Enterprise Earth Announce New Forthcoming Album 'Death: An Anthology' out February 2 (via MNRK Heavy) + Unleash New Single + Music Video "King of Ruination"

Enterprise Earth fans, rejoice! The band has made their triumphant return with the announcement of their forthcoming new album, 'Death: An Anthology', stacked with features from some of deathcore's finest including but not limited to, Matt Heafy (Trivium), Darius Tehrani (Spite), and Wes Hauch (Alluvial). The upcoming full-length will be released on Friday, February 2 (via MNRK Heavy). In celebration of the news, the band has unleashed their apocalyptic new single "King of Ruination" featuring Ben Duerr from Shadow of Intent (which premiered on SiriusXM's Liquid Metal) along with the hauntingly brutal official music video directed by Nick Chance. Speaking on today's news, the band shared:

"'King of Ruination' ushers in the new era of Enterprise Earth, a violent and punishing force of groove-centric metal. This is merely a glimpse of what we have in store for you all on 'Death: An Anthology', thank you for listening."

Vocalist Travis Worland also commented:

"Coming from a heinously religious upbringing and background, death has been at the forefront of my mind since childhood. Going to Hell, going to Heaven, going nowhere at all, being stuck between two polar opposite eternities. So, I wrote about it. From all manner of perspectives. The death of self, the death of someone or something important to you, the death of a relationship, the death of individuality, fantastical stories of what awaits us when we die. Death takes many forms and can be spoken of in so many different lights. This is my story of death and dying. This is 'Death: An Anthology'."

Chicago-based artist Evidence of a Struggle presents a new audio-visual experience for the latest single 'Seize'. This follows up 'Keep It', the only song on the album featuring vocals in a wonderful spoken-word meets post-rock clash.  His debut record, this 13-track collection takes the listener on a great instrumental journey, blending numerous sub-genres spanning the art rock and alternative music realm.

Surrounding the musings of multi-instrumentalist William P C Simmons V a.k.a. Rev. Billy Simmons, Evidence of a Struggle creates lush, cinematic, beautiful and sometimes chaotic compositions. While music thrives at night, other affairs rule his days. Rev. Billy owns and runs Rev. Billy's Chop Shop, a salon that is also an inclusive, creative space, hosting new artists' work bimonthly (and declared by Chicago Reader as the city's best gallery in 2019).

"Seize is the final song and animated video from Evidence of a Struggle's eponymous release from June 2023. It is a short of all seven videos made by artist John Airo from the 13-song instrumental album. Stay tuned for more from Evidence of a Struggle in 2024 and 2025 we have so much more for you to see and hear," says Rev Billy.

Launched in 2020, this ambitious debut album sees Rev. Billy play every instrument – guitar, drums, piano, synth and violin - recorded and engineered from his home studio, The Glue Factory. Once Covid restrictions were lifted, renowned sound engineer Sanford Parker (Voivod, Russian Circles, Yob, Eyehategod, Wovenhand, Darkthrone) helped produce, record and master the final versions of these songs.

Earlier, Rev. Billy collaborated with RCA artist Ké and artists on major labels RCA, Touch and Go, BMG and Universal. Evidence of a Struggle's next album involves collaborations with a wider circle of artists, including drummer Matt Walker (of1000faces, Smashing Pumpkins, Morrissey, Garbage, Filter) and bassist Alan Berliant (Chris Connelly, Mavis Staples, Saint Asonia), in addition to production support from Solomon Walker (Morrissey, Bryan Adams, Eastern Shadows, Year of the Rabbit).

UK-France duo The Noise Who Runs presents 'One Scratch Each', the first single from their new five-song EP ‘come and join the beautiful army’, to be released on November 22nd. This is a brooding, slightly menacing call to solidarity - an idealogical blueprint as to how the marketing and branding of the individual has resulted in increasingly negative impacts on society and humanity.

The Noise Who Runs is the brainchild of songwriter Ian Pickering (of Sneaker Pimps and Front Line Assembly), who also co-authored such hits as 'Spin Spin Sugar', '6 Underground' and 'Tesko Suicide'. Upon relocating from northern England to France, Pickering launched this project with Brazilian-French guitarist Felipe Goes.

Following up their April 2023 album ‘Preteretrospective’, which blended the abrasive beauty of electric guitars and electronica, 'One Scratch Each' is a more stripped-down take on the group’s sound - almost a bare, minimalist electronic groove, Felipe Goes’ electric guitar creating a raw, atmospheric complement to the drone bass keyboards and quirky drum machine rhythm. The vocals are simple and repetitive with just four different lyrics across the song, a distinct "less is more" approach.

“I would question the obsession of brands, marketing and advertising, primarily, on pushing such a vain, shallow concept of the individual - it’s a face-value, nothing beneath the surface kind of ideal. We are all born individuals, that should never need to be overtly demonstrated and insisted upon, it’s quite obviously what we all are. It can’t be proved with trinkets and adornments. The more salient point would be how we all come together as individuals and make a difference, a change for the better for the majority. Maybe the beautiful army lies in the forests away from the trenches; deserters, conscientious objectors and those that have been driven shellshock mad by the constant, oppressive noise of manufactured, idiotic right-wing culture wars,” says Ian Pickering.

“The beautiful army would be the people who reject the pathetic culture wars of populists, who proceed with compassion and empathy rather than instantly resort to knee-jerk outrage and sincerely believe that the some kind of optimistic future can still be salvaged from the slow-motion chaos of the inevitable car crash, in which we are currently forced to be passengers.”

As always with Pickering’s lyrics, the line between optimism and cynicism seem so blurred as to entwine like strands of DNA, the seemingly ever-present sense of contradiction - a trait that runs throughout all song by The Noise Who Runs and one that makes the tracks evolve and grow of their own accord the more you listen to them.

“The phrase "one scratch each" was a line left over from 'Takes A Long Cold Look And Then The Kitchen Sink', which was on the last album. Three little words - it doesn’t really need much else added to it - so musically, it felt, for us, like free rein to do something minimalist and less traditional and repeat the same phrase. This is a call for solidarity in a world constantly being sown with division and discord," says Pickering.

"So far, the start of the 21st Century seems remarkably like repeating the mistakes of the early 20th Century. In the First World War, all that flag-waving, jingoistic sense of and pride in nationality across Europe, the othering of governments and nations all engaged in the same exploitation of other continents, resulted in the most obscene and needless carnage and it feels, today, as if nothing has changed, other than that rather than conscripting us all and sending us to France and Belgium for the slaughter, the big push would appear to be starving us to death in our own homes while we work all the hours of the day for a monthly wage that barely covers the cost of living."

The full ‘come and join the beautiful army' EP was mixed and mastered by Colin C at The Cell Studio, whose clients include CBS, FOX, NBC / Universal, Showtime, HBO and Lionsgate Films and such artists as Front Line Assembly and Danny Saber (Black Grape, Alice Cooper, David Bowie, Madonna).

When rules break, rock ‘n’ roll moves forward. Standing at a crossroads between 21st century attitude and old school arena-size ambition, Pistols At Dawn lock and load hard-hitting hooks, magnetic melodies, and intricate instrumentation in a searing signature style. The Atlanta quartet—Adam Jaffe [drums], Will James [lead guitar], Gabriel Cuevas [bass], and Jon Sookdew Sing [lead vocals+rhythm guitar]—re-energize the genre, while maintaining its edge. After independently amassing over 6 million streams and collaborating with icons such as GRAMMY® Award-winning producer and engineer Sylvia Massy [Tool, System of a Down, Johnny Cash], the group deliver eight anthems on their 2022 full-length album, Ascension, via distributor Megaforce Records/MRI Entertainment. “All of our influences come out in the music, but with our own stamp,” says Adam. “There’s definitely a hard rock vibe combined with progressive lyrics. When you add these elements together, it beautifully combusts in Pistols At Dawn.”

Speaking to this alchemy, in 2015 the band immediately entered the studio with producer Jeff Tomei [Smashing Pumpkins, Matchbox 20] to record their first singles before entertaining various other projects. During 2019, the original lineup joined forces again. Ultimately, original founder Jaffe completed the lineup with incendiary world class guitarist James, and elite progressive rock duo Sookdew Sing and Cuevas.

They unleashed music at a prolific pace in addition to personally engaging fans worldwide with an immersive online presence. “Cold” exploded to the tune of 1 million streams across platforms followed by "Gauntlet" and "All You Offer" with another million streams. Working with producer Jeff Tomei, they unleashed the Nocturnal Youth EP in 2021. The opener and lead single “Voices” impressively generated 1 million plays in under a month. In the midst of the Global Pandemic, they caught the attention of Massy and recorded what would become Ascension with the legendary producer behind the board alongside co-producer Chris Pierson.

Musically and thematically, it allowed a sliver of light to pass through the world’s darkness. “On Nocturnal Youth, we were going through a dark time in the Global Pandemic,” Jaffe states. “On Ascension, we’re coming into the light and embracing life. There’s still dark subject matter on the record, but it was positive to write. It melded together the way we’d always hoped.”

Anchored by a balance of extremes, the lead single “The Truth” nods to nineties alternative with a distinct and dynamic twist. Adam goes on, “It revolves around the constant noise we have in our head pushing and pulling our emotions so much that we sometimes lose total control and explode. We have to be careful to maintain our thoughts and emotions, or ‘The Truth’ is that they could tear us apart.”

Elsewhere, the opener and follow-up single “Under The Surface” immediately sets the tone with a hypnotic riff and hard-hitting vocal, barely containing its cathartic momentum in the searing lyrics, “Take what you want and leave me for dead. All that I need is under the surface.”

“This song deals with the hell some have to go through above ground with people constantly taking, lying, and poisoning,” he reveals. “So, you want to be buried deep to get away from society where no one will find you.”

“Fly” leans into a dark chorus and instantly memorable hook, equally soaring and shuddering all at once. It strikes a chord with its timeless theme presented through a nocturnal prism. “It’s a powerful and dark love song about wanting to disappear with your true love,” he elaborates. “Musically, diversity was important to us. So, each song really tells a different story with a distinct sound.”

Indicative of this diversity, “For You” steamrolls forward on a hulking groove fortified by a punchy riff and towering refrain. It sets the tone for the rollercoaster to follow. “It’s about finding someone really special who is worth changing for,” notes Adam. “If you find someone you love enough, you’ll change. It’s the light at the end of the tunnel.”

Ultimately, Pistols At Dawn ignite a fresh and fiery vision for rock all their own.
“We want to take you on a ride,” Jaffe leaves off. “We just love playing music. One moment, we hope you’re inspired to take on the world. In the next, we hope you scream along. In another, you just chill. It’s meant to be fun and exciting overall. At the end, we hope you want to take the ride again and again.”

A fiery, resurrected rage barrels its way out of hell’s erupting chasms with blistering fury; Fuming Mouth has returned. Lead singer, guitarist, and founder Mark Whelan emerges triumphant after a life-threatening battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia, rekindling the inferno of their music with Fuming Mouth's second full-length album, Last Day of Sun.

What initially began as a full-on, fictional concept album underwent a profound transformation into a concept-reality hybrid, largely influenced by Whelan's harrowing conflict with his health and anear brush with death. Just three weeks away from recording the album, Whelan was struck with a devastating cancer diagnosis. While bravely fighting the illness, he rewrote melodies, drum sections, and lyrics, infusing the music with his personal journey of struggle and hope.

The recording sessions began in October 2022, with Grammy Award winning Kurt Ballou of Converge at his studio, God City, in Salem, Massachusetts. Ballou reached out to Whelan after his battle with cancer and encouraged him to get back to their previously scheduled recording session. Working closely with Ballou in both engineering and production, the band found a wonderful and collaborative experience, as Ballou invested himself wholeheartedly in shaping their sound and vision. Salem itself also helped shape the album, as the Halloween Season had begun. Droves of tourists and residents mixing with people in costume made the streets of Salem seem like Last Day of Sun had come to life. The city where the Witch Trials took place presented the perfect setting for the album to be recorded.

At the genesis of this record, there was no other artist that could have captured the album's essence better than Mariusz Lewandowski, with whom the band had already established a creative relationship through his work on the cover art of The Grand Descent. Tragically, Mariusz passed away while working on the album artwork, presenting the band with an immense obstacle to overcome. In tribute to his spirit and legacy, they joined forces with the talented artist Stefan Todorovic who crafted an evocative album cover depicting a Faustian city crumbling amidst the gray and sandy storms of the apocalypse. A colossal monster blocks the sun and hovers above the city as it burns, smoky buildings topple to the ground; all a visual representation of the chaos and darkness that permeates the album.

Fuming Mouth stands resilient, a testament to the indomitable human spirit. Amidst the carnage and depression lies a flicker of hope - a beacon of light that emanates from within. But as the last rays of the sun cast their shadow, the question remains. Will the people in Last Day of Sun survive? Will their worst inhibitions play out, will they rip each other to shreds, will they give up? Will everything they’ve built have been for not? Will they find a way to overcome, or will their panic lead to failure?

Osiah Announce New Album 'Kairos' Out December 8 (via Unique Leader Records) + Drop New Single + Lyric Video "A Great Nothing"

Deathcore quartet Osiah has today announced their new forthcoming album 'Kairos' set for release on Friday, December 8 (via Unique Leader Records). In celebration of the news, the band has unleashed their latest single "A Great Nothing" and the accompanying lyric video. Speaking on today's announcement, the band shared:

"Throughout Osiah’s musical journey we have constantly strived to find out who we are as a band, since our last album ‘Loss’ we have taken the time to experiment more in order to fully utilise our creative freedom and find the uniqueness that lies within us. Hailing from the extreme music melting pot that is the northeast of England, Osiah transcends the deathcore label with what could possibly be the most torturous barrage of filth the UK has produced in recent years. Crushingly intense breakdowns and deathly chops tread a familiar path, but jarringly detuned guitars, unpredictable tempo changes and vocals that range from wide-ranging pitched screams to commanding guttural bowel openers add an extra evil to the sound that cannot be put into words.

After releasing their first EP 'Reborn Through Hate' in 2015, Osiah released their first full-length album ‘Terror Firma’ in June 2016 via Siege Music. The album gained praise from Metal Hammer Magazine, Bloody Disgusting, and many other prestigious publications, cementing the band as the hottest and heaviest band on the UK deathcore scene.

The resulting work lead to the band signing to Unique Leader Records in 2018 and releasing their sophomore album 'Kingdom of Lies' in 2019. In 2021, Osiah released their third album 'Loss' and unleashed their latest EP 'Chronos' in early 2023.

Jenna Paulette has experienced firsthand the ebbs and flows of being a rancher alongside her family, working cattle on their ranch in Thackerville, Oklahoma. It’s where she learned the value of living off the land, along with the stressors that coincide with a livelihood that depends on factors outside of your control – weather, market prices, tariffs and more – and which often lead to increased rates of depression, addiction and suicide among ag workers. 
 
Challenging the traditional notion of how people view cowboys and the stigma that prevents many from speaking about their reality, Paulette debuts her official music video for “You Ain’t No Cowboy” in partnership with the Texas Department of Agriculture today to coincide with World Mental Health Day. Directed by Quinton Cook, the video spans nearly five minutes with the intention of encouraging mental health conversations among ag workers and providing resources for them to seek help by directing people to the 988 Suicide & Crisis Hotline. Opening with the sobering fact from the National Rural Health Association that the suicide rate among the agriculture community is 3.5 times higher than the national average, the video explores the spiral of a difficult season and a cowboy who relies on alcohol and drugs to cope.
 
For Paulette, it’s an important message that she hopes will help to change the perception of a cowboy. To her, a cowboy isn’t defined by the job, but is someone with the character to overcome any obstacle thrown their way. Expanding on the concept, she shares, “Whether you struggle with addiction, a cycle of harmful thoughts, suicide, depression, financial disaster, the list is long… Sometimes putting a stake in the ground is making a phone call to a helpline; sometimes it’s taking a hard look in the mirror at who you are and deciding that’s not who you want to be.
 
“The power to change and have a full life is there for the taking, you’re just a decision away from a redeemed life. This video is a call to action for those suffering and the end is a glimpse of hope into the life of a real man who is on the other side of adversity.”
 
As the story progresses, it ends on a hopeful note, inspired by the men in Paulette’s life who have weathered the storm, found help and came out stronger because of it – including her cowboy, Ross.
 
“The cowboys in my world, including Ross, the love of my life, have overcome one or many of those challenges… Ross is five years sober; he plays the cowboy in the video. I knew him after he quit using and drinking. He made a conscious decision to take his life back and with grace and the strength of God, good men and family around him he was able to do it,” she adds.
 
The moving song is one of 16 tracks off her debut album, The Girl I Was, which arrived in March, showcasing a level of honesty that left The Tennessean musing “gripping clarity, emotion and feeling are more readily apparent in her work than ever before,” and Billboard noting she arrives “confident” and “carefree.” Paulette made her Grand Ole Opry debut on Aug. 18 and is set to perform the National Anthem at the National Finals Rodeo on Dec. 13.

"'Thaw' is a thematically more bizarre exploration into electronics for END," the band shares. "It's a very boundary-less song and one of the more self-fulfilling moments found in the writing process.  As a musician, it's important to express the purest intent of your thoughts, and sometimes that requires reaching beyond the normal instrumentation one is accustomed to. The result is something new for us, but also a part of us. Thank you to Debbie Gough of Heriot for lending her voice to the track. And thank you for giving this new creative passage a listen."

END initially materialized during 2017. The group's From the Unforgiving Arms of God EP spawned the fan favorite "Necessary Death," and lead to a signing with label Closed Casket Activities.

Highlighted by "Covet Not" and "Absence," the band bulldozed the senses with their 2020 full-length debut, Splinters From an Ever-Changing Face. Brooklyn Vegan hailed "Pariah" as "an absolutely filthy dose of modern metalcore," and Kerrang! went as far as to describe their debut LP as "catharsis fed through a distortion pedal and shaped into a dense, destructive wrecking ball." Perhaps, Invisible Oranges put it best" "These gentlemen have come together to summon a fury seldom heard on any album from the realms of hardcore, grind, and black metal…"

In 2023, the members congregated once again to write and recorded what would become this sophomore release. "Part of the goal was to do things our way," states Putney. "We didn't want to lean on our influences too heavily, whether it's in terms of production, guitar tone, arrangement, or other elements. We were like, 'Let's just make a record that sounds like END.' I feel like there's more of an identity to the band than there has ever been on this record." The final result is a unique blend of HM2 driven Grind and Metallic Hardcore cross over with moments of Industrial chaos over ten tracks. Featuring guest vocal appearances by J.R. Hayes (Pig Destroyer), Debbie Gough (Heriot), and Dylan Walker (Full of Hell), this Graphic Nature Audio recording clocks in over 30 minutes of unhinged aggression and grind. Produced and engineered by Will Putney and featuring the art of Alex Eckman-Lawn, this release pushes the complexity of END both sonically and visually. Portland-based Pete International Airport has released 'Tic Tac' 7" vinyl version via Little Cloud Records, pressed on translucent yellow vinyl.  Featuring Slowdive goddess Rachel Goswell as both vocalist and co-writer, the single is complemented by a remix by the iconic Anton Newcombe (The Brian Jonestown Massacre) as the B-side.

Pete International Airport is the brainchild of guitarist Peter G. Holmström of The Dandy Warhols.  Named after one of their songs, this eclectic project builds immersive soundscapes that are also classic, catchy songs.  Holmström has an uncanny ability to curate, with a penchant for dropping collaborators into challenging creative spaces—both virtual and actual—then letting them duke it out.

'Tic Tac' is lifted from PIA's recently released third album 'It Felt Like The End of the World' - a meticulously crafted psychedelic rock journey into the dark heart of electronica.

"I co-wrote 'Tic Tac'. I bought his last album and I really liked it. Peter Holmström has different singers on each song and co-writes with everybody, which I think is a really interesting way to work. Obviously, Pete is a guitarist, first and foremost, and a very good one. He sent me music for 'Tic Tac, and it's actually changed a lot. It was a lot more guitar-y, the original musical piece that he sent me, and it got really stripped down and changed," says Rachel Goswell.

"I think he sent me that in 2020. That was a COVID lockdown year and I had a lot of stuff going on. It took me I think nearly about a year to actually get around to sitting down properly and writing it. I kept procrastinating about doing it and then once I'd done it, I was really pleased with it. But I think as a record, there's some great songs on it. I didn't know who else had written with him on this record, I was just really happy to be a part of it. It is quite a broad spectrum musically, and quite eclectic."

Trust the teller – or the tale – when only fragments exist?
You had to be there… maybe.

Philadelphia-based art-rock duo Tulipomania has teamed up with the legendary Martyn Ware and Charles Stooke on a new remix, along with an intriguing animated music video, featuring lip sync, original footage and vintage found footage – some vibrantly tinted in pastel – all collaged on sheets of black paper, shot frame by frame.

Martyn Ware of Heaven 17 and The Human League fame is otherwise renowned for lifetime achievements in innovative musicianship, including as a record producer for artists such as Tina Turner, Terence Trent D'Arby, Chaka Khan, Erasure and Marc Almond. On this remix, Ware is joined by Charles Stooke, co-composer for the Illustrious Company, which Ware founded with Vince Clark in 2001. Apart from being released digitally, the ‘You Had to Be There (Martyn Ware & Charles Stooke Remix)’ is also be featured on WIRE Magazine’s cover-mounted Wiretapper CD compilation for October.

The animated music video is an official selection at the CutOut Fest International festival of animation and digital art taking place November 16-19 in Querétaro, Mexico.

Alternately categorized as cult synth punks, glam-leaning, post-punk, art-rock and muscular chamber pop, Tulipomania is made up of Tom Murray (lead vocals, synthesizer, electronic percussion) and Cheryl Gelover (synthesizer, background vocals), who first began their collaboration through projects for experimental film and animation classes.  The duo now known as Tulipomania has evolved from those experiences.

Cheryl Gelover notes, “We reached out to Martyn and Charles and were so glad they were interested in remixing the track – they kept the original mood but added additional orchestration – especially in the intro and outro – and took the song’s groove in a totally different direction – which we really love.”

'You Had to Be There' is the first taste of Tulipomania’s album 'Dreaming of Sleep'(out November 17 via Sursumcorda Records). Establishing the conceptual viewpoint of this record – that embracing contradiction invites accountability – the Dada-esque stance channels a hopeful innervating energy. When navigating the morass – trust the teller – or the tale? You had to be there... maybe. Exploring varied states of disintegration and recombination, the accompanying video involves the painstaking assembly of thousands of individual images.

On ‘Dreaming of Sleep’ – their fifth album – Tulipomania immerses themselves fully in electronic means of creation – the exception being a sole accent played on electric guitar. Featuring cover artwork by Michael Speed, senior designer at Beggars Group London, this record involves Executive Producer Howard Thompson, renowned for his contributions as a record industry executive (Elektra, Island, Almo Sounds), having discovered and/or worked with such artists as Adam and the Ants, Billy Bragg, MC5, Mötorhead, PiL, Psychedelic Furs, Robyn Hitchcock, The Sugarcubes, Suicide, among others.

"There has been an overwhelming sense of dread and mistrust obviously brewing for a long time. In the post-Trump post-pandemic now - if it is or ever will be possible to be post either of those cataclysmic events –  I wonder what the future will ask about it all," says Tom Murray.

"I wonder what the future will not understand and want to clarify about the self-serving lies, liars and grifters, and the foolishness of many who were here but not present in any real sense – unable or unwilling to see what was and is happening as everything rolls up to the very well placed few. I don't know what we can tell the future that can make this recent history any clearer. Maybe it is and has always been – and will always be this way. Maybe, you had to be there."

Described as ‘artistic and inventive’ and ‘gorgeous', Tulipomania's animated music videos have been featured in film festivals worldwide. Numerous such festivals have already showcased this new video as an official selection, including the Leeds International Film Festival (UK), StopTrik (Croatia, Poland), AniFilm (Czech Republic), Insomnia (Russia) and Malatesta (Italy) with the Montreal International Animation Film Festival - Animaze awarding it an Honorable Mention.

The pair also recently created two animated music videos - 'Hush' and 'Shock To The Body' - for Cabaret Voltaire co-founder and frontman Stephen Mallinder in support of his solo album 'tick, tick, tick', released last year on Dais Records.

On October 6, 'You Had To Be There (Martyn Ware & Charles Stooke Remix)’ is available everywhere, including Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp. On November 17, the full 'Dreaming of Sleep' album will be released on CD, vinyl and digitally. It can be pre-ordered via Bandcamp.

It's an arena-sized jam that would sound as awesome billowing throughout as a sold-out stadium as it would from the DJ speakers at a wedding. It will invite you to dance the night away with its huge and harmonized choruses. It's the alt pop band's most rockin' anthem of its new era and you won't be able to escape its hooks.

"Putting together the 'SPEAKING OUR LANGUAGE TOUR' was unlike any other we have ever done," says BLG's Martin Johnson about how this version came to be. "We wanted to personally ask bands we were fans of and friends with to join and create a mini festival experience we would want to watch ourselves. I had written 'THE OUTSIDE' with Sean Foreman from 3OH!3 some years back and loved the idea of making a version with them on it. After booking the tour and becoming friends with Derek [DiScanio] from State Champs, we also talked about doing a feature. So when Brian and I from The Summer Set started texting and Jordan from The Ready Set jumped on a couple shows, we knew what we had to do."

He continues, "Already an underdog anthem dedicated to the music scene we grew up in…'THE OUTSIDE' was the perfect song for a full-on circus version with all the boys. Making this version was one of the most rewarding projects I've ever worked on. PLAIN WHITE T'S — Tom Higgenson [vocals], Tim Lopez [lead guitar, vocals], Mike Retondo [bass], and De'Mar Hamilton [drums] — recently announced their new, self-titled album, out November 17 via Fearless Records. Pre-order it here.

With its gentle, acoustic guitar strumming, lilting melodies, and talk-sung vocals that deliver relatable, journal-honest lyrics, "You Plus Me" has a delightfully retro vibe. It's a simple, pretty, and resonant ode to finding and loving your person through good times and bad. Ultimately, this song could have a second life in a montage in a movie where a starstruck couple is trying to find its way back to one another.

"'You Plus Me' is a song about finding that person who is just as weird and nerdy as I am," says Higgenson. "It's our flaws and our uniqueness that brings us together. There's kind of an 'us against the world' mentality in this song and I love that! We purposely left the recording very raw and stripped down to let that spontaneity and misfit charm shine through."

As for the album, the band took its time and truly tapped into the essence that is the Plain White T's.
 
"We were trying to hark back to sounds we've used in the past with a freshness," Higgenson says. "This one came from a really authentic place of understanding who we are and what we do. I'm more excited than I've been in a long time. As musicians, we're always trying to outdo ourselves or go somewhere we haven’t gone before. Somehow, we figured out how to go to a fresh spot and still sound like Plain White T's."

The band will also appear at the second annual When We Were Young Festival in Las Vegas later this month.

Swedish blackened death metallers Night Crowned have released the second single "Flickan Som Försvann", taken from the band's upcoming album Tales. Following the successful launch of their first single "De Namnlösa", the band keeps captivating listeners with their mesmerizing blend of dark and atmospheric soundscapes.

Vocalist K. Romlin states: ''Flickan Som Försvann was the first demo I wrote lyrics for. I was inspired by an old Swedish punk song, but I wanted the words to be more graphic, more horrific, almost provocative, and I think I managed to do that. This is by far the darkest lyrics I have ever written."

The recording process took place over the course of several weeks with producer Jason Suecof in Florida and saw the return of live drums since COVID-19 restrictions made doing so on Graveside Confessions impossible. Mastered by Mark Lewis in Nashville, TN, the album was also co-produced by vocalist Scott Ian Lewis and drummer Shawn Cameron. The cover artwork glows with an emerald and lavender fog; a ghostly energy erupting from the depths of a cemetery. Designed by renowned comic book artist E.M. Gist, this gateway represents the questions we ask about what lies on the other side of reality. 

Decades ago, wealthy intellectuals began installing psychomanteum in their homes; a secret room completely filled with mirrors, or a single mirror, and in complete darkness, in order to speak to the dead in other dimensions, and gain their knowledge. It was often used as a healing tool to help dissolve grief or considered a form of prophecy. Necromanteumpresents the concept: What if you could use that kind of room to speak with death, itself? What secrets of the world could you uncover from a direct conversation with the grim reaper? Not a monster, but a fellow intellect.

STRIGOI Announce New EP

Strigoi were already plenty unsettling on their debut album. But the UK death-doom band's follow-up pushed their grinding asphyxiations to such vile extremes, that it produced an abundance of putridity.

'Bathed In A Black Sun' includes four unreleased or exclusive songs from 'Viscera'. Get re-acquainted with the pure, unadultered filth of the title track, which is slimed with sludge riffs and a crusty drum groove.

"We are pleased to finally do this, as ultimately 'Bathed In A Black Sun' as a track is lamentably all the more relevant today than it was when it was written", says bassist Chris Casket. "We also wanted to release this EP as a companion to the album 'VISCERA', so finally all the tracks recorded during that studio session are available for all to 'enjoy' the extra cuts of raging spite and cold despair."

Greg Mackintosh already had one side project from his main gig as the guitarist for Paradise Lost. But when Vallenfyre ran its course, he started Strigoi with bassist Chris Casket in hopes of dragging death and doom metal even further afield. 

'Bathed In A Black Sun' proves that Strigori can mold nasty blackened death doom from anything – even their own remains. 

When Paradise Lost guitarist Greg Mackintosh put to rest his Vallenfyre side project in 2018, he closed a difficult, but ultimately cathartic period in his life. Created as a tribute to his father John, who passed away in 2009, Vallenfyre originally served as a sounding board for Greg’s grief, but then delved into his nihilistic take on the world. Vallenfyre’s brief existence was intentional — the band always knew they could go no further than the three studio albums that bore their name.

A mere few days after Vallenfyre played its last live show in September 2018, Mackintosh announced the formation of a brand-new band with Vallenfyre bassist Chris Casket (Ex. Extreme Noise Terror), Strigoi. The English twosome released their debut album Abandon All Faith on 22nd November 2019 which was met by widespread critical acclaim and support. From this success, the band began preproduction to take the project live, recruiting to the line-up drummer Guido Zima (Ex Implore / The Secret) and live guitarist Sam Kelly-Wallace (Ex Vallenfyre) to begin spreading their foreboding gospel throughout the European festival circuit.

Unfortunately, due to the global pandemic that hit Spring 2020 Strigoi were unable to perform live as planned, and realising this situation was going to be a long-term constraint Greg and Chris decided to begin writing for a second album. This 18-month process culminated in Strigoi signing to Season Of Mist records, then heading to Orgone Studios UK to track 14 brand new songs under the watchful eye of award winning producer Jamie Gomez Arellano.

The bands line up, now set with the addition of guitarist Ben Ash (Satyricon / Ex. Carcass) completed the recording of the album ‘Viscera’ in October 2021, subsequently mixed by Kurt Ballou at GodCity Studios and mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege Studios. ‘Viscera’ represents the further evolution of Strigoi as a band, a concept fully realised as a statement of terror, malaise, and ultimately a record representing what Greg and Chris wanted to achieve from the band’s inception.

Their new 'Bathed in Black Sun' EP includes five unreleased songs from the recording sessions for 'Viscera'. The title track is pure, unadulterated filth, slimed with sludge riffs and a crusty drum groove.
