Formed in late 2022, Vicious Rain are an alternative metalcore band hailing from Baden, Switzerland. The members bring several years of professional recording and live show experience to the mix. ARMORED DAWN's current lineup includes Eduardo Parras (vocals), Tiago de Moura and Timo Kaarkoski (guitars), Heros Trench (bass), Rafael Agostino(keyboards) and Chris Oliveira (drums).

ARMORED DAWN emerged in 2014 and quickly became dominant in the Brazilian metal scene. After all, there were tours and shows alongside great bands like SAXON, MEGADETH, SCORPIONS, WHITESNAKE, EUROPE, HAMMERFALL, RHAPSODY, FATES WARNIND, SABATON and TARJA.

The first two albums, Power of Warrior (2016) and Barbarians in Black (2018), were produced by big names Tommy Hansen (HELLOWEEN, JORN), Bruno Agra (WE ARE HARLOT) and Kato Khandwala (THE PRETTY RECKLESS, PAPA RPACH). The third album, Viking Zombie, was produced, mixed and mastered by Rodrigo Oliveira and Heros Trench.

Presenting a sophisticated and versatile metal, the group collects great works in videos, such as “Sail Away”, which had a cinematic overproduction, as well as “Beware of the Dragon”, exhibited in all cinemas in Brazil during the trailers for the film Aquaman in 2018. Over October 2023, the band performed five times in Argentina, and also played at the Mexican festival Hell & Heaven in the beginning of November.

THE HELLACOPTERS - Release Video For 'The Electric Index Eel (Revisited)' + "Grande Rock" Re-Release Containing Remastered And Revisited Versions

Swedish action rock legends THE HELLACOPTERS have announced the release date for the long overdue physical re-issue of their classic album Grande Rock from 1999, which hasn't been available to purchase on vinyl for over 20 years. This new edition of Grande Rock will be released on February 16th, 2024, as a 2LP, 2CD and digital edition all of which contain both the remastered original album as well as a revisited and remixed version with additional guitars by Dregen, plus additional percussion and piano and new backing vocal tracks. Just like the original release back in 1999, the vinyl edition exclusively features the Venom cover 'Angel Dust' as a bonus track.

Swedish high energy rock and roll band THE HELLACOPTERS released their eighth studio album titled Eyes Of Oblivion on April 1st, 2022. It marked the first full-length since the release of their temporary farewell record Head Off in 2008, and was met with massive acclaim from fans and media alike. Charting #1 in Sweden, #3 in Germany, #6 in Finland, the band celebrated a triumphant return culminating in a show with the mighty Iron Maiden in Gothenburg in July 2022, and gigs with Ghost in Germany in June 2023.

On February 16th, 2024 they will now release not one, but two stunning versions of their classic Grande Rock album. Entitled Grande Rock Revisited it has been remastered by Henke Jonsson, and furthermore has been completely remixed by Michael Ilbert at Hansa Studios, Berlin using the original multi-track tapes and reanimated with a whole lot of additional layers of rock! The result showcases how the record could have sounded in a parallel universe with Dregen being in the band at the time, and with a more balanced mix, something the band had been pondering about for quite a while. “We all love loud guitars”, Nicke explains, “but not at the expense of drums and bass, which is pretty much the gist of the original mix. Skid Row were never a band that was going to let anything get in their way, and their latest video for "Resurrected" takes that idea to the ultimate next level.

Directed by Frank Gryner, who has created eye-popping videos for Alice Cooper and Def Leppard, and from an original concept by Skid Row's Rachel Bolan, the video captures the band in a new environment, showcasing their versatility as they confidently tackle a formidable challenge.

"Being a fan of animation, I was very excited when the opportunity to do an animated video was presented to us," recalls Bolan. "I really wanted to give the video a sci-fi feel that would convey that you can conquer anything, no matter how big the monster, even if it lives within the parameter of your inner circle."

Since releasing The Gang's All Here in 2022, Skid Row have been non-stop conquering all that there is to conquer. HELFRÓ Streaming Deathly New Album

HELFRÓ are coming back in from the cold with Tálgröf. The Icelandic duo's second album is inspired by the myriad dark manifestations of the human mind. Through intense rhythmic passages, sick drummer Ragnar Sverrisson and axeman Simon Thorolfsson  delve into the most depraved cavities of the human psyche, while melting their native black metal with traditional, fiery death metal and tortured lyrics.      

Tálgröf comes out this Friday, December 1. But you can listen to all nine hell-raising tracks on HELFRÓ's new album today, thanks to Black Metal Promotion.

"Tálgröf is a high octane, extremely entertaining album", according to Metal Sucks, "...the future looks very bright for a band that spends a good portion of their year shrouded in complete darkness".  

Lead single Fláráð Fræði puts a fresh, icy-cold twist on the blackened-death metal  that HELFRÓ carved out on their self-titled debut album, with tremolo riffs that rain down with all the fury of a hailstorm.

"Ildi Óhreins Anda" chugs along a melodic groove, though the song is more sinister than it lets on. The lyrics on Tálgröf  are based on interviews, journals and features on mass murders. "Traðkandi Blómin í eigin Hjartagarði" is about how these killers would poison themselves with mind-altering substances and sleep deprivation in order to commit heinous crimes that go ahead our very nature, all while reveling in the glorious death metal shredding that Ragnar grew up going to see with his uncle.

HELFRÓ are still as cold and unforgiving as the winters in their home country. But ‘Tálgröf’ is prime to light a fire beneath Icelandic metal.

Jarhead Fertilizer Share "Mark of the Beast" + "Street Successor" From "Carceral Warfare" Out 12/8 Via Closed Casket Activities

The album's subject matter and theme are deeply personal — they depict an eternal struggle set in the walls of a celestial prison based on the experiences of Bland's late father.

"Growing up, I watched a lot of crazy shit," he states. "My dad was an ex-convict, and that's where the prison idea came from. I was surrounded by that lifestyle. Many of the lyrics compare earth to a prison, and they explore all the atrocities of man. My relationship with my father definitely influenced the band, and this album is almost like me getting to tell his story since he passed away two years ago."

After a series of fan favorite EPs, 2021's Product of My Environment affirmed Jarhead Fertilizer as an undeniable underground favorite.

Throughout 2023, the band recorded Carceral Warfare at Developing Nations with producer Kevin Bernstein behind the board. This time around, the musicians nodded to influences as diverse as extreme metal a la Mortal Decay, Lucifer's Hammer, and Demilich to jazz drummers such as Billy Cobham and Tony Williams, Memphis hip-hop legends Three Six Mafia, as well as acts such as Techno Animal and The Prodigy.

"It's also the first time we experimented with putting samples in the middle of songs," adds Bland. "They don't hear that much in death metal. The samples aren't just for noise or texture. They're actually a part of the songwriting."

The album artwork is also an important aspect of the story. "It's graffiti-style with oil painting, so it's grimy and angelic," says Bland. "The prisoners are winning this riot, but there are these beautiful angels unaffected by the chaos in the fray. One lady is blowing a horn, signifying one of the seven horns before the end times. It's a final warning. There are eight horns at the end of the album. You can wonder, ‘'s it over, or is there life still left?'"

This sort of visceral vision makes Carceral Warfare unforgettable.

"We want to leave you speechless," Bland finishes. "We don't want you to get up and change the song. We want you to sit and think about what you heard."

Speaking on the release of his new track, Gvllow shares

"I wrote this song 4 years ago and titled it after a song my late best friend Zak had written in an old band we were in together. I always loved the title and after his passing, I thought it would be cool to name that title after this song I recorded late one night. The lyrics came from a place where I was feeling more alone than ever. I was sitting in my studio by myself and was feeling very low and alone, and saw a spider crawling across my wall spinning a web and i didn’t do a thing about it except watch the spider continue on, because it made me feel like at least I’m not completely alone..there’s a spider friend in the room with me and suddenly it sparked inspiration for the lyrics.

I always wanted to have this song remixed and remastered to give it the sound it sonically deserved and I’m proud to say I’ve finally made that dream come true" 

GVLLOW released his acclaimed 'Spiritwalker' EP in the Spring of 2021, the release saw his stylistic expansion into post-punk and dark wave. Heavily influenced by by the likes of Drab Majesty, Sisters Of Mercy and Bauhaus, the transition began with highly acclaimed single "Last Dance" from his previous, eponymous full-length and continued with the 'Spiritwalker' EP and his 2022 releases - "Die By Your Hand", "Falling Down", "Not Sorry" and the 'Suffer' EP.

NYC-based goth pop-alternative duo Frenchy and the Punk present the single ‘Gear Geist’. Essentially translated as Gear Ghost, this song conjures the 'ghost in the machine' idea, which reflects the overall 'mind phantoms' theme of their latest album Zen Ghost'.  The new video for this song was shot in Whitby and Thetford Forest during the duo's UK ‘Zen Ghost’ tour earlier this year.

This follows their October cover version of Siouxsie and the Banshees’ classic 'Cities In Dust', timed for the 38th anniversary of the original release, with B-side 'Monsters'.

Frenchy and the Punk is vocalist, percussionist and lyricist Samantha Stephensonand guitarist-composer Scott Helland, co-founder of Deep Wound (with Dinosaur Jr.'s J Mascis and Lou Barlow) and Outpatients. Tapped as one of the Top 25 duos in the US by Yahoo! Music, the duo profess a vivid blend of post-punk, cabaret and dark folk music.

‘Gear Geist’ is a largely instrumental track peppered with expansive atmospheric and ethereal vocals, adding texture and emotion. The melding of Helland's guitar and organically produced sounds from the guitar, as well as keyboard and electronic embellishments and percussion, perfectly mesh to create an otherworldly soundscape.

"Whenever I sing those parts in the song it feels like a lament, an acknowledgement of the sadness in the world enveloped with a veil of the bittersweet nature of love, beauty, connection and loneliness in life," says Samantha Stephenson.

“It was cloudy and raining in both locations, which was perfect for the mood of the track. The atmospheric and haunting vibe of ‘Gear Geist’ demanded a kind of setting that could reflect that mood."

For this video, Stephenson was able to tap into her many years of dance training and performance to bring a strong dance element to the visuals. Aerialist Nicole Pisaniello from Host of Sparrows Aerial Circus (in Richmond VA) adds a gravity-defying element to that dance theme, sewing up the thread of a gothic embrace to the song.

Helland and Stephenson met in NYC in 1998. The spark was immediate, powerful and undeniable. They started collaborating on creative projects together, but it wouldn't be until 2005 that they would start to collaborate musically after Stephenson spontaneously jumped on stage to accompany Helland during his solo guitar performance. The two began to tour with fevered zeal and striking aesthetic, building fervent fans on the mystical-folk/steampunk festival, coffeehouse, convention and club circuits with their boisterous performances.

With numerous recordings under their belt over the years, they've performed with Dead Can Dance's Peter Ulrich and Dresden Dolls' Brian Viglione, and opened for Thomas Dolby, Dinosaur Jr., The World Inferno Friendship Society, Rasputina, Cruxshadows, Hurray For The Riff Raff and The Young Dubliners. 

After a full year of touring throughout the USA and Europe, Frenchy and the Punk is now back in New York, writing material for a new album planned for 2024. In the meantime, both the ‘Zen Ghost’ album and the 'Cities In Dust' single are available from fine digital outlets, including Apple Music, Spotify and Bandcamp. ‘Gear Geist’ itself will be offered on a 'name your price' basis via Bandcamp until December 15th.

Ace Frehley Announces New Studio Album, 10,000 Volts

(November 28, 2023) Grammy-nominated R&RHOF inductee and guitar legend ACE FREHLEY announces the release of his new studio album, 10,000 Volts, due out on February 23, 2024. Produced by Ace and Steve Brown (Trixter), the 11-track 10,000 Volts sees Ace perform electrifying, hard-hitting, riff-heavy rock'n' roll.  

Today, he releases the first single and title track. Written and produced by Ace and Steve Brown, the track kicks off with a surging riff, and Ace's swaggering delivery takes hold and never lets go. It culminates on the chantable chorus, “She hit me like 10,000 volts, when I saw her face,” giving way to a fret-burning guitar solo.

The accompanying visual for the single was directed by Alex Kouvatsos from Black Wolf Imaging and shows Ace and his band performing the powerful, riff-heavy track live.

Among hundreds of accolades, The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame® inducted him in 2014 as a Co-founder and the original lead guitarist of Kiss. Guitar World named him in the Top 15 of its “100 Greatest Heavy Metal Guitarists of All Time” and plugged the lead from “Shock Me” on the “50 Greatest Guitar Solos of All Time.” Magnifying the imprint of his catalog as a solo artist, Foo Fighters cut a fan favorite cover of “Ozone,” and he even jammed out “New York Groove” alongside The Roots on NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. The late Dimebag Darrell of Pantera proudly sported a tattoo of Frehley on his chest, while Tom Morello of Rage Against The Machine celebrated him on X/Twitter as “My first guitar hero.”

10,000 Volts upholds an incredible legacy for Frehley, spanning 50-plus years in the limelight. Back in 1978, he delivered his solo debut, Ace Frehley. It reached platinum status and exploded as “the highest-selling of the four Kiss solo albums in the Soundscan era.” Pitchfork even retrospectively rated it a rare “8.5” score. In 1987, he dropped Frehley’s Comet. Following Anomaly in 2009, he went on to make history once again. His 2014 Space Invader LP captured #9 on the Billboard 200 and emerged as “The only solo album by a past or current Kiss member to reach the Top 10 on the chart.” 2016’s Origins Vol. 1, bowed at #1 on the Billboard Top Hard Rock Albums Chart and in the Top 5 of the Billboard Top Rock Albums Chart. He notably maintained his momentum with Spaceman [2018].

TEMIC Release Video for "Through the Sands of Time"

TEMIC are already living up to their billing as prog's new supergroup. Their debut album, Terror Management Theory, just topped the charts in the Netherlands and reached #15 on iTunes Worldwide Metal chart.

Today, TEMIC are releasing a stylish and scenic new video for "Through the Sands of Time", the sweeping 7-minute opener from Terror Management Theory. The song showcases the full range of the band's superpowers: melodic cleans, djenty riffs, keys that swirl and sizzle amid grooving technical breakdowns, not one but two arpeggiated guitar solos. They're only one album in, but TEMIC are proving they really are the full package.

Introducing TEMIC—prog’s newest, most ambitious, and most adrenaline-fueled act. TEMIC melds the creative minds of keyboardist and sound designer Diego Tejeida (Devin Townsend, Mike Portnoy’s Shattered Fortress, ex-Haken), guitarist Eric Gillette (The Neal Morse Band, Mike Portnoy’s Shattered Fortress), drummer Simen Sandnes (SHINING, Arkentype), and vocalist Fredrik Klemp (Maraton, 22).

The origins of TEMIC date back to 2017, when Tejeida and Gillette toured the world as band members of Mike Portnoy’s Shattered Fortress. From the very first chords they exchanged, their musical chemistry both on and off stage was undeniable, leading them to discuss the prospect of starting a new band together. Unfortunately, conflicting tour and recording commitments forced them to turn their attention elsewhere for years—that is, until the world came to a standstill in 2020, and Tejeida called Gillette to ask a fateful question:
“Remember how we said we should make music together? Well, how about now?”

Thus, the first demos for what would later become TEMIC’s 2023 debut album, Terror Management Theory, began to emerge. Within a few weeks after that initial phone call, the musical vision of TEMIC had become clear: Let’s create progressive music that is heavily influenced by high-energy electronic music, but arranged and orchestrated for a 5-piece modern prog rock/metal band—where, at last, the pulse can be the focus, and the vocal melody can be king.

Eager to join forces with the very best bandmates, Tejeida and Gillette first summoned the rhythmic power of their friend and drummer Sandnes. With characteristic enthusiasm, Sandnes seized the opportunity, prepared to contribute his percussive prowess as the heartbeat of TEMIC. When it came time to find the singer that would carry TEMIC’s melodies to new heights, Sandnes recommended vocal powerhouse Klemp, whose emotive delivery and unmatched intensity left no doubt that he was destined to be the voice of TEMIC. Finally, to round out the rhythm section of Terror Management Theory, dynamic bassist Jacob Umansky (Intervals) was invited on board as a guest player, gracing the album with an unrivaled groove and a signature low-end sound.

Together, this mammoth lineup is TEMIC, a high-energy, electronic-inspired, modern melodic prog metal band for the next generation.

"Our drummer, Simen Sandnes, produced this music video in Iceland, exploring a visually aesthetic interpretation of "Through the Sands of Time", says TEMIC.

"The chorus encourages the listener to let go of their past, to ‘burn it all’ in order to ‘fly high’ and ‘breathe life’. This contrasts with the melancholic nature of the verses, which reflect on the past and question the present: ‘What is true?’ Sometimes, we spend so much time regretting and reassessing that we forget the hourglass of our lives is constantly running.

Diego Tejeida and Eric Gilette first got the idea to start a band together when they were touring members of Mike Portnoy's Shattered Fortress. Here are just some of the nice things that their fellow road dog had to say about Terror Management Theory.

PARMALEE RELEASES POWERFUL VIDEO FOR “GONNA LOVE YOU”

Multi-platinum group Parmalee follows the release of their new single “Gonna Love You” with the powerful and autobiographical music video that recreates the night they were victims of an attempted robbery which left their drummer with a 5% chance of living.

Following a show in SC, brothers Matt and Scott Thomas were in their RV when two robbers entered the vehicle demanding cash. Soon after, a gunfight broke out, and though Scott fended off both intruders, he was shot three times. He was airlifted to a hospital where he spent 40 days, 10 in a coma, recovering from his injuries.

“We felt like this was the right song and the right time to tell this story,” said Scott. “It was emotional and surreal for all of us to relive that experience, but we knew it was time.” 

Miraculously, just 4 months after the incident, the band took the stage for the first time since the shooting occurred. That night, they secured a record deal they had been working on for years. “We couldn’t believe how many people came together to help us. We would’ve never made it through had it not been for our fans, families, friends, and all the bands and musicians who came together to help us out! We didn’t even ask, they just did it!”

“Gonna Love You,” follows their most recent #1 single, “Girl In Mine.” With four 4 # 1 radio singles and three consecutive in as many years, Stoney Creek Records' Parmalee has now scored more #1’s than any other band or group in country music during that time. 

“Girl In Mine,” was the follow-up to their #1 record-setting, “Take My Name,” which was Billboard’s Most Played Country Song of 2022, and the #1 Platinum hit, “Just The Way” with Blanco Brown. The band first topped the charts with a song inspired by their home state, “Carolina.”

A cacophony of turbulent bounce and bludgeoning beats, the brand new single "Bring Back The Noise" from Aussie metalcore behemoths Alpha Wolf profusely lives up to its name.

Greek ambassadors supreme SUICIDAL ANGELS are one of the most jaw-dropping representatives of the injection of new blood. SUICIDAL ANGELS went through a step by step development since their humble start in 2001. Not earlier than in 2007, they entered the studio to record their striking debut album Eternal Domination which caused a stir in the Hellenic scene. They were invited by Sakis Tolis of ROTTING CHRIST to do their first EU tour. This was only the beginning of a long era of growing popularity. Another milestone was supporting KREATOR, resulting in a long time friendship with Mille Petrozza. In 2010 SUICIDAL ANGELS even opened up for the Big thrash 4 in Athens at Sonisphere and at the beginning of 2014 they finally did their first independent headline tour through Europe. Every two years new albums were coming out to support on the road. In the meantime they conquered Asia, South America and Europe and there is more to come.

Swedish alternative metalcore outfit Imminence have established their own highly unique sound and have pushed their style. 

With the distinct use of classical string arrangements blended with the influence of ferocious Scandinavian metal, the sound and visual universe of the quintet stands out as an  innovative and exciting act. Fronted by vocalist and violinist Eddie Berg, guitarists Harald Barrett and Alex Arnoldsson, drummer Peter Hanström, and bassist Christian Höijer, Imminence have opened a new release cycle with three singles out since June 2023. The new tracks "Come Hell or High Water," "Desolation," and "Heaven Shall Burn" have quickly achieved millions of streams and achieved a rapid growth in social media following, furthermore given the band great attention during this year's festival season, where Imminence performed at Wacken, Summerbreeze, Tuska Open Air, Reload, shared stage with genre pioneers Architects, and much more.

Imminence recently announced their very first tour in North America.

As always, the group never ceases to do the unexpected, and decided to embark on the tour as a headliner. Within 48 hours, the entire tour was sold out and some venues are now upgraded for the second time. To really honor the live premiere in North America, Imminence are taking the opportunity to release the brand new single "Death By A Thousand Cuts."

The cycle of the previous album Heaven In Hiding closed with an exclusive Deluxe Edition release, including the single track "Jaded" (2023), shortly thereafter Imminence continued to gain viral attention on all social media platforms, partially due to the remarkable "Live In Studio" recordings, and experienced an impressive growth of +100 000 followers and millions of streams over the course of just a few months this year.

One of the most exciting years for the German modern metal institution is coming to an end - though EQUILIBRIUM are far from taking it slow: Ahead of their upcoming tour with DIE APOKALYPTISCHEN REITER at the end of December, the band releases their new single 'Cerulean Skies' that is available on all streaming platforms now.
