OAK Shares New Song + Music Video, Reveals New Album Details

Portuguese death doom duo OAK will be releasing its sophomore effort, 'Disintegrate,' via Season of Mist on February 10, 2023, making it the band's debut to the label! The album artwork, tracklisting, and info can be found below!

In conjunction with the forthcoming full-length, OAK is now sharing the first part of the 45-minute long offering, "Disintegrate I," along with a performance music video! The clip, which was directed by Guilherme Henriques, can be seen below.

OAK comments: "Before managing to free himself from the unbearable weight carried on his back for an eternity, this giant knelt down and surrendered his own body to be consumed by the sun.

"Afterwards, there was only the cold that accompanied him on his passage to the immaterial world. This excerpt is about that passage and also aims at a transition from sound to image, so that this moment becomes as visual as it is audible."

Pre-sales for 'Disintegrate are now live HERE while the album can be pre-saved on streaming services HERE.

With the birth of their first full-length album ‘Lone’ in 2019, atmospheric death doom duo OAK emerged from Portugal with a slow and steady force, like roots breaking concrete. After four years of slumber, the band has awakened like the old gods, ready to release utter suffering and devastation onto the masses with its sophomore effort, ‘Disintegrate.’ For nearly 45 unforgiving minutes, this mournful maelstrom drags the listener asunder, while tormented growls and agonizing riffs echo deep despair within the atmospheric abyss.

OAK’s path was forged by two kindred musicians; the mysterious pair recognized that they were an unstoppable force together when it came to creating painful, emotionally driven music. “We always wanted it to be a duo because of how fluid our jams have always been and this freedom we get when writing for OAK is really one thing that drives us,” explains the band.

The writing process took place under the cover of darkness, setting an intimate mood for the record’s creation. The pair worked with a totally clean slate, writing everything organically in their sessions together rather than coming with prepared compositions or ideas. As project took shape and began to come into its own identity, it yielded OAK’s agonizing and ferocious sound.  “We can have clean guitars, clean vocals, distortion, deep grunts, whispers, slow beats, blast beats, ghost notes and all this glues together nicely,” says OAK of the project’s many textures and layers.

Thematically, ‘Disintegrate’ tells the epic tale of a Titanic Giant who seeks to be unburdened from carrying the weight of the world, demonstrating that even the strongest have a threshold for just how much pain and heaviness they can endure.

However, the story doesn’t end here as this is only the first chapter of the Giant’s tale. “We are continuing our jam sessions and writing more and more. We will grow further with each release in the attempt of making our sound almost visible/cinematic. We need to tell the story of this giant's burden and liberation through our music and lyrics. We feel like there is much more to be told.“

Punk Polka Ska Masters RUSSKAJA Announce New Album, 'Turbo Polka Party', out February 3, 2023

First Single and Video “No Borders”

by the Ukrainian and Russian Rooted Band

Sets Strong Sign for Peace

Watch NOW!

Fusing metal, punk, ska and polka, RUSSKAJA call for peace with their most heavy-hitting album yet!

Stand up, couch potatoes - it’s time to get moving! High voltage party polka virtuosos RUSSKAJA provide the most danceable heavy album of early 2023 with 'Turbo Polka Party', out February 3 via Napalm Records!

Hailing from Austria but wearing their Ukrainian and Russian heritages on their sleeves, RUSSKAJA present their hardest-hitting studio album to date, once again mixing elements of metal, punk, ska and polka to create an addictive mixture you can’t help but move to.

Today, the band has released the new album’s first single, No Borders, alongside an animated official music video. Although they are one of the most entertaining bands in rock, RUSSKAJA have never strayed away from clear political statements. The band, known for utilizing Soviet imagery as a nod to their cultural background, sends a clear sign against war - calling for peace and humanity on 'Turbo Polka Party'.

This message is particularly emphasized on "No Borders - reflective of the cries for peace RUSSKAJA stated in the wake of the Ukrainian/Russian tensions flaring earlier this year:

“No borders, no wars

We‘re equal, all the same

No nations, no fighting

Just stop this game”

Guitarist/songwriter/producer Engel Mayr about “No Borders”:

“Besides the incredibly important message of the song, we’re also really happy we did another video with the great Juppi Juppsen again, who has done some of our greatest visuals like “Energia” & “El Pueblo Unido” in the past!”

Watch the Music Video for “No Borders”

The band also produced a special No Borders shirt - 100 % of proceeds earned from the sale will be donated to the charity organization "Volkshilfe" and will benefit Ukrainian refugees. The shirt is available together with the Special Edition autograph card No Borders signed from all band members and can be bought on the RUSSKAJA website.

RUSSKAJA undoubtedly master the tightrope act between clear message and entertainment. With Russki Style, they show themselves on well-tread paths, while Shapka hits a multi-faceted color scheme of polka, ska and classic 90s nu metal.

But a party can't happen without friends. Micha Rhein from In Extremo finds a place on the wistful Olga von der Wolga, while Skindred singer Benji Webbe supports the rousing reggae metal single Vozdukh and Hamburg dance act Le Fly convinces with exotic groove on the German-Spanish song "Senales". Even the Wham hit “Last Christmas is not safe from RUSSKAJA.

DEKO ENTERTAINMENT PRESENTS THE 2TRAX SESSIONS, A VERY HONEST SNEAK PEEK INTO THE CREATIVE MUSICAL PROCESS

FIRST STOP IS "COLUMBIA” (AVENUE) FEATURING MEMBERS OF TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA AND ANGEL.

Some of the best music comes when accomplished musicians combine their talents in an effort to create something new and different. At Deko’s 2Trax Studio that is exactly what is happening. Starting December 2, 2022, a new song featuring a combination of Deko artists and special guests will be released under the title the 2Trax Sessions. Those sessions will continue with a new song released at six - eight week intervals. Each song will have a story or narrative, and the creative process will be shared with the audience through a variety of interviews, videos, and social media interactions. Get personal perspectives from each musician as they describe how they approached their contribution and how they feel about the collective result.

View BTS video here:

First up, a song named “Columbia” is a shout-out to a blue-collar street in New Jersey. For each artist involved, we find out it reminds them of their own small pieces of Americana. Columbia Avenue is a place many of us can relate to, and as the song says, it’s often too short a road. Featuring the combined talents of vocalist Joe Cerisano (Trans-Siberian Orchestra), backing vocalist Lisa Gee (independent artist), guitarist Frank Perrego (2Trax Sessions musician), keyboardist Charlie Calv (Angel), drummer Billy Orrico (Angel), bassist Eric Plotkin (2Trax Sessions musician), percussionist Julian Calv (professional busker), and songwriter/guitarist/keyboardist Bruce Pucciarello, “Columbia” is a great example of a simple song that grew exponentially by giving free rein to talented people’s creativity. Cerisano’s powerful lead vocal and Gee’s moody vocal support create a texture. Charlie Calv’s intricate production, the keyboards, the guitars, the percussion, Plotkin’s bass, and Orrico’s exceptional drum lines combine to launch the 2Trax Sessions with a first offering that sets a very high bar for what’s to come.

Listen here: https://ada.lnk.to/Columbia

Former Trans-Siberian Orchestra vocalist Cerisano states, “I fell in love with the song “Columbia” the moment Bruce [Pucciarello] played it for me. It was the words that got to me first, then the music, all within about 30 seconds. Then instantly I found myself imagining how I would sing it. That was it. I was hooked! It all has to do with feeling and what moves you. It moves me.” Deko president and 2Trax Studio owner Bruce Pucciarello continues, “In general, the 2Trax Sessions are special to Deko, because it represents community, cooperation, and putting artists in a position to succeed.” To commemorate “Columbia”’s release, the guys enlisted Ace Bouchard and his video camera to take you on a trip down Columbia Avenue.

ELECTRIC MOB DROP VIDEO FOR "LOVE CAGE"

ELECTRIC MOB DROP VIDEO FOR "LOVE CAGE"

NEW '2 MAKE U CRY & DANCE' OUT JANUARY 27, 2023

Frontiers Music Srl will release the sophomore album from rock n’ roll juggernauts ELECTRIC MOB, '2 Make U Cry & Dance', on January 27, 2023.

Today the band released another video from the album for the song "Love Cage."

These talented Brazilians stormed on the scene in 2020 with the release of their electrifying (no pun intended) debut album 'Discharge', wowing listeners with their modern take on classic bluesy hard rock executed with heartfelt, soulful musicianship and absolutely monstrous vocals.

The follow-up sees the band’s songwriting and musicianship taking a HUGE leap forward. Truly, an all killer, no filler affair, "2 Make U Cry & Dance" is proof positive that high-quality rock 'n roll does not adhere to any geographical borders.

And for those wondering, the album title is a reference to certain lyrics on the album being reflections on the hard times we go through in life while the music is simultaneously high energy and meant to raise the spirits and make you.... well, dance.

Formed in Curitiba, Brazil by Renan Zonta (vocals), Ben Hur Auwarter (guitar), Yuri Elero (bass), and André Leister (drums), Electric Mob caught the attention of Frontiers with their tremendous hard rock songs that show the influence of contemporary hard rock giants while also showing a knowledge of the hard rock pillars of the '70s and '80s.

Electric Mob is comprised of four young, hungry, and extremely talented musicians, with the rock 'n roll attitude to deliver their explosive performances. Like a sonic punch to the face, their songs are a mixture of powerful vocals, mean guitar riffs, and heavy groove with influences from the ‘70s, ‘80s, and ‘90s. There is no doubt that Electric Mob is leading the charge to put Brazil on the rock ‘n roll map.

NE OBLIVISCARIS Unveils First New Song in Over 5 Years from Forthcoming Album, 'Exul'

Progressive metal outfit NE OBLIVISCARIS will be releasing their long-awaited new full-length, 'Exul,' on March 24, 2023! The band is now sharing the haunting new single, "Equus," along with a music video! The video was directed and produced by NE OBLIVISCARIS vocalist Xenoyr and can be seen below.

Regarding the video's powerful yet somber message, the band explains,
"'Equus' is dedicated to the lives lost during the lethal bush fires that scarred Australia in 2019-2020. Alongside the people who died or were affected, many millions, if not billions, of animals were killed or displaced from their natural habitats, the enormity of this is something that will never be forgotten, and should not be ignored. It is also a warning that the world we live in is changing from the damage we as a species have contributed to. Within this video, the dancer represents a scorched Mother Earth, from horror to humanity, ever in tune with the heart and flow of the song (and world), and ultimately aware of the inevitable and ever growing destructive cycle we are in."

Drum tracking for Exul, the fourth long-player from Australian extreme progressive metallers NE OBLIVISCARIS, started in March 2020. There is an ominous tone to that date: March 2020. The pandemic demarcation line. That month, Daniel Presland laid down his drums in Nashville, Tennessee, with American producer Mark Lewis. As flight cancellations increased and borders shuttered, Presland made it home literally hours before Australia closed theirs. Lewis, guitarist Benjamin Baret and bassist Martino Garattoni weren’t as lucky. They were due to land in Australia in the days that followed to continue tracking, but were forced to remain overeseas indefinitely. With recording studios shuttered throughout Melbourne, a slow, tedious, life-altering two-year grind to complete Exul ensued for NE OBLIVISCARIS.

What should have been the continued upward swing after 2017’s critically acclaimed Urn turned into the most fraught moment of NE OBLIVISCARIS’s career. Clean vocalist and violinist Tim Charles says the period “came close to breaking us completely.” It was a time filled with death, relationships breaking down, despair and financial loss. Presland, NE OBLIVISCARIS’s drummer since 2005, amicably parted ways in early 2022, throwing yet another wrench into the band’s plans.

There are, however, happy accidents scattered throughout the creation of Exul. The extra, unexpected downtime allowed the band to fine-tune and even re-write parts previously set in stone before the pandemic. Charles’s violin solo at the end of “Graal” is a prime example: His original idea wasn’t fully realized until he revisited the song in early 2021 and promptly came up with a new part. It was a classic “a-ha” moment that improved the song.

“Getting an opportunity to have a song mostly done for a year or so and then go back to it, find what you loved about it the first time and maybe even improve it in some ways was a nice silver lining from all the delays,” says Charles. “I think because we had so many delays that were out of our control, we were even more determined to take our time to make sure when the time came to record and to mix, that we ensured it was the absolute best it could be in every way.”

Seven additional studios and three more countries later, Exul was finally mixed and mastered in July 2022.

The album personifies NE OBLIVISCARIS’s distinctive, boundary-pushing ethos. The band’s trademark blend of emotion and beauty is as towering as ever, if not even more compelling, particularly how Charles’s violin lines carefully weave their way around Baret and fellow guitarist Matt Klavins’ riffing. The duality of Charles’s clean vocals and Xenoyr’s growls remains the narrative anchor, elevating songs that emanate sophistication and are a masterclass in composition.

“Our approach is always the same,” says Charles, “which is essentially to just write and see what comes out. Exul definitely had its challenges during the songwriting process. Part of the beauty of how our music comes together is that we are quite different individuals bringing an array of ideas together. From there, we work out how to combine them into something that is seamless and beautiful to us. We were determined to make this our best and most complete album yet, which definitely resulted in it taking longer. But we are so proud of this album and it’s exciting to finally share it with the world.”

The album’s centerpiece is the two-part “Misericorde I – As the Flesh Fails” and “Misericorde – Anatomy of Quiescence.” (A NE OBLIVISCARIS album is not complete without a multi-part epic!) According to Charles, Part II began by taking a song they thought was finished (Pt I) and asking, “What if after that…?” The band then wrote a section that took the piece in a new direction and what was a 7 minute song, became an almost 17 minute 2 part epic.

“The bulk of Part I was written more so by Benji and Martino,” notes Charles. “You can hear the very guitar-driven approach present throughout that track. Part II, by contrast, was written more so by myself in collaboration with others and the emphasis changes more towards expansive solos and slow-developing sections that build towards the epic finale. These two tracks are a great example of how it’s the combination of our different strengths as songwriters spread across an album that results in the sound that is 'NE OBLIVISCARIS'.”

Charles’s violin parts, whether on “Misericorde II,” “Equus” or “Suspyre,” exude confidence. The instrument has always been central to the band’s sound. On Exul, Charles’s violin playing is taken to another level. “I think that over the years, in regards to how my violin interacts within NeO’s music, I’ve simply continued to add more strings to my bow, so to speak,” he says. “With ‘Exul,’ I definitely explored even further the use of layers of violin and viola parts to create a more textured feel compared to other albums. ‘Mesericorde II’ was definitely a bit of a breakthrough song for me, where I felt I could utilize the strings in a way that hadn’t been done in NeO’s music before. In the end, whatever serves the song best is always the aim and having more ways of creating music makes it easier to serve the song.”

The Exul album title came to Xen when he was summing up the album’s feeling musically and lyrically. Coincidentally, it matched the experience of most people during the pandemic and the Russian invasion of Ukraine. “I think everyone at some point has felt at odds with the world around them, felt alone, cast out, or misunderstood,” says Xen. “Exul felt right to use in a broader sense and as a lone word, for we each have our own history and a story of exile.

“Overall, there’s a darker core to this album, perhaps more ominous than previous releases,” he continues. “However abstract the lyrics are, they involve some form of unwanted departure — all journeys into torment, passion, longing and even despair. They touch on the process of physical and psychological destruction that comes from that sense or reality of being exiled, whether forced from one’s land, ostracised from a community, shunned by a religion, or even simply being treated differently for being who they are.”

Touring will factor heavily into NE OBLIVISCARIS’s 2023 plans. The band will embark on headlining tours worldwide that will hit new territories. As luck would have it, the return to live show activity will coincide with the release of Exul and the band’s 20th anniversary. As one of Australia’s leading extreme metal exports, there is a distinct sense of gratitude from Charles and his bandmates. They’re looking forward to sharing it with fans when they resume touring.

“Simply getting the opportunity to perform music that we’ve written on stages around the world to people that genuinely love and connect with it,” finishes Charles when talking about NE OBLIVISCARIS’s 20-year journey. “There is something incredibly special about the energy that exists between an artist and audience at a concert and it’s an honor to get the opportunity to spend 2023 connecting with people in that way once more.”

IMPERIUM DEKADENZ Present Gloomy New Single “November Monument” + Official Video

New Studio Album,

'Into Sorrow Evermore',

out January 20, 2023 via Napalm Records

Pre-Order NOW!

From the depths of southwestern Germany’s Black Forest, IMPERIUM DEKADENZgathered their strengths from the dark to create their remarkable atmospheric black metal sounds. 'Into Sorrow Evermore', the new album from this sinister unit, will be unleashed on January 20, 2023 via Napalm Records!

Keeping up with the sorrowful reality of existence, the duo addresses themes of depression, death and desperation. With eight new tracks, IMPERIUM DEKADENZ stick to their haunting roots and conquer the upper echelons of the black metal world.

Like the current dreary season, the band captures gloomy feelings in the second single, November Monument. Along with an official music video, it is the picture-perfect illustration for their relentlessly honest words. Steady drums and emotionally charged guitar lines merge with omniscient whispers and angry growls.

Since breaking the scene with their critically acclaimed debut, '...und die Welt ward kalt und leer' in 2006, the band has developed their own ambient sound with a strong emphasis on melodic structuring and raw tunes that are influenced by the second wave of Norwegian black metal without losing its unique trademarks.

IMPERIUM DEKADENZ on November Monument:

November is a monument to death and darkness and yet it also represents the beginning of a new cycle. Travel with us into the dark wings of melancholy and through this season, full of reflection and relinquishment.”

Watch the Official Video for November Monument

On their new album, IMPERIUM DEKADENZ continue their unique journey with dark, ambient sounds, luring the listener into suffocating spheres of black metal. Opener and title track “Into Sorrow Evermore” starts off with classic tremolo-picked black metal guitars and hard-hitting drums, building a gloomy atmosphere with the thrilling sound of vocalist Horaz spurring the album’s immersion.

Truth under Stars” lures with pummeling blast beats accompanied by tragic guitar melodies as deep growls complement them to envelop the signature grim mood of the band. Aurora showcases melancholic pianos, accompanied by trudging drums as icy guitars swoon with a distorted but lush melody, building up to a serene guitar solo that cries its sorrows to the sky.

The influence of various metal genres can be witnessed in songs like “Elysian Fields” and “Awakened Beyond Dreams”, while in between, “Forest in Gale” ensures characteristic style devices in mid-tempo speed, inducing a shift before delivering drama and dynamics.

IMPERIUM DEKADENZ closes the album with “Memories … a Raging River”, rightly encompassing all vicious vibes of the album into one final song. The album’s flow mimics life itself, beginning with high energy that slowly fades into melancholy as it lives on.

IMPERIUM DEKADENZ state:

“In the dark and cold season, in a world that threatens to sink into its rising shadows, our new album ‘Into Sorrow Evermore’ rises from the fog of uncertainty. Melancholic, powerful, poignant, a reflection of the isolation and upheaval of recent years, but also a shadowy dream of what may come. Once again, we are happy to share our world and fill hearts. Into the darkness we strive, guided by our dreams, driven by the relentless time!”

WHO ON EARTH continue to live by their "Rock's Not Dead" creed, and are back with a new music video for “The Price”! The latest single from the New Jersey rockers (off their debut album, 'Blame') is a hard-driving song, replete with its tasty intro and foot-stomping verses, ultimately setting the table for the powerful chorus delivered by the booming vocals of lead singer Coosh. The track breaks into a musical interlude of thundering war drums, flare-launching guitar shrills, and a solo that narrates the pain of paying the price for “sins of the past.”

Stream "The Price" Here: https://found.ee/theprice

Bassist Pete Rizzi explains, “The Price is a reminder that our actions have consequences, and the past has a way of catching up with us. You can run but you can’t hide.  We can sit idly by or put things off, but eventually, we have to face the music - whether that’s individually or as a society. Who will step up and do something before it’s too late?”

Coosh adds, “This is a no-holds-bar song that immediately grabs you by the shirt and screams in your face 'YOU’VE GOT TO LISTEN TO ME!' Haha. You can whistle past the graveyard for only so long before reality introduces itself, the consequences of our actions, or inaction…the bill comes due!”

The video however was more tailored to the Aileen Wuornos case."

'The Wonders Still Awaiting' marks the first record presenting new vocalist Ambre Vourvahis, Robert Klawonn (guitars), Tim Schwarz (bass) and Dimitrios Gatsios(drums). Presenting 13 songs in total, XANDRIA's sound emerges harder, darker and more epic than ever before, but holds an intimate setting and range of emotions at the same time. Rich in different styles and genres, the massive album resembles that of a blockbuster movie score at each and every turn - sending its listener on an exciting journey to experience a world of sound never heard before in the universe of XANDRIA.

This is further brought to life by a 40-piece classical choir, authentic Celtic instruments performed by renowned musicians, and delicate violin and cello contributions from SUBWAY TO SALLY's Ally Storch. The new record is topped by the Bulgarian National Radio Children’s Choir, which marks the first collaboration of this kind in the band's history, while none other than Lukas Knöbl is responsible for the orchestrations - known for working with Hollywood greats like Roland Emmerich, for example. Each song’s colossal soundscapes and cinematic nature create a story that rapidly unfolds in the listener's imagination.

XANDRIA on 'The Wonders Still Awaiting':

"'The Wonders Still Awaiting' is very diverse and includes many different influences. We had a lot of things - little musical dreams - in our minds and hearts that we wanted to realize, and along with what you already heard in the first two new songs this is just one of them. There will be quite some more surprises coming..."

The impressive vocal wealth of Ambre Vourvahis - ranging from rock grit, operatic highs and even death metal growls - opens the unit’s sound to a wider palette of colors. Songs like the opening epic “Two Worlds”, The Wonders Still Awaiting and Ghostsmanifest the thematic mood of the album while constructing incredible soundscapes of pure symphonic metal. Two Worlds also sets the record's lyrical concept, dealing with questions of what kind of world we are living in; one in which people deal sensibly with each other and treat it respectfully, or a dystopia dominated by autocrats and controlling technology?

Paradise” showcases some of the album’s strongest hooks, captivating with great metallic pop melodies. The veil of various influences is lifted once more in “Illusion Is Their Name”, dashing all deception with heavy power metal vibes. Tracks like “Your Stories I'll Remember” and “Scars” show the intimate side of XANDRIA on one hand, while combining rhythmic heaviness on the other. The latter is reminiscent of a James Bond theme, dressed in a heavy musical soundscape.

The epic nine minute album closer Astéria, featuring Greek lyrics written by Ambre Vourvahis, lands as the album’s exclamation point, proving with a grand finish that the five-piece has fearlessly started a revolution in the symphonic metal genre - commencing an impressive new era of XANDRIA with 'The Wonders Still Awaiting'.

'The Wonders Still Awaiting' will be available in the following formats:

=> 1CD Jewelcase

=> 2CD Mediabook

=> 2LP Gatefold BLUE/BLACK MARBLED

BLACK MARKET KARMA team with RUARI MEEHAN on ‘Aping Flair', previewing 'Friends In Noise' LP

UK artist Black Market Karma and Ruari Meehan (Belakiss, Tess Parks & Anton Newcombe) present 'Aping Flair', the second single from the band's eleventh full-length album 'Friends In Noise'. An international collaboration rooted in friendship and spontaneity, the record will be released in mid-January via London boutique label Flower Power Records.

Hailing from London and now residing on the South coast of England, Black Market Karma revolves around songwriter Stanley Belton. Last month, he released the first single 'The Sky Was All Diseased', with iconic vocalist Tess Parks.

Ruari Meehan plays with Tess Parks' band and contributed to her album with Anton Newcombe. He is also known as vocalist and guitarist of Belakiss, formed with Tatia Starkey (granddaughter of Ringo Starr). Apart from touring with Kasabian, they saw huge success in Japan, reaching number 1 in the international airplay chart with their hit ‘Only You’ and charting high in the official Japanese charts for several releases. Ruari is also a professional photographer and the son of Tony Meehan, drummer for iconic 60's band The Shadows and a producer).

"The very first incarnation of this song came to life during a somewhat inebriated jam between Ruari Meehan and myself at my old studio. I threw a mic up quickly in the middle of the room just to capture the general essence of it for future reference. We were amped about the tune but life happened and for whatever reason it got shelved. I stumbled across it again years later and a vocal melody and lyrics came to me, real easy. It felt right so I got in touch with Ruari, he came to my studio and we got it down," says Stanley Belton.

"As for the lyrics, you know those kind of people who enter a room, switch on their clout radar, scan for fame and then proceed to charm that person as hard as they can to further their career, while simultaneously dismissing anyone who they think doesn't need to be bothered with? They're about those kind of people".

Black Market Karma offers a colourful carousel of jingle jangle and distorted wobble. With broader flavours of psychedelia, fuzzed out tones and thumping grooves, their thick and colourful sound is shaped by the use of a lot of vintage equipment. Rooted in 60's guitar and pop music, other influences include folk, blues, lo-fi electronica, alt pop and soul.

Technically nine years in the making, 'Friends In Noise' is a series of collaborations between Black Market Karma and friends. Apart from Tess Parks, this album also involves The Underground Youth, Les Big Byrd / Joakim Ahlund, The Confederate Dead and Ruari Meehan. More recently, Stan has also been collaborating with Pete Kember (a.k.a. Sonic Boom) of Spacemen 3 fame on a forthcoming release.

Earlier this year, the band released the ‘Aped Flair & Hijacked Ideas' LP, a loaded 11-track offering with a fluid texture of beach-soaked instrumentation. Themes ranging from the sycophantic circles that leach from the arts, desperately attempts to stay spiritually close to a distant love, Japanese folklore, and the deep connection between man and beast.

As of December 6, 'Aping Flair' will be available everywhere digitally, including Apple Music, Spotify and Bandcamp. The full 'Friends In Noise' album (out January 13) can be ordered on 180-gram coloured vinyl from the label, as can their latest 'Aped Flair & Hijacked Ideas' LP.

FANS OF THE DARK

Announce New EP "Cover Me"

Digital EP Out December 9, 2022

New Single & Video for "In For The Count" Out Today!

On the heels of their second album 'Suburbia', FANS OF THE DARK have announced the release of a new covers EP, 'Cover Me' on December 9, 2022.

The band covers tracks by Balance, Blue Öyster Cult, REO Speedwagon, and Rush, all of whom have been an influence on the band's style.

A single and video for the Balance cover, "In For The Count" is out today.

As with 'Suburbia', drummer/songwriter Freddie Allen and vocalist Alex Falk are once again joined by guitarist Oscar Bromvall and new bassist Rickard Gramfors for the 'Cover Me' EP.

The quartet's musical prowess displayed on that album is perfectly suited to tackle the four artists and tracks on this EP. The songs were also picked specifically for having connections to the overall theme of the band's second album: the world where the band grew up and where they first got in touch with hard rock music, horror films on VHS, 80's teen culture, and all else that shaped them - the suburbs. And also because, quite simply, the band loves the songs.

Like 'Suburbia', 'Cover Me' was produced and mixed by multi-talented musician and producer Lars Fredrik Swahn (Dungen, The Amazing) and co-produced by Allen.

FANS OF THE DARK is an exciting new band formed in the summer of 2020 by Freddie Allen, drummer and main songwriter, and lead vocalist Alex Falk. The pair went to high school together in Stockholm and after a few years reconnected recently with a vision to create a band which would mix the melodies and approach of classic and melodic rock with elements of the great metal music of the '80s.

Their musical output over the course of their first two albums is one of the most exciting things you'll hear emerging from the fruitful melodic rock in Sweden, showcasing a tight, inventive musical approach with outstanding vocals.

FANS OF THE DARK are:

Alex Falk - vocals

Oscar Bromvall - guitars

Rickard Gramfors - bass

Freddie Allen - drums

PHIL FIRETOG TRIO & CO. RINGS IN THE HOLIDAY WITH "LONG ISLAND CHRISTMAS EVE"

Alternative acoustic rock musicians, Phil Firetog Trio & Co., has released their merry and bright new single, “Long Island Christmas Eve.” Blending comforting acoustics, a cheerful beat, and personal, storytelling lyricism, the track has listeners reminiscing on their own family’s holiday traditions. "Long Island Christmas Eve" is available now on all streaming platforms.

Establishing a traditional festive sound from the get-go, “Long Island Christmas Eve” sets the mood with beautiful acoustics and bright, cheerful orchestration. Soft, harmonic background vocals complement lead vocalist Phil Firetog in his nostalgic ode to reuniting with long-distance friends and family for the holiday. Confirming this vision, Firetog sings, “And no matter the distance, we couldn’t miss this; let's keep our tradition of a very merry Long Island Christmas Eve.” Continuing to articulate his relationship with Christmas Eve through his lyricism, Firetog captures the heartstrings of listeners by inviting them to relate and reminisce on their own individual relationships with the holiday. “‘Long Island Christmas Eve’ is a festive and nostalgic reminder of the friendships we all have, keeping in touch with those who may have moved far away,” exclaimed Firetog. “This song is based on my own personal tradition of a Christmas Eve dinner, meeting up with friends who may live out of town, but return home for the holidays.”

“Long Island Christmas Eve” instills jubilance and nostalgia in listeners as they paint their own picture of what the holiday looks like for them.

German Gothic Rock Band MONO INC. Release New Single "At the End of the Rainbow"

MONO INC. Release New Single "At the End of the Rainbow"

New Album 'Ravenblack' Out January 27 - PRE-ORDER

Germany's biggest Gothic Rock band, MONO INC., have released the fifth single from their upcoming twelfth studio album! Fans can check out the new track, titled "At the End of the Rainbow", along with a lyric video (see below). The band's new full-length effort, 'Ravenblack' (pre-save), will see a January 27, 2023 release via NoCut Entertainment.

'Ravenblack' succeeds MONO INC.'s most recent album, 2020's 'The Book of Fire', which reached #1 on the German Music Charts!

MONO INC. Bio (Ravenblack):

MONO INC. emerged from the ashes of several band projects, from the frustration of being forced in unwanted directions by major record companies, and from ardent desire to make uncompromising music.

In 2000 Martin Engler (drummer, songwriter and producer), Carl Fornia (guitar) and Miky Mono (vocals) relaunched their previous band project as Mono Inc. From 1995 to 1997 the three had already played together in the band Wild Thing and then from 1998 to 2003, initially as a trio under the name Mono69, they went in search of their own special sound. In 2003 Manuel Antoni joined as bass player, completing the quartet, which is why the Monos call 2003 their founding year. Independently, they produced their debut album “Head Under Water” and submitted it to all major labels. They were rejected consistently. Since the band was unwilling to compromise its style for a coveted record deal, they decided in 2004 to set up their own independent label NoCut. The mechanisms of the music business were well known to Martin and Carl: Martin had professional experience as songwriter and producer under contract with EMI for various interpreters since 1990 – Carl on the other hand because he gave up his mechanical engineering studies in 1993 to join a music management company in Hamburg.

In the summer of 2021, MONO INC. played a total of eleven "corona-compliant" open-air shows of their own with changing support bands. Under the motto "We Are The Raven", the band was happy to celebrate with their fans again and let the raven fly after a long forced break. In December, the platinum version of their # 1 charting album 'The Book of Fire' was released, which contains a live CD as well as all songs as instrumental versions.

At the beginning of 2022, Val Perun replaced Manuel Antoni on bass. Together with their new band member, MONO INC. made up for the long-awaited "The Book of Fire" tour in Spring 2022. Much to the fans' delight, the single "The Raven's Back" was released on June 17, 2022, which could hardly describe the feeling of regained freedom better. At the same time, the new, eagerly awaited studio album 'Ravenblack' was announced, which will be released on January 27, 2023.

MONO INC. are looking forward to going on tour with their new album in spring 2023 and then starting an eventful festival summer

MONO INC. are:

Martin Engler – vocals

Katha Mia – drums

Carl Fornia – guitars

TO THE GRAVE Drop Brutal New Track "Axe of Kindness" with Gory, Horror Inspired Music Video

New Album

'DIRECTOR'S CUTS'

Coming February 24th via Unique Leader Records

Pre-Order HERE

On tour throughout Europe in January 2023 with Shadow of Intent/Enterprise Earth/Angelmaker

Australian extreme metal squad To The Grave have unveiled their powerful new single / video 'Axe of Kindness', the second taken from their new album, 'Director’s Cuts', out 24th February, 2023, via Unique Leader Records. Pre-order the album now here. Stream "Axe of Kindness" here and watch the new video (graphic content: viewer discretion advised) below.

"Axe of Kindness" continues the band's strong vegan message. The band comment:

"Axe is a tongue-in-cheek horror concept in the vein of The Purge, we had a little fun going ultra-violent on the idea of someone who’s had enough with a world full of apathy and plans to exact vengeance for animals by going door-to-door with a fire axe."

At just over 44 minutes in length, 'Director’s Cuts' is an album packed with ambition and conscience. To The Grave have never shied away from channeling the real horrors of animal cruelty and its impact into the violent, emotional intensity of their music. Songs such as ‘Red Dot Sight’, ‘Found Footage’ and ‘Cut Off The Head’ perfectly conjure images of a world gone astray.

'Director’s Cuts' was recorded by bassist Matt Clarke, with drums recorded live at The Brain Studios in Sydney and mixed and mastered by Lance Prenc at Prenc Audio (Void of Vision, Alpha Wolf, Polaris) in Melbourne with album photography by Animals Uncovered.

The band comment on the new album:

"This is the refinement of our combined musical tastes, fuelled by our sadness and anger at the state of the world. We made the music we wanted to make without really considering how it would fit into any little genre boxes, because we knew if we loved it completely then everyone else would too. These songs are hard and heavy without being technical just for the sake of it.”

Watch the video to their first single "Red Dot Sight", a hard-hitting track about anti-vegan public figures and the media perception against vegan activists, here.

ABOUT TO THE GRAVE

One of Australia’s most uncompromising bands, To The Grave return with their heaviest album to date, both sonically and thematically. Since the release of their 2019 debut album 'Global Warning', the caustic five piece have garnered international success, with 2021’s follow-up 'Epilogue', a re-issue of 'Global Warning' with bonus tracks, solidifying their position as “one of the country's heaviest exports.” (Revolver).

To The Grave have steadily built an audience in the underground, accumulating more than 11 million Spotify streams, racking up over 5.4 million YouTube views, all whilst decimating live audiences alongside Parkway Drive, PolarisCattle Decapitation, Thy Art Is Murder, Vulvodynia and Alpha Wolf.

Now, following a sold-out national headline tour in 2022 and revitalized by a new lineup, the band are more focused than ever, looking ahead to the release of their second album 'Director’s Cuts' in February 2023.

The eleven tracks lyrically expose a societal and environmental hell on earth whilst pushing the boundaries of accessible extremity, full of barbed hooks, thick with atmosphere and drenched in groove. Razor-sharp guitars played with an exploratory approach - blending everything from whammy pedal squeaks and chiming cleans to death metal chainsaw tones - are entwined with live drums to give a level of dynamism that musically sets this band apart from the extreme metal pack, yet they maintain the weight of the heaviest bands today. Vocalist Dane Evans commands a multifaceted performance, bursting with vocal energy from throat-ripping dissonant screeches to low end gutturals.

Jack Simoni - Guitars, Programming

Anti-Flag Share "VICTORY OR DEATH (WE GAVE 'EM HELL)" Video Feat. Campino

New Album 'Lies They Tell Our Children'

Out January 6 Via Spinefarm

Band Touring With

Flogging Molly & Skinny Lister in 2023

Incendiary Pittsburgh punk rockers ANTI-FLAG are inching closer to the release of their 13th album 'Lies They Tell Our Children' on January 6 via Spinefarm.

Pre-Order it HERE

For this record, the band recruited several high profile and like-minded artists to feature on the songs.

For "VICTORY OR DEATH (WE GAVE 'EM HELL)," A-F looked to Campino of Die Toten Hosen.

Watch the video below. Video is directed by INDECLINE.

"From the first play through of the chord progression of 'Victory or Death,' we knew where it needed to go lyrically. It sounded like hope. It sounded like empathy. Carrying the stories of freedom fighters who were forgotten, perhaps never known, or far too often had their legacies softened, made out to be less radical and safe for American History books.

"This song stands as homage and a testament to the people who've laid the groundwork for progress. Using all within their sometimes limited power to alleviate suffering, challenge the status quo of violence, and demand a reckoning with societal norms that further marginalize and exploit people.

"In spirit with the concept behind Lies They Tell Our Children, we were leaning hard on and embracing our inspirations as a band. Touring with Die Toten Hosen in 2008 was an eye-opening experience. One that has stuck with us through the years. So it only made sense for us to reach out to Campino to see if he had interest in being a part of this track. Not only was he willing to sing the verse we wrote for him, he also penned his own in German. Our hearts and minds were blown away by it.

"This song is one of the most important moments on the album. We’re grateful to share this with the world. To pay our respects to the activists and agitators who lived their lives to leave the world better than they found it.

"March on to our very last breath, it's victory or death…"

Yet, it comes as no surprise that the outfit is about to impressively solidify their unique stance in the world of metal and beyond once more with their 12th album, the hauntingly beautiful 'Sky Void of Stars'.

Today, the unit unveils the second single and 'Sky Void of Stars' album openerAusterity, along with a visually palpable video. The heartfelt offering crashes through the dark with memorable, mind-bending rhythms as it shifts with elaborate guitar riffs that perfectly showcase the musical expertise and experience of the band. KATATONIA on Austerity”:

“We hereby present you our new single and the opening track of 'Sky Void of Stars' – ‘Austerity’. Energetic and dark, stern and disenchanted. Enjoy.”

"Melancholy at its best! Already one of the best Doom albums of 2023!“ (EMP)

"Another heartfelt offensive by KATATONIA" (Metal Hammer, DE)

“...Katatonia hit with highly energetic atmosphere, holding a gloomy ambience with epic sounds and poetic lyrics to get lost in.” (Prog Report)

Founded in 1991, KATATONIA have continually embraced the dark and the light alike, and, living through genre evolutions beyond compare, ripened their own particular form of expression. From doom and death metal to soul-gripping post rock, they’ve explored endless spheres of the genre, accumulating only the very best aspects.

Emerging from the gloom, KATATONIA is a beacon of light - breathing their unique, never stagnant, atmospheric sound through this new 11-track offering, all written and composed by vocalist Jonas Renkse. Significantly shaping the genre while still staying true to their own musical values, they orbit the musical universe - leaving their imprints on the scene. Projecting their sound to the endless realms, 'Sky Void of Stars' shines bright in metal and beyond!

KATATONIA on the new album, 'Sky Void of Stars':

“Our 12th album, 'Sky Void of Stars', is a dynamic journey through vibrant darkness. Born out of yearning for what was lost and not found, the very peripheries of the unreachable, but composed and condensed into human form and presented as sounds and words true to the KATATONIA signum. No stars here, just violent rain.”

Pre-Order 'Sky Void of Stars' HERE

KATATONIA is one of a kind in a state of perpetual evolution. With their previously released first single, Atrium, KATATONIA hit with a highly energetic atmosphere, holding a gloomy ambience with epic sounds and poetic lyrics to get lost in.

Songs like down- tempo Opaline and moody Drab Moon fully embrace their melancholic sound while fragile Impermanence is accented by the original doom metal roots of the band. Like a dark star, these pieces relume the dreariness, creating an ambient auditory experience with memorable hooks while still inducing the crashing sounds of hard guitar riffs and pounding drums.

The experimental mastery of the quintet and their atmospheric approach is purely vivid, making this album a thrilling sensation. With Birds, the artists show off their explosive potential with a quick and energetic sound, proving their genre-defying style.

'Sky Void of Stars' is now available for pre-order in the following configurations:

JOHN DIVA & THE ROCKETS OF LOVE Announce New Album 'The Big Easy' Out March 17th, 2023

JOHN DIVA & THE ROCKETS OF LOVE

Announce New Album

'The Big Easy' out March 17th, 2023

Tour Coming in Spring 2023!

Pre-Order HERE

"Remember 80-something — we never seemed to miss a thing" – these first lines of John Diva’s latest song “Back In The Days“ are a perfect summary of what this band stands for: Spandex pants, juvenile folly, a love for partying, and a Walkman with a fresh set of batteries. John Diva & The Rockets Of Love are bringing back carefree 80s vibes, yet manage to make them sound brand new.

With their debut album 'Mama Said Rock Is Dead', the group stormed to No. 24 on the album charts in 2019. On its successor, 'American Amadeus', the five U.S. Germans explored the boundaries of Glam Metal and also scored a major chart success. Sold-out tours, extravagant video clips, appearances at Wacken and well beyond: the brightly colored pirate ship that is John Diva & The Rockets Of Love has set sail to a nostalgic world of tan lines, Aviator glasses, and 80s Rock.

The same goes for their third album 'The Big Easy' (out March 17, 2023, via Steamhammer/SPV), which marks the five rockers’ return.

The name of the record says it all: "We wanted to record an album that sounds like Cherry Cola," guitarist Snake Rocket explains the process of creating 'The Big Easy'"Also, we put great emphasis on the fact that the record is intended as an album and doesn’t sound as if we jammed together an intro and eleven random songs. The record works in that order precisely." It only took six months from initial song idea to finished album. Never has John Diva & The Rockets Of Love sounded more like a unit – never has the group oozed so much joy and California sunshine from every pore.

John Diva & The Rockets Of Love are synonymous with wild parties, passionate live shows, but also liberal messages in their lyrics. Bullshit? Not at all. In their lyrics, the five musicians clearly reject the sexism that is so common in their genre, for example in songs like "Boys Don't Play With Dolls“"In our music, everyone is welcome and appreciated," frontman John Diva emphasizes.

Right on. Because isn’t carefreeness exactly what we all need right now?

The new album "The Big Easy" will be released on March 17th, 2023 worldwide through SPV/Steamhammer as CD DigiPak, LP Gatefold version, CD/LP bundle with shirt (only at the Steamhammer Shop), download and stream HERE

The Bellwether Syndicate present enigmatic 'Beacons' single & video, navigating through realism

"Goth Rock Tornado... hair-raising speed, riff-racing insanity and badass drum/bass force... William Faith‘s edged Goth-infused vocals rumble all over this super-duper sucker-punch steamroller" ~ Turn Up The Volume

"Anything but conventional when it comes to rock music... the band is one of the most unique dissonant sounds in the scene" ~ Outburn Magazine

“Amazing, stunning... Post-punk on a not-very-discreet death rock orientation” ~ The Noise Journal

“The time seems right for a new wave of post-punk to be ushered in. But I suspect that is already underway, and The Bellwether Syndicate is leading the charge” ~ Big Takeover Magazine

"A glittery piece of glamorous darkness...with William Faith’s crooning vocals and Sarah Rose smoothly cascading guitars” ~ Post-Punk.com

Chicago-based alternative post-punk outfit The Bellwether Syndicate presents 'Beacons', the second single from single from the band's 'Vestige & Vigil' album, scheduled for release in April 2023 via Nexilis Records / Schubert Music Europe and Sett Records in North America. The single debuted at #4 in the DAC/German Alternative Charts.

'Beacons' exerts its nautical feel in both tone and verse, with the ‘set adrift’ narrative supported by liquid, chorused guitars and distress-signal bass and synth, before the whole thing kicks into a full steam ahead chorus, with chiming, glorious guitars chasing the pulsing beat and soaring vocal all the way home.

The Bellwether Syndicate is made up of William Faith (vox, guitars), Sarah Rose Faith (vox, guitars), Philly Peroxide (keyboards, percussion), Stevyn Grey (drums) and Corey Gorey (guitars).

"'Beacons' is simply a love song to our family: our people — our fans. We’d be truly lost at sea without them, and every time we get ready to play a live gig, they really are the beacons that guide us home, to that moment where we’re together in a safe harbor and everything is possible. That moment is everything to us, and it’s what we live for," says William Faith.

Earlier, the band released the lead track 'Dystopian Mirror', which reached #11 in the German Alternative Charts (DAC). This glam-noir single wields a relentless assault of hard-edged guitars, buzzsaw synths and tribal beats set the stage for a guided tour through the realm of the unwell, spat out with sardonic conviction by the voices in your head.

Six years in the making, the 'Vestige & Vigil' LP was produced by William Faith, whose credits include Jarboe, Clan of Xymox, Bootblacks and Autumn, and Chad Blinman (Face To Face, Faith and The Muse, Jarboe). Recorded by William Faith at 13 Studio in Chicago, it was mixed by Blinman at The Eye Socket. This album comes 9 years after debuting with 'The Night Watch' EP and four years since their latest single 'Republik'.

William Faith is a former member of seminal goth acts Christian Death, Mephisto Walz and Shadow Project and also co-founder of Faith & The Muse. In 2010, he moved from his native Los Angeles to Chicago to form The Bellwether Syndicate with his wife, Sarah Rose Faith a.k.a. Scary Lady Sarah.

An underground legend in her own right, Sarah has been one of the scene’s most eminent DJs and club promoters for decades. She hosts Nocturna, the longest-running goth event in North America, which takes place at Metro in Chicago. Apart from forming the nucleus of The Bellwether Syndicate, the two often DJ together as The Pirate Twins.

As of December 2, 'Beacon's will be available from all fine digital outlets, including Apple Music, Spotify and Bandcamp, where 'Dystopian Mirror' can also be found.

WIG WAM ANNOUNCES NEW STUDIO ALBUM 'OUT OF THE DARK' OUT FEBRUARY 10, 2023

2023 TOUR DATES ANNOUNCED

WITH MORE TO BE ADDED

Norwegian rock n' roll warriors Wig Wam have announced they will release their new studio album, 'Out Of The Dark' on February 10, 2023.

Coming on the heels of renewed, enthusiastic interest in the band thanks to their classic track "Do Ya Wanna Taste It" being used as the theme song for HBO's popular Peacemaker television series, 'Out Of The Dark' sees an already extremely talented band feeling truly reinvigorated and inspired.

A new single and video for the title track of the new album is out now.

The band has also announced multiple tour dates in the U.S., Europe, and Australia, with more dates to be added. Be sure to check the Wig Wam website for updates. A full list of confirmed dates can be seen below.

"We came out of the pandemic and had a pretty rough 'rebirth' doing a comeback in the midst of this dark period of live music. The album is, of course, also a 'happier' album, even though some of the song lyrics reflect on darker themes in our society, but they all have one thing in common: A positive outcome. Never giving up," explains vocalist Åge Sten Nilsen of 'Out Of The Dark'.

Wig Wam, vocalist Glam (Åge Sten Nilsen), guitarist Teeny (Trond Holter), bassist Flash(Bernt Jansen), and drummer Sporty (Øystein Andersen), formed in Halden, Norway in 2001 and have been mixing '80s inspired glam metal with classic hard rock, with entertaining lyrics and over-the-top imagery thrown in, to create a good old fashioned rock n' roll vibe for over two decades.

In 2005, the year after the release of their debut album (first titled '667.. The Neighbour of the Beast' and later changed to 'Hard To Be A Rock N' Roller'), the band had their first international breakthrough when they represented Norway in the Eurovision Song Contest, placing ninth with the song "In My Dreams". The band would go on to release three more studio albums, 'Wig Wamania' (2006), 'Non Stop Rock 'N Roll' (2010), and 'Wall Street' (2012) before splitting up in 2014.

The band would reunite in 2019 and work on a new album, 'Never Say Die' that was released in early 2021. In 2022, the band had a stroke of good fortune when film/television director James Gunn selected their 2010 song "Do Ya Wanna Taste It" (from the album 'Non Stop Rock 'N Roll') as the opening theme song for the HBO Max show Peacemaker starring John Cena. The show, based on a DC Comics character, showcased the band to a whole new audience who had been previously unaware of them and has seen the band taking on renewed interest and booking more and more live dates around the world.
