Oxford-based indie pop outfit JODY AND THE JERMS presents dazzling 'Divine' single

“Evanescent jangle of endearing pop hymns... a celestial glow that lingers at the nexus of The Sundays, Belle and Sebastian, Throwing Muses, and the effervescent efflorescence of The Darling Buds” ~ Post-Punk.com

"It’s almost like power pop, a bit Bangles... or jangle pop. Lovely" ~ Radcliffe & Maconie, BBC 6 Music

"‘Pop’ can often be used as a negative, hinting at either shallow or cynically manufactured music but with Jody and the Jerms the music is awash with a wonderful humanity that feels born out of friendship and love. Divine indeed" ~ Joyzine

"Jody had to be coerced into singing, and she does it really well. It's good isn't it!" ~ Janice Long - BBC Wales

"Poised and perfect... A joyous romp through everything that made pop so great... sassy and full of buoyant energy, shot through with chime and charm, and has lashings of sing-along-ability" ~ Big Takeover Magazine

"Aglow in sugar-spun pop confections and unforgettable harmonies that conjures the jangling heyday of The Bangles and the buoyant rhythms of The Regrettes" ~ Stereo Embers Magazine

"Positivity and buoyancy.... glossy pop, jangling guitar, elegiac harmonies, memorable choruses and wistful melancholy" ~ The Spill Magazine

Jody and the Jerms present their new single 'Divine', a short explosive slice of heavy pop wrapped into a song about hope and belief in an increasingly cruel world. Fuzzed-up and psychedelic guitars are balanced perfectly alongside a touch of electronica with beats and synth to the fore, paving the way for Jody's soaring vocals, supported by new Jerm Salma Craig and drummer Steve Clark on harmonies.

Recorded in August at Safehouse Studios in their hometown of Oxford, this catchy earworm is the final release of 2023. A prolific year for the band, they've played 50 shows across the UK, released their latest
'Wonder' album (April 2023), and enjoyed significant press and radio attention across the globe, including airplay on BBC 6 Music, Absolute Radio, Sirius XM and much coveted praise from Rolling Stone.

"What with all this talk of AI in music, we bucked the trend with a happy accident when we woke up one morning after playing a festival. All our guitars were locked in the van, so Pete (guitar) said we don't need instruments to write, and started humming the main riff. Steve (drums) happened to record it on his phone, then we drank coffee, got back in the van, drank something stronger and forgot about it for six weeks. Then I asked for the recording and Jody and I turned it into Divine one productive afternoon," says Niall Jeger.

"It's got a different grove than most of our other tunes, with more electronica and heavy guitars, but it is very much us. Salma and Steve stepped up with some strong backing vocals and harmonies to really give 'Divine' power."

As the lyrics go: "Hearts can break is what they say, abandoned dreams don't fade away. I believe you're heaven sent, my divine experiment".

Jody Jeger adds, "There is so much heartbreak in the World right now that I wanted to write something affirming about love and believing in finding it against the odds."

'Divine' arrives hot on the trail of
'Seen It All Before', an upbeat bitter-sweet tale of mistakes and consequences, inspired by lifelong friendships. Produced, mixed and mastered by RIDE's Mark Gardener at OX4 Sound studio in Oxford, this collaboration began with their third album 'Wonder' and then subsequent single 'Liberation'.

Championed by the late Janice Long at BBC, among others, Jody and the Jerms is a seven-piece revolving around Jody Jeger (vocals) and Niall Jeger (guitars and vocals). Jody had never sung or been in a band before the Jerms formed in 2019, although Niall had been in 00s Oxford trio
The Anydays, who graced the pages of NME, played with Radiohead and Supergrass, and were featured by Mark Radcliffe at BBC Radio 2.

Jody and the Jerms create endearing jangle-pop songs that are both evocative and relatable. Formed in Oxford in 2019, they have been writing, recording and performing their blend of melodic and uplifting indie/ alt rock ever since, having enjoyed national airtime on Radio X (UK), Sirius XM (USA) and RTVE (Spain), as well as BBC 6 Music, BBC Introducing, BBC Wales and BBC Ulster.

As of November 1, 'Divine' will be released across digital platforms, including
SpotifyApple Music and Bandcamp. Jody and the Jerms are currently touring the UK - get tickets at https://jodyandthejerms.com/live

Dalton Dover Plots Headlining 'Never Giving Up On That Tour' for 2024

After honing his live show with festival dates and supporting acts such as Luke Combs, Tyler Hubbard, Sam Hunt, Parker McCollum, Justin Moore and Chase Rice, Dalton Dover is gearing up to embark on his first headlining club tour with his Never Giving Up On That Tour, kicking off Feb. 9 in Birmingham, Ala., and featuring dates across the southeast into the spring. Tickets are on sale now at DaltonDoverOfficial.com.

“We’ve had so much fun on the road this year, whether we played festivals like CMA Fest, local fairs or supporting some of my favorite artists and introducing ourselves to new fans,” shares Dover. “It’s been amazing to learn from some of the best in the industry on how to deliver a high-impact show, and we can’t wait to bring our best to these shows in 2024!”

Dover recently premiered the official music video for “Giving Up On That” on CMT, CMT Music,
CMT.com and Paramount’s Times Square Billboard. Directed by Tristan Cusick, the video was filmed near Dover’s hometown in Rome, Georgia. Watch it HERE.

“Every scene in the video is just somewhere that means something to me, places where I grew up,” Dover shared with
CMT.com. “The people in the video are some of the most important people in my life. Growing up, you're playing all these small venues around here. Little did you know 12 years later, you’d sign a record deal and film your first music video at the same exact place, the same bar that you played one of your first hometown shows in.”

Named a Pandora 2023 Artist to Watch, an Amazon Music 2023 Breakthrough Artist to Watch: Country Class and a member of CMT’s LISTEN UP 2023 Class, Dover released Never Giving Up On That via UMG Nashville/Mercury Records. An eight-song collection, the project features two new songs including “Dirt Roads and Jesus” and an alluring cover of “If I Ain’t Got You,” among fan-favorites such as “Baby I Am,” “You Got A Small Town” and “Night To Go.” Listen to Never Giving Up On That

In addition to being a part of UMG Nashville/Mercury Records, Dover is signed with United Talent Agency for worldwide booking representation in all areas, along with Sony Music Publishing Nashville in partnership with Droptine Music Publishing. For more information, visit

About Dalton Dover
Lauded by MusicRow as a “master country talent,” Dalton Dover’s current chart-climbing single “Giving Up On That” via UMG Nashville/Mercury Records was the most-added track at Country Radio upon its debut with 60 first week adds and can be found on his latest EP Never Giving Up On That, featuring eight tracks including “Night To Go,” “Baby I Am,” “Hear About A Girl,” and more. Named a Pandora 2023 Artist to Watch, an Amazon Music 2023 Breakthrough Artist to Watch: Country Class and a member of CMT’s LISTEN UP 2023 Class, he will embark on his headlining Never Giving Up On That Tour in early 2024. Dover made his Grand Ole Opry debut in December 2022, followed by his international debut in 2023 at C2C: Country to Country Festival’s CMA Songwriters Series before joining Chase Rice on the Way Down Yonder Tour. This summer, Dover performed across four stages at CMA Fest, including the Nissan Stadium Platform stage and played Luke Combs’ Whiskey Jam Bootleggers Tailgate Party at Gillette Stadium in July. By the age of 16, Dover had picked up a guitar and started teaching himself to play, yet it was his grandfather who turned him on to country music and artists such as Keith Whitley, Rhett Akins, Joe Diffie and Steve Wariner. Performances at local bars soon followed along with sharing covers of some of his favorite songs on TikTok. It was there he caught the ear of producer Matt McV and A&R veteran and founder of Droptine, Jim Catino, who quickly signed Dover. His debut track “You Got a Small Town,” produced by McV, quickly garnered critical acclaim from Billboard, MusicRow, Country Now and Wide Open Country. With his debut and his follow-up “Baby I Am” earning notable playlisting, Dover was named a Spotify Hot Country 2022 Artist to Watch along with a spotlight as Billboard’s February Country Rookie of the Month and a nod for MusicRow’s 2022 Discovery Artist of the Year. CLOAK Unveils Cover for Samhain's "Black Dream"

Blackened heavy metal masters Cloak is now celebrating this Halloween with a dark cover of Samhain's "Black Dream," which can be streamed on all platforms HERE.

The band comments, “We recorded a cover of Samhain’s 'Black Dream' during the last album sessions, and today it’s finally released. Samhain has always been the darkest, obscure child of the Danzig bands, lyrically especially. It’s when he ditched the movie tropes and got serious about the occult and esotericism, which makes for a perfect listen during the season of the shift.”

The single follows up the band's 2023 opus, Black Flame Eternal. The album follows up 2019's 'The Burning Dawn,' which was named one of the Best Albums of the year by Metal Insider (#6), A&P Reacts (#8), Treble Zine (#11), and others.

'Black Flame Eternal' was released on May 26, 2023 and can be streamed, downloaded, and ordered HERE.

“The individual has always had to struggle to keep from being overwhelmed by the tribe. If you try it, you will be lonely often, and sometimes frightened. But no price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself.” - Rudyard Kipling

In an era that is designed to beat down and weaken the individual, Black Flame Eternal is an album that represents strength, empowerment, and total opposition. With mounting pressure to engage in modern societal tribalism, Cloak invokes a spiritual rebellion that exists beyond good and evil with album number three.

“All of our albums are created with a spiritual focus, dealing with how we see life, death, and everything in between. I think the earlier records dealt more with the mysteries that surrounded delving deeper into the world of dark spirituality, whereas the new material has taken what we’ve learned and used it to move forward with force,” says Cloak frontman Scott Taysom of the record’s underlying philosophy. “Black Flame Eternal is a statement of spiritual empowerment in every sense. For the first time we want people to grasp on to this sentiment, instead of keeping it completely personal within our world of Cloak. The themes and the sheer power can be felt much more within the songs that this album contains."

“Our goal is complete spiritual liberation, which is where true power and freedom exists,” he adds. “We’ve reached a point in history where people are forced to pick a side or to join a team, so to speak. Cloak stands in complete opposition to this. We aim to be a giant middle finger in the face of the empty modern world.”

While Cloak might rage against societal conventions, the Atlanta quartet embraces the rebellious and time-tested traditions of heavy metal. Whether it be the conjuring the chaotic spirit of Swedish black metal purveyors Watain and Dissection, summoning the deep, dark and sensual groove of Danzig, or evoking the raw speed and raucous energy of Motörhead, the influence of metal’s founding fathers is deep within Cloak’s DNA. Cloak’s charm, however, does not merely lie within its romanticism of the past, but rather is the way each of these genres has shaped Cloak’s own personal identity. And with Black Flame Eternal, the record sees Cloak continue to strengthen its own unique established sound.

Cloak recognizes the importance of a band’s third record, with Taysom explaining, “These influences will always be important to us, as they are some of the best and most important bands of our time. On the other hand, what is so special about getting to the third record of our career is that inspiration starts to move inwards. We had enough experience and material at this point to really know what we do best and how we can utilize these skills in the best way possible. If you look at some of the most iconic bands, their third albums were massive steps towards greatness. So to us, we feel our third record will be a very important one in our time as a band.”

The Atlantan’s evolution is evident in the fury displayed on Black Flame Eternal, which flawlessly compliments the grandiose melodic atmosphere. “This was a conscious effort. Early on before the album even started, I knew it was going to be a much more aggressive and powerful album. I wanted to take a step away from certain sounds and add a bit of brutality back in. The overall vibe matches who we are much more, so it was only fitting to move towards this sound. It almost feels like we are going back to our roots as people in certain ways,” explains Taysom.

Black Flame Eternal follows up sophomore effort The Burning Dawn, which was released in November 2019, with hell unleashing its fury on the globe just a few short months later. As plans to tour the new album around the world came to a screeching halt, the band did not stagger or falter, and instead used this gift of time to write. When reflecting upon the lost years and its impact, Taysom seemingly embraces the situation with little regrets, “Considering Cloak is a sacred space for us, these exterior things did not have as much of an impact as one might think. But it was impossible to ignore some of what was going on throughout these tumultuous years. It’s bound to affect people’s personal lives and the way the mind works during these interesting times. One thing that it did greatly affect was the fact that we could not promote The Burning Dawn properly after the one U.S. tour we did with 1349. We feel this hurt the record, but there was nothing we could do. We were one of the earliest out of the gate after venues started to open back up, and we’ve been continuing to tour in promotion of that album all the way up until now.”

Cloak utilized every minute of this time to focus on fully realizing its vision for Black Flame Eternal. “The initial stage of the writing process started in January of 2020, and lasted all the way until May 2021. It was the longest spanning album process for us so far, with many long days, nights, and weeks trying to piece the songs together the best we could.” While the record did not come together swiftly or easily, the care and attention put into its creation is evident in its powerful composition.

Making up for lost time, these road warriors have already embarked on several high profile North American tours since the autumn of 2021, commanding audiences in every major city with their chaos magick. Each performance merges the spirit of black metal with the backbone of rock ‘n’ roll as the band consistently delivers a blistering set from start to finish. Taysom describes Cloak’s live approach as “a mixture of ethereal atmosphere and total abrasive chaos. The mixture of these two opposing energies is where Cloak lies; the meeting of high and low. To us, this is where the most interesting moments happen, both emotionally and physically.”

With no borders or boundaries, Cloak is ready to embark on this new chapter as the leader of its own pack. The band bows to no one, forging its own path as one of the governing metal forces of this decade as Black Flame Eternal promises to scorch the earth and leave its hallowed mark.

Wrath of Logarius Announce EP

Wrath of Logarius come crawling out from the misty forests of Northern California. In their wake, fans a dark, flaming and eerily melodic new subgenre: Formless Black Metal.

This skeletal trio are now releasing their very first EP on Season of Mist. The six songs on 'Necrotic Assimilation' writhe between black, brutal death and even melodic post-metal - often over the course of one hard and fast song.

Watch the fire-breathing visualizer for lead single "The Burning One", which was created by Andrés Montero Conde:
https://youtu.be/foPF8DOtvwI

'Necrotic Assimilation" will be available as a digital download starting  December 8.

“'Necrotic Assimilation' is the product of blending our favorites aspects of different types of black metal into one band," says Wrath of Logarius. "We are pleased with the outcome and will continue to build on that idea.”

So what exactly is formless black metal? A mountainous slop of human flesh...an amalgamation of ever-changing eyes, fangs and bone. That description is one of the first things you hear on "The Burning One", and while awfully unsettling, it hits the nail right through the demon's skull. The song screams across the sky thanks to Noctifer's malignant vocals, only to plunge into a fiery pit of tremolo picking before snapping back into blast beats that blister under the legendary heel of Lord Marco.

"'The Burning One' tells a story about an inner dimensional invasion of earth", says Wrath of Logarius. "These unsightly creatures are set to take over the world, infecting everything living with Necrotic Assimilation, a virus that takes over the mind. Hosts are turned into an empty vessel, forced to do the bidding of The Burning One".

Formed in 2021 amidst the mist-shrouded forests of Northern California, Wrath of Logarius emerged as a formidable force in the world of extreme music. This black metal trio, consisting of Noctifer, Urath, and Vastator, set out to forge a new path with their unique genre known as Formless Black Metal.

Wrath of Logarius' creative spark ignited as they embarked on their journey to create something different in black metal. Drawing inspiration from brutal blackened death and melodic post-black metal, the skeletal trio emerged with a new subgenre. 'Necrotic Assimilation' introduces pure Formless Black Metal, where the styles change within each song.

Tarja To Release "Dark Christmas" Album + Shares "Frosty The Snowman" — WATCH

This year, Tarja is bringing the festive season early with the release of Dark Christmas, the sequel of her 2017 album From Spirits and Ghosts (Score for a Dark Christmas). Utilizing the sound of a grand orchestra and the playfulness of a children's choir, the Finnish solo artist once again perfectly blends her classically-trained voice with darker gothic influences for a masterful cinematic eerie soundtrack to the world's most beloved Christmas tunes.

With enchanting and captivating renditions of well-known Christmas carols, such as Wham!'s "Last Christmas," Mariah Carey's "All I Want For Christmas Is You," Paul McCartney's "Wonderful Christmastime," classics such as "Jingle Bells," "Frosty The Snowman" and "Rudolph The Red- Nosed Reindeer," as well as Tarja's brand new original song "Dark Christmas," it's the perfect album for those who want to embrace the holiday spirit while exploring a more mysterious side of the season.

"It was fascinating to dive into this new world," says the singer. "You will appreciate these Christmas songs with our spooky arrangements truly sound in a way they never did before. It was my pleasure to team up once again with Jim Dooley and Tim Palmer. I hope you will dig in our take of a Dark Christmas spirit."

Baltimore, MD based, Heavy Rock Band AMERICAN JETSET is creeping out of the shadows this Halloween to raze the earth with their savagely sleazy single, "Hell's Out to Get Ya"!

This haunting Halloween anthem arose from the ashes of an 80s nightmare and is delivered with ghastly aggression and extreme vengeance. The thunderous backbeats, gnarled chords, and blood soaked hooks reveal a dangerously maleficent manifesto – a spectrally distorted testament to monsters everywhere.

The B-side, "Firestarter," ignites into full afterburner. The macabre iconography is surrounded by a a showcase of furious guitars, bludgeoning bass, and razor sharp vocals, all synthesized into a horrifying hell-raiser that you'll have on repeat.

CHINESE-AMERICAN RISING STAR, IRENE WONG RELEASES “FAVORITE SKELETON”

Chinese-American influencer, model, and singer-songwriter Irene Wong, has released her single “Favorite Skeleton” today. The single was produced by Nathan Fertig (Tate McRae, Alec Benjamin Grace VanderWaal), written by Nathan Fertig and Anna Belfany, recorded and mixed by Marvin Delgado(Grammy nominated), and mastered by Demetrius Lewis II (Grammy winning). “Favorite Skeleton” is bittersweet, self-deprecating, and melancholy; looking inwards and backwards rather than outward and forward. It's a track that places the listener into

a scene of reminiscing about a past relationship, and how the thought of those memories always haunts her and won't go away. It's moodier and shows off a different side to Irene than her debut single “mmm idk”; which received praise from places such as Earmilk, Sweety High, and more.

Born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama, Irene has quickly risen to fame on various social media platforms, captivating her 2.7 million TikTok followers with her nonchalant and witty approach to short-form content. She has been affectionately nicknamed "Asian Rapunzel" due to her striking knee-length hair, a unique trait she humorously portrays in her content. As a classically trained musician, music has always been Irene's true passion, and now she is working hard to pursue her dream professionally. At the tender age of 19, Irene has found an unwavering ally in her label, Unbound Entertainment. The label is committed to nurturing Irene's talent from its early stages of development, ensuring her dreams become a reality. While Irene enjoys a significant presence on social media, she has courageously battled her own emotions and fears on her journey towards musical stardom. Unbound Entertainment is playing a pivotal role in Irene's growth, offering an experience that has seen each trip to Los Angeles become progressively more enriching. These trips now encompass more studio sessions, reduced stress, fewer emotional breakdowns, an increasing number of press interviews, and, most importantly, a growing sense of confidence as an artist.

Irene's label has adopted the “Asian Entertainment” approach in the United States, dedicated to working closely with Irene at a young age, essentially "training" her in the studio and actively developing her music catalog. This investment underscores their commitment to unleashing Irene's full potential as a music artist. Irene's journey from a TikTok sensation to a promising music artist is one that continues to captivate her dedicated followers and has piqued the interest of many in the industry. Her commitment to her craft and the unwavering support of Unbound Entertainment promise to propel her to greater heights in the music industry.

MORE INFO:
Irene Wong’s journey towards her musical dreams has been one of determination and hard work. Paleface Swiss Drop Anthemic Stand-Alone Single, "The Gallow"

Fresh off their mostly-sold-out inaugural US headline tour, rapidly rising Swiss metal brigade Paleface Swiss have released another standalone single, “The Gallow.” today. Listen to the new track HERE and watch the official music video below.

On the inspiration for "The Gallow," frontman Zelli elaborates:

"The Gallow" is a song that delves into the constant torment one experiences within their mind and body. It's a pain that defies relief, persisting with each breath you take. Over time, this anguish fuels a mounting aggression, as one struggles to make sense of their suffering. You come to realize that this aggression won't provide solace, and you may reach a point where you believe that the only escape from the unending torment is to hang yourself. The song reflects a retrospective look at those who have endured such suffering, and it pays tribute to musical icons like Chester Bennington, Chris Cornell, and countless others."

Since dropping their fourth full-length album ‘Fear & Dagger’ last year, Paleface Swiss have earned international reverence for their technical, groove-laden, beatdown filled metal. Setting themselves apart with a combination of multiple genre elements and the distinctive, lightning-fast, rap-inspired vocals of commanding frontman Marc "Zelli" Zelwegger.

Standalone singles released this year - “Please End Me” and “Best Before Death” sustained their buzz, while a nearly sold-out US tour cemented the Swiss Boys' explosive live reputation. They'll return stateside for the massive Sick New World Festival in Las Vegas in April 2024.

With an ever-growing army of devoted fans, critical acclaim, sold-out headline shows and incendiary festival performances, Paleface Swiss now have their sights set on worldwide domination. “The Gallow” is another undeniable step on their mission, which shows absolutely no signs of slowing down. 2023 has been an epic year for Paleface Swiss and 2024 looks set to be even better. ABOUT PALEFACE SWISS

Since the release of their third album, 'Chapter 3: The Last Selection', independent outfit, PALEFACE SWISS have gained international recognition throughout the Deathcore and Beatdown Community. Known for their huge, aggressive riffs, brutally bombastic rhythm section, frontman, Zelli's outstanding vocals and a pinch of humor. This is Switzerland’s finest heavy music. Across their catalog, the band have gained 45 million streams and 7 million YouTube views.

PALEFACE SWISS was formed in Zurich, Switzerland in 2017 by vocalist Marc Zellweger (Zelli) and drummer Colin Hammond (CJ) having met through a mutual friend in 2016. After bonding over a shared love of beatdowns and hardcore, Zelli and CJ shook hands at a concert in 2017 and promised they would create the craziest beatdown band ever together. They released their debut ‘Chapter 1: From The Gallows’ in 2018 and played their first show in October 2018 and quickly grew in popularity with the song “Deprivation Method”.

In early 2019, Paleface started writing ‘Chapter 2: Witch King’ and started working on the final installment of the dark story they’d created with Chapters 1 & 2. ‘Chapter 3: The Last Selection’ was released on October 30th 2020, spawning four music huge tracks “Curse Us”, “The Rats”, "Lights Out" and “Skalpell” which quickly ranked high in the beatdown/hardcore charts and saw the band become cover stars on Spotify’s Heavy Beatdown playlist.

In 2022 the band released their most ambitious and brutal album yet, 'Fear & Dagger'. The album was widely considered a huge step up for the band as plaudits began to roll in for frontman Zelli's vocal ability, Metal Injection accurately summed it up in their review by saying, "It's fun to get caught up in Paleface's unrelenting instrumentals, but Zelli's really the star of Paleface. This is largely because he treats his screams like rap bars." The album shot the band into the upper echelons of the "deathcore renaissance" and spawned singles "The Orphan", "Deathtouch", "Dead Man's Diary" feat. LANDMVRKS frontman Florent Salfati and most recently, fan favourite and stylistic curveball, "My Grave / Lay with Me". The album focuses on more mature and critical topics related to the fears and struggles young people have to contend with in the 21st century, most importantly, the topic of mental health.

The album's technical proficiency and no-holds barred brutality, coupled with Zelli's unique delivery and highly emotional lyrics struck a chord with fans worldwide, racking up 21 million cross-platform streams, nearly 1 million YouTube views and saw the band's monthly Spotify users increase by over 400%, currently at 472k. It was released to much acclaim with New Transcendence stating "Paleface have created one of the most emotionally relevant and intriguing beatdown releases to date" and Wall of Sound calling it "an unashamedly brutal and angry album".

As Metal Injection so astutely put it in their review of 'Fear & Dagger' - "Stop pretending to be cultured, and get down with the beatdown.".

Phoenix synthpunk grindcore-rap duo Snailmate presents 'Stress Sandwich' album & video for 'The Laziest Man in the World'

"Ferocious and evocative... an intense sonic fusion of thrash rock, hip hop and punk complete with an infectious layered screamo chorus and daring synths. Fuzzy basslines glide over intense drumming full of emotion for an enthralling must listen"~ Earmilk

“This homage to being chronically, unwaveringly lazy is another standout hybrid gem from the pair, and proves as eccentric as it is downright catchy” ~ Phoenix New Times

“A genre-bending rollercoaster ride that defies convention and categorization. This album seamlessly weaves together elements of synth music, punk and metal while drawing inspiration from an eclectic mix of artists ranging from Daft Punk and Public Enemy to Limp Bizkit and Linkin Park... unique and electrifying” ~ Skylight Webzine

"How this isn’t pouring from every MF-ers lips in time of need is a mystery" ~ Global Texan Chronicles

Phoenix-based synthpunk grindcore pop nerd rap duo
Snailmate has released their new album 'Stress Sandwich' via Indiestructable Records, with a twisted humorous take on existential anxiety. Serving up funky, poppy, screamy fun through synth-laced alternative raps, their music is like a quick-onset panic attack with the right meds to be able to keep calm and enjoy the ride.

Snailmate is lyricist-vocalist and synth wizard Kalen Lander and drummer-backup vocalist Bentley Monet, whose music fuses synthpunk, grindcore, pop and nerd rap for an unpredictable and explosive sound. Together they craft music that is cathartic and relatable yet unique and genre-defying, using humor and wit to tackle topics from isolation and queer identity to bangers about hot sauce and nostalgia.

Produced by Ari Leopold at
Lava Lake Studio in Phoenix, 'Stress Sandwich' is about growth, exploring themes such as vulnerability, disappointment, and art-making as a beautiful yet imperfect process. They go head to head with depression, anxiety, imposter syndrome, anger, hunger, laziness... but also fun things! These 10 tracks - laced with sarcasm, breathless lyricism and unpredictable genre-bending energy - will leave you satisfied and wanting more.

"This album has been in the works for so long. It took years to process all these feelings and experiences and distill them into just ten short songs, but I’m really glad we didn’t try and finish this thing any sooner. It would have tasted so much different. The flavors needed time to develop. I couldn’t have written 'Toll Road' until that bastard stole our money. 'The Snailmate Show' wasn’t a thing before we were forced to quarantine and couldn’t play live. And until we had to go through some intense physical changes, 'My Weird Gross Body' just wouldn’t have been the same," says  Kalen Lander.

"I beat myself up a lot during this whole process. I felt like I was taking too long to write the lyrics, and that meant that I was bad at writing. I had lost my touch. But then I really started to understand how, when I FINALLY finished the words for a song, it was perfect. It couldn’t have been perfect if I’d forced it out any sooner. And I think 'The Laziest Man in the World' encapsulates that sentiment better than anything."

The duo also presents their latest video for
'The Laziest Man in the World', created by Chase A Warren.

"This song is my attempt to glorify and glamorize my extreme lack of motivation. Even though the approach was to be as lazy as possible, the song nevertheless features dexterous lyricism and quick, intricate rhyme schemes. Sometimes, sitting around and doing nothing is important for your mental health. Hopefully this song can make someone feel a little better the next time they take a day off," says Kalen Lander.

"I’m a firm believer in slowing down and taking your time. Days off are as crucial, if not more so, than the days spent working. Sometimes you need to do absolutely nothing. You deserve it. And “The Laziest Man in the World” wants you to be the best you can be."

Known for their frenetic and impressive live shows (numbering over a thousand now), 2023 saw the band tour relentlessly. As part of the LGBTQ community and with Bentley being a transgender artist, Snailmate inspires their listeners to be unapologetic and unashamed of who they are, having cultivated a fervent fanbase based on inclusivity and shows as a safe space for all genders and people of all sexualities.

Snailmate earlier released two full length albums -
'Live In Japan' (2019) and 'Love in the Microwave' (2017) - and a myriad of EPs and singles.

'Stress Sandwich' is available digitally from fine music platforms, including
Apple Music, Spotify and Bandcamp. It can also be ordered on vinyl and CD vinyl from the band's own store, where ample merch is also available, including their very own award-winning hot sauce!

THE VELDT shares ‘Angel Heart’ single from 'Illuminated 1989' Robin Guthrie-produced album (out November 24)

"This album is not only a historical sonic document, but it’s a shimmering, charming, sensual and cinematic body of remarkable psychedelic rock that resembles nothing currently in the music sphere" ~ Spill Magazine

Trailblazing American soul-influenced shoegazers
The Veldt present their new single 'Angel Heart', previewing their 'Illuminated 1989' album, the original 1989 Robin Guthrie- produced recording of what was supposed to be their debut full-length record (before their label Capitol Records shelved these recordings).

In 1988, 'Angel Heart' was written for the original 'Marigolds' album sessions and when the band was originally sent back to the drawing table to record the
'Marigolds' album that was ultimately released, it was not included in the tracks recorded with Lincoln Fong in 1993.

Among first-wave shoegaze bands formed in the 1980s, North Carolina's The Veldt surrounds identical twins Daniel Chavis (vocals, guitar) and Danny Chavis (guitar), whose music is equally influenced by Cocteau Twins, Marvin Gaye, Sun Ra and Pharaoh Sanders. Referencing post-punk while embracing modern hip-hop, these trailblazers work with transient dreamscapes as fluidly as solid song structures.

Danny Chavis interprets 'Angel Heart' as follows: "The stellar sound you get when you see the universe expanding. When you feel hopelessness and melancholy and, of course, alone, there's always a meandering feeling of something that lifts you up and brings you down. We feel it as we get older, but were not alone. This is that sound."

This is the album's third single, following the lead track
'The Everlasting Gobstopper' and 'Aurora Borealis', where Elizabeth Fraser makes a cameo appearance on backing vocals. Complementing this is the B-side remix, created by The Veldt around the turn of the century.

Pitchfork included The Veldt's album 'Afrodisiac', produced by the legendary Ray Shulman (The Sundays, Bjork, The Sugarcubes) and released via Mercury Records, in the top 50 shoegaze albums ever released, while Stereogum included ‘Until You’re Forever’ in the top 31 shoegaze tracks. Their sound also inspired future generations of alternative artists, including TV On the Radio.

The brothers got their musical start via the church and southern juke-joints, under the influence of gospel, Motown and Pink Floyd. The Veldt initially signed with Mammoth Records before a chain of major-label relationships that saw the group tour the USA and Europe with Throwing Muses, Pixies, Cocteau Twins and Jesus & Mary Chain.

After moving from Raleigh to New York, they briefly performed as Apollo Heightsbefore reclaiming their original name The Veldt. Joined by Japanese bassist-programmer Hayato Nakao, they produce a heady and sensual blend of shoegaze and progressive soul. Some of the band's recent notable releases include
'The Shocking Fuzz Of Your Electric Fur' EP (2017) and 'Entropy is the Mainline to God' LP (2022).

Having collaborated with TV On The Radio, Mos Def, Lady Miss Kier (Deee-Lite), A.R.Kane over the years, The Veldt has also toured / played with Violent Femmes, Brian Jonestown Massacre, The Pixies, Throwing Muses, Echo & The Bunnymen, Cocteau Twins, Manic Street Preachers, Phantogram, Modern English, The Jesus and Mary Chain, Oasis, Chuck D, Living Colour and Schooly D.

'Angel Heart' is out across music platforms, such as
Apple Music, Spotify and Bandcamp. On November 24, the 'Illuminated 1989' album will be released on vinyl, CD, cassette and digitally via Portland-based Little Cloud Records and 5BC Records. The Veldt is currently touring - from October through December, they're hitting many cities, performing at Levitation Festival (with The Dandy Warhols and The Black Angels) and at Seattle's KEXP.

Dead American Drop "ADD" Video

Dead American, a four-piece rock group out of Southern California, have unveiled the video for new single "ADD."

Watch the video
below. Stream the track here.

"Lyrically, this song is about the difficulty of finding balance when your mind is moving a million miles an hour. Sometimes, I feel like I'd rather hold my breath than deal with the constant shuffle of thoughts in my head," says vocalist Cove Reber (ex-Saosin).

After two years of touring with acts like The Used, Beartooth, Pierce The Veil, Sleeping With Sirens, Scary Kids Scaring Kids, and others to support their debut album New Nostalgia, Dead American are prepping their sophomore album, produced by Joey Bradford of The Used. The release will double-down on the "new nostalgia" theme with the band pulling from a time even farther back and fundamental to the member's approach to songwriting. "ADD," which is the abbreviation for "attention deficit disorder," serves as the first taste of new music in advance of the band's forthcoming studio album. The new album, the details of which will be revealed in the months ahead, is slated for release in the first half of 2024.

Fresh off two recent North American tours serving as support for The Used, Dead American will be releasing more new music and additional information about their new album in the coming months, as well as a preparing to keep up a rigorous touring schedule throughout 2024.

Dead American debuted in 2018 with the desire to tap into the nostalgic sound of 2000s post-hardcore with their EP The Shape of Punk Is Dumb, a sound they expanded on with their first LP New Nostalgia, which is arrived via Velocity Records in 2022.

SUPAFLY, A NEW MODERN ROCK PROJECT FEATURING RAY WEST OF SPREAD EAGLE, DROPS LYRIC VIDEO/SINGLE IN TIME FOR HALLOWEEN! FULL ALBUM COMING IN EARLY 2024

As one of the more dynamic vocalists of the early ‘90s, NYC native Ray West’s defiant screams and guttural wails defined a generation of street metal-loving headbangers. With Spread Eagle, West aided in the creation of iconic anthems such as the tormented “Switchblade Serenade” and “Devil’s Road.” Like many of his era, West rode out a turbulent period, coming out on the other side wiser and more confident than ever. He had renewed vigor and enhanced melodicism. West sought to create his most personal music yet with his longtime friend and partner in musical crime bassist, songwriter, producer, and esteemed session musician Miguel Gonzalez. Both grew up in the Miami rock n roll scene and have deep roots to the area’s culture and vibe, which they are excited to infuse into this project.

The result of the collaboration is SupaFly’s The Vibe, which features revisited and remastered versions of tracks previously recorded, as well as new compositions. Brimming with heavy urban-power grooves, SupaFly represents an evolution for West and is perhaps his most personal songwriting to date. Landing ahead of the album release is a knock-down drag-out version of the KC and the Sunshine Band classic “I’m Your Boogie Man” with a SupaFly twist just in time for Halloween.  So why this track? West explains, “Mig and I have always loved the idea of taking a song like ‘Boogie Man’ and putting it through the SupaFly machine. We are paying tribute to a time when music was all about the groove and having a good time, all the time, while putting a modern-day twist on it with Mig’s production ideas. The vibe is on point, and the vocal performance gives a dark edge that makes me feel like the boogie man is gonna come through the walls and dance. I played this song on my friend’s system, and the drop almost took out his woofers!”

View lyric video below.

Gonzalez continues, “‘Boogie Man’ embodies where old school funk meets the dark side. Being a huge fan of funk, nothing is more appealing than to see it played with a dark edge.” When pressed what else can fans expect from SupaFly, West quipped, “Spread Eagle will always have my heart. That’s my history. But SupaFly is my calling card; it’s autobiographical and leads deep into my soul. That’s why I never let these songs go.”

The full album The Vibe contains ten tracks with the next single due out December 8.  Deko president, Bruce Pucciarello, comments, “There has been great teamwork and a sense of urgency to get this wonderful collection of songs prepared for launch.  I’m stoked we’re getting the ‘I’m Your Boogie Man’ video out before Halloween.  You will all see, this is straight forward, hard driving, passionately constructed rock.  The kind most of us love…”

The official video features behind-the-scenes footage of L.S. Dunes working at Rancho De La Luna in Joshua Tree, California, the renowned desert studio where "Old Wounds" was originally recorded. Watch the "Old Wounds" DEMO official video below.

Stever says, "The original guitar part for 'Old Wounds' was conceived in the L.S. Dunes text thread. It was an old riff that I had never used. I stumbled on it and started working on it again and sent it in the middle of the night. Tim was the only one still awake… Tim had a positive response and showed enthusiasm, so I kept sending the riff ideas to him and he would give his opinion and notes. The next morning, I ran to my studio space and recorded the guitar parts. At this point, we had numerous instrumental ideas, and it was up to Anthony what songs we would choose for the desert sessions. He sent back the most beautiful and haunting vocals and lyrics to the guitar ideas that would become 'Old Wounds.' It then became clear that that would be one of the songs we needed to record."

The upcoming new album, Lost Songs: Lines and Shapes features early, stripped-down versions of all Past Lives' 11 tracks. Listening to these songs in their hyper-intense, original form provides a new, completely fresh view into Past Lives, while the uninitiated will appreciate it for what it is, a sterling artistic statement in its own right.

HEILUNG Release New Live Video

HEILUNG don't play shows. They perform a ritual. Every performance begins Kai Uwe Faust leading Christopher Juul, Maria Franz and their ritual collective in an ancient prayer. Soon after, the audience is swept into rapture, swayed by incense and throat singing, primordial rhythms, subtle electronic textures, a mesmerizing light show, an army of warriors and bursts of fire; a ritual.

Today, Heilung are releasing brand new footage from their performance at London's Apollo Theatre. Watch the hypnotic video for the Nordic collective's hit song "Anoana" and get a sneak peak at their full live concert DVDs, which will come out next year.

"Every tour has a beginning and an end", says Heilung. "We've captured both moments. After the long pause from the world's stages we kicked off our Amplified History Tour with the first ritual at the sold out Red Rocks Amphitheater, Denver CO, in October 2021. In January 2023 and 45 rituals later, we performed at the Apollo in London. These two rituals are the continuation of our original first performance from 2017, named LIFA, and will be released separately as "LIFA Iotungard" and "LIFA Llyn Dain ". The two releases will witness not only how far we've grown since 2017, but also exactly how far the ritual has evolved during the 15 months of touring".

Heilung are currently touring North America. They've already performed to sold-out crowds in Greensboro, Baltimore and Clearwater. The tour was scheduled to wrap up in Denver, but Heilung have now added another show. They'll play the Shrine Expo Hall in Los Angeles, California, on December 11.

Tickets are running low for the remaining dates. One dollar for each ticket sold will support a tree planting initiative.

Since its inception in 2015, the enigmatic ritual collective HEILUNG has been paving melodic paths to the past with their unique and mystifying sound. Evading all conventional genre tags and the confines of any specific labels, the group aptly self-describes their sound as “amplified history,” emphasizing their ability to connect modern society with the rudiments of humanity’s beginnings through music. HEILUNG once again journeys back in time with its new chapter, ‘Drif;’ however, unlike previous offerings that centered around prehistoric northern Europe, album number three will explore other great rudimentary civilizations outside of Europe.

“All the songs on ‘Drif’ have their own stories,” adds HEILUNG throat singer and one of the band’s three composers, Kai Uwe Faust. Each has its place and sense of belonging, with inspiration not only from Northern Europe, but from the ancient great civilizations,” explains the band. “We took the ancient surrounding advanced civilizations in account, because our ancestral Nordic civilizations did not just pop up, exist and disappear in isolation. Already in the Bronze Age, we found silk on German land that was imported already from the far, far East 3000 years ago. From the Viking age, we found beads that were brought there from present-day Syria high up in the Northern mountains.

“Centrally important concepts, still in extensive use today, like the number Zero and all the mathematical universes deriving from it, the use of iron and the general concept of settling all originate from traditional high civilizations outside the north and still fundamentally changing our ancestor’s world.

“With singing these primordial songs we want to give tribute to these cultures, reconnect to the beginnings and remember that we all, from East to West, from past to present, are connected through the exchange of ideas and inspiring each other.”
Meaning “gathering,” ‘Drif’ serves as more than merely a gateway that bridges history with modern day society, but is also a statement of the strength in unity and togetherness, which will come as no surprise to those who have experienced HEILUNG’s live ritual, in which every ceremony starts with a reminder that “we are all brothers.” “‘Drif’ means ‘gathering,’’ explains HEILUNG. “A throng of people, a horde, a crowd, a pack. In symbiosis with the album title, ‘Drif’ consists of a flock, a collection, a gathering, a collage of songs, that much like little flames were seeking towards each other, to join, to bond, to create, and be greater together.”

While HEILUNG features authentic and archaic instrumentation that ranges from rattles and ritual bells to human bones and throat singing, their captivating brand of music is far from primitive. Producer and founding member Christopher Juul implements subtle electronic elements that elevates the musical atmosphere and provides a more in-depth and layered soundscape.

“This album has very clearly dictated its own path. Our attempts to tame it were repeatedly fruitless, and once we came to this realization, the creative flow surged forward with immense force. So much so that sometimes it felt like the songs wrote themselves,” the band adds.

HEILUNG’s success has been unprecedented, achieving milestones in its few short years of existence that many do not see in a lifetime. The collective already had rapidly been growing a buzz upon the self-release of their first full-length, ‘Ofnir,’ in 2015, but their dizzying upward trajectory really took off from the moment they set foot on the stage at Castlefest in 2017 for the now-legendary debut of their live ritual. Luckily for those who were not fortunate enough to bare witness to this magical event, the full ceremony was captured on film, having since been viewed by tens of millions of fans across the globe.

As HEILUNG trekked across Europe and brought their mystifying experience to new audiences, talk of this new band and their stunning ceremony made way to Season of Mist label owner Michael Berberian, who quickly offered the band a record contract after seeing their undeniable musical impact for himself.

By 2019, HEILUNG launched their second full-length record, ‘Futha,’ which contrasted the masculine and battle-heavy themes of their debut with a feminine counterpart that celebrated fertility and female energy. Upon the first week of the record’s release, it graced the Billboard charts with coveted numbers, debuting at #3 on the Heatseekers Charts and #4 on the Billboard World Music Chart, placing on a total of seven Billboard charts while meeting critical-acclaim from the press on a global scale.

Having already made its way around Europe, HEILUNG announced its first ever North American tour for the start of 2020, which sold out entirely within 72 hours of ticket on-sale. The band later returned to the United States and performed their live ritual for a sold out audience of 10,000 people at the historic Red Rocks Amphitheater in Denver, CO (USA), further solidifying their early legacy status.

By this time, the band’s music started to appear in places outside the confines of music venues, videos, and vinyl. From hit television series like ‘Game of Thrones’ and ‘Vikings’ to video game giants like ‘Conqueror’s Blade VII: “Wolves of Ragnarök’ and ‘Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II’ to the blockbuster Robert Eggers film ‘The Northman,’ HEILUNG’s music has risen far above the underground and has transcended into a greater world. Even a global pandemic couldn’t slow down HEILUNG’s success; it only strengthened them and gave them the gift of time to complete work on album number three, ‘Drif.’

According to Greek philosopher Pythagoras, three is a divine number, signifying harmony, wisdom, and understanding. He also believed it to be the number of time – past, present, future; birth, life, death; beginning, middle, end. Purposefully or not, ‘Drif’ embodies this philosophy, putting forth a divine work of art that ties together the beginning of civilization with the modern world today. Make no mistake, HEILUNG still does not represent any modern political or religious ideology, but rather delivers a humbling reminder of where we came from. “Remember, we are all brothers. All people, beasts, tree and stone and wind, we all descend from the one great being that was always there, before people lived and named it, before the first seed sprouted.”

PROFILER - announce debut album 'A Digital Nowhere' + release video for 'All In Forever'

Alternative metal trio PROFILER have revealed the details of their debut album, A Digital Nowhere, that will be released on February 16th through SharpTone Records. To coincide with the announcement, the band have also released a video for the album's first single 'All In Forever'.

Vocalist and guitarist Mike Evans comments "I had a lot of fun writing this track. It’s actually the first track of the debut writing process. I think it creates a great follow up from our previous EP and continues our old sound, along with hinting what the debut encapsulates. I think it’s the perfect way to kick off A Digital Nowhere. I love the groove and bouncy riffs and I hope our fans enjoy the evolution of our sound."

Watch the video for 'All In Forever' below.

On the process of crafting their debut album, Mike Evans says "I had an amazing time writing our album A Digital Nowhere. Myself and Joe collaborated on this record more than the EP. This was a great opportunity to bounce ideas off of each other. I wrote the majority of the record isolated in my flat during the Covid 19 lockdowns. Although this time was stressful and alien it was a perfect opportunity to create. I think the record is a great evolution of our sound. We are really excited to show people a more varied and mature Profiler. We love the consistent punch of the production and crisp & clear mix that gives our songwriting the credit it deserves. We are incredibly grateful to everyone involved. This album is diverse, original and authentic to us and we feel we’ve created a body of music we will be proud of our whole career."

About PROFILER

Profiler is a Nu-Metal reawakening from the mind of vocalist and guitarist Mike Evans.

This band is inspired by those who have incited change in genres, arts, and theories. It's a weight of legacy that Profiler is comfortable shouldering, backed by SharpTone Records, its home since 2020.

After starting as a solo project in Bristol, UK, Mike stepped out from the studio and onto the stage, enlisting bassist/vocalist Joe Johnson and drummer Oscar Hocking. In early 2023, Oscar departed to be replaced by Brad Ratcliffe, cementing the line-up that would forge 2024's debut album, A Digital Nowhere.

Profiler's nu-metal-grunge-alt-rock, call it what you want, is an abrasive distorted soundscape that reverently glances back to those genres' heydays. Profiler is for anyone who misses or missed the contagious nineties Seattle grunge movement or the explosion of nu-metal that dominated the 00s and the genre-bending bands they made a path for.

PROFILER is:
Mike Evans - Vocals, Guitar
Joe Johnson - Bass
Brad Ratcliffe - Drums

KELAKOS RELEASES ITS FIRST SONG IN 45 YEARS

Today the 70s band Kelakos returns – 45 years after its last studio recordings -- with the first pre-release from the forthcoming 12-song album HURTLING TOWARDS EXTINCTION.  Lead singer / lead guitarist George Kelakos Haberstroh is back with a charismatic voice long-time Kelakos fans will instantly recognize, along with edgy lyrics and tasty guitar licks burning with intensity.

The band’s remixed, remastered 70s catalogue, a 15-track CD released in 2015 as KELAKOS UNCORKED: RARE TRACKS FROM A VINTAGE 70s BAND, gained recognition and critical praise 37 years after their 1978 album GONE ARE THE DAYS.  “Best Boston Band You’ve Never Heard” (CBS Boston Classic 1007WZLX) and “One of 2015’s Top New Music Re-Issues (Phil’s Picks) were among many strong reviews; Goldmine gave the release 4 stars. This brought the band members back together to test their appetite for new recordings.  The result was an explosion of rock energy, memorable songwriting and singing, and clean, rich production handled by Linc Bloomfield.  It is as if 45 years of time never happened.  Kelakos picked right up where it left off in 1978.

Livin’ on the Planet love is a first peek at this amazing new collection of Kelakos songs.  Carl Canedy on drums, Mark Sisson on pedal steel, and Linc Bloomfield on bass, rhythm guitars, keyboards and background vocals deliver a crisp, colorful track that rocks with the classic vibe and melodic hooks the band brought to every song since they recorded the first Kelakos single in 1976.
