PARMALEE’S “GIRL IN MINE” TOP 10 AND CLIMBING

Perseverance pays off as the band earns spot as one of country radio’s most played Groups of the Year

Will guest host Middays the Month of August for KKGO Los Angeles;
Tour with Train awaits

Through hardship and triumph, Parmalee has endured and landed a spot as one of the most played groups on country radio, celebrating their latest Top 10 single, “Girl In Mine.” With three #1 singles to their credit, “Girl In Mine” is the follow-up single to their smash hit song “Take My Name,” which was Billboard’s Most Played Country Song of 2022.

“We have been chasing this ‘crazy dream’ for many years,” said lead singer Matt Thomas. “We have fans that have been with us since the beginning, and to still see those faces and bunch of new ones is why we do this. We’ve had some really difficult times along the way, but we’ve never wavered and getting the chance to be out there and play our music for the crowds is still what drives us. We’re having more fun today than ever!”

Last week, the group headlined the Ole Smoky Moonshine & Yee-Haw Brewing “Tailgate Throwdown” as part of the weeklong festivities for the SEC Media Days, which took place in Nashville. The group was recently highlighted in a Good Morning America/ABC News feature about CMA Music Fest. Watch the clip below.

With a full slate of summer festivals and amphitheaters, Parmalee will take their brand of country music to more than a dozen shows with Grammy Award winners, Train. “We’re thrilled about the tour with Train, and we’ve been fans of them and their music for a long time,” said Matt. “They share a band mentality, just like we do, and I feel like we’re cut from the same cloth in a lot of ways. We’re excited to play our music for their fans.”

ABOUT PARMALEE:
Parmalee is one of Country music's most successful acts with three #1 singles, multiple platinum records, and more than 1 Billion on-demand streams. Comprised of brothers Matt and Scott Thomas (lead vocals/guitar and drums, respectively), cousin Barry Knox (bass), and life-long friend Josh McSwain, the North Carolina natives first topped the charts with “Carolina,” followed by their PLATINUM-certified No. 1 single with Blanco Brown, “Just the Way.” They followed with “Take My Name,” which was Billboard’s Most Played Country Song of 2022. WORM SHEPHERD Descend With Ominous New EP 'The Sleeping Sun' And New Single "The Dying Heavens"

Symphonic deathcore devastators WORM SHEPHERD are returning with their crushing new EP 'The Sleeping Sun', due out 8/18 via Unique Leader Records pre-save the EP HERE. As a blood-curdling taste of the release, the band has unleashed new single "The Dying Heavens" with an accompanying lyric video, available now. Watch below and listen HERE.

'The Sleeping Sun' EP marks the next grim chapter in WORM SHEPHERD's rapid ascent since their striking 2021 debut album 'In The Wake Ov Sol'. Across 5 epic tracks, the band showcase their trademark blend of destructive deathcore and cinematic orchestral arrangements.

On the creation of the EP, guitarist Tre Purdue shares:

“This EP has a ton of layers to it. We wanted to capture a lot of elements that we haven’t tackled before and retain some of the sound we’ve had previously. When I wrote this EP I wanted you to experience something new every song. Going from emotional melodies to bone crushingly heavy… I think is something we captured perfectly on this EP and is only a taste of what’s to come, as we continue to grow and experiment with our sound.”

Fans may recognize "The Frozen Lake Part II" which was previously released as a standalone single along with a chilling music video earlier this year. Now the song has found its rightful place within the immersive narrative of 'The Sleeping Sun' EP, having racked up 55,000 YouTube views and over 153k Spotify streams.

Prepare to be entranced by WORM SHEPHERD's expansive symphonic visions when 'The Sleeping Sun EP' rises on 8/18.

ABOUT WORM SHEPHERD

Formed in 2019, WORM SHEPHERD are a cutting-edge symphonic deathcore band based in Brockton, MA.

Their debut album 'In the Wake Ov Sol' made waves upon its release in 2021, showcasing the band's dexterous musicianship and cinematic flair and was praised as "one of the most promising deathcore debuts in recent memory" (Distorted Sound), "an atmospheric and emotive masterpiece" (Metal Injection) and "a dynamic symphonic reimagining of deathcore" (Ghost Cult Magazine).

Blending blackened death metal, old school deathcore and dramatic orchestral arrangements, WORM SHEPHERD have quickly become a rising force in the extreme metal underground that shows no signs of slowing down.

REPENTANCE - Unleash Lyric Video for Second Single "Buried By Fear"; New Album to be Released September 1st on Noble Demon!

Chicago, Illinois based metal outfit REPENTANCE has delivered another intense taste of their highly-anticipated sophomore full-length record, entitled The Process Of Human Demise, which will be out on September 1 via powerhouse label Noble Demon. Following the release of the first single "Withered & Decayed" (feat. Milo Silvestro of FEAR FACTORY), REPENTANCE follows up today with a lyric video for the album's opening track "Buried By Fear".

Guitarist Shaun Glass comments: "When we first started up the early jams of this song I knew it was something special & 100% was going to be a absolute bruiser of a song. Fast forward to June at the return of Milwaukee Metal Fest we debuted the song live for everyone and it was quite the response and for us as well! I can 100% say this track will punch you in the throat but in a good way!"

Vocalist Adam Gilley adds: "Buried by Fear is a smash to the face right from the start. It has the thrash and the groove to keep you moving. The song is about the fear of the unknown, the fear of death. Not knowing what is to be offered on the other side."

Watch the video for "Buried By Fear" here:

Founded in 2018 by former SOIL and DIRGE WITHIN guitarist Shaun Glasss, REPENTANCE is a primal aggressive metal band; laden thick with heavy slabs of groove mesh that bleed intensity. Having played numerous gigs with high profile acts such as Trivium, Devildriver, Jinjer, Skull Fist, Toxic Holocaust, Sacred Reich and others, the band soon became known for their distinctive heavy yet dynamic sound, loaded with details and tension.

In September 2021 REPENTANCE have announced their worldwide signing to Noble Demon, followed by the release of the band's critically acclaimed latest EP Volume I - Reborn (2021). Five tracks of aggressive, fast-paced and technical compositions, enhanced by tight and sharp production, delivered an impressive Noble Demon debut and served as the perfect appetizer for the band's sophomore full-length record. The Process Of Human Demise features 12 brand new tracks showcasing REPENTANCE at their strongest yet - With guest contributions from the likes of TRIVIUM's Corey Beaulieu and FEAR FACTORY's Milo Silvestro, the band's upcoming album has become a relentless and intense maelstrom that will sweep you along and an album not to be missed in 2023!

BMG ANNOUNCE HEADCAT VINYL AND CD RELEASES OF 'WALK THE WALK...TALK THE TALK/LIVE IN BERLIN/DREAMCATCHER' AVAILABLE SEPTEMBER 15TH

HeadCat is an American rockabilly supergroup formed by vocalist/bassist Lemmy (of Motörhead), drummer Slim Jim Phantom (of The Stray Cats) and guitarist Danny B. Harvey (of Lonesome Spurs and The Rockats).

This coming September 15th sees the welcome reissue of the bands 2011 album ‘Walk The Walk…Talk The Talk’ on CD and vinyl, alongside the first CD release of the live ‘Dreamcatcher’ album (first released on vinyl in 2022 for RSD), and the debut release on double-vinyl, CD and digital of the previously unheard ‘Live In Berlin’ album, recorded at Huxley’s in Berlin, Germany on 18th October 2011.

Pre-order the releases
HERE

To celebrate these releases, today HeadCat reveal a new digital single entitled ‘American Beat (Live at Huxley's, Berlin)’, taken from the ‘Live In Berlin’ album.

The band was formed after recording the Elvis Presley tribute album by Swing Cats A Special Tribute to Elvis in July 1999 to which the future bandmates all contributed. After recordings were finished they stayed at the studio and Lemmy picked up an acoustic guitar and started playing some of his old favorite songs by Johnny Cash, Buddy Holly, and Eddie Cochran. The rest of the guys knew them all and joined in. The name of the band was created by combining the names Motörhead, The Stray Cats, and 13 Cats, which resulted in HeadCat.

In 2006, the band released their first studio album ‘Fool's Paradise’. It included cover songs from artists such as Buddy Holly, Carl Perkins, Jimmy Reed, T-Bone Walker, Lloyd Price, Elvis Presley, and Johnny Cash. On the recordings, Lemmy played acoustic guitar. In later years, Lemmy began to use his signature Rickenbacker bass in live performances.

HeadCat redefined rock ‘n’ roll in their own way as they took all of the elements that made this groundbreaking genre so exciting to generations of rockers, and gave it their own eclectic twist.

‘Walk The Walk… Talk the Talk’, the bands second album, was first released in 2011 and features covers from the likes of Chuck Berry, The Eagles and The Beatles as well as band originals, ‘American Beat’ and ‘The Eagle Flies on Friday’. It also comes on a new color way – Half/Half Black/White. The CD features extended sleeve notes based on interviews with Danny B. Harvey and Slim Jim Phantom.

‘Live In Berlin’ is a previously unreleased live concert which was recorded at the Huxley’s in Berlin, Germany on 18th October 2011. It was produced by the band and mastered by guitarist Danny B Harvey. The double LP comes on red vinyl while the CD features extended sleeve notes based on interviews with Danny B. Harvey and Slim Jim Phantom.

‘Dreamcatcher’ was recorded at the Dreamcatcher theatre at the Viejas Casino in Alpine CA on 1st Feb 2008. It was produced by the band and mastered by guitarist Danny B Harvey. The new CD features extended sleeve notes based on interviews with Danny B. Harvey and Slim Jim Phantom.

DYLAN SCHNEIDER’S ANTHEMIC “AIN’T MISSIN’ YOU” ARRIVES AT COUNTRY RADIO

Named by Billboard as “country music’s next rising star,” Dylan Schneider “has a viral hit on his hands” (Country Now), today delivering his TikTok-charted, anthemic break-up smash “Ain’t Missin’ You” to country radio – the second most added song behind Chris Stapleton.

Written by Schneider with Brett Tyler and producer Lalo Guzman, the sharp-witted song boasts wily lyrics and an electric hook that finds the “Artist to Watch” (Amazon Music, Pandora, Taste of Country) continuing to “expand the bounds of his artistry” (American Songwriter) and channeling the “undeniable country swagger” (Billboard) he’s known for.

Spitting some cold-hard truth to a girl’s ex-boyfriend, the feisty track instantly connected with fans across social media, racking up more than 88M TikTok views, 88k user-generated TikTok videos and 19.4M on-demand streams, before climbing to #3 on TikTok’s Country playlist and securing placement on viral-song charts.

With over 1M YouTube views, Schneider enlisted his good buddy and influencer Caden McGuire for the official music video, where McGuire portrays the ex-boyfriend who lost the girl to a better man. Watch below.

Having just wrapped shows with Tyler Hubbard and Niko Moon, Dylan will be out on the road with Kane Brown and Granger Smith throughout the remainder of the year. For tickets, visit: www.dylanschneidermusic.com.

About Dylan Schneider:

Drawn to the storytelling aspects of country music, Dylan Schneider started performing and writing songs at the age of 14, after meeting Brett Eldredge and singing with him on-stage during a concert. After that, he began posting videos to his Facebook page, where he’d cover popular Country songs, gaining a devoted online following. Since then, Schneider has made a name for himself in the Country music community, forging a sound that merges modern pop sensibilities with a down-home feel. He’s been named a “Breakthrough Artist to Watch” by Amazon Music, an “Artist to Watch” by Pandora, Taste of Country and Sounds Like Nashville and declared “Country Music’s Next Rising Star” by Billboard. He’s toured with Florida Georgia Line, Kane Brown, Morgan Wallen, Dan + Shay, Granger Smith, LANCO, Mitchell Tenpenny, Chris Lane and Niko Moon, co-wrote Dustin Lynch’s Top 5 hit song “Momma’s House,” scored two RIAA-certified Gold records, accumulated over 1M social media followers and banked an upwards of 250M on-demand streams (and counting). Signed to BBR Music Group/Wheelhouse Records, his latest five-track EP College Town truly embraced his irresistible rock-n-roll edge and unrestrained pop-country swagger. Now, after posting a snippet of his new break-up anthem “Ain’t Missin’ You” on social media, the sound went viral, racking up more than 88M TikTok views, 88k user-generated TikTok videos and 19.4M on-demand streams, before climbing to #3 on TikTok’s Country playlist and securing placement on viral-song charts. Giving into fan demand, the rising country star’s “Ain’t Missin’ You” is out now and currently climbing the country radio charts.

Silent Planet Share Video for New Single "Antimatter" — WATCH🌎

California metal band SILENT PLANET have shared the brand new song "Antimatter."

Watch it
below.

It follows last summer's one-off single "
:Signal:," which was the first taste of new music since 2020's full-length release Iridescent.

"Antimatter" documents the harrowing van accident the band was involved in last fall. It was a terrifying experience that had a lasting mental and physical impact on the band members.

"At approximately 5am on November 3, we were westbound on the I-80 through Wyoming when our driver hit a patch of black ice, causing him to lose control of our vehicle," singer Garrett Russell recounts. "Asleep in our bunks, we woke to the sound of our friend screaming as we felt the van start to tilt. We braced together as we spun off the road, van falling on its side, then sliding down a nearby embankment until we eventually flipped onto the roof. I was thrown across the vehicle and briefly knocked out, and remember waking to find my bandmates all miraculously safe inside their bunks."

He continues, "This song is an extension of this experience we shared while huddled in the wreckage together, my friends helping me to stem the bleeding of my head wound. Temporarily under the effects of a concussion, strange visual distortions began to form, inspiring many of the themes in this song: The fragility of life, the way we make sense of it all, and wondering what awaits us on the other side. While this track is part of a larger story of our upcoming concept album, this one was specifically inspired by this moment... and the moments inside of that moment when I entered that timeless space. This song is our response to the greater Silent Planet community, who donated to help us stay on the road and continues to believe in this project."

He furthers, "I went back to visit my family for the holidays and had a sobering conversation with my dad. I was telling him about the (likely) permanent hearing damage that causes a constant, inescapable, constant high-ringing in my ears. And I was scheduling an appointment to get an MRI of what turned out to be a small fracture in my frame. And my dad told me, "'Maybe you should do a cost-benefit analysis of this whole music thing,' and I think any good parent would say the same after seeing images of a wreck that could have easily taken the life of their child. My dad has this quiet intensity, and that conversation made me face a greater truth.

"The risk has always been there. So many of the 40+ tours we've embarked upon have had those 'close call' moments where you breathe a silent prayer of relief, and then another pray to forget. Because we love to do this. Because we feel that this is a dream beyond our wildest and we are so grateful. Grateful enough to allow for the risk. But in that moment where we felt the full weight and force of our lives hurdling off the I-80... there wasn't time for fear and there was no space left in our van for regret. We figured that maybe the other side of this dream had pulled into the station. It wouldn't be until we were wreckage that the guilt would set in. Unable to find one of our family... I started to feel the weight of consequence. Guilt. Terror at the thought of loss. And that's the other side of this song... knowing that things can break and accepting that it's part of the beautiful whole. I was recently asked what part of my back I fractured. 'Pars Interarticularis,' I answered.  'Hmm... never heard of that,' they remarked. And that's when it occurred to me. We usually don't notice something is there until it breaks.

"So to sum it up, I suppose this is a song about revelation as an aftermath."

Silent Planet will return to the road this September, supporting Dayseeker. All dates are below.

(July 21, 2023) – Progressive rock band The Contortionist release their recent live box set, Retrospective: Live from Atlanta, today on all digital service providers. This definitive collection features 31 tracks of live audio recordings from the band’s 2021 live-stream performances.  The 3 live streamed performances cover every facet of the band’s career, including a full album performance of the critically acclaimed full-length Clairvoyant as well as an entire set focused on the band’s heavier catalog.

About the release, guitarist Cameron Maynard, says, “When we initially conceived this project, our objective was to give something to our fans amidst the inability to physically perform to a live audience. As it turns out, we were so happy with the end result that we thought it would only be appropriate to release in a more tangible way.”

Keyboardist Eric Guenther, adds, “This is the best representation of The Contortionist to date, and to us, the recording that defines the identity of this band and how we sounded in the first 10+ years.”

Earlier this year, the band released the collection as a limited edition, physical box set and released two videos taken from the live-stream performances, for tracks “Clairvoyant,” and “Geocentric Confusion.” Watch them below.

Alkaloid collapse time (and genres) on new single

Alkaloid don't just build worlds. They concoct whole universes.

The European supergroup have written multi-part odes to cosmic Lovecraftian entities and ancient Cephalopods who rise up to rule over the future of the Earth.

Think of their new single as extreme prog. metal's answer to the Big Bang theory. "The Cambrian Explosion" compresses four billion years of multicellular evolution into mere minutes. Microbes cluster together. Ancient mycelium stir in the grooves of slimy cell walls. Pulsating stenches soar from trenches, thrust into hyper speed by blistering drum chops and colorfully infused riffs that explode like supernovas.

This song was initially written by former guitarist Danny Tunker, who left it as a sort of parting gift. It's fitting then that it started as a tribute to Alkaloid's death metal roots. But this band have never stayed put long enough to be classified as just one genre. "The Cambrian Explosion" is littered with surprises. We won't give everything away. But when the breakdowns hit, just know that you need to be prepared for anything, whether it's a flair of flamenco or a Stygian choir.

Here's what Alkaloid have to say about their new single: "Danny left us this song before he quit the band. It started as a tribute to our tech death past, but after some additional mangling by the band, the song became something we’re not sure any longer where it belongs, but which excites us all the more for it. The lyric describes four billion years of evolution of multicellular life in under four minutes. We no longer consider ourselves part of the tech death genre; in fact we never did. But we always embrace musical extravaganzas, and felt that this insane little missile of a track as a nod to both where we came from musically and to Danny’s importance in this band in the past fits perfectly in between our other new songs on the album. As luck would have it, we were able to include a passage with a gospel choir directed by Sara Robalo, and managed to include a few other spontaneous and unexpected twists in the spur of the moment. Enjoy!”

Progressive extreme metallers Alkaloid prepare to unfurl their new many-tentacled full-length, 'Numen' via Season of Mist. Featuring members of Triptykon, Obscura, Dark Fortress, and Obsidious, the Germany-based quartet of Morean (vocals, guitars, concepts), Hannes Grossmann (drums), Christian Münzner (guitars), and Linus Klausenitzer (bass) construct upon, expand away from, and journey between previous full-lengths The Malkuth Grimoire (2015) and Liquid Anatomy (2018) on Numen. In every respect, Alkaloid recommence the purposeful warp of various metallic genres they dimensionally blur. Tracks like the video single for "Clusterfuck,” “The Cambrian Explosion,” and “Numen” posit heavy cosmological/Lovecraftian theoretic themes on top of musically-adept songs that are accessible yet undeniably intricate.

“We’ve all been around the block a few times by now as metal musicians,” says songsmith Morean. “The feeling that we’ve outgrown the narrow niche of pure extreme metal was a main motivator to start this band in the first place, ten years ago. The ‘prog’ tag is handy for us because, per definition, it already encompasses a wider range of possible styles and influences we can get away with than any one specific metal genre. This means we could ensure from the beginning that we’ll always be able to write whatever we want, no matter how crazy our ideas become. The heart of this band is always the songwriting, and we all like complex and virtuosic music in all its diverse manifestations. However, we do share a love for death metal as the smallest common denominator in the band, and we wanted to make sure no one thinks that just because we include melodies, clean guitars, and influences from other genres, we’d automatically sacrifice the brutality and relentless esthetic of extreme metal.”

'Numen' was written during the pandemic, but it was planned long before the scourge of disease wracked humanity. As a result, the songwriting sessions were predictably not "in the room" but over the Internet after the band members had isolated and worked on their constituent parts. Demos flew back and forth. Then, Tunker left amicably for personal reasons. Alkaloid could’ve folded, but the close-knit group soldiered on. They intensely relied on the professionalism and dependability of the collective to drive 'Numen' to completion. The complications of the two years it took to sonically inscribe the album into aeonic vastness didn’t fragment the end result. Instead, the process accelerated Alkaloid’s lambent, eldritch explorations. “Clusterfuck,” “The Cambrian Explosion,” “Numen,” and “A Fool’s Desire” expertly bridge the past to the future, where Alkaloid’s originative, daedal storytelling captures (and holds hostage) the imagination.

The title, 'Numen', got its start at the dawning of Alkaloid. It’s a word that Morean fell in love with immediately, and he knew it had a place in his creative endeavors. Whereas The Malkuth Grimoire talked about combining existing elements into new structures, and Liquid Anatomy dealt with the creation of new elements, 'Numen' tries to look at the universe from a kind of meta-perspective from an imaginary god, as if the space that everything happens in was given a voice and a role as observer and shaper of everything that happens. In it, sentient panspermic mycelia are swathed in Lovecraftian nastiness—like Shub-Niggurath and the Fungi from Yuggoth—while the new Dyson chapters interpret the aspiration to reach divinity rather literally, reshaping the entire galaxy by manipulating spacetime itself. Desperate to escape their doom, the Cephalopods from previous songs have returned, too. 'Numen' is dense but not impenetrable. In fact, from the first moments of opener, "Qliphosis," to the final contemplation of closer "Alpha Aur,” Alkaloid prove to be more charismatic than ever.

Tony West was raised in the Bronx on Ramones, Bad Brains, and NYHC. Hearing the call of the wild west, Tony made his way to Los Angeles at 19 years old. He initially collaborated with guitarist Todd Youth (Murphy’s Law/Danzig) and Malfunkshun, which was kept active by Andy Wood’s brother Kevin Wood.

Tony took a break from L.A. to try out Memphis in 1998. While he was there, he attended the first Saliva gig with Paul Crosby on drums. This historic event marked the beginning of a lifelong friendship between Paul and Tony, ultimately leading to a management collaboration and Paul joining Blacklist Union. In addition, Tony recorded with Saliva and Jon E. Love (Love/Hate) in 2014.

Tony decided to go in his own direction in 2006. With a shamanistic blend of Stone Temple Pilots, G N’ R, Malfunkshun, and Mother Love Bone... Blacklist Union was born.

New Jersey's CR and The Nones presents 'The Long Game' and short light-hearted film, previewing second album

"Chris spins yarns like nobody else. His stories are poignant and relatable. Backing up those lyrics are waves of sonic bliss meticulously crafted" ~ The Family Reviews

"With a timbre similar to Elliot Smith and Christopher Cross, CR and The Nones has a huge and positive sound that recalls the best of 70s AM radio, as well as select output from certain 90s artists like Weezer and Better Than Ezra" ~ Amplify Music Magazine

"A unique sound that pieced together a variety of influences including punk, heartland rock, country, folk, and indie rock" ~ Tom Gallo (Look At My Records)

"This feels like a new chapter for C.R.’s song-writing, stepping out from his musical roots and shaping his sound into something entirely his own" ~ For The Rabbits

"Gennone channels Neil Young in the melancholy delivery of vocals that perfectly conveys the longing of trying to reach for the stars while knowing you may not even grab one" ~ You Don't Know Jersey

After signing to the Montclair, NJ-based
Magic Door Record Label, CR and The Nones are back with their latest single and accompanying light-spirited video for 'The Long Game', previewing their second album 'The Ghosts Are Coming Home'. The accompanying video was filmed and edited by Joe Evans III.

'The Ghosts Are Coming Home' is a culmination of the sound and aesthetic that guitarist and songwriter Chris Gennone (CR to his friends) has been building over many years and multiple bands. With an expansiveness and introspection that recalls The War on Drugs or early My Morning Jacket, the ten tracks here showcase an irresistible sincerity and heartfelt delivery.

Self-produced by Gennone, this album was mixed by renowned producer
Ray Ketchem (Guided By Voices, Luna, Versus, Elk City, Gramercy Arms) at Magic Door Recording Studio in Montclair, NJ and mastered by Nick Bolton at Bolton Sound in Jersey City.

CR Gennone came of age playing in a variety of different projects in suburban New Jersey, including his former band, CR and The Degenerates, who released five albums from 2016 to 2018. This new project has allowed him to expand the unique hybrid of folk, country, punk, and heartland rock. CR and The Nones retains the Degenerates' core of Chris Gennone, lead/slide guitarist Jim Abbott, and bassist John Dewitt.

'I wrote the lyrics for this song in the midst of a break up in the middle of Covid lockdowns and just after losing my job, so everything seemed pretty bleak. I felt defeated and was just kind of searching for something I could hold onto. My ex and I were driving down the turnpike and I was in the passenger seat watching the planes take off and all of the words came to me at once. I wrote the melody and chords pretty soon after," says CR Gennone.

"I did a lot of work on this song, first recording the drums with my friend Josh Bartsch from Pynkie and doing all of the vocals, harmonies, guitars and synths at my apartment. The original version was mixed by Jeff Zeigler in Philly, but I decided to scrap it and re-track everything with Tom Barrett on drums at Skylar’s studio in Wayne. Andrew recorded Jim’s guitar parts at his apartment and then I tracked everything else at my place."

Recalling past Garden State guitar music, Gennone’s soulful vocals and his band’s driving hooks invoke roads, journeys, and forward motion in general. Counting Neil Young and Jason Molina among major influences, his sound has always been propulsive. In 2020, CR and The Nones released their debut album
'Living In Fear' via Favorite Friend Records.

Like many artists, the pandemic and resulant huge chunks of unfilled time allowed Gennone to be more considered, thoughtful, and purposive in his songwriting for this album. Being forced out of his normal songwriting process and comfort zone opened Gennone to new influences, and his resulting growth as a songwriter is evident. While friends from the NYC and NJ music scenes contributed ideas and sounds, some influences are not as obvious. Gennone recalls listening to Brian Eno non-stop while recording 'Ghosts', and the synth sounds and ambient textures that underpin much of the album are certainly a testament to that.

'The Long Game' is out now and available from fine music platforms, including
SpotifyApple Music, and Bandcamp. 'The Ghosts Are Coming Home' album will be released on September 8 and is now available for pre-order.

NITE unsheath "The Trident"

NITE come from a long and storied line of heavy metal. The Bay Area gave birth to blistering titans like Metallica. And while the sunny climate isn't what most metalheads imagine when they visit their happy place, going to California did inspire Death to take the plunge into death metal.

"The Trident" proudly upholds that tradition. The closing song off the San Francisco supergroup's most recent album rides off into the shadows with a raised fist, pumping along to a hard-charging drum beat. But while the riff does plenty of thrashing, the solos add a gleaming edge of melodic NOWBHM.

"The power within it is far too strong," Van Labrakis snarls into the camera. The video makes it look like the band are trapped inside some top-secret government lab, but the blackened char to his voice does more than just suggest that whoever is chasing them is walking right in to their trap.

""The Trident" has become a fan favorite ever since 'Voices of the Kronian Moon' came out", says NITE. "That chorus chant has raised quite a few fists at our live shows, so we wanted to honor that with this video. Directed by our very own Scott Hoffman, we follow the time jump of the elusive time raider character, featured on the album cover and the Kronian Moon video, being tracked down and eventually losing his trident staff before he time jumps again to another world."

With Avinash Mittur (Wild Hunt) replacing founding bassist Bryan Coons in early 2021, he and drummer Patrick Crawford (Serpents of Dawn, Older Sun) make up a rhythm section that’s fierce yet breathlessly precise: a freewheel pounding reminiscent of the early days of heavy metal, with a Rickenbacker-powered roar fueling the low end. NITE’s debut full-length Darkness Silence Mirror Flame, released in March 2020 by Creator-Destructor Records, earned widespread praise. It showcased their fist-raising classic heavy metal that nearly every fan of the genre once fell in love with, but with a twisted and shadowy edge that the titans of old could never imagine. NITE is the flame of the past illuminating the darkness of tomorrow.

Founded in 2018, their blackened heavy metal  barrels towards the peril of an unknown future, while keeping one eye on the days when blistering leads once ruled the land. Guitarists Van Labrakis (Satan’s Wrath, Mencea) and Scott Hoffman (Dawnbringer, High Spirits) let loose galloping riffs and harmonies that evoke the classic sounds of the N.W.O.B.H.M., with Labrakis’ grizzled voice driving their dark, melodic metal into the modern era.

The San Francisco Bay Area has a history steeped in forward-thinking, technically dazzling metal, and NITE carries that torch with pride.

New Jersey indie outfit ELK CITY returns with powerful single 'Strong (You're Not Alone)', heralding new 'Undertow' album

"Elk City’s cool and elegant sound draws on 1980s “dream pop” and bits of 1960s folk-rock" ~ The New York Times

"Softly beaten drums and tremolo guitar guide us into the song... allows the song to ebb and flow around the gentle charm of acoustic instruments and the grit of the electric" ~ Joyzine

"This music is sophisticated – vivacious, harmonious and memorable due to many factors, not least of all is the remarkable vocal timbre and convincing delivery of vocalist Renée LoBue, recalling Eddie Brickell at times and Jefferson Airplane’s Grace Slick at others" ~ Music-News.com

"Formidable... animated, brazen and effervescent. LoBue’s commanding vocals are the icing on the cake... highly infectious" ~ The Spill Magazine

New Jersey psychedelic art-rock collective
Elk City announces that they will release their seventh album 'Undertow' on September 22. Ahead of that, they present the voluminous consciousness-building lead track 'Strong (You're Not Alone)' , a swirling neo-psychedelic folk song baked in cult obsessiveness.

Recorded, mixed and mastered by renowned producer
Ray Ketchem (Guided By Voices, Luna, Gramercy Arms), 'Undertow' will be released via Montclair, NJ-based Magic Door Record Label, co-founded by Guided by Voices' Kevin Marchwith Ketchem and artist Renée LoBue.

Like their latest
'Above the Water' LP,  this record is inspired by the band’s love of documentaries like 'The Source Family' and 'Wild, Wild Country' - films that explore the allure of cults and extreme alternative lifestyles.

It sure is tempting to join a cult. To drop whatever it is we do over and over and just plain start over, with a fresh sense of community and identity and a new way to love and live and be in this world a whole other way. Cult-life can’t be any crazier than how we’re doing it now, in this backwards, modern world in which we find ourselves. So… it could be time to X out of this celestial Zoom, peel off the athleisure wear and slap on a space tunic that says, ‘Hey, I’ve found something else, and this is my new family now and they can give me inner peace and Heaven on Earth in exchange for letting go of everything I thought I was and society expects me to be’.

Let’s do it.

This is the pull of 'Undertow', sucking you into a different kind of record from the opening title track. Peculiar pop constructs built of rare materials, found only in the wilds behind
Magic Door Recording Studio in Montclair, NJ. which legendary studio designer George Augspurger helped transform from a cavernous warehouse into a freeform studio where vintage microphones, modern studio gear, and bespoke sound tuning elevate and inspire.

This is where Elk City’s founding members, Renée LoBue and Ray Ketchem, along with Luna’s Sean Eden, Richard Baluyut (Versus) and Chris Robertson (Psychedelic Furs side project Feed, Punch Havana) have meticulously built this record and this band a whole other way. Even after seven albums, Elk City are still deliberately hard to define, still seekers, unafraid to shed this life and lead the listener on a journey to new sounds and feelings... Welcome to Elk City.

“'Strong (You’re Not Alone)' just may be the highest of heights we’ve reached as songwriting collaborators. A ‘non-single’ single, unapologetically present in its dream catcher-waving vibe. The least pop of pop songs on our upcoming Undertow LP, yet here it is, served up first: Sprawling, moody, nonsensical, captivating, and much like Rob Zombie sang: More Human than Human. Baby steps in believing in oneself. “Ooh, you never know what you’re made of till you climb the top.” Let this one guide you, heal you, inspire you, strengthen you. Hacky sacks optional. Also: It’s way cheaper than therapy," says Renee LoBue.

Ray Ketchem adds, “Strong (You’re Not Alone)” is an example, where we let the song forge our path. We observe, listen and follow where it leads, but we relinquish control in order to open the channels within ourselves".

As of July 19, 'Strong (You're Not Alone)' will be available across fine digital outlets, including
Apple MusicSpotify and Bandcamp. , where the full 'Undertow' album (out September 22) may also be pre-ordered.

Emerging Industrial Pop Artist BABYCHAOS Releases “Guilty Hands (I Bleed),” First Taste From Debut EP

The First Taste From Debut EP,

Coming Soon From Salem, Mass-Based Artist

See The Video For “Guilty Hands (I Bleed)” below

Previous Single Amassed 2 Million Streams,

Babychaos Named Metal Artist of The Year At

2022 Boston Music Awards

Babychaos lives at the intersection of haunting music and bewitching art, with the latest crossroads coming in the form of her brand-new single “Guilty Hands (I Bleed).” It’s the first taste of the emerging industrial pop artist’s debut EP, which will be released soon and shows the artist at her prime, after amassing 2 million streams for previous single “Flesh” and nabbing the honor of Metal Artist of the Year at the 2022 Boston Music Awards.

Read more about the track on Consequence who says of the song, “In the vein of contemporaries such as Poppy, Babychaos blends harsh electronics with overt industrial rock/metal elements, such as distorted guitars and vocals. … ‘Guilty Hands (I Bleed)’ melds a burgeoning guitar riff with subtle electronic flourishes, resulting in a jolting loud-soft arrangement and unsettling atmospherics.” Consequencpremiered the video as part of the outlet’s Industrial Week.

Says Babychaos of the song, “The story behind 'Guilty Hands' is one I've been clinging onto for years - and now it's finally come to fruition and is out of my system for good. Throughout 2022 I found myself constantly writing as a way to cope with occurrences in my life I couldn’t control. I've found through experience that when we feel we don’t have control over an aspect of our lives, we resort to a need to control other aspects, sometimes in unexpected and disturbing ways: That was the inspiration for this track and video. Thanks to music producer Enrico Tiberi we created the complex beast of this song taking influence from European metal, American hard rock and horror movie-worthy soundscapes. And with music video producer Joey Durango we were able to bring these visuals to life."

The gothic femme fatale, who hails from the witchiest of places, Salem, Massachusetts, has already cultivated a strong fanbase online, in particular TikTok, where her alluring image and appreciation for visuals led to a feature in Inked magazine though her recent foray into heavier music – inspired by a mix of Deftones and Evanescence – promises to turn more heads.

Babychaos is a self-taught pianist and songwriter whose style combines the harsh electronic tones and distorted guitar of industrial metal with a vocal and songwriting sensibility that aims for big pop hooks. More details on her debut EP will be released soon.

About SCAR SYMMETRY

Formed in Sweden in 2004, SCAR SYMMETRY were a unique proposition from the start. Although clearly owing a debt to the pioneering melodic death metal bands of the ‘90s, guitarist Per Nilsson and his comrades were walking their own evolutionary path. As showcased on their 2005 debut Symmetric In Design, the band were driven by fervently progressive and proudly melodic instincts, infusing their often brutal riffs and arrangements with wild, futuristic atmospherics, and sublime, emotional melodies that always hit their targets with ruthless precision.

As SCAR SYMMETRY moved forward, their music continued to evolve in tandem. They joined forces with Nuclear Blast Records for 2006’s breakthrough opus Pitch Black Progress (2006), and have since amassed an extraordinary catalogue of forward-thinking but irrevocably crushing modern metal. From the glossy, hyper-melodic barrage of Holographic Universe (2008), to the immaculate thunder of The Unseen Empire (2011) and the astonishing, cosmic odyssey that is The Singularity (Phase I - Neohumanity) (2014). the Swedes have blown minds and enhanced their reputation with every artistic step.

SCAR SYMMETRY is
Roberth Karlsson - Vocals
Lars Palmqvist - Vocals
Per Nilsson - Vocals, Guitars, Bass, Keyboards
Benjamin Ellis - Guitars

Slighter presents‘The Futile Engine’ album via Brutal Resonance and video for 'Pulling Me Under' feat. Craig Joseph Huxtable

"A deep sound design that spans subterranean dubby techno and modern bass sounds... a subtle but totally unmistakable insistence, building intensity gradually and only releasing it as the song fades back into the shadows" ~ I Die: You Die

"When you hear Slighter, the room expands. The soundscapes Allrich creates are larger than life and the production is unquestionably smooth" ~ QRO Magazine

"Slick, motorik, infectious and polished... Fans of Meat Beat Manifesto, Fluke, Future Sound of London and Leftfield should take note here" ~ Amplify Music Magazine

"A creeping sludgy sex appeal... A hungry snarling club growl for your next playlist"~ Sounds and Shadows

Alternative-electronic artist
Slighter presents his new album 'This Futile Engine', released via Brutal Resonance Records and Confusion Inc. This 13-track record features collaborations with Steven Seibold (Hate Dept) and Craig Joseph Huxtable (Ohm, Landscape Body Machine, Front Line Assembly, Noise Unit), as well as Yvette Winkler (Vaselyne), Morgue VVitch and Deep Dark Water.

Following up the intense, moody and cinematic lead single
'Have No Fear' (with traditional A-side and B-side versions), Slighter also presents an enthralling video for the latest single ‘Pulling Me Under’ feat. Craig Joseph Huxtable, with whom he had previously collaborated on earlier singles 'Give Me' and 'Lights Out', as heard on FOX’s Second Chance in 2016.

Slighter is the solo moniker of Colin C., who has been fine-tuning the future of electronic music since kickstarting his music in Mid City Los Angeles in the early 2000s. Creating from a unique vantage point, he was involved in collaborations for various Metropolis Records releases and Cleopatra Records compilations, in addition to Slighter releases via his own Confusion Inc. imprint.

Mixed and mastered at
The Cell Studio, through the sonic experimentation and innovation entailed in recording this album, Slighter continues to provide new fuel for the counterculture..

"This record was a lot of fun to make with my friends. I'm always enjoying collaborating on Slighter albums and, this time, it felt best to leave the majority of the vocal work to some great voices from Craig to Steven and Tara, Yvette, and Anastasia. It has been an experimental but cohesive experience, the classic cinematic vibes I'm known for hitting with faster Techno and killer bass lines across a 10 track narrative," says Colin C.

"I think I have a pretty unique way of working outside of genres, but my work still gives off this sort of expansive cinematic vibe, which also retaining a darker mood that gets me associated with various dark sub-culture genres. The themes I often explore has me adopting an 'Electronic Death Music' umbrella for the music I make - a play on words, with the music I make being the antithesis of popular EDM".

While very much an independent artist who largely files under the musical radar, Slighter's music has also found its way on to mainstream shows over the years, with songs and remixes featured on such television shows as Showtime's 'House Of Lies', 'Elementary' (CBS), 'Bones' and 'Lethal Weapon' (FOX), 'Defiance' and 'Covert Affairs' (NBC-Universal).

As of July 21, 'This Futile Engine' will be released across fine digital platforms, including
Apple MusicSpotify and Bandcamp. Available as a Deluxe Edition limited edition CD and as a digital download, this album includes three exclusive bonus remixes of 'Cold Black Waters (feat. Morgue VVitch)', 'Pulling Me Under' and 'Have No Fear'.
