ditched the boardroom for the pleasure of creating his own music.

Imbued with an intentional sense of timelessness, JC Miller crafts anthems that resonate with the soul of America, inspired by the gradual rediscovery of history - of his own family’ and America at large. Tastefully blending classic Americana and rock echoes from history, woven through his masterful guitar work, each song is like a map, charting the path to self-discovery.

As of August 30, 'Tombstone Junction' is available everywhere online, including SpotifyApple Music and elsewhere, where his latest series of stunning singles may also be found.

Royal & The Serpent Release Cover Of Lead Belly's "Where Did You Sleep Last Night"

LA-based alternative singer/songwriter Royal & The Serpent has joined the growing list of heavy hitters contributing to the official soundtrack for Sumerian Comics' 'American Psycho' comic book series. Today's release sees her lend her unique spin to Lead Belly's "Where Did You Sleep Last Night?", produced by Keith “Ten4” Sorrels of The Orphanage & Alex Nice. Listen to the song HERE and watch the official music video below.

Speaking on her contribution to the American Psycho Comic Book Series Soundtrack, Royal & The Serpent shares:

"I'll never forget the first time I watched the iconic Nirvana MTV unplugged performance. My heart nearly stopped when I heard Kurt's rendition of "Where Did You Sleep Last Night". I've been dreaming of covering this song for the entire length of my career - and this opportunity seemed like the perfect fit. I was able to get into the studio with a long time collaborator of mine - Keith Sorrells - and lose myself in the music. I recorded the entire song in one take, lying on the floor in a pitch black vocal booth, channeling all of the depth the song holds. Thank you again to Sumerian Records for having me - what a pleasure this was to create."

Nathan Yocum, President of Sumerian Comics, adds:

“Royal & the Serpent's haunting rendition of 'Where Did You Sleep Last Night' perfectly captures the mood of our 'American Psycho' comic book series, blending raw emotion with a dark, modern edge. This is a dream collaboration for our team and it couldn’t have turned out better!”

The 'American Psycho' comic book series by Sumerian Comics is a bold reimagining of Patrick Bateman’s notorious saga. The five-issue series delves into a dual storyline format; one tracing the chilling exploits of Bateman, and the other introducing a contemporary narrative featuring Charlene Carruthers—a social media-savvy millennial whose descent into violence mirrors the chilling escalation of her predecessor. This innovative take reinterprets the iconic tale with a story written by Michael Calero (Quested), vivid artwork by Piotr Kowalski (The Witcher, Bloodborne, Sex) and striking colors by Brad Simpson (Kong of Skull Island, Stray Dogs, Blade Runner Origins).

Today's release joins previously released tracks from the likes of Carpenter Brut feat. Krystoffer Rygg who released a cover of Billy Idol's "Eyes Without A Face", Ice Nine Kills feat. Reel Big Fish, who gave the Katrina and The Waves smash hit, "Walking On Sunshine" the ska punk treatment, Puscifer, who recorded a brand new, original single, "The Algorithm" for the comic book series, Unlike Pluto who covered Eurythmics "Sweet Dreams", Perturbator, who covered "Dangerous" by Depeche Mode and Ramsey, who covered Leadbelly's "Where Did You Sleep Last Night". Between them, the previously released tracks have racked up over 6.1 million streams with current sales for the comic book series topping 80,000 units.

Fans of the 'American Psycho' franchise can look forward to more from the accompanying soundtrack for the comic book series that perfectly complements the visual frenzy and deepens the narrative's impact, making each issue a multifaceted experience of sight and sound. Head to the Sumerian Comics website for more information and to order your copies of 'American Psycho'.

About Royal & the Serpent

Royal & the Serpent is an artist entirely unafraid to bare the deepest and darkest parts of her psyche. After making her Atlantic Records debut with the 2020 EP, get a grip – highlighted by the RIAA Gold-certified single “Overwhelmed,” which spent 22 weeks on Billboard’s “Alternative Airplay” chart – the L.A.-based singer-songwriter revealed even more of her frenetic inner world in 2022 with IF I DIED WOULD ANYONE CARE and Happiness Is An Inside Job. Royal introduced fans to the “royalverse” in 2023, dropping 4 double-sided RAT TRAP singles throughout the year. Among the highlights, RAT TRAP I: the blueprint features the powerfully inspiring, fan favorite LGBTQ+ anthem, “One Nation Underdogs.” *RAT TRAP 2: the burn *****arrived next, followed by RAT TRAP 3: the band-aid and RAT TRAP 4: the burden.

Originally from New Jersey, Royal started in dance and theatre, and first took up guitar at age 14, then relocated to L.A. at age 18. While working as a bartender, Royal soon started self-releasing her music, beginning with her spellbinding 2017 single “Temperance.” Thanks to the buzz behind songs like 2019’s “Weddings & Funerals” and “Salvador Dali” – as well as her electrifying live show – she eventually inked a deal with Atlantic and released “Overwhelmed” in the early days of Covid lockdown.

Royal’s unfiltered songwriting has proved wildly resonant to her ever-growing fanbase, building a close-knit community of fans undeniably drawn to her one-of-a-kind balance of intense sensitivity and unruly self-possession. “The main reason I make music is that it’s the best therapy I could ever ask for: the process of taking everything in my brain and putting it on paper and then singing it out loud for people is so helpful and healing for me. The idea that my own expression can affect people in positive ways is such a blessing and a gift; I don’t ever take it lightly. I just want to keep telling my truth and reach as many people as I possibly can, and see where this little journey takes us.

John Van Deusen Announces New Album "Anthem Sprinter" + Shares "Comeback Wrecker"

Today, Van Deusen shares the new single "Comeback Wrecker."

"'Comeback Wrecker' is officially the oldest song I have ever recorded and released," Van Deusen says. "I wrote the chorus when I was 14. The song is about desire, shame, and cathartic anger. Musically, I wanted it to sound like a mixture of Sonic Youth, Sunny Day Real Estate, and Face to Face. It's just a lot of fun to play."

... And a lot of fun to listen to, as well!

Anthem Sprinter explores shame, isolation, and angst with Van Deusen's typical earnestness and fervor. It serves as his sixth solo LP and his second for Tooth & Nail Records, Anthem Sprinter is a "time capsule" record of once-abandoned songs, and it serves as a sort of prequel to Van Deusen's four-part conceptual album series, (I Am) Origami

 Pre-order it here.

Recorded at Ranch Land Studios with producer Andy D. Park, Anthem Sprinter is a magnetic take on a heavy, "Y2K radio rock" sound. It's covered in nimble riffs and filled with capital-B "Big" drums, further supported by snappy hooks and Van Deusen's emotive yet deftly controlled vocal performances. Anthem Sprinter holds the chaos and beauty of youth in two open hands, not forsaking one for the other, and it challenges the listener to do the same.

John Van Deusen lives in Anacortes, Washington with his wife and two children. He also plays in the pop group, Telephone Friends.

About:
Germany’s Nu Death powerhouse OCEANS are back with unprecedented ferocity since their debut EP in 2018. Brace yourself for their third album HAPPY, a colossal juggernaut that once again showcases the band's ability to seamlessly fuse Nu Metal, Death Metal and Post Rock into their own signature sound. The days of subtle introversion seem to be over. As the world faces one crisis after another, OCEANS are channeling their frustration at the state of the world into a bold statement against the influence of social media on society, while staying true to their mission of promoting mental health awareness. This band has never sounded as angry as they do now, and these 11 songs are impressive proof of how well that emotion suits them. Surely this is also what convinced Australia's finest, keyboardist MISSTIQ and Josh Collard from EARTH CALLER, to take part as feature artists on two tracks. OCEANS ’previous album Hell Is Where The Heart Is put the band on the road with international acts like BLIND CHANNEL in 2022, as well as supporting ANNISOKAY in 2024. It’s safe to say that HAPPY will ignite massive mosh pits on their upcoming extensive European tour with SEPTICFLESH in October 2024.

OCEANS is:
Timo Rotten | vocals, guitar
Patrick Zarske | guitar
Thomas Winkelmann | bass
J.F. Grill | drums

InTheosis (Feat. Members of Extol) Share "Purge(d)"

InTheosis is the brainchild of Norwegian Grammy-nominated Extol vocalist, Peter Espevoll, and Australian Gold producer Jon Reichardt. On paper it would seem like an unlikely fit, as the two have found success in very different musical genres, but in reality the collaboration makes perfect sense.

Today, they have shared their second single "Purge(d)" at Outburn.

Watch + listen below.

"Peter and I wanted to do something heavy and straightforward," says Reichardt. "I had been listening to a lot of Spiritbox's and Northlane's more recent releases and wanted to hone in on combining the heavy low-tuned guitars with synths and big drums. Thematically, we drew from the biblical idea that all must pass through a metaphorical fire in order to be cured from the traumas and darkness we face and carry in this life. We'll all be 'purged' one day."

He continues, "While 'Mysteria' displays versatility, 'Purge(d)' is a heavy, groove-oriented modern metal track with a big melodic hook. We wanted listeners to hear early on that although we have some prog elements in several of our songs, this project very much embraces pop sensibilities and simplicity if the song calls for it. We hope fans enjoy 'Purge(d)' and get some head-banging out of their system!"

The band previously shared the debut single "MYSTERIA" over at New Noise. Listen here

Despite living on opposite sides of the globe, the two have more in common than most.  Both are third culture kids having faced years of complex trauma respectively. Both experienced music as tormenter and healer. Both are learning how to live with the scars of the past, hoping to create meaning and solidarity from suffering.  InTheosis is the musical representation of this journey as the two find solace in the ancient and sacred, but also the dissonant and jaded. Everything will be made beautiful in its time.

Vulvodynia Unleashes New Music Video for "The Randlord" from Critically Acclaimed Album 'Entabeni'

South African slamming deathcore giants Vulvodynia have unleashed the official music video for their hard-hitting track "The Randlord," taken from their latest album 'Entabeni,' released earlier this summer via Unique Leader Records. Watch the official video below.

"The Randlord" is a sonic onslaught that showcases Vulvodynia’s brutal yet technically excellent approach to extreme metal. The track dives into the darker aspects of South Africa's history, with a title that references the magnates who exploited the country's gold and diamond resources in the late 19th century. The accompanying video is as intense as the track itself, featuring live footage from various stops on the band's recent US run with Fallujah, using the the pure, unadulterated ferocity of the Vulvodynia live experience to backdrop the theme of the track.

Vulvodynia vocalist Lwandile Prusent comments on the release:

“The Randlord is written from the perspective of a wealthy, glutinous, maniacal, narcissist who has discovered that mass monetary gain directly coincides with absolute positions of power. The concept is based on the European financiers and capitalists who took control of the diamond and gold mining industries in South Africa from the late 1800s.

We wanted the vibe of this track to have a certain braggadocious swagger whilst simultaneous showcasing the brainwashed perspective of the citizens that have turned into devoted followers of The Rand Lord.

During our most recent North American tour with Fallujah we filmed all the footage of this video in various venues to multiple amazing crowds. After the release of this video we are set to hit the road once again this September and bring our live show to Australia and New Zealand.”

"Randlord" is the latest single from 'Entabeni,' an album that has been heralded as Vulvodynia’s most ambitious and cohesive work to date. The record is deeply rooted in African folklore and history, exploring the intersection of myth and reality through the lens of extreme metal. Earning multiple 9/10 reviews from the like of Ghost Cult Magazine who state "To say the record is “heavy” is insulting. Vulvodynia don’t do heavy, they do “massive enough that it would exceed the maximum capacity for modern elevators.”, New Transcendence, who call the album " A lesson in savagery from start to finish," and claim that "Vulvodynia have brought to the world one of the few can’t-miss records of 2024.” Dead Rhetoric who assert that "Entabeni is an easy nod for the strongest extreme metal release of the year."

Reflecting on the album’s significance, Vulvodynia states,

“Entabeni is a very important album for us, it sees us at crossroads in our career. We’ve fully embraced the idea of writing as a collective, exploring every member’s ideas, experiences and formed them all together to create what we think is our most ambitious album yet. We wanted to explore the concept of African folklore on this album and based a lot of the songs off of old stories found in poems, books and even through word of mouth from our vocalist Lwandile’s older family members.”

Having just finished a huge and successful US tour with Fallujah, Vulvodynia now set their sights on decimating venues across Asia, Australia and New Zealand next month. For tickets and further info head HERE.

ABOUT VULVODYNIA

Formed in Durban, South Africa, Vulvodynia has rapidly ascended the ranks of the global metal scene with their crushing blend of deathcore and slam. Known for their ferocity and technical skill, the band has garnered a dedicated following and critical acclaim for their relentless approach to both music and live performance. 'Entabeni,' their latest album, is a bold step forward, weaving together the band's signature brutality with deep cultural narratives drawn from African heritage.

Pete International Airport (The Dandy Warhols' Peter G. Holmström) shares 'Sea of Eyes', loaded taste of new EP

Portland-based Pete International Airport presents the new single 'Sea of Eyes' featuring vocalist Alexander Hackett of Montreal dream-gaze outfit Pang Attack. This is the first offering from PIA's new 'Sea of Eyes' EP, set for release in November via cult label Little Cloud Records, accompanied by an intriguing shadow-dance video, directed by Francesca Bonci.

Pete International Airport revolves around Peter G. Holmström of The Dandy Warhols and Sun Atoms, whose sonic vision takes us on a meticulously crafted psychedelic journey into the dark heart of electronic rock. Named after a Dandies song, this project nails the elusive aesthetic of unexpected yet inviting sound art. PIA's quest to build immersive soundscapes that are also timeless songs is successful, in part, due to Holmström’s uncanny ability to curate and his penchant for dropping collaborators into challenging creative spaces—both virtual and actual—then letting them duke it out.

The 'Sea of Eyes' EP consists of five tracks that are rooted in PIA's third album 'It Felt Like The End of the World', released in late 2023 - all five of them co-authored with and featuring vocals by Alexander Hackett.

"'Sea Of Eyes' was one of the first tracks that got started for 'It Felt Like The End Of The World'. I tried to invent my own guitar tuning (CGCGCD). Of course, someone had done it before, but I got a cool chord sequence that felt good to play for 5+ minutes.  I tried adding a chorus, but it never felt right, so that became the Outro," explains Peter G. Holmström.

"I had been obsessing on The Cure’s 'Fascination Street' (especially the bass line) and my first attempt at something similar ended up sounding like Simon Gallup goes dub. The other part of the attempt became the Bass VI melody. Daniel Sparks added an amazing modular synth “trumpet” sound that captured perfectly the claustrophobic atmosphere of the pandemic."

'Sea of Eyes' EP pre-order  https://peteinternationalairport.bandcamp.com/album/sea-of-eyes

Just as the latest album, the 'Sea of Eyes' EP was mixed by Jeremy Sherrer at Spooky Electric Co. (Modest Mouse, The Shins, The Dandy Warhols), this EP was mastered by Dave Coley at Elysian Mastering. While most tracks were recorded at Holmström’s Air Traffic Control studio in Portland, all drums were recorded at The Trench Studios by Gregg Williams, who engineered The Dandy Warhols’ albums ‘13 Tales From Urban Bohemia’ and ‘Odditorium or Warlords of Mars’.

"I really wanted to showcase Alexander Hackett’s vocal and lyrical contributions to my record so, using the excuse of a video for 'Sea of Eyes' to release an EP of remixes seemed like a good idea.  Of course lots of remixes don’t use the vocals…anyway…I got to work with Andy Bell (Ride) and Tom Smith (Holy Youth Movement) as well as long time collaborator Daniel Sparks (omniscuro) to put it together," says Holmström.

"I first heard Pang Attack when SUUNS shared a track on their socials.  At first I was disappointed because it didn’t sound like SUUNS (I was obsessing on them hard) but, for some reason, I kept listening. There was something there that I connected with. Alex’s lyrics and melodic choices were perfect and I had to find out if he was interested in working with me. 'Sea Of Eyes' is the second song that Alex and I collaborated on. His lyrics perfectly capture the vibe of the world at that time".

The 'Sea of Eyes' EP is a logical progression (and continuation) of 'It Felt Like The End of the World' and the 'Tic Tac' 7" single, which jointly boast the cream of the neo-psychedelic crop, including Slowdive's Rachel GoswellThe Brian Jonestown Massacre's Anton Newcombe, Dion Lunadon (A Place To Bury Strangers, The D4), Cheap Trick's Tom Petersson, Lisa Elle of Dark Horses, and members of Sun Atoms, Guiding Light and Hopewell.

As of August 29, 'Sea of Eyes' will be released (digitally and on limited edition cassette) exclusively via Bandcamp, where the EP is available for pre-order and where 'It Felt Like The End of the World' is also available digitally, on CD and vinyl as a Deluxe double-album with gatefold sleeve. The 'Tic Tac' single with Rachel Goswell and it's 7" vinyl version are also available via Pete International Airport and The Dandy Warhols.

LA's dynamic Love Ghost & altrock titan SKOLD take a heady trip on 'Nightshade and Cocaine'

"This sonic rollercoaster effortlessly transitions between heavy, driving riffs and melodic, catchy choruses. Loaded with raw energy, the grunge influence is palpable with industrial rhythms and gothic elements providing an invigorating counterpoint – an auditory adventure worth taking" ~ Spill Magazine

Following the 2023 debut single 'Payback' by alt-rock maverick Love Ghost and industrial legend Tim Skold (SKOLD, Shotgun Messiah, KMFDM, Marilyn Manson, Motionless in White), they are back with ‘Nightshade and Cocaine’. With heavy guitars and pianos, this song is inspired by altered states of mind and witchcraft, setting the tone for the dark rock n’ roll soundscape of this album.

Now signed to iconic US label Metropolis Records, their debut 'Love Ghost x SKOLD' album from this creative partnership is scheduled for release on November 22. This creative partnership meshes the raw energy of grunge with the driving rhythms of industrial rock, embellished with pop and gothic sensibilities.

"We are very excited to share this first single 'Nightshade and Cocaine' from our forthcoming album 'Loveghost x SKOLD'. It’s not easy picking singles from this album but this one is a favorite of mine because the dynamics, it’s like a musical roller coaster, the highs and lows take you for a ride. This is also something that is reflected in the lyrics with almost lightheartedly dealing with some very heavy subjects,” says Tim Skold.

Finnegan Bell adds, “This is a sonic journey that touches on many topics such as personal introspection, losing and finding your soul, witchcraft, death, the afterlife, and even politics and war. Nightshade (also known as Belladona) is a flower that is intrinsically linked to witchcraft, particularly for flying, astral projection and as a symbol for death. This song is about altered states of mind and one’s psychology unraveling at the seams. This song is dynamic, unconventional and imaginative and is one of my favorites on the entire album”.

Apart from releasing music under the SKOLD moniker and as half of the duo Not My God (with Nero Bellum), Swedish musician and record producer Tim Skold is perhaps best known for his work with KMFDM, Shotgun Messiah, Marilyn Manson, and Motionless in White.  In addition to being a full-fledged band member of Marilyn Manson for several world tours, Skold produced their #1 Billboard US charting album 'The Golden Age of Grotesque', cover versions of 'Tainted Love', 'Personal Jesus' and the controversial album 'Eat Me, Drink Me'. He later co-produced two Motionless in White albums. As SKOLD, he has released several albums and toured extensively with Front Line Assembly and Motionless in White, among others.

Love Ghost is an enigmatic Los Angeles-based indie rock band, known for their distinctive blend of grunge, alternative rock and post-punk, informed by the Seattle tradition as much as Soundcloud-era fearlessness. Founded by vocalist-guitarist Finnegan Bell, the band quickly garnered attention for their mature lyrics, a multitude of collaborations and raw, energetic sound. They have toured extensively all over the world and have earned plaudits from such publications as Rolling Stone, Alternative Press, American Songwriter and New Noise.

"I still remember meeting Finn the first time because of his almost electric energy but it was my wife Erin’s idea that he and I should make music together. I have worked with many different artists by now but this one is still a unique and refreshing experience," says Tim Skold. "We came together with a special chemistry and I really feel that it is well represented in the music. The first single 'Nightshade and Cocaine' shows off an almost schizophrenic diversity that is a thread for the entire album."

Earlier, Nina Heckman of Metropolis Records shared, "The Love Ghost x SKOLD collaboration mixes both of their distinct sounds to make a new and unique album, which we are excited to bring to the public."

As of August 28, the 'Nightshade and Cocaine' single will be available everywhere digitally, including Bandcamp, where it can already be pre-ordered. The full 'Love Ghost and SKOLD' album will be released on November 22.

Michael Schenker Shares New Single "Only You Can Rock Me"

Following the success of his first two singles "Mother Mary" featuring Slash and Erik Grönwall, and "Rock Bottom" featuring Kai Hansen, legendary guitarist Michael Schenker is set to release the third single "Only You Can Rock Me" from his highly anticipated new album My Years with UFO.

This new single once again showcases an incredible lineup featuring Joey Tempest (Europe) on vocals, Roger Glover (Deep Purple) on bass, Derek Sherinian on keys, and Brian Tichy on drums. As we approach the album's release, the anticipation builds for what's set to be one of 2024's most exciting rock records!

Schenker's new album My Years with UFO is a tribute to the golden years that saw British hard rock band UFO rise from an underground phenomenon to rock legends.

Produced by Michael Schenker and Michael Voss, the new album marks the 50th anniversary of Schenker's era with UFO, spanning from 1972 to 1978. The "German Wunderkind" was asked to join UFO at just 17 years old. In the following years, Michael Schenker secured his place as one of rock’s most influential creators by composing UFO’s most beloved tracks, including "Doctor Doctor," "Rock Bottom," "Lights Out," "Love to Love" and many more.

Although Michael Schenker's era with UFO spanned only six years, his influence as a young songwriter and exceptional guitarist had already left a lasting mark on rock. During these meteoric years, the UFO albums Phenomenon, Force It, No Heavy Petting, Lights Out, Obsession, and the seminal live album Strangers in the Night were recorded, each contributing significantly to the genre. Strangers in the Night particularly stands out as one of the most influential live rock albums of all time and is still regarded as a cornerstone in any rock enthusiast's collection.

In this celebratory album, Michael Schenker presents 11 of UFO's greatest hits from this magical era with an impressive lineup of guest stars. Joining Schenker on this journey are Derek Sherinian on keys; Brian Tichy on drums; and Barry Sparks on bass.

The stellar roster of guest artists includes Axl Rose, Slash, Kai Hansen, Roger Glover, Joey Tempest, Biff Byford, Jeff Scott Soto, John Norum, Dee Snider, Joel Hoekstra, Joe Lynn Turner, Carmine Appice, Adrian Vandenberg, Michael Voss, Stephen Pearcy, and Erik Grönwall.

This album is the introduction to an upcoming trilogy, as Michael Schenker has signed an exclusive three-album deal with earMUSIC, with additional albums to follow in 2025 and 2026.

My Years with UFO will be released worldwide on September 20 via earMUSIC and is available for pre-order here.

HORRENDOUS Release Video for "Preterition Hymn"

This month marks one year since Horrendous brought the metal realm to its knees in worship of Ontological Mysterium. After exploding from the underground in 2018 with the cultishly beloved Idol, last year, the Philadelphia death metal band were the toast of the genre's critics.

Decibel, Metal Injection, BangerTV and Metal Hammer all listed Ontological Mysterium high atop their 2023 best-of lists, often right alongside the band's recent tour mates Tomb Mold. The album also cracked the Billboard charts, climbing well inside the Top 10 of the Current Hard Music Albums.

Today, Horrendous are celebrating the first anniversary of Ontological Mysterium with their first-ever music video. The album's slow-burning triump "Preterition Hymn" now comes with a glorious film treatment that's worthy of a Viking funeral.

Watch the video for "Preterition Hymn" Below.

"Our long awaited video debut is a symbolic journey through the lyrical themes of 'Preterition Hymn'", the band says. "It's a psalm for the lowly and the damned, the Preterite and the passed over, sitting beneath the feet of the elect. Our downtrodden heroes are driven in chains by a mournful god to their final trial in this realm, sounding their last desperate cries in defiance of the fate bestowed upon them--and upon all of us. Is their sacrifice enough to win salvation? To rise in glorious flames? In communion with the spirit of the song, we endured the pain of icy November waters, risking life and limb to capture and offer up an authentic sacrifice in the name of the Preterite ones. Lift your voices along with our heroes that you may ascend before the tides rise again…"

Ontological Mysterium is available now through Season of Mist.

WITHIN DESTRUCTION Sign With Sumerian Records; Drop New Single "Demon Child"

Slovenian metal trailblazers Within Destruction announced today that they have inked a brand new deal with globally renowned independent label, Sumerian Records, marking a significant milestone in the band's career. To celebrate this monumental signing, the band has unleashed a blistering new single, "Demon Child," accompanied by a high-octane music video shot on location in Tokyo, Japan, a visual feast, particularly for fans of sports cars and Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift. Stream the track HERE and watch the official music video below.

Vocalist Rok Rupnik delves into the inspiration behind the track, sharing, “Before I even started writing lyrics, I’ve listened to the song a couple of times and immediately knew the final words of the chorus would be 'Demon Child,' which also ended up being the title of our second single. The lyrics dive into the nature of a love-hate relationship, where one would rather embrace a passionate turmoil over a mundane life.”

Guitarist Howard Fang and drummer Luka Vezzosi add, “We’ve had a lot of fun during the preproduction of the song which is getting released pretty much in the initially envisioned idea. This time we went with a fast-paced song built around a catchy singalong chorus with a blegh breakdown as a cherry on top. The only funny thing about this song is the fact that it was supposed to be without a breakdown, but while we were in the studio tracking the song, we found a place for it at the last minute and we think it works really well.”

About Within Destruction

Within Destruction are an innovative metal group from Slovenia. They have been disrupting the deathcore and metalcore scenes since their formation in 2010. Known for their intense sound, the band uniquely incorporates electronic elements and anime samples into their music, adding layers of unpredictability that have captivated fans worldwide. They gained international recognition with their 2016 album 'VOID,' and their irreverent approach to metal, which has built a dedicated global following.

Their third album, 'DEATHWISH,' which was mixed and mastered by Will Putney, further solidified their reputation. Featuring fan-favorite tracks like "Human Defect" and the title track, leading to their first European headliner tour, as well as a breakthrough in the U.S. market. In 2020, they took a bold step with 'YOKAI,' an album that divided fans by blending metalcore with electronic and trap influences, all while integrating anime-inspired themes.

Continuing to push boundaries, the band released 'LOTUS' in 2022, leaning further into metalcore and embracing clean vocals, which sparked both outrage and admiration among listeners. Known for their ambitious live performances and relentless dedication, Within Destruction remains a force in modern metal, constantly evolving and challenging genre norms.

Now, with their signing to Sumerian Records and the release of their latest single "Demon Child," Within Destruction continues to carve out their place as innovators in the heavy music landscape.

SVEN GALI RETURN WITH EXPLOSIVE COMEBACK ALBUM BOMBS AND BATTLESCARS, INTERNATIONAL RELEASE SET FOR SEPTEMBER 13TH, 2024

Sven Gali's trademark blend of heavy riffs, gritty vocals, and anthemic melodies span decades. Cutting their teeth in the bar circuit of Southern Ontario, Canada in the late 80’s, Sven Gali’s live show was a full on circus of sex, drugs and rock n’ roll.

Emerging with a record deal with BMG, Sven Gali released their debut self-titled release in 1992. From the first chord of “Under The Influence” Sven Gali made their mark. Follow up singles “Tie Dyed Skies” and “In My Garden” paved the way for the ballad number 6 CanCon song of 1993 that also went Top 10 nationwide, “Love Don’t Live Here Anymore.”

As the album went Gold, Sven Gali won the MuchMusic Best Metal Video Award in 1993 for “Under The Influence” and was nominated for two Junos. With a worldwide release, Sven Gali toured with the likes of Def Leppard, Foreigner and April Wine.

Sven Gali’s follow-up, Inwire, was partly recorded in in Seattle with producer Kelly Gray and saw the band take on a more alternative experimental tone. The band broke up soon after the album’s release and played sporadic shows before solidifying a new lineup with original members Dave Wanless (vocals), Andy Frank (guitar) and TT (bass) bringing in guitarist Sean Williamson and drummer Dan Fila from former BMG labelmates Varga.

Sven Gali’s new release, Bombs And Battlescars, released through Canadian label Music In Motion Ent and distributed worldwide through Deko Entertainment, combines the best of both Sven Gali eras. The album contains five new originals. “One Gun” is a relentless driver that sets the battlefield ablaze with its blistering guitar work and commanding vocals. The massive groove of “Coming Home” and fierce anthem “Monster” showcase Sven Gali's unapologetic attitude while the sonic prowess of “Life Inside” stands side by side with any current alternative metal peers. Closer “Nothing New” showcases the melodic side of the band with a catchy acoustic groove.

Bombs And Battlescars also brings the band full circle with a cover of Triumph’s “Spellbound.” Recorded at Toronto’s Metalworks studio where many of Sven Gali’s early songs were recorded and demoed, acclaimed Coney Hatch frontman Andy Curran produced the track bringing the song into the modern age. Triumph drummer Gil Moore also appears in the video. The album is filled out with three remastered unreleased tracks from the band’s 90’s recording vault.

Sven Gali celebrates the US and European releases of Bombs And Battlescars on Friday, September 13, for both physical and streaming. The latest video for for “Coming Home” is gathering steam, and additional videos from the album for “One Gun” and “Monster” and the Triumph cover “Spellbound” can be viewed on their YouTube channel. The band’s latest single, “Life Inside,” along with the video for the song is set to come out with the release.

Bombs And Battlescars on CD and limited edition army green vinyl are available through retail.

BlessTheFall Drop "Drag Me Under" Video — WATCH // Touring This Fall

In Spring 2023, the Arizona quartet — Beau Bokan [vocals], Eric Lambert[guitar], Jared Warth [bass], and Elliott Gruenberg [guitar] — dropped "Wake the Dead," their first new track in five years. It has already accred a whopping 10 million streams.

Today, the band has shared the video for the recently released new single — "Drag Me Under," featuring Alpha Wolf's Lochie Keogh. And yes, it rips. The song was co-written by Tony Cappocchi from Dragged Under and produced and mixed by Hiram Hernandez.

 Watch the video below.

"The first time I heard the instrumental for 'Drag Me Under,' my mind was absolutely blown away," says Bokan. "This song punishes you relentlessly then lets you breathe for about four seconds then continues to punish. I knew we needed a top tier feature to really make this song stand out so we recruited Lochie Keogh from Alpha Wolf. It's pretty obvious this song is totally different than anything we're ever done but still sounds like Blessthefall.”

Blessthefall will also embark on a headline tour. It kicks off August 28 in Berkley, California and runs through September 28 in Davenport, Iowa. All dates are below. Get tickets here

blessthefall's notched back-to-back Top 25 debuts on the Billboard 200 with Hollow Bodies [2013] and To Those Left Behind [2015], while 2018's Hard Feelings marked their third straight Top 5 bow on the Top Alternative Albums Chart. With the latter, Unclear claimed the band "may have struck serious gold," while Alternative Press applauded how "blessthefall blend old-school vibes and a fresh new sound." Speaking to their enduring legacy, they've racked up hundreds of millions of streams with "Hey Baby, Here's That Song You Wanted" at 33.8 million Spotify streams followed by "Hollow Bodies" at 26.2 million Spotify streams in addition to landing syncs in franchises such as Splinter Cell. In the wake of a successful 10-year anniversary tour to celebrate Witness in 2019, blessthefall went quiet for the next two years. Between the global pandemic and various other gigs, the members still kept the lines of communication open. The band now emerges from a half-decade of dormancy, and not a moment too soon.

NYC power outfit THE GIRAFFES present 'Pipes', previewing eighth ‘Cigarette’ album

"Undeniably captivating. There’s a certain charm to their music with instrumentation and vocals that are absolutely assured and insanely fucking groovy. Offering a very cool melody, time-shifting and dramatism that builds in intensity, 'The Shot' is a superb and infectious single" ~ Amplify Music Magazine

"A band that effortlessly blends raw energy with complex musicianship. A thrilling return to form... A full-throttle angst-filled yet logical assault on the senses... Fans of the Jesus Lizard, Queens of the Stone Age and Fu Manchu will find their sonic sweet spot in their wild, edgy sound" ~ The Spill Magazine

Brooklyn alternative rock outfit The Giraffes presents 'Pipes',  a furious, psychedelic protest anthem born from the fear of widespread environmental neglect. This is the second taste of their eighth album 'Cigarette' - a hypnotic, psychedelic ethnic-tinged rock score for our current age of decay and disappointment, fear and fury, idiocy and hope.

This comes hot on the heels of lead track 'The Shot', a hypnotic rock-meets-psychedelic-surf earworm that shimmers between shadowy depths and sunlit crescendos. Known for their trademark menu of metal-tinged scuzz-rock, The Giraffes offer a tasteful mixture of heavy rock, punk, post-punk, surf and whatever else they find interesting.

Formed in 1996, they've been crafting a hedonistic soundtrack that is loud, agile, dangerous, funny, sick, complex and satisfying. With lead singer Aaron Lazar and guitar maestro Damien Paris as its core, drummer Andrew Totolos provides the locomotive rhythm section with Hannah Moorhead anchoring the bass. This year marks the beginning of a new era for the band, with Moorhead now also contributing backing vocals and songwriting. With the line-up no longer in flux, the focus is now largely on songwriting.

“Written in response to the Flint water crisis as I suspected it was going to become a more commonplace thing everywhere. Hate to say I was right. I grew up in a place much like flint -Youngstown OH, a former steel boomtown in the rust belt that is slowly crumbling due to population loss and divestment by the government. The feeling of invisibility that hits you when you realize you depend on an infrastructure that hasn't been maintained or thought about in a few generations and that now everyone you know may be poisoned by a few peoples contempt and negligence is something else," says Aaron Lazar.

“I tried to make a song about that feeling. The bass part was invented by Hannah and it has this bubbling rushing tumbling quality to it that suggests a torrent of bad news. The middle section has a psychedelic vocal tumult that is some of my favorite stuff I have done in the giraffes. Though depressing and bleak, it's still a rager. Lets all get into the pit for health and cleanliness.”

'Cigarette' is an album full of surprises, taking new risks with subject matter and composition while maintaining the intensity and dexterity fans know and love. Recorded & engineered by Andrew Totolos at Apesauce Studio, this was mixed by Grammy nominated producer Francisco Botero (Matisyahu, Odesza) at the iconic Studio G Brooklyn and by James Dellatacoma (Bill Laswell, Herbie Hancock, TS Monk, John Zorn, Angelique Kidjo) at Bill Laswell's famed Orange Music Sound Studio.

Four years since forming and two years since debuting with their 1998 album 'Franksquilt', The Giraffes finally found its true form as a band in 2000 when joined by vocalist Aaron Lazar. Upon releasing 'Helping You Help Yourself', their first album with Lazar in 2002, the band would stake its claim as the most unbridled and fun-loving Brooklyn live act. Indeed, with fierce musicality and peak audience participation, The Giraffes earned themselves a dedicated fan base.

From 2002, the band toured nationally and released four studio albums in succession, signing with various labels along the way. Their spaghetti western EP 'A Gentleman Never Tells' (2003) was followed by 'The Giraffes' album (2005), the 'Pretty In Puke' EP and the 'Prime Motivator' album (2008). Their epic 2010 concept album 'Ruled' proved to be Lazar's swan song before leaving the band in 2011. While his departure seemed to mark the end of an era, the embers of their explosive sound would later reignite, proving that this was not the band's final act.

2014 brought sold-out reunion concerts with Lazar back at the helm, reuniting fans from far and wide. Bolstered by their support, the Giraffes began developing new material, resulting in their sixth album 'Usury', released to critical acclaim in 2015.  Finally, 2019 brought a new lineup with the addition of bassist Hannah Moorhead (Netherlands, Twenty Two’s) and new impetus with the release of the 'Flower of the Cosmos' album and remixes by Swervedriver's Adam Franklin and notable hip-hop record producer Blockhead.

Over the years, The Giraffes have toured with Eagles of Death Metal, Local-H, The Vacation and Skeleton Key, and shared the stage with Interpol, Fishbone, Yeah Yeah Yeah's and The Strokes. They've played SXSW, Bonnaroo, Amsterjam, Voodofest, Monolith, Northside and CMJ Festivals, and landed sync licensing placements in the 'Guitar Hero' video game, Sundance Festival winning film 'I Don't Feel at Home in This World Anymore', and the forthcoming 'Toxic Avenger' remake.

As of August 27, The 'Pipes' single will be available everywhere, including Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp, where the 'Cigarette' album (out September 27) is now available for pre-order.

Zeal & Ardor Drop "Kilanova" Video — WATCH // New Album "GREIF" Out Now // Fall Tour On Deck

ZEAL & ARDOR isn't just a band; it's a living and breathing entity. Like any sentient being, it consumes, evolves, and transforms from one season to the next. It has only sharpened its claws, lengthened its teeth, and steeled its nerves over the years, growing more undeniable and unpredictable in the process.

The band dropped its fourth album, the self-produced GREIF, on August 23. Get it here.

Today, the band has shared the cinematic video for "Kilonova," which plays out like a short film against the backdrop of the song's tension.

Watch it below.

"A 'Kilonova' is when two supernovas collide," band leader Manguel Gagneuxstates. "It's the type of grandeur I'm after."

Now that you've had a moment to ponder and chew on that sentiment...

The band will return to North American soil with a headline tour that kicks off November 23 in Philadelphia and runs through December 18 in Dallas. Gaerea and Zetra will support. Get tickets here. All dates are posted below.

Rather than stagnating, basking in global acclaim garnered from three previous albums — Devil Is Fine [2017], Stranger Fruit [2018] and Zeal & Ardor [2022] — Manuel opted to shake things up for GREIF.

Instead of creatively flying solo again, this time he welcomed his bandmates into the studio, featuring three voices for the first time and emboldening the sound from every angle. As such, the musicians — Tiziano Volante [guitar], Marc Obrist [vocals], Denis Wagner [vocals], Lukas Kurmann [bass], and Marco Von Allmen [drums] — spread their wings alongside him. Decamping to Obrist's studio Hutch Sounds in Switzerland, the record came to life in just five months.

"We've really evolved into a tight-knit unit," explains Obrist. "Before Zeal & Ardor, we were basically strangers, but we're like a little family now. Each member brings his own unique flavor to the mix, and we all try to make Manuel's songs better in our own way. The most interesting part for me was the new approach of how we work together in the studio."

"I wanted to expand upon what we had and introduce new colors," Manuel continues. "There are angry and accusatory moments, but there’s also some solace and happiness. I’m widening the palette of colors we have to paint with. These are avenues we haven’t tried."

"We invite listeners to hear the full spectrum of the different sides and sounds that make Zeal & Ardor," Tiziano leaves off. "There are some gorgeous moments, but it packs in a lot of intensity and charm. In Manuel's songwriting and the process with every member, there's a certain intentionality as well as an element of randomness and accident. I can't wait to see people’s reactions."

In January 2024, ZEAL & ARDOR released Play With The Devil, a documentary film by Olivier Joliat and Matthias Willi. The documentary intimately chronicles Manuel Gagneux's journey from the inception of ZEAL & ARDOR through initial tours and a soul-searching period of crisis. The bold mix of Black Metal with old work songs and field hollers by the enslaved — his answer to a racist provocation on the internet — is politically explosive. As a person of color in metal, Gagneux and his music have shone a light on religion, racism, segregation, and cultural appropriation.  However, the sudden surge in acclaim and the weight of being hailed a visionary leader by fans threatened to overwhelm the softly-spoken, introverted artist. Play With The Devil is available now for streaming on major platforms. For more information and to watch, visit here.

Fountainhead, the musical alter-ego of Berlin-based musician Tom Geldschläger, is a celebrated figure across diverse music landscapes. Known for his expansive involvement in the music industry, Tom has contributed to over a hundred releases in capacities ranging from guitarist to orchestrator, producer to mixing/mastering engineer, and occasionally even as an oud-player. His collaborations span globally recognized artists such as Obscura, Belphegor, Marco Minnemann, Defeated Sanity, Amogh Symphony, Hannes Grossmann, Voodoogods, Christian Münzner, Nader Sadek. Featured in numerous international music magazines, authored several books of non-fiction and musical notation, Tom has also been instrumental in integrating the fretless guitar into extreme metal genres.

Acclaimed as a "modern-day guitar legend," Tom's signature playing style and adventurous genre-defying compositions highlight his fearless approach to music. His endorsements include prestigious brands like Aristides Guitars, Elixir Strings, and Bare Knuckle Pickups. Additionally, Tom is a sought-after clinician and speaker, focusing on creativity, music production, and musician's mental health, as well as being at the forefront of spatial audio and 360-degree audio production.

In a significant development in early 2024, Fountainhead, now branded under the name CHANGELING for his new project and album, signed with the label Season of Mist. This venture marks a new chapter in Tom's career, amplifying his visionary approach to music. Accompanied by an all-star band featuring members from Fear Factory, Alkaloid, and Virvum, the project CHANGELING showcases a 60-minute concept album that takes all aspects of Tom’s artistry to new heights.

The album, sharing its name with the project, blends progressive metal, death metal, jazz/fusion, and world music, enriched with complex orchestrations by a 50-piece ensemble of guest musicians. It includes the eagerly anticipated "Part 2" to his renowned composition "Weltseele," an orchestral metal epic from Obscura’s billboard-chart-entering "Akroasis" album, which broadly introduced Fountainhead to the metal community in 2016.
