Ovtlier Releases New Single "HEARTLESS" + Official Music Video via TLG/INgrooves

Ovtlier teamed up with SiriusXM Octane for the exclusive world premiere of their latest single "Heartless" yesterday! The single released today via TLG/INgrooves to all major platforms along with the official music video that was directed by Tom Flynn. Tom has worked with artists such as All That Remains, Body Count, 10 Years, and more.

“They say, 'hurt people, hurt people'. 'Heartless' is about 'toxic' relationships and the effects it can have on one, not just in the present but will leech on you and wreak havoc in the future. You can become so numb in the process of it all by taking the abuse, whether it be physical, mental or emotional you become that very thing you hate. After my experience of this, I shut down emotionally, even more than my childhood trauma. I would be transparent out of the gate and state how deadened I’ve become and that I did not want a relationship or anything to build upon. I refused let anyone in. I could not welcome love. It is a virus that transfers easily," says Joey Arena.

He adds, "'Heartless' is my personal favorite to date. A contender to all deep cutter tracks. A song that’s speaks to you and has you coming back for more. Packing a punch out of the gate and delivering a melody that will have you singing along by the second chorus. Sonically charged and rich with exhaustive lyrics, 'Heartless' is the song you didn’t know you needed in your life."

Honing in on a modern sound while consistently setting themselves apart from the mainstream, Ovtlier (pronounced "Outlier") prides themselves in creating exemplary rock and metal music backed by a rapidly growing fanbase. Ovtlier has earned more than 3 million views of fan-curated content on YouTube and over 3 million streamson Spotify, while capturing the hearts of tens of thousands of followers online. In addition to their loyal fan base, the band has caught attention through achieving features in major media outlets such as Revolver, Loudwire, Alternative Press, Decibel and ABC News.

Continually hitting the Billboard charts, Ovtlier has been able to spread their sound nationwide through constant spins on FM radio and months of regular rotation on SiriusXM Octane- launching them into the forefront of their genre. Ovtlier has had three singles featured on SiriusXM Octane; "Who We Are", "Buried Me Alive" and "Blame The Dead" have made fans out of satellite radio listeners across the country and emphasizes the band's ability to stay creative while maintaining an ever-growing fanbase.

Ovtlier brought 2022 to a close with "Living Dead"-bringing the band their biggest success yet. Ovtlier earned a steady average of 1.5 million streams monthly on three streaming platforms (Amazon Music, Spotify and Pandora) alone and saw "Living Dead" become the most played song on SiriusXM Octane. With "Living Dead"behind them, Ovtlier is gearing up to outdo their own personal best with their upcoming release "Heartless". The track was written by the band's lead vocalist and founder, Joey Arena, accompanied by Evan McKeever and Julian Comeau (Loveless). "Heartless" owes its production to Justin DeBlieck (Ice Nine Kills, Motionless In White) and Evan McKeever while joining its predecessor as the second single mixed by Chris Dawson (SAUL, Any Given Sin) and mastered by Mike Kalajian (Bad Omens, The Plot In You). With Ovtlier's dedication and a star-studded team of support behind them, the success of "Heartless" as the band's most-accomplished single is inevitable.

RedHook Release Scorching New Debut Album 'Postcard From A Living Hell'

Eora/Sydney-based alt-rock shapeshifters RedHook have just unleashed their long-anticipated debut album 'Postcard From A Living Hell' – produced by Stevie Knight (Stand Atlantic, Yours Truly) in collaboration with band member Craig Wilkinson, and mixed by James Paul Wisner (Underoath, Paramore). Fans can stream the album HERE.

'Postcard From A Living Hell' is eleven charismatic, hook-laden tracks forged in RedHook's particle collider of sonic influences, smashing together elements of metalcore, pop-punk, nu-metal, alt-rock, and classic metal with trap, EDM and pop. The LP is stacked with radio singles, including the femme-powered, EDM-inflected breakup anthem 'Imposter' feat. Yours Truly, saxophone-powered pop-punk self-roast 'Soju' feat. Sly Withers, and the self-produced one-two punch of diabolical emo-meets-drum and bass banger 'Low Budget Horror' and incendiary anti-misogyny manifesto 'SAY'.

Focus track 'Postcard Xo' opens the LP, taking us “down that rabbit hole” into a nightmarish hellscape of trauma and self-sabotage. Written as a letter from rock bottom where vocalist Emmy Mack ruminates on struggles with depression and intrusive thoughts of self-harm, the song is also RedHook’s boldest and wackiest musical composition to date. Watch the video below.

Speaking on the 'Postcard Xo' single release, Emmy shares:

"'Postcard Xo' is a pretty dark song, both musically and thematically. It's about finding yourself back in the familiar landscape of rock bottom after a string of preventable fuck-ups, wrestling with feelings of guilt, shame and worthlessness, and wishing the worst for yourself - because that's exactly what you feel like you deserve."

From the sucker-punching hard rock of 'The Critic', to the chaotic rap-fuelled metalcore of 'Psych Vs. Psych’, to the darker synth-pop deviance of 'An Intervention' and the heartfelt alt-rock balladry of ‘Inarticulate’ feat. The Faim, 'Postcard From A Living Hell' is a unique and expansive body of work that showcases the full spectrum of RedHook's colourful musical multiverse. Emmy's superlative bravery in the fan-resonant 'Jabberwocky' is complimented by the savagery of breakbeat rave monster 'Off With Your Head', as the album hits out against injustice and our most persuasive demons while expressing a slew of relatable ordeals that make life feel like a living hell.

Previous singles 'Imposter' feat. Yours Truly, 'Soju' feat. Sly Withers, 'SAY' and 'Jabberwocky' were all added to full rotation on triple j, and have received immense support from the likes of Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, BBC Radio 1 (UK), Kerrang! (UK) triple j Unearthed, NME, Hysteria Magazine, Kill Your Stereo, MANIACS and Wall of Sound.

WHAT THE PRESS ARE SAYING:

"Intense, poignant and raw."

NME (AUS)

"This maximal pop punk vibe sounds enormous in RedHook’s hands. Big banger!" – ★★★★★

Dave Ruby Howe – triple j Unearthed (AUS)

"RedHook at their heaviest?! And I am literally obsessed. Tapping into that power and Emmy sounds like a dark goddess. I love those 'I'm angry' attitude moments and that belter of an ending." - ★★★★½

Claire Mooney - triple j (AUS)

“RedHook continue to go from strength to strength.”

Kill Your Stereo (AUS)

"RedHook is unapologetically authentic and their fanbase loves them for it."

You Make The Scene (US)

In 2022, RedHook completed a 28-date regional Australian tour as main support for metalcore titans In Hearts Wake. They also made their celebrated return to Australia's Good Things Festival, becoming the first band ever to grace the lineup twice, going from Eora/Sydney openers in 2018 to national Stage 5 headliners in 2022. The band also made their critically acclaimed debuts at Australia's Groovin the Moo and UNIFY Gathering festivals, and two of the biggest heavy music festivals on the planet, Germany's Rock am Ring and Rock im Park; a feat few Australian bands can claim.

ABOUT REDHOOK

RedHook are a fiercely independent, shapeshifting alt-rock foursome from Sydney, Australia who’ve quickly accumulated a global fanbase and tens of millions of streams through their powerful songwriting and captivating live show.

Featuring the core creative duo of Emmy Mack and Craig Wilkinson, two strangers from regional New South Wales whose paths collided after moving to Sydney in 2017, RedHook combine with young gun drummer Alex Powys and seasoned bassist Ned Jankovic to create heartfelt, attitude-filled and relatable alternative rock music that consistently defies classification.

The strength of their debut single ‘Minute On Fire’ in 2018 was enough to attract the interest of one of the lead promoters of the UK’s iconic Download Festival, who swiftly invited RedHook over to play. The band were then snapped up by The Hen House Artist Management (worldwide) and inked booking deals with New World Artists (AUS) and Wasserman (UK/EU), going on to conquer some of Australia’s biggest music festival stages (Download, Good Things, Stonefest, BIGSOUND). They also completed their debut international tour (supporting metal titans Three Days Grace across the UK & Europe), launched their own gender diversity-inspired alternative festival in Sydney, 'UsFest', and undertook four complete Australian tours (selling outthe Melbourne and Sydney legs of their own debut headline tour).

As RedHook’s global fan base grew steadily with each single release and live show, many big things followed. The band were named triple j Unearthed feature artist, Kerrang! Radio feature artist and were invited to host the ABC’s iconic rage program. They’ve consistently featured as one of the top 50 most-played artists on triple j Unearthed every year since 2019.

2021 saw RedHook release their long-awaited debut EP ‘Bad Decisions’ which has ticked over 13 million Spotify streamsand had its two lead singles added to rotation on triple j. The record earned praise from Kerrang! (UK), Rock Sound (UK), Rolling Stone (AUS) and many more, even scooping a 2022 AIR Independent Music Awards nomination for best punk EP or album.

RedHook continued their steady rise across 2022 with their debut performances at Australia’s UNIFY Gathering, Groovin’ The Moo and boutique festival Rolling Sets, as well as playing one of the world’s most iconic rock festivals Rock AM Ring/Rock im Park in Germany alongside the likes of Green Day and Muse, accompanied by a second tour of Europe supporting The Faim.

Their own headline ‘Bring Ya Mates’ tour was also a huge success with multiple sold out shows around Australia as it emerged from the COVID-19 pandemic. This was followed by a mammoth 28-date, two-month-long regional Australian tour as main support for metalcore titans In Hearts Wake and a triumphant return the Good Things festival stage alongside Bring Me The Horizon and Deftones, where RedHook made history as the first band to grace the lineup twice.

In May 2022, RedHook returned with ‘Jabberwocky’ their most gut-wrenching single to date, which was immediately added to triple j high rotation and added to the cover of Spotify’s popular ‘All New Rock’ Playlist. Follow-up singles ‘SAY’ and ‘Soju’ Ft. Sly Withers have both since been added to full rotation on triple j.

These singles will feature on RedHook’s long-anticipated debut album, Postcard From A Living Hell, which is due to arrive on April 21st, 2023. The band will support the release with a monster Australian tour joining international grunge icons The Smashing Pumpkins at the debut of their travelling The World Is A Vampire Festival throughout April, before embarking on their own 11-date Australian headline tour in May.

Today, the band has shared the video for the title track, featuring Phem. Watch it below

The title track is "a song about the way which you can't travel through life without dragging the ghosts of your past behind you, and how they manifest in their various forms," shares Birch.

Future Palace Share "Malphas" Video — WATCH

We know demons as legendary creatures — but sometimes, they seem more real to us than we would like them to be.

With their new single "Malphas," Berlin-based, post-hardcore shooting stars Future Palace combine mythological symbolism with the very real abysses of an earthly emotional world.

Watch the "Malphas" video below.

Even the introductory staccato riffing announces with the darkest timbres the most harrowing three minutes the band has recorded by far. While Future Palace have repeatedly written with hitherto unknown heaviness on their second album Run, which was released in 2022, "Malphas" completed this development in a superlative way.

The music and the brute screams of singer Maria Lessing create a trembling sound drama that can hardly be described satisfactorily with the label "post-hardcore", but is ensnared by clanking synthesizer coldness as well as industrial and darkwave elements.

"I'm really losing my patience / I'm possessed by a Malphas," says the chorus, which sums up a feeling of loss of control in a few words. The sung and eponymous Malphas is a demon figure from centuries-old tales that appears in the form of a raven and takes its victims bit by bit, like a virus. With this image, Future Palace tell the battles that do not take place in stories, but in the real life.

"With its power, our new song 'Malphas' is intended to represent the recurring struggle and the necessary patience with oneself and one's inner demons," comments Lessing, giving the song a note of hope despite all the brute force of the sound. Because even among productions that are increasingly shocking in terms of sound, Future Palace's music can still be understood as a musical catharsis in which inner abysses can not only be experienced, but also fought.

"Malphas" is the first single Future Palace have released since Run. The band recently accompanied Electric Callboy on their European tour. Their first European headline run with 23 stops in nine countries has been announced for the fall, and first shows are sold out or upgraded.

FUTURE PALACE ARE:
Maria — Vocals
Manuel — Guitar
Johannes - Drums

IMMORTAL - Release New Single 'Wargod'

With 'Wargod', the pioneers of Norwegian black metal, IMMORTAL, deliver a new single leading up to the release of their impatiently awaited 10th studio album War Against All, due to be released on May 26th via Nuclear Blast Records. The band’s 10th studio album will feature 8 new songs in the classic IMMORTAL style.

Watch the Lyric Video for 'Wargod' below.

Pre-Order War Against All here:
https://immortal.bfan.link/waalp.ema

The band ́s founder Demonaz stated about the second single 'Wargod':
"'Wargod' is the heaviest song on the album. I thought it was about time to give the fans a track in the «Tyrants» again. Celtic Frost's album To Mega Therion from 1986 was an inspiration to me this time. Some of it’s classic tracks had heavy opening riffs that developed into fast devastating fury and tempo. I wanted to capture that feeling again, the Immortal way. When I moved to the mountains in 2019. I went through some of my old material and unused lyrics. 'Wargod' was one of them. The title, lyric, and song ideas were originally from the early nineties, and now finally Immortalized on the album."

About IMMORTAL:
IMMORTAL, from the Norwegian town Bergen, established themselves as one of the most important black metal bands in the world. Formed by Demonaz (guitars) and Abbath (bass/vocals) in 1990, the band released their first three albums, Diabolical Fullmoon MysticismPure Holocaust, and Battles In The North during the years 1992-1995. The very first records established and defined the musical style the band became infamous for.

The band then released the Blizzard Beasts album in 1997. Shortly after, Demonaz was diagnosed with a shoulder injury. He still continued to work with the band but stopped playing guitar live. Abbath changed from bass to guitar, and the band continued with different bass players over the years, releasing the albums At The Heart Of Winter(1999), Damned In Black (2000), and Sons Of Northern Darkness (2002).

In 2003 the band was put on ice, but returned to the stage in 2007 and did several headline appearances and tours across Australia, New Zealand, and the USA. All Shall Fall was released in 2009, followed by further massive festival shows and additional concerts worldwide.

In 2015, IMMORTAL and ex-singer/guitarist Abbath went their separate ways.

In 2018, IMMORTAL returned with Demonaz performing on guitar once again, and as the band´s vocalist, releasing its 9th studio album, Northern Chaos Gods, which was very well received by both fans and the press.

Come 2023, IMMORTAL sees Demonaz releasing War Against All,the band´s 10th studio album. The record has been composed and performed by Demonaz, featuring some session members, like in earlier recordings. The album was produced by Arve Isdal, and recorded at Conclave & Earshot Studio in Bergen, Norway by Herbrand Larsen and Arve Isdal. The album was mastered by Iver Sandøy at Solslottet.

THE BELLWETHER SYNDICATE present glamorous post-punk treasure-trove on ‘Vestige & Vigil' LP. Watch the video for ‘Golden Age’

"Goth Rock Tornado... hair-raising speed, riff-racing insanity and badass drum/bass force... William Faith‘s edged Goth-infused vocals rumble all over this super-duper sucker-punch steamroller" ~ Turn Up The Volume

"Anything but conventional... the band is one of the most unique dissonant sounds in the scene" ~ Outburn Magazine

“Words so relevant to the time we are living in... Superb... The Bellwether Syndicate is full of brilliant surprises” ~ The Spill Magazine

“The time seems right for a new wave of post-punk to be ushered in... The Bellwether Syndicate is leading the charge” ~ Big Takeover Magazine

"A glittery piece of glamorous darkness...with William Faith’s crooning vocals and Sarah Rose smoothly cascading guitars” ~ Post-Punk.com

Alternative post-punk outfit The Bellwether Syndicate present their greatly anticipated 'Vestige & Vigil' album, released on April 28 via Sett Records in North America and elsewhere via Nexilis Records /  Schubert Music Europe. It arrives nine years after debuting with 'The Night Watch' EP.

Six years in the making, 'Vestige & Vigil' is truly a distillation of life in the modern age, made timeless by the deep truths conveyed in the work, whether by word or by note. This is a hard-hitting album for those who hear the call.

Produced by William Faith, whose credits include Jarboe, Clan of Xymox, Bootblacks and Autumn, and Chad Blinman (Face To Face, Faith and The Muse, Jarboe), Faith recorded this music at 13 Studio in Chicago, which Blinman then mixed at The Eye Socket.

'Vestige & Vigil' offers a view of the world from two perspectives: Vestige (a celebration of what remains) and Vigil (an acknowledgement of what’s been lost).

Ahead of this, the band presents the album's final single 'Golden Age'. With its ethereal atmosphere and haunted vocals, 'Golden Age' warns of getting lost in nostalgia at the cost of the time that remains, yielding an unforgettable shimmering chorus that stays with you. Directed by William Faith, the video was created by Sarah Rose Faith, Kristen Chiacchia, Hani von Gehenna and William Faith with images by Bobby Talamine, Kristen Chiacchia and James Currie.

Based in Chicago, The Bellwether Syndicate is William Faith (vox, guitars), Sarah Rose Faith (vox, guitars), Philly Peroxide (keyboards, percussion), Stevyn Grey (drums) and Corey Gorey (guitars). Formerly of seminal goth acts Christian Death, Mephisto Walz and Shadow Project and co-founder of Faith & The Muse, William Faith moved from his native LA to Chicago in 2010, forming The Bellwether Syndicate with Sarah Rose Faith a.k.a. Scary Lady Sarah, one of the scene’s most eminent DJs and club promoters and host of Nocturna, the longest-running goth event in North America.

"Golden Age' is a rare gift in that I received nearly the entire song in a dream… The beat, the guitar and bass melody, and the chorus lyric were all just there in my head when I woke up and, without saying a word to Sarah, I ran down to the studio to capture it before I lost it," explains William Faith.

"It has a haunting quality which felt very nostalgic to me, so the lyric is really about the danger of getting lost in nostalgia and losing the present as a result. This is a conversation we have a lot, as so many people seem to stop looking ahead, content to rummage through the past. I’ve always said that tomorrow is way more interesting to me than yesterday, so this song warns about getting stuck there. As for the chorus, it’s anyone’s guess what it means, as it’s all a dream!"

The band earlier released the singles 'We All Rise' (a tale of hope and struggle, of inner-courage and rage for what could be), 'Beacons' (its ‘set adrift’ narrative supported by liquid, chorused guitars and distress-signal bass and synth) and the glam-noir lead track 'Dystopian Mirror'.

'Golden Age' is out now. As of April 28, the 'Vestige & Vigil' album will be availabie from all fine digital outlets, including Apple Music and Spotifyand also directly from the artist via Bandcamp.

TSJUDER Unleashes New Single, "Iron Beast"

Norwegian black metal legend TSJUDER is now unleashing a ferocious new single, "Iron Beast," which is taken from the band's forthcoming album, 'Helvegr!' The song can be found along with a ferocious visualizer below.

TSJUDER comments: "This is 'Iron Beast.' Death to all!"

The album will be released on various physical formats, such as cd digipack and coloured vinyl, but also limited edition clamshell box (cd) and LTD vinyl box. These limited editions come with a bonus album 'Scandinavian Black Metal Attack,' in which TSJUDER pays a special ode to Bathory.

'Helvegr' is due on June 23, 2023 via Season of Mist. Pre-orders are now available HERE while the album can be pre-saved HERE.

Since their inception in 1993, Oslo’s TSJUDER have been responsible for some of the most hate-filled ferocity perpetrated under the banner of TRUE NORWEGIAN BLACK METAL.

The band’s unholy fire was initially lit when founding members NAG (vocals/bass), BERSERK (guitar) and DRAUGLUIN (guitar) grew weary of playing death metal and sought out engorged levels of extremity to sate their increasingly profane ambitions. The time was ripe to inaugurate a ceaseless campaign committed to an uncompromising strain of brutally raw black metal, influenced by the primal thrash blasts of Sodom, Kreator, Destruction, Sarcófago and early Sepultura; black metal first wave trailblazers such as Bathory and Hellhammer; and, most vitally, Mayhem’s seminal Deathcrush, and Darkthrone’s game-changer, A Blaze in the Northern Sky.

Assuming the TSJUDER name, a moniker plundered from a mythical, murderous Northern tribe, various embryonic line-ups gathered around the all-conquering core of Nag and Draugluin, laying the fearsome foundations for what was to follow with two demos – Ved Ferdens Ende and Possessed – recorded between 1995-96. But it was with 1997’s EP, Throne of the Goat, that the black metal underground really began to sit up and take notice, the release establishing TSJUDER’s reputation as a blasphemous bulldozer hellbent on crushing the insipid and nostalgic in relentless blizzards of sub-zero riffage, punitive blast beats and blood-curdling screams.

Recordings for an inaugural full-length in 1999 were lost to a computer virus, but from the scavenged remnants of these sessions would emerge the Atum Nocturnem demo, an obnoxious foretaste of the group’s debut album, Kill For Satan, an international breakthrough slathered in slime-encrusted sacrilege. That damnable release saw the aptly-named ANTI-CHRISTIAN open his TSJUDER account, the drummer blasting a succession of gateways though the underworld, pulverising a punitive march to the band’s malevolent maelstroms.

Demonic Possession (2002) and Desert Northern Hell (2004) sustained the band’s focus on death, devils and destruction, while ratcheting up the production levels on a barbaric brace of flesh-strippers conjuring a landscape of frost-bitten wastes and foul abyssal realms. With the music press busy dishing out plaudits, the band’s burgeoning confederacy of fanatics were becoming desperate for some TSJUDER live action. Heeding the clarion, the band embarked on a full European tour with fellow countrymen Carpathian Forest. They also recorded a pair of gloriously powerful live performances in 2005, in Norway, which would subsequently be documented on the group’s NorwegianApocalypse DVD.

TSJUDER would take a deserved hiatus in 2006, with members finding other musical outlets for their creativity; Nag launching heretical black metal outfit KRYPT; Draugluin and Anti-Christian doing time with the thrashier TYRANN.

But it wouldn’t be long before the irresistible call of TSJUDER would exert itself once more. The band reconvened, reenergised and eager to make up for lost time, returning to live performances in 2010 before finally unleashing the mighty Legion Helvete (2011), a typically uncompromising comeback interspersed with pronounced Motörhead influences on punkish hyper-blasters such as ‘Slakt.'

It would be another four years before TSJUDER issued the merciless Antiliv(2015), a snarling lycanthropic howl of a record, heavy-loaded with vindictive black’n’roll swagger and lashings of buzzsaw guitar.

TSJUDER quickly set about creating the follow-up to Antiliv, but musical differences and protracted disputes led to a parting of the ways, with Anti-Christian bowing out after an impressive 20-year tenure with the group. Undaunted, Nag and Draughluin enlisted doyen tub-thumper JON RICE to provide the requisite drum artillery and continued to work on new recordings – fine-tuning guitar tones and sharpening mixes.

Then COVID-19 struck, the pandemic further stymieing the album’s release as the world tumbled from its fragile axis. But humanity is now benignly settling into its most chronic phase of perpetual abnormality and TSJUDER are steeled again to hoist their inverted cross above the barricades of conciliation. Their latest opus, Helvegr, is a devastatingly savage offering, one which fully adheres to the band’s eternal credo of “NO FUCKING COMPROMISE."

Grove Street Sign With UNFD + Watch "Lessons of the "Past Video"

INTRODUCING GROVE STREET!

BAND SIGNS TO UNFD + SHARES VIDEO FOR SIGNING ANNOUNCEMENT

UNFD are pleased to announce the signing of GROVE STREET to the label.

"Grove Street becoming a part of UNFD felt like it was meant to happen," says guitarist Sandy. "A label that fully believes in us and wants to nurture our growth as a band is a rare thing to be seen. This band started out as fun between friends, we never had any expectations of reaching the levels we have, and with UNFD behind us, we can push those levels even further."

Watch the signing announcement video here.

Hailing from Southampton, Grove Street blend elements of hardcore and thrash that gives a heavy nod to the sound of late '80s and early '90s crossover. The band have garnered a reputation as a must-see live act, having already toured with legendary bands such as Agnostic Front and Sick of It All, as well as making major festival appearances at the likes of Download and Boomtown. Their signing to UNFD marks a new chapter for the band as they take a step on a new path, with their debut LP coming soon!

With new music around the corner, please get yourselves acquainted with Grove Street via recent single "Lessons of the Past."

Speaking of the track, the band shares, "'Lessons of the Past' focuses on police brutality, abuse of power, systemic oppression, and racism. People not taking a stand against these things only encourages them to manifest further, and we as people must do better to hold those in power accountable."

GROVE STREET IS:
Sully — Vocals
Sandy — Guitar
Andy Harper — Guitar
Joe Paine — Bass

Sleep Token Share "DYWTYLM" Video — WATCH // Fall 2023 Headline Tour Completely Sold Out In Two Days♡

THIRD STUDIO ALBUM, TAKE ME BACK TO EDEN, SET FOR RELEASE ON MAY 19 VIA SPINEFARM

ALL 2023 HEADLINE SHOWS ACROSS AUSTRALIA, U.S., + GERMANY ARE SOLD OUT

19 SUMMER FESTIVAL APPEARANCES CONFIRMED ACROSS EUROPE + THE UK

Sleep Token have today released new single "DYWTYLM." Offering something entirely different from what we've heard thus far, you can watch the official video below.

With fan worship more intense than ever, and worldwide interest and intrigue growing at runaway speed, studio album No. 3, Take Me Back To Eden, will be released on May 19 via Spinefarm.

Take Me Back To Eden (an hour-plus of music across 12 distinctive tracks) is Part 3 of a trilogy, a spectacular chapter-closer in the ongoing Sleep Token saga — a saga that kicked off in earnest with debut album, Sundowning (2019).

Eden features probably the heaviest moments thus far recorded by Sleep Token (i.e. "Vore" and "The Summoning"), along with some of the most immediate and certainly the most emotional (i.e. "Aqua Regia" and "DYWTYLM"), with a slew of other tones, textures, and tangents touched on in-between.

TMBTE sees Sleep Token boldly re-confirming a true love of the epic (the title track is eight minutes plus), whilst further exploring and developing those elements that keep the music removed from any kind of pack, howling at a moon that's all its own.

Pre-orders are now available across various formats, including four stunning limited vinyl pressings, exclusive cassettes and other merch items such as t-shirts, long-sleeves, and hoodies.

Meanwhile, available album tracks, "Chokehold," "The Summoning," "Aqua Regia," "Granite," and "Vore" have collectively amassed over 85 million streams, whilst standout single "The Summoning" has generated some 38.8 million streams alone, causing the track to trend on Twitter and take the #1 song spot on a host of international Spotify viral charts, as well as being selected as a "YouTube Trending Artist On The Rise," featuring on YouTube's homepage, viewed by millions of people every day.

The unprecedented accolades keep rolling in, between the fact that ST has never played a headline show in the UK that didn't sell out, "Aqua Regia" picking up consistent airplay on the Radio One "Future Sounds" show hosted by Clara Amfo, plus huge pop star Demi Lovato sharing Sleep Token's music with her 153 million Instagram followers, Sleep Token consistently smash boundaries that they refused to acknowledge in the first place.

And even though Sleep Token notoriously do not speak to the press (out of necessity, not ego or gimmick), media can't help but write about the phenomenon, reporting on the band's every move; NME note, "Sleep Token offer their fans an entire world to immerse themselves in if they so wish. It's a place of escapism, and the foundation of a huge fan community that's dedicated to studying the band's creativity. While they have the same fervor as any other fandom, there's still a notable difference." Elsewhere, Metal Hammer called them "the most exciting band in metal right now."

As such, Sleep Token's entire upcoming Australian and U..S tours, in addition to a one-off headliner in Germany, are completely sold-out. U.S tour dates are below.

SLEEP TOKEN ON TOUR:

Prog Rock Trio BLACK ORCHID EMPIRE Shares Lyric Video for "Scarlet Haze"

Progressive rock trio BLACK ORCHID EMPIRE is now sharing a new lyric video for the song "Scarlet Haze," which is taken from the band's latest album, 'Tempus Veritas!' The clip can be found below.

Speaking about "Scarlet Haze," Paul Visser says: "We've always loved filthy riffs and heavy songs, but huge, melodic tracks have a vital place in our sonic landscape; 'Scarlet Haze' is one of those. We can't wait to hear you screaming the chorus back to us at a live show. We're so excited for people to hear 'Tempus Veritas' and explore the new musical worlds which we've had such a great time crafting.

"Lyrically this song is written from the point of view of the first human in space - Yuri Gagarin. In his final moments aboard the test flight on which he would ultimately lose his life, he contemplates the stars above him - realizing he will never reach them again."

'Tempus Veritas' was released on April 14, 2023 and can be streamed, ordered, and downloaded HERE.

BLACK ORCHID EMPIRE create huge, memorable rock music that combines heavy-hitting savagery with intense melodic beauty. Their technical, fearlessly complex grooves and gigantic sing-along choruses have already earned them a widespread fanbase.

A ferociously tight live band, BLACK ORCHID EMPIRE have toured Europe and the UK extensively, supporting Skunk Anansie, HED p.e, INME and Black Map as well as festival slots at Download, Standon Calling and Planet Rockstock. Black Orchid Empire have sealed the bands reputation as a force to be reckoned with.

Having released their debut album ‘Archetype’ (2016) to universal acclaim, BLACK ORCHID EMPIRE signed with German label Long Branch Records to release the follow up albums ‘Yugen’ (2018) and ‘Semaphore’ (2020). Both albums received stellar reviews and over 3,000,000+ combined streams.

“Tempus Veritas” is a collection of stories that seeks to find compelling imaginary narratives hidden away in what we all think of as history.  Behind every milestone or major event in humanity’s long, complex past lies a treasure trove of possibilities for invention - how did Pope Urban VIII feel when confronted by his friend Galileo about the true nature of the sun?  What really happened during an almost triumphant but ultimately doomed Everest attempt? What was it like to be a Norse settler amongst the Saxons; did the omens of the ancient gods begin to disappear?

In approaching “Tempus Veritas”, BLACK ORCHID EMPIRE sought collectively to push themselves both musically and thematically. Their pursuit of heaviness, melody, emotional power and rhythmic complexity has pushed them to create something they‘re immensely proud of. “Semaphore” was an album of Sci-Fi, this is an album of Hi-Fi. Tempus Veritas.

Phil Firetog Trio & Co. Release Cruel (Live at Vudu Studio)

It is with great pleasure that we announce the release of our latest video, "Cruel," a stunning live studio session recorded at Vudu Studios. This song is a powerful testament to the process of moving on from a toxic relationship and finding solace in the acceptance phase.

The opening line, "Well, I'm not angry anymore," sets the stage for the remainder of the song, which delves into the feeling of exhaustion and detachment that often comes from being neglected for an extended period. The lyrics are profound and universally relatable, and the raw emotion of the performance is palpable.

We are honored to share this video with you and trust that it will resonate with you on a deeply personal level. Please follow the link below to watch the video and let us know your thoughts.

THE NOISE WHO RUNS release beguiling and anthemic 'Preteretrospective' album, newest output from Ian Pickering (Sneaker Pimps / Front Line Assembly)

"Ian Pickering is among the most relevant songwriters of this generation, with topical subject matter, sharp lyricism, a relatable attitude and music that is addictive as F*&@. The same spunk that the progenitors of punk and orderly chaos of early post-punk is made of" ~ The Spill Magazine

"Beguiling... anthemic yet accessible, gothic, grand and graceful, delicately dance-driven and dark, coiled and ornate, slow and seductive" ~ Big Takeover Magazine

"A poetic brutality in the lyrics that reflects our current climes with clinical precision... the anthemic grace and stature of something by The Sisters of Mercy: it has an Arctic chill through which a lyrical, passionate heat radiates" ~ Backseat Mafia

"The cult of popular personality that follows deceptive and narrow-minded fame campaigns, the act of putting the dimmest star on the highest plinth has a new detractor" ~ Sound Read Six

"Rhythms stroll and guitars weave melodic webs within that ethereal electronic intimation. Light and dark entangle... Struck a chord in an instant but it is over time that its true splendour and prowess emerged and our pleasure and fascination escalated" ~ Ringmaster Review

UK-France duo The Noise Who Runs present their ‘Preteretrospective’ album, a 14-track offering sprung from the mind of Ian Pickering (of Sneaker Pimps and Front Line Assembly). Featuring songs from their first two EPs - curated and set in a more far-reaching context - along with six new, previously unreleased tracks.

Ian Pickering (co-author of such hits as 'Spin Spin Sugar', '6 Underground' and 'Tesko Suicide') wrote this material simultaneously to material for the latest Sneaker Pimps album. Formed four years ago upon relocating from Hartlepool, England to Lille, France, The Noise Who Runs is now a duo with Brazilian-French guitarist Felipe Goes.

A literal translation of ‘O bruit qui cour’, a French phrase meaning ‘gossip’, The Noise Who Runs was also the name of Pickering’s favourite restaurant, where the ideas for this project fell into place.

The Noise Who Runs' is rooted in the shared principles and approach to making music of punk/new wave and early hip-hop - both the mentality and the message. This brand of indie-electronic rock is heavily shaped by the 1970's experimental electronic scene in Sheffield, the 1990's guitar-house mix of the Manchester scene, Primal Scream's guitar-electronic sound after 1997’s 'Vanishing Point', and 2000’s XTRMNTR.

Earlier, the duo released lead tracks 'Beautiful Perhaps' and the highly cynical 'Takes a Long Cold Look and Then The Kitchen Sink' - the illegitimate child of solo album-era Syd Barrett and post-Talking Heads David Byrne and '2poor2die', which is at once, a celebration of ordinary bravery in the face of the daily grind of routine and a condemnation of the eternal ideology that sees working people as disposable.

TNWR drifts effortlessly between analogue and digital, from instrument to instrument and between genres, the duo ultimately achieving a blend of abrasive beauty from electric guitars and electronica.

The electronic, looped simplicity of ‘Off the Rails’ is followed by the pandemic-inspired songs 'Things Fall Apart', 'Electronic Babysitter' and the wonderfully bizarre groove of 'Somewhere Between Dogs and Wolves', inspired by Ted Hughes’ poem ‘The dogs are eating your mother’.

'So Good It’s Free' and 'Zoe’s Edible Garden' deliver among the most direct and obvious lyrics on the album, addressing the growing inequality in society and the struggle of what Pickering describes as the unheard and unseen decent people without voices and increasingly without hope, barely considered worth considering.

The utopian optimism of 'So It Goes' to the bleak but beautiful view of ‘New York to L.A. in 2-and-a-half Minutes' led to 'Under the Sun', a campfire song with balearic beats that recounts the aftermath of the revolution that should be coming and finally 'L’altruisme', a strangely disconcerting slice of electronic weirdness.

As of April 21, the 'Preteretrospective’ album is available across digital music platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp, where this and other releases can e obtained directly from the artist.

ABOUT GOZU:
This is Gozu's world, we're just living in it. Given that it has been five years since the Boston quartet dropped the monstrous Equilibrium, returning with Remedy is one hell of a way to make sure that everyone — whether previously familiar with them or otherwise — realizes that they are perhaps the most badass of American rock bands, for they have taken everything to the next level.

"There is a certain maturity mixed with a childlike enthusiasm to play music, and we all are better players now than on Equilibrium," says vocalist/guitarist Marc Gaffney. "We have all really tried to look at what we enjoy but more what we do not enjoy. Playing music is a gift and when it becomes A Nightmare on Elm St Part 37.3, you are done." The result is nine tracks of their signature combination of fuzzy, '70s-inspired riffs, rich, catchy, grunge-esque vocal melodies and a touch of old school trippy psychedelia written and played with the utmost passion and enthusiasm, eclipsing everything else in their catalogue. "The band wanted a very heavy groove-oriented album with singalong choruses. We also wanted sonically to hit you in the chest, like a three-combination, left-right-left, like Micky Ward. Harmonies and melodies were something we really looked at and wanted to shine, and thick guitar tones, driving bass and drums were under the microscope."

One element that gave the band a kick in the pants going into Remedy was drummer Seth Botos joining Gaffney, guitarist Doug Sherman and bassist Joe Grotto. "Seth brings such an impeccable work ethic and freshness to the band that it was infectious. He is the breath of delicious fresh air the three old men needed. He reminds us of a young Kevin Bacon/Wayne Rooney." Auditioning drummers ate up some of the time elapsed between records but like for so many bands the biggest obstacle was COVID, which slowed down the whole process.

Recording with honorary fifth member of Gozu, producer/engineer Dean Baltulonis (Death Ray Vision, The Hope Conspiracy) at Wild Arctic studios in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, sessions were unlike any that the band had previously experienced. Botos laid his drums down in just a day-and-a-half, taking all suggestions his bandmates had and putting his signature spin on them, echoing the fact that they were all invested in the process more than ever before.

The band obviously hopes to tour the record after so long off the road, and they would love the opportunity to share the stage with bands they admire. When asked what other unfulfilled goals they have at this juncture, Gaffney answers without hesitation: "To always improve, write better, play better, enjoy everything that we are offered and take advantage of it. I feel we are always setting goals for ourselves so we are not stagnant or believe we can’t do more. The goal should always be to have fun, kill it and let the music set people free. The minute we stop setting goals and challenges for ourselves is the minute we have failed."

MISCREANCE Shares Mind-Bending Song, "No Empathy"

Old school technical death metal revivalists MISCREANCE will be reissuing their debut album, 'Convergence,' via Season of Mist on May 19, 2023! The album was originally self-released by the Italian newcomers in in September 2022. The band is now offering another taste of their debut record; listen to "No Empathy" below.

MISCREANCE comments: "The song's about losing any kind of emotion ever felt, and while trying to change this chosen path, to start feeling something again, that sensation of emptiness grows more and more, letting you feel no joy, no sorrow and... No Empathy."

'Convergence' will be re-released on three different colored vinyl as well as CD formats. The record is now available for pre-order HERE while you can stream it across all digital platforms HERE.

Though many have tried, few bands have successfully replicated the mind-bending technical death metal formula that was established during the genre’s advent by the Godfathers of DEATH. That is until Italy’s Miscreance entered the ring in 2022 with its debut full-length, ‘Convergence.’ Unlike tech death contemporaries who are known for speed and extremity, Miscreance artistry lies within its carefully executed precision, underscoring the focused discipline behind the music’s eloquent complexities.

Miscreance is a project reborn from the ashes of Atomic Massacre. As the former band's members decided to change the course of their stylistic direction, they felt it was time for a rebirth, changing the name as well. In 2018, the band released its first demo, 'From Awareness to Creation,' which was originally co-produced by Red Wine Rites records in Switzerland and limited strictly to 100 copies.

Shortly after the demo release, the band ceased their search for a singer upon realizing that drummer Andrea F. was exactly what they were looking for, so they exhumed three songs from the pre-demo era and recorded a split with death metal grind-crushers Vile Apparition (AUS), released in late 2021.

In 2022, Miscreance made its debut with its first full-length, ‘Convergence,’ which took almost five years to complete. The offering quickly garnered the attention of Season of Mist, who formed a union with the emerging band and is now reissuing the full-length for worldwide distribution as the old school tech death revivalists prepare to unleash a sophomore offering onto the masses.

VOYAGER Shares Metal Cover of Andrew Lambrou’s "Break a Broken Heart"

As Perth’s fearless, riff-laden, genre-bending band VOYAGER gets ready to conquer the world stage at the 67th Eurovision Song Contest, the band is now sharing a metal cover of "Break a Broken Heart." The song is the current Eurovision song entry from Cyprus' representative Andrew Lambrou. VOYAGER's heavy version of the song can be found below.

VOYAGER comments on the cover, "We had such a wonderful time meeting Andrew Lambrou at Eurovision: Australia Decides in 2022, and were surprised to find he had one of the biggest metal playlists you've ever seen! So, covering his banger of an entry for Cyprus in the Eurovision Song Contest this year, 'Break a Broken Heart,' just felt like a natural fit. Can't wait rock out in Liverpool mate!”

Representing Australia in this year's Eurovision Song Contest, VOYAGER is entering promised land with their new progressive synth-metal anthem “Promise!" In addition to the cover song, VOYAGER shredders Simone Dow and Scott Kay are now sharing a guitar play-through for the track, which you can find HERE.

The opening line of Voyager’s 2023 Eurovision song "Promise" is somewhat prophetic. As vocalist Danny Estrin belts out the lyric, “Have you ever done anything like this before?” audiences across the globe will realize they haven’t. For the first time ever, a band will represent the country – and not just any band – a band with soaring melodies, masterful riffs, keytar solos, powerhouse rhythms, and enough charisma to take on the world.

Shattering expectations, their resilience and determination has finally paid off. Theirs is a story of passion, perseverance, and patience. The band has been throwing their hat in the ring for the Eurovision Song Contest since Australia announced its participation back in 2015. Eight years later, they have prospered, overcome, and are now victorious. Voyager are a band who take everything in their stride, over the years garnering a strong fanbase near and far, continuing to vie for their Eurovision dream. At last year’s Eurovision – Australia Decides, they took out second place in a nail-biting finish, leading the public vote with their song "Dreamer."

Now, Voyager are about to set sail Merseyside with their song "Promise;" an epic, progressive pop metal track that transports the listener on an emotive story of adventure and redemption. Its stunning music video was captured in the region of Western Australia’s mid-west Kalbarri that boasts the pink ethereal Hutt Lagoon, and Kalbarri National Park, where there are epic gorges and rock formations including Nature’s Window.

Blending New Romantic, ‘80s infused vocals with technical, melodic framework, groovy basslines, bombastic drums, and what is fast becoming the band’s signature instrument, the keytar, it’s sure to lift the roof off Pier Head, Liverpool. They have toured the world many times over, with an influx of fans on their latest European tour won over by their electric live performances.

Voyager will soon embark on their eighth album cycle, but before they can begin their next chapter, they must first take on the epic battle they have long been fighting for.

Ukraine’s Kalush Orchestra won the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest in Turin, Italy, with their song Stefania. This year, the United Kingdom will host the competition on Ukraine’s behalf with the theme United by Music. This is the ninth time the United Kingdom will host Eurovision and the fifth time it’s hosted for other countries due to financial or capacity issues.

SBS’s exclusive coverage will once again be in the capable hands of music buff Myf Warhurst and comedian Joel Creasey. This year marks 40 years of SBS broadcasting the Eurovision Song Contest to all Australians, and the eighth year Australia has participated in the event.

'Another Kiss' from postpunk-new romantic outfit Candy Coffins journeys through life's quickening timeline

"Lush instrumentation and sombre storytelling. Their gothic post-punk vortex engulfs you. Poignant vocal melodies swoon amongst soft guitars and expansive synths to craft a song that will continue wandering the sonic corridors of your mind" ~ The Record Stache

"A passionately powerful collection that, while steeped in pop nostalgia, is loaded with resonant melodies and an overall denser shimmer...channels the best from 1980s music in modern compositions that are entirely appealing for the here and now" ~ The Spill Magazine

"The band at their considerable best, walking a fine-tuned line between darkness and the silver-lining of new romanticism. Haunting with loads of energy... nervous, edgy vocal delivery" ~ Amplify Music Magazine

"An enthralling and fascinating listen with their sonic imagery, emotional turbulence and new romantic underpinnings"
~ Skylight Webzine

South Carolina-based postpunk outfit Candy Coffins presents 'Another Kiss', the latest offering from their 'Once Do It With Feeling' album. With Cure-esque textures and melody, thematic elements and the visceral delivery of The Afghan Whigs, this 10-track collection showcases their best work to date, chronicling a relationship from the onset of the first crack to its complete crumbling dissolution.

Songwriter-singer Jame Lathren takes a deeply introspective turn on the treatment for the video, culling through literally thousands of photographs to present both the beauty and the sobering timeline of life. While the video appears to be very personal, it is one with which all of us can closely identify. Just as with life - the pivotal moments are captured, and the longer it goes on, the faster the pace seems.

“I love all the songs on the album, obviously - they’re my babies, but 'Another Kiss' is so special to me. I love the dynamics of the song and the brevity of, yet how impactful, the lyrics. But truly I love this song so much because the band, along with producer/engineer John Furr, were able to create what was in my head so closely - the sonic juxtaposition of the prelude to and the actual event of losing control. And many times that’s what artists are chasing, whether it be film, physical art mediums, or music - it’s that vision in your head. That’s what I am always chasing and this song gets there," says James Lathren.

“Ever since this song was written, I have envisioned a video that presents life on a timeline with the pressing urgency that comes with time seeming to move faster as one ages, as we all experience. I was elated (and a little surprised) that I was able to get that vision pulled off so succinctly, yet eloquently, in my opinion.”

Mixed by David Barbe (Drive-By Truckers, Superchunk, Deerhunter) at Chase Park Transduction (Athens, Georgia), the 'Once Do It With Feeling' album was produced and engineered by John Furr (E.Z. Shakes, Flippants) at Pow Pow Sound (Columbia, South Carolina).

'Another Kiss' follows the short film for 'Tangled Up In Teacups', the third act crescendo of a relationship in a tailspin with an urban ballerina-themed video produced and directed by The Pierson CollectiveEarlier, the band previewed lead singles 'Every Day A Fresh Atrocity' and 'Seaside Girls'.

Vocalist, guitarist and songwriter Jame Lathren formed Candy Coffins in 2018 in Columbia, South Carolina. A cultural outcast, his resilience, sensitivity and hyper-awareness of his emotional state would ultimately permeate his own music, getting right to the heart of the emotions surrounding the human condition.

After disbanding his band Crown The Cake, he formed Candy Coffins with hometown guitar legend Tom Alewine (Bachelors of Art), followed by seasoned bassist Alex Mabrey, keyboardist Justin Purdy and drummer Jonathan Bradley (Iron & Wine). With dynamic and textured approach, the band's trademark lush sound bolsters Lathren’s emotive songwriting and delivery.

With tasteful nods to Joy Division, The Cure, The Psychedelic Furs, The Afghan Whigs and The Cult, as well as The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Spiritualized, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and Interpol, Candy Coffins’ sound is dark and emotionally restless, but with elements of hope and elation. Defiantly unique, their sound is a welcome respite from musical mediocrity.

The 'Once Do It With Feeling' LP is out now and is available everywhere digitally, including Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp, where it can be ordered directly from the artist. Candy Coffins will be playing a series of shows this spring-summer - find more information and tickets.
